I have been coming to Irish Eyes for over 20 years now and can't complain about anything! The food is great and the atmosphere is awesome. This is my go to place in the summer and even year round not only for dinner but for nightlife. Very relaxing sitting on the canal. Not to mention Elisha the bartender is awesome! She makes the experience even better! I don't believe there's ever been a trip down to Lewes where I haven't been to irish eyes!

Our dinner at Irish Eyes was truly fascinating. My parents live in the area and have been here a couple of times before and had ok experiences, but this Saturday was the first time they took me there. We got there on a Saturday night at 6pm with a party of 5. They don't take reservations, and its summer so everything is busy, so when the host told us there would be a wait (she said 30-40 minutes) we were fine with that, here's what I noticed during the 1.5 hours we were sitting there waiting. People would walk in, the hostess would say "let me check to see if there is a table" every time someone came in, she would then go back and check, if nothing was open she would say there is an hour and a half- 2 hour wait and take their phone number saying she would call when their table was ready. A lot of people left, a lot of people gave her their phone number. If 10 minutes later a party of the same size walked in and there was a table available when she checked, she would seat them immediately. I never saw her pick up the phone once to call anyone, although she did claim she called one guy when he came back to ask about his table. I believe if we hadn't insisted on sitting on the bench in the entrance area we would have never gotten a table or been called. When we were FINALLY seated, I noticed there were no less than 8 open tables in the inside seating area. I don't know if there was a server shortage or something, but there remained many open tables while we were there. She only seated 1 group of people the entire time we were there. Something is definitely weird with the service there. Onto the food. The place is called Irish Eyes, and they try to go along with the Irish theme with their décor and whatnot, but aside from a few "Irish favorites" listed on the menu, theres nothing really Irish about this place, especially the food. But ok, that's fine, lets talk about the Nachos, and how their version is just cold queso on store bought chips, with no melted cheese on top at all. That's just weird, but we were starving at that point so we ate the cold gross mess. My brother ordered blackened Mahi Mahi and ended up with bbq salmon, but he ate it anyway (im sure the wait to get it replaced would have been long), my mother and I got the Caprese chicken, which said it came with rice and fresh vegetables, and the rice was undercooked and the "vegetables" were actually corn on the cob, which isn't really what one expects when they are told fresh vegetables, and is kind of a pain to eat when you aren't expecting it. The bill for the 5 of us was over $160 (no alcohol was ordered), which isn't really acceptable for such a disappointing dinner. So overall the food was really mediocre and disappointing, and the service was AWFUL. I'll definitely veto this place if my parents want to go back, but I suspect they wont.

Worst service I've ever had at Irish eyes. And the oysters so dirty and sandy. Ask to speak with the manager and she had no response!!!
(1)Penny H.
The food was pretty good but the service was terrible . Our waitress was Rosie. Asked for drinks and more napkins and neither came. Finally got up and got napkins from the hostess. We have been waiting 15 minutes for our check.
(3)Tony S.
Great food, great atmosphere. Staff was great and our waitress not only did she take great care of us she was fun. We will eat there again in the future.

I've been eating at Irish Eyes often in the past several years and have been experiencing the food going downhill. When at the shore, one should have a reasonable expectation of good seafood. When I pay $17 for a mound of " lobster" salad and get a mushy dollop of faux lobster that was puréed as to be almost unidentifiable ( but you can't hide the stringy texture of the fake stuff or the wetness that's a result of it being defrosted), with a few chunks of celery and red onion, I'm more than unhappy- I'm insulted. It didn't even taste remotely like lobster. I feel I was ripped off. If you want Irish food, you'll get a good meal for the price. Their raw oysters are delicious. But stay away from any mixed "seafood"-- salads, "crab" cakes- you are not getting what you pay for. Service is always very good and the atmosphere pleasant. It's right in the canal and has a great view. The bartenders are top notch. But they need a new kitchen manager!

What is not like here?? From the amazing view and a very very large outdoor eating area to wonderful service personnel ( ask for Kristen!), this is now my go-to place to bring guests from out of town!!
(5)Karen S.
Seafood shepherd's pie was phenomenal!! Finally finding Not Your Father's Root Beer was an added bonus.
(4)Heidi F.
Fabulous pub in Lewes Delaware! Best part was being able to dine with my pup in the indoor bar area. Second best the Portobello fries. They were fantastic and so flavorful! The bartender was really nice and took care of my dog too. Friendly atmosphere and fun place!

