We were looking for somewhere close to our hotel but with a different variety of choices. This was the most excellent choice! We started with zucchini parmesan appetizer- excellent! There were three of us and had three different meals: Mediterranean pasta -amazing! Greek gyro- yummy and the Mesut burger. To finish off the meal we had dessert Pelins Tatli which was a phenomenal melt in your mouth huge piece covered with cocoa powder. Highly recommend coming here! The owner/ cook is super friendly and gave us some wonderful service.

I am so glad that there is a non chain breakfast place in this area! As a big brunch foodie, I was searching for brunch/breakfast places in the Arvada area. I can see how this place could be overlooked if you don't yelp it since its hidden in a desolate strip mall. This place used to be in downtown on 16th street mall which I used to go to for the fresh Mediterranean salad bar. I did not know they had moved locations when we came here so I was pleasantly surprised. The coffee is good. Dark, smooth, medium body. We got the French toast with fresh fruit and the Mediterranean sandwiches. I highly recommend the sandwiches. Grilled green peppers and tomatoes, egg and feta cheese on a bagel. Delicious! The French toast was not overly sweet which I enjoyed. I feel like most restaurants French toasts are too sweet. The two men working there were so nice and sweet. Since there were only two men working, service was a little slower. We weren't in a rush so that was ok but if you're looking for quick service, just a tip.

Had to update. Gyro was FANTASTIC!!! No words to describe how amazing and melt in your mouth good it was!!!!

Great breakfasts. Nice atmosphere. Good service. I want to to back again. The Mediterranean Omelette is delicious.

Absolutely a wonderful surprise. The food and ambiance are what you expect. It was fabulous. The owner was so nice and made you feel like family. It's very manly but you do feel like you're up in the mountains.

Nice to discover a new lunch spot near my work. The decor is simple but nice, with the wooden floors and various skis propped against the wall. Service was a little bit on the slow side since they seemed a tad understaffed, but I suspect that's because the place is still pretty new as of my visit and they didn't seem to have much of a regular crowd yet. I ordered Mesut's Burger - a cheeseburger with gyro meat and topped with caramelized onions and served with tzatziki sauce. At first I thought the burgers were a little on the pricey side, but when it was delivered I realized that it was actually a ton of food for the price. The plating was very elegant which made it all seem a bit more upscale. And the burger was positively delicious. Overall I'd recommend the place and am planning on coming back here for lunch soon.

This place is awesome, I took a friend from out of town and he couldn't get enough of this place. We will probably end up going back while he is visiting. I got a breakfast sandwich which was the best food I have ever had, it was fresh and perfectly cooked. The chef came out and suggested what he thought was the best on the menu and said goodbye before we left and made sure we enjoyed our meal. The atmosphere was great, they had live music when we were there which was also enjoyable. This place seems very chill and definitely a hidden gem in Westminster.

In short, if you're a fan of Mediterranean food, specifically Turkish, you should stop by and try it out. The Mediterranean plates are great, and the service is sweet. The rest of the menu is kind of like that Seinfeld episode about the World Cafe. We tried a bunch of different items, the kinds of foods that fat Americans love, and the quality just wasn't as good as the actual Turkish dishes. So skip the fried calamari, jalapeno poppers, etc. Now that you know what to order, just make sure you go on a cool night. We went on a somewhat toasty day, maybe 80 degrees outside, and the restaurant was burning up inside. It was almost unbearable, and no A/C was on.

Wow! This place is awesome! Great food (I had the kafte plate)! And great service too! I highly recommend it!

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon. The atmosphere is just off. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer. No tap beers. The college football games were on the TV's but the sound was turned down. Christmas music was very lightly playing instead. I ordered the gyro sandwich. It was pretty good. Service was friendly and the food was average. It is right in my neighborhood so I might return and give it another go.
(3)Justin S.
The food is still excellent but it's just not worth the wait anymore without Mesut, the owner and chef, walking around talking to tables and customers. The place has lost its personality while Mesut now stays in the kitchen, slaving over gyro meat. I would remove another half star as a seven person table who ordered after my two person table just got served!

Don't judge a book from its cover when you see the exterior or location. The service feels like you're in a foreign land (in a good way), and the food will make you want to really visit that place. Had a soup,1/2 pound Burger with onion rings, and a dessert for $10! Come on! Can't wait to return.

Ate breakfast there this morning after driving past the place for 8 months now. Loved breakfast and the homey atmosphere and how often do you get the cook to deliver your food to the table to you. Husband had Mexican omelette and I had scrambled eggs and gyro which were both really tasty. Will definitely go back again to try other items on the menu. Make sure to bring cash as there were signs all around that they only take cash.

