This restaurant is the best restaurant I have ever been to!!! The Elk Lettuce Wraps are amazing! The drinks are amazing too! Their complementary appetizer is popcorn with a special dusting of seasonings and it is my favorite food in the world! The servers and bartenders were really nice. The atmosphere was awesome even for a small place. If you get the chance to eat here DO IT!

Best hole in the wall place with fantastic culinary dishes and WOOHOOOOooo cocktails!! So glad we decided to check it out & within walking distance from our place was a definite plus!! This place gets an extra "gold" star from me!!

You have to go There. There is quite possibly one of the most creative, unique, fun restaurants we've patronized. My husband got us a reservation (hint: you really do need a reservation - e-mail them, don't call). Our servers/bartenders were awesome. O'Shane is the best. He made up cocktails for us, based on our liquor preferences. The staff genuinely seemed to love working here. It's a small restaurant, maybe seats 20-25 people. It's funky, hip, and cool. The menu consists of small bites, something I appreciate, as I don't have a large appetite. I love sampling many different things. We had pork belly skewers, oysters, steamed buns, and scallops. Each bite was more amazing than the next. Truly fun restaurant. Check it out!

A local recommended we check this funky joint out and I am so glad we did. Our experience was pretty stellar. The steamed buns (pork and mushroom) were cooked to perfection. Bite size crab ceviche and elk lettuce wraps couldn't of been better. We also shared the ramen which was equally delicious. It was our 1 year wedding anniversary the night we were dining and the 2 guys working came and gave us a champagne toast. Thoughtful, delicious and eclectic. We will absolutely be back when we are in Telluride. Note: only about 6 tables and the bar. Make a reservation for busy nights.

Awesome! Can't recommend enough. Located on the other side of town from the festival but well worth the walk. Funky little diner/bar with a pretty exotic menu. The are into shared plates and small plates. Service... waiter was EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable.... so much so.... you wondered if he wasn't part owner. Drinks... they have a pretty nice craft cocktail menu that had some refreshing drinks. Did the grapefruit martini (rocks) and it hit the spot after being in the sun all day. Food... BUNS! We tried all the different buns and our favorites were the smokey chicken and the crispy spicy duck were the hit of the table. Only misstep, we thought, was the pork + pickle bun. The pickle completely dominated the taste was very powerful. Tried the sunflower sprouts... very good and one shareable.... the whole fried bass. THe bass was good but needed a little boot. I saw the picture on the menu and ours did not come with the onions and such. It could have used a dipping sauce or something but still good. Price... Telluride average (which means little pricier than you expect but still not bad compared to other restaurants in Telluride). Great place... check it out.

A really cool spot. We stopped in Telluride during our hiking trip. The whole staff was extremely friendly and fun to talk to. Be warned that the portions are EXTREMELY SMALL. When they say bites they mean bite. And that's it. But everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite was the mushroom bun. Also the jam drinks were gross. Cool concept but I was not a fan. I suggest getting one to try but you're better off going with one of their cocktails. Definitely a great spot if you ever stop by this gorgeous little town.

This is a really neat little restaurant! We made a reservation, but I don't think one was needed. While we waited for a table, there was a nice standing table and we were served popcorn and complimentary Brussels sprouts because of the wait. I don't always love brussels sprouts but these were really good! We had a variety of smaller items from the menu but some of our favorites were the duck and mushroom steamed buns, the prawns and Kobe skewers, and the vegetable of the day which was butternut squash. For the main entree, we had the risotto and scallops. The dish was fine, but we enjoyed some of the earlier entrees more. Next time we'll probably stick to the smaller items. My only complaint is it took a significant amount of time between each of the plates coming out of the kitchen. It was a full restaurant so that might have been part of the reason.
(4)Megan L.
We were really looking forward to trying all the good food other reviewers raved about but a sandal-clad employee who worked in the kitchen carried the most foul body odor that lingered in the air long after he walked by. He remained in the kitchen (I assume preparing food) after he had made several passes by us in his dirty tank top, crop dusting us with his essence each time he passed our table. The ambience was fun and the two cocktails we had were great but the lack of attention to cleanliness and hygiene was nauseating.
(2)Aaron J.
There is a fun, small restaurant in Telluride. Their menu has a bunch of small bites, ramen, and entrees. I had the elk lettuce wrap. We shared flash fried brussel sprouts and the mussel entree. The elk and sprouts were great. We are big mussel fans and thought they were average. They have Telluride Brewing beers on tap and the service was great! I would go there again. No pun intended.
(4)Amanda T.
There is one of those places that gets high marks because it's in a mountain town. If it were in Denver, I'm betting it would range between 3-3.5 stars. The popcorn is as delicious as everyone says and we did enjoy the flash fried Brussels sprouts and our skewers. However, nothing was memorable. The exception was the Pumpkin Jam drink made with rum! It was definitely the standout.

Stumbled across this gem early on Christmas Eve and got sat immediately at the bar. This restaurant is amazing. I Had the spiced apple martini from the bar and was served with enthusiasm by Johnny who provided some of the best service I have had in a long time. My family of four shared the duck breast ramen, duck buns, quail, tostadas and a Brussels sprout veg side- the best Brussels sprouts I've ever consumed. Thanks for the awesome service and food. I will be back "There".
(5)Brandon S.
Some of the best food that I have had in a long time. The place is super unique and I would highly recommend it to everyone that visits Telluride. If you don't like close contact and a relatively loud place, skip There. If you like unique, good and not super expensive food, check them out.
(5)Ingrid S.
We were satisfied each bite of the food we put in our mouth ! Kobe beef was perfectly done ! And the duck bun was surprisingly good ! You should come check this place out !

I ended up at There for dinner and drinks three nights during one week in Telluride, so you could say I'm a fan. But you can't say that it's the perfect place. It's unique, especially for a small ski town, high energy, and the food and drinks are excellent. The issue is the very inconsistent service. I have a weird love/hate relationship with their problematic service, though. On one hand, it's obvious that the staff are busting their asses and have their shit together. Their frenetic energy is exciting to witness and a little contagious. But it also feels like they're constantly overwhelmed, and possibly the kitchen is just too small for the demand. Expect to wait a bit for food. But enough of the negativity. Any problem I might have with There is clearly not big enough to keep me away. Everything about the food and drink... There... is amazing, starting with the bag of white cheddar (I think) popcorn they bring to your table when you sit down. Also, you have to go with one of their jam drinks. You pick from three different jam flavors, an alcohol, and they mix it all with a little sour and it is so, so good. I think tequila and blueberry jam was my fave combo. If you're lucky, they'll bring you out a plate of crispy brussels sprouts, compliments of the house. If not, at least you get the popcorn. Of the buns, my favorites were the pork and duck. The elk lettuce wraps are delicious, but they were unfortunately out of the elk two out of the three nights, so I guess you'd have to be lucky with that, too. Twice we ordered the duck ramen. Unlike other ramen, they bring theirs out dry with the broth on the side so it's easy to partition into smaller bowls for sharing without everything getting mushy. The ramen broth is nothing special, but along with the yummy duck and generous portion of veggies, it's still very good. It's a small place, and during the winter can be very crowded. They take reservations, and I definitely recommend them if you're a party of four or more, or want to sit at one of their few tables and not the bar. However, if you're just looking to grab a few small bites and a jam drink, and arrive before 7, you'll be able to find a seat.
(4)david h.
1215pm and they've run out of food. Sat for 15 minutes before they told me. So... They need to get their act together. Russian roulette restaurant.
(1)Mary R.
Great dining experience. My husband and I were able to sit at the bar and see the all the action. It's not a place to get quick bite, but a great way to spend your evening. Mostly small portions so we shared everything. We started with the spicy prawn tostada and the mushroom tostada, then crispy duck and soft shell crab steamed buns. We also ordered the pork belly and prawn skewers, and my husband is still talking about the pork belly. Lastly we orders the Kobe beef entree and local succotash. Sounds like a lot of food but we were able to eat it with no problem since the majority were small bites. Make this a stop when you are in Telluride.
(5)Naomi M.
Grapefruit martini was a treat. Mushroom steamed bun was surprisingly delightful. Wouldn't have ordered this but it came with the food tour we were on. Great bar tender and fun atmosphere!
(4)Sara B.
Awesome restaurant in the middle of Telluride. Jerry, Johnny and Brian were all awesome! Creative drink menu, but be careful of that altitude! Popcorn while you wait. Lovely fresh food. Small, great atmosphere. Reservations recommended.
(5)Jamie R.
I'm in love with the hip, delicious creativity here at There. My friend and I started with drinks: A grapefruit martini and a genuine Moscow mule in a copper mug. The place is tiny, tiny, but full of treasures. We stood in the "aspen grove," so named because it is an alcove with two aspen trees from floor to ceiling, supporting a single, bar high table where up to 8 visitors can huddle. Two other diners kibitzed on our choice of small plates, so we happily ordered the prawns on their splendid recommendation. Two huge prawns arrived on a plank of wood, smeared with custom mayo and crossed with the thinnest of celery spears. Gone, before our table mates from Austin could spell Texas. We also devoured the unlikely, but very popular roasted Brussels sprouts . They were succulent little beasts, with flakey outer leaves, roasted to the point where the bright green chlorophyl remained, yet salted to a finger lickin' degree that tempted me to put down the chopsticks and just become crude. I could easily make them disappear with my bare hands, Pilgrim. The culinary coup du jour however, was the seein' double portion of spiced duck on steamed buns. A melt in your mouth delicacy, for sure.

