After eating dinner here for the first time, we were extremly dispointed with our service. The server did not take our order correctly, we had to track her down and ask for refills and the rest of our meal after we had recieved our hot meal off the grill. Needless to say our food was then cold! the cook did a great job but over all the service was terrible! This place is also a filthy mess! I would honestly rather use an outhouse!! I really hope someone cleans this place up at some point! We will deffinatly not be returning!!

The food here is great I give the food 4.5 stars however the service here is lacking. I have been here a few times and each time the waiter seems like he couldn't give a crap about taking your order. The waiter I had has been there for a long time as I saw the same person years apart. The waiter might of said 10 words max to us the entire time we were there, he never asked if we were good or if we needed anything else he just dropped off the food and left. I looked around and it wasn't just my table it was everyone he served. He seemed like he was the starving artist emo I don't give a s*** about what I'm doing type of person and his service reflected this. This restaurants is next to a movie theater so I assume people come in before movies to eat where they might be in a bit of a rush...I wouldn't advise this your waiter could take 30 minutes just to ask you what drink you want. Summary: food great service poor

TL;DR - don't order sushi, just go for hibachi My coworkers were in the mood for some hibachi, and I was in the mood for yummy sushi. What a mistake. Please do not order sushi. The quality is extremely questionable. I also tried an avocado salad. The salad was absolutely unbalanced - the yummy avocado was drenched in mayo and thick teriyaki sauce. Gross. The flavors just clashed and nothing made any sense. Hands down the worst avocado salad I have ever tried. I think if they served the salad with a vinegar or citrus based dressing it would have been very good. Hibachi, on the other hand, is quite decent. I sampled a few things. The meats, veggies, and rice were quite alright.

Wow! Didn't check yelp before coming (I never do that), but only because I'm from out of town and I have been checking it so much that my brother has gotten on to me so I decided to trust him...I will only trust the yelp community moving forward. Terrible mistake. The good...the soup was good. The bad...everything else. The salad dressing tasted like mayonnaise on lettuce. Our hibachi cook came out and he must've been drunk or something. It was terrible. He was dropping stuff...it became humorous. The rice was terrible. I've had better fried rice at the mall food court. The noodles (why do they serve this stuff)? At one point our cook spilled some of it onto the table portion and then proceeded to scoop it back onto the grill...are you kidding me?!? What the?!? My dad wouldn't let him put the veggies on the dirty plate in front of him, so the seemingly drunk cook put the plate in front of my nephew and put the veggies on the plate and tried to say they were for my nephew on the same dirty plate?!? What?!? We got ribeye combos and another gentleman at the table got just the ribeye. There was a notable difference between our ribeye and his. We order ours medium and it was well done of course. This was the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant...ever. To make matters worse, after I paid, I brought it to managers attention because I felt he should know and he said that he knew this guy had problems and it was his last weekend there! What?!? So you throw him to us and I drop $50 on me and my 9 yr old son and we get this guy?!? He should've been gone already! These people...

The staff is kind of slow sometimes and when you're on lunch at work, it's kind of a bummer - but the sushi is alright and the hibachi is great. Ordering the hibachi soup is a must - this dang soup is so simple yet so delicious!

I'm tacking on one star because this place was blarrrgggghhhhh... At least that's what my stomach said. It was around 2pm on a Saturday, so there were only two tables. My friends and I sat down and the little waiter took our order. It took about 10 minutes to get our drinks and another 20 minutes to get our food. It wasn't busy... I guess people move slower when it isn't busy? When we got out hot sake, it tasted old and sour, but my bf and I already took two shots from it, so we didn't return it and I drank the rest. The amaebi (sweet shrimp) had a slimy texture to it. These hibachi places shouldn't be selling sushi if it doesn't taste good! Just stick with the hibachi! Overall, the food was not fresh tasting. Another thing they remind their customers three times that they're tacking on gratuity for a table of 6 or more. Like the big red stamp that says GRATUITY INCLUDED and telling us three times wasn't enough. Our waiter was slow, sat at the hibachi counter for the majority of the time with his other co-workers and everyone else who works there looks miserable. So just to make sure, I circled the red stamp multiple times and wrote next to the stamp saying INCLUDED, just so they know I'm not tipping them extra.

I dont know why this place has terrible reviews. I attended a lunch with my family and we all really enjoyed it. We tried the hibachi side of the place, and the service was great. Waitress always gave us what we needed, and the hibachi grill guy was very friendly!

If you're lucky, he'll make you a QUAIL SHOT. This restaurant gets so-so reviews (I think pertaining to their hibachi) but their sushi is TOP NOTCH! And I keep coming back. Sit at the sushi bar to get served by Marcus, he will treat you well! (He's the white - buzzed head one!) Robert at the sushi bar is polite and knowledgeable & don't get me Started on CLARK -- if you want an AMAZING WAITER REQUEST CLARK AND SIT AT THE SUSHI BAR!!! ENJOY!

5 stars for the awesome chef! Kudos to you amigo for being so friendly even though the rest of the staff was out of it. 3 stars for the food, not bad, but not the best I've ever had a at hibachi 2 stars for mediocre service with 10+ ppl on a weekday night, it wasn't that crazy and we did not have to wait for a hibachi table. With that said, our service could have been better, however, the staff would have rather sat chit-chatting at an empty table around that the corner. Given there was only 1 other hibachi table, our appetizers should have been flying out the door, but I guess when you get the automatic 15% tip, well, you do stuff at your own pace. She forgot the sushi roll entirely, our drinks sat empty longer than we cared for them to be and she could have smiled just a little. On the other hand, our chef was great and although the quality of the food was ehhh, he did his best to cook it to perfection for us. He performed the usual acts of funny-isms and smiled a ton. He made an otherwise drab night that much more fun. It was a bday dinner and he was quite nice to the bday girl. Overall, I'll spend the extra bucks and go over the competition and possibly hire our chef for our end of renovation cookout!

I came in for sushi so I didn't sit at the hibachi table. I ordered a couple of rolls and some hibachi chicken rice. All in all pretty good. When I have visited before and sat at the hibachi table it was fun and the food was good. Definitely a better choice than Benihana.

I have previously considered this my goto place when I am craving sushi... Not anymore. On this occasion I was alone so I took a seat at the sushi bar. I have to say the sushi chefs at the bar are always great. After being seated at the bar I waited some 10 minutes I had yet to meet a server or even order a drink. One of the sushi chefs noticed and summoned a server. Drink in hand I opened the menu, it was different from the last time I was here, I thought great they updated their menu. Their old menu was really bad, falling apart, and the pictures were not very appetizing. I am always suspicious of places that put pictures of their food in the menu. So I am thinking new menu, looks more modern, it's clean and tidy. I browsed the menu and immediately discovered they had changed their prices. Now I have eaten here for years, and I always expected the prices would eventually go up, but this price increase was shocking. My usual Sushi Deluxe, usually priced at $21.50 was now $29.00 but that's not all, they decreased the portions too, 14 pieces of sashimi down from 19. I know there are plenty of sushi restaurants that are more expensive than this. But this place just isn't in the same class. The atmosphere is more family/sports bar, not classy upscale sushi bar. I ordered the Sushi Sashimi combo, since I was in the mood for both. I do want to complement the server, he was very attentive, and came by frequently, I haven't seen him before so I assume he is new, hopefully this guy stays as this restaurant desperately more servers like him. The sushi was fresh as it always is here, but I just couldn't get over the price change. In the end I settled for $40 including tip and left still hungry. It's the most I have ever paid to eat alone, and leave hungry. My final thoughts on this place, it seems they are struggling, they have a long list of bad reviews, they have had less than stellar health inspections, and they have a lazy and uncaring culture within their server staff. Instead of fixing the problems they are taking it out on the customer, charging more and serving less. I wouldn't be surprised to find them OOB in the near future.