As Jack D points out -- to say that this place and the owner are eclectic is an understatement. The owner Masut (name pronounced - Me Suit) is Turkish and lives a laid back lifestyle. He is proud of his restaurant, his food, his national origin, and the American Dream. His food is good, but you need not be in a hurry. The menu is diverse serving everything from Turkish, American and Mexican. He proudly touts this place as a coffee shop, but only after 9AM, so not necessarily for the early risers as one might expect. He takes time to prepare each plate, fresh and solely by his hands. He likes to present it to you and talk to you about it. I admit, the food is good, and he is great company. But sometimes, you just want to order, eat and leave. The latter cannot be done easily at Aspen Lodge. He likes to talk while you eat. Recently, I stopped by and the place was closed. A note on the door states that there will be a Re-Grand Opening sometime in the future. Masut is an interesting fellow, and I hope that he makes it when he reopens. A few things that he might consider is that coffee is best served EARLY, by 9 - 10 most of that crowd is working. Talk to the people (like myself) at the bar, the others, at tables, may just want to eat and run. If you meet Masut, you will wish that you could just be that free and live carefree like some of our European friends. If confused by reading my review, just come eat here, you will get it. You may need to call first and make sure that he is open.
(3)Christopher J.
YOU NEED TO EAT HERE!!!!! The Mesut's Burger is probably the best burger in the universe! Also try the Med wrap and the Gyro Salad! Why are you still reading this? Go eat at the Aspen Lodge!

Most of the reviews sum this place up very nicely, so I'll keep it relatively short. I came in with my brother-in-law on a Saturday at 4 pm and there was just one person working, the chef/owner/server/bartender. Like others have said, he is very friendly and you can tell how passionate he is about his food. He gave me a high five after I told him he served me the best gyro I've ever had, which is true. It was incredibly fresh and perfectly sauced, built, and seasoned. I'd love to try more of the menu, but it would be hard to pass up that gyro. I also ordered a side of grilled veggies, which for my taste, were perfect after adding a touch of salt. The outside appearance looks like as all strip mall place, but inside its spacious and looks like a great après ski lodge (as the name implies). If you're in the area and not in a hurry, I'd recommend coming by. Great place to relax and unwind. Several TVs at the bar. Beautiful wood tables and floors. Looks like they have live music at times as well. Last minor drawback is there's no beer on tap, but there is a good selection of bottled beers. I live in Seattle, but I'll try and come in every time I visit my sister from here on out. I know my brother-in-law will be coming by again.
(4)Tara A.
This place is awesome! Breakfast was delicious and there was no crowd. The staff is super personal. We were a little turned off when we first pulled in because it's in a strip mall but that turned around as soon as we walked in. A must try!

I'm happy that another little restaurant has opened up in this quiet little strip mall. Aspen Lodge feels a bit like a lodge inside and is in the process of being decorated into a comfortable, homey spot to hang out. So far we've only tried out breakfast. Aspen Lodge specialty items for breakfast are the breakfast burrito and their breakfast sandwich. We ordered the smothered breakfast burrito and the Turkish platter. The green chile was full of flavor and almost tasted a bit more like a red chile and included a good spiciness. The Turkish platter is served with an egg, sliced tomato, cucumber, feta cheese, some bread and your choice of honey or jam. I chose the honey which was delicious on the bread. We sat at the bar and talked to the owner a bit and enjoyed the live music on Saturday morning. The bar has a couple of flat screen TVs as well if you're coming to catch a game. The coffee at Aspen Lodge is reason enough to stop in. Reasonably priced and flavorful. Anyone who lives in the area should stop at Aspen Lodge instead of Starbucks for their morning coffee. Menu options for lunch and dinner include a variety of Mediterranean type dishes, traditional American sandwiches and burgers, as well as a selection of Mexican plates. Breakfast prices are average - though a little on the high side for the Turkish platter - for $7.50 the quantity of fresh vegetables offered was a little less than I'd expect. However, we will definitely be back to help support and hopefully this place gets off the ground and turns into a great option to complement Cracovia next door.

I have eaten here the last two Sundays for breakfast and there is nothing better around . Inexpensive very tasty and warm owner and staff ... Don't waste your money at those chain breakfast eateries , stop in here you'll be glad you did
(5)Matt P.
I have only eaten breakfast here. However, it is some of the best food you can find in the area. The Pancakes with Fruit ia huge and fresh. The Aspen Scramble with Summer Sausage gives you cravings for more, and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. The head chef is super friendly, and its an all around slam dunk. The only down fall I see is the price, as compared to most breakfast restaurants it is a little high, but it probably is worth the price.

Good food and great service during our dinner time visit. Would like to try brunch and lunch next time. I had the chicken schnitzel with real french fries and it was good. My wife really like her gyro. Seems like a good family place. They also have a bandstand and local musicians were setting up as we were finishing. Good desserts too.