I was on a solo trip to Telluride and I didn't have a reservation so they seated me at the bar. Bartenders were very nice and somewhat attentive. The Elk Lettuce wrap was great as was the Kobe steak skewer. The oysters were okay- nothing special. I saw a big plate of mussels go by and I asked them where that was on the menu...oh we didn't tell you about the shared plates? Um, no. Being solo has its downsides I guess. The Belgian beer was great but don't forget that at 9000 ft, you're gonna feel it quicker. It was also high alcohol. Funky and hipster place.

Food = 2 Price = 2 Experience = 2 (Don't put the hard sell on me... don't criticize my choices... don't glare at me when I don't order large amounts of food. These guys are too hip for me. Small space with little seating. I know the owners want to turn tables... but, it's not my fault that you have such a small and limiting space. Very rude and awkward.
(2)Rhonda S.
A cute, quaint place. Bartenders were friendly. Wanted to try a small bite spicy tuna tostada. See my pic. I had a bite of the fish and didn't like it at all, just bland and sort of smelled a bit fishy. They handed us a little bag of popcorn stamped There on it when we came in. :) Don't think I would get food here again but the atmosphere was fun.
(3)Rebecca R.
This is where you want to be in Telluride Love the funky cool atmosphere here. Hubby and I called ahead for a reservation...whew! We were greeted by a handsome waiter/bartender who gave us the low down on the place, and a bag of fresh popcorn (real butter? And secret ingredient?) Hubby ordered a local beer and I tried one of the many hand crafted cocktails...wow. Blown away...not too sweet, savory enough to have with our dinner.

I mean, this is what happens when you take ski bums, train them at NYC Michelin star restaurants, and put them in one of the most posh/hippie towns out west. THERE is a must-visit if you're in Telluride, especially if its your first time. People complain that its hard to get in, but hey, its like that for a reason and you should probably make an effort if you want the experience. The guys that run the place are ridiculously on-point. They OWN the room, both literally and figuratively. Top-notch service, super friendly, and very timely, especially given the number of people they all have to serve. Keep it up guys, had no idea how you did it. Everything on the menu is awesome. Seriously. Everything from the pork buns to the ramen, from the popcorn to the brussel sprouts. So come hungry, and leave a good tip.

I can't help but be extremely impressed and excited about There. It started with the Community Table- which quickly filled up with some of the coolest, most friendly folks in all of Telluride. We enjoyed the grapefruit martinis and wonderful service. The staff rocks- they're interesting, fun to watch and definitely passionate about their business. We spent almost 2 hours at the community table, people came and went, but there were 8 of us who became instant friends over a couple of cocktails and the popcorn! After a couple of hours we moved to the bar to eat dinner. The pork buns are delicious and the brussel sprouts are a don't miss! we also enjoyed the shot-ski, which I had not done since college, but it's such a fun atmosphere you don't want to miss out! We had excellent service, wonderful food and overall the experience is one not to be missed. We will be back, and this definitely solidifies my love for Telluride- the people, interesting food, and best service! THANK YOU THERE!
(5)Alex T.
Don't know how it took me so long to try this place out but it's now one of my favorite places in town. The atmosphere was really cool and laid back but the food was top of the line and the service was great. The servers knew the menu and did a great job selling it. We started with the Brussel Sprouts because we had seen a lot of other people on here talking about them. That was a good choice. They are crispy and salty and delicious. I haven't been able to keep my mind off of them since. At $6 these were the best value on the menu. You have to get them. From there we had two tostadas and two steamed buns. The tostadas we ordered (salmon belly and crab) were fresh and tasty but they didn't stand anywhere near to the steamed buns. We ordered crispy spicy duck and chicken tinga steamed buns and our only dinner regret was not ordering more. The buns are about two or three bites worth of perfection. Order any of them that look remotely interesting. You won't regret it. For the main course we went against the good advice of our server and ordered two bowls of Ramen since we couldn't agree on a bowl to share. It's a pretty huge bowl of soup. They bring one large bowl full of noodles and various ingredients and a carafe of broth. You then mix the two in a smaller bowl for eating. It was a fun and tasty experience but next time we'll try one of the sharable entrees because we saw them at some other tables and had some order envy. I had a Library Card to drink. It essentially tasted like a whiskey sour but had red pepper jam mixed into it. The drink menu is really fun and cool and I would definitely go back on that alone. Can't wait to get back to Telluride and There is a big reason for that.

Silly name, "There." But really good experience, with unusual and exciting food and drink. The guys who opened this place are from Nobu in NYC. Nobu's, as in Nobu Matsuhisa, the founder of the eponymous "chain" of restaurants that have garnered a Michelin star back East. These guys know their stuff. Let's start with their cocktails. DY. NO. MITE. The first words out of my love's mouth after tasting their grapefruit cocktail: "This is the best damn drink I've ever had!" (There were actually 3 exclamation points in her statement, but I didn't wanna bore you with puttin' them in the quote:). Shared a few small plates and a larger dish we split as the main. Highly recommend the miso grilled eggplant salad, the salmon skewers and the kobe beef. A little less blown away with the shrimp served over fregula with the Sicilian tomato sauce. Right on the verge of 5 stars. Neat and a half and definitely worth the trip.
(4)Jenna M.
I've been There twice now and it would be my #1 recommendation to anyone coming to Telluride. The food is creative, with a variety of meats and ways to serve those meats. The drinks are their pièce de résistance and are SO GOOD. The decor and the location are also on point. But most importantly their staff and chefs are the most personable and helpful people imaginable. Can't wait for There Denver!!!
(5)Rachael L.
Super place! The ambience, food and the servers awesome!!! Super yummy and creative! The servers are friendly and very tentative.
(4)Christine W.
Solid, interesting meal. Pork buns (spicy!) and elk lettuce wrap had great flavor. Beet tostado I could take it or leave it-- a little on the earthy side--I would've preferred a smidge of tang or sweet. But that's just personal preference. The quail/Mac entree was different but not worth the $25 price tag, especially since the mac is a chilled salad. I think in this case the entree would be better with a hot, creamy high quality mac. Coming from Boston we see these prices all the time and don't blink. But it just didn't hold up in this case. The service was excellent! Super friendly and accommodating. The popcorn they serve while you wait is fun and savory. And the location is a welcome relief-- off the tourist beaten path downtown. This place has definitely been discovered so make sure to get there when they open or close to it. I'll give them another visit when I'm in town.
(3)Kirill Z.
Nice place, good food, but honestly, quite overpriced for what it is. Actually, let me be more specific -- the shared main dish is ridiculously overpriced. I paid $7 for skewers, which I was happy with. But then, the main dish arrived. For $30 odd dollars those same skewers came on a massive bed of corn. Yeah, that's right, two tiny pieces of sea food and a f-ing massive plate of corn, for additional $23 dollars. WTF? I'd give this place a 4.5 star for cosy setup and friendly staff, but it's been three days and I still feel ripped off, and for that they're only getting 3. Cheers!
(3)Michele A.
Omg!! Denver-Highlands get ready! Cause If you're not there then you're not anywhere!!!

