We stopped here for a late lunch. All four in our group ordered burgers. I don't think anyone was very impressed with their mea. In all the food was just ok, the service was just ok and the restroom was surprisingly dirty. We should have stuck with pizza across the street.

This place probably deserves 4 stars for a great ski resort spot. I had a bad order- the chicken salad salad. It's my fault that I was expecting hot chicken in a mayo based marinade when I should have expected a glob of cold chicken salad. The real problem was it was totally overly mayo-ey and flavorless. The lettuce, tomatoes, and dressing were fresh and yummy though. My friends shared their burgers with me, which were DELICIOUS. Cooked perfectly medium rare on nice buns. Their happy hour special looks great. Beer is very reasonably priced during non-happy hour too. Also, very friendly staff.
(3)Matthew D.
Great happy hour deals on sliders & fries. Make a good cocktail and lots of fancy drafts
(4)Riley R.
Great beer and a solid menu. Pulled pork burrito was fantastic. Very friendly and attentive service. Will always visit whenever I'm back in town.
(5)Rick A.
Had the Frenchy Burger. Carmelized onions and gruyere cheese. Cooked just right but a little lite on the cheese. Great fires lightly salted and an excellent bun. As others have mentioned very close to the movie house and I will stop here for either a pre or post movie meal. Happy hour is from 1400 to 1800. They have special menu then so you could catch the early show. Friendly and efficient waitstaff. BTW, the best Arnold Palmer (aka Jasper in Steamboat) in town. I will stop again.

My wife and I had dinner here a few nights ago before catching a movie. The staff was friendly. The decor is what I'd call sleepy rustic. Maybe the lighting needs to be tweaked. Rustic is cool if it's interesting. There are booths, tables and a bar. Our table was way to close to the very visible restroom, not cool. Restaurants should try to hide your restroom doors if you're putting tables near them. My wife had the Spinach Salad. It seemed fresh, but she said it wasn't that great because it had an oily/greasy texture to it. She couldn't finish it. I had the hula burger with fries. Burger was over cooked, dry, and had very little flavor. I expect a great tasting burger for $12, but this place did not deliver. The burger was served open face with a slice of pineapple on the patty smothered in an over abundance of a pretty tasteless BBQ sauce. The bun was very good. After eating about 3/4 of the burger I was pretty burned out, didn't finish it. They hype the fries, cut fresh daily. Unfortunately the order I was served had way too much salt. I like salt on fries, but this was brutal. I have to assume that on this night no one in the kitchen was checking the quality of the taste and seasoning? The service we had at our table was fine, no issues there. So to sum it up... Service = Decent for Steamboat standards Food = Needs a lot of work Location = Great if you're going to a movie next door. It's good to see someone giving it a go at this location. I hope they figure it out and are successful.
(2)Jeremy B.
Very friendly place. happy hour specials were great. Loved the spicy fries. Great beer specials and beer selection. Lots of CO beers on tap

The Rusted Porch is new; just opened in the fall of 2011. Great location in the Wildhorse Marketplace, near the movie theater. Serving all day, including breakfast. Cozy space is a mix of a sports bar, upscale burger joint, "fast casual," and western cafe. The staff are upbeat, outgoing and attentive. Menu features a variety of interesting salads and burgers. We were there for a quick dinner last week and tried Carrot Soup (great), Schnitzel, and Chile (made with steak; very good!).
(4)Shawna A.
Soooo amazing!! Bacon garlic fingers are a must! And I had the porch pounder w onions delish!! I am an avid hamburgler / and I can truly say it was fantastic. My 9 y/o loved the New England clam Chowder as well!!
(5)Nate K.
I thought the burgers were pretty good.. Fries are great.. Drinks are good and staff is very good.
(3)Sean E.
Thank goodness someone is doing hand cut fries! I go there just for that. I got a burger, once. If I send an ordered-rare burger back because it came out to me black & crispy, you're welcome to send me a raw burger & on my head be it. Dont send another black & crispy. Great fries. Simple, great, fries.
(2)Mark W.