We sat in the open-air bar area and enjoyed the view of the water and boats. Waitresses seem to have a slight attitude. Salmon sandwich was more than acceptable. The fish was reasonably-high quality but I didn't eat the pedestrian-and-borderline-stale hamburger bun on which it was served. We ordered the fries "well done" which they were. Bloody Mary was tasty and did the trick. I would've given them three stars if one of the waitresses hadn't had an attitude.
(2)Ray D.
Food was very good, Soft Crabs were solid. Service was OK. Wife's Pina Colada was weak, server had an attitude when we sent back. She ultimately brought a new one which was OK.
(4)Chris M.
Nice atmosphere. The menu offers a lot of choices. Appetizers- crab dip and fried calamari were great. All our entrees were good but a drop from the appetizers. Our waitress was rude when we could track her down to order and ask for more drinks. She really brought down the evening. Kristen we her name, I believe.
(3)Bob W.
The best things about this restaurant are its view and cold beer. We have stopped going here after tolerating its mediocre food several summers in a row. The clincher was when we last ordered the fish and chips. The fish was cold and wet. Yep, soggy fried fish. I have never written a bad review of a place, but found the need to share this horrible experience. The name Irish Eyes has become synonymous with poorly prepared food with our family.

Over the last 6 years, my wife and I have eaten at Irish Eyes several times. Apparently, chefs come and go so this review may not be valid in the future! In the past, before I went gluten free, I had had their fish and chips. To ME, they were as good as any I'd had in England! A couple of years ago, the restaurant burned down and had to be rebuilt. It is very comfortable and even though there is a sports area near the bar and not far from where we were seated, we did not HEAR the TV. My family and I had lunch at the Lewes location of Irish Eyes today, December 30, 2012. I am gluten free and was delighted that the waitress had educated herself about the dietary needs associated with this. She was able to advise me of appropriate menu choices. I had ceviche - yes, I KNOW this is a STRANGE choice for an Irish restaurant, but it was excellent. I also had the wedge salad, comprising a quarter of a large head of iceberg lettuce, bacon, tomatoes, blue cheese, ranch dressing and a few slices of cucumber. My wife had a classic burger, my daughter had a roast beef au jus sandwich and my son-in-law a cup of their cream of crab soup and a fried oyster po-boy sandwich. ALL of us found our food to be excellent. Generous portions, FRESHLY made and tasty. The two sandwiches came with home made potato chips and the hamburger with fries (I think you have a choice of the two). Both were excellent. For desert, we shared an egg nog creme brule, a key lime pie and a slice of cheesecake with several toppings on the side. ALL were notable. Our waitress well attended to our needs without being intrusive. All in all a great experience. Irish Eyes usually has a wide variety of beers and ales on tap in addition to a wide assortment of bottled brews.

We come here every time we are in Lewes :-) tonight we had the crab pretzels and a burger.....delicious!!! Satisfied as always when we come here!
(5)William F.
Recently stopped by here to watch a football game at the bar, while having a few beers and some light food. I was favorably impressed.
(4)Susan W.
Great dinner and super friendly bartender. My husband and I sat at the bar and ordered oysters, shrimp and burgers. It was ALL just delish! Oh, and the martinis were great too ;-). A very authentic spot. Seemed like a popular spot for the locals. A great find for us and would definitely eat there again when in the area.
(4)Heather N.
Terrible service. Mediocre food. Chicken for the Chicken salad is from a can. Skip it.
(1)MT U.
The food was delicious, we had a party of 7 and were easily accommodated. The service, while fine, wasn't great.
(4)Samantha M.
First time I've been in since this rebuild. Went in for their Monday night burger special... 5.99$ gets you a big fresh burger cooked perfectly....with your choice of cheese. Use the toppings bar to add whatever else you want (pickles, peppers, mayo etc) Very good...worth the trip into Lewes. Service was great as well. Would definately go back for dinner to try something else on the menu.
(4)V. B.
Terrific bar food, great service -- and a view if the water. What's not to like?? Go for the portobello fries!
(4)Chris M.
What a great time we had here! First of all, the huge wraparound porch with views of the water is wonderful. Second of all, they left us bring the dog to the end of the porch which they call the bar...I'm totally impressed by any place that's dog friendly. Third, we had some of the best-tasting, freshest oysters on the half-shell that I've ever had, we ordered a 2nd dozen, and then a third dozen...crazy good! The fish was very fresh and well prepared. The crowd can get a teensy rowdy but were also really friendly as were the wait staff, even at the end of the summer while slammed with customers. So glad we took the chance to come here.
(4)Joe J.
Delicious, greasy fish tacos served on those awful chemical laden tortillas, with what tasted like out-of-the-bag Tostitos tortilla chips and a puddle of ChiChi's salsa on top. Now that's great food to pay money for.
(2)Craig M.
Food was decent, nothing special. I had the ruben. Family's food was OK, service was mediocre at best and they were only about half full. If you have a nice day, sitting outside you can enjoy seeing the boats come in and out of the docks. There are better options, both in quality and value. Not likely to return.