Best find on a Colorado road trip. A friend and I were camping in Telluride for a couple nights- We got rained out, our tent flooded, and we were wet, cold, miserable and hungry. Yelp reviews pointed us towards There... and we couldn't have asked for more. The restaurant is small, but a super cozy and friendly vibe. We had 2 seats at the bar, and immediately became friends with the surrounding patrons and Oren, the bartender/owner. It had felt like we were adopted by the Telluride community for the night. We chatted for hours over delicious craft cocktails and munched on one interesting and delicious small dish after another. The best way to enjoy this place is to taste a little bit of everything! We enjoyed the beef skewers, fried brussel sprouts (not on the menu), crab tostada, and crispy duck steamed buns. I would have extended our Telluride trip another few nights just to hang at this place a little longer.
(5)Robin S.
We ate at there our second night in Telluride. As others have mentioned, it is tiny and not terribly easy to get a seat after 6 PM.... I think its because they have about 25 seats including the bar seats. That being said, the intimacy gave it a cool feel kind of like we were at a private event, or like a locals bar. We ended up being seatedat the bar, which actually was preferable. We actually had a great service experience...the owner was working the bar and was very kind and checked in on us regularly...we chatted with the busboy for a while. We felt very welcome. The drinks were excellent! We got the booze with jam, which was delicious and genius. It was my second night at altitutde which means me + those drinks=drunk. On food, we got the tuna toastadas, the chicken curry toastadas, and the flash friend brussels sprouts. The sprouts were an absolute standout...super crispy, leafy, yummy and table sriacha for dipping. YES. The tuna unfortunately didn't have much flavor and seemed not entirely fresh (forgiveable...I mean, how on earth could you get fresh fish here anyway). The chicken curry toastadas were good...if I had to do it over I would order more curry less tuna. My husband also had a small bit of our neighbors (my husband gets hit on everywhere we go...wtfh) Kobe beef over arugula, and he thought it was decent but not terribly impressive (is this just a kobe beef thing? hear it is...just a bunch of BS). It was nice to meet a few small business owners, our neighbor owned the boot doctor! The comic-book style menu is confusing. Can we as a culture cool it with trendy menus and just go back to menus that are readable? All in all, our three tapas and four drinks ran us $60 not including tip, which felt a little steep. However, we realized over the next few days that Telluride is more expensive than we anticipated so it seemed in line with the town. I wasn't wowed enough by anything food-wise to have it be ultra memorable, but cute, fun place.
(3)Dan A.
Nice Ambiance, Very Nice place to relax and spend your brunch here. Me and my parents were impressed with the food! The Burger was to die for!; Juicy and full of flavor. The polenta with shrimp was fresh, satisfying, yet not too greasy. Chorizo and egg was also good! Make sure you order the drinks! They make good summer brunch cocktail. Just tell what you drink usually, and ask their recommendation; They will deliver! If you visit Telluride, you have to come here and try out their offering, you wont regret!
(5)Joyce M.
We recently ate at There. This small and crowded restaurant initially infuses the patron with an air of energy and excitement. The owner/waiters greeted us with enthusiasm and sat us immediately. Considering some of the reviews we had read, we expected an evening of quality food infused with an ambiance of creativity. We were massively disappointed. Essentially, There is a restaurant that poses as a Brooklyn-west hang out where the owner/waiters seek to bring a vibe of hip that makes the patron feel fortunate to be in their company. Sadly, these guys are a bunch of hipster, dufus, posers. And the Brooklyn vibe really feels so contrived in Telluride. If that weren't enough, the food was so terribly disappointing that we nearly left after waiting more than an hour for our first course of appetizers. Among them were chicken meatballs that were the size of your thumbnail and salmon skewers soaked in a vague beige sauce. We should have departed at that point but it was getting late. When the quartered quail arrived things turned for the worse. This fried set of pinky-bones might have had some meat on them but we didn't have a magnifying glass to determine the quantity. For $26 the dish also came with a cold potato and egg salad - yuck. Fortunately, there are loads of other restaurants in Telluride and lots of them are really good. This was one lousy meal. We have given it a one-star rating but that's really being generous.
(1)Aimee M.
Ok. The drinks are great. The food is great. The vibe is great. The pace is something you need to set. They want you to drink fast, eat fast...we wanted to pace our meal but that just didn't happen. They do run out of things so order things that they might not have if u want it later. But...I would order as u go. All of the small bites were yummy you really can't go wrong. And make it to dessert...super good.
(4)Ana C.
Definitely worth a stop! Great food and cocktails. Nice little hidden gem in telluride.
(4)Bill F.
If you're a ski bum, hipster , with little food knowledge and like shots..... You'll rate There high. Myself, I like a good food value, respectful and attentive service with no attitude. Food was overpriced and underperformed. The service was poor, unattentive, sloppy, too groovy and had a little too much punk to it. Good for you, I wish you well, but you don't get it.
(2)Brian B.
I have tried to grab a drink @ There after work, twice. Both times were shortly after 10pm. The first time, last year, I walked in, and a young man sweeping the floor greeted me with "No no no no no" as he ushered me out the door. Through the series of "No's" I tried explaining I just wanted a beer. To no avail, I was rushed out the door. The second time, during Bluegrass weekend, a friend and I tried to enter at about 10:30. The restaurant was fairly full at this time. Again, we were greeted at the door with "No". Not a "Hello" or a "Sorry", just "No". As an F&B professional, I can safely say that this is no way to run a business. And I, for one, will never go "There" again.
(1)Ben G.
Walked in, greeted immediately by friendly staff. Felt an ambiance as if I was at home hosting a family dinner. Creative drink menu, cartoonish food menu - these guys simply nail it. First rate cuisine and mixology without the pretense. Would be here weekly of we lived here.
(5)Brent B.
Tasty food. Though, Smaller dishes with bigger prices. Hard to get into at times and had a hipster-ish feel/service. Great mixed drinks and decor. The open/closed hours are not set in stone.
(3)Cyn C.
Cute and cozy space, serving delicious (and unique) drinks and some of the most flavorful food i've had in Telluride!! Here, you can get small bites for a reasonable price. We were seated immediately at a high/pub table, which had built in purse hooks. Star! Water, glasses, and a bag of flavored popcorn came to our table pretty quickly. The popcorn is not to be missed. I'm pretty sure there was tons of garlic salt and paprika in the popcorn, which is popped fresh (you can see the popcorn popper right when you walk in the door). Our table enjoyed (and I mean ENJOYED) the flash-fried brussel sprouts, chicken lettuce wrap, mushroom and beet tostada, king crab tostada, pork and pickle steamed bun, salmon kushiyaki and the miso-glazed eggplant. Each one was gobbled up; the proteins were spiced and prepared VERY WELL. (seafood in the middle of the mountains? actually really really good!) The brussel sprouts and eggplant were OUTSTANDING. If i go back, I'd want to try the other dishes, but I would have no problem just feasting on these two. Drinks: coconut pineapple with cinnamon (sweetest drink of the evening), cantana (cantalope flavored vodka drink... on the black list), and the grapefruit to start. Followed by a round of jam drinks (red pepper jelly/vodka, blueberry vodka, blueberry gin). You choose the jam and the spirit. Spirit is mixed with a sour mix (simple syrup with lime) and then a spoonful of jelly is plopped right in. Both of my drinks were terrific. My friends and I left with a great buzz and our bellies full. Two drinks, dinner, tip and tax = $35-50 per person.

