I have been to happy hour at the Hideaway in the past, but tried dinner tonight. We ordered the ribeye. The presentation was beautiful and the sides taste great, however, our 46.00 steak was tough and had no taste. We ordered it medium rare, and it was gray in the middle. I would suggest Elways over this place for the price. It is beautiful but spend your money elsewhere.......

Used to be a go to for our happy hour with the ladies. Something has happened to the menu, the food is just ok. The service was efficient but un friendly. Even the manager seemed put out by our group. We will think twice before we schebule another ladies night at the Hideaway!

Everything was almost perfect. The happy hour drinks were great... The waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu and specials (taking his recommendation was worth it). And to top it off, I barely spoke of my girlfriends birthday. the hostess overheard and they treated us to a great dessert at the end. Very surprised. Not my first time here, and every time it gets better. Nice not having to drive downtown to one of the bigger steak places for a great experience.
Went there last night for date night. Steak, crab and shrimp cocktail were wonderful. Service was great, waiter had perfect drink recommendations for our food selection. Manager was genuine and we had a nice conversation. Live music in the bar was good.

This restaurant delivers 5* service! From the moment we walked in the door it was an exceptional experience. Steve the owner should be very proud of his staff. Chris our server was excellent and very knowledgeable about the menu and offered up an exceptional wine recommendation. My fiance Matt had the prime rib with potatoes au gratin and baby carrots. I have the servers recommendation of the Buffalo Steak medium rare and parmesan asparagus was incredible. It was my birthday and the owner Steve came by with a beautiful creme brulee with a candle! SO SWEET! Thanks Hideaway for a great birthday! Everything was just perfect. We would absolutely recommend this restaurant and we will return.
Thrilled to try their crab stuffed salmon with a lemon caper sauce. It was a dry rendition that begged for more. Presentation was pretty. Service was sub par. This meal came with 4 courses. I would not recommend.

2 STAR FOOD and 5 STAR SERVICE. Priced in the Capital Grill Range But Not The Quality! 4 Adults Bill Was $336.35 Tax $20.54 Tip $70.00 (EXCELLENT SERVICE) Total Bill $426.89 The server was one of the best we have encountered. The presentation of the food was awesome. The food itself was VERY sub par for the price. Ordered steaks medium rare, came medium to medium well, manager thought other wise but agreed to redo it, came back medium (not pink at all - slightly red) oooh well! Forgot to put topping on my wife's steak, they took it back and must have microwaved it as it was a bit over done now and a bit tougher. Veggies and sides were not as impressive at all. Crème Brule was average at best. We had just been to another steak house in Westminster the week before and maybe they spoiled us. The environment EXCELLENT The Wait Staff AWESOME The Actual Presentation of The Meal Was Impressive The Chef should be working at Outback not an expensive restaurant like this. (actually I have had better steaks at the Outback) Price would have been ok if it was Sullivan's, Chop House, Capital Grill, Elway's or even The Old Neighborhood Qaulity. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

I give Hideaway Steakhouse five stars because it truly is the ultimate steakhouse. The ambiance is elegant but cozy. They have round booths throughout that take you back to the beautiful steakhouses of the past. We sat by one of their several fireplaces, which gave us a cozy, comfortable feel to the entire experience. Their food was outstanding! I had their scallops, and might I say, I am particular with my scallops. They gave me five delicious scallops with basmati rice and veggies. Some of the best I have had in a long time! My husband had their New York strip and it was cooked to perfection. I kept stealing bites, it was so yummy! Everything that our group had was very good. They offer great specials everyday! Their bar is great fun! They have a live band on the weekends and we truly enjoyed listening a giving our requests. They will be opening up their patio soon and we are looking forward to visiting again and enjoying the entire experience outside. This was a great find. You would never know by looking at the outside that it is so beautiful on the inside. You have to try the Hideaway Steakhouse!
Prime rib and lobster dinner I've had better meals at McDonald's lobster came out smelling so rank I'm surprised my friend made it thru the evening. The prime rib was chillier than the average piece of beef jerky like leather rawhide!! For spending over $100 on the plate you expect excellence far from it here, if you want to spend that kind of money on a meal you are better off going to Ocean Prime

This time I ate in the dining room... Fantastic! Wish I could remember the name of the guy who served us. (The back to back to back prego brain has robbed me of intelligence.) The kids and I started off with a burger for V, Mac & cheese for M and a French onion soup for me. Wow! V'a burger was huge! Even for being a kids!. It was also delicious. He ate the whole thing. The mc & cheese M picked through but I thought was great. But the soup... Omg. Get the French onion. Guinness in it? Up ok! I also got the shrimp scampi for dinner. It was good but I think something else would have been better. Oh and the rock salt they put on the butter... Yum. Only way that could have been more awesome is if it was out on bacon ;) Update: his name was Stephen! Get him. Just do it.

We were there for Mother's Day Brunch yesterday and had a little sticker shock. Drinks were not included in the price and although the food was good it was not a $30 omelette. $110 for two after tip. That is some expensive eggs and bread!!! We love Hideaway but will have our brunch at Village Tavern instead for a third of the cost and coffee and mimosa included.

More expensive than Del Frisco's with a sleazy feel... Definitely would NOT go back!! The food was good, but over priced - a Del Frisco's, Sullivans, etc. wanna be. The service was rushed, with the salads coming out before we were done with the appetizers and the entrees coming out before we were done with the salads. What really left us with a sleazy feeling is the bill. a little more than $100 per person. There were two salads and some other items on our bill that we did not order. I brought it to the GM's attention. He apologized and told me the owner was personally looking into it. The waiter (Jason) came back a few minutes later and apologized... it felt more like he was "busted". No compensation at all. Just a "I hope you give us another try" from Kevin the GM. I would have at least expected a free round of drinks... but if the owner and the GM looked at it and did nothing, I suspect it is a normal practice, hoping that folks just don't notice. Not a good feel for a restaurant trying to compete with 4 and 5 star restaurants. When the GM came by as we were paying the bill, I expressed our displeasure, letting him know that we would not return, that there were too many other options, he still did nothing. Again making us feel that this was normal operating procedure for them.

Update -- So, Hideaway Steakhouse....I am trying to love you, but as someone who has a possibly critical eye for detail, service and appreciates any flashes of love in the food...well, I am struggling. Your service staff is truly running their own show and it is distracting, annoying and just in your face, "we will get to you when we are done talking about our plans for the rest of the weekend or what we did last night or where in the hell is my bus boy." I was really looking forward to bringing my husband along after I was there a little over a month ago, and we went. At 4:34 - 4 minutes after opening on a not so busy, rainy night. We sat in the lounge and watched four, five and six service staff shoot the breeze at the well. Waited at least 5 minutes and after giving the evil eye a bit, someone came over. Bar tender I think. "What can I get ya?" "Hi, a wine list would be great please." "by the glass or bottle?" "Both if that is ok?" Flipped open the book that was already on the table saying here is the wine by the glass for you. Nope that was dessert, I had already checked. Just the little things, I know. But good god. So the two wine lists come - great. I am tired of writing honestly, the basic review for today was two different servers, a swarm of servers loud talking in a large group, and very little care given. You are sooo damn close to our house, we like to eat out, we love to tip well, but I have to say, there are better fast casual service standards out there. Step it up folks. Sad.
I changed my rating to 5 stars from 4. We ate there last Friday night, had reservations and was seated immediately. We started with the escargot, Cesar salad, and French onion soup. All were very good, thou I have had better soup. Entree included prime rib, NY steaks, and tornadoes. All were cooked properly and were very tasty. I recommend them for special occasions and romantic dinner.
We've been there twice now. Both times the food was perfect and service very professional. Very nice bar area too. A little pricy but not considering comparable quality in the Denver area. We will be back.
DONT BOOK A LARGE PARTY AT THIS PLACE!! My parents and I live in California, we went to Colorado on July 20th to visit my brother who's getting married and was looking for a place for his rehearsal dinner. After eating at Hideaway, we were impressed with the food and atmosphere, so, we decided to book his rehearsal dinner for October 17, three months later. After speaking to the manager that night, he said he'd email us menus, prices, specifics, etc. We left Colorado feeling confident we made a great decision and felt relieved that we now had one less thing to worry about for the wedding. The manager, Chris, did as he said, he emailed us several times with menus, prices, specifics, etc. he was prompt with answering all of our questions. This is where everything goes strangely wrong...now, after a month of emails back and forth, Chris decides to tell us, "I'm sorry, I just checked the books (yes, a month later) and the restaurant has already been booked for the date/time we had booked you for" WHAT?! Keep in mind, this restaurant has a MINIMUM of $2500 due for each party, which we had already agreed to and had already authorized payment for $1,000 as a deposit. Needless to say, we are now once again in a bind for a place for my brothers rehearsal dinner, and Chris, who said he would help us out in any way possible bc of this HUGE mistake, has yet to be heard from again, as he is conveniently not answering our emails, and is all of a sudden not available when we call...such a disappointment! For a supposedly 5 star restaurant, this place gets a negative star for customer service!
Just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary. New items on the menu. White Cheddar Augratin are 100%dead on fabulous, mushrooms sauteed nicely. The free range chicken was tasty. New manager on board, seems competent. Steak was good, but not like it was 2 years ago. Mini mousse chocolate cups are a nice change.

Extremely disappointed in our overall experience. Service was ok, at best, and the prices are not commensurate with the food - they charge Capital Grille prices for most dishes without Capital Grille quality. Steaks are not prime and maybe not even choice. My husbands steak was over cooked (he ordered it medium and there was zero pink) asked to have it taken back and the next one came out the same way. Really??! The side dishes are family style, however, very small. Again, the main issue we encountered was the lack of stellar service (which one would expect based on it being a higher end steakhouse) and the prices charged for the steak and side dishes. If I'm spending $200 it should be a fabulous experience. Certainly will not go back. Very over priced.

