The Shrimp Ceviche here and Chile con Queso are what keeps bringing us back. Not to mention the fantastic customer service we receive every time we are here. Los Arcos has won over the gringo population of Westminster and Arvada, and even some of our friends down South eagerly make the trip up North to dine with us here. The prices are very reasonable, and this is one of our top "group dinner" spots, as we can all get out of here with drinks and dinner for about $20 / person. Pro Tips: This place is PACKED between 5:00PM-7:00PM. Get here at 4:30PM and you will beat the rush. Also- there is an excellent dive bar in the rear of the building called the Rear Inn Lounge. Stop by after dinner for a quick cocktail!

Bleh. I don't love Mexican food as it is but my husband loves it so we gave this place a go. Tuesday at 1pm they were decently busy. They sat us right away but it took them a while to get our drink order. Our waiter was unnecessarily sarcastic / plain rude. He had side comments for every request we made. We call smothered burritos "burrito mojado" so that's what my husband asked for and the waiter gave him a look that was uncalled for. I can list everything he did but I'll just sum up and say it was just a lot of snarkiness. The food came fast... Props for that. I got the shrimp and chicken fajitas... The dish looked like it had a ton of food in it so I was impressed but as I dug in I realized it was all onions and peppers. There was maybe 4 shrimps and some chicken. It didn't taste bad. It just didn't taste great... I can make better fajitas using the Lawry's seasoning mix and I quite honestly don't go to restaurants for food that I can make better at home. The food was ok but the service was less than impressive. Will not be back.

Great salsa, busy parking lot hype. It was a mirage! I heard that "Los Arcos" was the place to have lunch with friends in #Westminster, Colorado. I was proven otherwise..From the young lady who sat us, to the rude/ snarky waitor "A"..., our experience at "Los Arcos" was very awkward with a touch of abandonment. We are originally from California where Mexican #restaurants are unique and authentic. We have been on a good streak of great service and quality food, until today. I try to avoid bad or okay reviews on yelp, but i'd rather the next person or group benefit from my experience. You're better off eating the Salsa & chips, talking to other groups in the restaurant and sitting at the bar. Thank you! Louie M

This is a family friendly restaurant. We live near here and wind up here at least once a month. I have read some of the reveiws left here and would like to say that the staff has always been friendly and bent over backwards for us. If you do give this place a try you will likely on most nights see a few tables with 4 or 5 generations sitting down and having a meal. The food is representative of this diversity. If you are in the neighborhood stop by and give them a try. I like to enjoy a blended margarita with my tacos, maybe we will see you there.

This place sucks balls I really could barely eat the uncooked dog meat in my taco I really can't describe how terrible the atmosphere is, feels like the wal mart super enter of shitty Mexican food. Our server may have been high on Xanax. Salsa tasted like water

I don't know how this restaurant gets good rating. This place is one step up from Taco John.

Food was delicious, drinks were nice and strong, great ambiance, fast and friendly waitress...BUT the hostess was rude to my son, then to me, guess she was too busy talking to other staff to DO HER JOB. I'll be back, but if i see her up front i may ask to seat myself.

Was here a year ago and rated the food and service great. Just went there today and the food and service was awful. The prices are much higher the menu has changed and the food is awful. My mother and I both got really sick after eating the food there. The green chili is watered down with no taste at all. Sad to say this place has gone down hill. They may have more places now but the food and service are bad. Won't be going there again.

We always have great service here! The food is quick and the margaritas are delicious!

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the Denver Metro area. I love going there. My husband and I try to go there about once per week whenever we get the opportunity. We've never had to wait too long to get seated, even on the busiest Friday night. Our food come out really quickly. The staff is very friendly and the management makes us feel like family. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for a great dining experience with excellent food.

  • Cait L.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant. The Los Arcos special and combos are so good. Try the Tex Mex Queso too. Best part, hands down the greatest margaritas in Denver. Get them frozen!

  • Tina E.

We just moved here and have seen the busy parking lot and thought we would give it a try. I don't get all the good reviews. The food is very bland. Salsa tastes like nothing. The red sauce for the carnitas was had zero flavor. I can say the service was good.

My husband and I had lunch here not long ago. The service was good though we waited an eternity for our food. Our server was very apologetic and told us they only had one kitchen open and they had been very busy. We love their express location on 92nd so we were fine to wait. I ordered what I usually do (steak tacos) expecting the same yummy meal I had gotten at their other location or better, but while it looked the same it most definitely did not taste as good. The tortillas were cold as if just taken out of the fridge and the whole meal lacked seasoning. My husband wasn't terribly impressed with his either. I was very disappointed.... I expected the actual restraunt location to be so much better. I will say their service was great and very friendly. They did end up bring my son a sundae and sopillas for us for dessert as a surprise because of the wait. We took the sopillas home for the kids as we weren't hungry but it was the thought that counted. I'll give them the benefit of doubt in being an off day and at some point go back since we like their express location so well but this visit we were quite disappointed.

I over all think that the food is alright and the salsa is really good. Don't go during the day it tastes like it was microwaved. The service is alright. Overall I think their are better Mexican food places

  • Kayce H.

I love this place. We have been coming here longer than I remember. The service is great and super fast! The green chili is the best! I personally love all of their burritos. The fish tacos are great and the fajitas are wonderful too!

  • Dagger G.

One word. Excellent! The soft tacos Los Arcos was fantastic. I recommend it to anyone testing out a Mexican food restaurant. One beef, One been, and one guacamole soft corn taco packed with lettuce, tomato and cheese and smothered with superb tasting green Chile with pork.

  • John G.

. Portion size was good quality of food was good but it Felt like we were being swept out the door before we got our chips and salsa! Still haven't been back and dont miss it.

    (2)
  • Ryan B.

I've been to many Mexican joints in my day and this one was definitely one of the worst. The ground beef tacos taste no better than Taco Bell and were undercooked. Not to mention the service was trash.

  • Kayla H.

