Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Measuring this Buffet against all other buffets - this place is TOP NOTCH. I could not get over how great it was. There was a HUGE amount of variety and I don't think I was disappointed with anything I tried. Buffets shouldn't be able to have that much good food at it - it's dangerous. The sushi was fresh and there was a TON to choose from. The soups and the dumplings were almost as good as any sit down restaurant I have been to. There were so many delicious choices I couldn't even begin to name them all. I would come back again and again - but next time I need to come prepared wearing pants with an elastic waist band.

The sushi is very good and a surprisingly wide selection for a buffet. They don't have any intricate or exotic rolls, but the ones they have are good. Normally these buffets are ok, but this one is very good for the price. I usually go for the lunch time price and pig out. Again, it is a buffet so do not expect exquisite food, but it is very good and quite worth the money.

I was taken here from PA boarder area for some chinese buffet eats. Was very pleased and look forward to when I can go again. Soon I hope So much of a variety.

My friends and I decided to stop here for dinner on an impromptu road trip and I'm glad we did. It was late and we were surprised with the wide variety of food they served. The price was on point and friendly service to boot! Would not hesitate to eat here again if I ever find myself in the area.

I think this place has gone down hill. Its not bad, but not as good as it used to be. Its biggest perk is being very reasonably priced.

Sometimes, I wish I could install a few extra stomachs, especially for a buffet place like this where the selection is extensive. The per-person cost is rather high but I did enjoy the hibachi and sushi bars. There were so many types of sushi that if you got one of each, you'd almost have to stack them in two layers on your plate! Also, the ice cream is really ice cream, not the soft-serve kind found at other Chinese buffets.

This is an extra-ordinary Sushi and Japanese buffet with unbelievable price. My husband and I are gonna drive from Philadelphia to this place whenever we have 1-2 hours to eat out. They have the best of everything, including a full dessert buffet. The Sushi area was a festival of nicely prepared Sushi. I love the place and strongly recommend it to every Sushi lover.

I don't understand why these places do so well. The food is very sub par. The only reason I've ever even gone here is because they cook at your table. It's a kids think certInly not and adult thing. The only time I have been there is during a kids birthday. Overpriced and not good.

I love Chinese food. Trust me, I do. This place is a Chinese buffet and has myriad selections. Sometimes I feel it would have been better with fewer but intricately made options. Chinese food, like Indian (my native), Is supposed to be served steaming hot. Everything here was so cold. There was very little salt in everything. It would be really bad to say but I did not like this place atall. They should give their menu a little thought. Extra star for sushi. The sushi was good.

Clean, friendly (enough), great value, TONS of variety in both Asian cuisine and Sushi. It is a 45 minute ride for us, but SO very very worth it. I have to hold off one star. For those of us with diverticulitis, it is a "dangerous" game to play with sesame seeds. And, so very very unfortunately, almost all the sushi is rolled in sesame. Yes, I live dangerously and take my chances. The food is that good. Definitely, if you are thinking of Sushi Buffet, make the trip!

What can I say? This is the best oriental buffet I've been to and I can't help but keep coming back. Aside from good food and attentive waitstaff, if you get there right when "dinner time" starts (3:00 pm) the salmon sashimi is freshly prepared and is absolutely fantastic. I go to other Chinese places and get 3-5 pieces for $15, here I can get AS MANY PIECES AS I WANT for $15!!!!! Jesus take the wheel!!!

