For a small town in the middle of mountain agriculture, The Casa sure puts on a real show! From the pleasant greeting at the door, to the spacious, cozy back patio, they make you feel like you're patronizing a formal establishment. As examples, we were serenaded by light, peaceful classical piano music, and kids are offered a complementary cup of apple juice. After the personal greeting from the owner, my second impression was just how exceptionally clean and neat everything was, which scores huge points in my book. Even a sideways peek into the kitchen indicated near medical standard hygiene. The menu was your standard board of offerings, but the quality of the food, the size portions, and the display was unreal! I ordered a basic turkey sandwich with a side of fruit. My plate induced surprise by consisting of hand-sliced turkey breast on lightly toasted deli bread garnished with blood-red tomatoes, thin-sliced onions, and a tasty sauce. The side was a bowl of locally grown peaches, crisp watermelon, perfectly crunchy apples, and black grapes, all about as fresh as possibly imaginable. We were waited upon by two girls, one of which didn't seemed to know which tables were hers, so there was a bit of overlap. We were glad to have the extra attention, however. Both of them were very professional, attentive, and courteous. The Casa welcomes you with high recommendations from me.

As others have said, food was bland, but service was very good and atmosphere was nice. Two of us had breakfast and both of us left food on our plates. Best of all, before we ordered, the waitress asks" do you want separate checks?" Since there were only two of us,just to prove we're not fixated on this separate check business,we said "no.....we'll work it out"

They're closed. Sold to another restaurant, and they're closed also. You'll get a great meal at the Flying Fork or the Living Farm Cafe, and save room for dessert at Ollie's Ice Cream.

We stopped at the Casa on a recommendation, and I am very glad we did! My grandmother, who cannot eat gluten, was staying at the care and rehab facility in Paonia, and we wanted to bring her a tasty meal. The folks at Casa made sure that her meal was entirely gluten free, plus they packaged it all in to-go boxes along with everything we needed to make our meal pleasant. Despite it not being 'kitchen fresh' (it took us a while to get situated at the care facility, maybe 20 minutes or so from when it was served to us at the restaurant to when we could sit down and eat) the food was still fantastic. I had the rib-eye, cooked jut right. The fresh salad was a treat - no bagged greens here. Other meals my family had included a burger, teriyaki chicken, and salmon with wild rice. Nothing but good things to say, will definitely make a point to stop here again next time I am in town.

Miss this spot. Bad food, slow service. Nothing else was open in this little town in a fall color Sunday.

This is, HANDS DOWN, the best spot in Paonia. I spent a week in town for a training (yes, SEI)... and I couldn't get enough of the Casa. The woman who runs the place is amazing - she's a sweeheart and VERY helpful. Lunch menu is standard, but everything comes out way better than I imagine (that turkey club was ridiculous). Salads are real greens, just perfect.... Dinners are usually special for the day - so walk by and poke your head in, I'm sure you'll like what you see. There's also some dishes always available. Anyway, cheap and amazing food, I love it, and I miss it! It looks like a house - so don't walk past it. Oh yea, Beautiful back deck.

We spent a long weekend in Paonia, CO for the Top O' the Rockies BMW rally July 28 - July 31, 2011 and we ate 4 meals at The Casa in two days. Breakfast twice, lunch and dinner once each. We ate on the patio which is a perfect setting. The food is fresh, local when possible and prepared very well. Don't miss the bacon at breakfast, it's the best I've had anywhere. The owners, Janet and Eric along with Janet's daughter Nicky and the rest of the staff made the weekend near perfect for us. They'd only been open 45 days prior to that weekend and have done a great job with the place. We look forward to eating there again soon.

Had breakfast in this charming casual restaurant. Plusses: great waitress, great setting, quality food. Great crispy bacon and eggs. Minuses: high altitude pancakes were too baking soda Ish. Must stop here.

Wonderful food, only surpassed by the friendly service! Definitely worth the visit, especially the fried chicken.
