This is a pretty good place for happy hour. Usually we have a big group coming from work (6-10 people) and this place has plenty of large tables where we can sit together without feeling too crowded. However, our group was once scolded for moving 1 chair from another table (the restaurant was not crowded at the time) so that was strange. Happy Hour specials are ok, but not the best. The specials on beer are pretty good but on mixed drinks it can get pricey quickly. They have Woodchuck hard cider on tap which is one of my favorites, along with quite a few beers. They also have a good selection of appetizer specials. The food here is ok, but again nothing special. Prices on food seem a bit high for what they are. The service can be spotty. I have had servers that are very good and others that bring by one drink and never check on you again. Overall the atmosphere here is decent. It's comfortable to watch the games going on, but not so loud that you can't socialize with the people at your table.

is it just me or is bar louie all about first impressions and then they just don't care???? when Bar louie first opened i would have liked to give it 5 stars easily! but then something went south.... i remember they use to have navan on the shelf and it seemed like there food prices could not be beat and there service was great! the general manager even is required to get behind the bar and start helping when it is extremely busy... but the last few times i went there i have been let down with slow or poor service, spent 48$ on 3 drinks and buffalo calamari..... say what?

I used to love this place! After having a bad experience with my cousins, I decided to give it another chance... but it's not gonna happen anymore! :( I guess they changed the owners of this place, and ever since then, I just don't enjoy the food, atmosphere, or the service anymore. They have half priced drinks and appetizers after a certain time (I think it's 9pm?), but the food comes out cold. :( The regular prices of the drinks are ridiculously expensive and NOT worth the money. Or your time either since they take forever to take your order and bring you out your food. The staff members and manager there are extremely RUDE. I do not recommend this place... if you need to go to Bar Louie, I suggest on going to another location. The food is mediocre, nothing really special, but they do give you large portions of food...

A bit pricey, but the drinks are fantastic. Friday is def the best night to go. Half price sliders and after $10 its $5 any martini. Fantastic

I rarely give out bad reviews, especially for a restaurant considering I used to be a sever and bartender for a few years but this was not a good experience. Came in on a Sunday afternoon during the lunch rush. I saw only 2 people working the entire time. We sat for at least 10 minutes before getting our drink order taken (with no apology for the wait) and then waited another 15 minutes until he came back to get our order. We then waited another 45 minutes for the food. Still no apology for the wait and no visit from a manager. The server knew we were not happy so knowing that he should of informed someone else to make things right and have someone at least apologize for being short handed. I can give a server a break but not this time. There was no sympathy from the server and looked like he could care less. Never again.

Just. Great. Service. Two visits and twice have been blown away by David A. the bartender. His easygoing, friendly attitude coupled with his Wikipedia wisdom of craft brews, and unforced conversations makes you want to grab a seat at his rail, have a nice cool tug on a pint and chat. (Or, I may have my first man crush). It doesn't hurt they have great happy hour deals on tap beers, martini's, and my newest passion- Verde Chicken Flatbread! A thin, almost "cloud-like light", surfboard shape and sized pizza that taste fresher than a face plant in sugary powder on a spring skiing run.

I love the burgers here, but I suggest that you order to-go if you aren't there to party. We usually go before the "bar crowd" arrives - which is around 5pm or so. The smell of dirty mop water permeates the air and the tables are sticky with the remnants of spilled beer from the previous night. The wait staff is disinterested in serving you and it takes longer than usual to get your food. I've tolerated all of this before because of the delicious burgers with crazy good toppings. But when my memory of deliciousness is trumped by my memory of tolerating stenches and stickiness - I don't want to return.

On a Friday night not that long ago, I ended up at Bar Louie because my husband was starving and didn't want to wait for a table at the very crowded Rock Bottom. Bar Louie was there and had *many* open tables, so we walked in and waited to be seated. While the bartender and several servers definitely saw us, no one stepped up to seat us, let alone acknowledge our presence. Some of the servers were busy with other customers...others were busy chatting with the bartender. A simple nod and "we'll be right with you" would have been enough to keep us waiting, but after almost 10 minutes we decided our business wasn't needed or wanted, so we walked out and will likely never walk in there again.

I got a free appetizer and sent it back because it was that bad.service was good because they were busy.Beer is small and lukewarm.meatball appetizer swimming in its own grease.11.5 in real money.I live here and have limited options when it comes to food within a reasonable walking distance. The Westminster promenade is deplorable if you want a good meal for less than 18 dollars.

Very big place. Great service. Sat at the bar once and at a booth once. The flavored sangria for summer is awful. Tasted like liquid bubblegum. Food was below average. I got the Mac and cheese which was cold. It came with bread which was also cold. The dessert options were all great. Came back the next night to just get dessert take out. Points for service, ambience and dessert.

I like Bar Louie as a bar. Though there are decent food options, it is mostly high calorie bar food. Busy Tuesday night with $5 burger specials. Plenty of seating in a big open space. Better than average Chicken Nacho Plate. Great pieces of shredded chicken.

