Like most of the other comments, this is a little diner off of one of my favorite motorcycle roads. I had nothing to do so I stopped in for a burger and a piece of pie. Burger was not anything special, but the fries were real- and delicious. I debated on apple pie or banana cream, and decided on apple. It was okay- crust was not flakey and the pie didn't have much flavor. The waitresses are friendly and the environment was relaxing with many locals enjoying coffee and joking around. So, if you are in the area it might be worth the stop, but I wouldn't go out of the way to come here.

This is a cool little hidden spot. We like to hit it up for a very casual but tasty brunch. So far, I have enjoyed everything on the menu. Save room for pie.

Below average breakfast. My eggs were over cooked (scrambled) and the biscuits and gravy were just average. The service was okay, but not great. I wouldn't return.

Good food, friendly staff. O'Brien's offers a good, basic breakfast and hearty lunch and dinner items. Their baked goods are very tasty too. This is the kind of place where you enjoy your meal and the experience. For me, this is a good substitute for the remodeled, not-the-same, B&B Cafe in downtown Castle Rock. Lots of locals eat here but you'll still feel welcome.

A quaint country roadside diner is right up my alley! And I've been wanting to stop here for a longtime. The woman I supposed was the own, party blond, was super friendly and quick with a joke. And the interior is a dyslexic version of a diner, a mix of 50's chairs and 70's eh. But the charm really stops there. A burger In a place like this should be great. Mine was a frozen preform with no flavor. I asked for no tomatoes, but got them anyway. And they didn't have onions. Come on! The fries were good, home made, but ovecooked so that some were Inedible. This place could be great, but the food is not worthy of the country legend this place could be.

Solid, tasty diner -- filled with locals and tasty unique options. Meatloaf for breakfast? You bet!

Great breakfast. Looking forward to coming back to try the pie! Driven by this place for too many years. Now I'll go out of my way to come here.

Yummy! Save room for dessert or take some home. Just lovely.

This place is wonderful. My family came in from Sedalia KY to visit and I thought it would be neat to go to a restaurant in Sedalia, CO. This place reminds me of home with great home cooking. We had breakfast and it was delicious. The folks there were great especially our waitress, Stephanie. Plus, since it was our first time there they gave a couple of complimentary cinnamon rolls. Melt in your mouth. Go here, you will not be disappointed.

Best breakfast diner on my cross country road trip. This place is awesome!

Quaint, quick, little diner with friendly service. One of our favorite Sunday brunch spots. There's rarely a wait and the food is exactly what you'd expect from a small-town eatery. They have a fairly large menu for a restaurant of their size and the kids like it, too!

O'Brien's is truly a diamond in the rough. The café is adjacent to a bizarrely-named pet grooming business--Bowser Bubbles--in a drab little building along Highway 85. Don't let the outside fool you--this place is amazing! After spending the morning hiking Devil's Head, we stopped here for lunch--and, oh boy, I'd rank this as one of my best Yelp finds ever. The interior is uniquely decorated with shelves full of random trinkets--think Cracker Barrel except way stranger (and thus awesome). Many of the decorations were related to princesses--hey, things don't have to make sense to be cool. One more thing that definitely didn't make sense--the old school indoor thermometer (circa 1990) strategically positioned between the two dining room areas. Props to O'Brien's for being the only restaurant I've ever seen with an indoor thermometer. In the corner of the restaurant near the restrooms, there is a shelf of books with a hand-written sign above it promoting the "BOOK EXCHANGE." Yes, you can borrow books to read while you're enjoying your brunch. Brilliant. Simply brilliant. The menu was awesome--tons of terrific breakfast/brunch options. Lots of the foods are topped with homemade green chili. O'Brien's also has a menu entitled the "MAN-U" in honor of its manliness. Yes, I ordered from the MAN-U. I ordered the #2--the Mighty Meat Skillet with sourdough toast. Our waitress assured me that this was one of O'Brien's most popular meals. The skillet was a perfect blend of meats, spices, potatoes, and eggs... smothered in green chili--ahh, my mouth was in heaven. O'Brien's has several excellent dessert options. Although I didn't order dessert (way too full from the skillet), I did try a friend's rhubarb pie--fresh and absolutely delish. Random place + princess decorations + book exchange + indoor thermometer + great menu + delicious green chili + friendly servers + homemade pies = one of the best little cafes I've ever experienced.

Not a terrible place and it is local but the coffee was weak and the foot while not terrible was not spectacular. Good, attentive service but only so-so food.

A great place to have breakfast, homemade pie, read the paper. Young or old, this place is a comfy little roadside diner near our home and we visit often. Kid friendly, great service, great food.