Our second visit and we arrived early (shortly after they opened) to make sure we could get a seat and eat some ramen I'd been craving. The guys that own the place were both bar tending and kept everyone entertained and laughing. This was just an added bonus to the incredible cocktails they mixed up for us. While we waited for our ramen to arrive we got a couple of the tacos. They are small, so they aren't for sharing - order whatever you'd like for yourself. When our ramen came up we were provided two separate bowls (because we were sharing), a vase with the ramen broth in it, and a bowl that contained all of the ramen ingredients (noodles, pork, vegetables, greenery, seaweed) .... take what you want into your own bowl and add broth. If you would like to season your soup more, there are condiments provided to adjust the sweetness, saltiness, or spiciness to your liking. There's word of 'There', or a variation of it, coming to Denver. I look forward to that day.

Sounded like it would be a great and unique venue to have dinner. Had a reservation. Seated immediately. The waiter was impatient, and seemed irked when we asked him to repeat a few menu items and how he recommended we order. He then said "listen up" to our table and the couple at another table, and spilled out the menu items. We ordered, and the items were typed into his digital device. We sat there for an hour and ten minutes. The waiter never came over to check on us, nor attempt to find out where our food was. Keep in mind, this place is tiny! Not many people to attend to! The waiter actually avoided our disgruntled looks. Finally, the bartender came over to find out what was happening. Now, HE is a keeper! What a sweet guy. (Jamaican). He got our food and made sure we had what we needed. The original waiter never did come over or apologize. Now, onto the food. Overpriced for what you get. It was recommended that an entrée could be shared for two people. Four of us, two entrées. Joke. Sea scallops = 2 sea scallops on a bed of resoto rice. And, Thinnly sliced Kobe beef on a bed of lettuce. Very spendy for not a lot. If you want an interesting place to sit and have a drink, fine, but don't bother with food. I am, however, going to try and make their complimentary Brussel sprout leaves.

This is a terrifically unique spot for a ski town. Take all the favorite things you might seek across the NYC restaurant scene and combine them in a way that works, add a funky and fun atmosphere and what you create is "There". We started off with cocktails. Ask for the warm whiskey drinks to take the chill off and then move to the Hustler for a great twist on the Manhattan. Don't be intimidated by the menu - just ask the host for tips on how to order. Brussels sprouts were fabulous. Salmon skewers were done perfectly. Lettuce wraps were a great compliment. And don't forget to ask about dessert!

As a former vegetarian, this was THE BEST burger I've ever had. Seriously, incredible. Local, grass fed beef. We went for Sunday brunch so the menu was limited, and I was hesitant to pick the burger since it didn't have many toppings to cover up the meat: dijonaise, cheese, English muffin. I loved it. I've never savored a burger that much. My husband got the salmon, which was also delicious (but the burger was better). The plates are good portion sizes and feel filling but light. We talked to the owner a bit and he was very friendly, as well. Don't go through Telluride without stopping here for a bite! It's a must.

This is a must stop for any foodie traveling through Telluride. If I was a local, this would be my haunt. Incredible food and cocktails. I wish they would open a location in Boulder so I could be here or at 'there' all the time! The atmosphere is intimate and cozy with a few booths by the window and small tables along the wall. I think the best seat in the house is at the bar, where you get a chance to pick the bartender's brains about all of the delicious food and drink offerings. I absolutely adored the presentation of the drink menu that was tucked inside of a novel. Really creative. We had the Potatoes Bravas which was perfectly cooked, warming and with the right balance of spice. I imagine all of the food is good here but we had just eaten a few hours earlier at Siam and ordered one tapas plate. I would love to go back and try more of the menu offerings. I started with one of the jam drinks and picked the red pepper jelly and tequila combination. My partner in crime ordered a perfectly crafted strawberry cocktail that was served up off of the Black List ( I can't recall the name of..Numbered something?) For the next round of drinks, we requested Orien (one of the bartenders) to concoct us something based on our preferred flavor profile, and it was perfectly executed! Orien was fun, friendly and a great host. Loved that the two hosts (Orien and Tyler) were old friends from New York who met while working at Nobu- which shows some serious chops. This will be my first stop for food and drinks the next time I am in Tride. I also hear that the brunch is excellent too.

I went here about a week ago with a friend. I was, at the start, confused and intrigued by the restaurant, due to its very original name. Thus, I was happy that, along with the name, the restaurant chose to keep its food original as well. The complimentary popcorn was amazing. I don't know what kind of seasoning they put on it, but it was incredible. From there, I ordered a sort of steamed bun with crispy duck, and a pepper aioli. That hit the spot. Everything else, from the ramen bowls to the specials they had, were spot on in terms of quality and taste. Two things, however, left lacking. I ordered a couple dishes for myself and my friend, and while the dishes are meant to be shared, they are extremely small. Especially for an always-starving guy like myself. Secondly, the dishes are pretty steep in price, so be prepared. These two factors led to about $50 of my money being spent on food that, while very delicious, did not really fill me up at all. But that could be just me. Overall, I would say that if you want to get great food in a pleasantly eclectic atmosphere, but are not especially hungry or are not on a budget, check this place out.

Quite an incredible surprise and an experience to match. Towed in by son and friend, we had no idea what we were in for. The staff knocked us back a step with a very unique welcome and approach. Immediate smiles around that never dropped. Unfortunately we had just come from dinner, so no bites. But the drinks and experience hooked us and we loved every minute. This is a not to be missed Telluride destination.
(5)Ulviya B.
Ok, so the food is good but not sure worth the price. The experience overall was poor. The guy who greeted us, partner I think (tall with beard) was not willing to accommodate us without reservation. We stood in a waiting area and started eating there. when the whole bar was empty, he finally moved us to the bar area. Also, they need to have hot water in the bathroom, can't even wash hands with freezing water.
(2)Christin B.
Tried to eat here twice and it was closed both times. Saturday at 9 pm and Sunday at 10:30 am. Not sure when this business is actually open but the times on Yelp are incorrect. Pretty bummed.

Several weeks ago, I made a reservation at There for 6:30 PM on 12/28/14 for four people. The reservation was made by phone and I spoke with someone and did not leave a message. My reservation was confirmed with the gentleman on the phone. Today, I received a phone message from "Jon" that my reservation could not be honored and that they could not accomodate my family. I find this extremely rude and unprofessional. They said it was a personal mistake!!!!. Well, I find that unacceptable. We are homeowners in Telluride and we are ashamed that anyone would be treated this way. Ok so There is a trendy restaurant-it does not give you the permission to be so rude!!!! I have to say that I will NEVER make a reservation or eat there again. I hope that others read this and that they realize that this is certainly not the nice or polite way to do business-no matter who you are!!!
(1)Alex G.
This is probably the best restaurant in Telluride. The drinks menu is absolutely outstanding and the food is phenomenal. Make sure you arrive ON TIME, and CALL AHEAD for reservations. This place gets packed and so best to schedule and keep to it. My favorites here are the brussels sprouts (best in the world i'd say), salmon belly, crab ceviche lettuce wraps, spicy duck, salmon skewer and Potatos Bravas. Everything is amazing though, these are just my favorites. Enjoy!

