Top notch food and people. That breakfast bagel was really worth the detour. The place is small but interesting. So is the neighborhood.

Two friends & I came here to switch up our usual breakfast routine. I got the burrito, which was delicious (in spite that they refuse to accommodate my egg white request). One person received the French toast & eggs, he didn't care for the eggs & felt that they overdosed on cinnamon. The other person got the French toast & bacon. He enjoyed both, but felt that he did not receive enough bacon for the price. As stated above, my burrito was delicious although I don't usually eat the yokes of eggs (I have always hated yokes, so this was a bother to me) I was told that they cannot accommodate this request. The inside is ok, the furniture is old & held together with tape. It's a cash only place, an ATM is up the street. The coffee is very good & they allow large to go cups. Very pricey.

Stopped here after finding it as a healthy locally owned option on Yelp! I strolled in around 1pm on a Saturday (an hour before close) and nearly all tables were taken. Our server was super friendly and the food was great. I took off one star only because it was a little pricier than expected.

Never got a chance to eat here because the menu scared me. $17 for a salad? $15 for an omelette? I understand and respect that "organic" is pricey but whoa. I ended up at to angellos luncheonette..

The only good brunch place in Wilmington IMO. Have liked pretty much everything I've ordered here. But the place is small so it does get filled up at times and may require a bit of waiting. That's the only negative I could find.

A simple place with little seating. Not a large menu for breakfast or lunch but has an amazing organic home made feel to it. FYI. Pancakes and french toast are only served on Saturday. Glad I left Wilimington on a positive eating note. I will definitely visit again if I am in the area.

I love the heart of this place. I always recommend it to people, explaining that it's a mother / daughter operation focusing on local and organic food. I really want them to succeed. I agree with the positive things people have had to say in these reviews. But I feel I must chime in on one of the negative comments I've seen pop up in some reviews - portion size. I've been there several times, and had never really had a problem with portion size until I ordered a wrap. My husband and I usually split wraps if we're getting food to take out, because there's always really enough for a small lunch for two. We are both petite but athletic people - it doesn't take big portions to fill us up. So we got the buffalo wrap one time, and also a soup as a side, for a quick take-out lunch. The wrap tasted great, as did the tabouli on the side. But as someone else noted, the tabouli side is about one tablespoon - a "taste" of it, really. But the portion of the wrap was really disappointing. Rolled up, it was the circumfrence of a broom stick (a small kitchen model). There was less than a tablespoon of ground buffalo in each half, and a scant few pieces of cubed tomato and lettuce. It was delicious! But so not filling that we each had to have a tuna sandwich within an hour. I was thinking as I ate it: "I understand that buffalo is a little bit exotic and probably an expensive ingredient, but if that's the case, at least fill the wrap up with a little more lettuce and tomato. Don't just leave half the wrap dry and empty - give me the illusion that I just paid for $12 worth of food!" I've been satisfied with everything else I've had here, and I agree with the positive things people have had to say - I just felt that somebody had to come out and say what has been hinted at a few times in these reviews, about the portion size of the wraps. Best of luck to Fresh Thymes. Update: On their Facebook page recently, they posted a link to an article on how Americans can't judge portion size. It made me chuckle. Guys, it's not us. I'm a petite, very fit, health-conscious person who doesn't eat more than she needs to sate hunger. I know skimping on ingredients when I see it. And I also know that it's hard to stay afloat in this economy and lots of restaurants are doing it. Just be careful with that.

I was really struck by the strong, excellent taste and local flavor of this breakfast/lunch place. The wrap I chose (the "Beach Wrap") reminded me instantly of home in California, as may have been the owner's intention. The owner team clearly puts care into all their dishes, as seen by the multitude of choices in the menu and their promise to keep everything fresh. Hope that more folks in Wilmington will discover this place!

the most low key and homey brunch place ever! the place isn't big.. but its VERY colorful! the service is great! and quite personable. I ordered the omelette and i loved it! they added something that was unexpected n i think its either thyme or basil.. i'm not good with my spices but it turned out super wonderful with that special zing. my boyfriend ordered the wrap~ the only downside is that the portion was extra small, it can't possibly fill the big guy's appetite. Don't think we'll order that again.. i felt so relaxed at this place and i think it'll be a great place to have tea to catch up with friends and what not, great sunday afternoon spot :)

"Eggs can only be scrambled". Weird. The food was enjoyable. Our table ordered the quiche special ($15) and several egg sandwiches. Good food. There's a To-Go section that carries cupcakes, drinks, fruit, eggs, cheese etc. No outside seating. About 4-5 tables inside.