Currently in it's third reincarnation (2 fires in the past 2 years or so have burned this place to the ground, but thankfully they keep on rebuilding!), Irish Eyes is my personal favorite bar/restaurant in Lewes due to it's scenic location on the canal, casual food and bar menus, and reasonable prices. On my last visit, I had the blackened mahi mahi which was great. If you're not in the mood for an entree, they have a nice choice of burgers, chicken and seafood sandwiches to try out. Not all have been winners on my plate, but there's always something new to try. Good for lunch and dinner, kids and adults, plenty of off street parking, canal side in and outside dining...Irish Eyes is a great staple in Lewes that deserves multiple visits.

Awesome experience! Was staying in Rehoboth for a week and this was the best food I ate during my stay. I'm a vegetarian, so I appreciated the large amount of vegetarian food on their menu (and all of the vegetarian dishes were marked). Our server was one of the best that I've had anywhere; she was always one step ahead and very friendly. The portions were large and the food was delicious. Our table had nachos, bangers and mashed, seafood shepard's pie and a veggie burger with fries and everybody enjoyed their meal. We sat outside on the deck which has great views of the boats on the water. Would definitely go back.
(5)Nicole S.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this place! We had dinner outside on their patio overlooking the canal after a day at the beach and had a great experience. The caesar salad with crab cake was great (although the crab cake had a lot of breading and not much big lumps of meat). The key west style shrimp and scallops were also very good although they were a little over seasoned. Overall I would definitely recommend, especially since there are surprisingly few places to eat in Lewes with a direct view of the water.
(4)Richard G.
My wife and I eat at this restaurant at least once a week and we have nothing but great things to say about this restaurant. The waitresses are always there at your table without asking to refill drinks and always have a smile on their faces. We have been at this restaurant now about 20 times in the past five months and every time we go the food is consistently good. We've never had a bad time ever at this place. My wife and I frequently eat out quit a bit and like to try different local restaurants and I have to say nothing even comes close to the quality of the service and food of this establishment. Take my word for it you will not be disappointed!