Very good, glad to see we have new and different types of food / restaurants in the neighborhood. Good food, good people, nice atmosphere... We'll be back for more....

Okay, so I spaced the phone out otherwise I would have given a blow by blow check-in account of my interesting dining experience at this very unusual spot. The place looks small, very small from the outside but is actually a good sized space on the inside. I noticed there was a couple of tables and a large group and some customers at the bar when we walked in. There wasn't anybody that looked front-of-house in the dining area. Just a couple of kitchen guys and a guy in a sweatshirt behind the bar. Sweatshirt guy came out and handed us a couple menus and said, "I don't work here, I'm just a customer. Sit wherever you'd like. Can I get you something to drink?". Uhhh. Coffee? and some waters please. "This is a neighborhood place and is definitely not fast food but everyone feels at home here.". We both look at each other with puzzled looks on our faces. To me that instantly means this is going to take forever. He's back and giving us menu suggestions. Sweatshirt guy is probably in his 50's, all gray with thinning hair, big guy but looks to be a professional business type. "That City Omelette, even though it says all beef wiener it's not. It's some sort of beef sausage and the french toast is amazing.". The wife asks him what he likes. "Well I'm eating a Mediterranean Sandwich right now but I like everything I've eaten here. Are you ready to order?" Puzzled looks. Wife goes for the French Toast and I go for the City Omelette and sweatshirt guy writes our order down and goes back to the bar and is eating his I guess Mediterranean sandwich. Very strange. An Asian woman that had been sitting with sweatshirt guy and left returns with two gallons of milk and leaves again. Is this a co-op? I recognize the owner/chef from a now defunct coffee shop from this same area. He looks like a European ski bum but hails from Turkey. I never wrote a review for the place because the guy was cool and I didn't want to rain on his parade. He's very personable and a pretty good cook. The french toast is made with 5 slices of plain white sandwich bread but dusted with cocoa powder and powdered sugar and with some fresh strawberries it was actually pretty good. My City Omelette was topped with hot dog and not the sausage that sweatshirt guy thought it was but, it was cooked in an interesting tomato based sauce and the green peppers and onions omelette and the hash browns they were served with were pretty good. I cleaned my plate. (oh btw I didn't notice on the menu but it came with a flour tortilla? Was there a bread choice? Not complaining just explaining.). The Turk, sweatshirt guy, and the Turk's older rookie assistant Jorge made the rounds pretty frequently but there really needs to be someone dedicated to the front of house I feel for this interesting place to succeed. PS Blues music and ladies night on Wednesday's at 6:00pm. Interesting.

Great place for a well cooked meal. The owner Mesut cooks all the meals and is very friendly. Not the place for a grab and go, have some time to enjoy the meal here.

First off... Hours are wrong on Yelp... But showed up at 4pm when their scotch-taped sign said they would open. Wifey ducked her head in as it looked like they were under construction...adding a coffee shop or something. She asked if they were open.. A quick "no" with no detail and were off to someplace who wants to take our money.

Turkish Food. American Food. Southwest Food. Breakfast Food. This place has everything!
(5)DB T.
Food is really quite good, however I did find it a bit pricy, especially for lunch. I also think the menu is somewhat disjointed but I have to say everything is well prepared and fresh. I have been back a few times and I am finally relieved to find an excellent restaurant in my neighborhood.

Oh wow! My friend took me here the other morning for breakfast--so delicious! I was really skeptical at first, seeing as how this is a bit of a crummy strip mall, but my friend had heard this place was amazing, so I kept an open mind. The decor was actually really cool (especailly for being in such a yucky looking strip mall). It had a lodge feel to it with a full bar and wood flooring, pretty cool. The service-- Wonderful! The man who owns this place is from Turkey. We went in on a Tuesday morning, so it was not busy at all. The owner also waited on us and enjoyed talking with us and even showed us pictures of his hometown in Turkey. Why he ever moved away from such a beautiful place is beyond me, but he was very friendly and very nice to talk to. The Food--well, obviously, it was amazing! I got the Athena Scramble. Oh my, so good. My friend got the breakfast burrito with the green chili, also delicious. I was very impressed with the amount of flavors and varrying styles in each dish. Also very impressed with the prices. Especially for the quality of food and the portion sizes, the price was very reasonable. I plan on going back soon and cannot wait to go for happy hour sometime :)

