Thought I'd update this review since I've been back in a few times since my initial visit. The preparation problems that existed the first time have not become a recurring theme. The portions are always generous and the night crew seems to enjoy their work. There's not much else to say--its a well-known greasy spoon with a limited menu that helps them prepare the majority of those menu items properly. Lemonade doesn't come out of a fountain and instead uses a mix. It seemed to be very weak flavor wise.

Took them a while to take my order when I first arrived. The place was not even busy at all when I got there for them not to take my order. The food was amazing as always. But waiting to get my check took for ever. Not only that but I had to get up and ask for a refill on my drinks. I got over charged when it came to my bill. The food was good but customer service needs some work badly. The waitress we had was just try a run out the door even tho her shift wasn't even over Hire better employees

The hash browns are amazing!! I always go smothered, chunked, and diced. Always very busy, but definitely worth the wait. Want to try the chicken and waffles next!

Waffle House is the most underrated restaurant of all time. Delicious, fast, cheap food that will leave you craving. If I lived closer or drove I would come here ALL of the time. This beats any of the pretentious brunch places in Denver, minus the fact that they don't serve alcohol. You will also have a hard time spending more than $10.

Wow. As I recently moved to Colorado from the east coast, I thought Waffle House was all over - it was awesome being able to grab one last meal there on the way to the airport. So, I was pretty blown away when I saw the Pearl Street location here in Thornton...I though the franchise stopped its locations somewhere around Texas, but I guess I was mistaken. Just as good as all the east locations, with the only difference I saw being the thatched red roof outside. I got the opportunity to get the first serving of that big ass pot of grits that were cooking when I first walked in, along with my mainstream pecan waffle, bacon/chicken/cheese sandwich, and large order of jalapeño hash browns. Definitely recommend. Gotta love it.

Ordered a Togo breakfast. They had my food ready within 10 minutes. The ladies were very pleasant and friendly. And by far the best omelet I've had in a long time! I will definitely come back soon!

This is seriously the most undervalued and underrated restaurant in the world. I have paid for high dollar meals across the world and this classic restaurant still ranks among the best for me. The service is always friendly, they have good coffee, their waffles are just dang good and the prices are unbeatable. Call me a sucker for classic American grease food, but this place just flat out rocks!

Ok.. As someone born and raised in the sweet sunny south, I grew up with my scattered smothered and covered, spent my high school years drinking gallons of coffee and Bert's chili, basically lived at the Waffle House on Hwy 41 in Kennesaw GA. This Waffle House is an imposter. It's passable but not quite the same. The food is OK if you've never been to one in the South. I'm sure it's all the same stuff out of the bag and freezer and what-not it's just not been cooked right when I've eaten there. I suspect they need more butter or cooking lesson from Paula Deen. If you're a southern transplant to Colorado and need your fix this place will get you over the hump.

This is your basic Waffle House. Usually pretty clean unlike some locations. The service is always good. My girlfriend usually gets basic breakfast items. She is a fan too. I always get a cheese burger (sometimes a double) and a large hash browns. You have to get the toppings. I get them scattered, smothered, covered diced, topped, peppered and capped. If you don't know what that means, go in and try it. The burger is nothing to write home about but those hash browns are fantastic. It's worth going just for them. I have went with friends that say the grits are good too.

This restaurant is awful. I'm from New England and decided to give this place a try, and I was extremely disappointed. My friend got the egg and cheese plate, and the cheese in the scrambled eggs was no melted and tasted like plastic. I got the all star plate and the only thing I could stomach was the bacon cause it's nearly impossible to screw up. When you walk in they all yell at you. We were in and out in 15 minutes and my boyfriend threw up his eggs as soon as we got home. The service was nice, but there were too many people working and the food was extremely disappointing. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

We decided to give this place a try because the reviews were so great, but it was a huge disappointment. I was expecting a nice fluffy and crispy waffle, but I ended up with a soggy thin waffle. All of the food was just meh. The only thing I really enjoyed was the ham. I can't believe yelp let me down.

Every time I come in here the employees are always quick to greet us and super friendly. The food is always hot off the grill, I love my "all the way" hash browns and waffle! Thank you waffle house on 80th for always giving us a great experience!!!

Went here on a Saturday morning. 'twas busy but I was seated immediately. The server was a little overwhelmed because we were seated at once and she was putting in orders and slinging food. She was courteous from the moment I sat down. Explained there would be a little wait and why. She took my order for food brought me my soda and made sure it was always full. Ordered the all star special with a butter creme waffle. Eggs with cheese. Grits and side of ham. No complaints from start to finish. My eggs were spot on and extra cheesy. The ham was nicely cooked. The waffle was cooked to perfection. And the toast with the right amount of butter. It's no syrup jelly or snooze. It's a dive for the working man who wants a hearty meal. The way they call out orders has them running like a well oiled machine.

