With the exception of a few less than satisfactory experiences, we LOVE this place! Amazing food (LOVE LOVE LOVE the weekend morning buffet), kind and caring service and management that truly cares. It was very comforting to hear that there are cameras all throughout the restaurant, kitchen included so there was no fear of retribution when I had to have a meal sent back to the kitchen because it was not prepared as I'd expected. Our breakfast experiences have been very consistent and greatly appealing. We're not as happy with lunch services but, dinner is also quite outstanding, despite the frequently busy atmosphere. The restaurant stays quite busy but, the staff handles it quite well! Wi-Fi is not very good quality but, is available for free.

Crab cakes get an A++++. Texas burger & Philly cheesesteak great too. The baby loved the fried apples. The clam strips..... not good. Too bready. Great place overall

I had the salad with grilled chicken and vinaigrette dressing. Big portion, chicken was good. I could have used some romaine instead of all iceberg. My daughter had grilled cheese and fries which were good. Not the newest decor, just booths and chairs. There is an older clientele which was there when we came after church. But I didn't feel uncomfortable. Very nice server and cashier

If you are looking for really good comfort food that won't break your wallet, stop by the Stargate Diner! We brought our kids and grand daughters and everyone enjoyed their meal. Every night they have specials like $5.50 all you can eat chicken and dumplings. Do try the rice pudding and ask for raisins and whipped cream - tastes like grandmom made it!!! O

This place got four stars cuz all the nice real non pretentious people who work there! This is an average joe place! The waitress are personable and mice ! The food is mostly heat and serve ! It was all good! I had the crab cake was lump back fin on top of a bowl of stuffers Mac and cheese ! I wanted a little more cheese on top. Also the collards were well cooked but I am from the south,. I did miss the fat back and seasoning ! All in all I enjoyed the community spirit that a true diner has .

Felt very unwelcome. I think it was because we were a group on 20-something's. They seem to only have an older crowd here. We were stuck in the back room alone while the rest of the guests ate in the normal dining room. They just didn't seem to want our business. Food was mediocre at best. If you're under the age of 35 and don't have a child with you, I'd say keep driving.

We were seated immediately our waitress was so friendly. We received a basket of bread it was great. After reading great reviews of the crab cakes we got the seafood plate and also the honey chicken basket. Our salads came first they were fresh except the croutons. They should just leave them off of they are so stale. The food arrived it looked nice but quickly disappointed. I'm not kidding the fish was a pre frozen filet that once fried was that wet mushy texture inside. Gross. The shrimp the same, scallops hard balls and about the crab cake. If your never able to get good crab cakes I get it that these are great. They use lump meat and little filler but it's older meat maybe frozen and it gets that fishy odor to it. Not appealing. The chicken is also small pieces of pre frozen chicken like the banquet dinner in a box kind. Nothing like they are coating it in the back and cooking it. I visit the area frequently but I won't waste my money again. That was 38.00 in the trash.

The service was amazing and Kristen went out of our way to suggest the local favorites like "scrapple", a sausage-pork mixture fried into a rectangle that has a fluffyish texture. Very hard to explain and it is an acquired taste, that we really liked! We would never have tried it without her recommendation! Portions were massive!!!!! Patty melt, cream of crab soup were highlights. I wasn't that fond of the pot roast but it was well made, the sauce just wasn't much to my liking. Quality was meat was good. Everything is homemade!! Since traveling in from Chicago, we felt horrible that we left so much food behind! This is a classic diner that we were so glad we tried.

Fantastic little find. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food was very good and plentiful! The owners and service was very nice. My husband had the stuffed flounder to which he would recommend anyone to try. Not fishy tasting at all. I had the chicken pot pie, very good with lots of chicken in it. French opinion soup was awesome! And dessert to boot was great! If you like home cooked food, large variety, and nice service and atmosphere, then I suggest this place!

Stopped in here on our way through to the Outerbanks. We bypassed the menu and grabbed the buffet so the kids could have a little of everything. Great price for what was offered. Food was good, but nothing overly impressive. Great place for a quick stop and go. Waitstaff was exceptional and very friendly.
