My review is solely based on not having any service. My husband and I were seated by the hostess on Friday, July 25th (6pm'ish). The restaurant was virtually empty. There were a handful of waiters milling around the bar and after 10 minutes of nobody approaching our table we got up and left the restaurant. I doubt anybody even knew we left. Never, ever going back.

Better than expected, but not that great. I give it 2 stars because the food was edible. Other than that I had their house ribs and fries. The ribs were dry to point that the BBQ sauce stuck to my teeth. The fries were cold. I ordered a side salad and it was frozen, just like the restaurant. I froze my butt off!!! Got in to the Ramada plaza motel late and decided to eat their. So location was the only plus, that's why I gave it 2 stars.

I live in the area, and I came in because I hadn't been in years. I always like to go to local restaurants and write reviews for others because I enjoy MOST experiences. When I went to Damon's I noticed the sign was not out side, and a new one was being put on. Come to find out this place isn't Damon's anymore. I had great service, the bar had a person in every stool, and although it is a sports bar, there were a good amount of families. The food was a really good price for the amount. BEST PRIME RIB I have had in quite some time. Get the potato skins for an app, they can feed an army and I dream about them now. The ingredients were fresh as if it was my mother cooking it. The name of the restaurant is now Colorado Bar & Grill. I figured I would write a review here since their yelp page isn't up quite yet, because I didn't want anyone to think this was still Damon's, I will be returning for sure.

We were at the hotel for a convention, and naturally assumed that the hotel restaurant would be open for lunch on a busy weekend. Nope! Fortunately there were notices posted all over the hotel about the restaurant's hours, since most Damon's ARE open for lunch, and the menu even has a lunch section on it. A pity, since most of the con attendees were dressed in costume and would have much preferred to eat at the hotel than leave it to find food. There is a hallway leading from outside into the public area of the hotel, and for some reason the kitchen is on one side, and the dining room and bar are on the other. We had to dodge waiters with full plates dashing across the hall multiple times, even when we weren't eating there! We had to wait quite a few minutes for someone to notice us and seat us. Our food arrived before our utensils, and it somehow took the waiter two more trips to bring me a sauce for the chicken fingers. They were good, and I was excited to be able to onion straws, which were also good and crispy. There were at least three waiters that we saw and only a handful of tables seated. If they could just improve their service it would be a much better restaurant.

Wow you have got to be kidding! How can this place still have its door open for business is beyond me. The food is atrocious and I kept imagining what Gordon Ramsay might find back there in that horrid kitchen. But the most disgusting thing was the live mouse running around the dining room while the staff tried to catch the damn thing. I'd rather die of starvation than step foot in this shit hole again.

Worst restaurant ever. I worked there for a short time. There are so many things wrong with the restaurant and hotel. Since I worked there they had mice everywhere not only kitchen and restaurant all over hotel. They have flying ants in kitchen. In house keeping they stack tray full of food and leave them for weeks grow mold and maggots were dont risk getting sick go eat elsewhere where food and service is great

We went to Damon's a few years ago because someone said their ribs were great. Hmmm... after we walked in I wondered if we were in the right place, the atmosphere was not inviting and it kind of seemed like we were not welcome. Honestly I don't remember the food or even what we had but my impression was that it was not good. I only write the review now because I saw a "deal" from Restaurants.com and thought I would check to see what people are currently saying about Damon's. From the reviews here I see things haven't changed. How do they stay in business?
(1)Daniel B.
Don't eat here. Trust me. This place is one health code violation away from being just a bar. Stay away.
(1)Lee P.
Well it looks as if they lost the Damon's franchise, since it is no long called Damon's. It is still broken down and dirty. Wait staff cuts up far too much with each other and the regulars. Seems the lunatics are running the asylum. They still have Damon-esque menu, and pricing. I went in not noticing that it was Damon's anymore, looked at the menu, and amount of flies loitering around the bar....I had a beer w/o ordering and left. Did I mention dirty?!

This place deserves 0 stars! Worst place to eat! TERRIBLE SERVICE! Manager came around to ask how things were and we told her the service was bad, and she didn't even apologize! Like that was part of what happens there everyday! Then, to top it off, we came home to find our credit card was charged twice, once for the wrong amount and then again for another wrong amount! We are filing fraud charges with our bank when they open tomorrow. DON'T EVER GO HERE, this place is the biggest joke in North Denver!

