Been going to Mike's since they opened, and they have the best cheese steaks in the area BY FAR. I live about 45 minutes north now, and still go out of my way to stop in whenever possible. And to reply to the guy who dinged them on not being open on Sat/Sun, it's a family-run business and they need a couple days off just like everyone else. BTW, I don't like it either, but I totally understand.

I stopped by Mike's today to get some variety from the cheese steaks I usually order from the Country Maid deli two storefronts away. Country Maid sells their subs for five dollars on Mondays and Thursdays, but today being a friday, I decided to check out the competition. Mike's is a small establishment but they can make a terrific sandwich. I ordered a small cheese steak with peppers and onions, extra cheese, as per one of the tips on the Yelp page. As it was being prepared I watched the hustle and bustle of the restaurant as customers sifted in, picked up orders and paid for them. The staff, five or six people crowded around a small prep area, seemed to work together well and didn't bump into each other going about their activities. I paid for my sub and soda with my Visa card, a nice thing to be able to do when many sub shops are still cash only. As for the sandwich itself? Delicious. The "small" size was a generous portion. The bread roll was fresh and the meat was cut nicely and cooked perfectly. The peppers were juicy and flavorful. The cheese was present in just the right way. Furthermore, the sandwich wasn't soggy or greasy, a huge plus. I was pleased with my experience at Mike's and I'll definitely return. They craft a mighty fine cheese steak here and I look forward to my next visit.

Pretty good cheesesteak. I consider myself a connoisseur of fine cheesesteaks and I was happy with this one. Get it with cheese wiz to make it more like a Philly.

The upside? Some of the better cheesesteaks in Delaware. The downside? How can you take a cheesesteak place serious when they are closed both Saturday and Sunday? Sadly, it makes me want to support other businesses who want my business. I guess it makes the Country Maid deli two doors down happy. The lack of weekend hours costs you a star Mike's.

Was waiting for my car to be done at the shop next door. Didn't except much from a smaller deli, but my hot Italian sign war absolutely amazing! !!!

The sandwiches are very good here and the cheese steaks are better then most in the area. My favorite is the Italian Hoagie, they are very generous with the meat and add the lettuce, tomato, etc under a layer of meat so that it stays on the roll. That is a big plus for hoagie construction. They also slice the coldcuts to order for each sandwich. that way you are getting nice fresh meat and nothing that's been sitting out that has had a chance to dry out. The place isn't much to look at inside and out and it took my awhile to stop in and try the food but I am glad I did. I always walk in and order but never had to wait long to be attended to and it never took long for them to make the food and send me on my way. They are right around the corner from my office and I always recommend them to my coworkers.

One of the most underrated cheese steak establishments in Delaware. I have been going to this restaurant for years. I am glad to say that the fresh quality has been consistent throughout my patronage. Do not be fooled by the small size and lack of showy displays. This is place is great for take out lunch or dinner. The steaks are flavorful, not greasy and combined with fresh baked bread.Exactly what you look for in a steak sandwich.