Thien (pronounced 'Tin') is AWESOME! He is SO POLITE even during a mad rush and is super super knowledgeable about everything and makes sure you have what you need! We went on a Tuesday after 5pm - ANY burger meal is $5!!!!!

I was shocked, so many bad reviews? My local Bar Louie?! I've been coming here for 4-5 years and never had a remotely negative experience. After reading the reviews, I figured it out. You guys are doing it wrong. Here is the secret... SIT AT THE BAR. HAPPY HOUR ONLY. The negative reviews are all mostly about the waitstaff. Skip that! This place has attentive bartenders who remember what you drink even if you haven't been there in a few months. You also get a nice view of the 40 something beers on tap. Great Divide's Hercules for $3.25? Yes I will. Tuesday are $5 burger night. They are real $10 restaurant burgers that come with fries or tots. The Chicago stockyard is the crown jewel. The $5 burgers start at 5pm and happy hour ends at 7pm so you can figure out the sweet spot there. Remember guys, This isn't Applebees or whatever you people like. Its a bar. Just sit at the bar, order a $5 blue cheese olive martini and be happy.

It's a sad day when there is NO one in this bar and we came into watch a football game and they would NOT turn up the volume on the TV cause it's a corporate rule!! Guess what you lost a customer!!!! Shame on you!!!

If you want to go to a restaurant and just sit and take in the scenery of the restaurant or maybe a nice view of the parking lot, this is the restaurant for you! However if you want service, food, or drinks, I'd suggest somewhere else. Went there on Wednesday around 6 pm, open seating in the bar was available. Shortly after, we learned that available seats does not ensure service. Took waitress 15 minutes to take our drink order and we waited another 20 minutes waiting to receive those drinks that were poured and sitting on the bar. The waitress did come by with glasses of water while the drinks sat at the bar and told us "this is better than nothing." We gave up and finally left. Asked waitress to cancel order, not even an apology for the wait. Go to Rock Bottom- the wait may be longer but at least you get service when you get a table.

Love this joint! My bf & I go about once a week during happy hour. The staff is always kind & fast. The happy hour food is always good. I would invite those who have had a bad experience at Lodos to come to this facility instead. They are only down the street from each other. This is my favorite place to go during happy hour good menu and beer on tap. :)

  • Dan S.

Could be 5 star if their staff gave a shit or were trained properly. Drinks are on the pricey side but are mixed well. Food is usually darn good, have had a couple exceptions to this, but generally good. Wait times can be pretty bad. Most of the time drink and food orders would get there faster if they strapped them to the back of a carrier turtle. Music can be way too loud! I really don't feel it is a kid friendly place. I will go back because the food is not bad and there is one or two servers who 'get' it.

Huge place with great food and LOTS of beer options. Shared some small plates and beer with a friend last weekend and everything was great. Service was quick and friendly until it came time for the check and our waitress seemed to have forgotten about us. No biggie - we found her and settled up. If you're in the area and want a little nosh and a cocktail to go with it, this is a fine spot.

Came here on a spur of the moment. I was here once before and got the pulled pork sandwich which was amazing. On this occasion got some burgers which were good. Came here during a Broncos game. Place seemed fairly empty but it would make sense since they have overpriced drinks. And they know it too since only the drinks aren't priced on the menu they only have prices for the wine. And for the martini that was mostly ice shouldn't have been ten bucks. It wasn't super huge or amazing. If you are thirsty then only come during happy hour. Otherwise not entirely worth it. P.S. they did give me a dollar off my tab because it was game day.

  • Mark B.

Three stars makes a lot of sense for this place. The food is alright and there are lots of beers on tap. They clearly only buy from one liquor distributor because the selection is wicked specific and rather limited. The staff is nice though and they have lots of TVs so your expectations are usually met. Just don't go here expecting anything unique or special and you'll leave happy. **Last minute edit as I'm still here. Despite still feeling the same way about my words here above, they make it painfully obvious that the only concern at this establishment is maintaining their overly inflated profit margins. A bar is allowed to be pricey; I just prefer my bars to give the perception that they are in business for people and a good time. Not just getting rich.

This place is AWESOME!!! My boyfriend and I have gone twice now! We split a pulled pork sandwich and the sesame fried cod with fried rice. Both were amazing! My boyfriend also likes the cocktail peach lightening. We tried the chocolate cake and it was not the best, but still good. The servers are so friendly and its a great place to try something new. Would definitely recommend!

PROS: Nice bar area, spacious restaurant that can accommodate you and your huge party if needed, alot of food choices on menu. CONS: Food is mediocre, nothing exceptional. Service is extremely long if you have a big party with you. Server does not check on you frequently. You get charged for extra sauce/marinara dip on the side with your entree. Absurd! Just an average bar/restaurant to hang out at, nothing too fancy or memorable.

Great cocktails and my girl liked her pulled pork BBQ burger. I thought the fish tacos were bland but I liked several of the drinks on the menu.

