It has been years since I have been here for breakfast, but my friend swears by this place. A group of 5 of us stopped in on Thursday morning around 8:30am. There was a decent size crowd there, even at this time. Our waitress was very pleasant and kept all of our coffee cups topped off. I had the bacon and cheese omelet. It was cooked just a few moments long for my taste. There was no skimping on the bacon. It was stuffed in there! The home fries were good, but could have used some more seasoning. Ketchup was required. My friend had the waffle and said it was really good. All in all for the price you can't go wrong here. I would definitely return.

Came here for breakfast on a busy weekend morning. The place was hopping, with plenty of people waiting in line for seats. However, the staff was quite efficient at seating everybody quite quickly, as tables are turning over briskly. We were promptly seated, and greeted by very friendly waitstaff. We had a very enjoyable breakfast. The menu has a nice variety of options, with something to satisfy just about anybody's taste. The new Tex-Mex scramble on the menu was delicious, and paired with a fruit bowl, This made for a nice healthy brunch. Our waitress was perfectly attentive, making sure we were comfortable and that our coffees were filled. We enjoyed a light and friendly ongoing conversation, but were left otherwise unhurried and unhassled. Delicious food, pleasant casual atmosphere, and very friendly staff. I will look forward to returning here for breakfast again.

My brother picked Crossroads for his birthday lunch. I had what was easily the worst burger of my life, and my brother ordered some chicken & "crab" dish. The food wasn't served hot and it was awfully bland and not worthy of fast food standards. But after a bad meal, I just usually "ban" a restaurant and not go back... ...Unless I have to go with my brother to spend his birthday in the emergency room as he suffers from the worst food poisoning I have ever witnessed. I've never left a bad review before, but this one was well deserved. Diners beware! The ole HoJo is a no go. Never again!

Coming from a Jersey girl who loves a good diner sesh, this place is sufficient. I usually only go here when I NEED breakfast therapy! Favorite meal: fried eggs, sausage, potato hash, french toast, and hot sweet tea-Mmmm! Staff is friendly and attentive, the wait for your meal is average, and the atmosphere is pretty comfortable. Great spot for Sunday brunch or to just munch a hangover away! Just be prepared for a line out the door

My wife and I love to come for breakfast and apparently so do a lot of others because theres a line out the door. Good specials and service. Recommend coming

Food was up to par. I asked for a waffle instead of pancakes for one of their breakfast specials and seemed to be charged for the special and a waffle on the side. If that was the case, I would think I'd get the pancakes too, which I didn't. In any case, food was good for breakfast. Service was prompt and host was very nice. We were in and out quickly.

I really like diners and we've frequented this restaurant a lot while looking for a new house in the area. The homemade soup is delicious and so are their cakes. I'm not a fan of their red spaghetti sauce. There's always a line to get in and while this place is good, it's definitely not the best. It may be the best in the area though.

First time here! Sunday after hungover 4th of July at 10am. This place was very active! Great food fast service nice atmosphere, I'm from nj and know a thing or two about diners/breakfast/brunch places. I moved to de last year and I regret not coming here sooner! Lots of food and prices are not bad!!!! I got the Seafood Bene and it was amazing!!!! I think I inhaled it! Two poached eggs on English muffin with spinach tomato and seafood cake topped with lightly seasoned hollandaise sauce Not overly salty like some places do with their seasoning. My bf got the big daddy breakfast and it was a lot of food! Two bacon two sausage home fries on the side and two pancakes. Our check was less than $20. I'll be coming back and probably make this my new go to brunch place. Can't wait to try their lunch and dinner

Came here on a Saturday morning after recommendations from friends. There appeared to be a long wait, but the line moved quickly and it was well worth the time. We ordered breakfast - the French toast with a side of bacon and cream chipped beef with a side of scrapple. The food came out very fast and the service was great! The French toast was a large serving and the bacon was perfectly cooked. The cream chip beef was creamy and the scrapple was thick, what more could you ask for?

this is my spot when I am in the mood for a home cooked meal but don't want to do the cooking myself ! they always add new items or monthly specials to the menu so you don't get sick of the selection - especially fond of the monthly menu as it tends to go with the season . the only bad things I can say about this place are that they don't deliver and don't do take out on weekend mornings but I understand why - they are always super busy .

