Ordered from the bar around the lunch hour. Quick and prompt friendly service, nice atmosphere. Ordered a cheese burger and fries and it came out very quickly and was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I would definitely stop back in when I'm in the area.

Great Atmosphere. We had Brunch, with $5 Bloody Mary Bar. We loved the sticky buns !!!! Service was very good. Friendly Staff, clean Facility, decent food. Not the best huevos rancheros I've ever had. Could have used some fresh cilantro , onion and black beans. The rest of the food was good. Brunch prices on average were about $13 per plate.

One of my favorite places for the food, but Im a late eater and damn if it wont morph into an annoying bar when you're mid-meal. The patio rocks: but beware of the chimney heads chain smoking thru their beers. Choose your seat strategically. bloody marys are big n spicy, but again, this morphs into a bar mid meal when the sports take over the brunches. Overall, they serve good hearty (aka salty, greasy) american pub fair.... but dont expect a quiet evening. I dont mean the train. oh yeah the bigfat greek salad is two meals. I do also love that their kitchen is open later than anybodys. Full kitchen... did i mention I eat late?

Kendog and I hadn't been there in a while for brunch and thought what the hell this past Sunday. Boy did we make a good decision. We were sat right away and our waitress was very freidnly and good. Kenny got his signature breakfast croissant sandwich. It is huge but inexpensive and he never leavesa crumb. For me, I made my own omelette w/spinach mushrooms crabmeat & swiss cheese. It was awesome. The only complaint I have is that when I got a refill on my coffee, it must've been the end of the pot bc it tasted old and gross. Otherwise, an overall great brunch.

Sat out on the deck on a lovely Friday evening. There was no wait which surprised me. Our waiter was very friendly and down-to-earth. Nice beer selection. Their menu is so big it took forever to decide (that can be a good or bad thing). I had the chicken sesame wrap (yum!) and my dining partner had the Kid's Famous build-your-own burger (huge, delicious, and I love that you can pick as many toppings as you want without paying extra). Skip the Key West shrimp appetizer! Eleven bucks for about a dozen TINY (and I mean tiny) overly-breaded shrimp? Rip-off. Overall, though, a great dining experience. I'll be coming back.

I have been to Kid's twice now and have really enjoyed both times. The first time was in the summer, and we went just for dessert. My friend and I got the brownie sundae and the banana bread pudding, both of which were excellent. The patio is really nice when the weather is good-- Kid's location is much better than the other bars (Catherine Rooney's and CR Hooligan's come to mind) along Del Ave with all the traffic and noise. We returned just a couple of weeks ago. Now, it was a Tuesday night, and they were so busy that we had to wait for twenty minutes. We wanted to order the lobster bisque on the specials menu and they were out of it. The waitress messed up both of our orders (gave my friend a side garden salad when she asked for a side caesar salad, and gave me sweet potato fries when I asked for a baked sweet potato), and then didn't return to check on us (somebody else served us the food) for so long that we were both halfway through our burgers already, and we eat slowly. However, the burgers were fantastic, and the salad and sweet potato were too. The fries were pretty darn good too, since we ate them in the meantime! And we also ordered the apple crisp for dessert this time, which was totally delicious. The waitress also gave us a brownie sundae without the ice cream for only $1. All in all, the perfect place for bar scene and food-- some more interesting stuff than typical bar fare, and the open grill area is cool. Make sure to check out their daily specials. Tuesday night is half priced burgers and $2 lagers, frankly that can't be beat. Sunday is half priced appetizers and $2 domestic bottles.

Have always loved this restaurant. I have gone there since it first opened. The food is always good and I like the neighborhood feel. I only have one thing that I dislike about the place. It gets very loud! So I avoid weekend nights. I think the best time to go have a nice dinner there is early in the week. So go give the place a try if you haven't already!
(4)Nikki N.
I am very disappointed with the foods we ordered. The only food we like was the starter. Which was the Calamari. Very small portion though for two. Two things I don't really like in this place, foods are way tooooooooo SALTY & TOO much crazy creole seasonings!!! Yuck! My husband ordered the Ahi tuna blackened and the worst of the worst rubbery salty tasting fish. Oh boy! I got the ribs and it's something a college student can make in a dormitory. It taste as if they pour a lot of a store-bought bbq sauce to look moist. Fries are toooooooooo soggy. And the lady who got our order is just another thing you would not like to go at this place...She asks what temperature we want for the Ahi....hello??? I would not recommend this place at all.