So my husband took me here last Saturday to celebrate my birthday, and it was not only bad from the get go but I literally almost died from eating here. I have a horrible mushroom allergy, as explained to the waiter. He assured me nothing was coming to our table which would contain mushrooms. Well a sauce with a mushroom base came out and I literally had to bolt to the restroom to force myself to throw it up. It is now Tuesday and I still have a rash, and my doctor still has me on meds. What did the manager say you might ask, nothing really. The waiter brought out the check while I was in the restroom (knowing full well he brought the mushroom sauce at this point) and I said there's no way in hell were paying for this, which the manager complied with. And that was it. So thank you Hideaway. Thank you for almost killing me, and thank you for ruining my birthday.

We went to hideaway for a late Valentine's dinner 2/16/14. Our server was amazing! We never felt rushed and Stephen did a great job of giving us great suggestions on food, wine and pairings. You could tell talking with him he had a passion for his job and he really made our experience great. The food was also fantastic! I got the short rib and it was flavorful and tasty and my husband got a special. It was the Wagyu beef NY Strip. The strip was delicious, one of the most flavorful dishes we have ever eaten. This is the second time we have been to the Hideaway and we will definitely be back!

Stopped in for a quick drink on a Friday evening because we still had a babysitter booked for another 45 minutes. Beautiful restaurant, sort of an upscale modern decor. Service in the bar was great. My husband had a beer and I had a "Hummingbird" a tasty and light prosecco based cocktail. Beautiful bathrooms which for some reason always make a place feel more special. We've had dinner in the dining room on other occasions, but will be more likely to stop in for a quick drink and appetizer at the bar when we have an hour or less to spare.

Well you got my money once. Never again! When I walked in I felt transported to 1960's Palm Springs. Yuk! I have never had a more flavorless filet. You could only get sauces on the side as this kitchen does not cook with any. The red wine peppercorn was all red wine. Terrible! May as well use A-1. The garlic whipped potatoes tasted like they were made from corn meal in the late 1800's! Ridiculously, ridiculously way over priced.
My wife and I are visiting in the Denver area. My wife spent her first years in the Westminster Area and when she was here this area was still pasture land. The name is appropriate it is a hideaway but well worth seeking. I apologize for not knowing names but here goes. We found this place on Yelp and decided to seek it out. The restaurant is located across from open space and near an upscale neighborhood that would put many in So Cal to shame and that is probably easy to do. We were warmly greeted by the owners wife and asked if we were return diners. When we said we weren't we were welcomed and shown immediately to our table. The waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the drink selections. She even was helpful in the types of local craft beer. After taking our drink order and showing us the specials the owner came to our table and offered a specially prepared appetizer for new patrons made with cucumber, salmon and greens which was very tasty and cleansed the palate for the beer suggested and ordered. It was so good we went out and searched for it the next day. the beer was Avalanche Ale Breckenridge Brewery. My wife had the Prime Rib was perfectly cooked and frankly I am not sure how any more fat could have been trimmed off of it but Prime Rib is suppose to has some fat on it. I had a New York that was Dry Aged 20 days and was so tender and tasty that it almost felt like a sin to try their house crafted sauces. The sauce I chose was a light chili and when I did use it on the steak it was good. We both had the garlic mash potatoes. These potatoes were done perfectly with not too much garlic which usually happens. Not to be forgotten was the French onion soup. This was clearly home made that day and very good. It is a must have. We want to thank the Owner, chef and especially our waitress. It is hard to believe she is a new transplant from the south. You have made our trip to the area very special and when we come back we will pay your restaurant another visit.

Spectacular happy hour. Good old fashioned lounge with great drinks at an unbeatable $5 or less happy hour price. Woodford Reserve manhattan with Woodford's own cherry bitters is my fav. Ask for it as an Old Fashioned for a particularly Rat-Packy experience. If we're going new and innovative, the jalapeño margarita is awesome. The mussels and brochettes are necessities every time we visit. They add or subtract one or two items from both the happy hour drink and food menu every month so some fresh items appear. Just had the new pesto and pine nut portabello, excellent and already looking forward to it again. We have only been here for happy hours, and will continue to do so. We're not fine dining folk, but we are fine drinking people, and this place hits the spot.

We tried it out for a date night. We saw online that there was live music so we went to try it out. The man who was accompening prerecorded music was fun and took requests. The ambiance is great and the food was ok, but too high of price for the quality and service. The server/bartender didn't seem to know much about wine but I did end up with a good red. Mixed drinks were laking in variety and freshness (it was winter). I would try it again for happy hour. Also, if there is live music there should be space to dance.

Awesome Happy Hour! This was our first visit. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks and three $5 Appetizers. My favorite appetizer was the Ground Sirloin & Camembert Sliders - w/dill pickles. They were fantastically juicy on buttered buns. The Tenderloin Brochettes were wonderfully marinated served on skewers with grilled veges with a small salad. My least favorite was the Pizzeta w/ Basil pesto - fresh Mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, Italian sausage & roasted garlic -- but who the hell orders pizza at a steak house? As for the drinks, $3 well and draft beer, $4 house wine by the glass and $5 specialty drinks, the prices are right. The well is mid-ranged liquors, so $3 is a great deal. The specialty drinks are made with top-shelf liquors. Needless to say, we will be back.

Very nice laid-back atmosphere, A great place for special occasions. Some of the best service I've ever had.
Best Steakhouse I have been to. It is pricey but worth the money. I would recommend that people make reservation. Since the restaurant is more on the upper class feel, I would not recommend bringing small kids.

Don't go! They can't make the classic manhattan. We asked to have the surf & turf split along with two sides-they refused. We received our appetizer, oyster rockefeller....for dessert. The potatoes gratin were not fully cooked. The potatoes were crunchy in an undercooked way. Daughter ordered a shirley temple refill, it never showed up. They never cleared our appetizer dishes. The restaurant has a great atmosphere but crashes and burns.

Host was great! Bartender was rude. The music was lovely! Sat down for a steak dinner, our waiter was not attentive to detail at all. In 90 min we were only got to order 2 drinks. We ordered a 54 dollar rib eye that was the saddest piece of meat I have ever seen. It was about 2 cm deep, over cooked and we had to spit out every other piece. Luckly we said something and they took it off. This meat and presentation was unacceptable when you are spending 54 dollars for a ribeye... it was so bad I just can not believe it! The either need a new chef ( I can not believe he even sent it out ), or a new waiter or both!!! Good Luck
I really wish I could give this place a higher review. I've been here twice and both times the food has been pretty fantastic for a restaurant out in the 'burbs, but the service leaves something to be desired. During my most recent visit, the servers didn't even take our drink orders and hardly ever filled our glasses. When they did, it was usually wrong. It took over an hour for our food to be served. By that time, some of it was warm and soggy. Several of those orders were also mixed up. My burger was missing some ingredients listed, so when I waived down one of our servers, he gave me a look of confusion as to why I would be trying to get his attention. Our pre-ordered desserts took 15 mins to come out AFTER the server told us they were ready. Again, the food is great, but the service is very sad. It's really unfortunately because it deters me from going again or recommending this place to others.

Heard about this place from a friend. This was my first time eating here. Being New Years Eve we expected it to be busy and it was kind of busy. A large party at bar made it look busier than it was. From the outside it looks like a 5 star restaurant very well kept. The inside also looks very nice and service also very good. But I was kind of disappointed on the quality of some of the food (mac n cheese came out cold, steak lacking flavor). We did have great service and the atmosphere was great. I have to go back to the quality of the food. What I mean is it just didn't have the same attention to detail as everything else. I would go back and eat there again if I'm in the neighborhood. I do want to mention that they have an incredible bacon and sage butter that saved the flavor of my steak. Over all we had a really good time. If your in the neighborhood I do recommend trying them out.

We come here for happy hour, great menu and drinks. Nice ambience in the bar. Friendly staff and right in my neighborhood. Have heard mixed reviews on the food in the restaurant side, but for happy hour, you can't beat it. They have a really nice patio for good weather too.
A nice high end steakhouse in the northern suburbs. Lunches are reasonablely priced and darn good. Dinners are pricy, but well worth the price if you want a good piece of meat done right. The decor is very well done and surprising if you are like me and had been in the building back when it was a dayglow mexican resturant.

I love this Place...what a neighborhood gem! My favorite thing here is the Kobe beef short ribs, I do wish they were on the menu year round! It is really important to support delicious non-corporate family owned restaurants in the community and this is one of them! Gorgeous atmosphere as well!

Fantastic customer service, great atmosphere, delicious wine and a melt-in-your-mouth cut of all natural steak? Hell yeah!!! My girlfriend and I wanted a nice place to celebrate our second anniversary. We decided on The Hideaway Steakhouse. It was an excellent choice! The friendly hostess greeted us at the door as we walked in and even though we arrived about 15 minutes early, we were seated promptly. Our server (Tim) was very attentive and lively! I appreciated his patience while we mulled over the menu. He does have a very rapid way of speaking and moving but he still took his time at our table and never rushed us. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us select a good bottle of wine after hearing our preferences. Our meal came with complimentary bread and butter. The bread was soft, crusty and homemade. It had a slight sourdough taste to it (though it was not sourdough). Very light and pleasant. The roasted portabella mushroom appetizer was absolutely wonderful!! The steak (we both ordered filet minion) was incredibly tender and cooked perfectly! I tried a bite of my girlfriend's cheddar croquette potatoes (I am definitely going to order them next time)! I did not try her steamed asparagus (I'm not a huge asparagus fan) but she seemed to enjoy it. The sauteed mixed baby vegetables I ordered were perfect and lightly seasoned with butter and herbs. They were warm and soft but still had a slight crunch to them (definitely not over or under cooked). The wild rice pilaf balanced my meal nicely. Since we were celebrating an anniversary, (who I believe to be) the FOH manager served our dessert with a candle in it (a cute touch). We chose the dark chocolate pate and found it was the perfect end to our meal. The house coffee was surprisingly good! Some say the Hideaway Steakhouse is overpriced but we think it is priced fairly for the quality of food and service. In summary, we sat for a good two hours, felt very welcome and never once felt rushed. I thought the atmosphere was a combination of warm and trendy. It is a wonderful place to go for a special occasion or if you just want to treat yourself to a quality meal. If you go: Request Tim!