Ok, so after a year and a half, we went back to Irish Eyes and it was a mistake. Food upset my stomach before I finished the meal. Daquiri was watered down and did not taste good either. Avoid this place.
(1)Sherry J.
This was my 3rd visit to Irish Eyes with Nicole B. We decided to try the Pain in the Ass which is half pina colada and half strawberry daiquiri. That was good, but pina colada is our go-to drink here. We sat at a table on the deck and had a great view of the water. We were disappointed the happy hour specials are only during the week, so we just split a lobster wrap. It was good but not spectacular. The lobster was the texture of tuna fish, and it should be large and chunky in a lobster salad. We don't mind paying full price for the drinks, they are worth it. Still hate the smoking on the deck, love all the puppies.
(4)Matt S.
Very nice bar, helpful staff, friendly patrons and great views from the patio. We were very happy!
(4)Ralph B.
Fish and chips was great, wait stuff was nice and always taking care of our needs which is hard for a group of 9. Only drawback was in expecting a proper pour of Guinness and getting 2+ inches of head... I will still be back though, but asking for a slower pour or order a different beer.
(4)Mark R.
Will never return. It has such a great location on the water but it can't make up for the horrible experience we had this past weekend. I would tag it as he worst service at a restaurant I have EVER received. We walked outside to the hostess stand and there were plenty of open tables but no one to seat us next to the please wait to be seated sign. We stood there for 8-10 minutes while staff did not tend to us. Finally the hostess returned and seated us. She said she would grab some crayons for the kids but never returned. We sat at the table for ten minutes before I finally had to stop a server to ask for someone to help us. She said she would find our waiter they were on shift change and she wasn't sure if we actually had someone assigned. At this point I went looking for crayons myself as he kids wanted to color. A good 12-15 minutes after we sat down and no less that 20-25 minutes since we arrived he showed up and the waiter took our order. He returned with our drinks about 10 minutes later. Our appetizer of chips and dips came out well before our drinks. Then we sat there and waited and waited and waited never to see the waiter again or our food come out. It had to be more than 40 minutes from ordering. Every table around us that had sat after us or ordered 10-20 minutes after us got there food and was eating. One table sat well after us, finished, paid the bill and left before we got our food. I finally got up and asked for a manager to help us as we had been at the restaurant for over an hour and ten minutes at this point with no sign of a waiter and no sign of our food. She went to check, and about 5 more minutes passed before our food came out. The waiter never came to the table to check on us in that entire span of time for refills or anything. I took my kids cups to the bar to get them refills myself. The manager never came over to the table, never apologized and made no effort to fix the situation or offer us a second chance to get it right. The food was fine. Nothing great though. So we will never return, will never recommend this place to our friends and have taken the time here to give a one star rating because it fully deserved it after our dining experience.
(1)Neil B.
How do I leave less than one star? Waitress folded napkins the whole time. Had to flag other help.
(1)Michael K.
Irish Eyes Pub was jumping last Saturday night with both bachelor and bachelorette parties going and live band music playing. The narrow dance floor was filled to capacity of slithering and swaying patrons. The seating area both inside and outside was filled. The outside seating area has a nice view of the waterfront.
(4)David H.
Ordered nothing but sandwiches. 50 minutes from order to arrival. Tables on either side of us each turned over and got their food before our party of four. Place was half full. Asked if our order got lost, were told she was just trying to time it right. Food was good. Then bill came. Beers that were ordered were $2.50 more than they appeared on the menu. When asked, were told that beer we ordered had run out and we were served different, not-on-special beer. But we were not told this. It was a beer we'd never had before so we didn't question it tasting different. Manager refused to honor the special on-menu price. Wont be visiting again.
(2)KJ S.
Nice spot near the water with live bands on weekends. Lots of great seafood options as well as the typical pub food offerings. I'd visit again!
(4)Trish P.
Awesome food. On the water. Great atmosphere. I'd come here every night! The Reuben Egg Rolls are amazing. The Clam Steamers were on point. GET THE BANGERS, MASH, AND STEW!!!!
(5)William L.
$10.75 crab soup with bread bowl cold. $12.50 walnut bleu cheese salad yellow lettuce. The prices are way too high for what you get. We asked for bread and were told that they no longer serve bread. How much does a roll cost a restaurant? I realize that it is tourist season but you still have to provide good food. How about hiring more responsible help.