This is how the night went... Chips and salsa girl did not speak English so then had to wait on our server. Our server took 10 mins to take our drink order, there was no drink menu so she came back 5 mins later to give us that. We ordered the sampler platter. It was disgusting and wasn't complete. There were no sauces or guac and no chicken taquitos like menu stated. The food was boring and just mainly cheese, although it was edible. We constantly had to ask for things- water, salsa, chips, napkins, etc. The tostada didn't have beans? The only good thing was the top shelf margarita, which was perfect (not too sweet, not too strong, but taste tequila). I will never come back here for the food... Maybe for the margaritas. Service: horrible, prepare to wait- A LOT! Food: boring Cleanliness: good Atmosphere: good

I have been going to this restaurant since I was 7 years old. I Remember when it was a hole in the wall. Most of the staff have worked here for over 25 years. They always stop and talk to me and ask me about my parents. Which makes me feel like I am visiting my friends. I have yet to find another restaurant that can compete with their Chimmichanga. Yes, I will admit that the food is not as good as it used to be. The flavor is lacking. I still love the place. It is better than most. The pictures on the walls are portrait paintings of the the family. Along with the usual Mexican parrots and pottery. The bar is small but the drinks are strong. Plenty of parking. The restaurant is very large and great for group parties. I will always love Los Arcos.

  • Christy L.

Stopped by for lunch when we noticed the parking lot was full. That's always a good sign. We were charmed by the decor. It definitely reminded me of places I'd grown up with in Southern New Mexico. Unfortunately, that's where the similarities ended. Although the service was friendly and fast, the food was bland from the salsa to the entrees.

    (2)
  • Amanda N.

Been going to this place since I was a kid. On the BEST MEXICAN FOOD I'VE EVER HAD scale, this doesn't approach the top, but the food IS good. The service is (normally) charming and on top of things.

  • Andye M.

I wanted to love this place. Close to home and always packed, though I'm not really sure why. We sat outside on a windy Wednesday evening. The waitress seemed to forget we were there, multiple requests for refills and little attention to us was paid. Another nearby table complained to a manager and received impeccable service the rest of the eve, maybe that was the trick. The food was bland, unappealing and late coming out. While the portions were large, I didn't even want to bring it home. Boooooo. I was told the margaritas were tasty but I wasn't feeling it. Los Arcos, thanks for the view on the patio, it was sadly your strongest point.

    (2)
  • Kent W.

Wow. The parking lot is packed again!!! Yes!! This is a great sign. That means 500 people that are out tonite will NOT be at one of the good Mexican restaurants in my area! Thank you Los Arcos, the Casa Bonita of the north (minus the kitschy fun entertainment). I must admit, I haven't been there in nearly a long enough amount of time, but I stand by my words. I am just continually amazed that there are so many cars in that lot.

  • Heather S.

Large dinning area, not much parking, always hard to find a place if it's dinner time. Love the salsa they bring to the table. It's a go to place if I want some sit down Mexican food.

  • Miguel G.

Ok, I looove Mexican food! This was actually recommended to me by a couple of people. My friend that I went with said she went there a couple of years ago, and the food was bland, but things might have changed. I thought, hey... I'll give it a try. Let me start off by saying the service was good and the atmosphere was decent. Ground beef tacos!? Really!?!? Who does that... Taco Bell. It was a good serving portion, but the food was completely Americanized! The food tasted like paper, and I got sick shortly afterward. So did my friend, so it couldn't have just been me. Do yourself a favor and avoid! Your stomach will thank you!

    (1)
  • Sandy N.

Thought I'd try it out since the parking lot seems to always be full. It was okay. Order fajitas, they were all right, but wasn't all that great. 3 Margarita's is better and they're nicer. Probably won't come back to this place any time soon.

  • Ashley L.

We have been in here a lot of times and we always love it! If we want Mexican food this is the best place around and we always end up here. Tonight we had a wonderful server named Brandon who was friendly, funny and very attentive! The service is always good. They were packed and we still got our food within 5 minutes of ordering which was awesome and of course the meal was delicious! We would give this place 6 stars if we could!

  • April B.

Just about any thing you get off the menu is awesome. Chicken mole on Wednesdays is the best! Staff is great!

  • Desiree P.

Pretty good. Love the happy hour menu. Fun and festive place if you're in the mood for Mexican food. The chicken mole is very tasty and they have very knowledgeable bartenders that can do more than just open a bottle. Their margaritas, daiquiris and mojitos are very good and well made. Great place for a family dinner and an after work get together. My only complaint is that we went for my husbands birthday Monday evening just him and I we asked for a table instead of bar seating and our waiter completely ignored us. He acted as if we were inconveniencing him. When we ordered drinks her hurried off before I could say and a water he had someone else bring us our drinks. When we ordered he seemed in a terrible rush. But when he wasn't at our table he was conversing and being very nice with a couple other larger party tables he had. A busboy brought us our food. No refills. No checkin in to see if things were ok. And we had to ask three different times two different people for our check. My husband said he felt as if "We weren't a big enough tip" for him to pay much attention to. Sad really because we are great tippers especially for great service. I've usually have always had great service at Los Arcos so Monday evening was a little disappointing. However overall its a pretty great place.

Everything tasted good except the queso dip. It was literally a dish of shredded cheese put the microwave. I was disappointed.

Great Food and Great Service. We went here on a busy Friday evening and the service was great. Our server Ashlie was super busy and still took very good care of us.

I am a teacher at a nearby school. This restaurant is quick and good. This is a favorite spot for us when we have a professional development day. The salsa is yummy. The chips are a little strange. The tacos and burritos are great.