When I lived in Richmond this was where me and coworkers went for happy hour each week. This was almost three years ago now. I have only been to the one down the street a few times in the last couple of years. The happy hour is not as good as it used to be. They used to have half price appetizers on just about all small plates and now they have reduced it select items which unfortunately are none of my favorite items. Happy hour is still good though. All martinis are $5; $4 on all wines and $3 on beer (I believe they are 12oz). Half price on flat breads, boneless wings, chip and dip trio, calamari, chicken quesadillas, brusseta and a couple other items I fail to recall. This is a cool establishment and it does have a patio. Service is always good. The food is always good. The burgers are just OK. I like the calamari, brusseta, bone-in wings, quesidillas and the nachos are by far my favorite. I didn't notice the crab cake sliders or goat cheese dip on the menu any longer. This is a really good place for large groups and it is such a spacious bar that you don't ever feel cramped with your large party no matter how busy they are.

I live close by and have been wanting to visit for a while. Well last night i did. And now i realize that i wasn't missing much. The drinks are over priced and the food wasn't even mediocre. It's a seat yourself kinda place, which is fine, except when we got there, there was plenty of tables to sit, but all were dirty. I stood next to one for a good 10 minutes before someone came by to clean it off. I ordered season shrimp lettuce wraps. Which were so salty, I could barely taste them. And the humus plate we got as an appetizer was so-so as well. There's plenty of restaurants that are way better in the area. Spend your hard earned cash elsewhere.

A group of moms and I stop by Bar Louie about once or twice a month. We drop our daughters off at dance and we generally have about 1 to 2 hours to kill depending on the night. Bar Louie is convenient and never too packed where we've had to wait for a table or a server. You can't beat their happy hour drinks and food prices (we started going there around 10/2013; it would be nice to have a new happy hour appetizer menu) Shawn is the best server there! Had a night where my "go to wine" was out. He recommended another wine...must have been open too long bc it was horrible. He brought another wine for me to taste....so patient. Always says HI to us when we come in.

Usually only go there on Tuesday for $5 burger night or Wednesday for bucket night. Like the food a lot. Only issue is that it can be expensive.

We stopped in here the other night for a couple drinks with friends. First off, the atmosphere is pretty cool. Its very trendy and seemed high-end. I liked the feel of the whole place. I was driving so no brews for me, but it looked like they had a huge selection of beers on tap. We sat in a cool little rounded booth. My wife ordered some fruity sweet delicious looking little drink. She really enjoyed it. Our waitress checked up on frequently and did a great job. So, why a 3-star then if the service was good and the drink seemed ok? Two reasons: One drink cost us $13. Too much. Sorry. Too much. It might be worth it if you threw in a sea breeze and a sandy beach in Bora Bora. But, not here. The second reason is the wretched parking situation. Small tight spots with sharp tight corners. Not well designed or set up.

Update. We went here last Friday night and there was a happy hour, until 7. Hey hey hey, maybe my message is getting through. Now, I just have to go back on a Saturday night to see if they really have learned anything. The service was good, as usual, the place was not slammed but had a good crowd. I do like the fact that they have a family restroom (good for people with kids like me). I am upping my rating by a star cause they deserve it. If you live in Westminster, Bar Louie is definitally worth checking out, maybe just not on a Saturday night.

So here's a menu update from my previous review... There's a set menu of appetizers half off for happy hour, and beers are happy hour price too! Also, the pretzel sticks aren't as good as the ones they used to have, but they are sufficient I guess. I love meeting up with friends here because there's so many beers to choose from, and there's always a sport to watch on one of their many TVs. I also LOVE the mac n cheese with bacon of course. Everything is awesome with bacon!

Every time I have been here, it has taken forever to order and get food - and even longer to get the bill and get settled up. The last straw was last night when my wife and I walked in and waited for nearly 5 minutes at the front as staff whizzed by us. Only toward the end someone strolled out from the kitchen and said that it was "open seating but it didnt look like there was anywhere" for us to sit. Turns out, there was plenty of room for us to sit at one of the other nearby restaurants. This place is in severe need of someone to manage the staff and make sure people are greeted as soon as they come in.

This place is a lot better than it was when it first opened. First the good: The service has been great the last few times I've gone, even when it got really busy. The tap selection and drink menu are both really varied and selection shouldn't be a problem. They have a strong happy hour deal and the $5 burgers/fries on Tuesdays is AMAZING. My burgers have been awesome and I would've happily paid $10-12, but if I can get the same thing for $5, even better. The only real knock is that even though the burgers are great, the appetizers and other dishes have been hit or miss. I would definitely steer well clear of the wings and there is a fair amount of inconsistency with the other options. Good place for a happy hour or a few drinks with friends, a little less recommended if you're looking for a great dining experience.