(1)Janet F.
Just having drinks tonight. MIL had a margarita and said it was weak/watered down. The atmosphere is fun. A lot of fishermen come here after a day on the nearby fishing boats. I came here a few years ago to eat before the place burned down and it was okay. Pub food. But the view can't be beat and it's kid friendly. Good place for a casual night out. It's pretty happening. The location is a key element to the atmosphere of this place. It's right on the water in the beautiful beach town of Lewes.
(3)L D.
Great waterfront bar with awesome pub fare and fresh seafood. Lobster wrap was good but could've used more lump meat as well as the crab cakes. Oysters are always fresh. Best bar for an outdoor happy hour in Rehoboth/Lewes.
(4)Katy S.
This place is a solid three or 3 1/2 star restaurant. They have a very busy outdoor deck where dogs are allowed to mingle. Food is pretty good. We are during Labor Day weekend. It was early and the restaurant was getting busy. DH had a Lewis burger. He rated it a 6 or 7. It came with homemade potato chips. Another one of us had the Hawaiian chicken. It wasn't bad but I think that the corn on the cob might have been frozen. A surprise in late August it should've been fresh. Adult grilled cheese was good as was the tomato soup it came with. House salad was very disappointing. And for $10 it should've been a lot better. A shallow bowl of lettuce with 4 slices of cucumber and two cherry tomatoes. What?? Overall we feel the food here isn't bad, but with all the other choices in Lewis you might want to try something else.
(3)Miriam V.
If you are a foodie, avoid this place - you will be disappointed. If you like McDonalds, you will enjoy. Anything that is fried is dipped in a heavy batter. Medium well filet mignon comes burnt and dried. Wine list is out of date. Service is ok but food is horrible
(2)Priscilla L.
We were on vacation and met a friend for lunch who suggested Irish Eyes. We had never been to a Delaware before or heard of this restaurant. Our waitress Maggie was so nice, friendly, sociable, professional, fast and efficient. The Corn Beef and Cabbage was the best dish that I have ever tasted and that includes dishes from restaurants in Ireland!! The prices were very reasonable and the portion size was just the right size for a lunch. The view of the water can be seen no matter where you're sitting and it's beautiful. The bathrooms and restaurant were very clean which is a big indication of the condition in the kitchen; according to the television chefs. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
(5)Rachael R.
Great view and an awesome setting, but I'm always disappointed with the food. Don't order a frozen drink- instead opt for a happy hour beer and maybe an app.
(3)Connie M.
Birthday dinner for my Friend's Dad. We started with drinks that came in very tall Blue Moon glasses...Irish Pina Colada for me and Bloody Mary for my bff. So yummy!! Apps were portabello fries and crab pretzels. The shrooms were cut thick and lightly battered and difficult to stop eating! The crabby pretzel was not exciting but it was tasty with lots of melted cheese. Dad had the special which was Shrimp Parmesan. There were 6 jumbo butterflied, fried shrimp smothered with cheese and served over a large bowl of linguine. He could not finish it all but said it was very yummy!! My friend is vegetarian and a foodie and meant to order the vegetarian shepherd's pie but forgot and got the veggie burger. It was a frozen patty but very tasty with the guacamole and kaiser roll and LTO. Came with a side of potato salad. I, carnivore that I am, went with the Steak and Cake...12 oz ribeye with a broiled crab cake...YUMMO!! I always order medium-rare and am easy to please as long as it is comes out medium. Parts of the steak were medium and other parts were not pink...I was too hungry to send it back. Plus as it is a ribeye, even an overcooked one is still very tender and juicy with all the marbling (I would have given 5 stars if the steak had been perfectly cooked!!)! The crabcake was very round like a baseball but perfectly cooked with little filler. The lemon caper aioli was so delicious!! I don't remember the mashed potatoes BUT the whole ear of corn on the cob was so sweet and the perfect complement!! Our server was Erika who is starting her Senior Year at Delaware State. She was very attentive and just bubbly enough! She made a chocolate, ice cream sundae (with 3 scoops) for Dad's birthday which was the perfect ending to a delicious dinner!! Beautiful view of the water. As we had an early dinner, we were leaving as the live music was setting up. Dad mentioned to the hostess (who was very sweet) that at the end of the month there would be a dinner honoring former POWs and he would be back to see her. She let us go upstairs to see the banquet area...GORGEOUS!!! Fantastic view of the water and a great place to watch the sun set! Who knew an Irish restaurant would be my first GREAT review! :)