Funny how some of the best places in this city are tucked away in places in a manner that if someone doesn't show them to you you have no idea they are there." Kids" has an amazingly large menu considering the size of their kitchen, and I for one have never had a bad meal there. I am a frequent patron of this restaurant, and for good reason. Their burgers are always juicy and seasoned perfectly, with a bun as good as any i have ever had. Salads are generously portioned, and drink prices you cant help but love. New owners have only made the place better, keeping with the things "kid's" has done rite for years and bringing in items and employees (both front and back of house) to enhance the places popularity. Nachos here, are funny as it is the best in all of Wilmington i kid you not, the new sliders and mac and cheese are amazing, and you absolutely can not go wrong with a burger or sandwich.I notice that the only bad reviews here are when people order things i would not. If i 'm at a rib shack, i order ribs, fish spot, guess what i am ordering? No this is not a Michelin star restaurant, its a pub/ sports bar, with really good food! Stop by try it out, sit on the deck in the summer, i promise you wont be disappointed (i never have). P.S they also do take out. Ohh and PPS Bring back my Blue Rocks burger (even tho they will make it upon request!!)
(4)Haley G.
Did not eat here, only got drinks. Service was a tad slow. I ordered a cocktail, the boys a draft each. My drink was something fruity and tasted good. Ogling the other patrons dishes, it seemed they are a good place to grab a bite, listen to live music, and enjoy a very trendy atmosphere.

Ladies and gentlemen, Kid Shelleen! (That's what my DC said when I sat down underneath what was track lighting but felt like a spotlight, haha.) Aaaaanyway... We went here for brunch and were very satisfied. Firstly, the cinnamon rolls were a great beginning to the meal. I've never been to a place that has these as a free little appetizer and now I find myself craving them. I had scrambled eggs with home fries, and a side of tomato, since I don't eat breakfast meat. No real complaints. I really liked the taste and texture of the home fries - I was a little worried when I saw them on another person's plate and they looked very crispy. However, what I got were a mixture of crispy/tender pieces that were seasoned very well. He had the eggs florentine that came with jalapeno cornbread. The cornbread really wasn't that spicy, which was great, because it had a unique flavor without being overpowering to the rest of the dish. Service was good too - and free coffee refills are always a welcomed addition!

We came in for our first burger night on Tuesday. Our server Kelsey was very patient with us and gave us a run down of the menu and clued us in on her favorite burger. The outdoor seating area was swarmed with mosquitos. Our server gave us a candle but it wasn't working. The atmosphere was ok. It appeared that some sort of construction going on. We learned the pipes were getting some updates. A friendly manager came by to check on us. We would love to come back and sit inside where things seemed more comfortable. Over all the food was awesome, service was awesome, atmosphere was debatable.
(4)Igor O.
The new menu has a few items worth checking out. Try the mushroom tacos with the side of succotash.
(4)Ethan J.
Been over a dozen times..the burgers are slightly overrated. Ive had them there and taken out, and experienced varied results. They are slightly over priced and always over cooked. The tacos, while good, are overdone and expensive. $13,$14 for three tacos
(3)Andrea F.
Everything is delicious. Okay, admittedly their tacos are pretty much inedible but...EVERYTHING ELSE is delicious! The servers are all really good looking (and young so I feel creepy saying that). I love the fried pickles. I am obsessed. Also, the make your own bloody mary bar is fanfuckintastic. Ideally, I would come here, sit at the bar, make my own super-spicy bloody mary, eat fried pickles, and check out the eye candy every day. Too bad I have to live my actual life.
(5)Donna G.
Well not so good. Husband had a "mile high" roast beef sandwich. The height was only due to a lot of steamed spinach! The roast beef was like a hot roast beef with some roasted red peppers. Tasty but for $15 not enough! We were asked by some man how it was and we told him. He did offer to give him something else but that didn't seem like it was needed. The waiter was so stiff! No idea who he was and I tried to engage him to no avail! My Caesar salad with salmon was delicious. They are trying!!
(3)Kevin L.
Their burgers are the best. They never disappoint.
(4)Jasmine D.
First time trying this place. Pretty good, food wasn't to die for but not a deterring factor. I would return to this place. Even tried the dessert. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is great. The food just lacked salt but other than the awesome experience! Our waiter was very nice as well.
(4)Jeff B.
If you are a looking for a place to go for great food in the mid-afternoon or even for dinner this place is it. Great food & Great service. Everything that i have ordered off the menu has been good thus far. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken sandwich or the buffalo wings, extremely good. The environment is chill upbeat - but not to upbeat. The bar is pretty big, if you are just looking to sit down and have a drink.
(4)Sherry J.
RJ and I came back to Kid Shelleen's for the lettuce wraps. We were disappointed this time. RJ ordered corn chowder which was fantastic, so I ordered the soup special which was cream of broccoli. With no broccoli in it whatsoever. It was literally just green cream soup, the worst I have ever had. RJ's chicken lettuce wraps were way too spicy this time, and my tuna was not fresh at all. Our lettuce was wilted and limp. Very disappointing, especially when there are so many other wonderful places for us to go.