Honestly, this place is cheaper than the Christmas decorations found in a trailer park and insurance bought from a mall kiosk. For $10 (American money) you can eat your way through the Los Arcos Special. Are you sitting down? That's a smothered cheese and onion enchilada, with a tamale spooning the enchilada, a smothered bean burrito stretched out like a basketball player resting in a crib, taking up the majority of the plate, and a soft beef taco leaning, touching, squeezing, and trying desperately to hold on and not fall off the side of your plate. All colorfully decorated in lettuce, cheese and tomato. Sounds like a lot for 10 bucks eh? Wait, here comes plate #2 (dos). Distributed with a hard shell (corn tortilla) beef taco and a bean tostada. Lying helplessly and motionless under the taco, the tostada camouflaged like a sniper dawning a ghillie suit. With an enormous mound of lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, I actually thought at first glance, it was a taco salad. Seems the cooks love to "bedazzle" their plates with lettuce and cheese garnish. Now add the extra spicy green chile to ensure maximum "gooiness" from the cheese and a side of roasted jalapeños...you'll be tapping out quicker than a George St. Pierre opponent. Go ahead, try and finish it. 1 Star: Price 2-3 stars: Sheer Volume

We ate here last night because I was craving salsa and chips. I think I got burnt out from Mexican food when that's all I ate and dated back in my late teens and early 20's. lol Use to go to Mexico all the time and still go these days for vacation. My husband Loves his Mexican food and he's taken me to over 10 different places to see if there's one that I wouldn't mind eating at atleast once a week or that we agree on that is. I do like another place, but he thinks it's too well rounded as where they serve some good american food as well. So here goes: Tried going here before, but I don't like to wait so I throw a hissy fit and we leave...lol yes call my a brat, but hey he let's me act like one...Well we finally went here and it was busy, but not overly crowded. The host and waitress was soooo nice, almost overly and well hey I'm a girl so I notice when one is Really pretty and my husband agreed. She was attentive and fast, and also changed the tv to the basketball game...(Which I wouldn't have done)..lol not like he's a talker like myself. well this is what we had: Salsa/w Chips - I love their salsa,it's actually SPICY!! I like Hot, but most places here are mild, where as I'm used spicy and hot..and yes the two are different in the meanings, yet similar at the same time. Virgin Bloody mary - I love when the salt the rims, usually I ask, but I forgot, and yet it came out how I like it. And it was spicy without me having to ask. Guacamole - this was a good portion and I had a lot left to use on my dinner Hubby had -Tacos El Carbons - I had one and the steak was soo tasty and I love the big slices of avocado on them and how fresh it was. Just like Playa de car.. I had the Supreme Sopapilla - this was HUGE and I had a quarter left to take home, only cuz I stuffed myself like a baked tomato. There was soo much steak, which I opted for and chose the green chile. The pork was tender and the mixture, just came together. I never had that before and it was a toss up between the milanese, chicken mole or this...Well needless to say I will be going back here to try the other two. I take pictures almost everywhere I go, they may not be the best, but it gives you an idea what you're in for. I also try to get pics of the inside.. If I were a photographer they'd be better, but I am rushing to take the picture, so I can eat..:-) I don't know why people say it's not authentic, but then again depends on where you visit and eat, because in playa de car, there's more of a European twist and a Lot of Italian food there as opposed to cabo san lucas, juarez and Mexico City. All I can say is I'm glad I like this place!!

We came here on a Saturday for a late lunch. The service was great and we enjoyed the food very much. My wife had fajitas with beef and chicken: they were seasoned well and flavorful, not too salty or spicy. I loved my chile relleno - I judge a Mexican restaurant by it and this one passed the test. The flan we had for dessert received top marks from us. If we are in this area again, we will come back for sure.

    (4)
  • Eric P.

Little to no flavor in food, very bland no spices. Weak drinks. Good salsa if you don't like mild. Nice decor.

  • Trevor W.

Not too shabby. My in-laws like their Tacos al Carbon. It's not my favorite, go-to Tex-Mex location, but it is better than some other places I know (i.e., Las Delicias [taste] and even Haciendas [taste for price]). I know that there's a plenty of fans of this place and I can see why, but I can find better tasting tex-mex elsewhere.

Sorry but I have to stand by my earlier review. The restaurant itself has taken over all the other businesses that were once in this strip mall which in itself is testament to it's popularity and the food isn't bad, it's just doesn't compare to what's available out there. From the store bought tasting chips with fairly flavorless salsa lacking any spice to the Steak and the Pork Tacos Al Carbon (my sis-in-law and I split the two orders) with overly dry and underseasoned beef and adequately seasoned but not memorable pork to the non-crispy crispy rellenos smothered in a very much tomato based and not much else green chile that my wife ordered. I would almost rather have food from the 24 hour, San Diego style mex, once was a Taco Bell, R-bertos just a block away. The latino to gringo ratio was up slightly, maybe a 1 to 40 but no mexicanos. There were only chicanos and 3 disappointed Asians. It'll probably be another 7 years before I go back... maybe to one of their other locations (I'm sure they'll be others by then. There are a lot of people with a lighter shade of taste out there and more are moving here every day.). De nalgas.

Have you ever had really good Mexican food ? Have you ever had really good Mexican food but then couldn't find it for a long time? Well this place sure hits the spot and reminds me of home. Pueblo, CO has the best Mexican food, but this family owned restaurant near my current home in Broomfield brings the taste buds back for a familiar experience. Great food! Not my best service this time around but will still come back for the best Mexican food I've had up north near Broomfield area.

My boyfriend and I came to the restaurant for dinner, it was an amazing night so we asked to be seated outside. The hostess rolled her eyes and seated us. it was about an hour and a half before they closed and another couple was on the patio with us the staff started to clean and put up all of the chairs around us. The other couple looked at us and said i guess they want us to leave, at that moment we hadn't received our food yet. We received our food about 5 mins later and they continued to clean around us as the manager was staring at us like we weren't eating fast enough. I have never felt so uncomfortable and had such horrible service!!! I cant even remember if the food was good because i was treated so horribly. I will never go back there again and i wouldn't recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy.

We drive by this place all the time. It's always packed!! I decided to take my kinda picky very Mexican mother for dinner and she enjoyed her meal (it's hard to wow old fashioned Mexican moms lol). I can tell some of their stuff is already prepared and probably just heated up. However, it was a nice decent meal. Prices are similar to other Mexican restaurants I think. Will probably be back for another visit. Oh by the way! I believe they're closed on Sundays.