VERY EXPENSIVE! I got a tuna appetizer and one margarita and it came to $20.00. I was sitting right next to the bar, but in dining seating area, but was not allowed the happy hour menu (and prices) unless I was AT THE BAR. Love the atmosphere, the outside decks, etc, but seems way more expensive than other local establishments.

Seriously have not been to a restaurant EVER that was this big of a s*** show. Took us 45 minutes to get a glass of water and the waitress had to be reminded 3 times. Whoever is in charge here needs to take a serious look at the place. It's in desperate need of some professionalism and organization.
(1)Amber F.
We had great service during happy hour, awesome appetizers and cold, fresh drinks. I recall good happy hour drink prices and tasty egg roll apps. There was a DJ and plenty of people of all ages there. We were well taken care of, even as we had three couples who arrived at different times. They have a pretty decent beer menu bottled and on tap. The music was loud, and more current new music. Definitely would go there again.
(4)Mrs. E.
Excellent quick service. Delicious food. Well worth the money. The bangers mash was scrumptious. The atmosphere was family friendly. Pleasant staff and good food I will consider this place again in the future.

Stopped in for a drink after driving down from Pa. Two Guinnies were fine, but the Portobello fries were outstanding! Thanks, Mike!

Entertainment: They had a pretty cool DJ spinning last night. I absolutely love that he didn't stick to one genre but instead played country, top 40, old school classics, 80's, etc... Now that's a well-rounded DJ! Adding to the musical entertainment was a few visually entertaining women dancing as if no one was watching... It was pure bravery... And comedy! Great place for people watching. Food: I ordered a salad and tried the apple cider vinegarette (sp?). Definitely recommend your taste buds try this deliciousness. Took a bite of my bf's fish and chips... It wasn't bad but it wasn't the best. Salad plus two scotch drinks equalled to $30. The waitress forgot my friend's drink (it happens) so she comped her drink which more than made up for it. I would have to say that the entertainment was better than the food. It was a cool experience but next time I think I'll just soak my liver with alcohol and dance my little heart away on the dance floor... Like no one is watching ;)
(3)Nick T.
Came here for happy hour, good priced beer and reasonably priced appetizers. I got the steamed clams and I must say, they were pretty big, bigger than the ones at fins. I highly recommend the seafood shepherds pie. It's expensive, but so worth it!
(4)Bob G.
Went here for lunch with my wife and 4 year old son, who has an anaphylactic peanut allergy. It's a large place, and there were only a couple of other tables seated. When we ordered drinks and appetizers to get started, we explained that our son couldn't eat anything from a kitchen with nuts because of potential cross contamination, and that we brought a snack for him (a baggy of safe pretzels). The waitress was very rude and said we couldn't feed him that in their restaurant. We were surprised at this because most restaurants in our experience have appreciated not having to worry about his dangerous allergy. We asked to speak to the manager. The waitress left for a moment, and smugly returned to tell us that her manager said it's a health code violation to eat anything not prepared there. The manager never bothered to come to the table. I asked the waitress if that meant that a family with a baby couldn't give their child a bottle because it didn't come from their kitchen, and she didn't answer. It was very clear that we were not welcome, so we cancelled our drink/appetizer orders and left.
(1)Matt B.
Great nachos. Solid happy hour on the water. Bring your dog. They are more then welcome on the deck. Cool bartenders. Crab pretzels are pretty awesome too. If you want to have a drink with your dog, this is a great place to do it!
(4)Stan G.
Great happy hour specials, especially the fried portobello mushrooms. Tuesday is grilled cheese night and the grown up grilled cheese with the tomato bisque is perfect for a cold winter evening.
(4)Elizabeth S.
I so wish we could do half stars, because I think this place deserves more than 3, but not quite 4. Clearly, Lucy, I have some 'splainin' to do. The good stuff: we were a group of 5 and got a table seated on the porch. So neat to be on the water, and even on a hot day, there was a breeze. Our server was attentive and available, although in asking whether something could be exchanged for something else (I dared asked for a vegetable instead of french fries) I honestly think I offended him. But he got over it, and it was reliable service. Our group had a mix of things -- two got the crab cake sandwich, which they really liked. I had the veggie burger, which was totally delicious. We agreed that the best part of our sandwiches was the roll they came on. The veggie burger had a nice guacamole on top which gave it a little kick, but not too much. What was AWESOME was we shared an order of the fried pickles. That's right, you heard me -- FRIED PICKLES. Sounds totally bizarre, but they were ridiculously good. (Warning: They are SUPER hot on the inside; it's deceptive because when you pick them up they've already cooled on the outside). They come with like a chipotle mayo -- yum--mee! Now the other stuff: I do think it's pretty crazy that I couldn't get a vegetable or salad instead of french fries or potato chips, but then again, it's a pub and I'm not sure they're overly concerned about health-consciousness! Had a cup of the tomato soup as a starter; did NOT care for it. There was an herb they used, I couldn't distinguish it, but it was far too strong and too much. Tomato bisque should taste tomato-y, and the spice way overshadowed the flavor. I had a glass of red wine that was really disappointing; I'd suggest sticking with beer if you're going to drink (and like beer of course!). If you sit on the porch, it is made of wood that "gives" -- and with servers walking by pretty quickly and regularly, it almost bounces a bit. So that took some getting used to. Finally, be forewarned -- a boat went by and several of the folks on it mooned all of us. We thought it was pretty funny since none of us had been mooned since, I don't know, 1982 maybe? But then we saw that there were a good number of families also on the porch -- I know if my child had been with me I wouldn't have been very happy about that. But in Lewes, DE it seems to be considered a real boon to have been mooned when sitting at the Irish Eyes enjoying a drink and/or a meal. Just sayin'...