I see why it's a one star place. We were having a conference at the Ramada and had to eat here. Food was horrible and the waitress was horrible. There was dirty water flooding into the bar and our coffee mugs had white dried chunky things on it along with lipstick stain. ECCCKKK! RUN AWAY from this place.

Came here on some kind of coupon with my in-laws. None of us had ever been, and we definitely won't be coming back. There was a Bronco game on and there were only about 5 tables worth of people there. As other reviewers have mentioned, the lack of people didn't matter since it took over 15 minutes to get 6 waters. A guest of ours inquired about a specific scotch and then inquired again, and after the 5th time of his asking did the waitress finally go check. After asking no cheese on my salad, the waitress assured me that if she accidentally put it on there she would just make me a new one. Uh...ok? The salad I got was fine, my husband's ribs and shrimp were pretty decent, but the spinach artichoke dip was disgusting. The diet coke tasted like it had Windex in it. We were there for lunch for over two hours and not because we were too busy chatting - it was the painfully slow service. Once we finally got our ticket, the waitress read it aloud to us as if we wouldn't be able to decipher them on our own. As we left, my mother-in-law and I both exclaimed, "Well that was.....an experience."

This is the worst Damon's I have ever been to. The service was terrible and the place looked like it hadn't been cleaned or renovated in 20 years. For these points alone I should give it one star but the food stays true to Damon's, some of the best bar food out there.

We live nearby and wanted to check this place out since I have been to other locations and enjoyed the experience. Let me say that the only reason this place is open is because its in a hotel. Weary travelers have no choice but to dine here; local residents do! Food was ok but over priced. Service and cleanliness were horrendous. We could tell that our server was making an effort but it wasnt up to par. Will not return ever!

The projectors were incredibly dim, making game-watching virtually impossible. The only projector worth a damn was the one not broadcasting any TV. I feel like I should mention it for the benefit of people who care about such things, though I really came for the food. Oh, the food? It sucked. Yeah. Uninspired, traditional fare, like you might expect. My ribs were relatively decent but my wife's prime rib was disgusting. She ate one bite and left it alone. The waitress looked embarrassed when she asked us if we needed a box when we left and we said no. The pulled pork sliders were watery and gross as well. Most of the food tasted like it was a few days old and microwaved. Even my diet coke tasted weird, like the wrong ratio of syrup to soda water was used. The weirdest thing I got, which was so weird that it's worth mentioning, was the pecan-crusted sweet potatoes. It was like a square brownie-size lump of what was claimed to be sweet potatoes. However, there was no orange to be seen - this lump was dark, dark brown. There had to have been a pound of brown sugar in mine. I couldn't taste anything but sugar. I've never seen anything quite like it. Even the waitress warned me it was "like a dessert." No shit. Frankly, the place is too pricey for the quality of food. It's not expensive, but it's too expensive for what you get. The food ranges between awful and mediocre, and the environment is crap. The wife and I had driven by so many times, we decided to finally go in and check it out on a Friday evening at dinner time, and it was nearly empty. On a Friday night. Go anywhere else.

My first 1 star review...and couldn't be to a more deserving establishment, so allow me to be the next to take a deuce on this place. Beer was at least cold, but when it takes 15 minutes for a glass and the dumbass behind the bar has to ask 3 times what you're having...maybe she was just distracted by one of the two other people in the place (a guy and another employee, mind you) who was obviously pumpin out some potent pheromones or at least had something of earth shattering importance to talk about...if Captain Kirk locked his damn tractor beam on this bartender, she'd still be able to break free and land on the "Lazy Moon" orbiting "Planet Suck". As for the food...I've microwave two day old leftovers, got distracted, didn't eat it, left it out for a day, remicrowave it, ate it and was happier with that outcome than this crap. I think I'll just stick with that instead of elaborating. If you've never had the pleasure of writing a one star review, I highly recommend this place. Other than that, keep on truckin.

I don't understand the one star reviews. We eat here all the time with coupons and it has always been good. The salad is one of the best I have ever had and the steaks are excellent. My wife loves the chicken fingers because they are not greasy like most other restaurants. Service has always been fast and we have never had any problems. Good place to eat!