Awesome drink and food specials if you sign up for their club. The appetizers are always amazing, and for a bar, it has a rather good variety of food. Try the sesame encrusted ahi burger- delicious! The mac and cheese is pretty good too- definitely a diet killer. The only thing bad about this place is that it tends to be very noisy due to the open floor plan. But it's got an amazing selection of beers and liquor on tap and that helps ease the earache. :) Verdict: Deep booths and deep drinks- great for a casual hang out.

There are few places who serve wings "en fuego" and Bar Louie is one of them. The guy to talk to is Mikey, the handlebar mustachioed bartender, whose tolerance includes a burger with two jalapenos, two habaneros, and two ghost peppers. With some local IPAs to wash down the habanero sauce-coated Boneless Wings, my experience is a 5 stars.

I hate giving 1 star reviews, but Bar Louie honestly doesn't even deserve that. Alicia H and I decided at the last minute to grab a bite to eat and see Black Swan. Even though Black Swan was playing around the corner from me at the Mayan, and even though there are many faboo restaurants on Broadway, we decided I'd come out to Westminster since she came out to Denver last time. Our server, was lousy. We asked for a couple of minutes to look over the menu, but that we also had to get out of there by 7:30 and a couple of minutes turned into 10. I finally went up to the hostess and asked her to find our server because we were ready to order. She came to take our order and informed me that it would take 20 minutes to get the dish I wanted. Which meant I'd have 10 minutes to shovel it in and pay the bill. Not okay. So she offered to get the manager. Our server comes over finally. Turns out he's the manager. We order and opt for apps (we both got quesadillas) to make sure we can get out in time. Glad we did because the food was mediocre. After all that, the manager only removed my diet coke from the bill, no real effort to make us happy. Thank goodness Alicia H. is 5 stars, because it made up for the lousy dining experience.

Went here after going to the Mad Cap comedy club nearby. It's a fairly large bar and restaurant, and was pretty good overall. I had the bruschetta appetizer, and I really enjoyed it. And my drinks were quite good too. They have some great specialty drink selections. The service wasn't quite as good, had to wave our server down to order food and we had to wait a little while for a table, but there was a fairly large group of us so that's not too unexpected.

I'm happy to up my review to 3 stars. After discovering the place is under new management our happy hour experience there was MUCH better than previous times. We were waited on promptly, our drinks came quickly, and our server was friendly & helpful. Fantastic improvement!

Good food, good beer, very mediocre service. Like I'll bet a lot of people do, I stopped in here before a movie at the nearby AMC for a bite and a beer. I usually go to Rock Bottom, but a friend suggested it and having never been, I decided to try it out. The dining room itself is quite nice, with tall ceilings, a large wrap around bar, and well spaced tables. There are pool tables and a few arcade games in one of the corners. Food wise, I decided to go for a regular cheese quesadilla (listed as an appetizer, but big enough for dinner) and beer wise, I went for New Belgium's seasonal tap beer. I do have to say, I was really impressed with the amount and variety of beers on tap they featured. Unfortunately, the service just wasn't good. Our server didn't appear much, and when she did, she seemed oddly bored or irritated. We didn't have any extra special requests and we didn't make things hard, so I'm not sure what the attitude was for. I also found out when I got home and looked at my bank statement that they charged me twice, and the 2nd charge didn't disappear after it was "pending", like it should (I've had it happen at other restaurants before). So unfortunately, really poor service soured the whole experience and overshadowed what was some good food and good beer. Next time, I'll just go to Rock Bottom.

This is my go-to happy hour spot. I work in the service industry myself and I get off late, but this place is right by my house. Ryan, the bartender, always provides excellent service. I have tried other cocktails here as well but the orange mule is my favorite. Moscow mules are my favorite cocktail, so the menu description of this 'classic mule with blood orange liqueur' immediately got my attention. It's a very refreshing change from a traditional mule! Now every time I come in I can't order anything else. Bar Louie does have a service industry or SIN discount, so I take advantage of that as well. Their kitchen takes orders until 1:30, another plus. I have tried a few of the appetizers and though I was not 'wowed' by any of them I still love that fact that it is served so late. The quesadilla with chicken is what I would recommend, and I suggest that you stay away from the calamari. This place is right by my house. When I move to the other end of town I am sure going to miss it!!

Appetizers need work, over priced and no WOW factor, got the chips and what they called salsa all I can say is that it was red had an odd flavor I'm all for trying new things but yuck its hard to believe anyone could mess up chips and salsa but they did. pretzels, I just don't know what to say except don't get them. I agree with the other Yelpers out there?sit at the bar the bartender Ryan will actually acknowledge that you are there he's great. Our waitress if you could call her that had no personality at all, if your going to work at a bar as a waitress GET ONE!!!!!you might get some tips other than get a personality. Don't go here for the big game I think you will be very Disappointed. Won't go back to this place.

Service is fine, but the drinks here are watered down and food is undercooked compared with other bar Louis. We ordered a straight shot of something that we drink regularly and can totally tell.

