Quality of Product: Excellent. For several years, it has been my exclusive place to purchase cakes/treats for special occasions. Every product is fresh and delicious. Carrot cake was a hit - very unique flavor. Have not tried the coffee.Cupcakes are okay, great for addition to main cake, but better off walking down to Sassafras Cupcakes on Main St. Pricing: Decent assortment of goods and appropriately priced to represent quality. Cash/credit cards accepted. Seating: Bright and unobtrusive seating area mostly used by a dedicated party planner and/or regular patrons. Service: Attentive and caring. Have never felt rushed when ordering and were very helpful. A few times, they have helped me bring my purchased items to my car. Area: Located across the street from the main shopping center and beginning of Main St. Bustling strip leading into the university campus. Parking: Meter (you can pay with your credit card which is a new feature) and you could also park across the street at the Newark Shopping Center for free.

Cannon's is my family's and my preferred bakery in the Newark-Wilmington DE area. Growing up, for my birthday parties, we almost always ordered the cake from Cannon's, and were always pleased with the results, both in terms of decor and taste. This Christmas, I received the opportunity to sample some of Cannon's other baked goods. For our Christmas Eve party, we ordered cookies, a pumpkin roll, and an apple pie from Cannon's, and were very satisfied with them. The cookies were delicious and flavorful, and had a variety of textures, satisfying everyone who tried them. The cake portion of the pumpkin roll was well-seasoned, and the cream cheese filling was smooth and creamy, with the slight tinge of sourness characterizing well-made cream cheese fillings and frostings complementing its sweetness. I'm not a huge apple pie person, but I did try a few bites, and it was quite tasty, as well. One thing to note about Cannon's is that they don't carry as large a variety of baked goods on hand as some other bakeries in the area (e.g., Bing's). However, based on my experience, the goods that they do carry are of good quality, and I always prefer quality over quantity. For this reason, when I'm in the area, I'll continue to choose Cannon's over Bing's to satisfy my sweet tooth's needs.

The cake I just bought there for a party was very dry and had very little taste. It looked pretty and the icing was good though. It was the first time I have gone there and due to rave reviews I have gotten from family I gave them a try. I don't think I will be going back there for cake.

Best bakery in the area. The prices are very reasonable and the cakes taste like old-fashioned goodness. The carrot cake is especially great, just make sure to order one at least 3 days in advance so that you can get one that they make and not one that they purchase (the bought one isn't bad but the one they one they make it awesome).

Cannon's did the cupcakes for our wedding, including delivery and rental of their huge cupcake display stand. This was months ago, and our friends are still mentioning how delicious the cupcakes were at our wedding. We initially picked Cannon's because they were the most affordable cupcakes that offered delivery - we just got really lucky that they are also really tasty! They looked beautiful, tasted great, and the team that took our order and put everything together for us could not have been nicer. We would definitely recommend Cannon's!

I absolutely love Cannons! I've been buying cakes from this place for years. They are my go to anytime I need a cake. I keep it simple with either yellow or chocolate cake but chocolate is my FAVORITE!! Icing is perfect, not too sweet and cake isn't too sweet and it's moistly dense and not crumbly and dry. They are great at duplicating designs...every time I order I cake it's custom, no boring rose border cakes for me! I wish I took a pic of every cake I bought to show because their website doesn't do them justice, they should really remove a lot of those dated designs.

I have had Cannon's baking custom cakes for us for the last two years. My most recent cake from them was my wedding cake and dessert spread. These guys are super creative, delicious and affordable. We will be going to them for years to come!

Great flavor , beautiful designs ... they delivered my wedding cake and it was leaning to the left and the refused to do anything about it ... Just bad bushiness ... The crazy part of the whole thing is I never asked for a refund and they still treated me poor ...

I have been a fan of Cannon's for over 20 years. Since I was a little kid, this is where I wanted my birthday cakes to be ordered -- so I knew that when planning my sister's bridal shower, it had to be our childhood favorites. I ordered a full size sheet cake: half confetti (the bride's favorite) and half marble (chocolate and yellow cake) for only $70 (a great price to feed about 75 people with quite a bit leftover). I could not find a design I loved on their website, so I emailed them the graphic from the shower invitation and figured it might look plain, but at least it would taste good. They put the image on the cake, copied the detail, and made one of the prettiest cakes I have ever seen. My sister loved it, it looked fabulous, and it tasted great.