What a fantastic find! Passing thru on way to DC from Boston. Organic food, vegan options -- I never expect to find my kind of food when traveling. Everything was delicious.

I've been coming here whenever I'm in the area--ever since it opened! The food is truly farm to table and is assembled with love. I've only had breakfast here so I can't comment on lunch offerings and it's always been consistently delicious! The mystery veggie or meat omelette is my go-to and I leave so full and happy. I'm usually not hungry again until after 4pm! The omelette is packed with fresh veggies, goat cheese, and the sides are fresh fruit, amazing fresh jam and great tasting toast. The way I see it, when I go out to breakfast, I want it to be better than what I can make ! It delivers. The owner is super sweet and is usually the one cooking. The coffee is delicious and there are sweets to take home too. Be aware ...it's a cash-only establishment. Just plan ahead and go early or on a weekday as seating is limited.

This place is great. Awesome options for eating healthy and decent portions. BUT THWY ARE A CASH AND CHECK ONLY OPERATION. I mention this because I couldn't pay with a card and they aren't very adept with dealing with cash transactions.. With a $20 meal ticket I couldn't pay with my card and only had a 20 and 10 bill. When I handed them my two bills the server took a 50% tip without asking for my intention!!! In no case should a 50% tip be assumed in a CASH ONLY OPERATION. Very displeased with this exchange and left a seriously bad taste in my mouth - despite the awesome food!! I'm only here for work, and this was by far the best meal I've had (Philly/Wilmington area). Wow, way to ruin a very satisfying meal. What am I supposed to do, ask for your tip back?? Wow.

A nice pseudo-fancy hipster spot in Wilmington. The breakfast burritos are delicious, helped greatly by the hot sauce. The coffee is fantastic, especially the bananas foster and chocolate banana nut flavors. It's a tiny place with old furniture and kinda high prices, but that's what pays for happy employees to sell you healthy, local, nonindustrial food. It's better than going pretty much anywhere else for breakfast. If you're into vegan stuff, there's plenty available to buy there. If you can spend many tens of dollars on groceries you could almost do all your shopping there. The staff is great. You can park right outside for free. Nice woodsy street with historic buildings. Cash only.

Had to give five stars! the effort and care they put into everything they make is 100% Very fresh ingredients! Wilmington could use more places around that care about our health and offer safe delicious food that tastes amazing and makes you feel energized for the rest of the day.

Fresh Thymes is an amazing fresh restaurant I will always look forward to going to! There healthy and fresh cuisine make me wanting more each time I leave. I couldn't ask for a better healthier option near me. The friendly staff are always great to see! Fresh Thymes is a great place to go on any occasion!

My favorite place in Wilmington. Great staff, great coffee, great food, adorable decor. I see that some folks aren't happy with the food taking awhile to come out, but there are only a couple of people doing all the cooking. Imagine if you asked your mom to make 5 meals at once...it's going to take a little bit! In my opinion, the food is worth the wait. I do have to say that I wish they were open on Sundays, but again, everyone needs a weekend. (If you need some extra hands on deck, let me know, Fresh Thymes!) Today I ordered egg and cheese on a sprouted wheat bagel, to go. The to-go container said "Happy New Year! Enjoy" which was so nice! The bagel came with a slice of grapefruit. Now, I would consider myself a bit of an egg-and-cheese connoisseur, and I have to tell you, this is the best one I've ever had. The egg was seasoned with the perfect amount of pepper, the cheese was gooey and unique from typical yellow american, and the bagel was soft and tasty. The coffee is delicious too, and if you bring your own cup, you can save $1.00 :) If you're looking for a place that feels like home and tastes like sanity, this is the place to be.

Just got another great smoothie from this place! The blonde guy is the smoothie master. I tell him a few ingredients, that I want it healthy and it always turns out perfect. They also have a eat in area with an organic menu. I've had their french toast on Saturdays, which is excellent.

