Was headed through CO, en route to Seattle and stopped for the night in Monument. Having grown up in the CO Springs area, I was really worried we wouldn't find a nice place open on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Thankfully, we stumbled across The Coffee Cup Cafe (TCCC) on Yelp, and swayed by the positive reviews, decided to give it a try. TCCC prides itself on it's 'rustic' offerings and insists it's not a dive or greasy spoon. Unfortunately, you can't help but think 'divey' when you walk into TCCC. It's located in a small strip mall and has a fairly odd layout -- including a 'waiting' room in the back where you'll be asked to move to should it get busy (which is assured; even on an early Sunday morning). The rest of the decor is pretty rural 'mom and pop' and a bit at odds with the very young staff, making TCCC reminiscent of the hipster breakfast joints I've found in Seattle (Cap Hill in particular). Thankfully, there's no hipster 'tax' here and you'll get huge portions at very reasonable prices. Service at TCCC was spot-on -- our waitress was friendly and fairly attentive. Waters were kept filled and our food was hot and precisely what we'd ordered. She happily accommodated a substitution too. Service, overall, was a little slow (even though servers were rushing everywhere) -- but became far more attentive as the crowds cleared out and the servers were left with a little downtime. The food at TCCC is a nice offering of typical american fare -- breakfast foods such as omelets, pancakes and waffles, along with sandwiches, burgers and salads can all be found on their 'newspaper' style menu. I went with their Benedict Scramble -- a delicious concoction of chunky, roasted potatoes and smoky diced ham all shrouded in a buttery hollandaise sauce and crowned with 2 perfectly cooked 'over easy' eggs and a faint dusting of paprika. Yum! Hands down, one of the best breakfast dishes I've had -- everything was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and worked so well together. I also had the hot chocolate, which was milky, perfectly sweetened and definitely worth it. My partner opted for the more traditional Eggs Benedict, which consisted of 2 open-faced, lightly toasted English Muffins topped with a thick slice of griddle-seared ham, delicately poached eggs and that fantastic, buttery hollandaise sauce. Golden, pan-roasted potatoes came on the side. He also had coffee, which he described as 'pretty good'. Kudos for having actual half-and-half too. The gf pancake that came with my meal (a substitution for the toast that came with my meal) was huge -- dinner plate sized -- so my partner and I shared it once we were done with our meals. The pancake was dense, chewy and reminiscent in flavor to marshmallows (or bean flour). Even with a little butter and syrup, it was just 'ok', but definitely an appreciated change of pace from coardboard-like GF toast (or no toast at all). Overall, TCCC was a nice little find in Monument and we really enjoyed taking a walk around the neighborhood afterwards to see the antique cars participating in the local car show. If you're in the Monument area -- The Coffee Cup Cafe is definitely worth checking out.

My love for Monument folk needed no boost, but this establishment and its eclectic, varied array of sweet personalities offered one anyway. I was out looking for Dirty Woman Park to see if it lived up to its name (spoiler: nope), and stopped in for a quick cup of joe to go. Walked past "this is not a greasy spoon" signs and thought "well you know what that means" until I entered the building. The smells that greeted me were intoxicating and made me wish we were staying for breakfast. I got immediate smiles and nodes from patrons crowding the place, from the teens to the older mountaineers at the bar. I gave the young lady seating guests my order and she poured and capped it right away. And didn't charge me! Even if the coffee isn't anything to write home about, there are ways to impress me, and then there is giving me free stuff. That ruled.

Just went here for the first time. Big fan of the location and the food. I ordered the meat skillet and it was loaded with potatoes, bacon, sausage, ham and eggs. So so good. I opted for the sour dough toast-the wheat toast looked great too. It is a busy place and the coffee is endless. The only reason I gave 4*s is because the service was slow and my coffee went dry for a little while. Other than that, this place is on my list of really good breakfast. The corned beef hash must have been good because 3 people at my table ordered it. The French toast looked amazing as well.

