Have had much better experiences at the Tuna lately. Must recommend the Waffle fries that come loaded with shrimp and crab meat. A good place to come, especially during the week (Al's closes at 8).

Was their last evening.... Two of us made the mistake of ordering mussels. Twelve mussels,on a plate , large ,tuff, tasteless ! Since they were on a plate bus girl spilled broth when giving me them to me. Not until we were done did the waitress come and ask how things were! Use to love this place and took friends there because of previous experiences. Not in a hurry to repeat last mites dinner!

Under the previous owner this place had a very nice Sunday brunch. Not so much today. Came in about noon over the Labor Day weekend. No one was up front to greet us. After we were finally seated we discovered that the brunch was a very reduced menu with food that had been out for as much as three hours. No omelette station, no salad, just cookies for dessert. Doubt we'll be back.

Great beach dinner - nice very casu environment with great food and a nice bar. I recommend you put it on your list for Bethany! Try the famous waffle fry appetizer - it's a winner!

I'm only giving this establishment one star, because I have to at least give it something. However, it does not even deserve even that. On a Friday night, my boyfriend and I came here for dinner. The place wasn't crowded and we were sat right away, great! This excitement went down hill, fast. Our $11 "bowl" of cream of crab soup was maybe 6oz. Our food came promptly, but the crab cake sandwich was served with nothing but bread and the cake and my $23 lobster mac and cheese came in a small soufflé dish (hardly worth the price AT ALL) and it tasted EXACTLY like the soup! We couldn't even complain to our waitress because she disappeared. After asking another waitress for refills on our drinks (which she replied in aggravation by asking a bus boy to run this task for her), we find out SHE "FORGOT ABOUT US BECAUSE WE WEREN'T SITTING IN HER SECTION" (her exact words). In conclusion, mediocre food, skimpy portions, and awful service for $47.... DO NOT GO HERE.

Mixed review. Our sons enjoyed the ribs and original fat tuna entrees. My wife thought the tilapia parmesan entree was very disappointing and tasted like it had mayonnaise on it rather than cheese. I ordered shrimp and lobster over linguini and what arrived at the table was an abomination: thick tasteless gruel that completely overwhelmed the overcooked pasta. I couldn't eat more than a few bites and was definitely not interested in taking it home. The check was about $100, which was about $50 too much considering the poor quality of two of the entrees. Please get a new chef.

Jumbo peel and eat shrimp was fantastic. I came to this place for a late night snack before and was disappointed so I left. I'm glad we returned. This place needs carpeting bc boy is it loud but the service and food were good.

TeRrIbLe food. I was trying to make it stand out. Seriously wawa and royal farms have better tasting things to order and I know what I'm getting. To sit down, wait for the kind of food we got was almost insulting. If I could have given negative starts this place would have got them

I finally made it for the Fish Fry on Friday. The Fish was cooked perfect and a good size piece came with slaw and a side. The slaw was a little soggy but had a good flavor. The batter on the fish was light and crunchy without all the grease. Tarter sauce was good too. Love the atmosphere and the bar area. Good prices @ happy hour!

We stumbled upon this place while on vacation in Bethany beach. We needed a place where we could have dinner and and entertain the kids, and found the perfect location. The place has a playground outside right by the bar! Food was great too. Loved the "mikes fries" appetizer..may have the name wrong, but it's waffle fries topped with shrimp and crab. Highly recommend. All the other food we had - burgers and crab cakes - was solid. No complaints. Good drink specials too. Service was great. Our server, Marquise, was really attentive and friendly. This was a great find and a nice break from the other packed places you'll find here. Seems like a popular place with the locals.

Went today for brunch with friends. The website brags of brunch but no where does it say that it is only served in the summer. The hostess was not friendly and seemed bothered to have to seat us. She didn't set the table, and left a stack of silverware and menus in the middle of the table. The waitress was also not thrilled to serve us. She seemed annoyed that my friend and I ordered water (we got drinks later). I ordered the tuna sandwich and it was delicious! Big filet that was cooked jerk style and perfectly. The serving size for the fries was small. Crab cake sandwich was also good. It's really unfortunate that the service was not good bc the food was delicious.

I want to start off by saying they don't have Hennessy. It's the only thing I drink. Haha that's why it's one star less than 5. Service was great, atmosphere was nice and the meal was satisfying. Left with a full belly and no real complaints! Will be back!