Good place very wide reaching menu that all sounds good. The addition of grass fed local beef and organic chicken on the lunch menu is great. We got takeout and the service was very quick -- they made our sandwiches very quickly

The food is homemade and so delicious and creative. My ONLY 2 (very) small complaints are that: 1. Some of the portions are small 2. I wish they were open on Sunday.

This place is completely over-rated. Customer service is fine but food is half-decent at best. I went here with my mother And we both ordered a water and an egg and cheese sandwich... when I asked for ketchup, we got some weird tasting homemade stuff i couldn't even eat. The sandwich was served on what i can only assume the owners felt was a healthy english muffin substitute, but was just terrible. They have self-serve coffee, so you get a mug and go to the coffee station. Ok sort of different I guess... Except the coffee tastes like costco brand and when we got our bill it was ridiculously high for what we ordered. My mom was actually shocked at how expensive 2 sandwiches and coffees ended up being here, and we go to brunch a lot. I get that this place is supposed to be healthy and funky but for me it was just gross and over-rated. I've been to delicious vegan and vegetarian food places and this place just doesn't fit the bill. I don't typically like giving bad reviews but in this case it needed to be said... Sorry not sorry.

First off cash or check only!! I don't usually carry cash so I'm glad I had some with me the day I decided to go. I must say how very pleased I am with Fresh Thymes. The food was outstanding. We all had a slice of the most incredible peaches from Bayberry Farms which was a nice touch. I got the most incredible grill cheese and wasn't disappointed. Our server was super pleasant. The only reason for 4 stars out of 5 was the size of this place. It's so tiny. I think there was maybe 5 tables? in the place. It would be very easy to have to wait quite a while to get seated when they are busy. It is very nice though to have a place with good food that is organic. It's near impossible which makes me sad. I can find a mc d's on every other corner but have to hunt like crazy for a nice organic restaurant with vegetarian options.

Been going to this cafe for years, so happy they started making fresh smoothies. My busy long work days have become delightful because I can order a kale, ginger, apple, blueberry and strawberry smoothie. This perks me right up and changes my whole day. The smoothies and food are on the pricey side but totally worth it. I don't mind paying more for local and fresh food.

Was welcomed by such a friendly staff!!! Place is small and not very hard to find, though parking is limited so be ready. Everything is super healthy in this place and I wouldn't have it any other way. And the food.. I'm speechless.. Omg. From the little cup of fruit (strawberry, blueberry, apples) to the organic jelly, absolutely fantastic. I love the "Richard's mystery omelet"!!! I got it veg only and it was fantastic. She filled it with tomatoes onions spinach kale avocado peppers and cheese!! Absolutely killer. Even the coffee was perfect! Everything is extremely fresh and expertly prepared. This is an absolute return visit for me. Perfect. Thank you so much for the meal!!!

My wife and I went in for a late breakfast on a Saturday afternoon and luckily were able to be seated right away at the "community table." It was not hard to realize why this place was so crowded and we saw them regretfully turn some people away while we waited for our breakfast. They had great local organic coffee that is self-served and the people working at Fresh Thymes are all extremely friendly. The environment is great for a nice relaxing Saturday breakfast, not the place I would suggest if you are looking to be in and out quickly. The food is well worth the wait. I enjoyed the Iche Liebe Dich Omelet which was simply amazing. The combination of Smoked Cheddar, Stem sausage and Organic Sauerkraut were amazing but they take that flavor up a notch with some guacamole on top which ties everything together perfectly. The dish comes with two different types of toast and fresh fruit. f you are in the Wilmington area and looking for a nice breakfast or brunch for two this is the place I would recommend. They only take cash so keep that in mind. This is one of the best kept secrets in Wilmington but the food is nothing short of phenomenal.

Good coffee. Small place. We were seated immediately. Food took a while, which is surprising because it is a small place and there were not that many people. We were there on a Saturday. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, my DH a salad, and we shared the pancake special. I am not into "organic" and the whole "Whole Foods" thing, so maybe it is just me, but between all the whole grains and "fresh" food it seemed like they had sucked all the joy out of our meal. Though oddly enough, they could not accommodate a request for egg whites only. I ate my breakfast because I hate to waste money, but with every bite I had to keep reminding myself that "it's good for you" the way my mother would have whenever she made me finish my veggies. My DH also thought the salad, at $15, was really expensive for what he got. Good coffee. I'd go back for that. But I don't think I would order any food. And the place is too small to take up a table and just have coffee. So I guess we won't be back.