Awesome food... Great hospitality... Fantastic coffee... Bar/hangout vibe.. Can't wait to go back.
(5)Blair M.
After reading the reviews decided to give it a try to support businesses in our neighborhood. What a disappointment! It tools about 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee but no sugar or cream. After waiting about another 5 minute the one waitress (for 3 tables) took a call on her cell phone. We promptly put money on the table and left, going to village inn instead. Sorry to say I won't be going there again.
(1)Kenneth S.
Great food and happy hour. This family business is tailored to their customers with excellent customer service.
(4)Alice C.
Third time here and loved everything I had. The owner, Masut is wonderful and welcoming!!! The lodge is warm and comfortable. The owner cooks all the food to order and some people complained on yelp about this, but frankly, I would wait for any of this food, any day. Masut makes everything with love. I am truly impressed. Breakfast is served all day and the flavors are amazing on everything we tried thus far. I am so sick of chain restaurants and horrible service. This place gave me hope that people actually care about quality of food and service. Thank you, Masut. I wish you the best of luck with your restaurant! We will be back soon!
(5)Jack D.
To say this place is quirky is an understatement, but it was quirky in a way I really liked. It's an Aspen Lodge themed restaurant/bar that serves breakfast all day, Mexican food and Greek/Mediterranean food. It seems to be trying to be a little bit of everything but it kind of works for the place. The Gyro was very tasty.
(4)Lisa H.
This local restaurant is our new favorite hang out. When you walk in, the owner/chef greets you with the warmest welcome and a huge smile. The restaurant is located in an unimpressive strip mall. The ambiance is a bit unusual, but the casual, clean and comfortable establishment makes you feel right at home. If you're looking for a lightening speed meal and service, you may be disappointed, but if you are looking for a place where food is delicious, the coffee knocks Starbucks' out of the park, the prices are very reasonable, and the hospitality is more than you could ever hope for, than this may just be your new favorite as well.
(4)Caitlin R.
An awesome new place! I hope it will get somegood business because it is very cozy and welcoming. The menu has great variety and many healthy options, including vegetarian options. I went last week and plan on returning this weekend. The owner is very gracious and the food is fresh! Plus the coffee is just how I like it!
(5)M M.
I wanted this place to be good. Slow slow slow service. It was not busy! I can not comment on the food. I did not wait for it. I will give this place one more shot. It is new so..... Today was horrible.
(1)Bear P.
This is a great local find in Westminster that has just opened. Tasty breakfast burrito, homemade green chile, right touch of spice. The owner let us in on little secret - his own wonderful house made potato chips. I can't wait to go back and try his signature Philly Cheese Steak - which seemed odd since he's turkish. A wonderful host and I bet his turkish delights will amaze. They are just completing renovations and bringing a bit of rustic mountain cabin atmosphere to our local scene. Nothing better than supporting a small local business - we wish them the best!
(5)Raven K.
Amazing food with friendly staff!!! Chef came and spoke with us to say hi and make sure our food was good. Bartender is skilled at mixed drinks and both were accommodating and laid back. I definitely recommend this place!
(5)Brian B.
Went there for the first time today. Excellent breakfast and a very friendly owner. I look forward to trying more great foods on the menu!!!
(5)Rob H.
Excellent food, every meal is made by the owner.
(5)Anne S.
My husband and I love eating here! The gyros, the Philly cheese steak, lots of great food. Try this place sometime
(5)Daren M.
I would give Aspen lodge 5 if they had a better beer selection. Food is great and service was friendly. I live close by and will be a frequent customer. The owner even took suggestions to better his bland beer selections (Coors, Corona,Budweiser, etc)
(4)William S.
Beer selection is good; the owner is very eager to hear your preferences in beer and accommodates every request as possible. the food, The Food, THE FOOD!!! - It's truly scrumptious. I've tried to order everything on the menu, even items I normally shy away from. No matter the dish, the first bite brought an involuntary smile to my face. Go easy, else risk becoming an addict!!! Truly good food here, folks.
(5)Pat C.
First time here- great food and great company. The menu seems a bit unusual at first, but be daring and give it a try :) especially the summer sausage with breakfast.
(4)Trish P.
So glad we tried this place! Found it based on Yelp reviews. It is tucked away across the street from American Furniture Warehouse so we would never have stumbled upon it otherwise. The food was amazing- Husband had the smothered burrito and loved it. Daughter had the chocolate chip pancakes which we all had to sample and thought they were divine, especially with their fantastic coffee. I had the City omelette and thought it was delicious. Husband had to help me finish and he also agreed it had a perfect blend of flavors. Great little family owned place with a full bar and excellent food, we will definitely be back to try other items on the menu.
(4)Casey B.
Went here for breakfast and happy to say I was impressed! Menu was affordable and diverse. Most options between $5-$8. Tried the Mediterranean sandwich and the French toast both delicious and generous portions. The coffee was good too, rivaled a standard cup at Starbucks. Had a cozy feel and both the owner and other employee working were very nice and welcoming. Only complaint was because of there being just 2 employees working, service was a little slow when they got busy. There are 3 flat screen TVs behind the bar and I'm planning to go back for dinner n a game. This is a great breakfast place in an area that highly needs one. Go check it out!