Papas Bravas, soft shell crab on air bun, and spicy tuna tostada were very tasty. This was one of our best meals in Telluride. To top it off Jerry poured up the Alpine mule, similar to the Moscow mule but includes a Colorado liqueur floater. The ramen is a nice presentation but I prefer the broth to be combined with the veggies and pork. The temperature was a bit off as well. It's a very small intimate place with no more than 6 tables and seating at the bar, but this setting is what makes this place so special. My favorite is the clever name "There" and the popcorn.
(4)Jim H.
Varied mix of tasty finger food. Very few places I have been offer such an experience. Don't let the Jackalope decor fool you. This is gourmet. Too bad the barkeep had to be so condescending, a common trait in this little mountain town. His colleague behind the bar was very nice and both actually provided great service.
(5)Lucie B.
while there is one of my favorite restaurants in telluride, i have to only give them 3 stars for crappy customer service. yes the steamed buns are good. yes the ramen is delish. yes the drinks are oh so tasty. but every night that i've been there since the new year, they are ALWAYS understaffed. my food order is never right -- i have to either a) remind them of a missing item or b) the missing item shows up 20 minutes after we've finished. smaller parties will get overlooked in favor of big parties EVERY time, even if you are sitting at the bar. the last night i visited, there was a giant party of 13 restaurant folks from nashville....let's just say that while my drinks & food order was slow to come out or forgotten, these folks were well taken care of. while there was one of my favorite restaurants in telluride, i am not going back due to the service & consistency. no thanks. maybe when they hire a 3rd person, it'll be worth coming back to.

This place is wonderful!!! The food was great the people were great and I don't have a bad word to say about this place. I would go there again in a heartbeat!! I wish there was a place like this closer to Denver.
(5)Andrey Z.
This is the best the town has to offer. Great food, really creative drinks. Bartenders are fantastic, chill atmosphere.

While walking by I was lured in by the promise of free popcorn. The first thought in my mind was, ha! these suckers are just giving away free food. This didnt appear to be a good business move. Man was I wrong, it was pretty much the most sly trick I have encountered in a while. The popcorn was like crack. It has roasted garlic in it. Whole cloves, which I discovered as I chomped into one from the bottom of the bag. Absolutely genius move, everybody should make popcorn this way. They have some really interesting drinks, some of which are cheap by Telluride standards at between $5 and $7. The food is quite good as well. Most items are for $4 for small single portions. I loved that they had ramen on the menu, but the broth could use some serious work. I would definitely go back if im in the the neighborhood. And I have already recommended this place to many other people.
(4)Zia W.
Never go There. The service was awful and rude. They told my group and I that their portions were "sharing size", but were so unbelievably small and cost a fortune. We immediately started planning where to go next to get an actual meal. This place is great if you are a hipster with no appetite.
(1)Shana W.
There was one of the highlights of our anniversary trip to Telluride. We almost didn't go because if the bad yelp reviews, but I'm glad we ignored them. If you're looking for a Jack and Coke, a cheap glass of meh wine, or subservient but indifferent bartenders, you should probably check out one of the gazillion other ski town bars around. These guys love what they do, and what they do is craft cocktails and interesting food. My husband is a cocktail hobbyist, so the experience of sitting at the bar geeking out with people who are really interested in quality booze and novel (and delicious) drink combinations made this into entertainment, not just a meal.
(5)Karen L.
The place is cute and the food is good, there's no denying that. But, HOLY CRAP! their service is to cry for! The first time I visit Telluride I was dying to go there because of the reviews here on how good their food was. I was slightly disappointed with the service because we were told the tables there were reserved already so we had to sit at the bar. No biggie although those stools they have are SO uncomfortable, but when you're there for about 45 minutes eating a few bites and having a few drinks and the tables remained empty it bothered me. Fast forward to a month later when I returned and saw how they're totally NOT kid friendly! I mean, come on baldie dude! you're in a town that survives solely on your tourists, smile a bit and be courteous to your clients! I brought in my two kids, asked for a table, once again was told they were reserved, so we had to sit at the bistro high tables, this guy took forever to come and ask for our order because his side conversation with his buddies was far more important, mind you my kids are hungry. When he finally comes by, so because he was taking too long I asked to take it to go, since he rolled back into his conversation with his friends, i figured we would be stuck there for a while trying to even get to pay for our food. I was extremely disappointed once again with the fact that we were there for again maybe 45 minutes, and of course... NO ONE showed up for his "reserved" tables. Too bad for me that I asked for food to go because this time, it wasn't good, I wouldn't given it back. I was beyond disappointed and definitely not pleased with the service provided. While we were there the look of disgust towards the children like "what is she doing here with kids" was bad enough to almost send me running out the door... but chill dude, its not like i took my kids to a bar! I will not return to this place to say the least, and definitely not recommend it to anyone.

Food was super. Small plates, but every single thing was delicious. Mixed drinks were great, and my husband appreciated the local beer offerings. The only weak link was the service/timing. Our waiter strongly urged us to order everything at once so they could set the appropriate pacing between each course, but then we waited way too long after the apps/veggies for the main course to arrive. Fortunately, it was the Kobe beef, which was AMAZING, right down to the salad it was sitting on. But after heeding the warning from our waiter, I was disappointed with the timing.
(4)Taylor A.
Super unique concept! I wish I had been able to try more of the cocktails. We initially stopped in for a drink and an appetizer but the food was so delicious we ended up just ordering a little more and calling it dinner. Cozy/casual atmosphere with classy delicious food and drink.
(5)Dalit T.
Love this little hidden gem! The king crab ceviche lettuce wrap is to die for. Next time, I'm getting like 40 of those!
(4)Lily T.
This place is meh for dinner. The popcorn and brussels sprouts were good but dinner was nothing special. The atmosphere is cute. Location is small. Drinks were good and I imagine that this place is really good for late night drinks with friends. If I'm ever back in telluride, I might drop by for some mules.
(3)Christina H.
A gem of a spot in Telluride to get a proper unique cocktail, a rare occurance indeed. There offered a unique limited menu which offered ramen, roasted peppers, and brunch fare. I had previously dined and only stopped in for a cocktail but was arrested by all of the delicious smells surrounding me from other patrons. The crowd was an eclectic mix of young people, old mountainy locals in their hiking gear, and a small family. I wish I could remember the name of the DELICIOUS drink I tried from their Black List drink menu. A definite must for travel in Telluride!
(4)David G.
We had one of the best meals in recent memory tonight. The food at There, and it's service, was just wonderful. This place is on our list for every visit to telluride, and we enthusiastically recommend.
(5)Brian R.
There is a small gastro pub that oozes with hipster vibe, and although it has its share of oddities, I'd recommend trying it. Location: Not located on Colorado Ave, where most of the Telluride restaurants and bars are. Don't let the location deter you though- It's in a small cluster of restaurants, including Siam, located a 5-10 minute walk from the town Gondola. Ambiance: Divey in appearance, but clean. The food menu looks like a comic book page, and the bartender will ring you up on his iPad. Food and Drink: I had the tempura shrimp ramen, which was filling. The broth was interesting and tasty- somewhat sweet and not too salty. Other than the Ramen, the menu items are generally small, so you'll probably want to order several items. There has a diverse collection of cocktails. The Diablo, with orange liqueur, lime, and some kind of chile, had a complex flavor, which the bartender accurately described as being sweet, salty, and spicy. Service: One bartender, who was quite responsive and friendly, served the patrons at the bar and at the tables. Two things were peculiar though. When the bartender took our order, he sat down at our table without asking. Call me conservative though, but I think if you're going to sit down at someone's table, you should get some kind of permission first. In fairness, should add that once he sat down, he was perfectly friendly. Also, the bill presentation seems to be a subtle way of pressuring customers into maximizing the tip. We were handed the bill on an iPad, which was no problem. But he asked us to select the tip on screen while he waited (sitting at our table of course). Also, the iPad allowed you to input your own tip amount, or select from one of three large buttons: 17%, 21%, or 27%.