I'm not sure where to begin! I recently moved back to DE from CA and while I am missing some of my CA perks, the moment I read about this restaurant on Yelp, I had a feeling it could become my new neighborhood breakfast spot. It took me a longer than expected to finally get over there for a bite, but now that I have...they're never getting rid of me. Both times Jenn was cooking and Steph (Stef?) waited on me/us. The first time I went it was a weekday afternoon, just myself and one other customer in the restaurant so I took the time to ask about a lot of the ingredients. I felt like I was just visiting a friend's house and they were telling me all about the great finds at the farmers market that week :) SO fresh, SO delicious, small quaint place. I took my parents there yesterday and they loved it so much they wanted to go back today since they are open for the last Sunday of the month. In response to negative comments here are my thoughts.... 1) I always bring a sweater when I go out in the summer as most restaurants I go to are too cold for me in the summer with the AC on. I've learned that from living on this planet all these years. 2) Portion sizes are just fine for me and my family. We are fairly health conscious and try to eat responsibly, so it works for us. I also will pay the extra $$ knowing the ingredients are thoroughly researched to offer us the safest , ethically grown and tastiest food available. If you want large portions for cheap....head to IHOP and enjoy your GMO buffet. 3) They take reservations, any breakfast spot worth eating at should be packed on the weekend. Thanks ladies...you've made me even happier to be back in DE :)

The pursuit of moralistically organic, local, "healthy" food is a slippery slope. Some will criticize you on presentation, others on the quality of your preparation, and still others on the rigor of your descriptions and claims. For instance, when you describe the lox sandwich as having red onion on it, but instead serve it with yellow onion, that bothers people like me. I also find the coffee terribly bland but I prefer bold Sumatra. The prices are fine, no need to apologize there. My wife really likes this place, but to me, it's just......eh.

Love this place! Come here so often they named a sandwich after me :) This is about as good as it gets. Fresh Thymes is your friendly neighborhood place-what's even better is that everything is organic, fresh and tasty! Are you a vegetarian? Got ya' covered! Gluten-free-done! Meat eater or just eater of all things tasty - done and done! Their soups are delish! And it is always service with a smile from this mom n' daughter place- Jen and Jane are the best!

Holy Homemade Jam Batman! I'll get to that soon.... Dying to try this little jem and their jam. We arrive and self serve coffee in what looks like a random sampling of mugs from college dorm days to your grandmas dainty florals. Love it. We get a mystery omelet - surprise! And to die for raisin bread french toast. I have to admit while I LOVED the food and the fresh, local and organic ingredients my absolute favorite thing was the homemade strawberry jam. I kid you not, it was an addiction. Bright red and just pure heaven. I died and went to jam heaven, it was a beautiful thing. Love the Mom and Daughter operation. The need to sell that jam, but the gallon ful, sadly they do not.....yet! Grade: B+, jam on.

Food served with love. 5* for service; 5* for being a "happy place" with wonderful artifacts and motivational signs. My husband and I took the advice of another Yelper and ordered the smoked salmon sandwich, which, unfortunately, was too oily for us. I suspect the pesto sauce was heavy on the oil, and I think too much oil or grease was spread on the sandwich bread before grilling it. The apple cake I ordered for dessert was not that good either. Judging by the other great Yelp reviews, and the steady stream of patrons, it might have been an off day or we must have ordered the wrong things. I loved the mint iced tea, though, and love supporting women-owned businesses, so I'll try to return next time I'm in town.

My friend and I were visiting the area for interviews for residency. We googled a good place to eat and Fresh Thymes came up!! Thank god it did! We loved everything available on the menu. It was impossible to decided what to get. I got a salad and wrap combo, while my friend got a tomato bisque soup with lancaster garlic grilled cheese and a salad. Of course, we shared everything!! It was an amazing and fresh meal. I returned while driving from Philly to DC and had an amazing grilled cheese sandwich with apples. Luckily, my friend and I will both be moving to the area soon!!