I stopped by last weekend because I had never been before and wanted to try something new in Wilmington. We didn't get food, but it smelled incredible! We sat at the bar and were immediately approached by a male bar tender. I can't remember his name, but he was so friendly and pleasant. I drink mostly beer, but he was making mixed drinks in front of me and the fresh mint he added to the mojitos smelled heavenly so I tried one. My stomach couldn't handle it so I gave it to my fiance to drink. He said it was awesome. The bartender made some other interesting cocktails and he made it seem like an art form. I even told him, "you're like an artist!". It was fairly quiet except for a cover band playing. I liked the warm brick interior and the vibe in general. All the patrons were friendly and not at all annoying (I live in Newark, so you can imagine how refreshing that is). I'll definitely be back to try the food! The burgers looked and smelled so good.
(4)Mrs J.
Great selection of hamburgers. Tried the 6 oz Baja burger and it was zesty and enough food for one person!
(4)Jennifer H.
Kid Shelleens is the BEST place to eat. Obviously the nachos are a must. If you like French fries you better order them here. I tend to order their buffalo chicken sandwich (I get it in wrap form) and it is i n c r e d i b l e! Aside from the delicious food, the atmosphere also has me constantly coming back. It's so relaxed & comfortable but nice at the same time. It's a place where you can dress up nice if that's how you're feeling, or roll in with your sweatpants on. Either way it's acceptable, the staff never judges! haha I'd say it's my favorite place to eat in Delaware by far.
(5)Alex M.
Brunch should not be two hour meal. I was part of a party of five that was seated promptly at the high tables by the bar and it took twenty minutes for water to be filled in our glasses. That was done by the manager (I believe) who was really nice. The problem was our waiter didn't drop by for another ten minutes to take our order. We've been seated for thirty minutes and we're just putting in our brunch order. I got the brisket and eggs, with my eggs scrambled and not poached. We got a half order of nachos to start, which was a wise use cause our meals didn't arrive until we have been at our table for over an hour. When they came, my eggs were cold and there wasn't much brisket on my plate to warrant a $14.00 price tag. By the time we got our check and paid it on one card, we have spent two hours at this place. I'm not from the Wilmington area, and I had a six hour drive ahead of me. No matter how I tried to tell our waiter that we would like to get going, service would be slower and slower. If I'm in Wilmington again, you will not find me here.
(1)Dan B.
If you want to go to a casual restaurant with good contemporary American fare, this is the spot in Wilmington. Great burgers, incredible nachos, and an interesting selection of entrees and specials round out a varied menu. The staff are fairly good and the management is constantly changing up the menu in search of ever improving the experience. The environment is convivial and overall this place will not disappoint, even after multiple visits.