Yuck! This place used to be good years ago but they have taken the wrong turn on flavor street.

  • Talia T.

I'm always shocked that this place is so busy. The first time I went there I got tacos which made taco bell seem like gourmet and they were literally sitting in a pool of grease. Disgusting. Vowed to never return. Ofcourse I got conned into trying it again, this time a mariachi band played right next to our table through the ENTIRE meal. Have you ever had a trumpet go off in your ear for an hour? NOT GOOD. My husband was livid. Food was awful awful awful and totally americanized. Service was ok though. Decor is nice and it is a big place. Definitely don't recommend.

We have been looking for good Mexican food and atmosphere in Westminster and found it! We went on a weekend; 20 min wait not bad! Salsa and guac very good! I got fried tacos very good! Husband got something that was huge, fried and had potatoes in it (can't remember the name) but he liked it! Mother in law got chicken enchiladas which were STUFFED with chicken almost too much but very tasty! We got fried ice cream & sopapillas which both were great as well! Atmosphere was fun and louder so great to mask the loud talking of our 2 yr old. We will be back!

Have been coming to Los Arcos for years and years! They are always jam packed busy and for a reason. The food is always HOT, FAST and fairly tasty. The prices have been going up over the years and they recently changed the menu to add a few new items that are intriguing. The only problem I really have with los arcos is they nickel and dime you for everything. Side of cherries with your cherry coke? .50 cents, limes with your entree? same thing. sour cream? like 1.50. I understand all of these items cost money but it really deters me from choosing this restaurant over others because for 2 people lunch at a mexican restaurant shouldn't be $45 with no dessert .

    (3)
  • Nichole V.

Food blah....just a step up from some canned mexican food....but the margaritas are on point and priced fairly. Put it this way, you'll only need one margarita to catch a strong buzz !

    (4)
  • Hilary D.

I love Los Arcos so much! Service is fast and friendly, the margs are generous, and the fresh homemade salsa is as good as it gets. My family has been coming here for years and will be coming for many more!

This is easily one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants of all time. The service is next to none, and the quality of food is the best around. This is a family owned restaurant who are very serious about the quality of both. All the food is great, and the margaritas are awesome! There's a reason they need parking attendants on busy days, some people have been coming here their whole lives.

I've been hearing about Los Arcos from a friend of mine for years, so me and my GF headed over last night to check it out. My friend kept telling me that they have a steak burrito that is better than a #12 from a certain Mexican cantina that I've loved for over a decade (rhymes with Penny's). Not only was their steak burrito not in the same universe as the the other, everything else pretty much blew too. We started with some drinks and an order of "Tex Mex" chile con queso, not good. It was more like bean soup with some melted cheese of the extremely yellow, waxy, and flavorless variety on top. Not a good start, but hey, the drinks were cold! As for the entrees, the steak in my burrito had the same taste and consistency as beef found at cheap Chinese restaurants. The green chile was OK, it had a little heat and a few pieces of pork, easily the best part of the meal. My GF got the chicken mole, which was the nightly special. You'd think as the special it would be reasonably good, wrong. It was pretty much inedible. Who knows, maybe it kicked the other chickens asses in the kitchen because it was the toughest piece of meat I've ever seen served in a restaurant. I've tasted beef jerky that was more tender. I guess they figured if they covered it with enough of the ranchero it would hide it from reality. I have no idea how Los Arcos is as popular as it is, just one of those mysteries of world I guess. With all the good Mexican food in town I seriously doubt I'll be going back anytime soon.

Very good service and food. They have great margaritas too! The staff is super friendly and the food comes out hot and fast.

Yummy! I love cheese enchiladas and chili rellenos and they make great ones! I have also had the red and green chili, the red is great the green is pretty good. Margs are really good too! The decor is fun and colorful;the service is fast and friendly. I've been here about 5 times and the only thing I would like to see different is a better combo selection in their menu. Oh, and they have a mariachi band on the weekends which can be fun for out of town guests.

  • Kai H.

I always pass this restaurant on my way home and I finally decided to try it out. The service was good. The chips were not greasy and the salsa wasn't watered down which is always a plus and a good indicator about the entrees. Food was good. Not super amazing, but worth the cost. I will be back in the future.

  • Brad K.

Not very good. Prices are excellent but you must be getting what you pay for because everything tastes like it is out of a can. Not one fresh item on either plate. I have wanted to try Los Arcos since we moved here six months ago....now I have no need to go back. One excellent item though....their salsa. Very good - too bad the chips were somewhat old and stale. Still ate almost the whole basket just to have the salsa! Skip Los Arcos.

I've been going here for years, and I always get the crispy chile rellenos. Why experiment with new things when you've already found a winner?! It's a big restaurant, so even when they're really busy, the wait is usually not long. And during lunch, the service is really fast. Good if you want to get in and out quickly.

My elderly neighbor told us she's been taking her family here weekly for years, being her favorite restaurant. She recommended the chile relleno and burritos. So we thought it should be worth a shot. Unfortunately, we were quite disappointed. Firstly, the items are way too overpriced. I couldn't find anything for under $8 a plate unless you get plain tacos or enchiladas. So I ordered a la carte, 1 chile relleno for $3.50 and 1 beef burrito w/ green chile sauce for $3.85, but to add lettuce, cheese, and tomato to that it cost another $1.50. The chile relleno did not look authentic and was the size of a Chinese egg roll. I was shocked at the price they asked for it. The burrito tasted bland, they could have at least seasoned the beef and for the price, maybe add some beans or rice or something inside, or not charge extra for the common toppings? I've made better in my own home, and I'm not hispanic. My husband ordered the Tacaso, basically a super large taco you have to eat with a fork & knife. Again, nothing special that we couldn't have made better at home. We looked around at the people dining here, and my husband's rule of thumb is, if you don't see anyone from the country the restaurant is supposed to represent dining here, it's not authentic. What we saw was a lot of white elderly people who tend to be afraid of tasting anything really authentic. I honestly felt like I was eating school cafeteria food. Upon checking out, we noticed that both people in line ahead of us did not leave a tip. We left only 15% tip since our server was quite attentive. Sorry, but we will never be back again. If people still like this place, I recommend only going during lunch when their menu is more reasonably priced. I noticed the lollipops being sold at the cashier's counter were .27 cents - really? You have to make an extra .02 cent profit from those?