I went here for dinner, after work with a co-worker. We went for the sushi buffet. I want to make note that the pictures you see in this yelp listing, from Mary D. in 2011, their grand opening, they do not look that nice now. It's not run down, but the ginger and wasabi were in the corner of a buffet table, not on ice, like the picture. Also her pictures of how they lay out the sushi, is not how they do it now; very barren. This place is rather large when you walk in and turn to the left. There was a little take-out register and a podium that had a "wait to be seated" sign. We were promptly seated. The buffet area was probably the largest buffet I had ever been to; I think there were about 8 or 9 different buffet sections with various food. They had pig's feet, frog legs, general Tso's chicken, half crabs, crayfish, cooked noodle dishes, mac and cheese, egg rolls, random stuff. I only tasted different types of sushi, since my co-worked raved about it. The chef does not cut the rolls all the way through so when you grab a piece, with the tongs, you bring the entire roll with you. I filled my plate with different rolls and sat down. The crunchy shrimp wasn't that bad. There were a few others, can't remember what they were, that were so awful, I actually had to spit out in my napkin. Seriously. The eel tasted bad, like overpowering bad. The rice was super sticky because, it is a buffet so who knows how long the food had been out. I needed to cleanse my palette with some dessert. Something that annoyed me, none of the desserts, were labeled. So it was like a lucky pick of the draw getting something you liked. Wasn't impressed by any of the 6 things I tried and didn't finish any of them. I can see this place wasting a LOT of food. There were staff, these ladies, who would stand against the wall watching everyone. When you got up to get another plate of food, they would remove your used plate. When we got the check, they gave us fortune cookies. I don't really like them and I think most people just open them to get the fortune. This is not a Japanese place but a generic Asian restaurant. This Hibachi shares a parking lot with a grocery store, an A.C. Moore and a Kohl's, it was packed and hard to find a spot at 6PM. I guess the incentive for people to come here, is that the buffet is $13 something. But I believe in, you pay for what you get sometimes, so I will pay a little more for better quality. I will not return here for the sushi. The best place I've tried in Delaware for sushi is Sushi Sumo; it's further west on Kirkwood Highway, headed towards Newark. Clean, friendly, intimate atmosphere. Plus, when you get your check, they give you these little Japanese candies; melon or banana. Yum. And I will be updating this review if I get food poisoning, like some other reviewers experienced.

Fantastic! ! If u like chinese buffet..u need to come here. The food is fresh hot and very delicious. As soon as your plate is empty..it is taken away..the service ia great. You have to eat here to believe it. Filled up!! Yum yum!!!!

A very good buffet. I don't understand the bad reviews. I feel that you're mistaken if you're expecting five star cuisine from a Chinese buffet. You go to a Chinese buffet to eat many different types of decent to good food. This buffet strongly delivers. They do what every Chinese buffet does but they try to do it just a little better. There are roughly 12 islands worth of food. There are the obligatory 'American foods' like fried chicken, pizza, and garlic bread as well as the typical 'Chinese foods' like General tso's, fried rice, and wonton soup. This place differentiates itself by a noodle bar, hibachi, and about 20 varieties of sushi/sashimi. The quality of ALL of their food is definitely above average. If you are looking for top tier sushi, expect to pay 30+ per person and stay away from here. If you are looking for a great variety of pretty good Chinese food with some bells and whistles for about $15 per person, this place fits the bill.

I have been to almost every Chinese buffet on the east coast, and this is my favorite. Food is always very good and hot. The seafood salad is delicious. The sushi is fresh and clean. A little pricey, but worth every penny.
(5)Andrew B.
Came here on a whim following a friend's suggestion. Me and some buddies chose this over Shady Maple. Boy, the gods were watching over us today. I started out with some of their NY-style pizza. Delicious. One of the best slices I've ever had. The way the cheese held the sauce to the dough... pure bliss on my tongue. My tastebuds begged me for more, so I opted for their jumbo wings with a side of fries. Superb. The meat slid off the bone and straight down my throathole. My stomach mumbled a thank-you, it wanted more. The second I saw their roasted chicken I felt a yearning I haven't felt since first watching Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Mouth-watering. The chicken was cooked perfectly, still smoking hot! Christmas came early in 2015. The food was so good here I didn't even need a drink. Next time I dine here I plan on trying some of their other options, such as their mac 'n cheese and apple pie. Strongly recommend. 10/10.
(5)Lan L.
Nice and clean place with fresh seafood and sushi. Taste okay, just like most of the Chinese seafood buffets. Nothing special, but worth every penny you paid. The beef noodle soup is good.
(4)Joshua S.
Really good sushi selection for a Chinese buffet. Stumbled on this place and my kids were happy.
(5)Dominick L.
There were so many selections to choose from, I didn't know where to start! There was lots of choice of sushi however I'm not a fan of raw fish. Everything I chose was great and cooked to perfection. Was odd seeing shrimp with their heads still on but it didn't slow me down one bit! The hand dipped ice cream was a great way to end the meal......definitely going back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a superior Chinese buffet. Before you get too excited let me start off by saying that the quality is simply standard here. However what makes this buffet superior is its selection and it's cleanliness. The sushi bar carries at least 3 dozen varieties of sushi (including a few sashimi selections). Then you have a full array of Chinese food. In the back is a grill where personnel will grill meats and vegetables for you. And yes there are even a few American favorites (fried chicken wings garlic toast etc). Also there are full time attendants at the buffet area who are constantly changing food trays and cleaning messes so that overall you find the experience to be rather clean.