Kids has been around for 30 years, it seemed to take that long to get our food tonight Monday 6-2-14, a Monday evening with enough business to keep the kitchen steady but not weeded. Thirty minutes for a M/R burger and a chicken sandwich. The burger was good, the LeBus roll a little stale and dry. A frozen thaw and serve is not what it takes for a $13 burger... Maybe try a Liscio's roll... Fresh soft and a bit of a chew would make a good burger great! Decent beer selection. Bartender was flying solo on this night and did well to service bar patrons and the service bar, friendly and good at small talk. Kids is like the Library, it will always be around if you want to just go old school.
(3)Patty P.
Just ate there with my family. Nachos were delicious and more than enough for a family of five as an appetizer. Ordered the Gold Rush burger medium rare. Delicious! Love the brisket and the fried egg that topped. Can't wait to eat the leftovers as I could only finish half of my burger. Service was excellent.
(4)Ted T.
Nice atmosphere. Good tap selection. Great food. Love any place bold enough to put deviled eggs on menu. Absolutely loved the mashed Sweet Potatoes, tasted like pumkin pie filling.
(4)T N.
I love this restaurant, but I had an awful experience sitting at the bar. The bartender spent so much time chatting with a couple of regulars that soon enough, fifteen minutes had gone by with us waiting to order with our menus in front of us, not to mention my boyfriend's drink was empty. Thank goodness for the other bartender who finally stepped in and took care of us. For the rest of our time there, our original bartender spent 90% of his time hanging around the same few people and talking non-stop. Stop the socializing and do your job!

Fabulous little brunch outing at this hidden gem of Trolley Square! The wait was a little long but nothing a tasty mimosa couldnt fix! (The cherry on top was the kicker) Endless cinnamon buns..fresh coffee to boot! I had the eggs chesapeke. Mound of crab meat with poached egg and some crazy sauce drizzled on top. Mm yum!! Pair it with french toaste and bacon and crispy homefries. Delish!
(5)Lise L.
Visited for the first time last night for an Our Night Out event which was amazing. Very friendly bartenders and staff all around. My friends and I decided to stay for a meal and I am so glad we did. We all ordered one of the burgers offered - lamb sliders, turkey burger, the kid, another I can't remember the name of but it was good. All grilled to perfection. Our server, Sidney, was a doll! I live in NJ but will definitely take a another trip here to check out brunch and for another amazing dinner experience.
(4)Lashonda T.
Delaware' s best kept for brunch AMAZING!! I've had the Eggs Chesapeake & the Cherrywood Smoked Brisket & Eggs both de FLIPPING licious. Very busy but the wait was less then 30 minutes. The wait staff wasn't too attentive but I will ALWAYS go for the food. They also have cts to watch sports & such.
(4)Sandro C.
What I thought was a pick-up joint (and maybe it was many years ago) turned out instead to be a very nice restaurant just outside of the Wilmington downtown. The Sunday brunches are excellent and with a nice, comfortable atmosphere.
(4)Christopher S.
Went for happy hour and was good not great. Nachos and burger were good. Beef brisket was average at best. Also service was a little slow. Again good but not great.
(3)Kelly C.
When in Delaware, do as the Delawareians do and toodle your way past Trolley Square to Kid Shelleen's. I hadn't been here in probably 10 years until recently. Back in my day, we had to look up how to get there on MapQuest and write it down or print it out. It was uphill both ways, and we got lost 3 times on the way home. Well, it's much easier to find now with GPS smartphone maps. But it's just as timeless of a Wilmington treasure as it ever was. I love the bar atmosphere with dining rooms and of course, the awesome, big, circular corner booth. The food is decent. The service is great. And of course, game days have enough TVs for everyone.
(4)Liz H.
BEST WINGS IN WILMINGTON, I am a wing enthusiast and this place by far has the best breading and sauce OUT THERE! Wings are HUGE too. Really enjoy going here with friends, great atmosphere at night, classy yet casual place to dine. Service is great. I would live at their bar if I could... the beige chairs are sooo comfy
(5)Mike T.
Kid Sheleen's is a great neighborhood gem. The menu favors sandwiches however there are adequate larger meals available. The restaurant is a bit noisy during weekends, but that does not take away from the quality of this place.
(4)Joanna A.
Sat outside and was a wonderful experience! Great food! Would go back and would bring visitors! Nice people and great waitor!
(5)Mark G.
Kid's is usually petty good. Tonight had one of the specials - the mile high roast beef which while very tasty was more steamed spinach than roast beef. Would be better named mile high steamed spinach sandwich.
(3)Melissa M.
Based solely on my brunch experience, Meh. I've experienced better. Mediocre at best for service and food. Average prices. Above average noise level from obnoxious children running rampant throughout the place. If you're with friends, not young children, I'd suggest Scratch Magoo's for brunch with better food, atmosphere, drinks!
(2)Stephanie L.
(I went during the winter) It's a bar. Straight up, no joke. It has tables, but don't let them fool you. This place is meant to get drunk at, eat, then drink so more, and hopefully find your way home around the neighborhood. The menu is heavy, cold weather influenced. The drinks are just as heavy, meant to keep the bitter cold winds from sinking into your bones. . I stood out, drinking my Sam Adams Alpine Spring, the newest brewski for them, and this. I ordered a GoldRush burger. Which I find deeply, deeply amusing, as I come from the Gold Rush State, my companion grew up just beyond Sutter's Mill, and is also a 49ers fan. Meant to be. The burger is a large beef patty (medium rare, NOTHING else, I dare you), bacon, pulled pork, smoked Gouda, and a fried egg, over easy, garnishes on the side. Holy smoked Gouda, this was yummy. My companion stared at my food, getting the first bite, receiving the first of the oozing egg yolk, the melty cheese, the fresh beef patty. It dripped, it slathered, it was smokin'. Yes. With an apostrophe. It was enormous as well, so he finished off more than a quarter, and I took home a quarter. Washed down with the coolness of the draft beer, it was just amazing. My eyes fluttered a little bit (might have been the acrid winds creeping in through the doors), my shoulders sagged, I was warm and happy. And my beer made my veins flow red, my heart pitter patter quicker, the cobwebs in my mind swept away. This place is loud. This place is obnoxious. I can see why people come and go and then come back. All in the same night. I would absolutely love to go bar hopping here, watch sporting events (baseball season coming up!), boxing matches, it doesn't matter. This place has the warmth that loud chatter and good food try to provide, that people in cold weather rely on.

