Foods to Avoid at Applebee's for Diabetics:
If you are starting your meal with appetizers then make sure you skip the Classic Buffalo sauce, Honey BBQ sauce, and sweet Asian Chile sauce on your wings order. It is highly recommended to skip the appetizers if you are dining alone and instead build your appetizer keeping nutrition in check. Among the steaks, you must stay away from the Applebee's Riblets platter as well as Bourbon Street Steak at all costs. Shrimp 'N Parmesan Sirloin is also not recommended. Skip the sandwiches, wraps, and tacos as well. Desserts may be tempting but it is recommended to avoid them at Applebee's for their high sugar content. All the beverages except Iced Teas must be avoided as well to control your sugar intake.
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. You can rely on a few salad options though. If lucky, you may find low-sodium ribs as well at the restaurant.

Avoid Green Goddess Wedge at Applebee's. Broccoli Cheese Soup and French Onion Soup contain over 1000mg sodium and hence must be skipped as well. Skip all the chicken dishes and seafood at Applebee's except Grilled Chicken Breast and Baked Haddock without sides respectively. You must also skip Brunch Burger, Quesadilla Burger, Triple Bacon Burger, and Whiskey Bacon Burger at Applebee's. High sodium intake can be lethal for a high blood pressure candidate. Food Suggestions to Maintain Cholesterol Level at Applebee's
Typically not a fan of Applebee's, but was very surprised by the great service and good quality did received at the Wilmington Pike restaurant. Our waitor a very personable and even let us get the happy hour special despite being 5 minutes late. Totally don't come to Applebee's, but I will be returning here for a quick bite if hungry when shopping at the Concord mall.

The table where the host sat us was dirty and stunk of dirty rag and the tables feel sticky as if they polyurethane them over and over. The place smelled Musty, dirty carpet which ruined my families appetite. However, when I looked over at the bar it was sparkling. We waited too long for the food to arrive and it did not come out at the same time. My ginger ale tasted of sink water. The food was just okay. Perhaps this place is a good spot for chilling at the bar, but as for family dining, It's No Good! This place needs a good serious cleaning with Bleach!! I can only Imagine how the kitchen must look and it makes my stomach turn just thinking about it. Someone needs to go in and inspect this place to make sure it's sanitary. I will stick to the one in Exton PA.

Bad onion rings served with a vat of BBQ sauce. About $6 for a large Miller Light. Inedible chewy steak that had surely been frozen. Gross lumpy mashed potatoes. Chicken tenders that must've come out of a bag from the freezer. Need I say more?

My go-to stop when visiting the Concord Mall, which is right across the street. Despite all the negative reviews that this place has gotten, I am definitely a fan of this Applebee's. It's cleaner than the location in Havertown, PA, Holmes, PA and Bala Cynwyd, PA. Service is great, though it does get really busy during peak times. I love their 2 for $20 and 2 for $25 combos.

Stopped in for one of their lunch specials which turned out to not be that special... My daughter and I each ordered the Pick and Pair combo for $7.99 which came with a cup of soup, a breadstick, and a small salad (or a half sandwich). I seem to recall that not too long ago, you could get refills with the lunch combo but not anymore. For what you get, I will stick with other restaurants (i.e. Chili's) from now on.

I agree with the other 2 reviews about this place. Very poor service and treatment from this place. Went in with a group of friends and management told us that we couldnt order the 1/2 price appetizers and water. We had to order drinks. No where is that written on the menu or any signs showing that drinks had to be ordered with 1/2 price apps. After a complaints to the "manager" he made an "exception" to the rule this time. Really! He did us a favor by allowing us to order this way lol. Place wasnt clean, tables not cleaned off in a timely manner and floors where quite dirty. Happy eatings! Not here though!

Out waitress was blatantly racist to other patrons and wouldn't honor their own promotion. Awful! They advertised 1/2 price appetizers after 9pm. We ordered 5 apps between 2 people and water. She told us to take advantage of the special we couldn't order water, even though that wasn't written anywhere. I own a small business, and I am a big believer in running promotions with integrity. If you have a sale, have a sale, don't put silly stipulations on it. And if you do, put it in writing! Nowhere on the flyer did it say that. But, we ordered drinks we didn't even want anyway. Then we place our order, and the waitress tells us that 2 of the 5 apps we ordered "didn't count" for the half off special. Exceptions were not printed anywhere. The ad said "half price apps after 9pm", period. It's the old bait and switch routine. So we ordered something else. When she brought us the check, the waitress apologized for all the confusion, and then said if she didn't do it this way, people wouldn't tip her well. I thought this was incredibly inappropriate to say, to bring up tips to a customer, while also admitting she drove the price of our order up so she could get more tips. HERE'S THE WORST PART: After she said people wouldn't tip her well, she said, "well not you people, but you know, other... people" while deliberately pointing with her head to the two tables on either side of us which had black families. We could not believe it!

About Applebee's
Applebee is an American full-service restaurant brand popularly known for its signature Riblets. Applebee was conceptualized in 1980 by Bill and TJ Palmer in Atlanta, Georgia. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak.