Not good mexican food Im afraid....has really good margaritas though. Ive been to Arcos about 7 times not, love the margaritas and chips & salsa but the food just isnt that good...

I love this place. Food is good. Not over priced. Love the margaritas!! And it's within walking distance from our house. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Yummy Mexican food. It was one of my favorite restaurants. I loved the cheese enchilada and the service here is great. The restaurant was always busy and the parking lot was full of cars. I miss it.

This place is quite literally down the street from us and it took us over 3 years to try it! Last night we decided it would be a good time to give it a shot and I'm glad we did! It was very busy (Saturday night) but we only waited about 15 minutes. We munched on some chips and salsa (complimentary) while we waited for our food. I ordered a beef chimichanga, which was pretty good! My boyfriend ordered a beef & chicken sopapilla, which was excellent. We ordered sides of beans and rice which were nothing special, in fact, next time we'll skip out on that for sure. It's nice to have a great Mexican food spot right next to us. Overall, great atmosphere and good food. We will definitely be going here again sometime!

For any of the reviewers that compainged this place was too expensive, you're either an idiot or one cheap S.o.B. My wife and I have been here multiple times and we've never spent more than $25 for dinners, sodas, tax, and tip. If this is expensive, I suggest the buck-a-scoop Chines joints or Taco Bell. Los Arcos is decent and the prices are agreeable (dually noted now). Their salsa mexicana they serve up for free is fantastic. I've had everthing from rellenos to tacos here and it's all been very enjoyable. Just nothing too noteworthy. I wish I could give 2.5 stars but Yelp won't let you. Los Arcos is exactly on par, thus the 2.5 stars. There are many joints along Federal and in the old Berkely and Highlands neighborhoods that blow this place out of the water........Tacos Jaliscos in particular.

We only went to Los Arcos once, as my husband used to live closeby and was feeling nostalgic. We've never been back. The food was completely mediocre. I can't even think of something nice to say about it. For my money, I'd spend a little bit more and go to Tequila's, or far less and go to Chubby's!

My husband an I went here on a Friday night. The place was packed and there were plenty of large groups. There was a Mariachi band playing, loudly which didn't make for a nice quiet dinner out, not to mention there was a toddler running circles around our table the whole time. Don't get me wrong I like kids, I have kids, but people please control your children while out in public. Anyway, on to the rest... Husband had a margarita, it was decent but a bit day glow green, I had a virgin piña colada( I know lame, but I was driving) it was tasty, but they only took $1.00 off of the total. Seriously!!! It's a VIRGIN! If the rum cost $1.00 then at that rate I'm just getting shots of rum, screw the pina colada. Although $1.00 rum shots probably will end badly. I orderd beef fajitas and the husband had a combo meal. The green chili was not flavorful and rather soupy, the whole combo plate was pretty blah, and was comparative to taco bell. The beef fajitas were tender, but beef was cut oddly. It's was pretty bland and the ratio of meat to veggies was heavy on the veggies. The fajitas came with 3 tortillas, small scoop of guacamole and beans and rice. I added salsa to spice it up and we asked for Tabasco. We ate our satisfactory food and then the waiting started. Our server was talking to an 8 top next to us while we waited for a to go box and our check. And we waited and waited and waited, while staring her down, hoping that that burning sensation in the back of her skull may alert here to turn around and aknowledge us! Finally, the server returned with a to go box and our check. Then we promptly placed our credit card on the ticket and waited and waited and waited for her to come back to get our check. She never did. We finally got up and went to the front of the restaurant where we saw what we assumed was a cashier. Really, is it that hard to say thank you and the cashier will take your bill at the front?!! If I were you save your time and money and go somewhere else!

10 stars. Out of literally dozens of times we eat here every year you can count on consistently getting exactly what you ordered. Perfect. Come early, but if you do have to wait, don't worry, it's well worth it!

I've been eating here for years and it's been great all this time. Had dinner with my fiance and her family last night and it was no exception! Very good service for a party of 10. The manager checked on us multiple times. The margs are great and strong!! My only complaint is the lack of draught beers.

We have been to Los Arcos a couple two-tree times now, and while it never totally sucks, it also never totally impresses. First off, the place is pretty big, and we've had the bad luck to always show up and order right after a table of 15 has placed their order. One sunday night I ordered the special o' the day - Carne Asada. While it was not bad, I think it sat under the heat lamps a little too long, because the steak ended up being pretty well done. Still juicy, but not as juicy as it could have been. Also, every carne asada I have ever had before has been served with tortillas. No tortillas, no good. I've also had the Tacos Carbon, which were better than the asada (and served with huge slices of avocado!), but still not worthy of more than 3 stars. We will return again, I'm sure. My wife really likes the dish that she gets, but for some reason (old age, perhaps?) I can't recall the name of it right now.

Love their Los Arcos Express booth on 92nd. The breakfast burritos are da bomb! Bacon breakfast burrito with green chili inside for just over $3! Can't beat it. I also recommend their shredded beef burritos! One minor drawback sometimes the potatoes in the breakfast burritos are not fully cooked. Staff is really friendly and make it a point to acknowledge frequent customers.

Consistant! Great Margs! My mom says they use too much cheese to which I say: "Ask for less cheese". I personally can't get enough cheese.... great food, great atmosphere!