We recently had a really great experience at Kid Shelleen's. I had mistakenly set up a reservation for a birthday brunch for 8 people on the wrong day. It could have been a complete disaster but the folks at Kids were extremely helpful in finding us a long table so we can all sit together quickly. I should also mention it was very busy at the time. We have been there for their brunch a few times and it is always good. Love the Bloody Mary "make you own" bar. All of the meals were great and ranged from omelets to burgers. Another thing that is worth pointing it out is that the burger exactly as ordered which is something the many restaurants struggle with. And Ammar(sp?) was a great server. Glad he was the one taking care of us.
(5)Tameka J.
I did not expect to have such a great brunch at this spot. We walked in and the place was packed, we were fortunate to find 2 seats at the bar, they were by the door so of course it was chilly when the door opened. None the less one look at the menu and I couldn't leave without trying a few things. We started with mugs of mimosa, the were pretty good even though I prefer my mimosas in a champagne glass minus the ice. The sticky buns arrived next, they were warm, sweet, delicious and endless. I had the French toast special and my friend had the brisket sliders we both enjoyed our food and will definitely go back. I just wish they took reservations since I do not live in DE and whenever Im in the area I try to get a table but cant.
(4)Cornel F.
One of our family's favorite for its large and varied menu, its good beer selection and the good mood that permeates this locale
(4)Nicole B.
Came here for dinner with friends. We shared the burger sliders. It'was 3 different kinds. Nothing exciting and overcooked. I get it ..hard to have any pink in a slider and that is what we get for ordering them again. Also had the pork belly with deviled eggs. The eggs were fantastic. Some of the best I have ever had. But the pork belly wasnt anything great and tasted like there was syrup all over it. Maybe I missed it in the description but wouldnt get either again. Our friends had a chicken cheese steak. I didnt hear much feedback about that. The roll looked okay. Our other friend had a cheese burger which actually looked fantastic. He said it was good. Also shared a plate of nachos. Way more chips then nachos. Again not impressed. I had higher expectations now that this place is owned by Harry's. My previous meals have been pretty good so I will give another try and just order differntly.
(2)Denise T.
Most locals love it. Me, I'm just not a huge fan. I've eaten here numerous times mainly because of my husband and it's convenient location. My husband is a fan of their Cob Salad and French Onion Soup. When the owner's of Harry's Savoy bought the place and updated some of the inside awhile back I held out hope. It's still as noisy as ever and the food hasn't improved much. I have given many of their specials a try in the hopes of having something surprise me. It just hasn't happened. This time I had their Crab Mac 'n Cheese special. It came out in a extremely small cast iron skillet - it actually looked more like an appetizer was being served than a dinner. The portion was almost equal to my husband's cup of soup. It wasn't horrible, but it didn't wow me either. It definitely needed seasoning in a big way!

