Great food with big portions with the sushi. The staff is very nice. I gave it three stars because the restaurant itself is a bit dated and needs some attention. My suggestion is - don't come here if you are looking for a quick meal - however the food is worth the wait. If you do not care about furniture and a nice looking restaurant - you will love this place.

Love me some Ohama. The fact they use whole tuna in their spicy tuna instead of chopping up the unpalatable offs and ends means a lot. The sushi is consistently very good and stands up to sushi I've had across the US and around the world. When I ate meat, I loved the buffalo roll which is beef and cream cheese which will help you get your meat and potatoes non- sushi water in the door. They can be slow, but that's part of the experience and Oak is always happy to share a beer with you while you wait. It is worth a drive to try it and once you do, you'll be hooked.

I love this place. The staff is friendly, always remembers my name and the food is delicious. Prices are comparable with Mikimoto and Potstickers.

Worth the wait for some real authentic japanese food. Sushi is fresh always. Food is made to order which comes out item by item but bless their heart for keeping it real. My suggestion is to plan on a long evening but again totally worth it. Avoid brining the kiddies, they wouldn't handle the wait

The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The gyoza and tempura soba where amazing. Definitely check this place out.

I went here on a recommendation from some "friends." I had eaten here once, a long time ago, but the meal was unremarkable, either way. I was not so fortunate last night. First of all, the service was just horrible. We were seated quickly, as there was barely any patrons. But the waitress took at least 10 minutes to come back for our drink order. I ordered sake, which I always get when I eat sushi or whenever it is available really. The sake smelled of vinegar and stunk up the whole table, and the taste made you wish you were drinking vinegar. A pre cursor of the palet horrors to come. The sushi we ordered took 30 minutes with 8 people in the restaraunt, and seemed to be held together with tape? I could've made better with a MYO bought from Borders, and have. Our spider roll had what looked like 2 week old lettuce in it and was just so off putting I couldn't even try it. I was lucky, my friend didn't get off so easily. Every roll was bland, poorly prepared, and just was sad. Best word for it, sad. The tuna looked risky, the scallops mushy and sandy. I didn't want to complain because I didn't want to make a scene but luckily my partner saw and smelled what I did. It didn't matter though, because the management stands by their product, and would only offer an explanation of what we were eating not why it was off cold and tasteless. I feel bad for those that think this is good sushi, you have been deceived and I feel sorry that you pay that much for that product. We ate at dominos next door. A 4 star restaraunt in comparison.

Interesting place. I drove by here one time and didn't know it existed until a friend told me about it. Somewhat hidden, but easy to find. A few nights ago I finally made it to Ohama, a small, quaint Japanese restaurant just outside of Middletown. The sushi was pretty good. I got my usual assortment of maki sushi and tried one of their special rolls. I was quite pleased with the quality of the food, but the variety of design was lacking. Everything looked similar to each other. I would be glad to eat there again although it is a bit pricey than other Japanese restaurants & sushi bars that I've been too. Just make sure you go when American Idol isn't on, it has a tendency to catch the staff's attention.

Service is absolutely horrible. Wait forever for orders and drinks while food gets cold and they don't care. Sushi is ok but not great I woul definately avoid at all costs.

Fresh sushi is only a bonus to this review. The real gem is the beef yukke, a tenderized piece of raw beef that is pulverized to perfection, and seasoned with sesame seeds, scallions, and various spices. This is the only place that I have found that serves it and is a must try! The staff is very friendly and service is top notch. The place is a bit small, but produces some of the finest sushi I've ever tasted. If you're not a beef fanatic, I would recommend the tuna yukke.