Let me begin by saying this is about my 8th time to a Bar Louie on a national scale, and my 5th time to this location. The last time I visited this location was probably 1 year ago. We have always had decent food, except this time. We wanted to bring our out-of-town guests somewhere with semi-healthy food, that would appeal to many different tastes. We walked in and there were about 2 other tables. Strange, this place is deserted. Our server was kind, fairly prompt, not too shabby. Our party of 8 placed our orders, all different menu items, and about 15 minutes later, the server came back, and said they were out of 5 of the 8 entrees we ordered!! Being out of 1 or 2 things, it happens on a busy night, but being out of 5 different entrees when the place is deserted, makes you wonder. The server apologized and said she would give us a discount on our meal. Ok, no harm done. Aside from the frozen berries on my salad and on another, the "Tortilla Strips" actually being the mashed bottom of the bag corn chips, the food they had in stock was good. When the bill came, the compensation for being out of 5 entrees? $8 off. I will interject that my Mango Mojito was a $10 drink. They could have done much better, in fact, a round of free drinks could have changed our mindset, but now that I think about it, we had no manager visit our table, no kitchen apologies. Just our poor little server girl having to deliver bad news. It was pretty embarrassing for us as entertainers of guests from out of town too. I hope this was a one time occurrence, however, I won't be back to this location to find out if they could do better next time.

Service was great. It has a corporate chain feel but at the same time its a huge venue, lots of tables and the music isn't so load that you can't talk. This location is nice if you want a drink prior to a movie. They also serve 40+ beers and offer a nice "small plate" menu. Funky odor in front bar area. Smelled like old beer or mold not really sure.

I've been to many-a-Bar Louie over the years, and have never been a big fan. I've been to this specific location twice in the past few months and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The first time, we went on a Thursday and it happened to be ladies night. Apparently at Bar Louie this means 1/2 priced martinis and 1/2 priced bottles of wine. These days, lots of places offer half price bottles of wine - but this was particularly awesome, b/c the Pinot Grigio I was drinking was $18 a bottle. As soon as 9 pm rolled around and ladies night started, it was $9 a bottle. Talk about a cheap date! We've also sampled some appetizers, and found that the best by far are the boneless wings. The portion is HUGE. And during happy hour they're ridiculously cheap - I think maybe $4 - $5. They were crispy and tender without being overly breaded. I seriously think next time I need a boneless wing fix, this will be the place! All in all, worthwhile to stop in on occasion for a drink and a snack.

I have been to this location a couple of times. The first time the response times and attitude of the server were less than desirable, but not horrible and the food was so-so. I was disappointed they would not let us mix-and-match the small taco platter even with an up charge [shrug]. But the second time I went in was a Sunday afternoon and it was very slow. The waitress was fairly courteous and although we had about 12 people in the party, 6 dishes came out in approximately 20 minutes which was acceptable but the other 6 took about an hour - very unacceptable. Upon speaking with the manager she was fairly stand-off-ish but did offer to take 50% off the bill for those dishes that were an hour wait. Upon receipt of the ticket, she only discounted the meal of the member of our group who complained and would not acknowledge the fact that she reneged her offer. I swore I would never go back but did recently have a pleasant experience in the Southglenn location. I'm not hard to please but with a lack of concern from management and a wealth of excuses, I gather mine was not an isolated instance. NOTE - this was about 4 months prior to date of this posting so perhaps they've made adjustments since.

Consistent food choices, large beer selection, tater tots on the menu, seriously how could it be better! We were in need of some place for dinner on a Saturday night at 5pm. Who knew all of Westmister and beyond eats so early on a weekend night. This was the one place where we were able to just walk right in, get a seat, get served and get out! The place is huge! Plenty of seating! I got blackened po-boy and it was just ok. It didn't come with tartar sauce and didn't really satisfy me. I like the place, super big, plenty of seating, friendly staff. I would stick with appetizers and beverages next time though.

I had a chat with the new manager about a month ago and he told me they're really cleaning house. The old management is gone and they're cracking down on the slacking. It hasn't come completely around yet but you can see the improvements. The most noticeable change is that you get waited on almost immediately. The bartenders are friendly and efficient and the waitresses really hustle. The food continues to be good, especially the burgers. They have a lot of variety and the portions are big. I had a party of 23 tonight with a reservation at Rock Bottom but when we got there they seem to have forgotten about it. So we went to Bar Louie instead and the manager immediately found a place for us. He even stopped by during dinner to make sure everyone was happy, which was a really nice touch. That was another improvement. The music was good, and it was loud but not too loud. Chalk that one up as another improvement. And the servers actually seem happy again. It hasn't been that way for ages. That must mean something. I hope that they keep making improvements and business keeps picking up. The vibe has even improved and we'll be back.

Went to a corporate event here recently. They have a lot of big screens around the bar for sports watchers. The layout is pretty open so the noise level can get kind of loud. They have a nice patio too. The food was good, humas, sliders, calamari decent bar fare. A good place for groups.

