The Chinese menu totally tamed my stomach! Even better than most Chinese restaurants in Chinatown of Philadelphia.

I had a nice dinner in this restaurant on Lanterns Festival of 2013, which was a Chinese traditional festival. In this festival, we ate a food called glue pudding as a part of celebrating. This delicious food was mainly made by glutinous rice flour, but it was quite complicate to cook it. Luckily, this Chinese restaurant offered this food at that day. It left me a very good memory. Maybe they would offer this dish occasionally. Also, I had another special dish at that night. It called asparagusplettuce, a light green vegetable originally from China. It tasted very sweet and fresh. It is a carryout restaurant, so they do not have many table for large party. And the price here is very reasonable.

I was stuck at the Courtyard by Marriot on business and because of a blizzard, working from the hotel. I looked up Chinese delivery and this caught my eye because of the mention of the 'other' Chinese menu. Someone actually took a picture. So I ordered the Boiled Sliced Pork in Hot Sauce for delivery. A dish I am familiar with from Chicago Chinese, specifically Lao Sze Chuan. It took 30 minutes longer than they said, there were no utensils, the food came on a piece of cardboard in a thin plastic bag, the delivery kid was schocked I wanted o pay with a credit card, so I had to write it down on the greasy receipt....but the dish had some real flavor! Lots of Pork and Broccoli and a really nice amount for 8.95! If you love good Chinese, like hardcore Chinese that is spicy, check this place out!

For chinese food, the flavor of some dishes here is good, and the price is reasonable. But for some people, it might be too oil and salty.

My husband and I order carryout from China King at least once a month. We've never been disappointed. I especially like their white rice and spring rolls... He likes the egg rolls (always gets at least 4) and the boneless spare ribs. We both love the beef with broccoli. Only had delivery a couple of times, but it was fast and the food was hot... We're about five blocks away. Our only issue is that sometimes the person taking the order isn't familiar with the menu or doesn't speak/understand English well, be sure to have them repeat your order and give you a total before you hang up.

To the average American (me), China King seems like a typical Chinese take-out joint with its sun-faded pictures of general tso's chicken and mushu pork above the cash register. But glancing past the usual white menu with red and green font on the counter reveals the SECRET AUTHENTIC MENUS. While the blue menu is hard for me to understand without someone to translate it, there exists a partial English translation (in yellow). This menu lists a selection of delicious Sichuan-style dishes at a very reasonable cost. Some of my favorite are the "fish boil in spicy sauce" and garlic pork. 9 out of 10 of my Chinese grad student friends will agree that China King has the taste per dollar of any Chinese restaurant in the Newark area.

They have authentic Chinese dishes! I don't have to go all the way to Philly for authentic Chinese food, especially at such a reasonable price. Really?!? Honey walnut shrimp for $9.95, are you serious? Love it! Places I've been to charge $14.95-$23.95... so yea, I've bought my favorite dish for over $20 one time.If you want good Chinese food come here. Don't expect a beautiful decor, the typical fried rice, Lo mien, you get mediocre, of course. You can never go wrong with fried chicken wings. Stir fry eggplant, yummm. Not sure about what to order? Ask. they are nice.

This is my new go-to Chinese restaurant. My wife and I had the Ma Po Tofu and the Double sauteed pork and an order of steamed dumplings. It was out of this world. If you have the chance order off the "authentic chinese menu" I can't vouch for how authentic it is, but it isn't your typical Chinese takeout fair. I would recommend this place to anyone who wanted a filling, delicious meal, especially if you like spicy!!

dao kou chicken is the best. And I can eat eggplant here, which is great. My friends usually go to this restaurant. And I highly recommend this to you.

The food was ok to good depending on what I ate at the table. It took 1 1/2 for us to get our food and one thing was missing. Called back and they said they would rush it to us since it was for the kids. We received that a half an hour later. Total time to receive entire dinner 2 hours. I wish I could say this is out of the norm but it isn't. It will be along time before I order from them again unless I find a better place close to us.

I've tried 3 chinese restaurants in the area since I moved here in March and this is the only one I wasn't disappointed by. In fact, it's the best I've had in the last 3 cities I've lived in. I ordered the hunan beef and my husband, General Tso's chicken. Very different recipes and they were absolutely wonderful as far as chinese take out goes. not too greasy, very flavorful, the right amount of heat. Delivery was fast as well. I believe I've eaten here once before and it wasn't memorable but I might be confusing this place with another. But this time the food was as good as I could hope for being a chinese food lover my entire life. I will be ordering from them again. Just keep in mind what to expect from chinese food, it is a greasy type of food so if you're looking for something healthier, go with Japanese.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