We ordered lunch. It was delivered in a timely fashion(by the owner, no less). The Pastrami Ruben was outstanding and my coworker said the chicken wrap 'kicked ass!" And at reasonable non tourist pricing. We just added O'Brien's to our regular lunch rotation. An so should you. Kevin @ The Cheap Geek

I can't believe I never knew about this hidden gem! Great breakfast spot, they have traditional breakfast fare along with skillets and some mexican specialties. We were happy to see they had grits, creamy and delish. Very friendly service too. Haven't tried their lunch fare yet, but it all looked great at the neighboring tables. I would have given them a "5" but they dropped the ball on their homemade pie. We had two pieces - apple and custard. The apple did have homemade crust but used canned apples (a deal-breaker for me) The custard pie, although a homemade filling, was a little bland and used a premade crust. So we were disappointed with the promise of homemade pie when it really wasn't. Another nice touch would be to not use pre-packaged jelly - would have loved a little jar on the table instead. Aside from this, we will definitely come back - great casual spot.

My friend and I both got the breakfast burrito w/ sausage - it was absolutely delicious. The green chili really is as good as everyone says. The service was phenomenal - we had Brittany as our waitress, she was great, as was the hostess. When our car wouldn't start after breakfast, Brittany kindly tried to jump our car w/ hers, then when that didn't work, she grabbed a mechanic that happened to be eating there to help us. The wonder of a small town diner!! The people are great, the breakfast was great - I can't recommend it enough!!

After reading reviews we stopped for lunch. My seat and table were wet from cleaning. That icky dirty towel smell. It's a nice family atmosphere and the staff were friendly. I wasn't impressed with the burger I ordered. The fries were soggy but were at least fresh. My daughter got breakfast and I think that's where this place shines. I will try again for breakfast with green chili but will not go back for lunch.

I liked this place, it was small and cosy. It had an interesting atmosphere to it. I really had fun. It wasn't formal at all. It really is a great place to hang out at as well. Food was yummy and the service was good. One person helped the waitress and then everything got confused with the bill, but that was the only hiccup. I would go back.

This is a great place to meet for breakfast. It doesn't seem to get too crowded, has a great variety of food and a very helpful waitstaff. Plus, they have silly signs on the wall and decent coffee. Loved the Greek salad once I asked for spinach instead of iceberg lettuce and the pies are really, really delish.

O'Brien's is one of the best-kept secrets for those looking for a great home-cooked breakfast or lunch at very reasonable prices. It's not often I write about a restaurant, but this one well deserves it. Their generous breakfasts are outstanding, offering standard-fare items like eggs, bacon, and sausage to combos of chicken-fried steak, biscuits and gravy, breakfast burritos, corned beef hash, and even meatloaf. "Home cooking" is exactly what you get with a staff that is super-friendly and makes everyone feel like part of the family. Soups from scratch are available daily along with other items based on their family recipes. In addition to menu items, they have home-made pies available. O'Briens is a true "local diner". On any day of the week, you can expect to dine with locals and ranchers from the surrounding communities. Blue jeans is the attire. We started eating here last fall and now go there several times a month as part of our family's regular schedule. Their portions are generous and we've never had a bad meal there yet. While it is a bit of a drive from the metro (we usually drive south on I-25 to the Happy Canyon exit, go west to Santa Fe, and then north to Sedalia), it is worth the drive to have a real old-fashioned breakfast with some of the nicest people you'll ever meet - anywhere.

I pass this place every morning on my way to work and it never fails, there are at least 8 trucks parked outside. I keep telling myself to get up early enough to stop by some morning and today I did. While I would give the food 3 stars, the hospitality is 5. I had the breakfast burrito which was good but the chili is a little bland for my taste. My brother had the biscuts & gravey which were very good. What makes the place so special is Christy and Donna who are both amazing in the way they make you feel at home for a good morning breakfast. I know I'll be getting up early more often so I can stop and visit the Princess.

It's food... Breakfast was a disappointment. Bad coffe, no flavor to the green chili or the gravy. Eggs were cooked as ordered but the breakfast burrito was missing the sausage but not the hair. Yelpers say to get the cinnamon roll, they were out. We figured the pie would make up for it, Sarah Lee would have been better. Our waitress with the booger hanging out of her nose disappeared and the replacement was too busy to greet a customer who just decided to leave. He was the smart one.

A little disappointing... slow service, green chili was bland. Needed flavor. My rye toast was good, as were the hash browns, but that is where it ended. Pies looked good, but didn't have a chance to try them. Not sure I ever will...
