Sigh on the door read: CLOSED. We knocked on the window to ask where there might be another bagel place and, surprise, we were invited in! Bagel and regular sandwiches are decent sized and well-priced. Good variety of food and coffee choices. There are baskets filled with books for swapping. What a nice touch! Most importantly, the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

I have been here quite a few times because: (a) the bagels are delicious (b) the book exchange is an awesome concept (c) there is always at least one table available (d) the television provides the news while I eat (e) I've never had a bad reaction to the food I can honestly say this place was a treat. The ONLY thing that disturbs me about the place is that there are ALWAYS flies in the building. ALWAYS. I've never seen the flies LAND on anything other than furniture so I can't make a factual correlation to any of the food, but that is the only thing that bothers me.....the flies. Other than that, I've never had a poor reaction to the delicious food.

Very similar to Einstein. They do great bagels. The real New York bagels. And they know what "scooped" means. I had an awesome bacon egg and cheese and my boyfriend had a classic bagel with smoked salmon and schemere. One thousand times better than going to Starbucks. Support local business! :-)

I have been here several times (for breakfast and lunch.). The food is always tasty and they usually give you a discount of some kind even without a coupon. The employees are friendly and speedy considering the number of people that come through. I would recommend watching groupon, they often have one available.

Just love it here. Everyone is so nice & friendly. The manager is so great and accommodating to is whether we want a big order or a small order. The breakfast sandwiches are so good - I love the bacon egg & cheese on garlic or asiago. I was super impressed with the lunch sandwiches - they have a good collection & always use fresh ingredients. We are here weekly.

I've pretty much made manhattan bagel my morning coffee place. I'm here every morning at 6 am when they open. With their coffee card the 7th one is free. The dark roast is the best.

Check your order before you leave! Ordered two toasted bagels and they were not toasted didn't realize until we got home. Service is slow and I missed the friendly home town feel of sunrise.

Yelp took down my first review stating it was detailed enough. i guess the word disgusting needs to be explained better. so here is what i sent the owner.... Order 3 sandwiches. 2 had egg on them even though we didn't order eggs. i ordered grilled ham and cheese on a toasted bagel. it had Canadian bacon that you couldn't even chew, egg, and cheese and it wasn't toasted. one of my sons also got an egg on his sandwich that he didnt order. his bagel was chewy. i hope thats detailed enough this time.

Good bagels---but the service is painfully slow. If you are trying to slide in on a weekday for a quick take-out, forget it. You will see four people behind the counter, all running around inefficiently and confused. However, these are excellent bagels. They also have tubs of flavored cream cheeses to take out and other items. Best bet is to order up a bag to take home on the weekend. Impossible as a breakfast takeout unless you have lots of time.

I will not go there again. They don't understand what a "toasted" bagel is or how to take care of a customer that had a bad experience. Sunrise was incredible...I wish they never sold.

I only go to Manhattan Bagel on the weekends, when I do have time to sit and wait for an order. I probably can see if you're coming here before work and are in a rush, it may not be a good idea to stop here unless you've called your order in first. However, this place still is way faster than the previous bagel shop that was here and the bagels are so much better. It is clean, delicious and I really enjoy the coffee. The staff is uber friendly. It definitely makes me think of New York City!

Good bagels and coffee. Stopped in on my way to Wilmington from Annapolis. A good sign was seeing several highway patrol vehicles parked outside! If I am ever this way again I will definitely give them another visit.
