Very Good food! I ordered the chipotle burger (medium) & cup of green chili. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Nice, quiet little hunting town.

What a wonderful place to find at 9pm. Room and food were wonderful.

Wife and I ate here and all the food was quite tasty. I had the small volcano burger and it was more than enough. While it did not make me cry, it was the hottest thing I have eaten in the past few years. You may want the habenero sauce on the side.

I lived in Walden for a few months and this was my favorite restaurant. The French dip is insane. I'm talking so delicious it's addictive. Country-fried steak is one of their famous dishes. The staff are always super friendly and attentive even when slammed (yes, even in a town of 600 they get slammed on occasion). Definitely has the best atmosphere of the restaurants in town. It definitely has a little more of a classy-vibe than anywhere else in town, but everyone is very casual at the same time.

The River Rock Cafe comes as close to fine dining as you are going to get in Walden. I've eaten here several time over the last couple of years and while it may not be the best restaurant in the state, it is sure at the top or close to the top in Walden (see also the review on Moose Creek). Ribs are good, steaks are OK... salads are average. The chicken fried steak was superb. Worth a stop if you're driving through. Haven't tried the hotel but the rooms are intriguing!

Honest ranch style food served with down home charm. Locals frequently are here eating or enjoying a beer with friends. Great place to stop if your traveling through or staying around to enjoy the many outdoor activities Jackson County has to offer.

Very solid breakfast early on a Friday morning in July: I had a ham & cheese omelet (the cheese being a really nice cheddar) while my father had the American breakfast with eggs over-easy and incredibly delicious bacon. Service was great, and the surroundings are really nice...clearly a historic building that has been renovated with plenty of care. Highly recommended if you're spending any time in Walden.