When we come here we are sure to request Sancho. He is the best cook and brings his homemade chili sauce to spice things up. He is for sure the best chef there. He always prepares the most amazing dinner! David always gets the fillet and lobster and ill get the fillet and scallops or the tuna. It is not really pricey when you look at the proportions. We always have left overs that turn into two additional meals! Yummmmm! Sancho your the best and I'm sorry if I spelled your name wrong

First things first, if you're going to go here, plan on waiting at least an hour after your reservation time if you go on a busy night. Second thing, the food is only mediocre. Third thing, the service is not good. You might ask yourself, "Why is she rating it 2 stars, then?" Because I didn't get food poisoning and the restaurant was clean. I would rate it 1.5 stars, if that were an option. Here's what happened at my experience here: I came here for a 7:15pm reservation for a friend's birthday party on a Saturday night several weeks ago. We showed up before the rest of the party and tried to check in. They wouldn't let us check-in for a reservation that was 15 minutes away until the full party was there (weird, since they should have a table waiting for us, right...?). The front of the restaurant was packed full of people to the point where there was no room to walk or stand without touching a stranger. The rest of our party showed up at 7:15 and we checked in. They told us our table would be ready soon. Little did we know that soon meant an hour and a half later. 45 minutes into waiting, I went up to the desk and told them we had checked in 45 minutes ago for a reservation and asked why we hadn't been seated, when most other walk-ins had been seated. They assured me that it would be just a few minutes and we would be seated. Another 20 minutes goes by. I go back up to the desk and tell them that our large party (I think there were 14 of us) were thinking about leaving because this was getting ridiculous. I asked for a manager. The assistant manager came up and was very apologetic, however, he didn't offer us any kind of compensation for our ridiculous wait. So, I told him this was a birthday party dinner and he needed to do something to make this right since it was ruining our plans for the rest of the night. He gave us free sake. Our total wait time was an hour and a half. We finally got seated and the waitress took our drink orders. She brought back the drinks and took our food orders, then did not come back to check on us again. Meanwhile, most of us had run out of our drink and would have liked another. We had to flag her down to get anything else from her each time we needed something. The hibachi cook came up to cook all the food and was very pleasant. The food was decent, but I've had much better. The hibachi cook was the best part of the entire experience. We finally got our check 3.5 hours after initially checking in for our reservation--leaving the restaurant after 10. Overall, I will not be coming back to this restaurant, unless I hear reports that they have fixed this atrocious customer service. If a customer makes a reservation at a specific time, you better have a table ready for them within 10 minutes of them checking in. Oh, by the way, for larger parties, they do include a tip in your total check price--don't over tip them. They do not deserve it.

Terrible service. Made a reservation through open table for 6:45. Arrived 10 minutes prior and the hostess explained she didn't have any tables available and that "It may be a couple hours".... Really...that's what the reservation was for! She offered no explanation or help and quickly move to the next people in line. We have been here in the past and the food was OK, a bit overpriced. I was reluctant to return but my son wanted to come here for his birthday so I accommodated his request. Never again as he was just as disappointed.

Service was great, Poncho the chef was pretty funny. Food is what you'd expect. Had the Samurai Hibachi that came with filet mignon, shrimp, and chicken. The filet mignon was on point, but I made sure to order mine rare. I had the Samurai iced tea, and the bartenders were awesome. My reason for 2 stars - the hostess station. What a debacle! Not organized, and chaotic. We went 2 Saturday's in a row. 1st time without reservation, we were told we could be seated right away in the sushi area, only to be ignored and having to go back up to the hostess 15 minutes later to remind them. This last time with a reservation, we were told our reservation didn't exist. There is a short gal up there that wears flower dresses, and she has a serious attitude problem! Couldn't find our reservation, and made it seem like our fault. We reserved on open table shortly before arriving, and she told us that was impossible, they haven't been taking reservations all day! It wasn't until another gal came up behind her to tell her that we were right there on the screen, on top. No apologizes, just shrugged it off. To me, this part of a restaurant is what sets the tone for the rest of a dining experience. Probably will go back someday, but hopefully this department of the business gets some attention and revamping.

I used to come here all the time with my family when I lived in CO. The last time I came here the service was the absolute worst service that I can remember. I have never left a zero tip until that night, but that night I gave the server's tip to the bartender since he helped us more than the server when I finally got up to ask for help getting our food. We just gave them the benefit of the doubt and trade going again only to be turned away, they are understaffed and only have one sushi chef for the entire restaurant. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice.... Time for a new go-to restaurant

We made a reservation for 7 the other night and had been to the restaurant once before, we had enjoyed the food and experience. This time around, not so much. We arrived at 6:55 and checked in, the hostess told me that she would have us at our table as soon as she could. About twenty minutes later we over heard the hostesses saying that one of them accidentally gave away our table to a smaller group of people and had screwed up an already backed up wait list. Overheard is an understatement as we were staring about 3 feet from them. So at 7:30 I asked how much longer our wait was going to be for a 7 reservation. I was told they were just waiting on a table to be cleaned. Nothing was said about the mess up, no sorry, no we are working to fix it. Just pretended nothing happened. The rest of the night was very slow. Taking over 2.5 hours in all from time we arrived to the time we left. The food was good, but not amazing. We were so tired from just waiting around all night it really was just a poor experience. Never once saw anyone that seemed to be a manager. It seemed like the restaurant was just ran by a bunch of people who really didn't know what was going on. We have decided to never return.

Came back after a year. . the food was better and our chef was excellent. The servers were definitely having a bad day judging by the stances of three people near the entrance. Two wait staff were in an unfriendly discussion with the guy who appeared to be the manager. Over heard was "should I just send your last paycheck to you?" hmm. the hostess tried to be friendly but things were just awkward until the chef arrived.

We are big fans of benihana and we decided to try this place again after having not been since 3 years ago. We went at dinner time yesterday, they weren't busy but we did have to wait about 15 minutes after the hostess said 10. No big deal though. The place needs a good scrub- and some paint touch ups, maybe some new chairs/benches. The ambience is weird, kind of uninviting and drab. Also the sign on the building has some lights out, and the menus are the exact same as 3 yrs ago except torn and tattered. Not to nit pick I didn't feel the staff looked professional- one waitress had yoga pants on that had a neon pattern at the waist, & our waitress had a good sized hole in her T-shirt. I ordered a Philly roll, & the hibachi chicken. The sushi was not great but it was edible enough. With the hibachi chicken comes a lot of food, vegetables, rice, lo mein noodles, soup and salad. The reason I gave 2 stars instead of one: Everything tasted great except the noodles, they were.....interesting and weird at best. The chef was good at his job-very personable and funny. The reason I maybe should give 1 star: My husband and I have been really sick since late last night-me more so than him. Coincidence maybe though. Needless to say, we won't be hurrying back, benihana is more expensive but, ambience is beautiful and warm, staff is very professional and friendly in fresh uniforms. Food is consistently delicious and fresh-even the sushi.

