What a quaint, comfortable, home cooking establishment. I would Of never stopped here if it wasn't for husbands family that lives in the area. They are known for their ice cream and fried chicken. I ordered the buffalo sirloin and it came with a salad buffet, baked potato and soup. Plenty of food! The steak wasn't best but when you are only paying 13 dollars you can't complain. If you happen to be driving through the little town of platteville it is worth the stop.

Had a very bad experience here. We had a problem with our check and couldn't even read it. The menu is atrocious. They need to condense it and make it more understandable with prices. We felt robbed. When we asked about our check the waitress got on the defense and treated us horrible. Then when we said we were never coming back she said, ok whatever. The service there is terrible people are rude and the prices don't match the quality of food. Never will go here again!

Authentic home-style cooking! When my sister-in-law asked if we wanted to go to the Double Tree Restaurant in Platteville, Colorado I thought that was a strange place for a Doubletree hotel and why would we want to eat there when we could go to so many unique places in Brighton. Never dreamed the restaurant was called the "Double Tree" and it would be a fantastic family place to eat! I think the name is a cowboy thing.. the "Two Trees" to park and eat... the value for the price can't be beat! Check out their new website for menu and specials at the double tree restaurant dot com. A fun step back in time for a great meal at a reasonable price. Have been there twice before writing the review so have first hand stories of the great food. See all the photos and you can tell how huge the portions are and how they are presented for the price. Prime Rib was excellent with medium rare done just right for $16.99 with a baked potato and all the fixins nice plus a trip to the soup and salad bar. 8 oz Liver and onions was cooked perfect served with potato and salad bar for $12.99. Homemade chicken fried steak that filled a plate with mashed potatoes and cream gravy only $11.99. After all that food we were too full to try the homemade ice cream or pies but that will be on the agenda for the next time! A PLUS if you are a lady and a drinker..... Wednesdays are Ladies Nights! Ladies drink free well, wine, and domestic beer all night in the bar! Maybe you can connect with some Cool Colorado Cowboys! When looking for real estate in the Brighton, Ft. Lupton, Platteville area be sure to make this a lunch or dinner stop!

It's sub-par truck stop food. Years ago it was edible, tonight we walked away from our prime rib. There is no world in which that was "Prime" rib. More like a tough old downer-cow from the sale yard. I ordered mine medium. It came rare/raw and it was so tough I could hardly cut through it. I asked for it to be grilled for a few minutes, it came back and it had been microwaved beyond chew-ability. Our waitress was awesome.

I ate here for the first time today. It looks down right run down on the outside but the inside was welcoming and cozy if a little dark but that actually works for this place. I ordered the cowboy burger. It's a half pound burger wrapped in bacon topped with sauteed jalapeño and onion, lettuce, pickle and tomatoes. It also had cheese... Tasted like provolone. It also came with fries on the side. Everything tasted great. All of that and a drink set be back $15 which is a little pricey for a burger but it was a really good burger. I'd love to come back for breakfast or to try a steak.

Just went in for their prime rib buffet. There was raw chipotle chicken, soggy fried chicken, the prime rib was so tough even the guy cutting it was having a hard time cutting it to even serve it. The insert in the menu said the buffet was $15.99 we were charged $17.99. When I asked the waitress about the price she said oops someone didn't change the insert that's the lunch price. Definitely will not be going back!

Finally had dinner at this place after eating breakfast here a few times....ME LIKEY! There's nothing like this place in Brighton, a true classic country steakhouse. The only place that was ever close was The Depot, and they sucked. (Now closed.) I had the Prime Rib and shrimp, wifey had the bacon-wrapped filet an' shrimp, both excellent. Service was low-key, competent and friendly, prices were reasonable, portions were sizable, the meat was cooked to perfection. They only serve the Prime Rib on the weekends, and apparently you better get there early, I got the last order and it wasn't even six yet. Nice big slice of prime, took about half home and made a killer breakfast sammich out of it. This will now be my go-to place for a civilized plate of surf an' turf. A bit of a drive for us, about 12 miles, but totally worth it.

The food is ok. The atmosphere about the same. People come here from all around the area for the fried chicken. I've had it and thought it was ok, but I live in town and still have only been here 2 or 3 times. Always packed in the mornings, so breakfast might be good. Update: We tried breakfast......it is good!

There was a party of four. All of our meals were horrible. One of us had the T-bone it was so tuff and chewy. Other one had the cowboy steak which had no flavor and must have put on it on too big plate cause it looked like it had shrank, the other two of us had the prime rib but I guess they forgot to spice it had no flavor at all. Save your money for better meal somewhere else

If it ain't broke don't fix it. That pretty much sums up this place. The interior, exterior and menu of the diner doesn't appear to have been changed or altered since its first day of business. That's not necessarily a bad thing. If you like home cooking style establishments where most of the customers are regulars then you'll feel right at home here. For example one of the specials was liver and onions which is rare to see on contemporary menus. I had the open faced prime rib sandwich which was good, but not great. Service was friendly and quick.

Loved it!!! A friend recommended this place to us. It looks like a little dive outside, very country decor inside! Great little salad bar, lots of options and someone was filling, stirring and checking every 5 minutes! BBQ ribs and chicken were moist and well flavored with good meat portions! Steak cooked perfectly to order and there was no complaints by the little one! Great family dinner and great food and portions for decent price! Highly recommended, we will be back!