We have been here twice now for lunch and/or sliders. Everything we have had was excellent. Nice casual restaurant and bar with friendly wait staff. We will definitely be back......

TL:DR - Food ok, Service bad Sunday night in the off season. Our group of 4 walked in and nobody was there to greet us, so we just stood there looking around until the bartender told us to seat ourselves. It took another few minutes until anyone came over to our table, but finally we got some menus and water. The waitress told me that their margarita was made with fresh squeezed lime, but after tasting the first sip, it was clearly made with sweet and sour mix. OK, fine. She then proceeds to take our order without pen or paper. We all knew this was a recipe for disaster in a place like this. She gets our appetizer right, but the dirty plates from those end up staying on our table until we leave. Of course, she gets my order wrong. Again, not a big deal, but there was no real attempt to make it better, and ultimately, nothing is taken off the bill either. The food was decent for what the place is, but we hardly saw any employees, and another table had to physically get up with their check and chase our waitress down to pay. Unless management decides to check in occasionally, this place is destined for failure.
(2)Jesse M.
Good selection of beers. Excellent bar type of food, they take great pride with their service.
(4)Chris H.
Poutine!!! Great drinks, the kids loved it and friendly, helpful waitstaff. We visited during happy hour and were pleased, but could only imagine what the prices would be during prime time.
(4)Ben N.
Food was above average, but service was detached. Atmosphere is somewhat lacking.
(3)Guy C.
The atmosphere was friendly and the Ahi Tuna salad was great. Friendly service from Christina behind the bar. Prices are reasonable and the portion size was perfect.
(4)Allie C.
The food overall was good, but the lemon- garlic fries were way over powering and it took too long to get a glass if water.
(3)Joe S.
Big booths to accommodate our all ages table of eight. Friendly service and right across from the new movie theater.
(4)Sammi P.
You have to try the veggie burger (made on site) with the spa salad. Totally the way to go....yum!
(5)R M.
The crusted porch is nothing marvelous like most new restaurants in this town. We had the bacon and bleu burger and the pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork was moist but was skimpy on the amount of meat on the bun. The bacon burger not great...just ok and there was almost no bleu cheese. The brioche buns were the best part of our meal. Our waiter was ok but failed to make eye contact as he took our order. Our experience was 1.5 stars at best. There are better burger joints in town and they don't cost $12.
(2)Claire P.
We found this place through Yelp, and we're not disappointed!! This place had some of the best burgers I've ever had. They also offered lettuce wraps, which was great because we are gluten-free. Their fries were homemade looking, crispy, and delicious. The atmosphere was friendly and mountainous. The only thing I would add is that the temperature was a bit cold in there- it did not spoil our meal though. I highly reccomend the rusted porch!
(5)Shad S.
Good place to grab a burger, fries and drink. Not too expensive and good service.

So when a restaurant has a calling card of Burgers, Bacon and Beer what is there not to love and get your attention. We went to The Rusted Porch based on the sample menu in the Steamboat Dinners Guide, and because the location did not require us to go downtown. When I was looking at the sample menu, i was eyeing the Green Chile BLTA which involves 5 slices of bacon, green chiles, avocado, cheddar cheese and chipotle mayo. MMM now I want to go back. Once we got the restaurant and looked at the full menu my wife and I decided to order two dishes and eat family style. The first was to enjoy clogging our arteries and the second was to rid ourselves of the guilt from eating the first. So what did we have, we had the Ultimate Gilled Cheese, brie, smoked gouda, cheddar cheese and parmesan crusted artisan bread. Yes that is four cheeses in one sandwich. They took well balanced portions of brie, smoked gouda and cheddar and placed it in the bread, then crusted the bread with parmesan cheese before putting it on a flattop to melt everything together. This was very good, but I think that half was all I could eat so our plan worked perfectly. The other dish was the Mediterranean salad where the chef blended Israeli couscous with Quinoa and placed it in the middle of a large bowl. Then surrounded it with tomato, red bell pepper, cucumber, red onion, kalamata olives and feta. This was all served with a lemon vinaigrette. I blended the salad together and dressed it with about half of the dressing and it was great. My wife has been talking about it all day, and who know we may be going back to get it again before we leave. We topped our meal of with their Perfect Margarita which is a good description for it. They were delicious and you knew that you were actually having a drink and not just a mixer. We enjoyed our dinner here, and while it is not located in the fancy downtown area, this is really a good find.