My family and I love going here. You have to sit at the hibachi grill for the show and your meal is prepped right in front of you! Food is delicious and service is always great!! My favorite roll is the caterpillar roll and it's absolutely adorable. It looks like a caterpillar and I've never really seen any other place bring it out like it.

****Manager SHANNON**** we had a reservation (friday night) and we made the reservation 2 hours prior requesting Santos, she said a party had requested him 1 month prior which is totally fine. Then we ended u0 sitting with a couple that night asked for a Santos. They had requested him when walking in a couple minutes to us walking in. Shannon ' s customer service (after taking to the couple we were seated.with) was VERY deceitful and not expected since we were long time customers of thiers. U was very unhappy on how things were ran and not ok with what had happenes. I would LIKE TO SPEAK TO AN OWNER!!!

My husband and I stopped in here while on vacation from Kansas City. We love hibachi and sushi so we were really excited. We ordered Mt Fuji and Joy Roll (?) sushi. It was pretty good! My husband and I shared it. Then I had steak hibachi and my husband had the chef special (lobster tail, steak & scallops.). Our chef was funny and nice (white guy and it was his first night) and we enjoyed it! I knocked it down a star because they could update the decor/menus a bit but not a huge deal!

Hostess was kinda rude upon arrival. Everyone was hungry and in good spirits. After we ordered it took awhile for the hibachi chef to come out but once he did, we found out our grill wasn't even turned on and it takes 25 min to warm up. We had to move across the way to another grill. It was an inconvenience, but oh well, the hibachi chef made up for it. He was very friendly, did a bunch of cool tricks, cracked joked and let us all catch chicken in our mouth as he threw it up. Very entertaining!! My sushi was kinda gross. Didn't taste fresh. I always get a shrimp tempura roll and I know it's hard to mess up but this one was not appetizing at all. Also got a red dragon roll with crab, asparagus and spicy tuna on top. It was the spiciest tuna I've ever had but once again, it just did not seem fresh. Got the hibachi rice, scallops and shrimp. Other than being a little too buttery, it was still pretty good. My. Fuji used to be great and lively but it seems to have gone downhill and business has slowed down, so they don't even care anymore. The hibachi chef was the highlight of our lunch experience. Very charismatic and playful. It's a fun place for groups and the food is good but I would steer clear of the sushi.

For a place that has good food the service is absolutely horrendous. Went in on a Sunday afternoon about 1pm. For a group of 6 to be seated at a table.. not hibachi just a table took 15 minutes. Normally I have no issue waiting 15 minutes, but there were empty seats everywhere and could have been seated immediately. There was one sushi chef working on this Sunday afternoon so it took about 30+ minutes just to get a handful of sushi rolls. Needless to say I won't be returning here.. shame cause the food is actually quite good.

First of all. Fuck this place. Customer service is very rude. Came here on Easter during happy hour which is from 3pm-6pm. I came here with my boyfriend with enough money for happy hour. We orders our food and ate it. He gave us our check and we notices that he didn't give us the discount. I asked him about it and he informed me that we didn't do happy hour on Easter. There was no sign that said it, and Clark (our server) didn't inform me about it. He kindly reduced the price for us. My boyfriend and I returned tonight, Clark was our server again. He came up to us and said "oh are you the guys that didn't have enough money last time" and we said yes. He said "okay we'll make sure you have enough money this time because I got in trouble for what I did for you" he said it very meanly. And as a server you ABSOLOUTLEY do not talk to your customers that way. When I talked to the manager about it he said he completely understood where Clark was coming from and didn't apologize or anything. He stuck up for him and made me look stupid. I don't recommend this place. Although the sushi is great the customer service is shit.

The food and specialty drinks weren't bad. The bad part is part of our party ordered sushi and some ordered the habachi. The sushi came to the table 20 minutes before the habachi came. Obviously we didn't want to start eating before our friends so by the time they got their food ours was cold. Also if you get habachi plan on it taking longer than normal because someone has to come cook it which is a cool experience

We wanted to go somewhere fun before heading over to 1st Bank center for NYE show. We've been to the one in Denver, which was okay and maybe a little more involved with patrons (think throwing shrimp for you to catch, etc). We made reservations a week in advance and there was still a small wait. The main dining area looked more appealing, but unfortunately we were ushered to a back room with no windows, just kind of a depressing closed in area. The food was good- just your usual Hibachi. I ordered the veggie entree and my husband got the spicy garlic chicken. Huge portions that were perfect to scarf down at 4 in the morning. We ordered a volcano bowl drink (which was strong) to share. Pretty average, typical Hibachi experience. Nothing negative but nothing outstanding.

Big fan of Hibachi and will always love the food from Benihana. However I eat hibachi at least once a month and love trying different ones. Walked right in got my table for two with 8 others, environment was inviting. Bathrooms could use some updating. However once the chef arrived the show started. I have to say the show was a real good one. I think the chefs name was Danny. Did some things I have not seen from a chef. Overall food was good. Steak and Shrimp was really good. This is different than most hibachi restaurants as you don't get shrimp for the appetizer. Ginger sauce was ok. The yellow sauce was different however I did like it still poured over my fried rice. The shrimp were huge and great flavor. Definitely will check this place out again if I am ever in Denver.

My guy has a nostalgia for this chain from his childhood, so I can count on coming to Mt. Fuji at least once a year for his birthday. I found myself here for this very reason a couple of weeks ago. We consistently have great service when we come here and our chef is always upbeat. This particular night, we had Juan as our chef. He was really funny and kept the group engaged. My gripe about Mt. Fuji is that it is the same show every time. It does not matter which chef you get, I feel like I can recite the script along with them by now. The food is good and comes in HUGE portions, so I am always guaranteed leftovers. I cannot say that I would come here on my own accord, but Mt. Fuji is guaranteed to have me as a customer at least once a year.

Food is great. Service SUCKS. Went in about 7:30 on a Sunday night and ate at a table. There were only 2 other tables of people plus our table and the service was very very slow. Mt Fuji's reviews are dead on when it comes to the service

We are regulars here and the food is pretty solid when getting the right cook. It's a great value compared to Benihans's and we can actually eat as a family and walk out satisfied and under $100. The portions are very large and my husband and I always share a meal (there is a $5 upcharge for shared plates now) and still have food left on the plate. My kids love the food and fun to be had with the chefs - when we get a good one. Experiences have been 95% good until about a month ago when we got chef Cody. We specifically asked him not to do the fire because our 3-year old freaks out with it and asked the others at the table if they would mind passing on it. Everyone was totally fine with it. He completely ignored our request and did it anyway. Everyone looked at us with a "did he just do that look" and of course, she started crying. Next, he drenched butter in EVERYTHING and it was probably double the amount they usually use. I wish I would have taken a picture of everyone's plates because you could see a pile of butter at the bottom from over use of it. At the end of our meal our older daughter asked if he could toss some chicken to her (most of the chefs do this at the end of the meal for fun) and his reply was "I don't do that". What! Every chef does that there but apparently Cody is too cool for it. He was rude through the entire dinner and had attitude. If you go, just ask that you don't get him unless you want a negative experience and love your food saturated in extra extra butter. We were celebrating my mom's birthday after my father just passed so we were hoping for a special family night to cheer her up and Cody was a real bummer! If I get a response from the restaurant on this, I will be happy to change my rating as we love it here but one bad apple really spoiled it for me. One of the reasons we like to eat there is because we love some of the cooks and the servers all know us and are so great with us and our kids.

