Good food as always. Great friendly staff. Always good service and fresh food. Good sushi for it being a "fast food" place.

Good, fresh, quick food. I hadn't been to Tokyo Joe's in quite a long time - but the other day I *had* to have some sushi and I was in an unfamiliar end of town, so when I spotted the sign for Tokyo Joe's I was all over it. Every one on their locations has the same feel, same decent food and great price for what you get.

Hungry as ever and w a small group of four, we stopped in here to fill our tummies. At 1st glance, there were rows of tables to choose from w happy patrons from couples to groups chowing down. The setting was warm & inviting - perfect for a late lunch / early dinner. And while this was our 1st visit, the staff at the counter were surprisingly patient as we each gazed at the menu above on what to order. I liked that they offered many healthy options here. Minutes later we finally decided and ordered the following: *Tokyo Salad *Joe's Roll *California Roll *Miso Soup bowls x2, and a *Build-Your-Own-Bowl of White Chicken over Brown Rice w Teriyaki Sauce and a side of Edamame Beans, Broccoli, and Snap Peas Prices were reasonable. And the food was oh so delicious! We shared most dishes except the soups. And when our soups seemed to have gotten cold fast, we humbly asked if they would be so kind to warm them up in a microwave. To our surprise, the attentive manager came over to our table and advised us that they did not have a microwave and kindly offered to bring us hot servings in new bowls. Now that's great customer service! We weren't expecting replacements, but we sure appreciated his offer and kindly accepted. 8D Each staff member from those at the counter waiting anxiously to take our order to those on the floor clearing tables and offering condiments and chop sticks, to the manager who came out of his way to offer us fresh hot miso to replace our cold ones were superb in treating us w genuine hospitality. That alone is deserving of a 5-star rating! Now if only they would establish their presence out in the south?! ;) Without a doubt, this would be a success in Huntsville AL! Would we recommend this to others? INDEED YES!! Would we return? Y'alls can bet your 3rd serving of wasabi on it that we will!! ;P

Tokyo Joes is a great place to get quality Japanese food at a good price. They work hard to get you your food quickly. I love to get their spicy tuna rolls and their chicken spring rolls. They specialize is a variety of sauces. I can't get enough of their peanut sauce... My mouth is watering as I think about it. My family loves their rice bowls. You can pick from chicken, beef or salmon and add any veggies you want. If you don't want rice they have their fantastic Udon noodles. They offer a variety of sushi rolls and salads as well. Everything I have ever had here is delicious. This is a restaurant our family frequents because of the taste and we can eat here fairly cheap. Their service is good and very friendly.

I had a great dining experience here the other day. Tokyo Joe's appeared to be one of the many franchises I hadn't yet seen or heard of until I recently moved to Colorado. If you like edamame (organic salted soybeans), this is definitely your place, as you can get it both as a side item as well as one of the veggies in your build-your-own-bowl. There appeared to be a large variety of sauces as well. The Udon noodles were awesome, and portions were great for the price.

Went in on Sunday night, the place smelled like it had a sewage problem. We've visited this location many times but now will never return. I have never been so disgusted with the condition of a bathroom in my entire life, I know for a fact that it needs to be cleaned on a hourly basis. One toilet overflowing with excrement and the other didn't flush, I immediately turned around and left the establishment. Clean your bathrooms and fix your toilet problems, it reflects poorly on your business overall. Also, if your 'sushi' chefs are going to be dropping plates and picking them up off the floor with the same gloved hands they're using to roll the sushi, please fire them, that's a health violation if I ever saw one.

Once again, I try and give this place a chance and they almost ALWAYS screw something up. I started going here again for the lettuce wraps and was absolutely loving them. Everything is so fresh, and tastes so good. I went back today and ordered them again, asked for extra chicken, which costs an extra FOUR DOLLARS! I get back to work and there's exactly 3.1oz of cooked chicken in my bowl. My 2 year old is capable of eating more meat than that. I kid you not that my meal was near $14 for JUST lettuce wraps with extra chicken, and I am rewarded with 3.1oz of chicken, which is likely the standard amount. Screwup, after Screwup, after screwup. I'm sure that Larry will just tell me that it's my fault, as he has done in the past. I really love some of the food I get, when I go there, but damn... I'm so tired of this location messing up my order or the food itself. Even after 9 years of working a block from this place, nothing has changed. Thankfully, Pat, the manager on duty at the time, was happy to credit me a free lunch. Much more than I can say Larry ever tried to do when they'd screw up. Props to Pat!