After my husband's disappointing burger at Rex's, we tried this place. He was very very happy with his burger at The Rusted Porch. According to our super sweet server it's what they do best and she's right. I had a house salad (just fine) and a bizarre falafel with cornichorn pickles in it (?), and a mystery sauce. All in all, a strong starter for good burgers, but don't experiment with other stuff. (Not the cleanest place...greasy menus and water stained cutlery.)
(3)Jodi O.
The food is excellent as is the service. My new favorite dish is the artichoke dip. It is to die for!
(5)Patty G.
I've eaten here several times and the veggie burger is delicious. However, when we walked in last week, there was a strong unpleasant smell coming from the bar. Looking around, I noticed that the carpet was also filthy and the place is in desperate need of a deep clean. I wanted to leave, but we decided to sit down and eat. I could barely get my food down because of the smell. If they clean up the place, I will eat here again.
(3)Byron B.
Burgers, bacon, and beer pretty much sums it up. I like the rusted porch and have visited several times, but can't give more than 3 stars due to the inconsistency. Some of the highlights are the thick bacon, tasty burgers, good beer selection, natural redbird chicken, a killer grilled cheese, and awesome ugly cake. The low points are hit and miss waittstaff, inconsistent meat cooking temperatures, poor kids meal values, and unpredictable music volumes. When this place is good it is really good, but when it is ofg, you just want to get a check and get out. I still will visit, as the ugly cake and grilled cheese sandwiches are hard to beat.
(3)Sreeram K.
I'm not the type of person to jump at the sight of a burger joint, but this place was excellent! I ordered the veggie burger with fresh jalapeños and smoked Gouda cheese, and absolutely adored it! The lemon-garlic Parmesan fries were superb, as well as the garlic aioli sauce that came with them. Five stars from this critic, for sure!
(5)Talia H.
We had a tasty and quick meal here. Nothing crazy or to write home about but good, solid, quick food. Lots to choose from and pretty fast service. We did go in during the off-season but still, it was great. A nice alternative to heading downtown. My husband had a chicken salad and I had a burger. Fries were tasty. All in all, good meal!
(4)Joseph T.
Bacon/artichoke appetizer is amazing. We ate as a family - kids devoured their meals (a rare occasion) and we both very much enjoyed our salads. The server was terrific and let us move inside when the kids got a bit chilly on the patio. They also had crayons/paper/toys for the youngsters while plenty of sports on TV. Very happy with this place!
(4)Jen R.
We had a great rest stop here on a road trip from Aransas Pass, TX to Port Townsend, WA. Road weary & hungry, we came in to a great welcome, good service, homey atmosphere and foodly sustenance. Would highly recommend you come in & try this place. There's a great patio (unfortunately, the rain prevented us from trying it out). If we'd been vacationing here, it would have been a regular stop during our stay and will definitely be back next time on our annual pilgrimage.
(5)Kimberly A.
The boys came for the best burgers in Steamboat. They loved them. The Mediterranean Naan was really tasty. My Garden of Eden had great contents but would have liked a little Feta. Atmosphere is much nicer than the crowds of downtown Steamboat.
(4)Anna G.
OH EM GEE. We hit this place on our last night in steamboat as kind of a last resort/ we don't want to spend much more money/ we don't want to go to another overpriced restaurant downtown. It's in a great location if you are staying at the base of the mtn. You'll still have to drive but it's much better than downtown. They were not busy at all, which worried me...so we had our pick of the place. Now, I was craving burgers that night and to be fair I'm pregnant so everything tastes so much better to me but these burger BLEW ME AWAY. They really hit the spot. And the french fries. Dear lord the french fries. I'm so glad I don't live near this place or I would be here every night for the fries. We kept the bill under 40 for the both of us (hubby got drinks) and we walked out happy. I will definitely be back next time we are in town!
(5)Liz P.