Went with my family to celebrate a birthday on a Saturday afternoon. We had the Japanese hibachi and our chef was very entertaining. The food was fabulous! I had the lunch combo, with scallops and spicy garlic chicken, which was really good. Unfortunately, I ordered the steamed rice and after tasting my husband's fried rice, I really wished that I had ordered the fried rice. The service was good and the lunch prices were reasonable. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for the "Benihana" style food but don't want to pay the high prices.

Me and my girl went here for lunch and I was very disappointed by the service. It was an almost empty restaurant and there were servers sitting at the bar and talking and not paying any attention to the customers including us. The food was ok, the fried rice was decent but that was about it. The hibachi NY strip was definitely not Ny strip. Overall the food was ok but the service was terrible.

Never got to dinner. I did call ahead seating at 620. Arrived at the restaurant at 645 and they said they were just cleaning a table and they would be right there. Thirty minutes later we were still waiting. By this time people with 7 pm reservations were arriving and not being seated. At 730 I asked again how much longer they 15 minutes just waiting to clean a table. No one seemed to know what they were doing. They finally started seating people with 7 pm reservations and said we would be next. At 755 I look around the restaurant and the tables were full dirty and definitely not ready to be sat so we left. They had no idea what they were doing and we will never be back. We ha e been there a few times before and never had to much trouble. Very disappointing.

I would like to leave a review on the food but I never got to eat. Went in for an early dinner and was told it would be 5 minutes. I figured that wouldn't be a long wait so I took a pit stop (stay away from the women's restroom, the stall doors don't close well if at all). 20 minutes later I was still waiting, four other parties had been seated so I went to Rock Bottom and sat right right down. The service at Mt. Fuji is terrible, can't comment on the food since they never let me eat. Also why I was waiting I got to watch the woman at the front desk eat.

Can I give zero stars? To begin, the atmosphere is very outdated, dull, and grungy from the moment you walk in the door. This, complimented with the lack luster service, made the dining experience atrocious. We spent our meal with minimal attendance from our waiter and with a socially awkward hibachi chef. The food was of decent quality, but was brought down by the portion size and lack of chef staffing (our sushi took over and hour to be prepared). And to end our meal, our waiter switched our sushi order with another patron's. This lack of service and attentiveness is not acceptable, just don't fucking go!

I am going to make this review quick and sweet for a couple of reasons. 1.is because I am writing this while I am at work 2.is because I am feeling pretty lazy tonight and just don't really feel like writing a novel. PLUS 1-Very entertaining 2-Very quick service 3- Very filling 4-Very affordable 5-GREAT for kids NEGITIVES 1-Loud 2-It was hard to understand the server All in all it was a fun experience and I'll be back for sure. I'd TOTALY recommend Mt. Fuji for anyone who has kids.

I went to dinner here with two others on 7/3/14 (a Thursday evening). We were promptly seated with 6 others at a Hibachi grill. The service was okay (I had to wait a while to get a refill on my water). There was only one woman working 5 grills so I was sympathetic. The food was mediocre at best. We ordered 3 sushi rolls (Diamond roll, Dancing Eel and one other). Nothing to write home about. We also ordered two Hibachi chickens and one Hibachi scallops (which were gritty because they weren't cleaned well). Most of the food was also salty because the chef was heavy handed with the sauce. You do get a lot of food but the ordering needs to be rethought. You get soup/salad, then noodles, then rice, then veggies, then protein last. Perhaps the noodles and veggies should be made last because they cook the fastest, otherwise, be prepared to eat each component separately or have cold food. If the food were the only issue, I'd have given them 3 stars. My biggest complaint is the unprofessional and racist chef we had. I didn't catch his name but don't worry--he will be the one making racist 'jokes': "People ask me if I'm Asian because I work here. I tell them I'm Caucasian but I look tired all the time." NOT FUNNY. On two occasions, he attempted to speak with a Japanese accent while mocking elements of Asian culture. He also told us how he recently got a job working at a sushi place downtown where his hours will be 8-3 six days a week and he will make $3000 a month. He then stated: "those are great hours for the pay. The Chinese never let you work so few hours." Again, NOT FUNNY. Lastly, to top it off, he made an awful sexual joke: "It's not cold in here; that's an egg in my pocket." Smh.... All in all, he made my experience extremely uncomfortable. I wanted to leave but my companions seemed disinclined to leave. I recommend this chef leave the service industry because racism is still racism, even when veiled as 'jokes'.

Make a reservation for 8pm. Show up at 745 and told that the reservation didn't actually do anything, be patient there are only 15 tables in front of us and should have us seated by 930. FAIL

Went here last night and sat at a private table on the sushi side. The last time we were here for my mom and husbands birthday the service was terrible. I complained to the manager and he gave us a coupon for 25% off of our next visit. So we thought we would go here for date night last night. We ended up with the same terrible server last night but we hoped he wasn't so new anymore and it might be better. Nope definitely wrong. He served a bomber beer without a glass checked on us after we were done eating. My husband asked for a fork to eat with and he never returned. Needless to say we will NOT be back. Food is great but the service is atrocious. Not worth my money so I'll take my business elsewhere.

The food was utterly disgusting and the service staff had no idea what they were doing. It took almost 15 minutes for the watiress to come and there were only 3 tables. I was served mushy chicken katsu that tasted like dishwater and dumplings on a platter with wilted lettuce. I'm pretty sure the lettuce was reused. The chicken was clearly frozen then fried. We also were triple-charged for rice, and overall, it was a horrible experience.

We've been long time fans of Mt. Fuji as we celebrated our Wedding Rehearsal Dinner at the Denver location and were loyal patrons when we lived in that area. Forward several years later, a move to the suburbs, and location dependent Customers of the Westminster location. Over the past few years we have been to the Westminster location several times, with frustrating wait times/reservation and hostess issues, like a few of these reviews mention, but still came back. Recently we coordinated a party for 20 people during the weekend. We had a great experience with the person we worked with, over the phone, to get everything in order for the event, including them offering to put together a group menu of 5 entree items and specific beverages that folks in our party could select from. We were hosting a clearly large party and we needed to stay within a budget. We were told that there would be an area that would be pre-set up for our party, the personalized menu would be printed, and that everything would be ready to go when we got there at our requested time. When we arrived the day of the event, the hostess seemed to have no idea about our reservation and we had to wait while they set up an area at the Hibachi to accommodate us. The hostess and server started passing out the regular restaurant menus and I quickly went up to the hostess and asked about the limited menu the Manager was supposed to put together for us. She literally yelled at me in front of my party, said she had no idea what I was talking about, that the Manager wasn't there, and that they don't do that. I had to go and talk to each person at the party about what 5 items we were limiting the menu selection to and was so embarrassed that I didn't even mention the beverage limitation. So much for our budget. About the same time everyone started ordering, the hostess finally decided to be somewhat helpful and brought out the printed limited menu for our party. Too little. Too late. I will NEVER go to this location again, period, nor would I recommend it. The food and service from most all of the servers and Hibachi Masters is actually very good, but I can't and won't tolerate the attitude/issues stemming from the front part of the restaurant again.