I have heard about this place for years but never been! My friend just got a new job and we wanted to celebrate. Living in the Thornton area to be honest the choices are limited on good places to eat. I had a great glass of wine at a reasonable price, my wedge salad was as good as Elways, and my steak was great. Really liked the ambiance, wait staff was fantastic. Wonderful experience all around.

This place is a Gem! We have been there for The Awesome Happy Hour as well as dinner! It is worth the price. Steaks were tasty as well as the serene ambiance! They have a pianist on Fridays... Fun! Would recommend for special occasions, romantic date for dinner.
I was in here last summer with a friend and we loved it! It's not really in my price range to go often so we were excited to see them on the Restaurant Week list. We had reservations at 8pm this last Saturday. Our party didn't get sat until 8:30pm. They didn't offer us anything for the wait which was a first time for me. Most restaurants go out of their way to make sure you're happy when they can't accommodate your reservation time. I got the prime rib and my steak was extremely fatty. The wedge salad was very good and the peach cobbler was delicious. Some good, some bad I guess. I'll probably try happy hour sometime but won't come in for dinner. Their regular prices are definitely way too high for what you get.

What a nice surprise to find a quality, high end restaurant in the northern burbs. Elegant ambiance, impeccable service (thank you, Chris) and excellent food. I ordered the Cioppino, which is one of my favorite dishes, and I was not disappointed. It was an excellent presentation with fresh fish in a nice spicy sauce. We enjoyed a wonderful seasonal dessert of pumpkin creme brule. I am not a meat eater so I cannot comment personally on the steaks but my husband raved about his tournedos. We will definitely return.

Atmosphere is nice. Friendly attentive staff. The happy hour deal is the cocktails. Very well made with premium ingredients-nice. As far as happy hour food you get what you pay for. Tenderloin pieces were ok at best-Seemed like Choice Cut with minimal flavor. The fries were good. The Hamburger was mediocre. I asked for med rare and got rare. One of the buns was soggy from plating the burger with the spinach. The other bun was not toasted and the burger had again minimal flavor. For $12 bucks I expect a very good burger and this was not a very good burger. The wine flight was ok as one of the wines was showing character of being open to long. I mentioned to the bartender but she did not offer to open a fresh bottle. I would go back for a cocktail.

My wife took me to Hideaway last night for my birthday dinner and it was one of the best culinary experiences we've had--ever. This is my first review on Yelp, so I don't do this very often, but the crab cakes (out of this world!), the cold water lobster, Chilean salmon and absolutely world-class customer service by our server Stephen prompted me to let others know about this gem--would give 10 stars if I could!

Average, average, average. Oh, and overpriced. This is the third time we have been here, and it's not getting any better. Drinks and service in the bar were fine. They make a great martini, and the server was friendly, and prompt. After a drink we were seated and the server we had was distant and a little condescending. It was early, and when we asked our server to have my wife's crab legs cracked, he said he would see to it. He was not around when the busboys delivered them, they weren't cracked, they were split on two plates. Guess that is what the kitchen thought split meant. My buffalo rib eye was cooked correctly, but cool on the outside. Disappointed all around. Our server didn't come around again, or I would have spoken to him about this, I think that he knew he had a couple of unhappy campers and just avoided us. We finished, and he stopped by with the bill and a card with his name on it, "so we could ask for him" in the future. Not likely. I travel, and I eat in great steakhouses everywhere in the country. This is a real pedestrian restaurant, yet its prices are equal to the higher end places. Don't think we will be coming back here again.

My dining companions gave this a thumbs up and a comparison to Mortens. I got the "Yays!" throughout the meal for finding this place. Too bad for Texas roadhouse and their one and a half hour wait. We had Nicholas as our server and he was charming, efficient, knowledgeable and all those things you hope for. Our filets were cooked to order and the sauces we selected as well as the one he surprised us with were beyond good. Wine selection was good. Bread (Vienna?) was warm and fresh and just what was needed while waiting for our entree. We will be recommending this location to friends that ask for a delicious steak dinner. Our compliments to the chef(s). What a way to make a regular evening something extraordinary. What I would have wished for -something more typical and something a little off the wall on the dessert menu. But hey, that's getting picky. ;-) Atmosphere was so cush and inviting. Live entertainment was good. I like the bar area as much as the dining area.

I am somewhat conflicted about this place. I came here for happy hour yesterday because I heard great things about it. I personally didn't have a fantastic experience here. There were things I loved about Hideaway and things that were not so good. What I loved-This restaurant is in a good location and is easy to get to. It is nicely decorated with dimmed lighting. The bar is large with plenty plenty of seating. There are two patios that are open in nice weather with a fire pit. You can get the lounge menu and happy hour on the patios or in the lounge. The happy hour seems to be a major attraction to this place and it is probably because the drink specials are really good, not just for an upscale restaurant such as Hideaway but they are good for any chain restaurant HH. The HH menu has really good food for $5 per dish. We had the Mussels Provencal, Tenderloin Brochettes, and Ground Sirloin & Camembert Sliders . The mussels were steamed in a light but flavorful lemon sauce with a baguette for dipping. The brochettes were the best thing I had. The tenderloin is good quality meat for sure. They were cooked perfectly, medium rare, and seasoned well. You get two skewers served on a small bed of spring mix salad tossed in a tasty dressing. The sliders are simple with just a small piece of Camembert on a buttered roll. They are served with sweet pickles slices and pickled onions. The service was excellent and our bartender was especially friendly and helpful. My martini was perfect. What I didn't like-Some of the mussels I ate were very fishy tasting leading me to assume they were not fresh. The sliders were kind of bland and overdone. We ended up not finishing them because they were just not good. In summary, I will be back to give it another try because it is close to my house;it is a nice place to have a cocktail with a good croud;the menu looks great and I want to try some of the other items on the menu. The tenderloin brochettes alone are worth making a trip.
The food was good, but, as a lot of other people said, a bit pricey. My filet was cooked perfectly and I really liked the side of potatoes au gratin, although the mac and manchego was probably the best side of the table. The truffle butter was served on the side, which was a bit strange. I expected it to be on top of the filet and melted by the time it got to me, and it was fairly tasteless. I also ordered bleu cheese, which was also served on the side. I was hoping to have it served on top and broiled (nothing better than slightly melty and crusty bleu cheese on a filet). I wish now that I had asked or specified how I wanted it served. Overall, the sauces let the rest of the meal down. I settled on three stars because I probably won't go back, even though the food was mostly good. There are better steakhouses at that price and when I pay that kind of money, I'm really hoping for something really inventive and executed perfectly.

First time and brought out of town guests. From bar to the table, our experience couldn't have been better. Ambiance, food, wait staff all created a flawless, exceptional dining experience. We will be back!

Overpriced and underperforming sums it up for me. A medium rare/rare 18oz t-bone should not be a thin tough piece of meat. And at that price. Maybe it was my turn for the crap cut but that's what they served me and how I rate them. If this was not a business dinner my first reaction would have been "WTF". This is cattle country and this is a steakhouse, right? Maybe the scallops were the thing to order but being from New England I look for the ocean and only see prairie. You want better ratings on a quiet Monday night then watch what you serve.

This place doesn't rate a star.... food ok but the staff is so rude if your going to pay the price then go down town. Why pay for bad wait staff .. When your already paying for high dollar food. Better choice down town.... (Outback work just as well with better wait staff)

So I really wanted to like this place since northern suburbia is seriously lacking more upscale restaurants. I think the restaurant is nicely decorated and I loved the jazz playing overhead. Menu looked delicious but expensive. Our waiter was a little smarmy but nice enough. Neither of us were drinking that night so I ordered an ice tea and my boyfriend had water. We shared a Caprese salad that was split in two for us. It had two small pieces of basil and two pieces of mozzarella with a lot of tomato and some salad on the side. Hard to screw up Caprese salad so I can't complain much except to say there was not a lot of basil or cheese. I had to ask for sugar for my tea as there was none offered or any on the table. Our waiter came over about 5 times to see if we were ready to order. I realized this was because it was a Monday and we came in at 7:50 and they close at 9. We ordered the salad and then took a few minutes to decide on the entrees. Once we decided on the entrees and he took our salad plates away he told us he could bring us bread if we wanted. Well yeah, why was that not brought out with our drinks? Anyway, small issue I guess. The bread was a great crusty bread that came with a nice whipped butter. The lemon I discarded from my tea and my sugar packet trash were left near the end of the table so he could pick them up. He never did. He also never refilled our water or my iced tea the ENTIRE dinner. That is disappointing. I find it sad that we seem to get worse service when we decide not to drink. I realize alcohol significantly pads the bill and your tip but I deserve good service too even if I don't order a glass of wine or a martini. I tip well if you serve well. We ordered steaks. I got a 10oz NY Strip with peppercorn sauce and boyfriend got the 18 oz cowboy Ribeye with cabernet sauce. Mine was medium and his was ordered Mid Rare. We ordered a la carte sides of whipped potatoes, mac and manchengo and snow peas with shallots. Mac and manchengo was pretty good. Snow peas and shallots were good but very oily for some reason, not sure why. The whipped potatoes were atrocious. Usually this is one of the best things on a steakhouse sides menu. These were dense, heavy and grainy. We are kind of freaks about mashed potatoes and I swear these were the worst ever. Also, barely warm. I guess a $4 side isn't going to get you far at this place. My boyfriend commented he would rather eat a tub of Bob Evan's mashed potatoes from the grocery store. The steaks were...disappointing. The temps were pretty close but it didn't matter. The cuts didn't seem great and for steaks that are supposed to be aged 35 days the flavor was not great nor were they melt in your mouth tender. My NY strip was barely an inch thick and pretty anemic looking and tasting. Boyfriend's was a bit better but at $48 I think I would expect more. My NY strip was $33 for a 10 oz. Perhaps my experiences of truly delicious and mouth watering steaks at other places (Like Elway's) has made me a snob, but this meat did nothing to make me want to come back or even finish my steak. Also, one thing I noticed, which seems to be the hallmark of a restaurant whose food can't speak for itself, is that every plate had some stupid squiggly line of balsamic vinegar and some splotch of unidentifiable red puree (tomato?) on it. Really? What is that? Did you just get out of culinary school? So pointless. The manager came over at one point to ask about our meal. We just said it was fine because there was too much wrong to start complaining. Around 9pm we started hearing employees leave and say goodbye to each other. We were the last ones there. I was done eating and wanted more tea while boyfriend finished, but I just wanted to leave more at this point. Waiter came back and finally took my plate away after doing about 5 other trips past me. About 9:15 we were totally done and I asked if there was a dessert menu. I didn't want any but I was curious what they had. He told me that the kitchen was closed and we couldn't order dessert. I asked to see the menu anyway just out of curiousity. He gave it to me and was nice enough but you could tell he wanted to leave for the evening. I was pretty surprised he wouldn't alert us that we couldn't order so much as a cheesecake if we wanted, even to go! Pretty sure the kitchen isn't involved in cheesecake. I waited tables for 5 years and the service was lacking. We paid our $115 bill and left. No one was in the lobby to say goodnight which at that point I was happy about. I am sad the food and service here were not up to par. I would be a regular patron if it had been. It is so close to my house.

