I've been to Culvers a few times before, but in Iowa and Illinois. I learned fairly recently that there were a couple in Colorado and I took a friend that hadn't been before. He was in for a real treat. Yes, it can be considered "fast food", sort of. The key difference is the sit down service which you don't find at any other fast food place. We were greeted by the very friendly owner upon ordering and she was eager to have us there. As far as fast food burgers go, Culvers makes one of the best around -- "Butter Burgers." It rolls off the tounge nicely and they are delicious. The ingredients are super fresh and all cooked to order. Not only do they have great burgers, but they have tons of other things on the menu. Everything from a pork tenderloin sandwich, to beef pot roast and mash potatoes. They also have cheese curds, onion rings, and really good "crinkle" fries - those puppies hold the ketchup well. They are somewhat known for their frozen custard, which was spot on. They also have malts and shakes which are great as well. The service was hands on from the beginning. We were greeted and thanked from start to finish. They even came by our table to see how things were. Any place that combines the words butter and burgers is fine by me!

When I moved back to Denver from Great Lakes, one of the major foods that I craved was Culvers. It encompasses the midwestern food-craft that is often lost in the Rocky Mountain desire of natural, healthier food options. A burger from Culvers is buttery, glorious and hand-made. You bite into it and all you can taste is a home-cooked burger from your Grandma who just flew in from an Wisconsin farm to give you a meal. The cheese curds are succulent, the rootbeer is creamy, and the custard is delicious. Unfortunately, this is the only Culvers in the Denver Metro area, so you may have to drive a while to get your Wisconsin fix. I would give Culvers a big-5 star review, but it is a chain, even if it doesn't feel like it.

A bit overprice but willing to pay a little extra for great food. Our family has been going to this restaurant since 2009. Fast, friendly service, our orders have been correct 100% of the time. Helpful, caring managers who smile and always make us feel welcome. Food is always tasty and cooked to perfection. We LOVE their mushroom swiss butter burgers, and a great mix of menu items to please anyone. If your tired of the normal fast food places that consistently get your orders wrong, and looking for a great, quiet atmosphere, this is the place for you. Highly recommended. (Would give 5 stars, but as i mentioned, it's a tad expensive (easily spend 30$ for 3 entrees)

I am from the Mid-West where Culvers is HUGE and just simply amazing, so when I move here to Denver and found that there was one here, I HAD to go. The only way I could describe this place is BK had a child with the All American Burger that you'd get at any other restaurant. Their burgers are honestly orgasmic and their cheese balls, fries, and chicken strips are also OH-SO GOOD... I am not going to lie to you, just writing this review I am getting hungry. On that note I am off to Culvers to grab myself a double bacon butter burger deluxe to fulfill my hunger. hope to see you all there

Loves me some Culver's! Cheese Curds. Onion Rings. Crinkle-Cut Fries. Frozen Custard. Burgers of decent quality beef *Cooked In Butter* Let me say that again. *Cooked in Butter* Much like Bacon, butter, in my book, makes everything better. I'm not much for fast food generally, so when I do it, I opt for the "Fast Casual" concept. Which Culver's fits nicely into. The burgers are thin, to be sure, so I like a Double. I always get Cheese Curds, and manage to mooch a bite of two from others' sides... as long as I share my curds, of course. I've tried their Cheddar Burgers, Patty Melts, and special burgers, too. (Check out the photo! French Onion Melt Burger...Holy WOW!) I really like their standard bun. Soft and yeasty, not soggy with the burgers' juices. And Fresh. Also: Lettuce is crisp, the onions are red. And Fresh. What a concept. I never have room for dessert, but again, I'll happily grab a spoonful of someone else's custard, and I've been known to make a run through the Drive Thru just to grab a small custard. Summation: I'm really glad Culver's is a good 30 minute drive from my place... At least for the sake of my wardrobe.

My family and I have been here a few times now & we have yet to be disappointed. In fact our kids kids were cheering in the car as we pulled in. I had been carving a decent cheeseburger all day & this hit the spot. We haven't ventured off the menu from cheeseburgers yet but mainly since they're so good. But next time I think I'll give the bbq pork a try. We did get onion rings to share which we good, nice & crispy. The kids meals come with a scoop of ice cream with one topping, which of course they all love. I ordered a reese's cup mixer which was also good. The employees are very kind & helpful and even had a sense of humor and a smile. There's a large dinning area that is roomy & clean. This isn't the closest place for us but we will definitely be back soon.