Today was my first time eating tokyojoe's. did a build your own bowl. White chicken, rice, no brainer veggies and green curry on the side. I have to admit that the green curry sauce tasted weird and I was not a fan. Luckily my husband had some teriyaki sauce I put on my bowl. As the teriyaki sauce? It was pretty tasty. I like the variety of veggies in the no brainer combo. Would I come here again? Maybe. But I will get something different.

Not bad. Quick, easy and painless. I'm not sure what is healthy about a rice or noodle bowl, but it wasn't too heavy.

A great place to get a really delicious healthy meal. The staff there is friendly, we ran into one that was a little off but overall a very good quality place to dine in or take out.

TJ's is always great for service, and this location excels. Bowls and salads are in the health conscious category. The only thing I have to watch them on is when I order double veggies in my bowl. The either try to slip it past me by giving me only 5 oz., or they can't read an order list. Come on TJ! Get it together.

  • Patrick D.

Friendly service and they work hard to get your meal in a timely manner. I always get the yakitori bowl. I can't seem to bring myself to try anything else. Every. Single. Time. I come in here I say to myself that I'll try something new but my yakitori addiction takes over. I ordered a strawberry nutella sushi roll for dessert...That's about as creative as I can get here.

Awesomely great, healthy food. Very nice, friendly employees. I highly recommend Tokyo Joe's for sushi, bowls and salads. Salmon salad great. Large portion of salmon! Great prices too.

Joes has great bowels and many options. The ingredients are always fresh and the food is tasty. Also really enjoy the combinations of sauces you can use on your bowel.

We stopped in for a quick Mother's Day lunch and we were greeted by the friendly staff. My toddler was throwing a fit and a friendly staff member gave her a bracket to help calm her. Worked perfect. My mothers food had a problem, and John, a supervisor was very quick to take care of the problem. He also came back with some herbal tea on the house for my mother who wasn't feeling well. All across the bored a great experience. We shall be back, great food and impeccable service!

Reasonably priced... The staff was Very rude and you can tell the sushi is cheap. It fell apart before i even touched it and did i mention they were rude?

Pretty good for "fast food".. I get this through their iphone app and pick up in about 10 minutes. Convenient!

So fresh and yummy! Love the chicken and veggie bowl but the California rolls are pretty awesome too! The only down side is that there may be a bit of a wait but it is totally worth it, especially if you are Paleo or eating Clean :-)

I am always proud to brag about Tokyo Joe's to my out of state friends - it's a God send that there is a fast, cheap restaurant with HEALTHY food! And not just the 'we throw vegetables on top of a burger' kind of healthy. A brown rice option, tons of different veggies to choose from, and multiple sugar-free sauces! LOVE IT! I would recommend TJ's for anyone that is looking for a quick bite to eat who is on a budget. They also have sushi, which I've never tried there, but I'm sure it's great like the rest of their food!

Love love love me some Tokyo Joe's. I go to this location near my workplace at least twice a week, sometimes more. These folks are super friendly, always call me by name (which always gives us the warm fuzzies, right?), and deliver on the food part every time. I always get sushi, and it's always super fresh and scrumpdillyicious. Over 7 months time they helped bigtime with a huge weight loss (hot damn!), and now I keep going back because I plum love the stuff. Thanks guys!

  • Sierra G.

Always delightful and satisfies my cravings. I usually order a teriyaki bowl but I've also had their sushi. It's affordable Asian that doesn't leave me with a sodium overload. It seems healthier than most so I go hear instead of Panda Express.

  • Gregory P.

I really like this place; I go here about once a week, and have been to three different locations. As others have noted, it's far from "authentic" Japanese. Heck, it's basically a rice bowl place. But for fast food - and they are fast - it's one heck of a lot healthier than the alternatives, and tastes really good. I feel good about myself going there. Sushi decent, bowls great, soups great, brown rice and udon noodles available, everything super fresh, spotlessly clean, nothing fried (that I know of). "Big" bowls and some of the entrees are easily enough to make a dinner. Prices are just a little high for my usual lunch, but *very* far from a problem. My main complaint: It's ridiculously hard to get more than one napkin.