The worst food and the worst service!!!! Will never go again. Please do not waste your time or money. This place is toxic. Have lived here over 10 years and it just becomes a horrible experience to eat here. Everyone is miserable! !
(1)Renee R.
I would recommend skipping Fat Tuna. I have tried this establishment four times over the past few years, and each time I experienced poor service and mediocre food. There are too many other great choices in the area to waste your time here.

Just ate at this place while vacationing in Fenwick Island, the sea food was very good and the service was prompt. We liked the corn hole boards near the outside bar, prices are on the higher side but the food was fresh and tasted great. We had a party of like 15 people and everyone enjoyed the various dishes.
(4)Gabe O.
I got the linguine with shrimp, scallops, salmon and mussels with a super spicy red sauce, amazing. Oh yeah, started with the cream of crab soup that was so homemade and so tasty.
(5)Doug D.
Been here a few times. I always leave thinking that the food a ok to pretty good. Just never overly memorable to say the least. Calamari, ahi tuna crisps and the blackened tuna sandwich last night. All decent. Prices are fairly reasonable. Service was good and friendly. I guess I would return again.

Really great food, but service was a little off. Took family of 4 here late summer 2014, based on Yelp reviews. Spot on! Steak salad, sia loo, and lobster mac and cheese were "the best" according to my teen kids and wife.
(4)April S.
Great happy hour. Good margaritas and delish chicken tenders. Outside seating available in season.

I post this loathing review having tried this place 3 separate times. I kept giving it chances because it is so close to our weekend beach place and thought each visit couldn't have been worse than the prior... what a mistake The place has so much potential, it is in a great location and the atmosphere is fantastic. You walk in and it looks like you want to be there. This place is under absolute terrible management. The second time we went here to watch the O's game that was on at 8:00 the hostess who greeted us was carrying a child. Children were running around the bar area. I even asked our server if it was family night which it was not. I do not have a problem with children, but was shocked to see our hostess carrying such a young child. The food was very pricey and fantastically disappointing. The tuna wontons had larger slivers of ginger than tuna. The service is absolutely the worst. Completely inattentive and rude. The only person ive seen smile there is one of the bartenders in the outside bar. Another visit we went during the day with a group of 7 people. We went outside and asked if we could have the tv on so we could watch the game. Since we were the only people out there, it wasn't like we were ruining anyone else's experience. The manager stomped out and turned the TV on and stomped out like it was the worst thing he had ever done... so the tv was on, but the game was not. after asking twice more the manager informed us through our server that he would not change the channel. This is the last time I will visit this train wreck. bad expensive food and worse service. The "new" management this place is under is worse than before.... DO NOT GO HERE

This restaurant is convenient to where we stay at the beach and it is open later but those are the biggest advantages. The food is just ok. We have been there twice already and the service is not great. The server checks on you once but you can never find them if you need something outside of that especially when you are ready to leave. This was especially apparent when we wanted to leave on our last visit because there was extremely loud band playing. The waitress told us when we sat down there was a band about to play so we knew to eat fast but maybe the hostess could have given us a warning and seated us farther away if that is what we wanted.

Great food, terrible service. Great family place, great outdoor playground for the kids but service is not so friendly
(2)JJ M.
The "FAT" can be hit or miss, however it is better since the new management took over....Its fine to eat and run, but if want to sit and chat and have a relaxed meal this is not the place. this is the loudest restaurant I have ever been to, even when its not full.......Entrees seem a bit pricey, but the apps and sandwiches seem priced about right
(3)Rachel W.
This is my favorite restaurant! The pistachio encrusted chicken is my favorite meal, but I have tried a variety of the seafood dishes and have always been pleased. The outside play area for the children is always a hit for my daughter. They have a trivia night that is lots of fun. Would highly suggest you try Fat Tuna!

A large group of us came to Fat Tuna for dinner and drinks after spending the day at the beach. The prices of the dishes were a little high IMHO but the drink prices were pretty low so it all evened out in the end. I ordered the "just tuna" which was a tuna steak with 2 sides. They cooked it rare like I ordered, and the steak itself was huge but it was a bit stringy. I would have rather had a higher quality tuna steak that was smaller than the piece of tuna that I got but it was seasoned well so I didn't mind as much. After dinner we decided to stick around for karaoke that was starting at 10, and that's when it became blatantly obvious that we were from out-of-town. The locals were really into their country tunes and most everyone sounded pretty awesome, while we had some friends who are semi-tone deaf thinking they were rock stars, and others of us singing very non-country songs like La Bamba (which is a great song to lighten up a room, by the way). We had a great time at Fat Tuna - most everyone was super friendly (staff and patrons alike), and they graciously put up with out-of-towners like ourselves this past weekend.