So I was excited when I found out Culvers had a gluten free bun and fries and couldn't wait to try the place. Well, the anticipation was muuuch better than the reality. First you took a perfectly good Udi's GF bun and microwaved it. You know how I know? They actually had the audacity to bring it out to me still in the plastic wrapper that they microwaved it in. Looked like a burger from 7-11. Tasted worse. The "patty" came out separate from the bun and I had to assemble it myself. For some reason I thought that was included in the price of the food. Apparently assembly is extra at Culvers. The patty was steamed, or maybe microwaved as well but certainly didn't seem grilled. All together it lumped up to be a terrible burger on a microwaved bun that I had to assemble myself. Oh and the fries taste like the ones that came from my school lunches. Thanks but no thanks Culvers. Smashburger or Larkburger do a much better job.

We ordered the Spicy Chicken Tenders w/Blue Cheese Dressing and a side of Cheese Curds as well as the Culver's Bacon Deluxe Meal w/fries. The fries were good but lacked salt, thankfully that was on the table so that took care of that. The cheese curds were interesting...they had a good crispy outside but the breading to cheese ratio was off, there was so much breading that you barely tasted the cheese curd. My boyfriend had the burger and said it tasted good but that's about all the detail I have on that. The tenders, you can tell, are definitely frozen tenders so not the freshest quality. I felt their advertising for "Fresh Fried Chicken to Go" was a little misleading as it is apparently different chicken than the tenders? The level of spice in the buffalo sauce they use is fine but it was mainly heat over flavor. The establishment itself is cute in that it reminds me of an old-school sit down place before fast food became what it is today. This is just down the street from our house so we are willing to give it another go out of convenience and I definitely want to try their frozen custard but I won't be ordering the tenders or cheese curds again. Overall, it's fine but it will never leave me craving for my next visit to Culver's...

Culver's still holds the gold medal for Fried Cheese Curds in my book! Order them, devour them, be happy :)

Who doesn't like a good butter burger? Well, vegetarians for one I suppose. Who doesn't like a good crinkle cut fry? Well, last time I was at Del Taco, I didn't (fries at a Mexican place?!). Who doesn't like a friendly staff that delivers your order to your table? Oh, forget it. Culvers is a transplant fast food burger joint that has that "land of dairy" feel. Custards for desert, butter burgers, I wouldn't be too surprised if the fries were cooked in butter. I like to order a side of butter just to flex my awesome American consumer muscles. I try not to over do it, and the fact that this place is really far from where I live is a good thing. I almost forgot, they have fried cheese curds here which aren't at all bad. Get your butter on at Culvers.
(3)Moriah S.
They are always so polite here! Especially when you go through the drive threw. I have yet to find a place that serves something better than the strawberry cheesecake mixup...but don't forget the cheesecake pieces on top!

Since moving to Denver from the Seattle area we've been searching for a well-crafted burger. Our search is over, thanks to Culvers. 3-trips in 10-days and each has been consistently flavorful, well executed, and delivered with outstanding service. My husband and I have tried: the shaved prime rib sandwich (excellent), mushroom Swiss burger (equally outstanding), bacon burger (my husband's favorite), fish sandwich (good) and both standard & sweet potato fries. The fries are crinkle-cut and that wonderful blend of crispy outside, tender inside. Oh - and the fried cheese curds are not to be missed. We've not had them before and they are a fried treat. Our experience with other restaurants have been food lacking in flavor. Hello... salt anyone? Maybe some pepper? It's as if there is a geographical moratorium on spices. Sorry, Denver.... spicy chiles are not the only flavor everyone appreciates. A big thank you to Culvers for restoring our faith in flavorful restaurant food. You are our new go-to fast, casual restaurant.

First time I've been here ! My son in-law suggested the place, they are like a Country store and kitchen. The food was good, so I will be back.

