Pet Friendly and the train left....so there was no one here. We ate at on the patio ...the establishment is a little run down...clean bathrooms, but the service and our waitress was absolutely fabulous. The food was okay.....we order the 1/2 sandwich and soup of the day. We also ordered BLT and a chicken salad sandwich...it was okay nothing special but wasn't bad either. The sandwiches were not gourmet it was basic but good. The soup of the day which was chicken and rice and it was decent. Would I eat here again? No, BUT I will come here for drink and an appetizer and it's one of the few pet friendly establishments and it's family owned.

It was okay. I ordered fajitas (the menu said they served avocados with it but there were not any) and they tasted okay but they were not great. It was also pricey.

Slow service could have been fixed with 1 more waitress outside. We enjoyed the patio and had great live entertainment to help pass the time. I really enjoyed my pesto chicken sandwich. it came with the best slaw I've ever tried. didn't care for the fries, but I'm not a big fan of French fries anyway. My daughter loved her chicken salad sandwich and agreed on the slaw... yum. Hubby had a hot beef sandwich and said if tasted like typical hot beef. My other daughter had a cheeseburger. It looked dried out but she said it tasted really good and didn't taste dried out. Prices ran about $9-10 per plate plus beverage.

Cool old building, typical of Silverton. That's the only reason - and because this place has survived for a while (no idea why) in a town that's tough to survive in that I gave it two stars instead of just one. We ate on the patio which was loud and could have been fun but the singer was terrible and kept starting songs then telling us why he couldn't play that and go on rambling. Our waitress was sweet but confused and not great at English so she kept getting the order confused and still ended up charging us wrong. And we had to chase her down to get refills on drinks; which seemed to surprise her. Food was average or below ... salad bar was nothing special but not bad. Everything on the buffet was overcooked and not good ... instant mashed potatoes, tasteless meatballs in salt-lick gravy, BBQ chicken that had been sitting so long the bones were half dissolved and fried chicken that had been over-fried to almost burnt in the first place then sat in the heating tray for way too many hours. The rest of the ordered food was the same quality. We won't go back.

It's a cool looking restaurant, but that's about all. The food is over priced and tastes like most of it came from a bag. The roll was to hard to eat and the from-a-bag chicken strips were over heated. Not Good.

I hate to be negative, but you should avoid eating here if you can. In our group we had the buffet, Elk Burger, regular burger, and the Pasta Alfredo. No one liked their food. The service is really slow. Our poor waitress didn't speak English & we don't speak Spanish. I feel bad for the businesses because I know they struggle, but this place was not even mediocre. Try someplace else if you can.

I was unimpressed with the food at all the restaurants I experienced in Silverton over a two day stay of breakfasts, lunches and dinners. Service was ok here but the lunch buffet that I did, at least there was lots of it is the best compliment. But the food is bland, overcooked and uninspired. Salad bar, nada special. Food bar, I went with the fried chicken, Swedish meatballs, mac n cheese, hot wings... yes, my plate was piled high... Nothing was worth a second pass.

Ended up leaving after looking at the menu. Lots of good ol American brown foods... The salad bar was sad and so was the actual menu. If you want something even slightly healthy don't eat here. If you want a heart attack enjoy!

Avoid this place like you're avoiding an Ebola patient! The establishment is A LOT run down. Our waitress was really nice and kept our glasses full. We pretty much went straight here after disembarking the train. My mother and I ordered the bison burger. YUCK! If I wanted a frozen patty that tasted like bland beef I would go to McDonald's in Durango. Luckily, Silverton, CO is pretty much one of those towns that after you have been once there really is no reason to go back. As such, I do not think I will ever have to worry about eating here. But to save you, my advise is to bring a picnic lunch.

Keep in mind that a lot of these mountain towns pretty much shut down during the Winter, and they don't get as much business during the Winter from skiers as they do from tourists in the Summer. This is especially true of Silverton which has a ski resort nearby, but relies more heavily on the tourist traffic coming up from Durango on the narrow gauge train. When we visited, we, too, came up on the train from Durango for the day. The town was just waking up after a Winter's sleep, (one restaurant was actually taking the plywood off the windows and door), and they weren't quite adjusted to the increased pace yet. That fact did affect our business. I have never been to a restaurant where our food arrived before our drinks, but it happened here. There was a large party next to us comprised of at least three couples, but they all forgot to mention that they'd need separate checks. They were foreigners, and probably didn't read or speak the language well. Anyway, it caused great distress to our waitress who then was so busy separating the checks, she forgot to bring our beverages. As a result, my wife's "hot" tea was more tepid than hot. The waitress made up for it by removing the charge from our bill. We were attracted to this place because of the large variety of food offered. We could tell because it is written all over the window. We thought Mexican or Italian sounded good, but we didn't end up with either. Having so many selections means they only have a few choices of each. The "Mexican" they offered comprised of only three choices, and the only one I would consider traditional Mexican was the green chile. They also had a Taco Salad, and Southwestern Salad, the second of which was vegetarian. As for the Italian, there were several, good choices, but neither my wife, nor I wanted to pay $15 for a pasta we weren't sure was "yummy." No offense, but the decor of the restaurant just didn't inspire the trust needed for that leap of faith. So, we went with the old reliable - The Vegetarian Sandwich. But, as it turns out, even that got us in trouble. For one thing, the sandwich, although on the cold sandwich menu, is offered as being served on a grilled "hoagie" which I interpreted to mean a hoagie roll. Instead, it was served on whole wheat bread that was neither toasted, nor grilled. Additionally, it was very "weakly" put together, and one, important ingredient was left off. Sometimes restaurants have difficulty distinguishing between what constitutes a sandwich, and was is a garnish. In this case, they gave us a "garnish" sandwich with barely any filling - like they took out the filling, and left the garnish. The sandwich was also supposed to have guacamole in it, but it didn't. The waitress corrected that, and that guacamole literally "made" the sandwich. With the; guacamole, I did not mind paying $9.00 for my garnish sandwich that came with fries; the same shoestring french fries I do not like, but these were very well done. Looking over some of the 2014 reviews, I can say that the restaurant is apparently reading the reviews, and trying to improve. Jess C. wrote about a lack of healthy choices, but we found many. Also, the salad bar was fresh at least when we were there, but it was just too pricey for those of us who weren't looking for a big meal. Maybe they could sell more salad bar if they offered a "one trip" option for half price? I would probably have chosen that. In conclusion, the place had only minor problems, and at least are trying to correct them; to provide a good product, and a good value for customers. I might go back again, but I'm not sure I ever will. There's just nothing there to attract me except for it being at the end of the line for the train. Overall - good service, decent food, and a sincere desire to accommodate the customer makes this a good choice for dining in Silverton.