After a horrible experience at the Bar at Northfield, I was hesitant when my best friend wanted to do her 40th birthday here. The staff was ok, not overly friendly, again the prices of drinks are INSANE! They do not offer pitchers of beer nor any drink specials on the Friday night we went. So never going back to this place no matter where it is. There are far better experiences out there for far less dough.

Ok Bar Louie, I'm impressed. I have to say, I wasn't expecting much. I came here on Wednesday for happy hour with a bunch of coworkers. Usually our big group seems to annoy the servers at the places we go to, but Robin was a champ. She was sweet, funny, and attentive, even though by the time we left we had been there for almost 5 hours. That's right. FIVE HOURS. I can't remember the last time I went out for happy hour and got home around 10. We had some yummy (but sweet! - watch out!) drinks, including the Mason/Dixon and Samba which were both favorites. We ordered appetizers for the table and loved the jalapeno-cheddar corndogs so much that we got two more orders. So much in fact, that someone actually took the last one home. All in all, I had a great time, with good food, good drinks, and good company. You can't get that everywhere, especially in Westminster.

Obviously I have a certain perspective. We all do, based on everything from gender to socialization to how we might feel on a given day. That being said, each time I have had the misfortune of going to this place, it being so close to the office, I have felt incredibly uncomfortable. Can't put my finger on it. Just know that it isnt a place where I feel welcomed. So pish posh on them. And boo!

Blaghhah. That is the only "word" to describe Bar Louie. This review is solely based on the drinks. I was amazed of how big the place was. It's like Costco opened a bar. The bar itself is huge and there is plenty seating. We decided to try some of their "specialty" drinks. 1st drink- Starry night. A licorice concoction of nastiness. After we ordered the drink and expressed our distaste, our waitress told us nobody likes it. WTF?? How about tell us before we order it??? The rest of the drinks were consistently awful and were 10 bucks a pop. The waitress did comp us for the licorice disaster which was pretty cool. Despite the drinks I would like to go back and try the food but I'll be drinking at Rock Bottom before I go.

After reading the other reviews, I was expecting to be disappointed by this place, but I was not. We were there on a Friday night, with a huge party. Our server was very attentive, remembered all of our drink orders, and was on top of us the whole evening! Decor is funky and cool, and they weren't crowded for after work on a Friday. Great happy hour- drink specials, 1/2 off apps, etc. They have 40+ beers on tap, some of which you'd be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. However, my only critique is that it was freaking HOT in there. Not sure why, but we were all sweaty by the time we left. We tried the calamari- buffalo style- and the ahi tuna. Both were delicious, but definitely try that buffalo calamari! Tasty vittles!

Bar Louie tends to be our HH place of choice after work. Big ups to the staff as they start making my drink when they see me walk in the door. They have a good HH special on appetizers and decent drink prices. The Humus and nachos are pretty good. Like Lisa O's review, we always end up staying for around 5 hrs.

Bar Louie has gone downhill for sure. The service is well below par, our food came out cold, and the waitress even forgot to give us silverware! When we asked for some, she said he would get it since our food was sitting in front of us and a few minutes later she hadn't returned. We had to get up and remind her to get some. Totally unacceptable. We used to go here more often, each time a bit worse than the last time, but we won't be going back. At the end of the day, we would rather go to Rock Bottom next door where the food and the service are better.

Seems like a volatile place based on the mix of reviews, but I'm a fan. Considering I'm living in Westminster, I like the vibe here. The tvs are great, they have a wide selection of tap beers, and I think the menu is pretty standard with a couple upscale twists. It won't blow you away, but it's a taste of downtown up in the burbs and I enjoy it. It always has seating available and the waitstaff are friendly.

Bar Louie is a great place to have a couple of adult beverages, eat creative yet mediocre bar food, and watch some sports. The drink menu is extensive and contains several creative martini creations, cocktails, and a lot of beer and wine choices.Unfortunately, if you want a fun cocktail or martini and you are outside of happy hour, expect to pay double digits per drink. When you drink whatever is on special, it's not completely overpriced. As for the food, I have tried several menu items including the veggie wrap, the hummus plate, a quesadilla, the burgers with a veggie patty substituted, and macaroni and cheese. So far it's all been quite bland and disappointing. I need fla-va! The atmosphere of Bar Louie is solid. I tend to go back, despite the food, because it feels like the happenin' spot in the thrilling town of Westminster. They have big, comfy booths and great televisions to watch sports, if you're in to that. The service is above average. Pretty much, if you're looking for somewhere to go with friends in Westminster, Bar Louie is about as good as it gets...indicating to me that I need to keep looking.

Just have the smothered tater tots. And the mini bacon cheeseburgers. And the chicken nachos. Oh okay, and a beer or glass of wine. With happy hour prices and portion sizes and taste.....this is a win-win!

