I was honestly a little surprised about this place. Inside it was simple, tables and chairs and a counter to order. I ordered a chicken gyro to go; which came with a side and I got soup. The staff was friendly and since I was the only customer there, my order didn't take long to make. I'm not even a soup person but it was delicious! Some kind of creamy chicken, maybe. The gyro was alright; it was so stuffed full of veggies, it was hard to close without everything falling out though. The tzatziki sauce wasn't bad; it was chunky and I liked that. If I'm in the area I might stop in to try something else.

Incredible value for the money and the food is really delicious! First thing you notice when you walk into the small shop is how incredible it smells. Once you get past that you are completely charmed by the adorable young gentleman at the counter. I've been to Mediterranean Grille twice now and the lamb gyro is just so damn good I can't move past it. I'm not a big lamb fan either. The first time I ordered the gyro platter to go which included delicious super skinny fries and a fresh (no bag lettuce here) Greek salad. The second time I went with friends and we dined in the cozy but clean and bright dining area. I ordered just the lamb gyro this time which still came with a small side. I went with the pasta which turned out to be a creamy kalamata olive and feta penne. Not my favorite pasta salad but it was unique. This time I also tried the spanakopita, a delicious savory pie stuffed with spinach, cheeses, onion and herbs. The pie was a small triangle one as if it was made on the spot for me and the first bite was so piping hot I burned the heck out of my mouth which only stopped me for about 44 seconds. I've already decided I'm trying the Shrimp Athens next visit!

Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Or the food I got that day just didn't hit the spot for me? But I honestly did not enjoy my experience at this place. I don't know if I'm just not clear, or if the person taking my order was not attentive, but this is what happened. I was looking at the menu, asked about the Combo which included the gyro meat, spanikopita, and Moussaka. Well I was curious what the moussaka was and asked more about it. Well I said I'll have "that." With "that" pertaining to the combo. Turns out, when I got back to my place, I only got an order of the Moussaka and a side of pita and hummus that I had to order separately...maybe it was me and not being clear and should have said I'll have that combo we talked about for a few minutes..... The moussaka was decent, but there were no sides, rice or anything to go with it. Just a 2inx2in slice for a pretty expensive price I must say. I guess I was disappointed in the fact that I didn't get my combo that I thought I had ordered. On to the Pita, I don't know if i just got a bad batch of pita bread, but the pita bread I'm used to getting is soft and grilled. This one I got was hard and difficult to chew! As for the hummus, it was pretty bland and needed a bit more salt. Let's just say, that meal ended my day on a bad note....well to be optimistic, at least I lost some weight that night.

Good we excellently prepared and delicious! Generous portions and great staff. We picked up a to go menu as this is close to where my husband will be working. Can't wait to try something different next time.

Very good greek food for the price. I had the greek gyro platter. The salad was very fresh and the gyro was delicious. The lemon soup and pita was ok. Inside isn't glamorous. It was a bit garlicky.

Mousaka? SOOO GOOOOD! My friends and I just ate at this amazing place.. All what we ordered was so yumm! Eggplant parm, chicken parm, moussaka, and fettuccine alfredo.. There's nothing I can complain about.. Rich in flavor and very light at the same time.. You won't feel heavy after the meal.. Owned and run by a friendly Greek family.. This place is a must!

Good food, great people! Looking from the outside in, this great restaurant doesn't have much pop or pizzaz. Don't let that sway your decision if it's food you're interested in, the dishes more than speaks for themselves. I LOVE the gyro platter. I've had other items on the menu and I've always been pleasantly surprised. The people that work there are super nice and they're as professional as it gets! Don't skip the Baklava for dessert either, it's a must-have.

Delicious chicken soulvaki sandwich and comes with simple but tasty Greek lemon chicken soup. Quick service!

Great place. Polite staff. Authenticity of Greek cuisine is simply fantastic. The pork souvlaki is my go to!

This is about the only choice for Greek cuisine in Newark. Fortunately, it is excellent! Run by the former owners of t'Delphia, this is a rather small venue, with about 4 tables. The eating, however, will surely bring customers and the need for enlargement. The quality of the ingredients and preparation just demand a larger more formal place. This is a "must try" for any lover of Greek cuisine. The Greek Salad is huge and the gyro meat delicious. The menu extends far beyond these staples, to such entries as Shrimp Athens, Seafood Pescatore, and Calamari. The current informal atmosphere does make it easy to talk with the friendly owners.

I agree with Bill. Everything is fresh and prepared with care. The portions are pretty big and there are lots of healthy options. I get the gyros fairly often and they are always consistently good. My parents got the cheeseburger and liked them a lot. And like Bill said, the owners are friendly people.

Fantastic place, excellent staff very friendly people and the food is top notch! I eat here every day, always fresh food, the flavors are incredible and there are a 100 different dishes to choose from! Not only does it taste great, so is the price and the amount of food they give you in every dish!