Food was good. Service was very poor. Had a reservation for big party and sat for more than an hour. The front staff was extremely rude to where one of them almost blurted out an "f" at us when letting them know we had to be somewhere else after. So I would recommend making reservations somewhere else where they are actually considerate about timing.

I used to come to this place every week regularly. The food here is okay, not outstanding, but okay. The service? Forget it. The service here is absolute GARBAGE. Condescending staff. Vulgar innuendo and off-color comments were made by the chef in front of a 3 year old child. Even sitting at a table, the servers are incapable of managing their service area. And the management? Forget it. There's one girl that's friendly enough, but her overall disposition is awkward. The gay guy is nothing but a bunch of attitude. Overall, the entire place is incompetent and make sure you don't look in the kitchen--- you'll want to vomit.

Food is always consistent and service is fair. Kids enjoy it for the show when you get a decent chef who can cook. Bathrooms smell super bad and need to be cleaned. Nit sure why it's been like that for years as every time I go I let them know about the foul odor. If never Been it's worth checking out.

Never again. Like the episode, "I know you know how to TAKE the reservation, but I'm not sure you know how to KEEP the reservation." More than once - on busy nights and calm nights - I've made reservations and had to wait or left when I was rudely told that a "reservation" means the "first table available" in about 45 minutes to an hour. All that for fairly small amounts of mediocre food that's usually way too salty, even if it wasn't mediocre. None of this is fair to the chefs, who do their best to put on a good show with what they've got. Do yourself a favor. Skip this place and go around the corner to Tuk Tuk. Wonderful people, better food, and good sushi.

Reserved table for 6 at 06:45pm. Arrived at 06:35pm for check in and of course was told it would be a minute, which was fine, but you could see the place was maybe 25% full. Other parties started to come in and check in as walk-ins and were also told to wait a minute, but when they they were ready to start seating people they seated the 5 - 6 groups that came in after us. Finally we were seated and then we were greeted for drinks, orders etc. Everyone in our party ordered something off the hibachi grill and our "chef" did a good job. The rice was very good, the vegetables were cooked well and we were able to have Shrimp, Chicken, Steak and Salmon in our party. All were tasty. Food was good, but service needs improvement.

Not good. Food was nothing special and not worth the price. Chef s entertainment is stale at best if you can understand them at all, super quiet and there is a language barrier. Its time to learn a few more tricks other than the "onion volcano" and "choo-choo train". Check out the Mens bathrooms before you order and see if you wanna stick around and eat. Tile falling off bottom left of sink, laminate counter tops coming apart, soap dispenser empty 20 minutes after opening, disgustingly old dust ridden air freshener in the corner and overall dirty, unkept and badly in need of a remodel and frequent maintenance. Hostess was snotty and rude. Spend your money elsewhere, anywhere other than here.

So things have changed at fuji. Dirty. Slow expensive used to be our favorite sushi place. It has chqnged and dont think its as quality a place it once was.

The sushi was fresh, and the waiter was nice, but the presentation left a lot to be desired. The sushi on top of the rainbow roll was hacked into cube shapes. I understand this isn't LA, but seriously?

We went here because it was part of the Upromise list and I was rather disappointed. The sushi was pricey for meh-tasting food. The miso was expensive! $3.50 a bowl! And they were half-filled bowls at that! They DID give us a free roll because they brought us a wrong one. I say not worth it unless you are at the Promenade and desperate for sushi. It's better than East Moon but not as good as some others. I also got a tum-tum ache after wards too, regardless of whether it was a result of the sushi or what (I had cereal for breakfast...) I am now and forever associating Mt. Fuji with colon-ary (haha) discomforts.

Came here tonight 12/26/14 after a movie with my boyfriend excited to eat sushi and a good dinner. He ordered the chicken tempura and I had Hibachi chicken, we started out with our house salad, iceberg lettuce, not impressed and it was full of clumps from the butt of the lettuce, gross. He had the miso soup which was tasteless and congealed. We have eaten miso soup and this has never happened before. Once again. Gross. We eventually got our entrees and his tempura was a plate of deep fried mess and was compared to McDonald's chicken nuggets with a little less flavor. Not to mention it was over fried and still soggy, how does that happen? My Hibachi chicken tasted just below average teriyaki chicken with some chow mien on the side. I was unable to eat to much because I began feeling sick, don't know if it was my food or what but I was once again unimpressed. We also had sushi and it sucked. That's all that can be said. The service was almost as bad as our food and we Sat down and I had no napkin and no utensils. Not okay in any sit down restaurant sorry. Not to mention we didn't have soy sauce and after a while of waiting for it to have with our sushi and it was beyond salty. I felt like a cow licking a salt block... Don't want that with my sushi. It took nearly 30 minutes to get a refill and that's with our waiter walking past our table multiple times.. Boo to that service as well. After leaving we went to get some books at B&N and you know that issue when you go into a book store and have to go to the restroom? Well my boyfriend didn't have that issue, it was definitely the food and all he said was he did not have a pleasant experience in there because of his food.. After getting home we promptly threw away our food. Extremely over priced, my family with 6 people can go to our favorite restaurant and pay $90 for the same food and as a couple we paid $70, so not cool. Not at all impressed and unless you want to over pay for below average food don't come here.

Love the food, service is incredibly terrible. Last visit was a Sunday afternoon and we sat in the sushi area. Only one waitress and three tables. Waitress took 20 minutes to initially ask for our drink. We ordered sushi and it took an hour to receive that. Waitress did not check back even though our drinks were empty. Was not the first time we have experienced terrible service here. We will be going to a different Mt. Fuji from now on even if it is out of the way.

Skip the show. Sit in a table on the south side if the house. Order off the same menu and save 45 minutes. Excellent rice noodle and entrees. Always a favorite date night

I don't have the words. The worst sushi ever. Go to the grocery store before coming here. Not one smile amongst the staff. We sent our rolls all back, no replacements needed. Good bye. Please trust me.

All I can say is that I would avoid this place if you value your health and well being. We ate here earlier this evening with our 17 month old daughter, and they served her milk which expired 15 days ago. Before we were done eating she got very sick in the restaurant. The best part was the waitress didn't seem to care and didn't even take off the milk from our bill, I spoke to the manager who was very apologetic and comped our meal. The owner was there and wanted to see the cap from the mlik, but didn't even have the decency to come apologize. I understand that mistakes happen, but this is beyond excuse. Other than the manager, no one really seemed to care in general. I posted a photo of the milk cap to show you that it was indeed expired.

Okay, not exceptional. Hibachi plates are good. If you get the tongatsu and have had it in Japan, know in advance that this will not be the same. It is much thinner cut of pork and more lightly breaded, but sauce is similar. Servers all seem young and service is reflective of that. Not bad, but could be better. This is a good place for dinner pre/post movie if you don't want to drive elsewhere. Would not be a destination for me otherwise,

Today is my birthday, and hibachi is my favorite restaurant to go to for celebration! It's so delicious and such a fun atmosphere. However, I have never experienced such terrible service as I did today. We decided to go for lunch and sit at a table instead of the grill. We sat for 30 minutes while only receiving our drinks and 1/2 bowl of soup each. The tables next to us with a different server received their soup, salad, sushi, and lunch orders before our soup ever got out. Our waitress only checked on us the one time to take our order and never again. Not only was I frustrated with not getting the things we ordered in a timely manner but it was frustrating to get 1/2 a bowl of soup when we used to get a full bowl. When we got up to leave after the 30 minute wait we were told we don't get salads anymore for lunch. If this is true- why are we paying the exact prices to get ripped off by not getting things that have always been provided? This restaurant is going down quickly! It used to be much better quality and service. Very disappointing..