I enjoyed this buffet place the most for their seafood: flounder steamed (used to be deep fried), threee kinds of shrimp (popcorn, steamed, deep fried). Sometimes they have roast duck or blue crab. The cold place section now has seaweed and tapiyoca soup. Not really a sushi person and they also have shishima too. Prices are higher on weekends.

For not a very big Asian food fan this place hits the nail on the head when it comes to this tyoe of food great food great price
(5)Hannah C.
My brothers and I came to this place starving, and it did satisfy our appetites nicely. However, this is definitely not the place to go to if you're looking for quality sushi. Hibachi offers a surplus of salmon and rice per sushi piece, however the quality is lacking. The rice is so thick and sticky that we were alerted right away that the rice probably came pre-made. The staff was not friendly, and like any other Chinese buffet, you leave the restaurant in a state of nausea and regret. If you're looking for a quality buffet, do not come here. However, if you're satisfied with the mediocre, go right on in.

Even though the name of this restaurant is "Sushi Buffet", giving us a feeling of Japanese style, it is actually a Chinese buffet with sushi. Usually I do not eat much sushi outside except I feel it is very fresh. The most value of sushi is freshness, so it is very bad to have it in buffet even put on the ice. The Chinese food here was good, but seafood was also not very fresh. The reason why I had dinner here was that my friends invited me to come here.
(3)George S.
I like it here. The prices are very low when I come for lunch. The food is pretty good but I would enjoy more vegan options. I like that there are sushi rolls without any animal products. Sometimes I see caviar on the vegetable rolls, and that's an issue for me. Perhaps some more rolls and dishes with tofu and vegetables would make me happier. I never leave this place hungry though. Service is always very attentive and friendly. :)

I visited here on a Sunday, which has dinner prices all day. To justify the higher cost (probably) well over half the options were some kind of seafood. It was not fresh looking seafood, but 'authentic' dishes such as deep fried body parts in super thick sauce. The typical dishes for a Chinese buffet were not there, or were very badly done. The meat was the cheapest cuts. The vegetables were withered and drenched in gooey sauce. Even the sweet and sour chicken, which is pretty foolproof and standard, was mostly tempura with a tiny piece of chewy something hidden in the middle. Having found nothing in the buffet, I went for hibachi. It was fresh, which it should be, but it was under seasoned. Everything was cooked together, instead of in stages to make sure the correct temperatures are reached. As a result, the egg was very dry and the vegetables were crispy. I prefer my vegetables that way, so at least I could eat them. I hoped the hand dipped ice cream would be okay. As I was going to scoop some, a work came by and dumped some more from somewhere into the tub. So, how old is the ice cream in the bottom of the tub? And where did the other ice cream come from? And why were there streaks of other types of ice cream in the tub? Ew. Before I left, I went to the restroom. There was feces on the side of the toilets. Two of them. On the handle to flush and the bowl and OMG ew. So, to review: 'authentic' dishes that are inedible to most diners, standard dishes cooked cheaply and allowed to stew for hours until they are inedible, lackluster food safety practices, and nasty, unclean bathrooms. Run, run away.