Went back on 7/1 and still super impressed! Had several menu items and tried two new drinks. My favorite item was the duck buns. Our party of 4 got lucky and we were able to get a place to sit to accomodate all of us. I really enjoy that the bartendars join in on the conversations with their customers.Whenever I'm in Telluride, this is on my list to hit-up. Great vibe, great location a bit tucked away, great staff, great food and best of all - unique drinks!! Only annoying thing is there was a really awesome booth that sat 4, next to the window but it was reserved. However, it was reserved for about 1 1/2 until the ppl actually came in to use it. Boo!
(5)Donna P.
Awesome place. Classic Telluride feeling. Very well trained and personable staff. Cocktails are unique and delicious. Make a reservation if you want to eat as seating is limited. Our favorite thing is to tell them to just bring out food until we are full. You will be pleased AND impressed. Also, Brunch at THERE is a must.... I promise it is a unique, and over-the-top experience. Put it on your list.
(5)chris v.
Just the best in Telluride hands down. Great food, excellent service and perfect drinks. I would like to go daily.
(5)Brian W.
Food & Service did not even come close to the decor. Very cool looking place, I really enjoyed the design from the lighting fixtures, bar & stools... Now on to what really matters to me...Service or lack there of. I was disappointed, especially sitting at the bar for breakfast, there was minimal interaction on simply checking to see if the food was satisfactory.. more on that... hint... (tips are earned by great service.. not an entitlement) Food: Meh.. Moldy fruit and and a not so fluffy Frittata, 2 eggs & Lamb Chorizo @ $24, I know I am in Telluride.and operating expense are greater... but Quality and service is not so much... I hope you can look at this review for the feedback more than the criticism...
(2)dana v.
Excellent, and unexpectedly good value given its location in generally overpriced Telluride. Great pork ramen crammed with fresh vegetables, big enough for 2-3; buns which rival those at Momofuku ($4 each); fried brussels sprouts which changed one dining companion's mind about the vegetable; two bartender/servers operating at top speed and as one; apparent regulars twice invited to take shots off a ski ("shotski"). They were understaffed and we needed to wave a little to get attention, but service was otherwise very good and friendly.
(5)David P.
Don't go there unless you want to relentlessly bullied and harassed by an aggressive and intrusive wait-staff who relentlessly insists that you eat what they they want you to eat, when they want you to eat it and in which order. They were merciless. Avoid this place entirely or if you have to be there, remember to just stand up and leave when you've had enough of their scolding and insults. When we didn't order what they wanted, one waiter had a little tantrum. The one star was for the food which was okay.
(1)Hunter O.
Not really sure where to start because this place has so much damn good stuff going on. Huge Ramen bowls packed with goodness and flavor, steamed buns that I crave on a daily basis, innovative cocktails, classic cocktails, artisinal spirits from local distilleries, housemade punch with batavia arrack and a plethora of other amazingness, great specials like whole fish, kobe beef, etc... these guys even make there own ice cream for crying out loud. Oh, and how could I almost forgot the popcorn wich is more addicting than crack. When the owner Tyler found out that I was going to have to send my girl to a 12 step program to get her off the stuff he generously gave us the recipe. Thank you and thank you for having such a dope spot for us to hang out at!
(5)Lucia C.
I still dream about their shishito peppers - each one is like a bite of fried, crunchy, green heaven! The odds of getting an extremely spicy one is 10% - this makes an excellent drinking game. If this review was based on just those pepper, it was get 5 stars! However, based on their drinks and service though, I'm bringing it down a bit. This is one of those place where you would go at the end of the night when you can no longer taste your drinks... they're strong and pack a full blown punch. I had one of the "Jam Drinks" - Tequila mixed with Red Pepper Jelly and it definitely didn't met my flavor expectations. Only the jelly part of the drink was worth tasting - the rest of it was so strong, it was basically sipping straight tequila. Two of my friends got a Diablo (the $8 special of the night), and it tasted horrible - it was actually my 2nd choice since it had chile in it - the taste though was like engine oil mixed with a hint of orange. I applaud her for holding her nose and downing it like a champ. The service was also a bit neglectful - I ordered a second helping of the pepper which never came... so I never got my second taste of delicious fried-veggie heaven. They also took quite awhile before coming over to take our orders.

Best place to spend ur evening! U won't regret anything besides not going to this amazing place! Great drinks (very creative), great staff (they act like they want ur business and will go above and beyond to make sure ur good), great food (we tried a many things and loved everything), great owner (looks u in the eyes when u walk in and also was very generous to include dessert on the house)!! I wish more people had the audacity to open a place like this!
(5)Alyssa R.
This place is great. The Ramen is amazing (my favorite) and big enough for a full dinner. The popcorn is delicious and so are the brussel sprouts and potatoes bravas. The drinks can be pricey but are worth it - delicious, inventive and pack a punch. I very much appreciate that they offer a vegan menu and they now tell me they no longer offer tuna due to unsustainability - serious gold star in my book for being ethically responsible to our planet! They are dodging a bad review from me because the last time I went I was impressed by how they seemed to have fixed things that I saw as problems previously. Most of the negative reviews mention rude service and I've heard stories of people storming out from not being able to order a 'normal' non-specialty drink. I've had those experiences before but after this last visit I believe they may have taken those reviews to heart and fixed the issues because I was with my parents who ordered 'normal' drinks and they made them with no objection and a smile, and in general they were very friendly. Maybe it was the staff I had that night but any way around it the extra effort allowed me to fully enjoy what I love about this place and to spend time on yelp giving them the props I feel they deserve.
(4)Amber A.
Holy f**king amazing. Duck with spicy mayo on a mushu bun...heck yes! Popcorn spiced with deliciousness...yes please. Drinks from the black book of heaven...shut up and just go there. This place is tiny and phenomenal with kitchen cuisine and mixology to match. They make small plates jam packed with flavor and thoughtful cocktails that will keep you pleased. And don't forget to have a go at the jumbo Jenga outside.
(5)Z Z.
Do not go on a busy night! The servers are incapable of handling a busy crowd. They easily get overwhelmed and are rude and arrogant, especially the owner (bald guy). The food is good, but not good enough to deal with terrible customer service.
(2)Treacy B.
Because if I'm not here, I'm THERE! One of the only two places we ate for 12 days on my rainbow finding vacation. I found gold at the end of a rainbow in this spot I wish no one else ever knew about. Like it could be my very own private kitchen cozy eating drinking spot whenever I wanted. But, alas at the moment I am not wealthy enough to conjure up my dream to reality. So, I'll be nice and share. You either get There or you don't. If you don't get There while you are there, then don't go back there. Save this sweet delicious little spot for the rest of us that crave, dream and whisper There name in our sleep. Brunch pretty much rocks your socks off too! Popcorn, Srirachai , Chopsticks. 'nuf said!
(5)Sarra S.
Too cool for School... Not a comfortable experience for an actual laid back person. The food is good, but everything is so over priced, it doesn't sit so well after you depart.