We went to Bar Louie last Friday. We scored a semi-circle booth, and the place was busy. I kidded our server, Jacque, about all the dudes in the place. Naturally, with that many guys, I thought there would be strippers. "Nope", she said, "but they have Go-Go dancers at Que Bueno." (located about 100 feet west of Bar Louie). Still, we stayed. A lady friend and I ordered Belvedere Vodka Martinis ($7); my other lady friend ordered a coffee-whiskey drink (GAK!). After a few--or six--we ordered the Chicken Nachos appetizer ($10), and I ordered the Asian Sesame Tuna ($15) for my main course. The ladies ordered some main dishes too, but I was pretty trashed by then, so I don't remember. Anyway, the appetizer came with the meals, so the manager took it off our bill! NICE! The food is good, the atmosphere is great, but there is a lot of guys. If you're a lady: It's Ladies Choice! If you're a guy: Go down to Que Bueno! During the meal, we did 2 rounds of shooters and added some wine. Again, Jacque, our Server was wonderful! Witty, intelligent, and very attentive--ask for her! Total tab at the end of the night: $189 for 3 people (not including tip). Yeah, it was more than I expected, but again, it was a great evening! I'm taking away 2 stars: 1 for the prices, and 1 for the dude-to-lady ratio. Still, we had a great time and will probably return this weekend!

Bar Louie is pretty cool. Large restaurant with neat decorations. Music is good too (at least when we went on a Saturday night). I think it would be a good idea for the restaurant to have a dancefloor for those weekend nights - might boost business too. Anyway, we sat at the bar, had a few drinks, ate nachos, and had a great time. Serve was great too. They have a LARGE selection of draft beer - wow! Highly recommended!

I'm glad I didn't read the reviews on here before some friends dragged me in after catching a movie. We caught the late night happy hour so it wasn't too expensive. Plus, I'm more of beer drinker anyway so cocktail prices aren't usually a problem. I had the fish and chips and while they weren't spectacular, it was usual pub fair that satisfied my grease craving. The service wasn't anything to write home about but they were timely and friendly enough. Like I said, I probably wouldn't have gone there by looking at these reviews on here. But if you want a regular bar with a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of seating and TVs, this place is just fine.

My experience at Bar Louie wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. My biggest complaint is that thier drinks are way overpriced. We had two drinks that were ok, but nowhere near worth the $10 per drink price tag that was attached. Service was good, and food was okay. Atmosphere is modern leaning toward pretentious. I'd consider coming back for drinks if they drop their prices.

Some of the worst service I have had in a loooooooong time! It took at least 20 minutes for a server to even come to our table to great us, and then another 15 minutes for her to even bring us our drinks! We actually had to go up to the bar ourselves to get drinks because of how long it was taking our server. Our food only took about 50 minutes to arrive at our table! There were also plates and dishes all over the tables around us, long after those customers had already left! Unreal! Wont be back there again! Thanks for nothing! The bad part is the food is actually pretty good. Too bad.

The beer was cold but unfortunately so was the soup. The waitress was very enoyed that I asked for it to be remicrowaved but what was astonishing was I was in there at 2pm on a Sunday and the bathrooms had not been cleaned from the night before. Thats assuming there hadn't been a drunken vomit and excrement hurling compettition earlier that day, maybe for those who find church "just too far out there".

Bar Louie, I have one question for you. Have you ever hear the phrase, "people come for the food, but they stay for the service"? Typically, that's one of the first things restaurants teach their employees while training, but clearly you've over looked this. I like the food at Bar Louie, I think it's great especially for bar food. The mac n' cheese is phenomenal, it easily competes with Dazzle who has been voted best mac n' cheese. I know that I can order anything on the menu and be very pleased. The Honeydew martini is my favorite cocktail there, but their mojitos and other cocktails are great. Plus they've got endless beers on tap, which makes my boyfriend feel like a kid in a candy store. On top of it all Bar Louie has one of the best happy hours in the area! None of these things excuse the horrible service however. I've sat in booths, I've sat at the bar, and it's all the same. I don't know what the problem is, but I'm not going to continue to go to a bar where I feel ignored. I'm sure I'll be back, someday, I'm not one to hold grudges... maybe then you'll prove me wrong.