Lovelovelovelovelovelove them! Everyone else has already summed it up nicely, so I'll just say that it rocks. A few things: [] Don't be afraid to call ahead for a table, especially if you're 4 or more people. [] The place is small. You will wait for your food. Good food takes time. [] Cash only! It's really wonderful. Go there. Eat well.

Very disappointing. Breakfast was limited. No pancakes as we went in a Thursday. Food was ok. Nothing special. Not worth the prices. Four of us spent $50 for breakfast. Crazy. Will not go back.

"A local, organic, seasonal food experience." This review is LONG overdue considering I went to Fresh Thymes in April, and here it is almost August. I'm stuck on a plane with no internet access, so I thought better late than never. (And now, here I am a week after I first starting drafting this, finishing up. Life has been moving very fast as of late.) Fresh Thymes is "a local, organic, seasonal food experience" located in Wilmington, Delaware. I found Fresh Thymes on the trusty iPhone map when searching "vegan" on a drive from Harford County, Maryland to Philadelphia. Located in a corner brownstone, Fresh Thymes is a small, neighborhood joint which boasts a bright and cheery interior. With around 10 tables, it can pack in a small crowd for their delicious and healthy food, coffee, and baked goods. I went for lunch in a rush, which is always dicey in these kind of places. They either have their shit together, or they try to pull off one of those "I'm an organic, vegan joint, and you will wait 30 minutes while I peel and dice each carrot with love while reciting a Buddhist chant." Luckily, this was no such place. I grabbed a table, looked over the menu in a hot second and placed my order - veggie wrap (it had a fancier name if I remember correctly, but I'm without internet access right now) with a side of tabbeluh salad and a hazelnut coffee roast with almond milk. The veggie wrap was fresh and delicious oozing with guacamole - a favorite of mine. The tabbeluh salad, however, wasn't all that great. I suspect it fell in the "raw food" category in which they "sprouted" the grain. This meant it was a bit hard and crunchy versus the soft and slightly chewy cooked version. I still ate it though. In fact I ate every last bite on my plate - greens and all. The coffee was noteworthy and that is coming from someone who couldn't tell a 7-11 coffee special from the highest end blend if someone slapped me with it. I really liked that coffee.... More than the vegan chocolate chip cookies I ate while on the road. And that is saying a lot. I love my chocolate. The cookies were not made by Fresh Thymes though, so the restaurant still comes out on top with winning service, healthy food and amazing coffee. If you are in the area, I definitely recommend dining at Fresh Thymes. Eat well, Carolyn

ok ok , so this cafe is the brainchild of my friend, but at least I disclosed it. I can honestly say that I've tried coffee all over this area, and it truly is the best here (burntish at Brew haha, thin at effocs, not bad at Javashots, just horrible at 5 doors down.) The food is as promised, taste-the-difference fresh. Tends to be fairly hearty food - local organic is not to be confused with lofat diet. They'll accommodate dietary needs easily. On the menu for kids: ants on a log, among other things. My niece was happy with that. And the chips.

Im not from here, but this place was a little slice of home. Good solid food line up and super friendly people. Colorful atmosphere and just fell in love with the tea kettles. Brightened that gloomy, rainy, cold Feburary day like whoa!

I stopped in here for brunch and was presented with a list of unique and healthy options to choose from. Since I was not famished, I opted for one of the lighter options: whole wheat bagel with tomato, guacamole, and basil. It seems so simple and yet it was so delicious! I will definitely be stopping back to try more items. The prices are very reasonable as well. Just be aware that they are cash only.

Thank you again yelp! Another find that I knew nothing about. I was in the city for a lawyer appointment. When it was over Wife and I had time to grab a rare breakfast together. Neither of us knew this part of town. I fired up the iphone, yelp, right across the street. Loved it, hope to go back. What really made me smile was they have a yelp sticker in the front window. Way to go guys, keep up the great work!

The food is mostly local and ultra fresh. Both times I've eaten here I've been struck by the difference in taste ... you just can't beat fresh food. Had soup and salad that were delicious. Wrap was OK and I also sampled a quiche that was pretty tasty. Note: There are vegetarian options and gluten-free items, but this is not a vegetarian restaurant and plenty of chicken and meat dishes. Atmosphere is pleasant: light and fun and not overbearing in a hippy dippy kind of way, which places that strive to serve this kind of food often are. Lots of artifacts by local artists littered throughout the place.