Slow, slow, slow service. Fantastic chips and salsa. The WORST cheese enchiladas I have ever had in my life. Seriously, find somewhere else to eat.

Pasta with pesto: yuckers. Overlooked pasta and I wondered where were the pine nuts and garlic? Ok service. Hubby and others had burgers they said were good. Avoid this pasta... and maybe this restaurant.

On a layover from the D&S Narrow Gauge Railroad when I decided to have lunch here. Had the hot roast beef sandwich and peach cobbler. The food was very good, would recommend. The service could be warmer than the weather, BTW its starting to snow.

What a mistake to come in here. I wouldn't exactly consider myself a foodie but we don't even feed prisoners this god awful food. The service was terrible and the staff were overwhelmed by even a few people in the place. TLDR: Overpriced and slow.

I very rarely write a one star review but this place made it. I will give them a little for effort and the biggest issue was a communication challenge. The waitress, as nice as can be, did not speak very good English. If you can point to your order and have no questions or substations then you will get your order correct. If you have any questions, the answer will be yes with a polite smile. I actually feel bad for her. The food was just mediocre. The hamburgers that they added cheese to, came with no cheese. One of the people with us had the buffet and it looked pretty good. That might be the best way to go if you decide to come eat here. Highly disappointed and still waiting for our check...

I don't know how the reviews here aren't better. We went everywhere I. Town on a dead Wednesday afternoon looking for a place to have a beer and cigar on a patio. All the taverns were completely dead but did not allow except this one. Lucy welcomed us with open arms. Amazing service and large pours. Sunny patio all to ourselves and they even turned on the music for us. Will return.

On the positive side there are several options below $10 and the kids menu offers decent sized portions for those age 10 and under. I got the salad bar, and it had the basic salad ingredients plus potato salad, 3-bean salad and some different fruit options. The fries that my wife got were soggy and over salted. Her sandwich was rather undersized. The wait staff are slow and miss a lot of the basics (silverware for all at the table, water (ordered) for all members of the party, clean plates for second trip to the salad bar etc. All in all not the level of quality I would expect for a tourism-oriented town.

WOW! SOGGY wet bread for the meatball subs. When the waitress came by our table & looked at the pile of wet bread on my plate she commented about bread not being in my diet... my husband said no it's wet & soggy ~ she said "I'm sorry turned & hurried away" (no tip for that one missy!). The cole slaw had some mystery ingredient in it that really didn't compliment the salad ~ the fries & soda were good but the meal was WAY OVERPRICED!!! $30 for this disaster!!!! REALLY??!!??

So the little town of Silverton is definitely a tourist trap but I would sure hope they can do better than Natalia's. We had a large party of 13 people and they were quickly able to seat us, which was nice. The server was incredibly nice but spoke very little English. She seemed to be able to understand the menu items but as soon as you asked anything about an item on the menu she was flustered and had to get someone else to help us. I had the French Onion which was blah. It was on a boring hoagie bun with lunch meat piled on top and nothing else, no mayo, no flavor, nothing. The French Onion dip had no flavor; it was basically a beef broth. My boyfriend had the Buffet which looked terrible!

Don't usually post bad reviews. Chili was good. Jalapeños were better. Fish and chips : good chips fish not cooked. Sent it back. Still wouldn't post s bad review except urinals wouldn't flush.

We were in town for the day and wanted to eat at a different restaurant but found it was closed. Ate at Natalia's without looking at the reviews until after we'd ordered. After dealing with the waitress who was nice but barely spoke English and got easily confused, I ordered the elk burger since you can't get that just anywhere. The menu said all burgers would be cooked medium, but it was dry and over cooked. The other people with me got the buffalo burger (dry, overcooked, flavorless) and the chicken fried steak (frozen and heated up). The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because my mother in law said her taco salad was really good. I won't be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