This place is a joke! This is the only place to eat or get a drink in the Ramada Plaza Convention Center, and the food is disgusting, (I learned that the hard way last year) and the service is bordering on nonexistent. When I got the attention of the bartender at the completely empty bar, she put her hand up and said, "I'll be back in a minute" and proceeded to disappear. I gave up after five minutes and went back to my booth at the Vintage Voltage expo. The exact same thing happened to my buddy an hour or so later. It was horrible last year and it was horrible this year. At least someone fixed the broken TVs, so I got to watch some March Madness waiting for the bartender to resurface. They should tear this dingy dump down and put in a real restaurant/bar with professional servers.

Hahaha! I had a huge grin on my face when I saw the star rating on this place. I would've lost faith in humanity if I saw anything but 1 stars across the board. This place sucks. It's located inside the Ramada hotel. We came to the hotel to attend the record expo. Afterwards, we were all feeling a little hungry and wanted to grab a drink. Why not take the convenient way and stop in at the restaurant inside? I second Molly S.'s comment. It is dead in here. There was one sad drunk person at the bar. Apparently everyone else from the expo knew better than to stop here, because otherwise it should've been packed. Why didn't we pick up on that hint? Damn. Luckily we only ordered a sampler platter and some beers. I would've been bummed if we had invested any more money into the food. The platter was basically frozen food heated up and slapped on a plate. Poor a bottle of ranch into a cup and Tuddah ~ sampler platter! The food and drinks were way overpriced. The waitress/bartender was awful. It seemed we had to order everything twice. She would glance in our direction and we'd have to pull her over to check if she remembered our order. Nope, she didn't. Not even the drinks. She was only interested in standing in one spot at the end of the bar - texting. Texting texting texting away, occasionally looking up to see what crap was on the tv. And now the cherry on top. I checked our bank statement online and she ran our debit card more money than what we signed for...... hated. everything. about. this. place.

I purchased a coupon on restaurant.com for this place and thought we would give it a try. I should have realized there was an issue when we pulled into the parking lot at dinner time and there were only 4-5 cars. Our waitress was nice but food is nasty. The happy hour drinks have a good price with good selection. We got the southwest egg-rolls for an app, there were 6 pieces thrown on a plate, nothing special for almost $9. My husband got a NY strip steak for $18.99, it was literally a 1/4 in thick and half fat with no flavor(there is NO way in hell the was a 12oz NY). I got the sirloin and ribs, the steak was so salty I couldn't eat it, the ribs were edible but tasted packaged. To sum it up the only thing we enjoyed were the cold beer and happy hour prices. We spent $54.00 and it was the biggest ripoff I have ever experienced. Don't waste your time or money, not sure where they get off charging so much for crap food but they should really rethink! I wish I would have read the reviews before I wasted my time and money. We will not be back!

Three of us went here for dinner and all three of us were very disappointed. We started by ordering the onion string appetizer. 20 minutes later it showed up cold. I guess the waitress was too busy hanging with her friends to bring it out while it was hot. The salads were OK, but that's kind of hard to mess up. One person in our party ordered a rare prime rib. It came out almost well done and when he sent it back, they were a bit argumentative about his definition of rare. I can attest that it was way overcooked. The other two of us ordered a half rack of ribs each. I didn't even eat my whole half rack because they were dry, overcooked, and generally tasted like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for way too long. The other guy choked his down but didn't really enjoy them either. The mashed potatoes were old tasting. Service was sub-par all around. The waitress didn't come around very much and my glass was empty several times. She didn't ask how our meals were -- I guess she knew better than to open that can of worms. There are many good restaurants in this area. This is not one of them. Eat elsewhere!

Uninspired BBQ, horrible projection TVs. Only saving grace was Ranger IPA on tap. In all, very disappointing and not worth revisiting.

We came here for some good steak and chicken to pacify a craving since Damon's is usually so good. It is a Friday night and the place is deader than a doornail. We decided to play some poker and the game systems only half worked. Service was fast enough but no one knew anything. What is the soup? Let me check. What is the vegetable? Let me check. Seriously? The food came out and the steak was over cooked, the chicken was oddly wet (not moist) and the vegetables looked and tasted like they died before they cooked them. Not to mention, they were out of the side I ordered and replaced it without asking me what I wanted instead. VERY ghetto. Surprised they're still in business honestly. I won't be visiting this Damon's again.