If, for any reason, you find yourself in Wilmington, Delaware, this place is an absolute MUST. You don't have to be vegetarian or vegan, because they offer meat. You do, however, need to be open to fresh, organic food. We came for brunch, and wow. Just wow. I had the Santa Barbara breakfast burrito, and it was delicious. I definitely could have used more egg, because the portion was on the smaller side, but I had also gotten some fruit on the side. And this is something I strongly emphasize: GET. THE. STRAWBERRIES. If they have any berries at all when you're there, get them. I can't even explain how good they were because I know I won't be able to summarize the taste accurately, but just trust me on this one. It was like a revelation, unlike any other strawberry I've tasted before. Also, be sure to call ahead because this place is teeny tiny!

While the menu is straight out of any hipster hangout in Williamsburg, NY or "fresh 'n' local" joint in SoCal, the friendly staff and down-home feel reminded me more of the Deep South. Love it! First, you have to try their coffee--if for no other reason than to get to pick your own mug from a huge selection. Pick whatever fits your mood for the day. Sadly, I wasn't able to give Fresh Thymes five stars in part because of the mediocre quality of their coffee. By standard restaurant standards, it wasn't bad, but given the atmosphere they seem to be trying to create, having great coffee seems to be a prerequisite. For my main dish, I ordered the Jim: a smoked salmon sandwich with pesto and spinach served on toasted bread with tabbouleh on the side. This sandwich is pretty awesome! I've never had the pesto/salmon combination before, but it was a great match (though a touch on the oily side). And the tabbouleh was light and refreshing--perfect for a summer day. Though I'm by no means the first person to mention these, two important things to keep in mind are (1) this place is cash/check only and (2) it's tiny, so call ahead.

This was outstanding and very unexpected. We were looking for a good breakfast and found this on yelp. It's all organic . I highly recommend the quinoa breakfast. I also tried the fermented salad (yes we made more than one trip). We tried to talk them into moving to California. Great place and I will be back....assuming I ever get to Delaware again!

Yumtastic food and friendly staff. it was not busy while we were there so can't speak to crowdedness exact to say there is very limited seating. I had an awesome omelette with onions peppers cheese sour kraut topped w guac. the coffee was quite good. staff was great w our toddler, giving him extra lemons to eat and amuse himself while we waited for food and they weren't upset about the crumbs on the floor. will definitely return.

The average trolley square brunch staple lies @ the bar you visited the night before. The pain of remembering gets drowned out by "hangover cures". Though I've had my fair share of next day comas I never ventured down to the corner of lovering and n Lincoln where my new favorite brunch spot sits . My car (Humberto) was in need of a fix so after dropping him off at union park I met up w/ CB and we wanted food and fast. I had heard such great things about this place so I decided to yelp and see what was what. We walked a few blocks in the mild breeze and were able to grab up a two top in the corner. This place has a quirky feel and would it right into (NoLibs ) if it were ever to relocate. Self serve fair trade local coffee from pike creek sits on the top counter and you can chose your own mug big or small . I was tempted by the bananas foster coffee; which was sublime. They offer natural sweeteners only which I like. I ordered the blueberry buckwheat pancakes and cb did two egg and cheese sandwiches one on wheat toast and the other on English muffin. We didn't wait long to dive into our dishes. My pancakes were amazing. Fresh blueberries bursting with flavor filled my palate and I'm usually not a fan if buckwheat these pancakes were golden brown and moist they needed very little syrup . Cb and I both enjoyed our breakfast. our tab was under 20.00 which is a steal for brunch . We both agreed we'd like to see the option for turkey sausage or bacon and maybe a breakfast potato or some kind of hash. Service is friendly, efficient. A very great way to start my Saturday.

Quirky atmosphere with delicious food and friendly staff! The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because their hours are not always convenient for the working population but I love them regardless!

Went here for brunch with the lady friend. Place is charming but it is a lil small. We had two wait ten minute for a table so we walked around. Really cute streets to walk down. Service was quick and friendly. I ordered the southwestern chicken wrap and she ordered a spinach and cheese omlet. My wrap was small but it was pretty good mostly because everything was very fresh. I got the tabouli salad and it was alright. Her omlet was alright, nothing special. It came with toast and some fresh fruit. Fruit was awesome. Spent $25 between the two of us so it wasn't that bad. Place only takes cash, which I never like. All in all, a good place that prides itself on being organic. I'd definitely come here again.