This place is as good if not better than any steakhouse in Denver, The food was as perfect as perfect gets and the service was as well. A bit pricey but just as good if not better than the top of the line steakhouses in Denver.

This is a great restaurant. The server named Destiny was a great server. I would think a restaurant of this caliber would be much busier. Maybe more advertising would do the trick. The steaks were done as ordered and the service was top notch with drinks refilled and the server was always friendly and very attentive. Please try this establishment if you want quality food and great service

Had a work dinner here and it was quite nice. I had a bone in ribeye that was done perfectly rare and the ambience was such that I could easily discuss business with by work mate. all in all a solid high end steak house experience with quality service throughout. good eating Steve

Three of us tried Hideaway for the first time on Monday evening. I had no idea this restaurant even existed until a couple days ago! I think they need to do some advertising! The restaurant looks quite nice and it has an appearance, at least on the inside, of an upscale restaurant. The dress of the customers ranged from suit and tie to jeans and t-shirts. I would suggest you should dress up at least a little bit of you visit this place. Our server was pleasant and helpful. He checked in with us enough throughout the dinner to make sure we were always topped off on our drinks, but not too much where it becomes annoying! For the three of us the bill was a total of $215 for which we got: - 3 Ten oz Fillet Mignons - 2 sides of sauteed mushrooms - 1 side of whipped potatoes - 1 side of Truffle potato frites - 1 side salad and 2 Heirloom Tomato Capreses - 3 Stella Artois and 1 Coke - 2 desserts - 1 coffee and 1 cappuccino It was well worth the price! We never felt rushed and had a nice, relaxed dinner. We were there for approximately 2 hours. You can choose from about 6 different sauces to have with your steak order. For my fillet I chose, and highly recommend, the Brandy Peppercorn sauce. Very enjoyable! The only downside of our dinner experience was the three fillets were ordered with two medium rare and one medium well. I swear all three were cooked medium. Even so my steak was tender and juicy. I just prefer it to be a little more bloody. It is nice that such a good quality steakhouse is in my neighborhood and the food and service was better than some of the popular steakhouses in downtown! I am a fan!

Not my first choice to eat at for a steakhouse but in Westminster there are not a lot of options. I have dined at lunch and Dinner and both experiences were nice. I think the Lunch menu is a bit expensive we spent almost $75 for 2 at lunch for ribs and a steak. The dinner was very nice we had steak crab legs and a few sides. I didn't care for the dessert and they brought me something else right away and were very gracious about it. The server was also great. If I want steak and want to stay close to home I will come to Hideaway steakhouse. I would just say the steak needs to be a little more flavorful/juicy.

I want to preface my review with the statement that my last visit here was over a year ago. Things may have changed, and this review is based on my experience back then. I'm not an expert in fine dining, but I personally have tasted better tasting food and larger portions for much, much cheaper. I went there with my family and we all ordered something different, so I was able to taste a variety of dishes. Nothing really stood out. Also, with only a few families at the restaurant, I was a bit disappointed with the relatively low attentiveness of our waiter.

They have a great Happy Hour with good options and prices. We really like going here.

Great Happy Hour! Cozy feel and personable staff. We'll be back soon to try the regular menu, but the bar fare was a seriously insane value. $5 apps, $4 house wine, $3 wells and draft. We ate and drank like kings for around $50. Really upscale feel. I would highly recommend this place!

I want to like them so much more than I do. They gutted and rebuilt the building with such eagerness, and the deck is so pretty, and the food sounds so good, and the waiters are so friendly. But, for the price, the food, while totally adequate, doesn't blows your mind. And the service, while so likable, is somehow not all with it. It's hard to describe. You just don't feel you get the product you were promised--when you saw the prices on the menu. A lot of people like them and I hope they make it, but I think I only feel this way because they are practically next door.

Modern rustic decor. Upscale. Live music occasionally. Real towels in the bathrooms! Both classy & economically green. The Ahi tuna was cooked perfectly. The sliders were "stomp" and filled my man's appetite. Great for a romantic date or a happy hour with friends. Worth the trip & the tab. Must check out list.

Worst experience ever! If I could give it zero stars I would... Seriously go spend your money at Elways, considering the high menu prices, and the gas money you will end up spending less for much better food. I have given this place a few tries by now and every month they have a new staff, general manager, etc... They need to realize that people don't only go out for the food, they also go out for an experience which they epicly fail at. I normally wouldn't recommend going to a chain, but II seriously think the owner needs to get a clue. In short... DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY THERE!!!!!!

I went to Hideaway Steak House about a yr ago was NOT impressed and had not gone back since. Well they were having a 5 course wine dinner at a very reasonable price don't really want to share the price because people will be booking for the next one. Went early to see how the happy hour was and it goes from 3-6:30 the bar was packed and drinks in each hand. The prices are affordable they have house wines (Chateau St. Michelle white and red) for $5 and $2 off other wines. Specialty cocktails for $5 and wells for $4. Onto the wine dinner 5 courses of deliciousness, who knew a slice of cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto could be heaven. The 2 meat dishes one pork and the other beef packed a velvety punch to the taste buds. The chocolate pate w/ a raspberry drizzle sure lusciousness! I would go back for happy hour and try some of their other menu items.

Alright so we went there for Mother's day brunch and I would NOT go for brunch again. Even the waiter told us that they are not a brunch restaurant so I fail to see why they did brunch - we waited quite a while for our food but that being said the food was really pretty good. The steaks were wonderful and the French onion soup was amazing. Our waiter was very kind and apologized quite a few times and asked us to try them for dinner which we will. Our drinks were rather expensive but pretty good. The place is reasonable for brunch but for dinner it does seem like it's on the higher side but it's nice to see a nicer restaurant up in that area. The decor is really nice warm and comfortable. We'll try it for dinner but mainly because of our waiter he was wonderful

I have been to the Hideaway several times this last year and love it. The appearance of the restaurant is great- especially if you knew what it looked like before! We usually have the same waiter, and have always had great service- sometimes, it can be a little slow, but enjoy the company that you are with! The steak is great- have never had a bad one. For those complaining about buying a side dish, go to any other high end steakhouse and you will find the same thing. If you want all inclusive, then yes the Outback, Salt Grass or some other steak place might be what you are after. Another perk- free parking. This may not seem like a big deal, but really I have wasted a lot of money parking in Denver to eat at higher end steak places. This is close to home, no traffic to contend with, and nice!! The owner has talked to us at every visit, and really wants the customer to be happy. I really would like this place to make it, because frankly I love it!

We went here for my husbands birthday. My husband ordered the surf and turf. Normally a lobster tail is already small enough, yet the Hideaway serves a half a lobster tail and a tiny steak for $55 now that is special lol. My son ordered the seafood pasta which was so heavily coated in cheese it was nasty. I ordered prime rib that was good except they didn't bring nor ask if I would like horseradish (that normally comes with it) so by the time they brought it to me my prime rib was cold. My husband and I ordered the crème Brulee and my son ordered chocolate cake. When the deserts came the manager said even though my son had not ordered desert (not true) they brought him it on the house because he didn't like the pasta (like a $6 piece of cake equates to a $35 dinner what a slap in the face!) On top of that, after sampling our son's cake we clearly saw why it was free; it was so dried up and should have been in the garbage! We coat checked our coats and when we went to pick them up the lady was MIA we could have helped ourselves to any coat and so could other patrons! I asked if they could put the fireplace on as the restaurant was cold they said no because another patron was hot and they had turned off the fireplace for him (since he was with a large group he obviously came before us).

