This cafe is more focused on bagels and sandwiches than coffee but that's ok. The bagels are made fresh and you can taste the difference. Hidden tip...if you get an iced coffee you can get a refill for free. It's out of the way for us but we like the customer service and the fair prices

I like the array of coffees they have. I only had the lox and creme cheese bagels and I like how much lox they put. Other places they skimp on it. Their bagels aren't hard either. Sucks that they close at 3.

Cool vibe and very friendly staff. Great variety of speciality drinks. Amazing Oregan Chai tea and baked goods!

Living in Wilmington, I rarely get to visit this place, but it's one of my favorite breakfast spots in Delaware! Good service, bagels, and sandwiches. I love sitting solo sipping some coffee or iced tea at the "bar". Free wi-fi as well if you ever want to come and do work or browse the web while enjoying your meal!

    - UPDATE: Espresso hasn't been great last about a week or so. I'm hoping its a broken machine they will fix soon. --- - Baked goods are way above average. - Wide selection of bagels, croissants, cookies - Hot chocolate was very weak and not "chocolaty" at

I read some of the previous reviews and was skeptical, but I'm always down to try the unique cafés. Regardless of other people's bad experiences, I say give it a try yourself. The food was great and so was the coffee. Just be sure to get in early because they may have sold all of your favorite bagels.

Where do I go for coffee? Surely not Whereabouts again. Which is a shame, the coffee was excellent! My coworkers got bagel sandwiches that looked amazing. Unfortunately, I had already eaten breakfast, as our initial plan was to go to Starbucks. But my coworker suggested supporting a local business instead. Which I agreed with -- I used to be a barista and coffee roaster at a small coffee shop. We were sitting at a table, discussing business plans when the VERY uncomfortable looking cashier came over and asked us to leave because it was busy and they needed the table. Okay... Except there were three open tables, two of which were larger than the one we used. We had intended to buy lunch, but didn't want to spend another dime there after that. I called and spoke with the business owner, and she told me it was common practice there to ask customers to leave. Frankly, if she were there and stands behind this practice, she should have come over to us, not sent the cashier. I would not recommend this coffee shop to anyone, there's a Starbucks and a Dunkin Donuts nearby with infinitely better service.

We have branched out - and now not only enjoy the bagels from here - but now eat their breakfast sandwiches. wow - they are great! The egg is a thin layer folded, kind of like a crepe but made with egg. Super yummy and very filling. All sandwiches are made to order - so you have the choice of bagel. The "Gabe" on asagio bagel is spot on. This unassuming cafe keeps surprising me with the quality of food and beverages!

Amazed this place doesn't have higher marks!! My second time in (I'd def be a regular if I lived close by). Warm environment, quick and friendly service. I've now had breakfast and lunch- impressed with both. Coming back this afternoon for a latte because they look amazing!

I've visited this café often with my husband, and it's our favorite lunch spot on a day off. The food and drinks are excellent, and the staff are friendly and competent.

Don't go for the coffee. It's in carafes. The flavors are childish. But the food is decent. Good breakfast sandwiches. Good salads. The place is frozen in 1994. The decor, the name, the coffee. But it's Glasgow, DE. What're you gonna do? They're doing their thing and people around here like it.

    - The staff is not friendly. Most of them act as if we owe them something. I've seen this attitude from the owner as well so it seems that it's the trickle down effect. The owner will be very friendly one day and then she won't even look at you the next..

Amazing bagels that are made fresh daily. Excellent coffee as well. Free wifi. The lunch menu is quality as well; the sandwiches and salads are very good.

The food- good! The owner, miserable. Gosh, she is just nasty. Someone below said off-putting. I go more with nasty. I have seen her talk down to customers, employees, asked customers to leave because they were "busy". Who does that? We no longer go here and I try to tell everyone I know, not to go here either. Her business makes it because she is in Glasgow, Delaware. If she were in NYC, she would be out of business in one month with that sparkling personality. I can't wait to see the day her business closes due her attitude and huge ego. It's a bagel cafe and half the time they are out of bagels. This is the one time I say no go to supporting small business establishments.

My boyfriend and I found this cafe on the way to the bank one day. We have ember ever been disappointed. The bagels are made fresh daily, and the different favors of coffee are so exciting to try. We now go out of our way almost every day for their breakfast and coffee.

Their coffee is pretty good, wouldn't recommend their lox, I'll just stick to a plain bagel next time.

