Back when this place opened about 20 years ago, it was a great place to eat and I have been going there for many, many years. Back then, I would have rated it 5 stars. I've dined there recently (was craving a steak and was too far out from going to my usual favorite steakhouse which is located in another county). It was a Friday night about 8pm and I was expecting to have to wait to be seated. We were seated right away. The restaurant was busy, but should have been packed for a Friday. This shows how the place has gone somewhat downhill over the years and more people are going to places like the Texas Roadhouse and Long Horn Ranch or Outback. I ordered the delmonico steak (my favorite cut). I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked more like medium. But I didn't complain. At least it was still pink inside because I can not stand a steak that is too well done. My meal came with two sides and all I really wanted was a baked sweet potato. I declined the other side. Our server was overly pushy about me ordering something else to go with it because "I was going to have to pay for it anyway". I found her pushiness and comments to be a little rude but I let it slide. My fiance ordered one of the specials, which included a filet mignon with a shrimp kabob. The menu showed the picture featuring the kabob with chicken, shrimp and red peppers on the skewer. When the order came, needless to say, it looked nothing like the mouth-watering picture featured on the menu. There were five small shrimp (dried out looking) on the skewer and that was it. When our server came by to ask how everything was, we gave the standard nod and then my fiance asked about the skewer of shrimp. She stated "Oh, well that's the way we make them here"....and that was it. That was the LAST time she came to check on us except when it was time to get the check. And BEFORE she handed us the check, she was very pushy about us ordering dessert. We explained we were too full and that we would just take the check. She continued to push until we finally said "no, we really have to leave now". My theory is that getting customers in to eat at Lone Star is not to issue, evidently RETAINING them is. I guess they have to try and sell you as much as possible while you're there because odds are you will not be back again when there are so many other (better) choices around.

Well now I know why lonestars all closed in NJ. We used to love it so for my birthday today I wanted to go and hubby took me to Delaware to go to dinner at one. Well my steak was good but his was awful he got the porterhouse which what they are calling it and charging 26.99 for a Tbone which was full of grisle and chewy. We told waitress but nothing was done about it except sorry. My baked potatoe was overcooked and the cheese cold on top not melted?? Who wants that? Needless to say we never have to drive over bridge to there again, outback will be our go to place from now on!!!!

Well, not much good to say about our visit. we ordered the following: chicken tender, 11 oz sirloin steak & chicken breast. From the time after we ordered the food took over 35 mins to be served. The steak was ordered medium and was way over cooked. It was actually tuff and very hard. The chicken tenders were rubbery and couldn't even be eaten. Last, the chicken breast was dry. I'm not sure why the food was so bad or why it took so long to be served since it was a slow Tuesday night. Its safe to say we won't be visiting Lone Star again. I prefer Long Horn anyway.

I haven't been to a Lone Star Steakhouse in a loooong time. I was pleasantly surprised with all aspects of our lunch experience. Our service was speedy and courteous, and everything came out as ordered (despite the fact that our server didn't write a thing down, which instantly makes me nervous). The manager stopped by our table to ask how everything was, which I thought was a nice touch. My bacon cheeseburger was cooked as I'd requested and the food was served hot, but not as though it had been sitting under a heatlamp for 20 minutes. My co worker had a chicken breast, with spinach and a baked sweet potato...which looked delicous and apparently was one of a few lunch specials. I would say if you're on 13 South it would be a good bet for lunch.

The only reason I give this place 1 star is because they DONT have HALF STARS.Ok where do I start. We were a group of 6 African Americans. 5 Adults and 1 child . Place was basically empty but we were herded to the rear back corner of the restaurant by the male white hostess. Where there was another black elderly couple , which was seated in a booth (which seats 5 to 6 people ) there was plenty of room for them upfront He must've noticed our displeasure on where he had seated is so he sent the black hostess in to reseat us when reseating us he then changed his mind again then placed us in a room in the very back of the restaurant. Secluded from civilization The explanation given to us was that the tables out front only seated 5. Like it would've been to hard to move a table or chair to accommodate our party. The men's bathroom was dirty and full of flies. This gave the impression of going back to the 1960's. What a disgrace !!! One of our party members refused to eat at this establishment . This place should be boycotted!