(3.5) ~ Good overall Food & Service. * Good Burgers and a wide selection of Beer;-) NOTE: Parking Lot is across the street.

I SO want to love Kid Shelleen's as it's within a 2 block distance from my home but every time I go I walk out and promise never to go back. But I digress...... The Good: the bar area is great & the service is top notch! the decor, space, restrooms are always impeccable. The Not So Good: Case in point, went there last night with a group of 6 to celebrate a dear friend's new job/move to NC.Our server,Nikki, was nice but everyone agreed that if we were a table of perhaps 6 men then our service would have been stellar.A friend & I each got the Falafel Pita & after about 3 bites I couldn't eat it.One was almost raw in the middle & all the falafels were as hard as a rock. The Pita bread they were encased in was charred to the point of being burnt.Ugh.Seems every meal here is either was overdone or not as ordered(** if you get takeout please check your order as I've had at least 3 recent mess ups**) . More Good: Seeing that I hardly touched my meal the manager came over & graciously comped me a drink and gave the table a dessert on the house. This was very nice & he seemed genuinely upset that the meal was not to my liking.Management that is in touch with the basics will make me try Kid's once more & hopefully I'll walk away and be excited to come back! Oh, and after this our server just casually dropped off the check. We were wanting to stay a good bit longer but obviously she wanted us to clear the bill & be on our way.We went to Catherine Rooney's and spent about $50 on drinks that we would have spent at Kid's. My advice is to stick to something basic and if it's good then try other items. It's a shame as their bar area is great with friendly people & good conversation.
(2)Sara S.
Kids is about 2 blocks from our townhouse so the location is perfect! The service was ok. Waited about 5-7 minutes for water and menus at 830pm on a Monday night, so it wasn't like the restaurant was packed. Our waiter wasn't the friendliest either. We were told the burgers are good, and yes, they are amazing! I had the burger with Brie cheese and mushrooms on top, wow, this was great. Highly recommend the burgers. Beers are pricey ($5.50) for a blue moon...but overall it seems like a great local spot, nice atmosphere, and Tvs around the bar to watch sports. We will be back...also heard brunch is good and they have an outside deck.
(3)Michele J.
We went there for brunch last Sunday. We biked there so we weren't in our Sunday best. Sadly I think that impacted our experience. I felt as though the servers were more interested in interacting with our more well dressed counterparts. Our food took a LONG time to arrive and I witnessed an interaction between two servers that told me our order was long forgotten by both the servers and the kitchen. NOW, having said that, my shrimp and grits was out of this world and the complimentary cinnamon buns were mmmm also. We'll be back but with the understanding that this place caters to the annoying Trolley Square demographic.

im writing a positive review in spite of my experience tonight. after reading the reviews, its my own fault that i didn't know about this. apparently tuesday night is 1/2 price burgers, so the place was PACKED. no tables, no seats at the bar and parking was a total nightmare. i waited 15 minutes just for the hostess to notice me even standing there. after i finally got seated and ordered, its took 45 minutes for my food to come. my broccoli was so overcooked it was practically mush. that being said, i usually enjoy this place. i work literally a block away, and its very nice to stop by and sit and the bar and cool off. i've tried a couple of their salads which were very good. the falafel was just ok, i probably wouldn't order it again. the black bean burger was pretty good as well. my friend ordered a regular burger and said it was fantastic. i don't mind paying for good food, but i do think for just a neighborhood bar the prices are on the high side. $13 for a salad is a little steep, and one time a friend ordered the wings appetizer and it was $12.95.
(4)Joe T.
yes i'm a fan, love what the new owners have done...great specials ...half price tuesday burgers...outdoor eating...
(4)Jeff T.
Kid's is my personal favorite bar in good Wilmy. The atmosphere is chill and the bar area is relaxing. Great staff, affordable, lots of big screen's, big room for private parties and a great patio area outside, that stays heated in the winter. And their Sunday brunch menu is already pretty legendary and super dank, they serve these absurd mini cinnamon buns to your table when you're seated...check out Kid's!
(5)Jen J.
Hands down best burgers in Wilmo. Can get a little loud in the main bar/dining room but love the deck if the weather is nice.
(4)M L.
I was really disappointed with this restaurant. I had taken a friend here for a birthday celebration, the atmosphere was just ok and the food was terrible. I ordered the gold rush burger that is supposed to be topped with an over easy egg, unfortunately my egg was a deep fried piece of rubber on top of my overcooked burger. When I pointed it out to the waiter he could offer no resolution , no discount from the bill.... Nothing!!!!!! We opted to leave and enjoy dinner elsewhere..
(2)Sunny B.
Dined here with a group of 14, corporate dinner, we reserved the back room. I was not overly impressed with the food, but the service was excellent, especially for one girl handling the entire room. We started with apps, calamari with too much breading, mozzarella sticks with lower grade cheese, nachos I didn't dare touch. I ordered Stuffed Jumbo Shrimp, it was shrimp stuffed with crab imperial (which I found out meant disgusting mayonnaise blend) and covered with so much mozzarella cheese you could barely taste anything else. I will say the potato I had was delicious and came with so many topping options of toppings I could have had that for dinner and been satisfied. If I lived in Delaware that place would not be in my regular rotation. 2.5 stars