I am a visitor to the local community and have frequented the cafe about 6 times. I sat at a small table and my quest left and I stayed about an hour total when I was asked to leave because they needed a table for others. I was still drinking my coffee.. I spent $21.00 this Saturday morning.. They do not need my business, besides what is a coffee house about...visiting with friends in a leisurely way... Looking to a more friendlier place to visit with friends....Sadly

If you're looking for breakfast sandwiches or a great sandwich or salad for lunch look no further!! Best bagels around!! They make them daily and they are perfect. The food is always fresh and tasty. Staff is nice and service is quick.

I love the soy lattes and lunch options here! Give it a try if you live or work in the area. They also have a rewards program.

A good variety of bagels, everything tastes fresh, and the interior is a pleasant surprise. Worth checking out!

It is a bit far from me, but I love to go there with friends for coffee it smells really good. They have syrups, but I like my coffee black with honey.

We have moved away from Delaware and the one thing we miss the most is this cafe. The cafe is laid back with quick and friendly service. The bagels are some of the best I have ever have. We actually drive the 1+ hour some weekends to pick up bagels for us to freeze. The coffee is tasty and I particularly like their holiday flavors and special lattes they whip up. I wish we could have moved this coffee place with us since there are none like it near DC where we are now located. I think this place needs to open a second location somewhere south of Baltimore...hint hint!

The food is great and so is their coffee and their service and I really like the atmosphere, but their hours kind of suck. I would love to sit in this coffee shop into the evening, and it's the closest one to me besides a Starbucks. I recently moved from a big city and the one thing I miss is coffee shops open past 7pm. Bear, DE has next to none- and I HATE that this place closes in the afternoon! So early!! But I will continue to go here for lunches and coffees! Good stuff, good service, not a fan of the hours.

They use styrofoam cups...BAD!!! Bad for environment and bad for your health. Bring a travel mug and urge them to switch to paper!

Friendly service in the morning, gourmet veggie cream cheese was delicious, bagel was awesome! Short wait time too - line moved quickly.

Very much a fan. A bit pricy and the owner's personality can be off-putting at times but the food is quite good and the bagels are the best I've ever had. My only complaint, besides the name, is the staff doesn't know how to properly say half the items on the menu. If you are going to use french words/places for menu items at least teach the staff how to properly say them. I have ordered by phone and gotten there to find the wrong sandwich and then had the owner say the name wrong when I arrived. Not cool.

Great little place that's a hidden gem! I go there every Thursday morning, and the owner now knows me, and my order. She always takes the time to chat as well. The rewards program is just an added perk. The only improvement I could make is free and open wifi.

This is no just a coffee shop..its their passion. I've been coming here for 4 years. They have the most amazing coffee creations (Rocky Road is my favorite) and absolutely amazing brewed coffee selections. Depending on the season and time of year, you will have two to three seasonal, unique brews and about three to four more standard, but exceptional brews. The owner is incredibly kind and very conscious of her business. Their sandwiches are amazing. I come often for a simple egg and cheese on a bagel. Their bagels are great too...I'm from NYC...I'm very serious about my bagels. Their pastries are also insanely tastey. The service is superb in every way. it's a cute place to sit back and just relax in. The atmosphere is laxed, cozy, and comfy. Just go. And by the way, AJ has been there since I've started coming. He is amazing at everything he does. Thank you.

A coffee house with no espresso or real macchiato (as opposed to 'faux'). Staff is not the warmest bunch. It's two stars because they have decent sandwiches w/clever names. ...but should not have coffee as their main mktg attraction

Visiting friends in the area and they took us here for breakfast. The coffee is phenominal! I got an iced coffee and I added a touch of cream, cinnamon, and nutmeg and it was PERFECT! My husband tried one of their hot blends and the smell alone made my mouth water and it tasted delicious! I probably could have drank it black. We each got a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. The bagels were fresh and they had a lot of varieties to choose from. I had the everything and my husband had the multigrain. So fresh they didn't even need to be toasted. And they cook their eggs on a flat top grill, no microwave eggs here!! All in all a great place to start our Sunday morning before heading back home!!

Love this place! It is a favorite breakfast spot. You can get a light, but filling and delicious breakfast sandwich and choose from a variety of bagels baked in house to have it served on. I love the sun dried tomato bagel. When you order coffee, you get the mug, and it's self serve with 6 or 7 flavors to choose from, including a decaf choice. You can get free refills of said coffee, so you can try all different flavors. They have a good system down, and they have your food ready really fast. You order at the counter and they give you a table number for when they're ready to bring your food. I think it's efficient this way. The cashier who waits on us for the majority of our visits is always very friendly, and we've always had a positive experience with the other staff members. The prices are very reasonable as well. Happy to see a small, independently owned business doing so well. If any of the staff or owner reads this, I'd like to say keep up the good work. My only suggestion would be directed to the owner: If there is indeed any truth to these negative reviews that speak of negative interactions with you, please consider changing your tune. Poor customer service is enough to chase most people away from a business even when the quality of what you sell is top notch.