We eat at Los Arcos a few times a month. This is a family-owned business that continues to thrive, even in this depressed economy. The service is very good. Sometimes we have difficulty understanding their accents but they're very nice about it. The food is usually served so quickly, that we joke it's faster than Taco Bell drive-through down the street. The chips and salsa that are served as soon as you sit down are excellent. The salsa is just barely hotter than "mild" so my little boy even likes it. If you love a big plate of hot Mexican food, smothered with sauce and cheese, you'll love the food at Los Arcos. The prices are very good, although I think the pop is too expensive and just order water at lunch. I like the Sangria with dinner. We usually order the Small Combination or Large Combination meals. We've never had problems with parking. When they're very busy, they have parking attendants. Edited to add, after reading the other reviews: Yes, it can be bland. It fits in that big-melty-plate-of-sauce-and-cheese American Mexican food category. The kind where you need some extra chips to scoop up the last bites of goop on your plate. New Edit: My newest favorite dish is the Shrimp Rancheros. I go back and forth between the lunch or dinner Combo or the Shrimp Rancheros. Their Piccadillo (sp?) Stew is amazing, but gigantic. Plan to share it.

My office staff and I go there at least once or twice per week. It's quick, fast, and yummy. However, they have a variety of music that doesn't really go with the theme. One moment you will hear Mexican music, the next you will here pop.

It's a decent place. It isn't the best Mexican food around, but it's far from the worst I've had. I think the main problem is that instead of serving a unique taste that's authentic, they're trying too much to cater to the general public and thus the food is bland and common. I usually grade Mexican restaurants by their chile, and theirs is simply...meh. I like their crispy chili releno, egg chorizo burrito and the friday ribs special. Here's what it comes down to, if you want a good margarita with ok Mexican food and you don't want to pay more than $50 for a couple, this would be the place to go.

I believe this place claims to be family owned and "authentic" I really don't understand why this place is always so packed. This is not real mexican food. More like out of a can and microwave. The food just doesn't have much flavor at all! However... they do have good chips and salsa. The Margaritas weren't bad either. I'd go back for Margarita's, chips & salsa, but that's about it!!

We managed to make it in time for happy hour. margaritas and beers on special. The chips and salsa were pretty good. I had the steak tacos and my girlfriend had the mexican bbq ribs. The ribs were in a spicy chili sauce, kind of like a salsbury steak, but totally amazing. The steak tacos were seasoned well and were great with some lime and salsa. We finished it up by sharing a cheesecake burrito. And the whole time we were listening to a mariachi play some great tunes. Definitely a worthwile experience.

My first review was dated 12/30, but I was reviewing an experience from late summer, so here is an update! Enjoy! I was just here last week and man, the food was on point, our waiter - all fueled up on redbull, was on point, and margaritas tasted better than ever! You have my 5 stars for this meal Los Arcos!

As wonderful as the environment and the Guacamole are, each time I've gone, I've been disappointed by the entrees. There's much more flavorful, less bland Mexican food to be had elsewhere in Denver. Also, a note: Vegetarians, be wary, the wait staff isn't really aware of what Chilis and sauces have meat, so you might have to send some meals back if you're picky.

Having been to the DTC location once before, I thought to give this location a try. So hubby and I went last night and the parking lot was full. Probably a great sign indicating that the restaurant doesn't fail to deliver. Well... it failed! The margaritas were delish and the service was EXCELLENT. We ordered the ceviche as an appetizer and it came with sliced avocados and tostadas. It was really tasty and plentiful - they didn't skimp on the shrimp - AMEN! I ordered their Saturday special, pork chop with rice and beans and my husband ordered their chicken enchiladas. My chop was tough and chewy, tasty however but NOT the right way to eat a pork chop. When I cook them in the oven they sit there for 3 hours covered to tenderize them. Well Arcos just fried each side for 5 minutes to brown and served. YUCK! The chicken enchiladas weren't good at all either. The tortilla was firm and the chicken had no flavor. Lastly I ordered a sopapilla and that was good. However, how can you go wrong with a deep fried flour pastry, right? The white people who go to Los Arcos have NO idea what real Mexican food tastes like. This is NOT real Mexican food. Won't be going to Arcos for dinner again.... sorry!

I have eaten at Los Arcos only a handful of times in all of the years that I have lived in Westminster, one because it really isn't that great of Mexican food and two because the service is not always the best but after last night I will never step foot in this establishment again. My husband and I were waiting to order our food when a waitress, who was not the one serving us, came up to our table being very loud and rudely accused us of walking out on a $75 tap a few weeks earlier and that she had to pay for it out of pocket. At first I thought it was some kind of joke and wasn't sure what to say then she insisted that she had us on video tape and she would prove that it was us. Mind you I had not been to this restuarant in well over 6 months and the last time I was there I had a male server so I have never been waited on by this female. After 5 minutes of embarrassment she finally left our table with a promise to return with her manager. After waiting about 15 minutes the owner and that waitress returned to the table, the owner could not apologize enough but when she asked the waitress to apologize to us she said it in a very snotty, put out way and after she was dismissed by the owner from our table that waitress proceeded to relay the details of what happened to a group of other employees making it very evident that they were talking about us. I felt that we were singled out because of a certain way that we look and even though the owner tried to smooth things over I feel that she did not handle her employee in the proper way. I will say that there are a few servers there that are good but the unprofessionalism of this waitress has ruined it for the overall experience. So if you want a pleasant and worth while Mexican meal I would recommend going to one of the other local establishments.

For as many Mexican food resturants that Denver has, this plays is not very good. Food is edible. Service is horrible as many of the wait staff act as if the customers are an inconvience. Literally the last time we were there I couldnt understand the waiter because he spoke so fast. The food is way over priced as well.

Not the best Mexican joint I have been to...and not the worst. I really wanted the green chili sauce to have more punch. My cheese enchilada needed a bit more time in the salamander...the cheese was still shredded and not wonderfully melty and gooey.

We ordered margaritas and enchiladas. Food was excellent and the margaritas were on par. My husband and I are always looking for good "mexican" rice (NOT the spanish rice you find in the grocery store) and this place has it! We moved to Denver about 6 months ago and have been searching for a mexican restaurant that we like. We will definitely go back!