My family and I have been here a few times now and we always enjoy the atmosphere and the food. The portions are huge (we always have leftovers) and the value for the kid's meals are incredible. We usually get 3 meals out of it between the restaurant and 2 leftover meals. For under $10 for a kid's meal this is a steal! One of my daughters has several severe food allergies and at most restaurants she is almost always relegated to eating macaroni and cheese. Thankfully she loves mac and cheese, but I'd love for her to be able to eat something a bit healthier when we go out. Mt. Fuji was a perfect solution. Aside from the salad which has some kind of ranch dressing and the fried rice which has egg, she can eat anything she wants. She gets so excited to be able to try different things and really feels like a grown up kid. They also have kid chopsticks, which she thought was awesome. She took them home and used them for her leftovers as well! It's certainly not a fancy place, but the food is good and we've always enjoyed the entertainment. The chefs appear to go out of their way to appeal to the kids. Who doesn't like to try and catch flying broccoli in your mouth when you are 6? :) We love to go and will be back soon!

Hibachi! In Denver! I am spoiled from my excellent, family owned place back in upstate NY, but have been desperately searching for a hibachi place here in Denver that compares. While I will say this place hasn't matched up, it is certainly a fine alternative in a pinch. My party of 5 was seated quickly, although the tables felt a little small/cramped. The wait service was a little lacking as far as clearing dishes, which added to the problem, and were not too attentive to drinks. However, the food itself was very good (3 of us had hibachi entrees and 2 had sushi) for the price, and the portions were reasonable. Our chef was a lot of fun (he kept giving us sake shots right from the bottle) and was quite skilled. I also appreciated that he wasn't clanging everything around like some hibachi chefs do, it allowed us to keep our table conversation going. I would definitely return again, and hope they continue to improve.

My friend took me here for lunch today. The waitress told me they don't do substituions on sushi. All I wanted was wasabi tobiko (flying fish roe) without the wasabi. Without talking to the sushi chef, she said no. So I asked if she could ask the chef and she said the wasabi was mixed in with the eggs. What kind of sushi restaurant has wasabi tobiko, but no tobiko? We got our hot food first and it took another 10 minutes for the sushi to come out. It was really good. The food was good but the service soured my experience.

Not sure why this place has such low reviews cause we enjoyed our dinner a lot. The prices were fair and the chef was entertaining. I am gluten free, and they were fairly adaptive to that. I had to remind them each course, though, because they served me a salad with dressing that had gluten in it even though I had already stated I had an allergy. So that's where I docked one star. The hibachi was tasty though and they did have gluten free soy sauce and the chef cooked my food first so it was not touching everything else. I don't eat sushi but it seemed they had a wide selection. The drink menu was also quite extensive, with bowl drinks for two.

Hibachi might be one of my favorite food experiences! So we go to Mt. Fuji every so often because it is close to home. The offer your standard hibachi meats, chicken, seafood; and then do the rice, vegetables, noodles and sauces. They also have a sushi bar which is your average sushi bar. The front entry is usually a little chaotic when they are busy. Their hostesses could do a better job of making order out of the chaos. They could also do a better job of seating couples. Hubby and I were here last weekend on a Saturday night and were seated at a grill with 6 small children. Oh well, glad we had paid for a babysitter...guess its luck of the draw. There is a small bar, and we usually will have a drink while we are waiting. That's been hit or miss because the same bar with usually one bartender is also doing drinks for tables. It's difficult to get their attention for a drink, and then again for your check when your table is ready. Once at the table we always have enjoyed our Hibachi chefs, and service is consistently good. I absolutely love the food here which is what keeps us coming back.

So much better than benehana. Cheaper, much better selections and the salmon was amazing! The only downside was they didn't put chicken in their fried rice

Hands down some of the worst sushi in town. They mask the age of their fish with lemon slices around the plated, and the rolls are filled with raw bread crumbs, Ii cannot believe people consider this even tolerable. Service is okay. Staff was more concerned about watching ESPN than waiting tables, and our waitress probably took 3 smoke breaks while ate. Each time she came to the table, she smelled worse. Manager on duty was curse towards patrons walking in, while the hostess did her best to offset that attitude. She was about the only person there who tried to be professional.

I came here tonight with a coworker who was from out of town and staying at the Springhill Suites close by. We got here around 6 and the place was completely dead. We were the only 2 at the grill, which is fine by me. We started off with some Edamame...yum.... there were a few pods with no peas in them.. where did they go?? hmmmmmm We ordered some Lobster Roll and Hibachi NY Steak and Chicken intent on sharing with each other. The meal starts off with a salad and soup... not a fan of the soup, but love the 'special' sauce on the salad. The chef was fun and entertaining. He poured shots of Saki into our mouths out of a squirt bottle. Then he pulled another bottle and shot it at my friend.. a stream of what looked like ketshup sprayed all over my friend... but NO... it was a a string that squirted out and scared (faked us out) us briefly ( thought there was going to be an @$$ beating if it was real... ha ha ha ) The normal entertaining was going on... love zucchini , broccoli, noodles... YUM. The steak was great, and chicken good. We surely couldn't finish everything. Even the left overs made a full meal. There was VERY good portions of both meals for us to share. Top it off with the chef trying to shoot a peace of chicken into our mouths... FUN. By the way, the only reason why it missed was on OUR accord, he has remarkable aim from a spatula.... We were in an out within an hour, mainly because there were only two of us.... but by the time we left at 7, it was starting to get a bit crowded. The service was good. The price... well pricey, but along the lines of this type of establishment. I am used to having a few pieces of shrimp as part of a meal.. but not included here in the meal... you can purchase... Parking is NOT fun if it is cold or snowy... it is in a less than desirable location for parking and running in... you can drop people off close if you would like, and park in the lot....

This place is horrible. Maybe we just came before the good chefs got here(lunch) but I ordered the Teriyaki Tuna Steak and asked for it to be seared. When it was brought out it was beyond well done and when I asked for it to be redone they once again overcooked it. We also got some sushi... Avoid that at all costs. This place is a brutal failure as a restaurant and we will most definitely not be returning.

This place was quite dull. The restaurant was dead quiet, we felt like we were the only customers, and the sushi chefs were standing around playing with their phones. We were seated at sushi bar. I had a sashimi deluxe and my colleague had a sashimi regular. Chef hands me what I ordered but then gives my colleague a sushi plate. He told the chef that it was the wrong dish. He takes it back, turns his back, and start separating the rice and the fish... Now it becomes instant sashimi.. WOW...

I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 stars because there have been a few times where they're not consistent with the way their food is prepared. However, generally we have a pretty good experience. The prices for sushi and hibachi are reasonable, especially their lunch prices. You can get 2 select rolls, salad (yummiest dressing ever) and miso soup for 9 bucks at lunch time, which is a pretty good deal I think. My daughter loves to go there and she always goes up to watch the sushi chefs make her sushi... she talks their ears off, but they are always super friendly with her and more often than not, customize her order to make her happy (she gets the sashimi lunch and they let her pick the fish she wants and sometimes they decorate the plate for her.) Overall, we dig the place and we'll keep coming back.