My review is based on a dinner we had 2 weeks ago when Chris Cina was still the chef. As of yesterday (9/9/11), he no longer is. I do want this restaurant to do well as it is in an area with limited choices. Good luck to both! Another disclaimer: While this was the first time I met Chris, I've been following him on Twitter for a while now as he is also a food blogger and food photographer. Two of my friends who were with me know him very well. Appetizers and desserts were complimentary. The review and feedback is my own. Hideaway has a beautiful space with some really awesome booths. They have a full bar and mix up some wonderful cocktails. I went with 3 of my GFs and we ordered a wide range of dishes. Chris made a special first course for us: lamb 3-ways: lamb tenderloin, lamb bacon that he had cured himself with sweet potato hash, braised lamb shank with goat cheese in ravioli. The reduction also had lamb juices. Brilliant! It was the perfect way to start a meal! We then ordered heirloom tomato carpaccio and escargots. The carpaccio was dressed just right and the escargot came in a buttery garlic sauce. Delicious. For entrees, we ordered salmon steak on lobster corn-chowder w/pancetta and basil pesto. After the lamb, this was the best dish that evening. Luckily, it was what I ordered! I don't eat much steak so I had taken a peek at their online menu beforehand and I was relieved to see chicken, salmon and ribs on the menu. Other entrees were: Beef tournados on fingerling potatoes w/braised swiss chard. All delicious but it was the swiss chard that I remember the most. Amazing. Roasted petit tender w/polenta cake on basil pestoand eggplant salsa. The steak was v juicy and tasty. Berkshire ribs with mac and manchego and haricot verts. This may have been my least favorite dish. The ribs were a little dry. The mac and manchego had a crispy top layer that I liked a lot though. We didn't think we could have dessert but we did. Ginormous chocolate chip cookies with milk. Mmmmmm. A chocolate-oreo-mousse-cream cake in a wide mouthed glass that was truly sinful. I was so full that I don't remember what this was called! Apple fritters. OMG. Truly one of the best desserts I have ever had. A thick slice of cored apple wrapped in donut batter, fried to a crispy cinnamon-y perfection. Not cloyingly sweet. Nirvana. We carried boxes back with us as we staggered home. Service was exemplary. Our server had a great sense of humor but did not insert herself into our conversation. She knew her way around the menu, making excellent suggestions based on our input. This is an expensive meal but so worth a visit. I hope they can maintain the quality now that Chris Cina is no longer with them. His European wife was the pastry chef there. Best wishes to all of them. I have pictures of our meal on Flickr (I did not upload them to Yelp as these are large files): flickr.com/photos/polarm…

We love this place for the great drinks and bartenders. If you are eating steak, be very specific about your temp and color. They have had inconsistencies on cooked temp in our experience, both over and under, and I'm not just talking about subjective interpretations of what medium rare is. But even so, they are awesome about correcting any problems. The bone-in ribeye is the bomb when properly cooked. And the side dishes are really nice too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can work this issue out, because choices for steak in the northern suburbs are bleak.
I live less than a mile from the Hideaway Steakhouse and I'm sure that will have something to do with how often I find myself there, but even if it was far from home I'd still stop by fairly frequently. I can't believe that this place used to be Gussie's and Andale. They haven't redone the parking lot but everything else has been transformed. They've done a lot of landscaping and work on the exterior and it's just gorgeous. Step inside and you won't even recognize the place. It's very inviting, with warm, dark woods and exposed stone. The fireplace definitely sets the mood. I think they're still figuring out how to accurately provide reservations but I'm sure they'll get the hang of it. We waited a little bit for our reservation for two even though there were plenty of empty tables. The hostess seemed a bit overwhelmed, but that gave us a chance to check out the bar. They're open until midnight every night and I'll definitely have to stop in for a tasty beverage soon. It's a big area and everything is comfy. I used to hit the Westin when I wanted to avoid brightly lit chain bars up north but it looks like that bar has been replaced by the Hideaway for me. We were sat in a monstrous booth even though it was just the two of us. The tables are few and spaced far between which is a nice alternative to other restaurants in more trendy areas where you're rubbing elbows with the table next to you. Everything was upscale (though honestly not many patrons dressed like it was very upscale). We ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress handled it all perfectly. She had lots of great recommendations and I ended up with the veal porterhouse. It was absolutely perfect and I found it very hard to resist picking up the bone to gnaw off every last bite. She highly recommended the lobster twice-baked potato but I wasn't impressed. The Caesar salad had a bit too much dressing but it was absolutely delicious. We had vanilla ice cream that was made in house and it was insanely good. They have a pastry chef and it shows. We also checked out the non-smoking patio though it isn't officially open until May 12th if memory serves. It's big and comfy and I hope to spend more than a couple summer evenings camped out there with a smart cocktail. They have a smaller smoking patio on the other side of the building, as well. The vibe was definitely cooler than the neighborhood would have you believe was possible. I was really impressed.

After Gussies left, I thought we were never going to get another upscale non-chain restaurant up north. When the renovations started, I was encouraged although it took quite awhile. It was worth the wait as the interior is stunning. The bar area is wonderful with it's ambiance and you want to sit down for a cozy drink, conversation and a little something to eat. The floor plan is basically the same but the dining room is stunning with it's fashionably shaped booths, fresh flowers on each table and a truly restful atmosphere. It makes you want to be seated and enjoy some fine dining. The hostess was great, greeting us and seating us in a magnificent booth. From the menu, that is what you hope it will be - a great experience. But actually, the dream stops here. The hostess gave us a waiters name but that person really never materialized. We were then given another name and some water and after we finished our water our waiter finally appeared. Just a note. There was not a shortage of staff here or very many diners. Our waiter did get us more water and took our order and explained the menu items we ordered. I thought the wine was reasonably priced for the menu but unfortunately, it didn't come until after our salads arrived. When we arrived there were 2 bartenders and only 5 people in the bar. I asked for dressing on the side but the salad had already been dressed but I felt it could have been an over-site. There was no bread or anything offered along with the meal. My friends Fillet Mignon was only a 6 oz cut but really it was the smallest steak I have ever seen. I have to admit it melted in your mouth and was truly wonderful. I ordered BBQ pork ribs which was truly a mistake. The portion was huge but the ribs were barely warm, not cooked that day or maybe even left from the weekend. They could have at least flash grilled then to give the pretense of bring fresh. I had a superb mac and cheese side and lovely fresh beans. I think the sides were great as far as the assortment but they have an al a cart menu with the steaks. Only the salad is included. The other dishes - like the ribs- have selected sides but I was happy with what went with my dish. I am sure you could substitute but I didn't ask.

The food and atmosphere are top-notch! With a more upscale restaurant such as this, you would expect the service to be slower, i.e. more time between courses to let your food settle, etc. However, my drink (iced tea) sat empty for far too long. My wife had the filet which was cooked to perfection! I highly recommend the wedge salad, as well. And for dessert, you absolutely MUST have the nutella-filled phyllo triangles with caramel sauce!!

Well, we waited a while and went back (I'm also a little late with my yelp, we ate a few weeks back). And I must say it was delicious! My wife and I ate at the bar. Live music in the lounge that had just the right "feel" for the space. We were served by a male bartender, I'm sorry I forgot his name, but he had a lot of tattoos. I must tell you that it may have been the best service we've has in a LONG time, ANYWHERE. Nicely done! we'll be back, and sorry for the poor review earlier. You guys seem to really have gotten you "stuff" together. Great Food, Exceptional Service great ambiance

First time having dinner here. Went on Saturday night, Aug. 16th. I was impressed on many levels. The server (Stefon, sp?) was excellent, recommending personal favorites from each category of the menu. The bread was excellent. I had the french onion soup and thought it was fantastic. There was four in our party and we all ordered filet mignons and they were all cooked perfectly. They were tender and delicious. I also loved the whipped potatoes. The house Cabernet Sauvignon was very good. One sauce comes with each steak and the server brought out two additional sauces for us all to try with our steaks. Nice touch I thought. This was a special occasion and I was glad we chose to come here. We will return. Server informed us about a prime rib special on Tuesdays. We will try that for sure. Great experience.

First time diner here so my impression was: Prime rib was very good, sides were fresh and done with care. The lamb chops were excellent. Service was good. A bit pricey i must say but the meat is fresh and done well. Atmosphere was good. Have to give this a solid 4 maybe 4.5.

My father and I had dinner here. We started with a salad, it was crisp and had great dressing! I had a filet minion with mushrooms and potatos au gratin, it was good, but my medium steak was a little under cooked. My dad had halibut with a grapefruit sauce, it was also good, but had a strange, unusual taste. He ordered a side of this "amazing mac and chz" but the server forgot it. The owners wonder around and mingle with the guests, and they were very nice, and very attentive. It's a good nice place in north Denver, thats about it. Our server bitched the entire time, and was not the best to get around to what we needed. In fact, we waited at least 10 minutes to greet us just for drinks.

With increased price come increased expectations. I had hoped that the quality and the taste of the food would blow my mind. I don't treat myself to a restaurant like this very often. When I do, I would like for the experience to be special. Every staff person there was very helpful and nice. Service, I felt was excellent. I ordered a Martini before getting seated, it was very good. When we were seated, our waitor was knowledgable. I ordered; the wedge salad, Rib Eye with truffle fries and creme broulee for desert. The wedge was good, the steak was chewy and fatty the truffle fries were good and the creme broulee was good. Key words here good, not great. The $39 steak needs to melt in my mouth, otherwise what's the point? The other people in the party ordered the Filet Mignon, They enjoyed their steak and left me with steak envy. I like the idea of an upscale restaurant like this in the neighborhood, but it needs to be truly upscale. I don't plan on returning to the Hideaway unless I notice a bit of a change.

I've never been that sick before in my entire life. After a entire night of severe food poisoning, I'm just now finding time to get to the computer and review. We went for Restaurant week- I had the crab cake, the ribs, and the chocolate mousse. I don't know which dish did me in, but it sure did. The food wasn't even that great going down, the dishes were poorly timed and bland. The appetizers arrived quickly, the meal was super slow, and then I wasn't even half way done with the entree when the bus boy came by with my dessert. My fork was literally in my mouth and I was holding the bowl of mac and cheese in my hand and he said, "are you still working on that?" UM...YES. As you can see that I am currently chewing and my fork is still engaged! He didn't care. He set down the desserts anyway- my fellow diners had finished their meals because they were tiny. I eat slower than they do, and I felt rushed and judged. So I stopped eating the ribs and went straight to the chocolate mousse. The mousse was warm, and slightly runny... which could have been the poisoning culprit too. Silk flowers were also the color of dead roses, and the bus boys were too aggressive. We had everything from water glasses being thrown back at us, to one boy telling us "he couldn't even afford to eat here." It was awkward to say the least. Verdict- Perhaps it was due to the new chef- but this place blew (chunks). And yes, I'm positive that it was the food at Hideaway that made me ill because I had only eaten a bowl of noodles for lunch (that I prepared myself) before the evening debacle. Save yourself, your time, and you money. Eat somewhere else.