Raise you hand if you had never heard of Culvers before eating here! *My hand shoots straight up knocking my coffee over.* The bf is from Iowa where apparently Culvers is the "it" thing. I, being a Denver native, had never heard of it. Also, being a Denver native, had never had a cheese curd before. When I told this to the guy I was thrown in the car and off we went to Culvers. Culvers is somewhere in between a Wendy's and a sit down burger joint. You go up to the counter and order and then take your number sign thingy to your table and await your food. This particular Culvers (not sure if there are more in CO or not...) is a nice size and filled to the brim with families. I ordered the pork tenderloin sandwich which was really tasty. I ended up chucking the bread and just eating the tenderloin. The bf got the butter burger aka artery clogger. This was ok. The cheese curds? Apparently they are better in the Midwest. Either that, or I just don't like cheese curds...Apparently everyone else in the restaurant was enjoying them because I saw them on nearly every table. Culvers is really rich and fattening, so I think that I will save this as a treat and definitely not a regular occurrence.

Excellent especially for drive thru food. I'm suffering a terrible consequence because I just adore their chocolate frozen custard but I have severe dairy sensitivities. I'll be in pain for two days but it was worth every tear. I had the fish fillet dinner with chili fries and mashed potatoes. Even the dinner roll was soft, fresh and deliciousness defined. Stole a bite of the youngest offsprings' dbl bacon chz burger and regretted that my stomach could only eat a little bit. The menu is unlike any other burger joint and prices rival the redhead, the king and Larks. My only complaint is also my saving grace...there's only one in the Denver metro area and it's over 6 miles from my house. Sad but also a good thing. Id go broke and be a thousand lbs if it was close by.
(4)Stephen P.
The burgers are awesome and getting a concrete mixer is a must. .. Oh well diat starts tomorrow.
(5)Books And B.
I liked this place. Good food, a little pricey for the fast food atmosphere, but the cheese curds are delicious.
(3)Ryan S.
I would say this is an average fast food burger place. I've heard really good things about it and wasn't too impressed. The burger and fries weren't bad but I don't agree with all of the hype.
(3)Lily S.
The Cheese Curds were the reason I bookmarked this place and after looking over Culver's offereing online, the many flavors of frozen custards actually made me come in. Needless to say how sorry I was of wasting 600 calories on such "novelty" desserts when it wasn't even as good as Wendy's or Good Time's. I wanted the Boston Cream flavor but that wasn't featured at this location, so the gal put in an order for me that consisted of two scoops of vanilla frozen custard, drizzles of Bavarian cream, and a hard chocolate shell to top it off. Both sounded and looked really good. However, the add-ins tasted very artificial, even plasticky, I thought. I threw most of it away and by then, the vanilla custard had already melted. I made sure to try the cheese curds, they were good, but will I order them again when it's higher in calorie than two of their original burgers? Probably not, especially when it didn't even come with dipping sauce (so why the hell is it so fattening? I mean, French fries are deep fried and loaded with starch and carb too!) The original butter burger, single patty was enjoyable, you can taste the beef and the fact that it's made to order. The Beef Pot Roast sandwich with steak sauce was OK, my boyfriend ate most of it. Since we threw almost half of the dessert away, it felt like we desserved another sandwich when the first two were quite little. The Reuben Melt became the highlight of the meal, very satisfying! If I ever visit Culver's again, I'll probably focus on just a burger, with all the proper add-ins such as cheese and bacon. All the staff that work there were very nice and the place looks clean.