We went here on Easter Sunday to avoid the crowds and overpriced "holiday menus". On that count, we were successful since there was only one other party there when we arrived. Our waiter, who looked to be about 20, was not particularly polished, nor experienced. He arrived to take drink orders, and our party of five ordered two glasses of wine, a vodka martini, and a Canadian Club and Coke (one had coffee). He returned to the table a few minutes later to say that they didn't have any Indian Club. I told him it was Canadian Club, and that it's Canadian whiskey, but to give me VO and Coke if they didn't have it. He was back again, this time to report that they didn't have VO either, so finally I went with Jack and Coke just to make it simpler. Apparently there isn't a real bartender on the premises on Sunday afternoons, so the servers make their own drinks or get someone else to help them. (On the way out, I stopped at the bar to see what they *did* have, and there sat the granddaddy of all Canadian whiskeys - Crown Royal.) We ordered an appetizer to share, and side salads, all of which were good. The appetizer was a Filet Queso dip, although there was very little in it that resembled steak. Tasted pretty good nonetheless. Somewhere along the way, they usually bring out a loaf of bread and butter, but apparently our waiter decided we didn't need one. It wasn't until our main courses arrived and I started looking for more butter for the loaded mashed potato that I realized we hadn't gotten it. Steaks came out next, and they were actually very nicely cooked (Medium for all four beef eaters), and were tender and tasty. Potato and veggie side dishes were all good as well. After our plates were cleared, the waiter appears again with the check in hand. Again, he must have assumed we had eaten enough, and never so much as offered dessert. I've never been to a chain restaurant where the dessert was not the big upscale item, but apparently management doesn't stress it to the servers. He told us all the dessert items he could remember, and we ordered those. Not especially gourmet, but the three cheese cakes and one Brownie Blast were tasty. All in all, the quality of the food exceeded our expectations. Grade = A- Service, however, was just not "professional" caliber and left us wondering if our waiter had ever not ordered from a menu board. Grade = C Bottom line - the food was very good, but service was very diner-like.

I had a hard time deciding whether to give this place 1 or 2 stars, but the more I think about it, the more 1 star seems appropriate... at least until these folks get their acts together. My scoring decision was difficult because, well, the food was actually pretty good. Hubby and I ordered ribs and baked sweet potatoes. Our salads were very good; I liked the basil balsamic vinaigrette -- delicious and different. My ribs were a little dry, but otherwise fine, and the sweet potatoes were awesome. Our waiter was good, checking in on us at the right times. So here's why they only get one star. After we were done eating, we went to use the facilities. First of all, you could smell said facilities about 30 feet away. The restrooms were off of a dining area, and we felt very sorry for the people who had to eat in there. One of the toilets in the ladies room was plugged up with stuff and was the likely source of the odor. Moving to another stall, the toilet seat had what appeared to be a worn or chipped area on the seat. On closer inspection, the blemish on the seat was actually... um.. yeah... Anyway, if they can't take care of the bathroom, it makes me wonder what's going on in the kitchen. Fortunately, neither of us became ill, so I'm assuming all is probably well. May have been an off night for the bathroom sanitation department, but there's no way we'll be going back.

This restaurant is in its own lot on US-13 southbound. Parking was ample but I went there during a slow period so I can't tell if it is adequate during peak hours. When you order, you get a bucket of peanuts to snack on while waiting for the food. That's just like Texas Roadhouse. I can't judge their steaks since I only had a Bubba Burger but the seasoned steak fries were good enough to eat without ketchup. I thought the burger was pretty good too, although not as large as I expected for a steakhouse burger. The downside is food preparation seems to take longer than it should. This is when the restaurant wasn't busy so I can't imagine how long the wait would be when it is busy. In comparison, Texas Roadhouse in Bear was speedy even when the restaurant was packed. Other than that, I had no exceptional issues with the service.

I was hungry, so I stopped here for lunch on a trip down to VA. This is a chain of steak places that tries to capitalize on everything Texas - but it falls short. The place was empty at lunch time which was just as well as I wanted to get in and get out. My waitress had other ideas though. Apparently the only other table in the place was a 4-top of elderly folks and they were tearing into the waitress when I sat. The manager had to come over to fix whatever it was that she screwed up and I should have cut and run then, but no, I was hungry. After she took my order I had to wait an unusually long amount of time - she just disappeared. The place was empty and to make it worse, there were a couple of other waitstaff there but they avoided looking in our direction. The food finally showed and it was fine and all - but the waitress was still M.I.A. She eventually showed up when I asked the bus for the check and her tip reflected her performance. They get 2 stars for the food-