Fred Astaire Ain't There By The Rue Saturday night popped into There, Went with my friend who isn't square, Steve Buschemi is in Con Air, My Jeep came with a full size spare, Rarely do I put on underwear, The ambience here doesn't compare, In my food there wasn't a hair, Before I eat I always say prayer, My friend got a martini on a dare, Tasted great, didn't see Rick Flair, North America is home to the black bear, The grilled cheese didn't leave me in dispair, The bathroom sink is awesome I declair, Wash your hand after peeing but beware, When the girls come in try not to stare, The Tinga Cuban you shouldn't share, It's so good it will make you swear, I never put my kids in day care, If I was forced to drink cider, it'd be pear, Diamonds aren't really all that rare, Grab a bar stool or sit in a chair, That chick on The Facts of Life was named Blair, Galloping Goose doesn't charge bus fare, The prices are decent, I was unaware, Of the variety of drinks so I did prepare, To try them all, fall down the stair, The cougar just stepped into my snare, I'll have to take her to my lair, With me I'm sure she'll have an affair, The Fresh Prince lives in Bel Aire, Off the windows the sun will glare, On the playground play foursquare, To eat here you don't have to be a billionaire, So when you're in town, get into THERE! 30K Millionaire!!
(4)Michelle Y.
Really a 3.5, but I'm bumping up my rating because I applaud the cool/eclectic ambiance and ballsiness to attempt contemporary asian fushion street food in a small town. The popcorn is crazy good. I can't remember if it had truffle or roasted garlic or anise or some combination of the aforementioned in there, but I wish I could eat that popcorn every day. Really tasty cocktails. The menu is a bit noisy and confusing, and though the food itself is pretty good (it was a nice surprise to find sweetnsoft bao served in CO), the portions were very small, and at least $60 worth of 'bites' + shareable entree still managed to leave my date and me borderline hungry. OH. Get the Pureed Parsnips. Creamy heaven i tell you.
(4)Jay J.
Excellent drinks, good food and nice atmosphere. A little pricey, especially on the drinks, otherwise a 5.
(4)David B.
Excellent food and drinks. The bartender is a real character and fun to chat with. If you go order a side of the Brussel sprouts. You won't be disappointed.
(5)Jeff D.
Arrogance and sloppy service has no place in Telluride! Having imbibed in a variety of small ski town establishments across America I know the difference between hip & cool and the pretenders. I stepped into There this week for a cocktail and waited patiently while the two bartenders attempted to serve drinks, host, and bus and serve customers; many of which were noticeably frustrated. After 10 minutes of this I raised my hand to make contact with one of the multi tasking "bartenders" who responded with a sarcastic "Hi" and turned away from me. Odd and annoying response I thought so I moved closer to where he was standing and when he finally looked at me I asked if he had Jack and diet. His answer was no and again he turned away from me and proceeded to catch up on something else apparently more important. Having eaten and cocktailed there in the past I knew there was nothing that special about the offerings to warrant such uncommon and misplaced behavior in Telluride. If they are attempting to replicate the fictitious "Soup Nazi" process from that famous TV comedy show the effect was lost on me. If you want to contrast There's pathetic approach to providing an enjoyable experience, busy or otherwise, you simply should walk across the street to Siam as those folks exemplify the meaning of great service, food & drink in a "cool" atmosphere. And no I don't work at or own Siam.
(1)Todd L.
Want a rum and coke? Go the f' somewhere else. Come here for excellent, serious cocktails. Bar menu is outstanding. Settle in with cocktails, enjoy round after round of excellent food. Don't miss: elk lettuce wrap, lamb stream bun, kobe beef, strawberry lemon sorbet.
(5)Jake S.
You know how we all love "mix-ologoists"? But you know how they're typically über-pretentious? This is a bar/restaurant that makes epic drinks and had an amazing menu, but with a friendly staff. The place's vibe has an old-timey, speakeasy, but hip atmosphere. The bar-tenders were amazingly kind and answered our 100+ questions about their multiple menus with smiles on their face. The popcorn was immaculately seasoned (I'm a popcorn monster) and although we weren't very hungry, we were talked into a light dessert platter that was heavenly. Oreo cookie with small splat of ice cream, parmesan cheese with honey, granny smith apples with maple syrup and strawberries with lemon sorbet. 5 nights in Telluride and I'm positive I'll be back almost every night.
(5)Mark W.
We went to There on a Monday evening and had a great time. The atmosphere is loud and fun. The service was great, I had ordered a pork and pickles steamed bun and received a duck steamed bun by mistake. I told our server and he took care of it immediately and I received the correct steamed bun. BTW both steamed buns were excellent. My wife ordered the Date and Cheese lettuce wrap and it was great as well. The Potatoes Bravas was our favorite item of the night. We really thought the portion size is on par with other higher end restaurants. Overall, we really liked the food and experience at There. If you are looking for a quiet and intimate experience There is not that experience. If you are looking for great drinks, great food, and fun loud atmosphere There is for you.
(5)Nora C.
Grumpy from a long drive upon arrival. IMMEDIATELY subsided after a fresh grapefruit martini. Small plates - DEVOURED. Really didn't expect the level of cuisine in this cozy bar like atmos. Recommended to friends, family and EVERYONE we met on the lifts @ Telluride! Keep it going, we'll be back for Blugrass Fest!
(4)Sarah F.
The Momofuku of the Rockies. Amazing cocktails, great food, lovely waitstaff. Order one of everything.
(5)Tim S.
We went here on our last night in town. We were not super hungry but wanted a bite to eat, we checked Yelp, as always, and decided to give this place a try based on the positive reviews. We weren't disappointed! There is a certain ultra cool vibe to this place....hipness rules. The cocktail list is lengthy and rather funky, but we finally decided on the belini martini. Its pricey, but tasty! The lettuce wraps (elk) was the best so good we had a second order, we also ordered the duck steamed buns, also quite tasty. The miso glazed eggplant was supurb..even at $10.00 an order. The only slight disappointment was the chicken meatball kushiyaki, it tasted all right, but didn't feel the amount of food was worth the $7.00 price tag. The service was great, I'm glad we came on an off night. We even had a chance to meet the owner as we left. I've never paid a bill via a server's I-Pad, wow... like the entire restaurant/bar... HOW COOL IS THAT?
(5)Greg S.
Cool place. We only had a few drinks here after having dinner elsewhere, but the atmosphere was cool and the drinks were cold. The free popcorn is a nice feature, however, it has a unique taste, which I grew to love after a few sips of my jam drink.
(4)Sue H.
There is superb, creative, brilliantly composed--and all those compliments apply to the food, decor, and tone of this place. Enjoyed brunch there during film fest. Had a jumbo shrimp and parmesan polenta dish that was transcendent. My friend's huevos was also perfect. And the range of prices and types of fare offers something for everyone. Loved meeting the female member of the owner team, and I love how this place cultivates its brand from end to end. Best example? Surprise truffle popcorn while waiting in a ticket line. Yum!
(4)Richard H.
Odd kind of place but Jerry the mixologist looked like a magic act in his preparations. You should be on tv Jerry! We all left pretty s***faced!
(5)Nicole G.
Terrible service. The owner, Tyler, publicly insults his customers by arrogantly belittling their taste. As a telluride local, i would certainly NOT suggest this place to anyone. This is, in no way, a reflection of the awesome, laid-back Telluride service industry.
(1)Amy A.
Absolutely LOVE this place!! Unique, fun, friendly, perfect. We were there for Pia's last night :( she's WONDERFUL! But I'm sure all of the other servers are just as fantastic :) be sure to try everything! You don't want to miss out!
(5)Bill B.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant/bar in Telluride. It is the sort of restaurant that feels like home from the moment you walk in. Well home with a well stocked bar and some of the best small plate food you can dish up oh and really cool people too. The service was beyond exceptional. Tyler and the gang really take care of you and make you feel welcome. This is one of those places you will want to bring your friends to and order some of everything and share. The duck steamed buns were divine, the Shishito Peppers, Mushrooms and Shortrubs were superb but the Brussel Sprouts were a surprise knockout. Honestly there was nothing I didn't like there. I am just wishing we had one here. We actually went back a second time in the same with other friends. It is that good. The prices are reasonable but you can spend quite a bit as well.

Not sure how to rate it - because the drinks were really really good. Try the grapefruit, gin, St. Germain, lime. Outstanding. But such a Serious attitude from the owner spoiled our experience...loved the other bartender and the other patrons at the bar. Popcorn was okay. The other apps were good as well. Decided to move on to 221/ The bistro. The bartender at 221 - Simon was great. Also...he seems to have a bad rep. with other locals - a serious NY attitude in a small CO town. Weird.