Fun place for Wilmington where the choices are a bit limited. Big fan of the hashed browns but was a bit upset at the latest visit to see that the "crown maple flapjack" had been dropped from the menu. Always seems to be a good crowd though and the experience and atmosphere are pleasant.

This restaurant dubs itself as a charcoal house and a saloon. When you enter Kid Shelleen's, you quickly realize that neither of those labels apply. Yes, the restaurant boasts a kitchen and a bar, but that's it. You've got to love a place that tries to label itself with nifty titles to draw in a crowd. Kids' (as the locals refer to it) doesn't have a problem bringing in the crowds. It's a mix of suburbanites, golf club types, young trolley square residents. Most of them gather around the bar that takes up most of the indoor dining room. Menu is your generic American offerings - with your usual suspects for appetizers (nachos, wings, crab dip, etc.), salads, sandwiches, and main courses (Steak, penne pasta with shrimp). Portions are generous, execution is lackluster. They offer brunch on Sundays, have weekly specials - my favorite being "No Whining Wednesdays" - with half-price bottles of wine. Service is super attentive all around from host, bar to server. Roomy outdoor patio saves the restaurant.
(2)Jay N.
Great sliders though I wouldn't say they were the absolute best I've had. Service could have been a bit better but the desert saved this place for us. A wonderful, seemingly homemade 'tuxedo cheese cake'. Yum. Kid Shelleen's has a bar, sparse with customers on our visit and a feel which lacks intimacy. This place can't decide if it's a pub or a Bennigans. Still, it's a good eat if you're in the mood for burgers or a great desert.
(3)Christina F.
Best: half price wines on Wednesdays. Not all but most. I'm a bubbly drinker so it's always on the list. Very accommodating with groups and with kids. Not best: Food eh.It s usually ok. Just ordered lamb sliders with side of veggies. Sliders ok. Veggies not- look like scraped off another guest s plate. Actually they even had a veg sticker still on the red pepper and heavy on onions. Sadly didn't notice til it was too late.