Great restaurant. I've been three times, twice sat at the bar and once on the patio. I've stuck with the low to mid-priced items; bar menu, appetizers, chicken, and I'm happy to report everything was great. We've received excellent wine suggestions, and they serve Odell IPA which is my favorite. The doll at the piano and karioke on the weekends is a little cheesy but the food and decor is great and its the best alternative to driving into Denver. The person who commented on the "community night" should have known free or cheap is going to bring out a different crowd. Its never been like that when I've been there. Sure its an older crowd, but the neighborhood is older, it doesn't change the food or drink and thats why we're there, right?

We ate here 12/26/12 and originally sent this as an email to the owner, but never received a response... Let me start by saying we have eaten there several times before and have had generally good experiences. Last night we decided to bring our parents, who were in from Texas. Michael was our server, although Tim initially took our drink order. My wife told Michael that she intended to split both her salad and entree with her Mom and wanted the 10 oz filet butterflied and cooked medium since she didn't want an overly thick piece that was rare in the middle. Michael said butterflying it wasn't necessary and assured her that the steak would be cooked perfectly. My father in law and I both had the bone-in rib eye. Apps and salads were fine however, my wife's salad arrived on one plate without a second plate to share. When we asked for a plate we were given a small bread plate. Why the salad wasn't split in the kitchen is beyond me, especially after we told the server our intention. This is standard practice in any "high-end" restaurant. Now onto the main course; every single plate arrived with cold food. Steaks were cool to the touch, the Bearnaise sauce was actually cold, and the two rib eyes looked like two different cuts of beef. Again, no second plate to split onto. Everything was immediately sent back, but our server immediately copped an attitude. My father in law's steak was completely unappetizing, thin, and grey. Mine was at least thick and juicy. The filet? Not yet medium and too thick for her taste, as she was afraid it would be. The server said he would tell the chef and he would come out to talk to us. Then the plates came back out after being somewhat reheated. I'm not sure why this happened and not made fresh, especially after our server witnessed me sticking my finger in the sauce to show him how cold it was originally. The same thin rib eye came back out still grey and sad looking. At this point Steve (the owner I believe) came by and expressed his wanting to make things better and to offer a complimentary dessert. We told him our issues with the differences in rib eyes and all he could say was how big the footprint of the thinner steak was, so we were obviously getting value. This steak was actually sliced through the bone and was half the thickness of the other one. This was completely unacceptable and someone should have stepped up to the plate to fix this, but alas, we never saw our server again until the check was brought, and he stood and hovered while we counted out our cash. A 25% discount off the food total was laughable. We were still paying $30 plus for re-heated steaks that could have been from Applebees. My father in law's last cocktail was even wrong; maybe not a big deal to substitute a lime when he asked for a lemon, but at this point we didn't care, since we had become an afterthought. To add insult to injury, the receipt was marked as "problem table." More like problem restaurant. We will not be back.

I LOVE this place. The service was superb and the food was excellent. The best steak (6 oz. filet mignon) I have ever had! Perfection. I ordered the steak with the whipped potatoes and mustard cream sauce. I will definitely be going back again. The atmosphere is cozy and dark, nice and updated. Parking is a little limited so you have to get creative sometimes! ;) One of my favorite restaurants in Denver!

We are very excited by the possibilities of Hideaway Steakhouse. Ever since the demise of 975 North, there have been literally NO decent restaurants in this area. We stopped in just to have a look and check out the menu, but ended up staying for drinks and apps. The ambience is great, especially for this area. Large comfy booths but with more class than BJ's or Fishbone. There's a creepy mannequin (I assume old people think it's "cute") playing a grand piano (the "live" music is actually a very nice touch) in the bar area with cocktail tables, booths, and a nice modern fireplace. The flatware and table service is STELLAR. Heavy, well-designed cutlery, really nice stemware, square plates, etc... I'm curious to see how long they last. I had the mussels on the owner, Steve's, recommendation, and also had the Caesar salad and some fries. The fries were good, though nothing extraordinary. The Caesar has a creamy dressing, not as citrusey as I typically like, but good nonetheless. The dessert menu looked GREAT, but we decided to save that for another time. For a beverage, I had "The Duke," which was served in a tiny rocks glass, neat. If I was at all disappointed when the drink arrived, I changed my mind quickly. The drink was tasty, and since it was served "neat," there was a fair amount of alcohol in the glass. Once I got over the size, I realized it's actually a pretty well designed drink (simple, visually clean, understated). I think the name "The Duke" leads a person astray... I was expecting a big gulp with a loaded Smith and Wesson revolver for garnish. They should definitely change the name of this drink. I worry that this area simply can't sustain a decent "upscale" restaurant, so we'll be keeping an eye on this one. From the previous reviews, it sounds like they're missing their mark with the entrees, so I'll have to update this review once we have a proper meal. So far so good though. I hope it can last!

Definitely a nice place but definitely not worth the money. My wife and I split an appetizer, each had an entree, and each had a glass of house cab sav. Bill: $125. Food: not even as good as what you get at Ted's Montana Grill. Frankly Outback's steak is better than what you will find at the hideaway. This restaurant enjoys a dearth of competition and close proximity to an affluent neighborhood....a perfect recipe for blatant fleecing. The bar area looked like the best part of the restaurant and I would probably go back just for drinks, but will never pay their outrageous prices for such pedestrian culinary fare. Service was great and I hope their waiters find work worthy of their abilities elsewhere.

World class service. Excellent 18oz rib eye steak. This place is a Hidden gem. Bye bye Elways and hello Hideaway.

Good, but definitely a splurge. Went there for anniversary. Good food, good atmosphere, but a bit "over the top" on pricing. Food and presentation were above average, but probably not up to the premium pricing.

This is a good steak house. Seafood menu needs to grow a little, but this place is in it's first year and the food is solid. If you live north this is about as good as it gets.
came in for lunch and loved it. Great service and a very fair price. Look forward to coming in for dinner!

Very good food. Healthy. Great service. Definitely a keeper. Contrary to some of the other reviewers we weren't ushered out quickly. Since we were there to catch up friends we had not seen for a long time we chatted a long time & no one bothered us. I had the Shepherds Pie. 1st time I ever had it & it was delicious. Tasty!

Overall just OK. My Vodka tonic was very watered down for a 7 dollar drink. My steak was good, my sides were not. The gratin potatoes were dry and under seasoned. The cheese on top was burned. The spinach was bitter. My wife really liked her salmon. Not sure if I would go back given the prices.

We arrived and were seated promptly, it was a Tuesday evening and that is Prime Rib night so that seemed like a natural. Wait staff was either too busy or just not terrible competent, slow and untimely service. The salads arrived and I think my wife had the prefect comment.. I've seen more salad on some airline flights. When the entree arrived it was more than obvious that this meat selection was not medium rare, after a short wait to get the waitresses attention she heartily agreed (? why did she bother to serve it) and returned later with an acceptable cut of prime rib. The brussels sprouts were acceptable but not what you would expect from a "chef". My wife's rib entree was not a well prepared meal either; the preparation, the sauce, and the finish were something one would find in a fast food establishment. I had the distinct impression that both meals had sat beneath a heat lamp for an extended period of time. A high note, the mac & cheese was quite good. Sorry to say we will not return, and that is disheartening because we could use an upscale restaurant on the the north side. I was reluctant to post this less than sparkling review, however, after speaking with several other diners I found that I was not alone.

Previously my husband and I had gone to the bar and shared their angus cheeseburger-5 stars on that burger! Last time we went to the bar area (on a Saturday) they had an act - a Sinatra sound-a-like who was exceptionally entertaining-great fun! Tonight my husband and I went out with my mother-in-law. Our waiter was Gregg and almost everything was exceptional-New York Strip, Porter House Steak, Spinach, Baked Potato, salad with Basil vinagrette dressing- all outstanding. Greg highly recommended the mac and cheese. Both my mother-in-law didn't care for it-cheese was gouda-like without the smokiness and very strong. The taste was how Greg described it so we didn't hold it against him. He recommended the white choc creme brulee, which we ordered and loved and Mark order the apple fritter which was excellent. The Fess Parker chardonnay by the glass was fantastic and a good pour- all in all a top-rate experience. Greg had a fun sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about every part of the menu. The atmosphere was how I like it-very clean and romantic but not pretentious-very comfy. We will return!

I was disappointed with my visit. We waited a half an hour just to order after being seated without drinks or bread. When the salads came, around the one hour mark, the disappointment grew as there were large chunks of brown lettuce. We tried to be optimistic but when our steaks arrived, now an hour and a half after entering, mine was bloody while my husband's was fully grey though we had both asked for pink centers. When my husband told the waitress that it was over cooked, she said "Is it? But that's okay, right?" and walked away before we could respond. There was no fixing my steak as the cut of prime rib I had ordered had long since sold out in the hour and a half that had passed while waiting for our food. We spent $100 for poorly cooked food, brown lettuce and slow service. A complete turnaround from what had been my favorite restaurant. I won't be going back.

Great crab cakes and the mussels were very good as well. I've only sat at the bar for apps and cocktails and I haven't had a steak yet. The service has been very attentive. Highly recommend.

(2)Danny H.

My fiancée and I had our post valentine lunch here. Everyday they have a different special. I've had their steak lunch special here before, which was so juicy and amazing. This time around, I had the wrap lunch special that had crab and shrimp with fresh fruit on the side. The wrap was very large portioned as I could only eat half, but it was very fresh tasting and delicious. On the other hand, the fruit was very floral tasting and not as juicy as fruit normally are. My fiancée had their French onion soup which was very hot and cheesy, but delicious nonetheless. For his main course, he had the BBQ sandwich lunch special. He said it was nothing to rave about and it was just ok. Obviously we didn't try their main dish of steak, but their offers of non-steak dishes were decent enough and reasonably priced.