Once again, I came to Crossroads for breakfast with my son and we definitely making it our breakfast spot Twice we had Nancy as our server and she has been awesome. Great customer service skills! Food was great! Like I said before I love the cornbeef hash. Great coffee! Great friendly atmosphere. Always full of customers!

First time visiting Crossroads and thought I'd check it out since the parking lot always looks full. My husband and I went in for lunch and were seated quickly. We ordered the beer cheddar soup which was too salty and had the texture/ flavor of Velveeta cheese. We ordered the Philadelphia Cheese steak and a Rustic Chicken sandwich. The cheese steak was dry. The Rustic Chicken was good. The coleslaw was too sweet to eat. I really wanted to like this place. Maybe I'll come back for a slice of pie but nothing more.

I love this place! They have great food, service, and prices. I have been eating here with my family since I was a little girl and their food never disappoints! Every time I eat there it's always packed with a lot of people showing that business is good! My favorite items from the menu would have to be their french fries, grilled cheese with bacon, cheesesteak, pancakes, and hot chocolate. I recommend for sure.

Stopped here with RJ and the peeps. The kids pizza looks like Ellios frozen pizza. We ordered the chesapeake chicken sandwich. The crab imperial which was supposed to be on it was dry, and the hollandaise was on the plate and not on the sandwich, and tasted like flour. My upgraded fries which were supposed to have cheese sauce and bacon had a few sprinkles of cheese and some bacon bits. Don't know why we didnt just stick with breakfast or a burger. The dessert was good, we all tasted the OMG chocolate cake and it was delicious.

I had breakfast he had Italian. We were both pleased! Clean. Comfortable. Friendly & attentive staff. Great prices. Easily accessible location. They have gained a repeat customer! Can't wait to try more items.

This is an A-1 diner. Nothing fancy but the food is good and most servers are friendly and efficient. Sometimes the seating line is long (particularly for breakfast on the weekend), but it moves fairly fast. The management team always tries to make things right if you experience any problem. Will continue to frequent this restaurant.

If I could give this no stars, I would. I was in town visiting family and wanted to catch up with some friends for breakfast. The line was very long, although it goes pretty quick. There were four of us and we had possibly the worst service ever. We were seated at 9:30, ordered by 9:40 (at the latest) and did not get our food until 10:45. No exaggeration. We literally ordered the 4 easiest items. French toast, waffle, eggs/bacon/pancakes, and oatmeal. Clearly the server did not put in our order and completely forgot about us because other patrons who got seated after us were long gone before we even had an opportunity to eat. I would have appreciated it if the server was honest with us and admitted that she forgot it but instead at 10:30 came by with some BS excuse saying, I don't know what happened to your order... Fail. I will not be returning here ever again.

Great food and if there is a wait, it's worth it, they get you in and out pretty fast. The desserts are all excellent and homemade!
(5)Rebecca S.
If you're looking for the same ol' same ol' then Crossroads isn't for you! If you want delicious food at a great price, then start driving!! The wait staff is fantastic, the good is high quality and GREAT! you can't beat the prices. The desserts are out of this world! No short cuts are taken in any of the food prep. Do yourself a favor and give them a try. You will not be disappointed!!

Outstanding piece of Americana. The Crossroads Restaurant can hold their own with any diner in the US. We frequently hit places like this while traveling, and this one is worth a return trip.
(5)Aaron W.
Solid diner, nothing fancy, this is the sort of place you goto after church on a Sunday, and you can take the whole extended family to. They moved through a very large line quickly, obviously being able to seat the twos and fours faster then the parties of five or more. The coffee is good and they take credit cards which isn't something you can take for granted in Delaware.
(4)Sean E.
Great place for kids or if you want breakfast for dinner. It's kind of like Denny's or Big Boy but better and with a personal touch. They have a big, varied menu with daily specials - Tuesday is burger night & usually the most crowded. I've never waited more than 15 minutes to seat 4 people even when the line is out the door. The blue-hairs freakin LOVE this place!! ;-)

I had surgery this week and can't go out and sit at a restaurant to eat, but I can't cook either. My boyfriend was going to get my breakfast from Crossroads, but the girl told us no take out for breakfast on weekends. I never heard of such a thing. Won't ever give them my business.

