I ordered a pizza at 7:15. It is now 8:55 and I don't have my food. I call two times to check on my food and am treated with complete disdain and disinterest. No offer to pay for my food. No apologies. The second time I called, I explained who I was and was put on hold until I hung up. I can only imagine how cold and hard my food will be IF it ever arrives. I will never order from this restaurant again. Update: It's 9:07 and the food is not here. I called a third time and spoke with the owner. He promptly said that he could not 'help incompetence' (really, business owner?) and when I told him that I would not be ordering from him again, he said 'Oh. Are you perfect?' I am appalled that this place is still in business. Not that I would know tonight because my food isn't here - but I have had the pizza before. I'd give it a C-. Avoid at all costs.

This place is just a really good, really simple pizza place that you seek out when you want a classic slice of greesey pizza. It's very casual, with just a few tables, and a few pitchers of water out so you can serve yourself. The pizza was really good - the right ratio of cheese, sauce and dough.

I live in Central NY and grew up in Brooklyn. I know pizza as much as any other New Yorker. Maybe more - I travel the world for work and am a pizza addict. I found my way to Niwot CO for a client (Crocs). I try and eat at every pizza place where I end up, since I am a pizza addict. Turns out I lived in the same town as Lefty when we were children and we went to the same High School. Lefty went to Colorado for his Ph.D. in Physics and decided to stay forever (he is an astronomer). Lefty loves pizza like I do, so he made a little pizza place. His pizza is great. If anyone from Colorado wants to know what we eat day to day here in NY, take a trip down to Lefty's and get a cheese pie. Ask Lefty to make it for you, as opposed to the other employees. Then sit and eat it and have him show you some astro photography! You will be glad you went there for a bite! 5 stars for Niwot and Boulder area, and 4 stars compared to Manhattan. In Colorado you won't be able to get NY water and flour from NY flour mills; which I believe makes a difference. But Lefty makes the sauce the way it's supposed to be, uses high quality cheeses and flour and I am sure local water.

Came for a slice despite the low rating because I needed a quick bite. Seeing people's calzones delivered to their tables and they look good. The pizza, not so much. Crust was thin but oily and chewy and just not good. The sauce was tasty so maybe you would have better luck with those fresh baked calzones I'm seeing, but I'm not betting on it. Lefty is friendly... Wife less so

Lefty cooked my pizza. I stood at the counter, chatting and ordering my food, and he asked my name. I told him, and he said, "Guess who I am?" while pointing at his name on his shirt (sort of reminded me of my dad!). He continued to chat with us and all of his employees (his kids?) were just as friendly during our entire visit. Customer Service This whole restaurant is a good example of WYSIWYG. I thought they seemed really friendly - but when I overheard some of the phone calls for pizza orders, I realized it's not just a gimmick; customer service is truly what they believe it. I actually heard one guy say, "You're the customer, so we'll make it work," when he was on a call. Decor Rustic. Simple. Honest. Not necessarily first date material, but the shop is in the cute little downtown area of Niwot. I wished we had gone earlier to check out the shops. (But we did get in a 1 hour hike a few blocks away.) Food I couldn't decide. Luckily, I thought to ask: can you make it half and half? And of course, the answer was yes! I ordered 1/2 Thai chicken and 1/2 cheeseburger. Both were tasty, on a nice crust. My friend ordered a medium pepperoni and mushroom and finished 3/4 of it! I will definitely go back. They make you feel at home. The pizza is tasty. That's all.

Unfriendly staff, unaccomodating setting, and overpriced slices of unnappealing pizza (slices mind you, not full pies) are all ingredients to the worst pizza joint in Niwot. I reccomend a walk across the street to Abo's. Look even to Little Caesar's for improvements to all I've listed above. EDIT The business replied to me with a few comments. I'm editing my comment to reflect what they said. Pizza is, nominally, not overpriced. $1.50 per slice is reasonable for a good slice. Not for this. Establishment defended themselves also by stating Little Caesar's does not sell by the slice. True, but $5 for a pie or $1.50 for a slice of what, in my opinion, is not good pizza. They also called me/my review "embarrassing". I can't quite be bothered with that. But really, is that the best way to change my mind and persuade me? How about "Sorry for a poor experience. Come in another time and we'll show you some TRUE hospitality!". They'll have none of that I guess. I had hoped Lefty's would look at this review and look upon ways to improve the customer experience. Now a disclaimer. You may want to visit this store. You may like their pizza. Go ahead. I don't. I won't.

I do not remember seeing Haterade on the menu at Lefty's. The pizza is exactly what you expect from the style of the sign and the general vibe of the place. Is it the best pizza I've ever had? Not at all, but it's not trying to be. It's a casual place to walk to and grab a couple of slices and ogle high school boys--what? Who said that? Anyhoo...set your expectations to stoner and enjoy Lefty's for what it is.