(3)T K.
View outside is great, food was pretty good except for the burnt crabcake(not sure why that was served), service was terrible. The waitress did not show much interest in us or in sharing the menu and showed impatience to the point of rudeness when asked a question. We were not offered drink refills, not wine or water. This has happened once before, time to retrain some staff!
(3)Adam B.
This is the second time my wife and I have come to this establishment. The first time was horrendous. We had a rude waiter who was angry we were not planning on ordering food. We were drinking all night. drinks would certainly out way food money wise. This shows how competent the staff is. The second visit we were seated next to the kitchen. We could see the filthy kitchen every time an employee walked in or out. We witnessed a waitress carrying clean glasses to the bar with her filthy paws all around some of the glasses. There are plenty of other options within walking distance. Don't waste your time in this dump.
(1)Jesse W.
The waitress we had was well beneath adequate. Our Pepsi was a lighter brown than ice tea, and it took her ten minutes to bring us replacements. I ordered the vege spring rolls, which were FANTASTIC!! But then I made the fatal mistake of ordering Shepherd's Pie Classic (menu titled it as beef). Where do I get off ordering and Irish dish in an Irish restaurant right?? It had an ice cream scoop's worth of mashed potatoes, and some type of meat in it I had never had. Either some weird sausage, or a form of baby animal, again I have no idea certainly not 100% beef. Whatever the crap was, don't eat it. Everyone else at the table loved their sandwiches and home made potato chips. I on the other hand will be haunted by the mystery-meat-potato scoop-topped-frozenvege-pie...
(3)Elizabeth P.
Good service, food & atmosphere. Would highly recommend Irish Eyes!
(5)Vincent M.
Great time here with friends and family. Irish eyes is defiantly a place to stop by while in Lewes. Great menu, great staff, and great service!
(4)Marc M.
Service is okay.. Had the shepards pie and the corned beef. steamed clams as an app.. food was okay.. everything is just okay. It does have a great location. But when I think of the better choices in Lewes, just okay does not really make me want to go back.
(3)Jolene F.
Great view of the canal and lots of seating. Apps were decent and they have a full bar. Most of the food is average at best. Don't expect a delicious meal.
(3)Andrew R.
i had french onion soup and an oyster po boy. very very good lunch. came in on a rainy sunday and there were only a few people in there. i would imagine the place is packed in the summertime. pretty extensive menu, very good service.
(4)J P.
Best sunset views while having a drink..... Food is basic but good. Plenty of good specials to wet your appetite and whistle. Music nights a must.
(4)Denise C.
Great meal on a busy night. Everyone was happy with their order - chicken wings, Shepherd's pie, scallops, chicken salad, fried oysters and yummy desserts! Great vista over the canal.
(4)Erica T.
This is the perfect location for lunch, cocktails, etc. especially after boating or fishing! we were here last year and this year and their quality has not changed - very fresh fish, beautiful and tasty salads ( i love the spinach salad) great sandwiches (try the blackened mahi / the carolina'r) plus the mussels are exceptional! love the view! friendly service, can't be beat!
(5)Meg W.
Crunk. Margaritas. Mike.
(3)Nicole B.
I have been here several times this summer, with this summer being my first time since the fire. The deck is sooo much better and love that it's so dog friendly. Once they ban smoking it will be perfect! The pina colada's could possibly be the best pina colada I have ever had. And I consider myself to be a pina colada professional! We have tried several things here including the scallop special with roasted red pepper cream sauce over them. They were pricey but delicious. Also the seared ahi tuna which is good. The shrimp are great but fantastic at happy hour when they are half price. Ate nachos once inside watching a band. Service wasn't nearly as good as outside and the we were not given silverware to eat our nachos. They were a drippy mess and we had to steal silverware and extra napkins from another table. And had to ask for plates. I guess the server wanted me to wear the nachos and not eat them. There was a lot of crap on them but not enough chips which = soggy mess. I will return if there is a good band but will eat first. But I will keep sitting on the deck and getting frozen drinks for happy hour or non happy hour. Last time we were there we shared a lobster roll. I expected more but did just come home from 8 days in Maine so maybe my expectations were a little too high.
(4)Victor P.
Good place. On the canal. Big fish with fish and chips
(5)Igor O.
Genuinely bad food, small portions, high prices, slow service. The perfect storm. The waterfront view is the only reason for the two stars, but you can get the view for free staying outside.
(2)Chris M.