If there was a 2.5 I would give it that only because of the dirty atmosphere, greasy menus and so so waitstaff. Its just ok. I always know there is a problem when you have just ordered a pretty uneventful sandwich (the BLT) and the wait staff says "watch out the plate is hot" ok was it under the heat lamps too long? If you have the BLT tell them to hold the grease I could not have had greasier bacon if I deep fried it and dipped it in oil, oh that is probably what happened and the fries were just short little pieces (bottom of bag) left over??? not sure. The burger was ok but the place could use some cleaning for sure and some updates on the few items they offer.
(3)Nathan G.
Good beer. Good service and good food. A fun place.

My husband, four kids and myself had spent most of the day at the hot springs in town and were looking for a good, relaxing place to eat and fill up for our last day in town. After some searching on a few sites, we came across The Rusted Porch. It was a sign! We got in and were met by a lovely young lady that seated us in a booth large enough to fit 6 people comfortably. Then we settled in for our meals. First: The appetizers: *Mediterranean Flatbread Crispy crust | Kalamata olives | artichoke hearts | tomato | red onion | red bell pepper | feta cheese | oregano ~Delicious! Like our waitress said... it's like a healthy pizza. I am NOT a feta cheese person, however the artichoke hearts and feta together create this flavorful combination that is a MUST try.~ *Bacon Artichoke Dip Fresh spinach | bacon | artichoke hearts | cream cheese | Parmesan | Breadworks bread boule ~Bacon, Artichoke, cheese and a bread that is perfectly crisp. It's perfect, I need the recipe and a chef to live with me that can make this!~ Second: Meals My 13 year old had the Bacon & Blue. She was in heaven, the bacon was extra crispy (her request), the blue cheese had the perfect amount of bite and her eyes are bigger than her stomach. These burgers are huge, you have been warned. My husband had the Grilled Cheese & Bacon Double Cheeseburger Grilled cheese sandwich | five slices of bacon | two burger patties | two slices of Cheddar cheese and a second grilled cheese sandwich. It was insanity in burger. He loved it, now, he got a fat cramp from it, but he said it was the best way to eat a burger, with the cheese already melted :) The staff was beautiful, fun, very talkative and great people to relax with. This is a MUST stop in Steamboat! Go in and have a few drinks, it's as good as it gets up there!
(5)Katherine Z.
We just enjoyed a really nice dinner at the Rusted Porch. The service was very attentive and spot on. One of our group ordered a salad and about five minutes after beginning to munch on it, the server brought another salad, saying that they had brought the wrong one to the table. (We did not even realize it was the wrong salad). They insisted we keep both! Each of our meals were flavorful and plentiful. Our party of four would return in a heartbeat!
(4)Joni I.
Typical bar food...burgers, fries, beer. Happy hour drink & food specials. Sliders for only $2.29. Since I'm no beer fan tried their hard pineapple cider. It was delish.
(3)Ken K.
This review is for the chicken strips, the service, and laid back atmosphere. You have not had a chicken strip until you have had a Rusted Porch chicken strip, period! Very lightly battered on the outside, perfectly cooked, very little residual oil left on the food....they are not frozen....Fresh! Service: our part time server was just great...she's in healthcare by day, and the best server in town when she is here. We had an extra order of the strips because they were so exemplary. Don't hesitate, just go!
(5)Bryan B.
Had the Porch Pounder, one of the best burgers I've ever had; period. The bacon is unbelievable - very sweet and soft yet totally crispy at the same time, perfect. Oh and the Nitro is 1000x's better on tap than the bottle, perfect compliment for this meal. I wasn't even hungry when I came in. Staff was low key and nice. I liked the music too. Oh and they have the best Moscow Mule in the state.
(5)Jerry G.
Worst burger in years! The bun dripped with greasy oil and there was a puddle of the grease on my plate. The lemon garlic fries were so slathered in the seasoning it hurt my mouth. There is such a thing as too much. The flavor is an interesting idea but hints of flavor speak more than drowning in it. Service was ok, girl was nice but not very attentive. Provided me water but never refilled it, seemed apathetic to my complaint about the food when asked. If you don't care about your customer's satisfaction then don't ask how their meal was. Where I'm from a $16 burger should be amazing! Instead I'm bent over with stomach pains. Oh and not that this is a fault of the establishment, but a local drunk decided to strike up a conversation with is twice during our visit. Not a place I'll re-visit.