We ordered 2 pizzas from Lefty's and 2 milkshakes and the bill was around 45 dollars. Lefty's forgot to put mushrooms on both pizzas. That's a lot of money to leave out my favorite ingredient. I called Lefty and he could not believe he left mushrooms off the pizzas and said that about 4 times. So, basically he called me a liar about 4 times. Not sure if people scam him all the time but I'm willing to buy 40 dollars worth of pizza and I'm not trying to get free pizza. Pizza was fine but I think I could have rated it higher if mushrooms were on it. Milkshakes were good. I read the other reviews and I agree that the lady that answers the line isn't friendly.

Food was good, but service was poor. This place was better a couple years ago.

Just had their 18" 1/2 Sarah's Special and 1/2 Christopher's Dream. A young gal cheerfully took my order and gave me the 10% discount from website. Arrived 20 mins later to pickup pizza that was awaiting me. Saw 2 young fellows in there taking phone orders constantly-did you know they sell ice cream as well? People ordering pints of it along with their pizza orders! Anyway we thoroughly enjoyed our tasty pizza and we'll be calling upon them again and again! Thanks Lefty's!

Come on, George. Everything is relative. You can't be deducting stars just because you've had better... 2,000 miles away. Lefty's doesn't deserve an average rating, because the fact is it's above average for its location (i.e., in Colorado) (i.e., IN FRIGGING NIWOT). We've all been to New York and tasted their delicious pizza, and we all agree it is the best, just like everything in New York is the best of everything. Let's just have a little reality check here and come to terms with the fact that New York pizza is not an option for us right now, and we have to make do with what we've got, which really is a delicious, fresh and tasty pie. Try the Seafood Delight (I'm from Maine so I should know if it's good). And there's a rose In a fisted glove And the eagle flies with the dove If you can't eat the 'za you love, Georgey, Love the 'za you're with. UPDATE 11/12/09: Do-do - do - do - do - do - do-do Do-do - do - do - do - do - do-do Do-do - do - do - do - do - do-do Do-do-do Do-do-do

Good, fresh pizza from a local, family-owned business. Generous toppings, home-made crusts, and a wide variety of pre-built or build-your-own pies. Thanks for giving back to our community through your scrip sales and donations to help the St. Francis of Assisi Parish reach its building fund goal!

I'm sorry to say we didn't even get to taste the pizza here. The menu looked enticing, but when we called for delivery the person on the other end of the phone was incredibly rude and short with us and without even excusing herself she put us on hold 3 times within the 2 or 3 minutes we were on the phone with her. Too bad for bad first impressions. We called another pizza delivery place and wow, the difference!

GREAT service, damn good pizza, fast delivery, only thing is how pricey it is (for not exotic ingredients). I'd give it 5 stars otherwise.

Checking out different places that deliver we decided to give lefty's a shot - nice folks, delivery was pretty fast - Pizza was OK... not sure where gourmet fit's into the equation (except reflected in price) but it was passable Wings were horrible - I guess I'm jaded being a Buffalonian but the wings were baked (not fried), barley warm, and barley had any sauce on them - no offer of hot medium or mild when ordered... that should have been a indication. I'm guessing they were from a la nova or similar "authentic" wing precooked/warm up bag - if that is the case my advice is save your pennies and customers and cook your wings in house... and don't bake them.

My favorite Pizza in the Boulder/Longmont area. Great sweet and spicy sauce, medium thick crust, lots of great cheese. My favorite is pineapple and sausage, but if you like meaty pizza, get Lefty's Hefty-an awesome pie.

I liked the fact this place offers calzones, however, 1/2 the time the order is incorrect or the dough is undercooked. And if you order too large a pizza the middle has no bread and the pieces are sloppy and fall apart. I do like their pizza sauce tho.

We've been living in Texas for almost a year and pretty much gave up our search on pizza. Came to Niwot on vacation and really wanted pizza. Gave this place a try and were very pleased. The cheeese was excellent and really made the pizza tasty! Waited 20 mins for a large pizza which is the norm.

I was completing a remodel in Gunbarrel for about a month, and couldn't find a good place for lunch. I'm so glad I ran into this place. I really like the specials of the day: lasagna, two slices & a salad, etc. They are affordable and definitely the best food for the price around that location. It's not fancy, definitely not perfect, but for what it is I love t.

I want to like this place because I live literally 3 minutes from it! I just can't. They offer 21 (21!!! Huh?) gourmet pizzas, but don't seem to have mastered the whole dough-sauce-cheese thing. Focus on making a good plain pizza before you go crazy, guys! A little pricey (Not one $, tbh) but it's Niwot so I get it. 2 main problems with this place, both easily fixed: 1. Pizza is consistently underdone. Just leave it in the oven longer! Seriously! 2. Phone service is poor (if they pick up, which sometimes they don't. Maybe they have random hours? Dunno.) Honestly, we drive to Boulder for Cosmo's or make our own pizza. Sorry Niwot, we're still waiting for a good pie.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