Went here with a few friends. Sat at the bar and ordered apps and drinks. The apps came very fast and were super tasty. The bartender was attentive, funny, and helpful. He suggested several options. Drinks were fast as well. Also chatted with a few of the other people sitting at the bar. Friendly atmosphere....great food....great drinks!
(4)Ted E.
Great burgers. We didn't have anything else. Very good and attentive service.
(3)Lori H.
Good food and great service! Thanks Emmie!
(4)Rodge B.
The best buffalo chicken sandwich in Wilmington. The nachos are awesome as are the potato skins. The crowd is so so, and we really only come here for dinner or after Point to Point. They also serve pretty cheap Bud Light Aluminum bottles.
(4)Cathy V.
The best burgers in town especially on Tuesdays- they are half priced! Sweet potato fries are awesome. We sat outside the last time we went.It was quite lovely. The service was good. The owner was there that night & ha schmoozed with the clientele
(4)foodie j.
Had dinner there tonight. Clearly their food is up a notch. Delicious!!! Wonder if it is a new chef or a chef "inspired"?
(4)Lexi B.
What can I say? Another neighborhood staple. I often find myself craving their lettuce wraps & sweet potato fries. Great brunch on the weekends also. Their specials change every week and you can't beat a $4 make-your-own-bloody-mary bar. The staff is friendly and if there's something NOT on the menu (within reason) and you reeeeeaaaallly want it, they'll make it for ya. Awesometown!
(5)Jeff S.
Far and away my favorite bar and grill in the Wilmington area. The menu is delicious, they have plenty of specials, the beer and wine lists are nicely robust and the rennovations they completed in the summer of 2011 were amazing. Wait staff is always nice and friendly and its great for brunch too! Warm cinnamon buns are brought out upon arrival and it only gets better from there. I cant recommend this place enough. Excellent place for watching football too! Plenty of seats around the bar and the tv's are nicely blended in around the bar area. A+
(5)Laura M.
Call ahead and go for Sunday Brunch. Just do it. You won't regret it AT ALL. I just ate there yesterday (and it was a mad house, which is why I suggest calling ahead), and holy crap was that a pleasant surprise. AND, whatever you do, be sure to get the home fries. Also, you get complimentary cinnamon rolls, and they are to die for. I am a breakfast fanatic, and this was a WINNER in my book.
(5)Alexa R.
My mother, sister and I went to dinner here last evening, excited to see the menu upgrades since the owner of Harry's Seafood Grill and Harry's Savoy took over. It was absolutely packed, which is a good thing. The three of us were seated in a booth, as I had requested and our server was perfectly nice. She forgot my mother's wine, so we had to flag down someone else to bring it. Then my soup was cold. Then they did not bring the baked potato my mother ordered. Then she needed a fork, which took two requests. If you are looking to junk out, this is your place. I had a cobb salad, my sister had a sesame chicken salad and my mother had the grilled salmon with two sides. By the way, a charge of $1.50 for a baked potato is insane. Especially when it doesn't come the first time around. Wilmington does not have a whole bunch of solid, casual eateries and diners will always flock to Kid's because of their specials. I can tell they are trying to capture a new audience with some of the menu upgrades (lobster mac and cheese, sliders) while still keeping the classics everyone loves.
(3)Kaitlin L.
This is one of the only options for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday in Trolley Square. Run by the same people who own Kate's in Newark, the food / atmosphere is pretty similar. Everything about here is just ok, but hey, they will feed me on Sundays!
(3)Haley G.
(4)Carissa L.
(4)Van C.
Ordered from the bar around the lunch hour. Quick and prompt friendly service, nice atmosphere. Ordered a cheese burger and fries and it came out very quickly and was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I would definitely stop back in when I'm in the area.
(5)Mel K.
(4)Gwen M.
(2)Kelly C.
(5)Mike C.
Delish!

(1)Lise L.
(5)Stephanie L.

(4)Mark G.
(2)Nicole B.
(2)M L.
2.5 stars
(3)Denise T.

(4)Deborah R.

(4)J A.
(3)Ben F.
Fun place for Wilmington where the choices are a bit limited. Big fan of the hashed browns but was a bit upset at the latest visit to see that the "crown maple flapjack" had been dropped from the menu. Always seems to be a good crowd though and the experience and atmosphere are pleasant.

The best buffalo chicken sandwich in Wilmington. The nachos are awesome as are the potato skins. The crowd is so so, and we really only come here for dinner or after Point to Point. They also serve pretty cheap Bud Light Aluminum bottles.

The best burgers in town especially on Tuesdays- they are half priced! Sweet potato fries are awesome. We sat outside the last time we went.It was quite lovely. The service was good. The owner was there that night & ha schmoozed with the clientele

Had dinner there tonight. Clearly their food is up a notch. Delicious!!! Wonder if it is a new chef or a chef "inspired"?

What can I say? Another neighborhood staple. I often find myself craving their lettuce wraps & sweet potato fries. Great brunch on the weekends also. Their specials change every week and you can't beat a $4 make-your-own-bloody-mary bar. The staff is friendly and if there's something NOT on the menu (within reason) and you reeeeeaaaallly want it, they'll make it for ya. Awesometown!

This is one of the only options for breakfast/brunch on a Sunday in Trolley Square. Run by the same people who own Kate's in Newark, the food / atmosphere is pretty similar. Everything about here is just ok, but hey, they will feed me on Sundays!