We love this place. Staff is always wonderful and attentive. Tuesday night is $5.99 burgers and they are awesome. Their French Fries are awesome. Save room for dessert they have delicious baked goods. Our favorites are the coconut lemon cake and the carrot cake. If you like ice cream try it with some hot fudge. YUMMY. There is a full menu and you get a nice portion. If you want to share an appetizer try the loaded nachos.

Visiting Delaware and heard about this spot from a friend. Reasonable prices, big portions, friendly staff! Thumbs up!

It normally would get 4 stars but the past few months the place has gone downhill. the food has slipped, and the service as well. Used to be a great breakfast spot. They had great hash browns. (there is a difference between hash browns and home fries) Anyway, was in there recently and the hash browns were nothing more than sliced up French fries, the scrambled eggs were a dried out mass of overcooked egg loaf. (It still baffles me that I can not get properly prepared scrambled eggs, no matter where I go!) The bacon was obviously left over from the day before, it appeared that it was overcooked yesterday and heated up today. The coffee was weak. Service was ehh, could be better. I am going to give them another shot, I am hoping this was a one time slip up. They were once a great spot, not sure what happened, but I hope they get back to their old habits.

Waffles were great! I do wish I'd gotten the egg nog pancakes...unfortunately I forgot to look at the specials and when I told the waitress I was torn on as to waffles, pancakes or french toast she didn't mention it. Second time I've been to this location. Good food, good prices, good service.

We usually go to Hollywood Diner, but Crossroads is closer for us. We dropped in for a breakfast. Line was out the door. The host assured us it would be 10 minutes or less. The line moved quickly. 9 1/2 minutes later, we were seated. We were pleasantly surprised at the creative, non-dinerish items like pumpkin lattes and a variety of fun pancakes choices. The older waitress gave that comfortable feel of home. A snappy and sarcastic server would have made this diner experience a homerun.

Crossroads is a friendly restaurant on a well traveled part of Kirkwood Highway. Do not expect anything exotic or trendy here. On the other hand, I would say the meals are consistent, the place is kept up well, and is clean. The wait staff always seems friendly. The food is not necessarily out of this world gourmet; however, it reminds me of good, home-cooked meals. I do stop here occasionally. One thing to be aware of: if you are under 50 years of age, you will feel like you are 20 years younger than the average customer in that place.

I stopped by for breakfast with a friend one weekday morning. I was surprised how busy it was, but we got seated right away. They have weekday special pricing, which will save you a buck or two on some of the meals. I just got eggs and breakfast meat. Sausage was very good. Coffee was not so good. Eggs were fine. All in all, not a bad place to stop for breakfast.

I went to Crossroads once for lunch and it was fine (I liked the variety of menu options); however, I went back there again for dinner and had a completely different experience. The dinner service was adequate but the food was terrible. First, they brought out a cup of soup that was room temperature at best. Due to the fact that the soup had seafood and should have been served hot, I returned it. The next cup that came out was an improvement at lukewarm. The macaroni and cheese tasted of pure butter, not cheese. The spinach salad was supposed to come with apples, candied walnuts, blue cheese, chicken and balsamic vinaigrette. It came with huge spinach leaves, not baby spinach by any means, the walnuts were plain and uncoated (which would have been fine had there been any other flavoring in the salad), the chicken was moist and warm but void of flavor, there were two slivers of apples and I was amazed at how little flavor there was in the dressing and the blue cheese. The rolls were good as they were warm and crusty. The fries were also pretty good. Overall, it was not worth the price and I was embarrassed after bringing friends from out of the area for such bad food.

My family loves Crossroads. I think my dad would eat here everyday if he could. I love the upscale diner atmosphere. The menu is varied and desserts are great! Employees are always friendly too