Short Story: I enjoyed every moment of the comically bad service and a ruined $44 steak, because this is the grand prize winner of the worst dining experience I've ever had. Long Story: When I entered the restaurant on a Monday night at 7pm there was no one to greet me. I waited for 2 minutes, then decided to sit in the bar. I stood in the bar for a moment or two trying to decide if I would sit at at the bar or at a table. The two bartenders did everything they could to avoid eye contact. I sat down at a table and watched the female bartender serve another nearby table, and walk back into the kitchen without a word to me. At this point I knew the service would be hilariously bad. She finally returned and approached my table witch what I can only describe as an expression of sheer disappointment. I felt like maybe she would have been sent home early if I hadn't come in. She said, "what are you having?", and I asked for a menu. Maybe when when she rolled her eyes and walked away it was because someone else was supposed to have given me one. Maybe. She returned with the menu, did not offer to get me a drink, but did come back again about 5 minutes later to ask, "Did you decide?" "How can I pass up the steak?" "How would you like it?" "Medium" "Anything to drink?" "Well, its a $44 dollar steak! I'm not even sure what to pair it with." "...." "I mean, that will be the most expensive filet I've ever eaten. I want to get it right. It's a big deal, right?" "Sure." "I guess a red wine..." "Reds are on this page." "Okay how about this one." "Okay. I'll be right back with your wine." [Starts to walk away] "Wait, shouldn't I have a cocktail first? Like, a bourbon or whiskey first? I mean, it's a $44 filet!" "What kind?" "Makers, neat." "What?" "Makers Mark, neat please." "uhhh... kay" The Makers was delivered without a word. The filet arrived shortly after. Much too soon, and without the wine. Here is the best part: The filet was alone on the plate. Nothing else but a unimpressive $44 hunk of meat, and when I cut it open, it was raw. Not rare: it was cold to the touch. I waited patiently for 4-5 minutes for my little charmer to come back. I pointed out the problem and she quickly took the plate back to the kitchen. The manager returned with a butterflied steak, apologized, and asked me to cut it in front of him. It was med-rare. He said, "Oh that's still not medium." I said, "I can do med rare." However, in this moment I realized they had crossed a line. I had a revelation. If you mess up a $44 steak, and especially if it is the only thing on the plate, you START OVER. You DO NOT BUTTERFLY IT. Now I had two $22 fillets that were both dry and overcooked on the outside, and under cooked on the inside. If I closed my eyes and used my imagination I could almost sense what it would have tasted like if it had been done properly in the first place, and it was still nothing special. The manager comped me a day old reme brûlée , so everything is fine.

Think Broadmoor only steaks, top notch service and pleasant ambiance. Birthday celebration with steak, salmon, excellent wine, service and a killer great creme brûlée. Ask for Brian as your waiter on a Sunday night; not as busy but everything you'd want on a special Friday or Saturday. We keep going back for special occasions because this place hasn't disappointed in many years - consistent excellence in food and making you feel special.
(5)Ryan S.

(1)Patrick S.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE!! only thing is, I wish this place had extended hours...other than that it's amazing all around...pricey but worth it, healthy drinks that taste amazing! ADRIAN the bartender is so awesome...if you want a perfect drink and service that rocks just ask for him!! HIDEAWAY you are the bomb!!

Sad.

OVERVIEW: *attentive staff *excellent food *order calamari, wedge, and fillet, just do it. I have read mixed reviews of the Hideaway. I can not fathom the poor reviews happening. My husband and I arrived for our fifth anniversary dinner and were greeted cheerfully by the hostess who asked if we were celebrating anything special. We filled her in and she took us to our table. Waters were brought to our table and our server arrived shortly after with the knowledge of our anniversary and well wishes. She was very patient while we looked over the menu and guided us through the specials. We decided on calamari appetizer, (cooked perfectly), wedge salad,(lots of blue cheese crumbles and tasty candied pecans), my husband had the filet,(outstanding), I had the prime rib,(really good, until I tried the filet, just order the filet, don't fight it). Then, though we were in a hurry to get home, we forgot to mention that when we arrived, we asked for the dessert menu and the server looked surprised. She shortly arrived with a complimentary creme brûlée with a candle inside to celebrate our anniversary. So kind.

My husband's employer had their Christmas party in the private dining room at Hideaway and it was a real treat. We had 4 courses and none of them disappointed. For apps I had the crab cakes with tangy cole slaw then I chose the corn & chicken chowder. For my meal I had salmon with rice and a mango/jicama salsa (unusual & tasty). For dessert we had 3 treats-chocolate brownie, mini crème Brule tart and pumpkin cheesecake (my fav). The wait staff was super attentive and personable. The décor of the restaurant is natural, modern and high end. Even the restrooms were beautiful! I really can't say how the pricing is because I was being treated but it appears to be on the upper tier. Nice place for a special occasion or "meeting the fiancé's family" type dinner.
(5)Steve J.
We've been there twice now. Both times the food was perfect and service very professional. Very nice bar area too. A little pricy but not considering comparable quality in the Denver area. We will be back.
(4)Jessy K.
This is my first yelp, but I cannot let others spend their hard-earned $ at the Hideaway. First, it is time to clean the bar dishwasher!! My water and wines glasses smelled like a swamp. Second, the mussels appetizer was portioned for just one (of course the price doesn't match) and a couple of them tasted a little off. Third, when my mouth is full and I am unable to respond to the "how does it taste" question, don't assume everything is ok, answering "delicious!" for me and be bop away! Next, the filet oscar with gnocchi was pretty good, but served lukewarm it left much to be desired (bernaise should be hot!). Finally, don't serve creme brûlée if you made it and caramelized the sugar the day before! Overall, very disappointing experience. We won't be back.

Who wants to eat seafood in a land locked state? I certainly don't - with that said, Mediocre BEEF. It's what's for dinner. Here's why it's only getting 3 Yelps folks: BEEF Foodstuffs: - & + 18-oz Cowboy Bone-In Ribeye. $42. It was recommended by the server and I had ordered it black-n-blue. It came out MAYBE mid-rare as you can see in my photo. It was still "good" but they're getting docked major points for messing up the temp on this steak - in fact, I even told them the temp I wanted it, about ~110. They had the char right, just didn't cook it properly. :( NON-BEEF Foodstuffs: - Sautéed Mushrooms. These were heavily over done and mushy :( + Truffle & Garlic Fries. Probably the best side of the evening, the garlic was strong and SO THERE, they didn't overdo the truffle and the fries were hearty, very crisp and very potato-ey in the middle. Just the way they should be. + Mixed Root Vegetables. The root veggies were really good - they did a good job on these. Still a bit of a bite to them but tender - thumbs up. Service: + We sat outside and had 2 servers for our table of 9. They were attentive, friendly, nice and just "right" The Joint: + Hideaway isn't hidden nor is it away - it's actually quite easy to find and the restaurant is quite nice on the inside. Especially the large oversized yellow booths - so I really enjoyed the restaurant. Beautiful outdoor seating area which got a bit cold so we ended up coming back inside Final Thoughts: If I were in the area and there was nowhere else to go, I'd stop by again but frankly, I'd rather go to the Capital Grille or one of my chain steakhouses that I love so much. Rather, there are much much better places serving up steak in the Denver area so I'll hit one of them up next time I'm here. THIS has been a review by Gaurav

WOW!!! This place is amazing. The food is high quality and the service is impeccable.... Yes its pricey but the experience is beyond anything less than high expectations.
(5)Samantha N.
Love this place for happy hour! Drinks are so good, bar menu is so good. Steakhouse quality at happy hour prices! Love.

We just dined at Hideaway for a celebration of my brother's 30th birthday. The server, Wesley, was fabulous! She was incredibly knowledgable without sounding rehearsed, sweet and attentive without being overbearing or pushy. Overall the service gets two thumbs up. The only negative was that my mother's rack of lamb had on piece that was absolutely perfect, but the other piece was all fat. My mom wasn't going to say anything since the other piece was so delicious, but the server asked her how the lamb was. So my mom was honest. She said she would let the chef know and returned to the table less than five mins later offering a complimentary creme brûlée from the owner to make up for the fatty lamb. The mixed drinks were great. My parents said the wine was excellent. My brother asked Wesley's opinion on which main entree to order and was very pleased with his short ribs. Overall, a fabulous experience with way above par service. They really know how to treat their guests!

Great place to impress your date Love the service and food but the drinks are not cheap
(3)Jackie F.
Like a find steakhouse should, this place had an extensive wine list, plenty of vegetables and a very accommodating chef. I had a lovely salad and a vegetable plate. It was actually quite good!
(4)Daniel L.