It's great to have this Asian-centric buffet option in the area. My parents decided to take me here after they'd been a couple of times. Set in the Pathmark plaza, it was kind of funny going to this new outfit, especially after having grown up with the stores that constantly rotate through the plaza. Anyway, the service is fine and attentive. They do speak Mandarin (and Canto as well I think), so that helps if you bring older folks who don't speak much English. The decor is decidedly Asian but it's nothing too glamorous, which is fine, since this is a casual buffet. The buffet area is in the center of the restaurant and is actually quite large with lots of selections, from fresh sushi and sashimi to hot Chinese-style food to American foods to desserts. There's also a noodle line where they'll cook up some quick stir-fry or noodle soup with whatever ingredients you pick out. Lots of people like to go for that. The quality is not bad for a buffet that must constantly rotate through items and has to produce a large volume of them. The hot vegetable options could be kicked up a bit, but most people go to a buffet for the seafood and meats. There are lots of sushi rolls and nigiri to choose from, such as your California and Rainbow rolls to salmon and squid nigiri. There are also select sashimi cuts that are not bad as well. It was surprising to see that they also had some homestyle Chinese items on the side, such as beef pot roast, soy-sauce marinated egg, and some dessert soups. The other hot Asian foods were pretty good, and they seemed popular. I didn't try the American-style foods. There is a large selection of cut fruit to choose from, and they were all sweet when we were there. Lots of pastries available, such as creme puffs or tarts, and of course, there's the obligatory ice cream. Overall, I think it's a solid place to come to stuff your face at under $15 per person. With the Yelp check-in, you get a special first-time discount of 10% from the check.