We really loved it here. The ladies who helped us were the perfect breakfast-joint types; friendly, but you can tell they've got a little edge. We like that :) Food was delicious, service and seating was quick, and we had such a nice time. I love that old, down and dirty diner feel. This Waffle House is a sure thing.

Everyone was nice, cheese steak omelet was a bit oily?? Not to happy about that, I still like the one in Littleton a lot better

This place is a sentimental favorite because (1) it's the only place I know of in the area that offers real country ham, which is thin and dry and very, very salty, something you probably won't like or crave if you didn't grow up with it and extremely popular in the South; and (2) they have great pecan waffles. If you miss grits, that's another thing you can get here. Other than that, the Waffle House chain is a pretty standard greasy-spoon diner which sells a lot of T-bone steaks. They produce good, big breakfasts and have aggressively friendly service no matter what hour you come in. The staff really move when the place is packed, but they never forget a pleasant greeting and farewell for everyone. Prices are reasonable. Another plus: If someone wants dinner while everyone else wants breakfast or vice versa, it's not a problem. Their chili is sweet and strange if you are not expecting "Waffle House chili." Their soup is straight from a Campbell's can. The steak is decent, but for cheap steak I prefer other places (Columbine and CowBoba's come to mind). The many different ways to order your hash browns are kind of over-the-top; I just want potatoes or possibly potatoes with onions. Side note: I perfected my grilled cheese technique by watching how the cooks do it here. For what it is, this restaurant is pretty good.

Delicious pecan waffle and my partner had the sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich which was also good. We ordered Togo instead of eating in due to it being busier than normal. Our order was prepared quickly and correctly. The young gentlmen who took the order was friendly and quick. The blonde 40-50yo lady working the grill this morning was running the show, she was very efficient and I was very impressed. She would get 5 stars if the review was just for her :) the elderly man waiting tables was making excuaes, not doing HIS work and trying to pass it off on other servers. I'm glad the couple moved sections instead of letting the young waitress do his work and get the credit.

We go here about once every couple of months for breakfast. The staff is always friendly and talkative and we hardly ever have to wait to be seated (even when it is very crowded). The food is consistently delicious (no matter what you order)! Waffle House is definitely one of our favorite day-off treats!

This is your typical diner. Dingy, greasy and awesome. When the waitress's know what the regulars order when you walk in, it has to be good. The food was great. Simple but with great flavor (that comes from the grease). Breakfast there is something you just cannot pass up I did have a strange urge to ask for Flo.

I felt as though I have failed as a father. My youngest son who is eight told me he wanted waffles for breakfast. Being too lazy to cook, I asked if he wanted to go to a Waffle House....... he looked at me and said, "What's that?". It was then I realized that I had never taken him to the place that fed me at 3am after benders, throughout my late teens into my younger twenties. A place that I have still frequented on guys night out after we are done closing a bar. I had to take him. When we arrived at the door we were greated by a friendly staffer who sat us at the bar, my son was in awe. I knew I was home when I grabbed the back of the chair and I could feel the grease that coated it slide across my palm. My son ordered the waffles with a side of beacon and I had the biscuts and gravy. It's one of the few places that serves food that is as good when your sober as when you're three miles high! It was a bonding moment for my son and I......

I told my hubby I had never been to a Waffle House and the next thing I knew he pulled into a parking lot of one. He said had been in one back in '69 and he bought me a stuffed dog. We were driving from Rockford, Il to Indianapolis so he could introduce me to his parents before we got married. I remebered the dog. 40 years between visits! The Waffle House did look like it had seen better days from the outside and the parking lot had the tired, grass in the cracks look. Inside it was just what you would expect of an older diner that hadn't been updated in some time. You could watch them cook your food. It was very clean and the waitress was very friendly. We sat at a low lunch counter with perfect, wide bottom chairs. It was very comfortable. and I could see myself sitting there for hours drinking coffee and talking. They do offer 15 different meals for $5 each, including drink. Seems like a good deal. They do not have french fries, only hashbrowns. The servings we got were smaller in size than I expected. The sweet tea was very good. Maybe at a waffle House you should order waffles but it was too close to dinner. i ordered a bowl of chili. It was too sweet for my tastes and had big hunks of onion and peppers which did not sit well. Although the jalapenas were more tangy than spicy. I had an oniony taste in my mouth till I brushed my teeth. My granddaughter (Miss picky eater) ordered a cheese burger. It was seved plain, which was good. Usually places slop on some sort of sauce on the bun. But everything she could want was sittng before her in the serving rack or on the side of her plate. So she could fix it to her tastes. It wasn't a spectacular dining experience but it was ok. I didn't think the food we had was wonderful but it was good. The only complaint was about my chili. I will try to make it back before another 40 years passes-and order the waffles. I mean, it is a waffle house.