Nice staff and not to mention supper quick !!! great prices, clean and if they mess up the order they're happy to fix it

This restaurant is one of the first ones I discovered upon moving to Colorado last June. I cannot stress how yummy this place is. The staff is fairly attentive, but the food is the real star. Joe's Rolls are my favorite dish, but the California Rolls are a close second. When you order bowls, make sure you try the Dragon Sauce at least once. It is spicy deliciousness! The Green Curry sauce is awesome as well. Tokyo Joe's has an awesome Facebook page too. They interact with their fans constantly, and give out freebies throughout the year. Okay, I am making myself hungry for some Tokyo Joe's!

  • Merritt D.

This place is right by my work and my girlfriend and I grab it every other week. They messed up our order one day and with a quick call they made up for it and then some. Great place!! Chicken Big Bowl with veggies. Mix the dragon & teriyaki!

DO NOT go there doing lunch hours (11:30am-1:30pm). The wait time for take out order is 30-45 mins...I will never go back to this location.

Rolled in here for lunch and it is okay for Japanese food, if you want to call it that...Nothing great and nothing bad...they had Diet Dr. Pepper so I guess they had that going for them...

Long time customer for Tokyo joes. Food used to be beyond excellent. As of late my orders have been wrong within a week and a half period. I pay for what I want and don't get what I paid for. Extremely upset and won't go there anymore

It's not real Japanese. It's like -- Americanese inspired by Japanese cuisine. However, it's pretty good. They primarily offer rice bowls, but they do offer a small selection of specialty salads and noodle bowls. I recommend staying away from the noodles though because they are pretty mushy. They also offer some sushi selections, but nothing too crazy. Overall, the fish isn't too bad, and the prices for the food are fairly reasonable. The portions are sufficient as well. I actually worked at this location in 2005. It's weird seeing absolutely nobody from my time there. Not even the management is the same. Typical restaurant service and work environment I suppose. While working there, I ate the food every single day when I worked. I was actually dieting at the time and lost a lot of weight. i wouldn't call them a "Subway Diet", but their food is healthy when done right. I left the company to move. Coming back, it just doesn't taste as good, and I don't think it's just me.

I love me some Tokyo Joes. I like the layout of this location and the decor. The staff were friendly and fast. And of course, the food was delicious. I love the gluten free terryaki. Also suggest the spring rolls with the lemongrass basil dressing. mmmMMMM good!

GREAT food. Those noodles, I will dream about those noodles. They were fantastic. I had the oyaki sauce and it was very mild and savory. Yum!! I love that you can choose dark meat chicken too - white meat doesn't do it for me. I wish we had one of these places in Utah. I would eat there every day. It's like a Cafe Rio for Asian food. Delicious!

This Tokyo Joes gets some things perfect, other things not-so-perfect. Kind of like pretty much every business, ever. Unfortunately like all Jokyo Joes, they overcook the noodles in their noodle dishes until those lovely-looking udon noodles blend together and, through the extensively long time they apparently are cooked, become one blob of gooy starch. And yet, while Joe isn't mastered the art of reading the amount of time on the back of a pasta package, he's surprisingly good at sushi! The rice is nicely packed, the fish consistency fresh, and while the sushi menu is short, it has everything I need to be happy: spicy tuna, seared ahi tuna, and salmon. Salads at this location are hit and miss. They've usually made me happy, but occasionally the greens have been a little wilted and sad. Still, I love Tokyo Joes, so if it went away, I would also be wilted and sad.

There's a reason why I come here like 2-3 times a week to pick up a lunch to go. I enjoy the simplicity of their rice bowls. Meat. Sauce. Rice. Veggies extra. Now don't get me wrong, I usually have to get an extra side of sauce with my bowls, but nevertheless what they have is very tasty. The staff they have are definitely of a group, but they are all very friendly and seem to like their jobs very much. So don't be put off by their piercings or their tats, it's no different than having a Chinese waiter who speaks zero English serve you your sweet and sour pork. The only thing I don't enjoy much is the ambient music. I don't mind heavy stuff if it's taken in moderation, but yeah.... I will warn you though, though it is healthy, it doesn't mean it doesn't have its down sides, always check the nutritional facts on what you're eating if the place offers it. My simple large white chicken bowl with curry sauce equals out to about 570 calories in its normal form, and 850 calories in its large form. I'm not a huge fan of their sushi, but that's just because I feel if I'm paying 1.60 for a piece of nigiri, it should be a decent sized piece. My ex really likes their cali rolls, but I'm a picky ass Asian so I'm past surimi inside sticky rice. They have "sushi night" on Tues/Thurs/Sat where they offer more of a variety than the every day menu, but I wasn't a huge fan of the extended stuff either. tl;dr - I enjoy taking out their food. It's a giant leap above fast food, but still quick enough for me to grab and run.