Ugh what else can I say. When I went here for the first time, I wasn't expecting the interior design which is actually very nice. Service is bad. I asked for a coke and my waitress came back with sprite. Didn't I say coke? When I was going back for another plate, right when I was about to get up, the waitress rushed the bill at my table. Is that a way to make me not get another plate and pay and leave? Worst of all, the food. Oh the worst I have EVER had. The main reason is that the food was very very dry and tasted awful. It seems like they just left it there for a few days. There was a large variety though, and the place is pretty big, but I've seen bigger and better quality buffets. What disgusted me the most was the ice cream freezer. Kids scooped ice cream with their fingers touching it and also adults. I found that very gross. The ice cream also looked like some one put their finger in and tasted some. I felt terribly sick when I got home, and was stuck in the BR for an hour I will not recommend this place to anyone at all. This place is terrible. I suggest you go to an actual restaurant if you want better quality food and better service. I will never come here ever again. If you are going for the first time, I do NOT recommend this buffet.
(1)Stephanie H.
Love this place. The name hibachi is slightly misleading since the hibachi is a small crappy little thing in the back of the main buffet area... But the fresh made sushi is to die for, and worth every penny. I checked over the selection on the regular buffet and it all looked fresh and stocked, but I wasn't there for that stuff really. Clean , nice looking interior (I didn't use the bathroom ..), and good food with a huge dessert bar included. Yeah..I recommend.
(4)Joshua V.
I love sushi buffets, if done right. All I have to say about the sushi here is "meh." Not that great, but edible. That being said, the hot food is pretty much up to standard with your typical Chinese buffet. This is NOT a bad thing, as the food was brought out fairly consistently, ensuring freshness (and not being dried out underneath the heating lamps). The soup station by the hibachi though is something special. The beef in the soup was so flavorful and tender. Definitely worth a try.
(4)Tom C.
We're normally not overly impressed with Chinese buffets, but this one was very good. Note that none of us touched the Western dishes so this review is entirely based on the authentic Asian selections (and not the quasi-Asian items such as General Tsao's chicken, etc.) The Udon noodle soup from the noodle bar was soup-endous and quite yummy (my kid's words). The black bean sauce clams were excellent, as good as I've had in various Chinatowns, as well as the stir fried spinach and green beans. The ma po tofu was quite good as well and they had a very good homemade chicken broth made with real pieces of chicken. Overall, the authentic Chinese dishes were well, very authentic, although the majority of the buffet appeared to be the usual Chinese buffet fare of Western and quasi-Eastern foods. The sushi selections were fairly typical of sushi buffets and nothing to get too excited about. The wasabi was mixed fairly weak, and there were more cooked items than sashimi. The seaweed salad was pretty good, although if one was to be picky there was perhaps a bit too much bean thread (the thin translucent green mung bean noodles) filler; more seaweed would have been nice.
(4)Dave W.
The word "buffet" usually turns food aficionados away, and with good reason. They usually have subpar food quality, with food that is dying in stream trays, and a staff that does nothing more than herd the cattle in and out. That's not completely the case here. The selection of food is impressive, with Chinese and Japanese stations, a dedicated Hibachi chef grilling up to-order requests, and dedicated sushi chefs making rolls, slicing nigri and sushi constantly, so there's always a great selection. There's some common buffet pitfalls here, like the bland desserts, and some odd food options that don't work, but as far as Asian buffets, you really can't go wrong.
(4)Stephen C.
Chinese buffets are all around like a pimple on a teenagers face and they keep popping up. This one was ok. Food was somewhat warm, even though you see the steam coming up from it. The effect of the steam table I guess. They do have a vast selection of sushi. Its your standard buffet items and some that i've never seen before. They had a "noodle bar" where they boil your noodle in front of you and put it into broth. They even have chicken soup with ginseng. I did sample that and suprisingly it was good. Service wasnt good. Had to wait for refills and plates being taking away from the table. I understand the waiting part for refills but not 5 mins after your cup is taken. The ice cream was not good, it was too soft and the location of the ice cream had a smell to it. Not good eats. Happy eatings!!
(3)Deanna G.
Much better atmosphere for a buffet than any others of its kind that I've ever visited. Good decor for once. Food: generally worth the price if you eat your money's worth. We're here mainly for the endless sushi. There's an udon bar but I didn't use it since there wasn't always a guy there to cook the noodles.
(3)Linz B.
Wouldnt exactly come here for sushi only. Not a lot of fish but tons of rice. No sushi. Mainly rolls. All food is pretty sub par. Ok for lunch but wouldnt come here again
(2)Steve C.
Well I was really hoping that this place would have been much better than it turned out to be. Atmosphere: very nice Japanese decor, clean and neat all around. This is the greatest asset they have. It's much like other Hibachi chains but it's very clean and well kept. Service: Well as many of you know, at and all you can eat establishment you tend to have limited need for a server. For the most part they just take your drink order and clear your dirty dishes. This is because it's mostly self serve outside of drinks (because you pay for the drinks separately, they are not included into the pay one price all you can eat few). With this said the customer service was good, the sever did her job, she was delayed once by an annoying customer that kept talking to her like she didn't know English. He kept yabbering on like "you go school?" "you like America, America very good". Then again what can you expect from a guy wearing smiley face pajama pants in a dining establishment. Maybe I'm being too hard on him, it's possible he was just hit in the head too hard as a small child. Anyway she handled him well and the greeter and cashier were very nice as well. By now you may be wondering why the 2 star rating. Well as much as the employees were very nice and the atmosphere was very good, the food left so much to be desired I couldn't live with myself if I gave this place more than 2 stars. After all, when you go to an all you can eat grill, they highest weighted area should be the food. The selection was subpar compared to many similar places I've been, but they did have most of the standards. The real trouble is in the fact the food was so poorly prepared and not at all fresh. Most of the food was dried out and obviously had been sitting there most of the day. I understand that it was probably not busy that day, but I shouldn't have to suffer for their lack of business on a given day. Maybe I'd feel differently if they put a 50% off sign up at the door with a note that said "stale dried out food after 7pm". In addition to be several hours old and dried out, there were other issues with the food that would deter me from returning. One, the fried rice was very greasy, to the point that I couldn't get past eating more than two spoonfuls, and I'm a big fan of fried rice. The clams were mostly all shells. When I put 10 baby clams on my plate, I was surprised to only find meat in 4 of them. Then I switched to the full sized clams and I found meat in 3 out of 5, better odds on the large ones but I also skipped over several obviously empty shells I saw in the serving pan. So sad, such a waste. All in all I out of about 10 things I tried the only things that were good was the seafood delight and Cajun seafood. The Cajun seafood was dry but still tasty. Pricing: $12.50 a person plus $1.50 for a generously sized soda. With a yelp check in you get 15% off your entires table bill so that makes it more cost effective. The price is very good but, you get what you pay for. All in all I don't see myself going back unless It was the only thing available (they are open on holidays including Christmas and New Years). Ill be watching other yelpers reviews hoping it gets better because it would be great to have a good all you can eat hibachi grill nearby.

Ok, reccomend grill, hot and fresh

I am updating the rating for this place. I gave it a 4/5 when the restaurant first opened. I visited this place again and this place turned into an average chinese buffet.