My favorite place to go when I'm craving Mexican food. It's authentic and most everything is the way my mom made it... I love the service and the Mariachi band is loud, but that's what I love. The Mole is not always on the menu, but when it is- order it! I've ordered so many different things on the menu over the years and have never been disappointed. I try to order the specials if it's something unique. The Margaritas are yum! Even when there's a wait, it's always worth it. The staff is very accommodating and super friendly.

My boyfriend is always down to try new mexican resturants, and just moving to the Arvada area, we decided to stop into Los Arcos. Our first trip there, about 3 months ago, we waited around 20 minutes to be seated, so I figured this place had to be decent. The resturant is huge, and the parking lot is always packed. We sat down, greeted, told about specials, yada yada. My boyfriend wanted "the strongest, biggest margarita you have." The waiter told us he knew exactly what we should get....of course he did, the most expensive drink of the menu. A real pineapple filled with blended margarita inside.....(that came with a $12 price tag.) What the heck, lets do it...we don't usually go out to dinner. I'm not going to lie, it was quite tasty, but I don't think he even got a buzz from it. There definitely was NOT "12 shots of tequilla" inside like the waiter said. Then it came time to order...I just wanted a bean burrito, smothered in green chili- al la carte: about $3.95. Not too bad! "do you want cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream on that?" Of course I do! Isnt that what normally comes on a resturant burrito? Cheese: $1.35 Lettuce: $1.65 Tomatoes: $1.35 My one measly bean burrito was close to $8 before all was said and done. Come on people...why do you charge that much for a few shreds of lettuce and tomatoes on my burrito! I'm better off at Taco Bell. I was very angry...but my cravings got the best of me so we went back again last week. We went on a Friday night and they had a live mariatchi band playing. It was pretty neat, great atmosphere, but you couldnt hear yourself think with that kind of noise. I just ordered a beef burrito.. no cheese, no lettuce....although she kept pushing it on me. I learned my lesson with the "extras" last time lady! Our food was out to us in less than 5 minutes which was fantastic. It was quite tasty, and I even had leftovers this time. All in all, I really like this place. It can get expensive, but if you are just looking for decent mexican food, you may want to check this place out.

I've been going to this restaurant for years now and I love it. Great atmosphere awesome waiters and overall great service. The patio is a great place to relax and enjoy great food. Glad they've been around since I was a little girl. I will continue to come when I can.

Great place to go for lunch. The lunch selection is affordable and service is extremely quick. I enjoy their salsa and for an entree their super burro with extra hot green chile is pretty good. Their breakfast burrito with chorizo is also a great standby!

Just moved into the area and after one visit I have found the staff to be enjoyable, friendly and very accommodating. I eat ameri-mex and enjoyed they los almos combination platter. The bar special is one shot of tequila and a complimentary house margarita. Gotta love the mariachi! Arriba!

I've only ordered 2, maybe 3 things here. I usually stick to the Mexican Steak which is DELISH! Most Mexican places, give you the thin little wimpy steak, a few jalapenos and call it a day. Not here my friend! We're talking a huge, delicious cut smothered in their green chile, side of beans and rice! The other, their mole and Menudo. I'll admit, last time I was a little disappointed in their menudo. "Is there tomatoe sauce in there?" I don't know. Weird. The mole, they have 2 choices, the regular chile/chocolate sauce and the other that tastes more like red chilli which is my fave! Dessert, you HAVE to try the pineapple dessert! We have yet to find the cajeta they use and they aren't spillin' the beans! The owners are always super nice and attentive! Parking, not so good. Blah blah.

Los Arcos is not located in what I would call a premier spot so I used to drive by and wonder how in the world the parking lot was ALWAYS packed. I finally took a chance and swung by for dinner with my husband one Friday night and we figured it out! This place is a great time, plain and simple. The atmosphere is fun, the staff is friendly and they have a great mariache band that plays on Friday nights. The food is great for the price (we love the mole!) and they have nightly specials that are super cheap and more food than one person can eat. And...last but not least...the margaritas are unbeatable. The best $6.00 I spend every week!

Our plans changed last minute, but we'd been wanting to try this place for quite some time. So, we called in our order, and I picked it up, brought it home. It was OK. We wanted more from this place, I think, but it was just ok. The enchiladas were kinda bland, but the shredded beef was tasty enough. The Spanish Rice, which i never really eat anyway, was pretty rank, actually, and the sopapillas were more doughy than I'm used to. Maybe it would be different if we had eaten in-house, or gone another day of the week, or ordered something else. Hard to say. Overall, it didn't completely suck.

One of the best authentic Mexican restaurant I know. My family and I go there couple times a year due to the economy. The waiters over there are so nice and they haven't disappoint us yet. i am hoping to go back there soon. they serve chips and salsa to customers every time you walk in and the salsa are always good. I don't have to order appetizer whenever i have chips and salsa. LOL! but really, check out this restaurant someday or whenever.

I absolutely loved this place!! I ordered the tamale platter, but I couldn't decide between the red or green chile sauce..so the waiter suggested I get both on the side...LOVED both of them...they first brought out veggie tamales by mistake, but they quickly brought out the correct order...I also had the chile con queso which I thought would be cheese dip..nope, it was actually strips of green chilies covered in cheese and baked...YUM!!! Smearing that on warm tortillas was delicious..service was great, too..

Enjoyed it. The price was pretty fair for a full restaurant experience. Overall it was mediocre Mexican food, but for the fact that I could get out the door under $15 with me and my girlfriend, I was rather impressed. I'd go back, but I wouldn't mind finding a place to drop some money for some serious Mexican food.

They have the second best dinner sopapillas in town! I am very picky when it comes to Mexican food and most places do not have dinner sopapillas so they score high points just for that. I have been going to this location for a number of years and the service is usually good. Only once did we have any issues. My bf is a vegetarian and he asked for a meatless sauce and there was meat in the sauce the first two times they brought out his plate! But that was because the waitress was new and didn't know there was a vegetarian option. The manager made amends though and the next time we went back everything went well. Great guacamole!