Its more like 3.5 stars for the variety they offer and since we were in the neighborhood, Hubs wanted to have a LATE Dinner here. That evening was on Thursday September 5th 2013. Time was at about 20:17hrs. There are a couple of seats at the Patio, aka OUTSIDE. Yes you order at the counter, and once you are done ordering, they gave you a "number counter". Hubs and I choose to seat at one of the booths, where Hubs can catch the FOOTBALL Game (BRONCOS VS RAVENS) that evening. Hubs told me, this Diner reminds him of the "Old School" Diner he had been before, growing up throughout the US. Yes they have the Fountain Drink Dispenser, the standard - Ketchup, Mustard Dispenser and all the plastic cutlery you need which was situated at the center of this establishment. Culver's made their OWN Root Beer, offer different kind of "Flavor Of The Day" Desserts and Specials Of The Day Menu. From what I could recall we order these items : * Butter Burger Basket with Fries and Medium Fountain Drink ($7.09) * Cod Fillet Basket with Fries and Medium Fountain Drink ($8.09) * Curd Cheese ($3.67) * 1 Side Of Jalapenos ($0.25) Total cost for the Dinner was $20.75 with tax. About 20:30hrs ish, then our food order was sent to our table. The Side of Jalapenos are the ones which are already pickled. I was hoping for the fresh cut Jalapenos. Oh Well... Personally, my order of Cod Fillet was just A-OK. The Cod Fillet Basket comes with Lightly Butter Toasted Hoagie Roll, the Cod Fillet, Tartar Sauce, Shredded Lettuce and Cheddar. The tartar sauce inside the Cod Fillet, was too little for my liking, but at least my food came out piping hot, aka means they cook to order and NOT leaving the food "standing" at the food warming tray. The Fries the Crinkle Cut Fries, NOT to my liking, but Hubs like his Fries this way ALOT! Hubs like his Burger though its a kind of norm portion for him. He opt to have the Butter Burger. Cannot recall which one though. He also like the Curd Cheese way better than I do. Coz I don't grow up eating Curd Cheese, so I don't really fancy those as much as Hubs. That evening maybe due to the FOOTBALL Game, and perhaps at that hour, the Dining area was so quiet, though there are a few more Patrons deciding to have their Dinner, while we were there. This Culver's has a DRIVE-THRU which was pretty busy that evening from my observation. Might return when needed since they offer More Variety and since Hubs like this kind of establishment. Always fresh and fast. Best fast food burger out there.
(4)Karen P.
Culver's is really good for a drive thru restaurant. Every time I go there, they are very very friendly and the customer service is great!. We get the double deluxe butter burger, cheese curds, root beer and cement mixers. All super good, I would like to try other things on their menu but can't seem to because I crave the butter burgers when I go there.

Being from Wisconsin, I'm a huge fan of Culver's! Thankfully, this Culver's is located up in Thornton and is indeed a trek to get to, so indulging in a butter burger or a custard sundae is a real treat. The things that make Culver's stand out from other fast food joints are the following: 1. The butter burger! (A better brand of beef makes a butter burger better! Seriously, you'll never forget that saying after hearing it for years upon years! Not too mention the beef is quite tasty!) 2. The custard! (Um, what else needs to be said about this gift from the gods?) 3. The cheese curds! (Okay, so the curds aren't the best, but when you're hankering for some deep fried goodness, they'll work in a pinch.) 4. The service! (I've always been impressed with the friendly service at all Culver's locations.) Well, there you have it. I'd love to give Culver's 4 stars because I'm a fan, but it's simply good fast food.