(1)Monica V.
Great place to have a beer and a burger. The fries were disappointing but I still rated them a 4 for their delicious burgers and the red ale was yum.
(4)Kevin B.
Great food, service and atmosphere. The ample supply of bacon on my burger was fantastic. Would definitely go back when in town. Very friendly staff.
(5)Keri C.
RUSTED PORCH 12/21/14 at 7pm RAW CHICKEN!!!! Please know, if management wasn't so rude- you wouldn't be hearing a peep out of me but Rusted Porch was in Poor Form. I will be posting on any and all other social media cause it was THAT BAD! Inexcusable! Hope we don't get sick this close to Christmas. They offered us a free dessert! We had one other meal on the ticket and they charged us for everything except the RAW Chicken. Seriously?!? I wish I could post the picture cause it was RAW!!!! RAW!!!! RAW!!! Ugggh
(1)L B.
Soooo good! I had the green chile BLTA - although it took some crushing maneuvers to actually fit in my mouth, it was an extraordinary meal!! The lemon garlic fries are awesome too.
(5)Michele S.
Good burgers, fries and beer. No waiting great wait staff and nice outdoor area. Had live music the night we ate there. Family friendly.
(4)M S.
The service was great here and the food was tasty. I ordered the ultimate grilled cheese with poutine fries, which was good but proved to be too much cheese altogether.
(4)Amy P.
Great place, great food, awesome staff! I had the BLT with lemon garlic fries. The bacon had an amazing smokey flavor and the fries were really good but a little too much lemon for me unless you dipped them in the sauce or ketchup. I also had a bite of my kids meals and they were really good and they both loved them. Their favorite place in Steamboat.
(4)Julie K.
Was disappointed in their food. Waitstaff was great though. Maybe better to sit at the bar.
(2)Anonymous A.
The lemon fries are excellent. So was the Bacon blue cheese burger, however stear clear of the pulled pork sandwich. The sauce as well as the pork, are watery.we had a good time service was great. Staff is very friendly.
(4)Megan G.
Delicious place to eat. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We watched a movie at the theater across the street and then had dinner and drinks here. The food was excellent and great selection of beer on tap. We will be back!
(5)Meredith G.
I am pretty certain my burger was amazing and it wasn't the fact that I'd just come from a biking and hiking outing. Great patio with coverage from the sun and lots of flowers. They have a lunch special, $6 burger or chicken sandwich + toppings, with fries. I got Brie & caramelized onions on my burger and I ate everything on my plate. I wasn't hungry for 8 hours. No joke. I also enjoyed a marg. It was decent. Friendly staff and clean bathrooms are a plus too.
(5)Michele L.
Great burger place! Yummy fries! We tried the buffalo fries and the lemon garlic! Since no gluten free bun available, I got a naked black n blue burger. Portions good size. Wine selection good. Atmosphere and music in background made a perfect dinner for my family and friends to meet. Service was great too!
(4)David T.
We visited this restaurant on our first day in Steamboat. The food and service were good. The atmosphere was relaxed and warm. I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was really good! We really liked the variety of french fries. We varied it up and each ordered different fries with our meal. The lemon garlic fries were awesome. The poutan fries were good too. I recommend this place as a good choice when visiting Steamboat Springs.
(4)Z K.
So I saw this place when I was checking in nearby for my condo. Had a bacon & blue burger, it was fantastic! The bun is yum, its one of those pretzel kind of buns. Fries were fries, we just had the regular ones....however they have a lot of choices to mix up the fry if thats how you like it! Good beers on tap, lots of micro brews! Sat at the bar, had great service and got to chat with the bartender and other visitors, made for a great lunch! Minus 1 star because of the soup. I had broccoli cheese soup and it was curdled. I didn't say anything, I just pushed it aside and ate the burger instead :)
(4)Stephen S.