Nice cozy ambiance with live music on Fri and Sat. Great selection of wine with knowledgeable servers.
(4)M C.
(3)Shaun S.
(4)Rob T.
Very nice laid-back atmosphere, A great place for special occasions. Some of the best service I've ever had.
(5)Maureen S.
We had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with the OWNER of this restaurant, who was so terrible with his customer service, that we will never return. He argued with us over the bill for an entrée that was overcooked and just plain unsatisfactory. We spent $350 on dinner and wine and when we questioned the bill as the entrée we sent back was charged in full, he wanted to argue over our request to take $20 off the bill. I wont support businesses like this where making a buck is more important than taking care of a customer. Terrible customer experience.
(1)Manoj P.
Best Steakhouse I have been to. It is pricey but worth the money. I would recommend that people make reservation. Since the restaurant is more on the upper class feel, I would not recommend bringing small kids.
(5)Kimberly B.
We went for my birthday. The staff is great. And the food is fabulous. We enjoy going on special occasions. The restaurant is one of our favorite places. The food is always cooked to perfection.
(5)Jerry M.
Food is acceptable. Prices are very high. Poor value.
(2)Ms. K.
We went for customer appreciation week on a Sunday night. Great menu, delicious food, perfect servings, fantastic service! Manager visited table a couple times. Nice hidden gem!
(5)Emily P.
(1)Laura B.
Good Luck
(1)D O.
The service was impeccable. Brian was our waiter. The food was good although I feel our steaks were choice, not prime as listed on the menu. The Mac and Manchego cheese with lump crab was amazing. The $8 for 6 stalks of asparagus was not. They had a great selection of wine so no complaints there. The desserts were not very memorable, but I would highly recommend the pumpkin brûlée. Our favorite cocktail hands down was the Bourbon Manhattan but be prepared for a very, very small cocktail. Overall, we would probably visit this restaurant again, although we would not go out of our way to do so.
(3)Leilani S.
(3)Willie B.
(3)Missy M.
We come here for happy hour, great menu and drinks. Nice ambience in the bar. Friendly staff and right in my neighborhood. Have heard mixed reviews on the food in the restaurant side, but for happy hour, you can't beat it. They have a really nice patio for good weather too.
(4)Michael G.
Our server was amazing with his knowledge of the menu and wine list. Lacking in attentiveness when it came to our drinks as 2 of us sat for 15 minutes with empty glasses. I had to ask a bus boy for a new order. Appetizers were good not great. The seared ahi was spicy and served with a pile of field greens. The ahi should haven the star and wasn't. The iceberg wedge with blue cheese was lacking. The blue was so diluted with sour cream that the blue flavor was gone and the bacon flavor was non existent. I had the bison prime rib and so did my friend. He sent his back, he ordered M/R came out medium. The server immediately took it away and said "we will take care of that sir". The manager however, came back and said when "they cut it in the middle it was blood rare". What ever the case don't argue with a patron when the are not happy with the way a $48 piece of meat does not meet expectations. Mine was cooked perfectly. It was disappointing with the amount of tendon in it. The creme brûlée for dessert was awful. Chocolate chips in it? Dense. Little flavor with the exception of the overload of chocolate chips. All of our meals were luke warm at best. For the money we should have gone to the Capitol Grille. Will say again the server was really good, I wish the meal was as good as he was.
(3)Stan P.
(4)Helen C.
I love this Place...what a neighborhood gem! My favorite thing here is the Kobe beef short ribs, I do wish they were on the menu year round! It is really important to support delicious non-corporate family owned restaurants in the community and this is one of them! Gorgeous atmosphere as well!
(5)Stacey A.

Awesome! I eat out for work every day, but this place is good. I'll be back. Wife had steak, me the swordfish. Waiter was great.
(5)Winston C.
(4)Michelle D.
This place is a Gem! We have been there for The Awesome Happy Hour as well as dinner! It is worth the price. Steaks were tasty as well as the serene ambiance! They have a pianist on Fridays... Fun! Would recommend for special occasions, romantic date for dinner.

As I read under another post, I would have liked to give this place a better review since it is in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, a good review would be insulting to future patrons and the owner/manager. New Years eve...12.31.13...looking for a great time and knowing I was going to pay a price way beyond reasonable; but hey, it was New Years, right? Wife ordered special which seemed to indicate a price that included a salad and desert...whoops, were we surprised when we were charged a whooping amount for a decent salad and a creme brûlée that was "nonexistent"...meaning it was more burnt sugar than brûlée. Oh, credit where credit is due...berries were very good...Fish entree excellent. Now, I ordered half-rack that would not have been served by a food truck owner. In fact, I have had ribs from a food truck that were much better. I love BBQ and every chance I get to have a crack at some good ribs (pun intended), I do so. The waiter said they were a chef specialty. NOT!!! They were cold and had a pasty looking ketchup like substance smeared on them; and upon the first taste, it was a poor ketchup, indeed! Sweet and stuck to the roof of your mouth. Yuck, yuck, yuck. I managed to get one of them down and just couldn't go any farther. My night was ruined. I paid almost $150.00 for food that should not have been allowed to leave the kitchen. Just about forgot, the green beans were great...potatoes...okay, not bad. Did I say that upon arrival the first, and I mean the first thing, the doorman said was they had an 8:00p reservation for our table, but didn't want to hurry us up. Uh, it was 5:55p; I am a slow eater, but, really? Over charged, mislead, cold food, a non-BBQ sauce, hurry up attitude, skinny desert...parking was good cause I found a space in the front.

(3)Janel S.
(5)andre L.

(5)Rob S.
(2)Valerie M.
(5)Michelle P.

I give this restaurant one star because it won't let me give it zero. Don't waste your money here. I went to dinner with my wife the day after Valentine's Day and I've never been so disappointed. We ordered the couples special which included a glass of house wine, an appetizer, choice of entree and a dessert. We started with the clam chowder which was ok but not mentioned that it was a Manhattan clam chowder. We also ordered the mussels for 12 dollars and received about twelve tiny mussels of which a couple tasted really bad. The entree was a Luke warm filet Oskar with room temp Bernaise sauce, cold cooked vegetables and gnocchi which actually was good but should not have been the highlight of a 60 dollar plate. The wine and water glasses smelled swampy as if the dishwasher was extremely dirty or the water filter has never been changed. To top off an extremely expensive and disappointing evening we both ordered the creme brûlée which was cold, rubbery and did not have a crisp caramelized top. It tasted as if it had been made and caramelized the day before. I love going out to fancy dinners but I only get a couple opportunities each year to do so. This was not only a waste of money but a really disappointing night for me and my wife who have been looking forward to going here for a long time.
(1)Tina F.

(5)John S.
(1)Cindy K.
This place doesn't rate a star.... food ok but the staff is so rude if your going to pay the price then go down town. Why pay for bad wait staff .. When your already paying for high dollar food. Better choice down town.... (Outback work just as well with better wait staff)
(1)Lisa S.

(4)Jason L.
(5)Jordan A.
(3)Mary M.
(5)Ray S.

Very Good. A bit out of the way, but worth the drive.

Overall I had a great time at Hideaway when the wife and I went the other night. Things I liked: * My pre dinner, gin and tonic, drink only cost 3.75$ on happy hour. For a high end place that's not bad. It's nice to go somewhere and not get ripped off on drinks. * The steak I ordered for dinner was outstanding * The wine selection was good with a number of decent priced wines, all to my liking. Again, nice to not get ripped off. They had a number of high end wines as well. * The place, they really out did themselves with the remodel of the building. Things I did not like: * No béarnaise sauce. Not that the steak needed a sauce, I just like a little béarnaise now and again ... and it's not something easily made at home. * The service was good but we did feel a bit rushed. All and all I was impressed. I was not sure a place in Westminster with downtown prices could survive but after visiting I think it has a shot, and I certainly hope so.

Our first visit was very pleasant. The best steakhouse in the northern metro area.. Service was friendly and prompt, the wine list adequate. A tad expensive.

(4)Ed V.

Crab cakes were phenomenal. Filet was just right. Crab legs were over priced.. And they had no Bernaise. But the service was great!!!
(4)ben m.
(5)Sheri W.
Great NEW place in an unexpected area! AMAZING steaks ! Great appetizers and wine ! Beautiful decor ! You must try ! All new - working some bugs out - but great ! Beats driving down to Elways!

Beautiful place! Food is better at the Outback Steakhouse. Service is horrible. Price is way over the worth of this place! Such a Bummer!

(4)Corey S.

(5)Ted H.
Good, but definitely a splurge. Went there for anniversary. Good food, good atmosphere, but a bit "over the top" on pricing. Food and presentation were above average, but probably not up to the premium pricing.
(4)Bryan M.
This is a good steak house. Seafood menu needs to grow a little, but this place is in it's first year and the food is solid. If you live north this is about as good as it gets.

Went there within a week of opening and was immediately impressed. Not only were we surprised about the aesthetics of the place - HUGE booths, a beautiful bar, a fantastic dining room - but the food was amazing. I met the owner while we were there and I assume this is his first restaurant - Good Job George. I know it's tough to get it right the first time and I am very impressed. The wine list is a great starter as they've been open less than a week. I am guessing they will ( and they should) open more bottles for glass pouring down the road. My wife and I weren't terribly hungry when we came in so we planned on sharing an appetizer or 2, sharing an entrée (perhaps) and getting out of Dodge. We stayed for dessert!!! The crab Cakes were perfect, light, flaky and clearly seared in a skillet. Most people don't know that Sauteed does not mean "fried" in a pan but rather small amounts of oil and very high heat. A perfect appetizer to share. I was first introduced to Maytag Bleu Cheese while working in a restaurant in Nebraska. The Baby Iceberg Wedge Salad had a healthy dose of it - at least until I got to it. There's something Iowa has figured out about Bleu Cheese that's the perfect blend of funky, creamy, skunky and delicious. Hopefully the rest of us can catch up. I hadn't had Duck since a trip last fall to Napa Valley. I was so pleased with the duck here. The quality of the meat was excellent, the preparation made it. It's a roasted duck so the fatty skin usually turns out a little greasy and "loose." That's my only Quip with Hideaway - I like Crispy Duck Skin. For Dessert, GET THE JALAPEÑO CREME BRULEE!!! I know it sounds weird and by all accounts it was... The good kind of weird! It's a roasted and seeded/stemmed jalapeño pepper, diced and tossed in with the creme before setting and the torch. The way the sweetness of the sugar changes form, the jalapeño takes on a new smoky flavor, and how the sweetness is almost underplayed by the whole dish that makes it come together perfect. Your mind has a tough time grasping all of these things at once. It was amazing. I had a Habenero Ice cream in Phoenix a few years ago and this was a similar experience. For a new place I can't wait to see future menus. The service was the one area I feel was not broken in. With time it will come around and continue to improve. It was very good though. Great Job Chef, Great Job George and We will be back.

came in for lunch and loved it.