My wife and I love Tokyo Joe's. Authentic is something I have no knowledge of, but as far as good is concerned - the food is tasty, the atmosphere fun, and the service is amazingly fast. This is more surprising because everything is made fresh. We probably eat out here more than anywhere else. The only problem it has is that the food is reasonably good for you ;-) (nothing fried, etc.). Lately I've been especially in love with their Nikko salad - it' has a variety of fresh crispy greens (and reds and purples) along with avocados, mandarin oranges and almond slices. And the dressing is really excellent - tasty enough that you don't need a huge amount.

Ok here we go.. I've had everything here to from the miso soup to the eel bowl...Everything here is Loaded w/ MSG. The meats to the sauces. The product here is second rate-cheaply made Japanese food.. The food at this location is made by teens who seem to put their attention on each other instead of quality..The management doesn't seem to care either, so it reflects in their product. They could do it right, but are content in putting out a mediocre product... I tried this to give this place several chances (it was close to my home) but this place fell short every time... For the best Japanese food done right, go to Kokoro in Denver..

Too loud. Too much attitude. Especially when the food isn't that great.

It took me a few visits to decide that I really liked Tokyo Joe's. I didn't know what to expect when I first tried the location in Louisville, and while I liked it, I wasn't overwhelmed. After a while I realized that I was looking forward to eating there again, though, and it grew on me eventually. I've eaten at both the Louisville and Westminster locations and like them equally, but Westminster is closer to where I currently live. I will admit that I haven't tried many things on the menu... I'm vegetarian and stick to the Boulder Veggie Bowl 99% of the time (brown rice, tofu, veggies). I like the Curry sauce the best by far (I can't remember exactly but I believe only one of the sauces isn't vegetarian)--it's pretty mild, which is fine with me. The bowl portions are huge; I get the "regular" size and always have to bring half of it home. I am not really a fan of the side salads (too much oil on the Sunomono salad & the default dressing on the other salad isn't my kind of thing), and the sushi Veggie Roll was decent but I don't care for the wasabi cream cheese they use. The food and service is pretty consistent, although there have been occasional mix-ups on my husband's orders and it can take a while for your food to come out during peak lunch hours. The music is turned up too high at times and the way the dining room is constructed, it can get fairly loud when it's busy (we usually go on Sunday afternoons), but honestly there really aren't any negatives to speak of! Tokyo Joe's is my go-to place for a healthy, fresh, inexpensive & quick weekend lunch!

  • Marisa C.

I really like the ambiance of this location! I still feel that I need to try more noodle dishes (or maybe order with rice?), but the one I ordered was fresh tasting and pretty good. I actually enjoyed the side orders like the sunomo salad and the California rolls the best. Definitely a fan and will continue to go till I find my 5 star favorite dish.

  • Rod H.

Bastardized Japanese food at its finest. Not a lot to say about Joe's, the food is just plain tasty. If you're an aficionado when it comes to Japanese cuisine, this place will probably let you down. But if you're a red-blooded, burger-eatin' 'merican like myself, a bowl full of rice, meat, vegetables, and sauce is sometimes just what you're in the mood for and Tokyo Joe's delivers. The sushi isn't great, a few notches above the premade sushi you can get at the grocery store. But like I said, if you're the kind of person that actually buys the little plastic containers of sushi at the grocery store, you'd probably love Joe's sushi. I get a pretty basic meal here: rice, broccoli, and chicken in a bowl with a generous helping of Teriyaki sauce. Definitely don't take your Japanese friend here when he visits you, but definitely do stop by from time to time for some Americanized Japanesish food.

  • L M.

You get a lot of food, but the taste was comparable to an Annie Chun's noodle bowl. It was really heavy and cheap tasting. I was excited to try it because I heard good things, but wasn't totally impressed. Fast food for sure.