Night after Film Festival and we made reservations for six at one of the two regular tables. I love that when you call them they answer "Hello there," After trying an assortment of amazing martinis (and I am not a drinker) we just asked the server to select for us. He kept bringing an amazing assortment of food including spicy tuna and hamachi on tostadas, elk lettuce wrap, amazing brussell sprouts, potatoes bravas, heirloom tomatoes, pork ribs, sprouts, and more I can't remember, topped by a platter of sorbet in sliced strawberries, oreos topped with vanilla ice cream cheese and apples. A huge amount of food plus drinks came to about $50 a person including tip. Not cheap but in this town it is in the lower range.

Fortunately the first restaurant we intended to visit was closed because then we may not have experienced There! We were on the early side so we were the only customers for a little while. The wait staff was attentive and friendly - we loved the personal attention we received. We received a detailed description of all the menu items and settled on some apps, the spicy tuna tostada, duck steamed bun, Kobe beef kushiyaki and duck Ramen. Oh boy were we happy. The waiter very craftily asked us to try the brussel sprouts (one of my least favorite foods ever). Mmmm mmmm they were so delicious. I can't remember how they were prepared but the leaves were marinated in a delicious Asian-type mixture and flash fried - Wow! Okay, so let me tell you about the 2 favorite items, the kushiyaki and the Ramen, definitely try them! So yummy and fresh... We loved the unique twist to chef took with the items - spot on. If you are in Telluride and are willing to venture off the beaten path - definitely try this place, you won't be disappointed.

This is an oasis in a sea of mediocre reatuarants and bars. Small and intimate, the drinks are inventive and the food is delectable. The highlight was a Kobe beef salad which was one of the best things we have ever ordered. This is an unexpected gem where everything is artisanal and special. All at a reasonable price!

I love the entire idea of this place! The cocktails are gourmet, the apps are tapas style and the entree was just the perfect size. You feel like you're at a friends house that happens to have a small cafe in her basement. Can't wait to visit again!

Hippster cool has arrived! I will return for the coctails alone. They had an amazing selection of custom drinks that were like nothing I have ever drank! The food was good, not great, but tasty and different. My biggest complaint with the food was the price per size ratio and the fact that everything came out a little cold. Overall all though I would return!

Wonderful ambiance, service, food and drinks. I dream of this place. If expect huge portions and cheap prices, go somewhere else though. Brussels, steamed buns, and brunch items are to die for. The Ramen was good, but it was not my favorite considering the $14 price. Bottom line, eat here!

Great atmosphere in this small but comfortable place. The shishito peppers are a must. Perfectly cooked and salted. The diablo cocktail is also a great choice with a wonderful smoky and spicy flavor. Plus free popcorn!!

"There" has the best wine by the glass list in Telluride, which is an important thing to know if you are a wine drinker visiting the town. We found that most other bars and restaurants (and we visited LOTS of them in our 5 days in Telluride) feature rather low quality wines by the glass at very high prices. The one exception is the Sheridan Chop House that offers up Rombauer Chardonnay by the glass, but at $20 per. Wow. There has a creative, reasonably priced (by Telluride standards) glass list covering a wide range of reds, pinks, whites, and bubbles. It's quite small and hard to find (best idea is to find Siam Restaurant then ask for directions - There is just across the street) but well worth seeking out. Although the wine list is great they are even more well known for their creative cocktails and proud of their mixologists. Since we're wine drinkers we didn't sample anything else but the list looked quite interesting. There also serves small plates of fusion-type cuisine but we were just there for drinks so can't comment on that. Other than the free popcorn is to die for.

I have high expectations of a town as awesome and pricey as Telluride and this place beat my expectations. Their cocktails are very thoughtful, and the staff is definitely into what they do. We didn't eat while we were there, but I took a look at the menu and love the concept. I feel like when a menu only has a couple items, they are usually done well and speaking with the owner makes me think my theory is true. We also enjoyed playing music from their iPad and a round of Mad Libs. I'll definitely go back here (There) during future trips to Telluride and recommend it to those visiting.

This place is a bit off the beaten path and definitely worth looking for. We almost missed it. I saw the excellent reviews on Yelp and wanted to try it out. We had a great time sampling drinks from the menu and the food was unique and tasty. The bartender was working the entire place (although small) with a smile! He gave us fresh popped popcorn then suggested a few apps and drinks. All were excellent. Give this place a try - it's cool. Just look for the pink flamingos.

A little off the beaten path in the West end of Telluride, but worth finding. Small, but interesting menu of food and drinks. An "experience" in dining. Have fun with the menu and enjoy it's uniqueness in an already unique town. The owner won't stay for long in town with this type of creativity. He'll be moving onto to the "big" time. Enjoy him while he's there.

Best cocktails in town hands down! Food is amazing, big fan of their new brunch on the weekends! Owner and staff and very friendly - Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

This is the first review I've ever written for a restaurant. Working in a 5 star/5 diamond restaurant, I know how impressed one must be to take the time out of their day to write a review. That being said, I was blown away by how great this place was! My wife and I caught breakfast there as I had noticed the word "brunch" written on the window the night before while we rode the Galloping Goose and it was within walking distance of where we were staying. Our server was extremely nice and personable! We never felt rushed or ignored. I ordered the steak and eggs and my wife had eggs and chorizo. When it comes to eating out, I eat in two styles, grubbing and savoring. With my steak and eggs, I savored every single bite! The steak was perfectly salt and peppered (which is huge!) and cooked. It was finished with a pesto that worked very well with the steak and also a sunny side up egg which also was perfect! All components combined together, I was amazed! The popcorn that was complimentary was ridiculously good! It was finished with mystery spices but I couldn't stop eating it even though I wasn't thrilled by it at first. We sent my wife's plate back because she didn't prefer the egg preparation, but the wait didn't damper our breakfast. We both peeked at the dishes the table next to us ordered as it was delivered and were envious! The next day, we made the mistake of wanting to try somewhere different. We waited almost 45 minutes for our bland food, a horrible Irish coffee, the most unorganized restaurant I have ever been in, and the guests were confused. It was like the wild west in there. My wife and I kept telling each other "We should have went to back to the place we ate at yesterday." Our food arrived right as I was gonna ask if they had forgotten about us and cancel our order. I will never forget the breakfast we had at There! When we visit Telluride again, we both agreed that we will eat breakfast there every morning! I can honestly say that besides the food at my restaurant, this is hands down the best restaurant food I have ever had! We've paid twice as much for dinner plenty of times and it doesn't compare to There! You also cannot beat having He-Man and Rainbow Brite menus.

Loved this place. Cozy, nice people, friendly staff and amazing food and drinks. We will be back on our next visit.

Great find in West End. The hand crafted cocktails were amazing (be sure to try Tyler's Bloody Mary) and the food included locally sourced charcuterie and artisanal cheeses. Small, eclectic interior and super friendly staff equals a cozy, comfortable hangout. Makes a great post-hike stop in the afternoon and even better late night spot. Don't miss it!

This place is great - can't believe I didn't see it on here anywhere! Its tiny, located on the west end of town. But apparently has some of the apps from Siam, but without the wait or pretentiousness. Steamed buns (pork, duck, etc), ramen, sashimi tostadas, what more can you ask for? Plus one of the places serving food late night in town! Smaller beer selection but all top notch, plus great mixed drinks. Really nice, intimate setting, a great place to kick back cocktails and snarf tasty food. And if you're lucky.....really, really, lucky.....ask for the light sabers. Yes, you read right. Light sabers. We saw them stuck in the corner, and asked, wow, are those light sabers? The bartender proceeds to hand us 2 light sabers, helmets, and we walk outside for an ad hoc light saber battle! Let me tell you, at 1 am, what is better than light saber battles? Nothing! Worthwhile for just that alone....or the food. Or the great drinks. Yea, all of the above.

Lychee cranberry and lime juice, hamachi tostada, shitake steamed bao bun, crispy duck, jerk salmon lettuce wrap, curry beef tofu skin wrap, crispy tofu wrap w peanut sauce. All heaven. Do not miss this place if you are a food nut.