In a universe parallel to this one, there's a night where you can wear a suit out to a place called Bar Louie and not feel like a pretentious tool. The jazz band will be just starting to cook. Mobsters and sluggers and celebs cluster in semicircular booths, the cigarette girl winks, and the bartender crushes you with a zinger as you sit down to your drink. But this is Bar Louie in Whiteminster, Colorado, one of dozens nationwide. My pal David, who is staying with me for a few weeks before leaving for South Korea, strolls in around 11 and says we should go out for a nightcap at "that one place." He's wearing a gray suit with a white oxford. Is he remaining suited, I ask him. He is. I hop into a tan suit and we're out into the summer air. The place is so cavernous that even the Saturday night crowd, bolstered with the late arrival of gleeful stragglers from a nearby wedding reception, is no match for the sheer square footage. It would take a hell of a body count to make this place jump. As it is, the immense rectangular bar is lined with folk, a 3:1 male-to-female ratio, more anecdotal reinforcement of the dreaded "Menver" legend. Any two women who sit down are immediately surrounded by a copse of beefy cats with tribal tats and loud graphic tees, throwing game like Randy Johnson, hard and fast. David and I settle onto some barstools, preparing to receive a stream of Jim Beam Bourbon Presses that are well-mixed and come from a fairly attentive bar staff. I'm feeling snacky, so I order the thing least likely to succeed from Bar Louie's sprawling menu: the Oriental Chicken Pizza. It's a thin, 8" pie with cheese, chicken, pineapple and onions on top of a Szechuan sauce that actually leaves a pleasant around-the-mouth heat in its wake. It works. And so does the liquor, as we migrate to the patio to chain smoke and talk up a traveling alarm system rep who is wearing one of the coolest hats I've ever seen. A DJ -- a DJ inasmuch as he is there, in the building, playing songs -- spins Top 40 rap, interrupting the mood at one point to editorialize with Lee Greenwood's mawkish and insufferable "God Bless the U.S.A." I keep scanning the crowd while it plays, trying not to think about it too hard. The '50s nightlife prints on the wall are windows that I'd like to crawl through and leave this room, this whole era, behind. But David shrugs and says, "It's Westminster. It is what it is." So we order another two Bourbon Presses and watch, letting the room simmer on its own terms, floating the occasional quip and waiting for the next thing to happen.

I wouldn't say this is anything special but my wife, daughter and I stopped there for a late lunch yesterday. I ordered the Blackened Po' Boy sandwich and my wife ordered the cheeseburger sliders. I really liked the Po' Boy as the fish was broiled to perfection though I'm not sure if the side of olive "relish" really added to the sandwich. My wife's sliders were a bit dry and definitely over priced for the value though they are probably nice to share when your with a group that has been drinking for awhile. The hit for me was a the Berry Mojito. This is not a drink that will get you buzzed with one glass but it definitely was a nice refreshment to have on a 95 degree day. I'll go back but I won't go out of may to come here again.

First off, everything about this place screams "Hi! I'm a bar located in a weird mall-like sitch located a few steps down from AMC 24!". Really- I swear I heard that as I walked in. It's like, they built the movie theater, and then surrounded it with random restaurants to make it seem like THIS was the place to be and all your social needs will be met right here.Um, really, really not. You'll pay up the wazoo (I don't think I've ever written that phrase before) for anything top-shelf, otherwise the drinks are crap, including their oh-so-pretentious drink menu. Plus, I've been there twice and it's always creepy-empty. How fun is that? Sampled the bruschetta, sliders, and the obligatory spinach dip. They all tasted the same. For reals- put a blindfold on me, and, except for texture, the dip could've been a slider. Maybe it was the gross amount of garlic that was obviously added to over compensate for the complete lack of thought and creativity? Here's a funny tale- the "bruschetta" came out like this- a big bowl of chopped tomatoes (and garlic! don't forget the garlic!) that you scooped onto the cold, flabby bread. Yum yum! And oh yeah- I ordered a glass of sparkling wine (cause I knew they weren't serving no champagne up in here) and got a blank stare from our server. I repeated myself, politely, of course, and she turned and walked away. She had to consult the bartender to find out if they served a sparkling wine. Way to know your drink menu, sister. Yeah, it's a smidge closer than a drive to Denver, and yeah, it's not a chain, but really, really not worth it. Thank baby jesus I'm getting to Denver tonight for, what I KNOW will be a better time food and beverage-wise (Hi Mark and nutella pizza and limoncellos!)!

A simple nod and "we'll be right with you" would have been enough to keep us waiting, but after almost 10 minutes we decided our business wasn't needed or wanted, so we walked out and will likely never walk in there again.

is it just me or is bar louie all about first impressions and then they just don't care???? when Bar louie first opened i would have liked to give it 5 stars easily! but then something went south.... i remember they use to have navan on the shelf and it seemed like there food prices could not be beat and there service was great! the general manager even is required to get behind the bar and start helping when it is extremely busy... but the last few times i went there i have been let down with slow or poor service, spent 48$ on 3 drinks and buffalo calamari.....

Food's not very good in my opinion, but the beer selection makes up for that. I'd go back here again, but just to drink some beers. Service was ok.

Went to Bar Louie for the first time because we were given a gift certificate. The service here was impeccable. Extremely professional, gracious, and very accommodating. There was an issue with our gift certificate, and as it was a gift we didn't have any receipt or proof of purchase. The manager handled the situation with such grace and generosity that his customer service alone is enough for us to return. The food was fine- standard bar fare with a little oomph. The restaurant was clean, and our wait-person was very attentive and kind, despite the gift certificate snafu. Great work, guys!

It's a sad day when there is NO one in this bar and we came into watch a football game and they would NOT turn up the volume on the TV cause it's a corporate rule!! Guess what you lost a customer!!!! Shame on you!!!

And boo!