We're not going again and we are telling our friends and family not to. My fiance and I have been there a few times and loved it. But we decided to go there for lunch for valentine's day, thinking it would be great to go where we had our first date. This time was horrible. They weren't busy (as one grill had two people and most were empty) yet we received horrible service. I didn't receive a refill for my drink and my fiance only received two (our drinks were empty way before we finished our food). When we got there we were seated at a grill with five other people. They got their bills and left, but we were waiting for an additional 20 minutes. We were so thristy that we were considering drinking from the people who had been seated next to us and had left. We tried to get the waiter's attention, but they walked by us every time. We felt ignored and it wasn't until we considered walking out that the bus boy put down dirty dishes to take our bill. To top it off, the food was mediocre and we didn't get very much, substantially les than what we had gotten in the past.

I've only had sushi here but I've tried the other Mt. Fujis around the Denver area and this one is by far the best of them. We like to eat the special rolls to get an idea of the restaurant. Their rolls have wonderful full flavors. Occasionally they will be swimming in the spicy mayo but that doesn't ruin the taste. The service can be somewhat disheartening but the food makes up for it.

I love this place. Im here about 3 times a month. The food is great, the sushi is wonderful, and for a habachi place, Its very well priced.i reccomend it to everybody. during the week days it can be very dead in there. wich is kind of strange but i dont mind it.

I feel real bad for the chef and staff. The manager Voni (the guy) left me a voicemail cancelling our Christmas Eve reservation at 8 pm. I called back twice left messages with him with no response, his hostess was not helpful either and one, did not deliver the message or did not care. I was more than happy to reschedule or just agree to cancel and find another venue. Since I did not here back, and needed a spot for 10, I gave them 2 days, I made another reservation for a place up the road. I feel horrible, because the chef called at 8:10 that night asking if we were still coming in, I told him and why we were not I appologized is beyond me. Shame on that manager Voni to do that to his staff!

I used to go to Hibachi fairly often when it was open and I was really sad when it closed. When it reopened as Mt. Fuji I was one of the first people there and it was a severe disappointment. I remember sitting at the sushi bar and asking the hispanic sushi chefs if they were excited about the new business and both of them said "no." Hmm... yeah, it wasn't very good. So it took awhile for me to check the place out again. They had a special for Restaurant Week so I went with a friend to try it for dinner. The deal couldn't be beat. We had sushi, though the hibachi side of it was packed full of squealing and screaming fans. Yikes. We started with a large house sake, green mussels and tempura shrimp and veggies. The sake tasted like bread (seriously, it had a yeasty taste that was very odd and not very good, but it's house sake so whatever) but the rest was good. Nothing stood out above other sushi restaurants, but it was fine. The miso soup was fine. The salad was fine. We got a boat full of sushi and sashimi next (yay, boats!). It had a good variety. We also ordered a Mt. Fuji roll (dynamite roll, basically) and what was basically a spicy tuna roll. The fish was fresh but some of the pieces were pretty small. The spicy tuna roll looked like something I would put together (I've never made my own sushi) and we joked about how they need to buy more bamboo mats for rolling. It was one of the saddest rolls I've ever seen though it tasted good. The Mt. Fuji roll was just fine. They don't ever have shiso and that's a must for me with sashimi. Not good. We finished with the fried ice cream. The ice cream was frozen very hard but the breading was good. All in all, it was a fine meal. I wouldn't turn it away but I wouldn't specifically crave it. There are so many good places very nearby and it really can't compete. But if I'm feeling like sushi and a movie this would be a good bet with the theater right across the sidewalk. It's just fine.

I have been coming to this place since it was just Hibachi. I had great experience when it was just Hibachi. They even remembered me, even if it had been months since I had been in. Now that it is Mt. Fugi I've had three different bad experiences. I usually come alone and eat here for lunch. They have brought out cold food, they have forgot something and they have the worst wait staff. I can understand if its busy or one time but 3 times. Come on! The wait staff sits at this one table and chit chats forgetting they have customers. I had to look at them to get their attention. The food is okay, very filling. The only reason I come back is because It's close to my house. Otherwise I wouldn't.

I have not had the sushi at this place but the grill is good. Especially if you order the better cuts of meat like the filet mignon. And I do really like the fried rice which they prepare right there on the grill. Overall I think this place is good if you are looking for dinner and entertainment. I've eaten here 3 or 4 times and was never disappointed with the food.

We used to frequent this restaurant quite often when it was called Hibachi. Sadly, it has gone wayyyy down hill. Food from soup to entre tasted like diluted watered down distant cousins of the delectable delights we used to enjoy. Very disappointing meal. The entire Promenade seems diluted and mostly empty as well. Won't be back, ever!

Very disappointing. Had reservations for 7:30 - was seated at 8:35. I checked at hostess desk at 8:00 asking when we might be seated - one of the 3 young hostesses - rolled her eyes and said "when a table is available" - We were seated at a table for 13 - the "chef" did not interact with us - I ordered filet and shrimp - didn't get the shrimp and another person at our table (not our party) - didn't get his steak - had to add it on at the last minute. Food was adequate but the customer service was non existent. We will not be returning. Benihanna is our go to place - will not be returning.

This is my favorite restaurant, and we eat here with the kids very frequently. It used to be Hibachi, and I loved it, but when it changed to Mt. Fuji I didn't love it. Fortunately, they changed many of their recipes back to the way they were when it was Hibachi, and it's still a great place to eat.

We enjoyed our meals both times we have been here. Not quite the same as Benihana, but less expensive and the food is still yummy!

My hubby took me here for my birthday a few months ago, and it was delicious! I was 5 months pregnant at the time, and I had absolutely no trouble consuming or digesting the food as mentioned in the other review (trust me, if the food was bad, it would have immediately come back up). We sat at the hibachi table, and luckily there were 2 other fun couples and a good-humored chef at the table, so it was very entertaining to say the least! Our food was ALL delicious and cooked perfectly (we watched them cook it right in front of us, so yeah, it was fresh and hot). Not being able to consume raw fish at the time, I opted for the sweet potato tempura roll. It was so tasty (and enough to satisfy my sushi craving)! The miso soup was also delicious, as was the freshly prepared fried rice. I got the spicy garlic chicken and my hubby got the fillet. My chicken was steaming hot, flavorful and juicy! My hubby enjoyed his steak as it was cooked to perfection :) He also got a sake sampler (A shot of 4 different kinds of sake) that I did not try, but he was rather fond of. We told them it was my birthday, and they brought out a free bowl of orange sherbet with a candle in it and sang happy birthday (the whole table sang) :) Even though I thought I was full, I managed to eat my birthday dessert. I would definitely go back to this place!