Quaint, organic (but not organic-prices!), creative twists on classic favorites. Don't judge any ingredients before you try them, as they are guaranteed to surprise you. Look up their hours before you go and call ahead. Best breakfast in Wilmington.

Love this place. We did breakfast on Saturday morning while in Wilmington for a concert. Banana Buckwheat pancakes were simply perfect. Great coffee. Fine service. Zero complaints.

Wonderfully kind owners! I came here two times, both times a year apart and the owner actually remembered my folks, kiddo, and I! Super sweet and interesting ladies, the mom and daughter both! Great artsy funky decor. The food is stellar. Fresh jam instead of food service packages. Fresh fruit on the side. The menus options are a great mix of traditional choices and delightfully unusual. Try the omelet with the sauerkraut, sausage, cheese and avocado: its strange sounding but simply heavenly in your mouth. Lets put it this way, I haven't been here in over a year, but I've been here two times while passing through Delaware and here I am a year later finally reviewing it cause I'm still craving that omelet again! I may have to make a special trip from Connecticut just for that omelet. :) also, if you can get a jar of the locally made sauerkraut they use, do it. You won't be sorry. Promise.

I can't count how many times I have been to Fresh Thymes, but every time is fabulous & yesterday was no exception. The owner made a wrap with everything I love (spinach, red onions, tomato, guacamole, bacon, & cheese) and it was a meal good enough to call my last! I always feel at home when I am here & it inspires me to work harder to make healthy options at home. Can't wait to return next Tuesday:)

Definitively make reservation... It's tiny! The food is good, but nothing extraordinary. The HUGE plus of the place is all the organic and gluten-free options they have. There's room for improvement, but the food is good enough that I will continue supporting their business. The addition of an espresso machine would really help their menu.

Hosts were rude. Food is slow. My kids could not stay inside because the temperature was so cold. I asked the host to turn down the AC. Her reply was she could not because the food needs to stay cool. She suggested that we bring a jacket to the restaurant. It's late July. Jacket? Really?! We were visiting from Georgia. Can't understand how this place got rated 4+ stars. The green soup I was offered made me nauseous.

Fresh Thymes is a neighborhood cafe with a pleasantly surprising & unique, healthy menu, with everything from local organic produce & vegies, to creative breakfast waffles. A community table brings people together. And Jenn, the owner, is just a fabulous neighbor to have. She gets involved in the community, and has become a wonderful friend & mentor. I would recommend Fresh Thymes cafe for healthy choices & the warm and welcoming atmosphere!

Every time I come here I am greeted by a warm smile, pleasant ambiance, and great food. Most (if not all) ingredients are local/organic and everything from their pancakes to their wraps are delicious. Fresh Thymes is filled with artwork, candles and CDs for sale by local artists. Owned and operated by a mother/daughter team, this shop is perfect for locavores. As a side note, their coffee is fantastic. Definitely worth checking out!

I imagine that (like myself and my family) once most out-of-towners stop here for a meal...and even those who go out of their way to hit this place a 2nd time...we all wish we had a Fresh Thymes back home...and that we would eat there all the time! It was a refreshing, joyful experience and I wish this business much success in the years to come...and it will be a regular stop whenever I come to visit Longwood Gardens in the future! Thanks for the goodness!

Went in for breakfast one morning awhile back and loved it. Pretty much got the "whatever you want" special, since my boyfriend and I both like to change menu items up quite a bit (add this, sub that, extra those). The chef/owner happily made the food to our liking and I remember an awesome omelette and some fab serve-yourself coffee. The bf was particularly pleased with his sausage-- it was a local Lancaster creation I believe. Their big draw is definitely the fresh and local food offerings. For the granola-types, this certainly will not disappoint. Seems very vegetarian friendly as well. The interior reminded me a lot of Bellfonte cafe, and made me wonder if it was the same owners, though I don't think it is. My bf only had a $100 that morning, which they could not break... we asked if we could walk over to the bank after breakfast to get smaller bills and they were fine with it. He even offered to leave me (!) or the hundred as collateral but the owners trusted us enough to come back. Like a good neighbor, Fresh Thymes is there!