I've been looking for a breakfast place like this since I've moved to Denver. I've never been to a Waffle House before so I didn't know what to expect. It was very pleasant surprise when I walked in and the staff greeted me in unison. Oh my, this place is TINY!!! The breakfast is all quick bacon and eggs stuff, which is perfect for me. The coffee was light, but good and my only complaint is the toast was soggy... not really toasted at all. All in all, a pleasant experience. I debated between 3-4 stars. It's a decent place for a quick breakfast. Not quite 4 stars... if I could give 3.5 or even 3.7229 stars I would.

My first visit to any Waffle House EVER was this past Saturday morning. I loved the "Hello" greeting from all the wait staff, cooks, and hostess (and some patrons!) as we walked in! What fun! The food was total "comfort" food and the waffles (though they LOOKED small) were wonderful and filling. I love that you can add chocolate chips! Just like I did for my kiddo's! The only thing I would have to mention is one of the waitresses (unfortunately, the one we got stuck with) was so RUDE to the hostess, I was embarrassed for her and the manager/cook she was complaining to. It was hard to sit there and have to listen to her bark at the poor hostess and then tell us how incompetent she was. Other than that, it was fantastic!

Wow, was I surprised to see this place when I moved to Colorado. I am originally from the south where there are multiple waffle houses off every hwy exit. I was deprived for about 10 yrs living in NYC. Diners there are good but just not the same. And no this place is not like Denny's or ihop. Don't even put those places in the same category. There are no better eats than bacon, a waffle and a side of scattered smother hashbrowns when its 3 am after the bars have closed. If you haven't been here, I suggest you go between 2-4am where you will truly see all walks of life converging here for a bite. Also love the way your clothes mildly smell of bacon grease when you leave.

Waffle House is usually my second choice for breakfast food if I don't feel like driving down to my favorite spot. The ham and cheese omelet is damn good and pretty greezy. Always a good choice with some covered hash browns. Everyone is pretty friendly at my local WH.

When I lived in Georgia there were often 2 Waffle houses within blocks of one another. That's not so here in Colorado, and in my eyes it's an unfortunate thing. Yummmmmmy! You are not going to get anything gourment, but the food says comfort with every bite! The Waffle House on Pearl is no exception to the yummy exclamation either. They have all my favorites and the BEST waffles. One of the cooks has been working for Waffle House for 12 years so they know about how a waffle should be done. Also, it's fast and open all the time. From the minute you walk in the door and they all say, "Hello," (literally) to the minute you leave and are thanked the service is attentive and polite. It's amazing that I can get better service at a WH than I can in some of Denver's "better" restaurants, but it's true! I can and have. Oh, how I love Waffle House!!! If you've not been but like a little greasy spoon dining now and then try it! (I took off a star for the bad selection in the juke box, btw. NOT for the food.)

Never bad, never good. On a Sunday morning hangover recovery you can't beat waffle house. If you are serious about something more, move on to a VI or Denny's.

I am a Waffle House fan. Especially for that midnight snack. Today we are driving from Phoenix to Fort Collins, its late, been driving all day and now starving. Bree who was also our server greeted us. She advised the cook "stepped out" and asked us to be patient since she now had become the waitress and cook. A man walked in right after us so she took care of him because we weren't ready. After she was done cooking his food and she ran over to our table. I think her cooking was the best I've had at a Waffle House. The eggs were cooked perfect (which is not often) and so was everything else. The coffee was fresh and the restaurant looked clean minus my spoon that looked like someone cleaned it in their mouth. So kudos to Bree for rollin' with it and taking charge. Scattered and Smothered!

I can't believe that I live only 10 minutes away from this place and have never been in! The bf and I were feeling particularly lazy last Sunday morning. (I am sure it had absolutely nothing to do with the time we drug our asses to bed the night before...that's another story, though). We were greeted with a packed to the brim restaurant with two bar stools left. Sold! Our waitress was really helpful and answered all of the questions we had with ease. I like how you watch your breakfast being prepared. I was super impressed with how hard the cooks were working. They were hauling ass to make sure that our stomachs were full in no time. I had the ham and eggs with extra hash browns (I needed the carbs that morning). The dude had waffles, eggs, grits, and bacon. My eggs were cooked perfectly which is a huge indicator to me of the skill of the chef. I was also really impressed with the grits...they were nice and creamy. I will definitely make sure that I don't forget about this place now! It is worth dragging your ass out of bed in the morning for!

The staff didn't act in a professional manner. Depending on who's cooking determines the quality of food you will get. A couple times i have gone the gravy was a tad too watery for me. But other times i have gone the food was high quality. But if you are looking for a late night snack this is the place for you.