Great place! Very accomodating and friendly staff. The rewards program helps get free sandwiches! Fresh ingredients, made to order, and overall really tasty food. Perfect lunch spot! My colleages and I come here all the time and we are never disappointed!

I love Whereabouts! There are plenty of vegetarian options, and as the food is made to order, vegans can alter the menu. The chai tea latte is also quite lovely. As it's only two minutes down the street, I often stop by with my friends for a nice brunch or lunch session.

Saturday 8am 06.02.12 Located in a rather tired strip mall, a fairly easy stop off Route 40 East. No curb appeal to speak of but plenty of parking. Nothing special about the atmosphere and the restaurant was clean with lots of space. The counter server chose to toss a photocopied menu our way, rather than spend a moment or two answering our questions (note: no line waiting). The drip coffee is provided in serve-yourself carafes, nothing very notable. The barista-made latte was marginal. The bagels were very tasty .. fresh, with the perfect amount of cream cheese. Prices were fair. Will always choose the independent coffee place over the big chains and gas stations .. but I don't think we'll be back :(

Bagels are the best in Delaware. No question about that. Fast friendly service. The coffee is also exceptional. Didn't have time to sit and eat but seemed like a very nice quiet place to sit and read, or get work done. Very impressed. Will definitely be back.

The first time we tried Whereabouts Cafe was because we were tired of the fast food breakfasts and the local diner which is just average. My husband brought two bagel breakfast sandwiches home and they were very good. The bagel's are excellent. Yesterday we decided to go in for a sit down lunch. I wanted to try one of their lunch sandwiches and chose the chicken salad on rye bread. Needless to say, I was not very happy. The chicken salad is really fairly large sized chunks of chicken with a few pieces of celery and very little mayonnaise. It was rather dry and because it's so chunky, would not stay inside the sandwich. With a little more mayo it would have worked fine on a bed of greens, but way too chunky for a sandwich. The majority of it fell on to the plate the second I picked up the sandwich. The rye bread was thick and obviously home made, but broke apart way to easily to sustain a sandwich. I ended up eating most of it with a fork. Plus the menu indicated that their sandwiches come with a small bag of chips or raw carrots. I got neither. I tried their unsweetened tea and it was good, however they need to use a little more ice. By the time I put my Splenda in and stirred it, the few ice cubes in there had melted. I do not believe I got what I paid for. Service was rather sketchy, the young girl behind the counter kind of acted like we were bothering her when we asked about their sandwich club. When my husband asked her what the sandwich club was, she said "it's a club" with no further explanation. My husband was kind of taken aback and showed it so she kind of turned it around and explained what it was. If they don't want to explain it, then make up a sign. Because of their very good bagels, I will go back, but I would be hesitant to try another sandwich and will probably just take out.

Love this place. I am very picky when it comes to my coffee and latte's, but this Whereabouts Cafe made one of the best vanilla/caramel w/half and half I have ever had. They offer quite a few breakfast sandwiches and a few other menu items. It does get very noisy in there, so studying was out for me. However, it could have just been the time of day I was there. I only wish they had longer hours. I can only visit them either before I head to work or on the weekends. However, I will definitely visit them again on the weekends.

Amazing little place. Cozy atmosphere. The staff is incredible and takes time to get to know their customers. (Owner is kind if vulgar, talks down to everyone, very unfriendly, but she's not there on Sundays so it's my favorite Sunday place) best best bagels around, have the manager recommend a latte, bring a book and enjoy yourself. Quite relaxing.

I stopped in for lunch. It's a nice little place and I was surprised how many people were there. Very low key. I had a wrap sandwich, which they tried to serve to another table. The sandwich was good (turkey and red peppers). My friend really likes the bagels, so I'll have to go back.

  • Arwen C.

The bagels are excellent. The management is horrible. The owner has a holier than though attitude. She detests customer comments (positive or negative) and always acts like she is too busy. Recently, she changed the name to "Whereabouts Cage." It is the most ridiculous name for a bagel shop that I have ever heard. And the decor is a mismatched pile of rubbish. It reminds of a thrift shop. If I could find bagels this good somewhere else, I would. However, I'm stuck going to this snooty, tasteless woman's bagel cafe.