After being told by my boss, Bob and my best friend, Sara that I would really like Tokyo Joe's I had to eat here and soon. Only one problem, we don't have one in Fort Collins yet, sigh, whine. One Saturday the husband and I found ourselves in Westminster really close by a Tokyo Joe's, yay! I immediately liked the place, it was soooo clean (even the bathroom was spotless)! It is an order at the counter type of place and the short line moved super fast. I was very impressed by the menu so many cheap healthy vegetarian options I could barely take it!!! After inquiring about the sauces (only one is not vegetarian) I decided to go with a Noodle Bowl that included the veggie mix and teriyaki sauce. My husband ordered the sushi (spicy tuna roll I believe). When we sat down at the sparkly clean table my husband voiced his non-politically correct scepticism about the "white boy" making his sushi. Turns out that "white boy" made some of the best sushi my husband has ever had!! How cool is that?!? My noodle bowl was delicious, the veggies were plentiful, what a variety, so fresh and cooked perfectly! The noodles and sauce also excellent. The two words that come to mind to describe this Tokyo Joe's is clean and creative, two of my most favorite things! The music playing was great plus it was the ideal volume! Here's a concept: Tokyo Joe's actually pays their staff a decent wage and has benefits! Personally I think this shows in the quality of food and the cleanliness of the establishment. Joe's is a really cool company in other ways too - they use organic when possible, nothing is fried, and they seem to be trying to use non-factory farmed meats. Seriously, I am just dazzled by Tokyo Joe's! So much so that when I got home I emailed the President/Founder of the Colorado company and begged him to get a location in Fort Fun fast! Get this, I got a response saying hang on they are working on it! Woohoo! My husband and I can't wait! Tokyo Joe's is a company with a conscience, love that!

Wanted something simple, cheap, & casual, so I decided to check out Tokyo Joe's. Like many people say, it really is the Japanese equivalent to Chipotle -- from the design of the restaurant to the menu's 3-step process. I got the curry chicken bowl with veggies, as well as an 8-piece order of the spicy tuna. Now, I love the simplicity and I love the idea of the restaurant. It was definitely healthier than most Japanese food, but unfortunately some of the taste was compromised. I found my chicken bowl pretty bland -- I found myself using a ton of the spicy pepper and chili sauce. I definitely felt pretty healthy afterwards though, so I guess that's a good thing? The spicy tuna roll had a decent taste but wasn't really spicy tuna. It was just chunks of seared ahi tuna with a dabble of spicy sauce. I would have much rather preferred the normal spicy tuna where it's blended with sriracha or chili sauce. All in all, it was quick and healthy choice for Japanese rice bowls. Taste-wise, however, it just wasn't memorable whatsoever.

This is my favorite location of my favorite fast-casual restaurant. Joe's is to Japanese cuisine as Chipolte is to Mexican - that is, an Americanized subset of dishes meant to be prepared fresh, hot, fast, and tasty, but not necessarily authentic. This is a terrific lunch and solo dinner place, and I really love their food, their attitude, and their prices. This is not the place to go for a hard-core Sushi meal, but to scratch the itch in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable price without having to sit and leave a tip, it can't be beat.

  • Noelle S.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would :) I love love LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE their teriyaki chicken bowls with all the veggies. It's so healthy and is always amazingly good with the freshest, most quality ingredients. The meat is NEVER fatty, which I really appreciate! This is always on the top of my list when I'm in the state of Colorado and I tell everyone who will listen about my love for Tokyo Joe's :)

  • Heather P.

This place is currently my favorite fast casual meal. It is the first decent sushi I ever had, and now I am hooked!! I love thier bowels and all the fresh veggies. The steak and the chicken are always good. The only thing that I have had that I did not enjoy was the salmon. My husband had it a few weeks after I did and both were completely over cooked. But hey....that leaves plenty of other combinations to enjoy!! Great food, great prices, and fun servers!

Decent adulterated Japanese cuisine. I mean, what can you expect, the name is Joe's. The food is freshly prepared and honestly isn't bad. But don't go here expecting it to be authentic. It's not. But if you go here expecting typical Americanized Japanese food served fast, you may be pleasantly surprised.

  • Joshua G.

Eh, did not care much for it, first of all nice environment, reminded me of a japanese noodles and company, the food not so. I had the Tiger Shrimp bowl, it was a little pricey and was terrible. It was over salted and they added too much sauce, so IF I ever go again, IF that is I will ask for the sauce on the side to add myself. Other than that the bowl was full of more rice then anything else. I was less than satisfied and walked out with a mouth full of salt and still hungry. =0( I expected alot more.