I am in love with Fresh Thymes. I love their food, I love the atmosphere, I love their service, I love that they are truly farm to table. I love the coffee, I love the fresh fruit, veg and baked goods on the counters, the friendly hello's and smiles when I walk in. I wish I could marry Fresh Thymes, or at least to have enough money to have them open up shop in my house and cook for me every single day.

I was lucky enough to move into a townhouse on the same block as Fresh Thymes. The chicken salad sandwich is my favorite. Don't be afraid if you are not into the whole 'organic' thing... these ladies do it right. Cash only and pretty small... When the weather is nicer I wish there were more tables outside for sidewalk seating.

Only the best local ingredients, love in every dish, this place simply feels right. I particularly love the Brekfast Burrito, the salads, the soups...They have special soup days from 4-6 sometimes, dinner once a month, they even make dinners to go. Yum!

As a newly gluten-free person (snif), I deeply appreciated having not one, not two, but many options from which to choose! My savory crustless herb-cheddar quiche was tasty and perfect for brunch; accompanied by a spring mix salad, an apple slice, and some warm GF bread that actually tasted like bread. It's great to have choices with local and healthy ingredients, especially where those of us with dietary/allergic restrictions can feel welcome and not like we are weirdos. I also enjoyed the quirky, comfy decor and friendly ambiance. Good thymes!

I love these people and I love what they are trying to do here. I hope they get enough customers in Wilmington to make it work out. I am no vegetarian, but their vegetarian options are delicious and worth trying. The raw food is a real eye opener and surprisingly good. Just because they have a lot of healthy veggie options doesn't mean they don't have healthy meat eatin' options. Love those too ! Well worth a trip. I also participate in the CSA Farm share program that they support.

Small cafe with about seven tables so every diner receives personal attention. Fresh local food with rotating menus to include seasonal items, and always interesting variety! Extremely accommodating to special diets -- vegan/vegetarian, gluten, egg free, and you can be certain all foods are organic, pesticide free, healthy. As one of the only natural food restaurants in Delaware, the cafe is a valuable resource.

Their food is fresh, healthy, and flavorful. My favorite trifecta! It may be a little on the pricey side for what you get but keep in mind that it is organic. I love their breakfast sandwich with eggs, avocado spread, and sprouts. I only wish they were open longer hours.

I had lunch at Fresh Thymes today for the fist time. The reviews below intrigued me and I agree - very cute place (decor), very friendly and welcoming 'daughter', like the vibe of community connections and with regular happy customers. The food is fresh. I had the cold zucchini soup (would be more interesting if some of the veggie chunks were left in for texture, rather than solely liquid), and 1/2 sandwich wrap - the Chef Salad. My only suggestion is that the servings are too small. If you are going to have a 1/2 sandwhich (wrap), you should be using the large wrap; not the small. The small wrap, cut in half only has 3 bites. I was still hungry after eating that tiny sandwhich and the cup of soup. I had the Dan's BBQ sandwich to take home. It was VERY smokey and would have benefited from some sauce to moisten the dry ends and the bread. The 'side' of tabbouleh on fresh baby spinach was more like a garnish and not more than 3 Tablespoons. A serving is 1/2 c of anything so I was disappointed in the 'siide salad' of tabbouleh, which like the soup, coud have benefitted from some texture and color interest of veggie chunks, like minced carrot, cucumber, etc. Still, I will return. It's not often we have such special places to enjoy. Lisa PS - I also had a (huge!) piece of tri-berry nut bread and it was delicious for $2.50 - great bargain, but 1/2 size would have been satisfying.

Breakfast at Fresh Thymes is a treat. Fresh, local ingredients, friendly service, great coffee--this is the perfect place to stop for a leisurely morning meal en route to the Delaware Art Museum. As others have noted, the atmosphere is light-hearted, pleasant and fun. The place is small--seating for maybe 18? customers. But what great food. Make sure you try the local sausage!

Cash only.

I have had lunch here a couple of times and it's always a treat. Cool / groovy atmosphere and fresh food prepared to order. After the first visit you feel like family. Good people, great food and relaxed atmosphere.

Go there. Eat well.

Yum!
