This is my favorite place in Smyrna to get pizza. The crust is thin and crispy with just the right amount of sauce. It is always just out of the oven hot too. This is a great place to take the kids for a pizza! I have practically ordered one of everything at one time or another from the Bella- Villa menu and I have always enjoyed it immensely. Besides the pizza I think my favorite thing on the menu is the Antipasto Salad. The Antipasto is piled high with Italian meats and cheeses. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Their subs are out of this world. Don't forget to save room for dessert the Bella- Villa is the only place in town to get a cannoli. If you plan on getting take-out on Friday or Saturday evening make sure that you are not in too big of a hurry this is a popular spot. And yes, it is too bad they do not deliver! Mangia!

Bella-Villa is owned by family members of the guy who owns Trevi Ristorante across the street and the two places couldn't be more different unless they served different cuisines. The pizza at Bella-Villa is not good. It's greasy, chewy (not is a good way), and bland. I've had pizza from there a few times now and the last time was certainly the last. It wasn't the bad pizza that has totally turned me away, it was the incredibly rude service. If you read another review here on Yelp, you'll see a reference to the older lady working the counter and phone as "Momma". She is a rude and miserable woman that only cares about the regulars. I've always thought she was a bit odd but my previous encounters with her were for just a couple seconds so I didn't think anything of it. However, the last time I was there, I had to wait a while because they had misquoted how long it would be when I ordered for pickup. I ended up standing there trying to mind my own business for roughly 10 minutes. She kept glaring at me and then proceeded to ask "You're not from around here are you?" Fair question. "No, I'm from Syracuse, NY". Fair answer, right? "Why you move here? To many people like you come in here, don't know good pizza takes time." I didn't say anything in response but I was only there because they told me it'd be ready then. She continued to grumble to herself until one of the regulars came in and then she was all smiles. The second he left though, back to grumbling. My order comes ready and she asks for payment. I hand her my card and she rolls her eyes, sighs obnoxiously, and stomps over to the machine. I guess she doesn't like paying credit card fees but that's the cost of doing business these days. If it wasn't already bad enough, she starts having trouble with the machine so she starts swearing (I have Italian family members so I know the good ones) and yelling in Italian at it. Then she starts yelling at who I can only assume is her daughter to help her while pointing at me and swearing under her breath. I was floored. Needless to say, that's not how you treat customers. DON'T come here unless you like terrible pizza or you want "Momma" to tell you how little she cares about your business.

I had a very bad experience with "Momma", who runs the joint. Now, I will preface this by making it clear that the food was still decent, but the service I received was awful. When I called to place my order, I could not hear "Momma" on the phone. I asked politely (and only asked once) for her to please repeat herself because I could not *hear* and I was met with a big scoff and she handed me off to another employee. When I finished placing my order with this employee, they hang up after just replying "ok, order number 3" to what I wanted. None of this bothered me too much at this point, as I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they were busy or such. However, when I arrived, I gave my order number, and "Momma" comes up and says very rudely, "oh so it was YOU on the phone?", and I was taken aback. She then proceeded to say rude and demeaning things, such as like mumbling "can't f---ing understand mama eh..." and, as we got to my total, with a angry face and a roll of the eyes, she says, "you understand 20 dollars?!". And all during that time I can hear her clearly bickering to herself or other employees about dealing with me, and it made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I could sense the customer waiting next to me was uncomfortable as well. I spoke with the friend who recommended the place to me, and has been going to them nearly since they opened, and he said that he has stopped going to them for a few periods of time because of this type of rude and unprofessional treatment, not just from "Momma" but other employees too. So, in review, the Sicilian pizza I ordered was pretty good, and you could tell the sauce was made fresh and is very unique, but be warned, "Momma" and her employees can be very rude, and without much reserve.

Bella-Villa has soups, and it has a small salad menu, but there is one thing at which this restaurant obviously excels: CARBS. Pasta, strombolis, pizzas, the whole works. Not a great place for a diabetic, which now that I mention it makes me think that it's not a great place for Smyrna, since - given the girth of the people I see around town - I am fairly sure that a sizable portion of Smyrna must be diabetic. That being said, the food is...OK. We came to celebrate a coworker's departure for greener pastures, and group-ordered pizza. It's the average, freshly-baked, goop-pie of a pizza you'll find in any small-town pizzeria. The IT guy at our firm is kind of quiet and soft-spoken, but I know he's a covert food snob. At the table I summoned his secret identity by asking him how he likes this food, and he goes: "Well, it's food." Carry on, my wayward son; well put. The entire restaurant reeked with the acrid odor of something burnt; guess someone had left a pizza in the oven too long. The tables weren't terribly clean, and the little plastic stand-up menu holders were sticky with the grease of a thousand hands. The lights were turned down low in an attempt to be stylish...or perhaps to hide some of the dingy décor. I felt like there should have been an arcade game in the corner of this teen hang-out, but instead they had a flat-screen TV up on the wall that cycled through a bunch of insipid factoids and cluttered adverts for local companies done by some graphic-design tyro. Our meal experience kind of lumbered along until we all looked across the table at each other and realized the pizza was pretty much gone (I know I didn't go after it with all that much gusto). The boss paid the bill and we left. Good times...?