I wish I could give this place zero stars! Second time here, and definitely our last! Service was by far the worst we have ever had. Waited 10 minutes for a table when we had reservations, and the restaurant was literally empty, server didn't even ask for our drinks before we got the cold dishwater soup, and the food was the blandest we have ever tasted! We frequent Benihana monthly, and mt Fuji makes Benihana look like a god of restaurants! The server couldn't answer simple questions like how big is the steak, what kind of wine do you have, or even take the time to fill up water glasses. Remember this was a Wednesday night, when maybe 10 other people were there. The hibachi chef sped through the cooking, not making eye contact with anyone as if it were a race, and apparently forgot to season any of the food. We felt like we were in a nursing home where everything was so bland, it was in edible! The steaks were a horrible cut that was chewy and had tons of fat, and even the hibachi chicken was so dry, you could probably choke on it! We never got asked how our meal was, never asked if we wanted dessert, and we had to tell the hostess 3 times it was for a birthday! I also was not impressed with the look of the restaurant. Reminds me of an out of date, dingy restaurant in the middle of colfax! We also were a table of 6, and were pleasured with an automatic 19 percent gratuity. We do not mind leaving 20 percent, and do so every time we go out, but for the service, food, and type of restaurant, that was a little much! I would recommend staying away from this place. 90 bucks worth of food went into the trash that evening for us!

I was excited for a Hibachi place since there are not as many in the Greater Denver Area as my hometown. Your experience probably depends on the chef. Ours was named Jesus(I'm not sure how many of those you find around Japan.) While the chef was certainly entertaining, everything was cooked with way too much garlic butter. I ordinarily like garlic, but in this case, it was overpowering. I got a lot of food, but I didn't really enjoy any of it due to the pervasive garlic taste that was subsumed in everything. Vegetables, fried rice, and the main entree, all tasted of the garlic butter. There were a lot of new cooking tricks that I hadn't seen at other Hibachi restaurants, but even with those, I keep wondering how anybody bothers coming here if the food isn't any good.

This restaurant used to be Hibachi Grill and it was wonderful then... we loved it. Now it is Mt. Fuji Hibachi, and it is terrible. And I do mean terrible. We went there for the first time since it has gotten a new owner, and were appalled. My husband's and my daughter's food both came out cold... not luke-warm,... cold. They both ordered their steak medium and it came out well done (well done and cold... how does that happen?) I sent my daughter's food back to be warmed up (my husband is deathly afraid of spit in his food so he kept his). Even warm, the steak was terrible... it was like eating an unseasoned hockey puck. A very thin and fatty unseasoned hockey puck. I ordered sushi which I shared with my daughter, which actually tasted pretty good... of course my daughter threw it up when we got home and I spent the evening on the toilet, but at least it tasted good going down. When we paid our bill the waitress said she hoped that we'd be back and I told her that this was highly unlikely due to the poor food quality. She said that she was sorry about that and she brought my daughter some free ice cream, but never told a manager that we had such a miserable experience (or a manager never came over anyway.) All in all, such a shame. Hibachi Grill was our very favorite place to go and now that it is Mt. Fuji we have to find another place. Bummer.

Chi chi rollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllÂlllllllllllllllllsssssssssssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!Â!!!!!!!!! SO GOOD! TRY THE CHI CHI ROLLS! Sushi man MARCUS is AMAZING!!!!!

Sushi was awesome..soup and salad was good.. entree was lacking. .. very bland and the wait was long. The wait for our check was also long I'd go back for sushi
(3)Meredith W.

(2)Jason B.
(1)Da D.
(2)Matt B.
(1)Lee D.
(1)Geri L.

(2)Lily A.
(5)Sara S.

Great food and fast service. The staff is very friendly. If you are in the area stop by for a bite to eat.
(5)Rachel S.
(3)Khampha K.
(3)Mel P.
Sushi is awesome. Hibachi is great. Service was so so. But most of the time everything is great
(4)Derek V.

(1)Rachel J.

(3)Shaun S.

(3)Tori C.
Food is great. Service SUCKS. Went in about 7:30 on a Sunday night and ate at a table. There were only 2 other tables of people plus our table and the service was very very slow. Mt Fuji's reviews are dead on when it comes to the service

Delicious. Can't go wrong with the samurai combo: filet mignon, shrimp, scallops! And their seafood sauce is so good I wanna bathe in it.

Had a great time tonight! Shrimp, lobster & fried rice! Chef was great and put on a good show. Waitress was very attentive and gave good suggestions. We will definitely return!
(5)Ben G.
Food was fantastic. I got the filet and also had some chicken... The filet melted in my mouth. Chef we had was hilarious and entertaining. Overall a great dining experience!

(1)Kelsie H.
Went for the 5280 deal. Good food but not really worth the price tag for us. Chef was nice and entertaining. The women's bathroom was bad. Not one door locked and everything was wet. Why was everything wet? Trash overflowing etc.

Bland and disgusting. Go elsewhere!
(1)Krista G.

(1)Travis J.

(2)Mike S.
Make a reservation for 8pm. Show up at 745 and told that the reservation didn't actually do anything, be patient there are only 15 tables in front of us and should have us seated by 930. FAIL
(1)Nicole K.
(2)Maggie R.

(1)Susan S.
(2)David T.
(1)Scott R.
Food is always consistent and service is fair. Kids enjoy it for the show when you get a decent chef who can cook. Bathrooms smell super bad and need to be cleaned. Nit sure why it's been like that for years as every time I go I let them know about the foul odor. If never Been it's worth checking out.
(3)Kevin B.
(2)Tim C.
(3)Charles P.

(2)Lisa S.
The sushi was fresh, and the waiter was nice, but the presentation left a lot to be desired. The sushi on top of the rainbow roll was hacked into cube shapes. I understand this isn't LA, but seriously?
(3)Erin T.

(1)Aspen T.
(1)Jason K.
Skip the show. Sit in a table on the south side if the house. Order off the same menu and save 45 minutes. Excellent rice noodle and entrees. Always a favorite date night
(5)Dawn W.
I don't have the words. The worst sushi ever. Go to the grocery store before coming here. Not one smile amongst the staff. We sent our rolls all back, no replacements needed. Good bye. Please trust me.
(1)Brandon H.

Would not be a destination for me otherwise,
(3)Mark M.
(1)Sam M.
(5)Phil H.
Hibachi!
(3)Katherine S.
(3)Sarah S.
(4)Jenn D.
(3)Sharon S.
So much better than benehana. Cheaper, much better selections and the salmon was amazing! The only downside was they didn't put chicken in their fried rice
(5)Richard M.
(1)Samantha S.
(4)Chris C.
(1)Hideo M.
WOW...
(1)Sophan C.
The show was great. Our chef, Santos was funny and was a great cook. The deal for 5280 was good, plenty of food for the price. My friends and I enjoyed it a lot!
(4)Monica G.
Food was undercooked, Sushi wasn't fresh......and the Hibachi Cook... was super messy and not entertaining at all... worst food ever!
(1)Rachel M.
(4)Lindsay D.
(2)Josh S.
About as good as any other
(3)Shawna L.
(4)Randy B.
A very nice lunch. Good Sushi but great Tonkatsu and Shrimp. The food was excellent. The restaurant was clean and a bit too sunny. They are close to being excellent, but they are not there yet.

A lot of food. If you leave here hungry it's your own dang fault.

We tried their Hibachi grill twice and loved it both times. Great food, not greasy, nice variety to choose from, and very entertaining. We will definitely come back.

Always a good time at Mt.Fuji! Love the filet mignon at the hibachi! Great night out with friends with entertainment while eating.

I liked this location better when it was Hibachi. Been here several times before it became Mt. Fuji. Food was ok. Sushi was decent. Menu was overpriced, Ive had better.

Bummer.
