Diabetics at Village Inn

Village Inn is a tough place for diabetics, and you must be extra cautious while ordering food at the Village Inn, especially if you're a diabetic. The food items low in sodium are high in sugar or cholesterol at Village Inn which makes it difficult for diabetics to choose the right food at the diner.

Foods to Avoid at Village Inn for Diabetics

Village Inn offers very few items edible for diabetics without any threat. You can avoid sandwiches and burgers at Village Inn and try the light breakfast items on the menu. You must also skip the shakes as well as other juices from the beverage menu. Almost all the dinner items on the menu are high in sodium except Grilled Tilapia and 6 oz. Top Sirloin & Toast. Avoid Soup bowls and opt for cups instead at Village Inn.

My favorite. We always come here for Free Pie Wednesday. The VIB is like 7$ a person, and you get to choose between egg types, meat types, hashbrowns, pancakes, etc. Each add on is only 1.00. Pretty filling, great food. Service is normally always fast. The pie is amazing, and my mom is constantly sending me to vi to pick up a whole pie for desert. I haven't had a pie there I didn't like. They are open late which is nice, because pie is a great late night snack!!! However, one time our service was slow. Our waiter was awful. The manager was very kind and took care of our drinks and one of our meals. We didn't tip. And we normally always tip. We eat at Village Inn at least once a week. We normally go every week for free pie. Cheap, delicious, and good service. A great place to go for breakfast any time of the day.

Food is good but service is slow. Had to wait 20 mins to get drinks and 15 minutes after our order was taken the server still had not entered it into the computer.

Delicious breakfast, delicious pies, and quick service. It's a little pricey but still very good.

Nobody in the restaurant. Walked in and two servers saw me and decided that they needed to finish their conversation first. Unhappy and slow people work here. Good is just okay, I usually love vi

I do enjoy coming here on occasion. Never have been let down. Service it good and so is the food. I forget which day it is, but one of the days of the week is free pie day. Yum.

Not impressed. It had been a few years that I had visited a Village Inn because of all of them closing in Colorado Springs. I was very dissatisfied with the food. My girlfriend got eggs, bacon and a bagel and I got an eggs benedict. All of it was bad. The hollandaise was salty and gross, the fries were cold, the bacon was stiff and overcooked, the bagel was cold and the cheese was forgotten on my girlfriend's eggs. Bad news altogether. I will never go back.

Always slow service even when there are not many guests. Food is not worth the price.

You know, not exceptional but certianly not bad at all. We had a pretty decent breakfast and the bonus is that on Wednesdays between 10am and 10pm you get a free piece of pie with every order! My son loved that :) I would say that it was a good meal overall and we will be back. It was also very clean and had a fun, old school diner feel. Also, the hostess was very fast and efficent although we did have to wait a bit for our food. Like I said, A-OK.

The Village Inn is a solid and consistent place to enjoy breakfast and lunch. We have never been here for dinner. What I like most is the fast and friendly service. Food is good and served as a reasonable price. Gotta check the pie out too...yummy!

The service is always very slow at this location, but the people are friendly. The food is always decent, it's worth having a fun breakfast or a free pie on Wednesdays, I just wish they would show some urgency.

Food is decent but service is hit or miss. I have been multiple times where there is a lobby full of people waiting with more than five empty tables. Even with all the empty tables it still takes over 15 minutes to be seated. Some of the servers are great while others are extremely slow like the hostesses.

Facility was not very clean. The floor under our booth was littered with crayons, rubber bands, and food particles. Fixtures looked like they had not seen a wipe-down in a while. Food was very greasy. Looks as though it was sloppily thrown on the plates. Waited over 5 mins from when we were seated for coffee to arrive. Server was nice and cordial, but it was apparent he was not the most skilled. Was last here about 4 years ago. It has devolved tremendously. Seems like the type of restaurant where one would be scared to see the kitchen. We like Village Inn's, but will not visit this one again.

I hadn't been here in years. The last few times I was here, back in the day, the food was flat out bad, and so was the coffee. My recent visit was acceptable, if not amazing. The coffee was decent, and the food was reasonably well-prepared. The service was also pretty good. I am not a Village Inn "hater". The nice new one by Parker Road and E470, that closed all too soon, was quite good. The one up by Arapahoe and Parker Road has been solid over the years as well. Would I rather go here than Egg & I or IHOP in Parker? Definitely not. But, I will stop in again down the road.

Your standard Village Inn with a very helpful staff and usual busy weekend morning. Can't go wrong with some eggs and bacon!

I haven't been to this Village Inn in a long time. It appears that they have done a little bit of remolding and made it look a little more retro. I was pleasantly surprised by the food. They made a descent egg white omelet with vanilla yogurt w/ granola and multi-grain pancakes. It's a good everyday breakfast with some reasonable prices. As other reviewers have said the earlier on Sunday mornings the better. I remember when this was the only breakfast place in Parker - it was always packed.

My kids love "Free Pie Wednesday" and yesterday was the real pi day (3.14). The service is fast, the food is average, the coffee is average and the pies are average to slightly above. My family loves it, so we come here about once per month.

Food is so-so, most of the visits 1/2 of our food has come out cold or not cooked to our reguested desire and we are afraid to send it back because we saw wait staff drop a piece of toast on the ground one time pick it up blow on it than put it back on the plate. Will not be going back since seeing that.

It's a Village Inn.....they have food that won't make you barf. It's also pretty old and rundown. They closed the newest version up toward 470 and left this one open for some odd reason. I wouldn't have chosen that way. Oh and it's full of old people..... 'Nuff said. :-)

  • Cass D.

I can't believe they closed the new one and left this one open. I guess it's a result of taxing zones. In any case, okay american food, alright variety. Nothing special. This place is kinda run down compared to the area it's in. They could really use a re-model to bring me back in.

I made it in to this location in the early afternoon. The place was practically empty and the service was very good. The Sante Fe skillet was tasty and the pumpkin pancakes with maple nut-brown sugar sauce was exceptional.

Your standard gut bomb breakfasts. Usually go here after doing an early morning workout so that makes it taste better than it is. If you ate here everyday you wouldn't have many days left. Still it is what it is and I will be going back. Earlier the better on Sundays!

The restraurant is pretty nice. It is old but it's been open for like 20 years. They just put in new carpet along with new coffee pots which looked nicer and cleaner. They have new dishes and new items on the menu. I like that they have new pies and new features every couple months. Their pie rush wednesday means that I can have dessert for free every week (but there are only specific pies included) and they have a new VIB breakfast that is really cheap. You can pick 4 different things and make your own meal. I thought it was a good value for my money.

If you like Village Inn's you will like this one. Food is standard, pies standard. It is what it is! The waitress was very pleasant on Sunday the last time we went in. They have added a few new skillets to their menu... The new Heart Attack waiting to happy one... My husband ordered that of course! Double Bacon, Double Cheese but he was disappointed and said it was dry. I ordered the Mexican Chicken one... It was good and their pancakes have always been my favorite...

Always clean. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Even though it's a chain, you still feel like you're in a small town diner. Prices are fair for the portion size. They have delicious country gravy and the new choices on the VIB menu are great.

Made a huge mistake and went to the Friday night all you can eat fish fry. Terrible...everything is made to order but mine came out very old and tough...worst meal I've had since being in Colorado. I know i should rely on going to the Village Inn for fish but i wanted to try it...trust me...don't do it!
