The atmosphere is a little lacking due to the proximity between the hotel lobby & open bar for receptions. We went to the LE Chameleon Restaurant on the other side of the bar before & were extremely impressed. We went here for an anniversary dinner both times. Luckily, we got in and done eating early before the crowd started at the wedding happening at 6pm. We were the only customers at 5pm. A nice touch was a requested custom colored rose at our table. We had the surf & turf. We were happily stuffed when we left.

I am surprised by the bad reviews Brasserie has gotten. I ate here last night with my mother and girlfriend. We are having our rehearsal dinner at the Hilton and wanted to sample some of the food before choosing our menu. The restaurant is separated from the lobby/hallway by a wall and glass partition. Once seated, you can't really hear any noise, as you are far enough from the check in desk. The setting inside is dark wood and dim lighting. We started out with the calamari and Cesar salad. The calamari was a little chewy for my taste, but I have had much worse. The dipping sauces were good, and it was nice to have something other than marinara sauce. The Cesar salad was very good. The dressing had more of a lemon taste than anchovy. Our server, who was excellent, recommended the steaks, as they cook them at 1600 degrees, which gives a nice sear/crust and keeps the steak juicy in the middle. We had the NY Strip, filet mignon, and the prime rib. We also ordered a crab cake to share. Everything was excellent. The strip was as good as I have had in Delaware, and I would rate it above Firebirds, The Rail, Walters, and Union City Grill. The only prime rib I have had that was as good in this area is at Harrys. The crab cake was also done nicely, and was all meat with no real filler. Just keep in mind, the prices are not cheap, but not overly expensive. The total for us 3 was $150. I admit I was expecting a whole lot from a restaurant inside of a hotel, but the next time I am looking for an upscale steak dinner and don't feel like driving to Philly, I will be coming here.

Ate here once before and remember liking it. This time I opted for their 3 course meal and it was 3 strikes. Crab bisque that was flavorless sludge. Short ribs that were not edible. A very old piece of cake. The best part of the meal was the asparagus. Atmosphere of restaurant would be fine minus event area next door.

Found fresh fare here. They serve a grass-fed certified angus beef petite-petite filet mignon (maybe 4 oz) with grilled asparagus and smashed potatoes. It was just right for the meeting with the lead project manager on the evening of arrival (travel day). Neither of us actually licked our plates, but it pretty much looked like we didn't miss ANY morsel! Tasty, fresh, served to order. They made a decent cappucino for me, too!

Not the best prettiest place to eat. The restaurant is in the Christiana Hilton. Looks like part of the lobby was blocked off for the restaurant. A little divider wall separates the dining area from the walkway to the lobby and meeting rooms. The staff is usually polite and do a good job. Breakfast is average, the eggs are fresh and the omelette are well made and can be done with all egg whites if asked. HOWEVER, the great thing about this place that will keep me coming back is dinner with the steak. The high heat oven they mention when bringing you the menu is important. The steaks are cooked well. The high heat will sear the meat and create a beautiful crust and is flavorful and crisp, but not burnt. The quick sear will also seal in the moisture and flavor leading to a juicy and mouth watering steak. I have enjoyed their filet mignon on several occasions. While there is some variation in the steak over the times I have eaten there I have always been satisfied and never felt like I was cheated out of my dinner money.

This hotel restaurant is like stepping into a time warp - on the menu, it's apparently 1972 or so, a feeling that the tatty, self consciously "elegant" decor only reinforces. If the service weren't so slapdash and inefficient, the Brasserie might qualify as a kind of camp classic. What saves the place from being fairly dreadful is that the food - dated, mass-market, and likely microwaved to within an inch of its (long) shelf-life - can actually be kind of tasty. The prime rib was the real deal, as rare as ordered, flavorful, and set off well by the horseradish side. Fresh asparagus was nice, although serving it on the same plate as the beef hopelessly mixed the hollandaise into the meat. My companion's Veal Oscar was as rich and over the top as that Johnson-era staple should be, with big chunks of crab and well-cooked veal. So if you're stuck at the generally rather dreary Christiana Hilton, you can at least know you'll get a potentially fun - if expensive and badly-served - meal.

This restaurant is part of the Hilton Wilimington/Christiana, I stay at hotels alot, and i hate hate hate hate hotel dining. Actually, I hate room service. I was forced to eat here, due to the fact that it was 9:20pm when I left work, and I was sick, and didn't want to go out and wait for food. so...first, the hostess at the restaurant appeared bored out of her mind and completely uninterested in life. ..i couldn't handle this, so I asked if there were TVs and she said I could take the menu and eat at the bar (The Hunt Club) .. perfect. I ordered the Crab Cake Burger with a side of asparagus with hollandaise sauce. Crab Cake Burger = dry dry dry dry. needed mayo or sauce or something. they did a good job of thawing out the crab cake, at least that wasn't still frozen. The hollandaise sauce was too thick and kinda goopy. The only thing that was cooked right was the asparagus and that it was reasonably priced. $14 for my meal. typical hotel food. blah.

I wasn't entirely disappointed. The seared tuna appetizer was better than most that I've had, and the tropical cobb salad was easily a meal and had lots of fresh fruit, avocado, and 3 very large shrimp. The crab quesadilla was also plenty of food to stand on its own as a dish. Unfortunately it was filled mostly with unripe tomatoes. According to my dining companions the steak salad was a winner. One of our steaks was overcooked, and though our server offered a new one, we declined and instead had our dessert for free, which was the tiramisu and also surprisingly good. I'm not sure if it's mostly due to the fact that the meal was free because we had a gift certificate, but I had a relatively decent meal here. Maybe I just made the right choices.