(5)Jessica M.
(4)Brendan M.
(4)Sarah D.
(5)Mary-Anna H.
(4)Ralph B.
Fish and chips was great, wait stuff was nice and always taking care of our needs which is hard for a group of 9. Only drawback was in expecting a proper pour of Guinness and getting 2+ inches of head... I will still be back though, but asking for a slower pour or order a different beer.
(4)K. W.
(3)Sophie G.
Seriously have not been to a restaurant EVER that was this big of a s*** show. Took us 45 minutes to get a glass of water and the waitress had to be reminded 3 times.

Excellent quick service. Delicious food. Well worth the money. The bangers mash was scrumptious. The atmosphere was family friendly. Pleasant staff and good food I will consider this place again in the future.

(4)Jesse W.
(3)Elizabeth S.
(1)Andrew R.
i had french onion soup and an oyster po boy. very very good lunch. came in on a rainy sunday and there were only a few people in there. i would imagine the place is packed in the summertime. pretty extensive menu, very good service.
(2)Chris L.
(5)Mary-Anna H.
(4)Elaine H.
(1)Roberto N.
(4)Dave M.
(2)Jessie S.
(2)Sharon W.
(5)Ray D.
(1)Mark R.
(3)Mrs. E.
Excellent quick service. Delicious food. Well worth the money. The bangers mash was scrumptious. The atmosphere was family friendly. Pleasant staff and good food I will consider this place again in the future.
(4)Patrick B.
Stopped in for a drink after driving down from Pa. Two Guinnies were fine, but the Portobello fries were outstanding! Thanks, Mike!
(4)Connie M.
(4)K. W.
(3)Sophie G.
Seriously have not been to a restaurant EVER that was this big of a s*** show. Took us 45 minutes to get a glass of water and the waitress had to be reminded 3 times.
(4)Heather N.
Terrible service. Mediocre food. Chicken for the Chicken salad is from a can. Skip it.
(1)Lovely D.

We could see the filthy kitchen every time an employee walked in or out. We witnessed a waitress carrying clean glasses to the bar with her filthy paws all around some of the glasses. There are plenty of other options within walking distance. Don't waste your time in this dump.

Good service, food & atmosphere. Would highly recommend Irish Eyes!

Great time here with friends and family. Irish eyes is defiantly a place to stop by while in Lewes. Great menu, great staff, and great service!

Service is okay.. Had the shepards pie and the corned beef. steamed clams as an app.. food was okay.. everything is just okay. It does have a great location. But when I think of the better choices in Lewes, just okay does not really make me want to go back.

Great view of the canal and lots of seating. Apps were decent and they have a full bar. Most of the food is average at best. Don't expect a delicious meal.

i had french onion soup and an oyster po boy. very very good lunch. came in on a rainy sunday and there were only a few people in there. i would imagine the place is packed in the summertime. pretty extensive menu, very good service.

Best sunset views while having a drink..... Food is basic but good. Plenty of good specials to wet your appetite and whistle. Music nights a must.

Great meal on a busy night. Everyone was happy with their order - chicken wings, Shepherd's pie, scallops, chicken salad, fried oysters and yummy desserts! Great vista over the canal.

Good place. On the canal. Big fish with fish and chips

Genuinely bad food, small portions, high prices, slow service. The perfect storm. The waterfront view is the only reason for the two stars, but you can get the view for free staying outside.

Terrific bar food, great service -- and a view if the water. What's not to like?? Go for the portobello fries!

Delicious, greasy fish tacos served on those awful chemical laden tortillas, with what tasted like out-of-the-bag Tostitos tortilla chips and a puddle of ChiChi's salsa on top. Now that's great food to pay money for.

Recently stopped by here to watch a football game at the bar, while having a few beers and some light food. I was favorably impressed.

The food was delicious, we had a party of 7 and were easily accommodated. The service, while fine, wasn't great.