My wife and I traveled down to our home for the weekend in Bethany and decided to have dinner at one of our favorite local restaurants. We each ordered our favorite dishes and afterwards were quite disappointed in the food. Each of our meals were not what we had been used to in the past. On our way out my wife jokinlgy asked if the restaurant had been sold and the manager at the front desk said yes, that the previous owner sold in December 2012. We replied by saying we thought something was up because the food was not anything close to what we had been used to in the past. You would have thought the manager would have been interested in knowing what was wrong but he could have cared less. He never questioned us but allowed us to leave dissatisfied. To bad for the locals because they lost what had been a restaurant where you were guaranteed a good meal each time but not anymore.

Good, fresh tuna and a variety of delicious offerings on the menu. Some stuff is a little over-priced, but it's still a great place to eat in Ocean View. Always a good vibe and the complimentary bread basket is a tasty introduction.

although I have been here before, I have never been all that impressed. 2 days ago, a friend of mine, was celebrating his birthday there. Since I do not live in the same state, I called them asking if I could pay a portion of the bar tab that he had going. The lady that I talked to informed me that she was in the office and in-order to do this she would have to walk all the way to the front and go check if they were there and was I sure I wanted her to do that. I said yes, please. After about 5 minutes she told me that he was here and that his tab was already paid, i asked her if she could open another tab and allow him anything he wants. Although I am glad that she allowed me to pay so I could contribute to his birthday, I was mad that it was so hard for me to spend money in a place that I wasn't even in. after the customer service on the phone, I plan on never being a customer of theirs; there are plenty of restaurants in Bethany to go to next summer.
(2)William E.
Good place for a family on vacation to eat, sit in the restaurant or sit either bar, games for the kids outside to keep them occupied, when you just need a little extra time to yourself s. Food choices were great, good kids menu, plenty of specials and food quality was fine not outstanding.

The restaurant has nice décor. The service was decent. the food is always good. The restrooms are very clean and offer mouthwash to the patrons which is a nice touch. Fat Tuna is also family friendly.
(4)David R.
The problem I have with Fat Tuna is not the food, or the establishment itself. It's the location - and the fact that they are the only spot in about a six mile radius. That means huge crowds during the summer.....forget about getting a spot in their cool enclosed deck. And extremely tight parking. This area of Delaware is more of a locals scene - the locals avoid the tourist meccas of downtown Bethany Beach in the warmer months. The food is very good (seafood-oriented), but the interior reminds me of a gymnasium. It's airy and bright, and the service is good. There need to be more options in this area of west Bethany Beach/Millville, DE. That would fan out the regular patrons of this joint.

This place is cavernous and loud. I ordered the tuna sushi appetizer over peanut noodles and received 3 small thin pieces of tuna that was very disappointing. Also had the granny apple salad - it was ok but the walnuts were too salty. Others at the table thought the meal was just ok. I will not return.

Went there on July 5th. After about an hour and 15 minutes we needed to talk to a manager since food was no where to be seen. When i tapped a waiter on the shoulder to get his attention he said don't touch me and walked away. The Waitress could not tell us when the food was coming and just kept apologizing. When the female manager finally came to our table I asked her if she knew when our food was coming out. She said I don't want to tell you 15 minutes and it is another hour. I said it has already been am hour and fifteen minutes I would like to know how much longer the wait would be. She couldn't or wouldn't find out the answer for us and just became ruder by the We just left after that and the restaurant lost their $150.00 in dinners and the waitress lost her $35.00 tip because this manager can't do a managers job and fix a problem. We won't be going back, there are plenty of other restaurants in the area to enjoy. When i told this to the manager she said good and walked away. We went to get take out from a pizza place and the 17 year old young lady behind the counter exhibited better communication and service skills than the manager at Fat tuna. Can't comment on food since we left but if the service stinks I don't care how good the food is.

Stopped here upon arrival in Ocean View around 8:30 on a Friday. No problem getting a table at that time. Seems like the place caters to families with little ones. One large open room with tables and booths. Quite loud, considering it was half empty. They have an outdoor bar and dining area that looked like it could be fun. The food was pretty good. We both had shrimp - 6 rather small shrimp on a skewer, described as "jumbo". Tasty and well prepared. My rice was a little crispy, but the broccoli done perfectly. Probably wouldn't dine inside again, but would try outside.