There's a reason this place is always packed - excellent, authentic Mexican food! I love their chips and homemade salsa and their guacamole is also really good. For entree, my favorite is the chimichanga. My biggest critique - while the waitstaff is always friendly, they can also be inconsistent. If you go on a weekend, expect to wait a bit to be seated.

We are new here in CO so we are still trying to find good restaurants. Last week we tried El Paraiso - awsome. Then some neighbors recommended Los Arcos. What a let down. Very bland food; I had to keep adding the table salsa to my food (but to no avail). But I liked the margarita. We probably won't be back.

At one time, most of the Mexican restaurants in Denver were owned and operated by Mexican Americans. But due to the difficult nature of running restaurants, the owners of most Mexican restaurants are now Mexican immigrants. These new immigrant owners have kept the "Denver Style" of Mexican food but their aesthetic is very different. There is something that is frozen in time about Los Arcos. It reminds me of so many Mexican restaurants that Denver had in the 1970-80's. This restaurant feels so deeply Mexican American to me. Everything from the Freddy Fender songs, the oil portraits of the owners and their children, the waitresses in Mexican Indian blouses and the knock off Jesus HIlguera paintings on the walls, all bring me back to my childhood. Los Arcos is the type of place my family would have invited visiting relatives to eat for Saturday dinner. So how does a place not change after so many years? Los Arcos survives unaltered because the owners are great restauranteurs. The place is clean, the service is efficient and the guest knows that the dining experience will remain consistent visit after visit. There may have been superficial cosmetic changes over the years but I bet very little has really changed since the late 1970's. The downside is that the recipes have not changed in thrity years. But thats okay. Most people like to eat the same thing, year after year. So in the final analysis, visit Los Arcos for the atmosphere and nostolgic potential. As for the food, well you will find the same exact food at numerous other Mexican restaurants.

I'm amazed that people like this place. What a disaster! I ordered a combination of taco, enchilada, relleno and another item. It came out smothered in sauce that made everything taste the same. I tasted old oil on the taco and didn't care for the fillings on the enchilada or the relleno. The wait staff was eager to please and replaced my dish with the Tacos Al Carbon, which they recommended. The tacos were much better than the slop I was served first, but still a sorry excuse for Tacos Al Carbon with raw flour tortillas and tough steak. Don't go anywhere near this place.

So many people rave about this place, so we checked it out.... I agree that the chips and salsa were yummy - crunchy and not too greasy but obviously freshly fried. When the entrees arrived, the food was bland and my pork was tough and flavorless. And to top it off, I got food poisoning!! I am not sure that their hygiene standards are up to par. Should have stayed home.....

We live nearby, have driven by so many times and the lot is packed all the time, so we decided to give it a try.Went by on a thursday and just barely missed happy hour, 2 for 1 margs and mojitos, but that's ok. The mojitos were very very good, had 2 and had a nice buzz going from just one, so it's not just syrup-that's a good sign. The beer however, overpriced in my opinion. This place is HUGE, there were groups of families and girls night crowd next to us, so seemed like a good place to get together for sure whether date night or a group. It was light and cheery and very clean, lots of staff on hand too. We ordered chips and salsa, I had read a few reviews, of course, so went armed with asking for the 'extra spicy salsa'...we did try the regular and it was pretty bland, mostly watery red sauce with onion and cilantro -very heavy on the onion, not an onion fan, but the extra spicy salsa is pretty amazing with fresh jalapenos and tomatoes, very good. I had the chicken enchilada and chicken taco, a la cart. The enchilada would have been enough on it's own, shredded chicken smothered in cheesey goodness and red sauce. It was very tasty, she brought out green chili on the side for me too, but it wasn't for me, I especially liked it w/the spicy salsa, would go back for the enchilada and salsa. The taco, was pretty big too, it was shredded chicken with some spice-pretty good. The bf had the smothered sopapillas,he wasn't very impressed, but I think that's because they were smothered, and so there was more of a big reddish soggy mess on his plate, will try w/o the sauce next time. We will definately be back, hopefully for happy hour next time. It was a little pricier than we expected for mexican food, but the drinks probably had something to do with it. All in all, good food, good place, absolutely great service and plenty of seating, we'll be back.

I remember reading a review of this place several years ago in one of the major Denver papers with the headline which read "There's No McMexican at Los Arcos" or something like that. I have no idea what they cooked for the person who wrote the article, but Los Arcos is about as McMexican as it gets. They do have decent chips and salsa and good service, but after eating there several times trying several different entrees, it's definitely forgettable. I guess it's a place my parents would probably like, but I think their food is pretty bland and boring. It would do in a pinch if you can't think of anywhere else to eat, but if you're seeking good Mexican food I'd go elsewhere. I mean it is a lot better than Casa Bonita, but so is dog poop.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant. The Los Arcos special and combos are so good. Try the Tex Mex Queso too. Best part, hands down the greatest margaritas in Denver. Get them frozen!

I love this place. We have been coming here longer than I remember. The service is great and super fast! The green chili is the best! I personally love all of their burritos. The fish tacos are great and the fajitas are wonderful too!

One word. Excellent! The soft tacos Los Arcos was fantastic. I recommend it to anyone testing out a Mexican food restaurant. One beef, One been, and one guacamole soft corn taco packed with lettuce, tomato and cheese and smothered with superb tasting green Chile with pork.

. Portion size was good quality of food was good but it Felt like we were being swept out the door before we got our chips and salsa! Still haven't been back and dont miss it.

I've been to many Mexican joints in my day and this one was definitely one of the worst. The ground beef tacos taste no better than Taco Bell and were undercooked. Not to mention the service was trash.

Been going to this place since I was a kid. On the BEST MEXICAN FOOD I'VE EVER HAD scale, this doesn't approach the top, but the food IS good. The service is (normally) charming and on top of things.

Little to no flavor in food, very bland no spices. Weak drinks. Good salsa if you don't like mild. Nice decor.

Food blah....just a step up from some canned mexican food....but the margaritas are on point and priced fairly. Put it this way, you'll only need one margarita to catch a strong buzz !

  • Nicolo D.

  • Chris W.