Went for dinner tonight! Good service, very friendly. Good beer. Got bacon spinach dip for app. It's was good. Wife got soup and salad. I had BLTA, it's a pretty good place with a nice atmosphere. I would return.
(4)Brett B.
The good news... The burger was pretty good, but a little pricey for a burger. The bad news, the service here was awful. I mean "couldn't have made it up" bad. We were sitting on the patio and it started raining, and they gave us a hard time for wanting to move tables. I would not recommend this place. Sorry.
(2)Barb B.
The beer and our appetizer were good. However, it seemed like there was some kind of something going on with the staff. It just felt like the air was pretty stiff. Not a fun kind of place. Maybe it was just an off day. Although we did like our beer & app, I doubt we'd go back. We're looking for a fun time when we go out and it sure wasn't here.
(3)Rich S.
Sunday breakfast was great but kitchen was very slow. Came back for dinner and the service, drinks and burgers were fantastic.
(4)Bill M.
We enjoyed the sausage sampler platter and the falafel. Good choice of beers. Next time I visit. You'll find me there for dinner Good job guys.
(5)Michelle G.
Adequate food in a casual atmosphere. We came here for a casual dinner and it was acceptable. I would avoid the lemon garlic fries as they are drowned in bottled lemon juice and then covered in garlic powder. As a result, they are inedible. Service was fine.
(2)Dani A.
It was our first trip to Steamboat and we were looking for a relaxing dinner of beer and burgers. We chose this place because of the "patio" atmosphere. The patio was full when we arrived, but we wanted to sit outside (a request we told to two hostesses who helped us) and we said we would wait until a table opened - we were very clear. Then one hostess insisted we sit at the bar to wait. After hesitating, we did. About 10 minutes later I watched the hostess clean off a table outside and was waiting for her to come get us when she escorted another couple to the table. I went to ask what happened because we had been there first and whether we could get the next open table and they were confused, brainless, and then eventually mentioned they had "forgotten" about us in the 10-minute time span. It was unacceptable, and even though they apologized, they did not make up for the problem in anyway except making us uncomfortable. It was even more insulting because the hostess insisted we sit at the bar when we were okay waiting by the hostess stand. We're fairly laid back people and we hate to be fussy, but being treated this way really ruined our dinner and left me yearning to take my money somewhere else. The staff seemed to have horrible communication amongst themselves and seemed rundown, both of which shouldn't become the customer's problem. Our waiter only came by for our order, but otherwise didn't offer or bring us water and was nowhere to be found to order a second beer or get the check when we finished. The bartender seemed to be the only one who had it together, even though she was answering phones constantly in trying to do her other duties (all of which she handled well). We had a burger and a salad. The food was decent (I especially liked the "buffalo chicken" salad). Because of the way were treated, we won't be coming back.
(2)Julie R.
Stopped for a break and some lunch while traveling. Great atmosphere. Our waitress was sweet, funny and knowledgable. Both she and the cooks were well versed in gluten and dairy free choices. We had three adults and three kids and everyone was happy with their food choices. The lemon garlic fries were outrageous!!! Decent beer selection. Well priced and we took a piece of Ugly cake home we were so full. Wished we had bought more. It was absolutely delicious!!!!!!!! Would love to visit on a return trip!!!!!!!
(5)Kelli A.
Had the BLTA with green chiles and the green chile cheese fries. Very good food. The service was lacking as we didn't see the waitress after she brought the food until it was time to ask for the check. She seemed to be the exception as the other waitstaff were very visible. Great restaurant and excellent food.
(5)Bill C.
Went for dinner a few nights ago. The service was fine and the place was nice. The food was just ok and I wouldn't describe the portions as big but they were adequate. Three of us had salads and one a veggie burger. Three ice teas and one beer later our bill was $80.00. I thought that was a bit high even for a ski town. Nothing memorable and we won't be back.
(3)Brittany S.
I'm a fiend for the garden of Eden salad and for the veggie burger! A wicked place for lunch or dinner in Steamboat with a diverse menu that caters to all preferences, health conscious or looking for comfort. We're regulars when I'm in town with my family :-) Oh, try the buns.
