My first time in this bakery I knew I wouldn't want to leave. With so many treats enticing you when you first walk in, it can be difficult to choose which ones you'll be taking with you. Everything I've eaten there has been spectacular, from the fresh spring salad with candied nuts that they make on-site, to the perfect, melt-in-your-mouth cookies in a wide variety of flavors. They are litterally heaven in one bite, composed of an outer, crispy shell over a creamy, chewy center. This bakery is one of Pueblo's true treasures. Not only do I shop there because of the quality, but also the affordability of their menu. Everything is local, from the eggs, to the produce, and very reasonably priced. If you're a fan of baked goods, try this place out on your next visit to Union Avenue, you won't be dissapointed.

Amazing bakery! I took a bunch of the cookies, brownies, muffins, cakes to a family reunion and everyone was in awe. Where did you get these, they asked?! Such delicious, fine pastries. You can't go wrong. Great service too. They packed them just how I needed them.

I'm a big baked goods person, extremely picky, & I love this place. I don't live in Pueblo, but make it a point to swing by every time I'm passing thru. I'm always impressed with the beautiful, tasty options; I've yet to have a "muffin of the day" or "bread pudding of the day" (my fave) that didn't make me swoon. Really friendly folks, too. If only they could re-locate or expand to Denver....

This has to be the best bakery in Pueblo. I've gone in on numerous occasions for baked goods - a couple of cookies here and there for my girlies. I could usually get them to share a bite with me before they gobbled up every morsel of cookie goodness, and yummy those single bites always were. However, tonight was the first time I tried one of their cakes - a piece all to myself - and it was heavenly. My sister ordered the cake ahead of time as it was for my mom's birthday - mom's favorite, chocolate with raspberry filling between the layers and chocolate frosting. The cake was a deep dark chocolate, very moist, and very dense. The filling and frosting were a perfect consistency and neither was overly-sweet. The cake was topped off with a layer of chocolate ganache and shaved chocolate lightly covered the top. Not only was it delicious, but it was beautifully presented too.

The pastries are delicious. We tried the orange beast, strawberry croissant, and chocolate scone and all had the right flavor and texture. We also enjoyed a chicken panini sandwich. Again, the food was spot on. I highly recommend this bakery and rank it among the best I've tried in LA, SF, and Dallas/Ft. Worth.

High quality food and service. The friendly staff always seem really happy to see you and make you feel part of a wonderful community. My favorite things are the daily scones (very flaky, moist and good...the chocolate orange is the best) and the little chocolate cake thing. Not sure what it is called but it is amazing. Like cake, pudding, and mouse all in one. Oh, and the homemade ice cream...try that too. Most people go here for the baked goods..obviously, but I think they also may have the healthiest lunch available in Pueblo. There are two options I rely on weekly. The Steel City Salad (greens, veggies, and you can add egg, meat, avocado, etc) and their protein plate. Healthy options are hard to find in this town and I so appreciate the local bakery having some good choices. Great find. Go to Hopscotch!

I can't get enough of the Hopscotch!! They are by far and away my favorite bakery of all time. The owner is very friendly and works hard to churn out the best tasting goodies around. Muffins, cake, cookies and lots more. This is probably my favorite bakery on planet earth, so please stop in, say HI! to Mary, and enjoy...

This bakery is as good as it gets. Their peach biscuits are to die for. Their scones will make you never want to buy one from Star Bucks ever again.

A ONE OF A KIND FIND!! We were driving through Pueblo and stumbled onto this little jewel. It's an old school bakery and coffee shop. Homemade cookies, bake goods, garnola and many other treats. The owner was so friendly, We were blown away by how fresh everything was and how yummy it all tasted. I am from a suburn of Los Angeles and have been to bakeries in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, Silver Lake and the San Fernando Valley. Non of these place can even compare to the Hopscotch Bakery. The owner obviously loves her job and it shows! We'll definitely stop there again the next time we are in Colorado.

First time in Pueblo. WOW! What a find. I'm from Jersey where bakeries are like pizzerias . One on every corner and one better then the other. I saw the reviews and was thinking, " could this place be that good in Pueblo"? I was not dissapointed. The scones were the best I've had and the coffee much better then most. Did I mention the owner? What a nice lady, she told me the story of this place, you can tell she puts her heart into her baking. If you find yourself in Pueblo this place is a must. Enjoy.

Hopscotch delivered a pastry box to my Dad's nurses and I can't thank them enough for that good karma, because it made all the difference in the world. All I did was call (from Boston!!), tell them how much I wanted to spend and where to go and they took it from there. Class Act. Thanks so much, Mary.

Hard to beat Hopscotch. Everything lovingly made with the best ingredients. It's easy to tell that the people who work there are proud of it. No wonder it's Best of Pueblo.

I am addicted to Mary's cookies! Her sugar cookies are buttery and light, perfect example of a good sugar cookie. Make your way down during the Chili festival and have some of her Chili Sugar cookies. The spice is so subtle and blends well with the butter and sugar, well worth the trip. I also had her Lavender ice cream in a waffle cone which was awesome. You can taste the cream and eggs and the lavender is unexpected, but a perfect compliment. My husband said that the midnight chocolate cake was so good he could eat one every day. I can't wait to try their sandwiches! P.S. Did I mention that the owners are super nice?!

First of all, ignore the negative comments. I think it's easy to tell the majority of those people have never even been to the bakery. I have been here many many times and have always had excellent customer service and very good food! Breakfast foods such as: muffins (always a different kind), quiche, scones, and, especially, orange beasts (chewy rolls) are the best way to start off a day. They also have amazing cookies, cupcakes, soup, sandwiches, bread, etc. If there is something you want and don't see it, just ask. The owner, Mary, personally prepared my wedding cake. It was absolutely amazing. My family, friends, and in-laws (all from out of town) were amazed. It was decorated so nicely I hated to cut into it! Mary also made a grooms cake in the shape of a bowling ball! (Pictures below). All products are made fresh, from scratch, with real ingredients and no preservatives. If you are looking for supermarket flavor, go to the supermarket. If you are looking high quality food/ingredients and personalized service come here.

This place is "Best of Pueblo" for a reason! They're across the street from my office, so I'm in here a few times a week. The breakfast pastries alone would get five stars, but their paninis for lunch should earn them ten. The "Orange Beast" in the morning will change your life! I just tried one of the new bagel sandwiches yesterday, and it was fantastic. The ice cream is to die for. Friendly folks behind the counter, excellent treats, and worth every penny!

The amazing smell stopped me dead in my tracks durning my morning run and I'm glad it did. The raspberry croissant is one of the best I've ever had in this country. Don't pass it up. The blueberry coffee cake was also fantastic.

I wanted to love this place, I really did. But I actually bought 4 cookies (b/c they were buy 3, get 1 free). I had a long drive back to Denver, and tried them all in the car. I literally only finished one of them b/c the other 3 were just not good at all. I got toffee oatmeal (I did NOT taste toffee at all, and it was bland), peanut butter chocolate chunk (VERY dry, bland), and a death by chocolate, which was the only one I finished. I jsut wasn't impressed.