Today was our first time eating at Culvers off of a recommendation from several friends. I have to say, we were not disappointed. Everything was perfect. The food, the customer service and how quickly our food was made. Big thank you to Kevin, who was working at the front counter. He was SUPER friendly and was knowledgeable about the very large menu. Now to the food. Priced very fairly, the food was great! I ordered the double deluxe and cheese curds, and my daughter ordered the shaved prime rib sandwich. FANTASTIC!!! We will definitely make our way back to Culvers.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Culver's yet. This place... Wow. I think there are only two in all of the Denver area - apparently they are big in Wisconsin or something - but they are worth a drive. They serve butter burgers. Yes. I just said that. BUTTER burgers. And it's not gross, I promise. It's fantastic. Here's another thing great about Culver's. Everything is made fresh. Yes. They have a drive thru. But guess what? You will be waiting a bit longer at the drive thru for your FRESH meal to come out. It made me realize I was settling whenever I accepted a crappy Wendy's sandwich that had been sitting under a heating lamp for three hours. They are also known for their custard and cheese curds. Damn. Both are good. This place is usually busy but there is a reason. The staff is always amazing and accommodating. The decor is cute and matches the type of food they serve. It's fast food... But not. Almost more of a smash burger type deal. Anyway. I will stop here and tell you to just check it out. Don't miss out on the awesome.
(5)Laura W.
Today was the first time I've had Culver's in years and I was incredibly disappointed. I remember Culver's as always having freshly made, quality burgers. This usually required a short wait, but I always felt the wait was well worth it. Today I ordered a single classic cheeseburger with bacon at the drive-thru just after noon and I was served a horrible excuse for a burger. It had obviously been reheated, the bun soggy and not freshly warm but HOT right out of a microwave. The patty was overcooked, dry, and unimpressive. Additionally, I was not provided any napkins! Come on, Culver's, get it together! I'm very disappointed because I just started a new job very close to this location and was excited to once again have Culver's as a lunchtime treat. Unfortunately, I won't be returning anytime soon.
(1)Pamela L.
Love this place. The cheese curds and ice cream are delicious. You can tell a place is good when there is a drive thru line around the block.
(5)Adam P.
Pretty good burgers, fries and custard, but the portions are small for the price. Customer service has always been good for me.
(4)Beau W.
This place is a little better than your average fast food joint. They have a much larger and varied menu than a Wendy's or the like. Shaved prime rib sandwich, pot roast sandwich, pork tenderloin sandwich, Reuben and fried shrimp. They also have frozen custard. I really like the custard and shakes. Thick and creamy. The burgers are the put it on the flat top and smash the patty style. They are pretty good. Better that McDonald's but not as good as In and Out or Five Guys.
(3)Megan G.
Always clean, fast and delicious. A little pricy but you get what you pay for. Always tastes great.
(5)Robin M.
I didn't realize I was so sentimental about our flag until I observed the respect shown as the staff folded it correctly for the night. They also seem to have a lot of fun working together and are very friendly and helpful to customers. Someone here has done training right. Great menu with a lot of selections, some of them well out of normal "fast food" range. I like it here!
(4)Johnathon B.
Decided to stop by for dinner last weekend before going to a haunted house. It had actually been my first time in the restaurant. I was in awe with how many people I saw eating in the dining room! Thinking to myself, it must be good! Our group walked in and was immediately looking over the huge menu that was clear and easy to read. I opted for the new limited time pub burger and sweet potato fries. I had always heard about their butter burger, but decided to try something different. I was glad I did, the meal itself was really great for "fast" food. It is made to order, but I would generally categorize it as fast food. There are plenty of sides to choose from when making a combo, like my girlfriend ordered mashed potatoes with her fish sandwich. I always love the option for a variety of choices when having a combo meal like this with a drink, so that is always a plus for me. Now that I have had this, I will definitely be going back to try their butter burger. I wanted to try dessert and a shake as well...just gives me more reasons to come back! I was overall pleased with the friendly service and atmosphere as well. The food was really good and recommended if you are in the area.
(5)Mark T.
So happy to finally have time to drive here, worth every cent. Lived in MN, can't understand why there are not more here. I crave the pork tenderloin, nobody has them in Denver, not sure why. Service is fast, food is great! I only wish they had one closer to my home!
(5)Tee V.
The pork chop burger was dry and tasteless, had to ask for other condiments to make it taste better (honey mustard and ranch). The fried chicken smells awesome but i would recommend eating it while fresh and hot. The previous times I've had been here i got burgers which were good compared so some fast food joint.
(3)Raymond O.
Ate here for father's day, sounds strange but I was dying for a good burger. The food was good and tasty, had some ice cream afterwards and was living life. Very good
(4)Scott P.
A decent place for burgers and general fast food fare. I stopped in recently for the new pub grinder burger. It was better than a big mac but below smashburger or lark burger. The fries are ordinary. The cheese curds are a real treat. The frozen custard is really good.
(3)Heidi K.
We used to have 3 Culvers within 10 minutes of our apartment in Wisconsin...now the closest is 45 minutes away when traffic is good. Clearly we did not thoroughly think things through when we signed our lease in Denver! I, personally, am not a fan of their burgers (the butter bun is a bit much, which is uncharacteristic for me to say) but my husband loves them. I go for the chicken tenders or soup of the day + curds/fries. You cannot go wrong with their cheese curds. If you get a kid's meal (two tenders + fries + drink) you get a coupon for a free scoop of one topping custard. I highly recommend going the kid's meal route and finishing off your meal with a scoop of vanilla custard and hot caramel syrup. Yum.
(5)Wesley O.
Got the bacon burger and a vanilla malt. Burger was a little bit on salty side and the shake had a little bit too much malt in it. Overall, pretty darn delicious. Will definitely be coming back!
(4)Lynn D.
Great service. Delicious food. Culvers does it right.

Love Culver's! I'm from Wisconsin so I had Culver's a lot. Their frozen custard is delicious every time. I love their chicken tenders. My fiance enjoys the cheese curds (hello Wisconsin). Will come back multiple times!