Loved the friendly, homey feel of this place! Nothing flashy, but the food was really yummy! I had the corned beef hash, and it was the tastiest hash I've had in CO so far - super flavorful and really good portions. They were willing to make a few substitutions for us, too, without ridiculous up charges (sub fruit for toast on mine and for bacon on my son's - I have to eat dairy-free and we don't eat cured meats). Always appreciated! I do wish they'd use more local, organic ingredients instead of getting their meat products from Sysco (I asked, even the bacon has nitrites...), but otherwise, everything was excellent.

We were lucky enough to get the best waitress today... Haley.. Cute, friendly, efficient... She helped make breakfast a great experience. Wish I could say the same for the people near us ... They were stuck with Mariah... Ignored customers ... Forgot silverware, dropped creamer on the floor ( picked it up and put it on the table) kept people waiting .... So glad we got Haley!

I love this place!! It has a greasy spoon diner kind of feel and they serve HUGE potions. You really get your money's worth. Would recommend their breakfast with pancakes the size of your head ^_^

Great little place to get breakfast decent coffee, good prices and a nice unique item with the breakfast skillets (which I recommend). They also have "mini" breakfast which are just smaller servings which my girlfriend enjoyed when she didn't want to be bogged down by a heavy breakfast.

This is a nice little rustic eatery to grab breakfast! We had the country fried steak skillet. It came out quick and tasted delicious! The service was good and we had a nice time while we were there. We'd definitely come back again!

I have been to the coffee cup many times. The small-town atmosphere and the wonderful wood floors make my experience worthwhile. The food s what you would expect. And the service is pretty good especially because it comes from local high school students for the most part. Go and enjoy and relax slowdown to simpler time.

I had the best experience. First time in Colorado my uncle mentioned this place and it was amazing. Service from Samantha was excellent. And all the waitresses are very helpful and advised me on what else to do in town. I always order pancakes everywhere I go for breakfast and this was by far the best pancake ever. Crispy and buttery not greasy all the way around this huge pancake. And the place was really clean. So good I had to go back before I left town.

Yummy food, great atmosphere and great service! Their breakfast foods are delicious and the waiters are friendly and quick. My favorite place to stop when I'm here from out of town.

Went here for breakfast this AM. Biscuits and gravy. Consistently good in the past, not so much today. Biscuits were hockey pucks. New owners, cause and effect?

Ticket was lost, food took a really long time. Server didn't bring sugar free syrup, food sat in the window for a long time and was not hot. The server didn't check back with us.

The food is a traditional menu and it's good. The staff is mostly high school students who do a good job. It's set up as a traditional cafe with its furniture and location in old town Monument. They serve breakfast and lunch, but not dinner.

A LOCAL hang out serving home cooked meals by caring folks. Service is outstanding. Today I had a meat lovers skillet and it was wonderful.

Happened upon this wonderful haven and stopped in for a very late breakfast, mid Sunday afternoon. The two of us dined on crab and avocado omelets. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent and very eclectic atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious! If you're looking for a local spot with great food and good service, this is your place!! My husband, a complete food snob, ordered the #13.5, breadpudding french toast. Holy. Smokes. It was fantastic!!! Just enough flavor, nice texture, filling but not heavy. I ordered the #0, chorizo breakfast burrito. As a Texan I was honestly kind of nervous. It far exceeded my expectations! Its HUGE, so bring an appetite, share with someone or plan on having it for dinner as well! All around a sweet little diner. Would definitely go there again on future trips through Colorado!

The CC Continues to be a reliable standby. I came in this morning. Service was decent but not stellar... Despite their name, my Coffee Cup remained perpetually empty. Food was similarly decent but not outstanding. I ordered the Huevos Potatoes. The green salsa was unusually salty, but the eggs & potatoes were cooked to perfection.

I just moved to Monument and was in a jam to feed the family that was there to help. I Yelped breakfast restaurants and came across this one...so glad. First of all, it's a hoping place but they efficiently sat everyone then bussed the tables quickly to get more customers sat down. The food was good and made to order. The best part was their service. Immediate greetings during a busy time, friendly wait staff with everyone and checked in on me while I waited for my to-go order. Lots of people waving and speaking to eachother so the small town vibe was priceless too.

Definitely a sweet little spot in the middle of nowhere. I had a friend lead me left and right and then left again to somehow land in front of the small shop with no discernible street parking. "Where do I park?" "Wherever you want." "Where are the parking lines." "Would you just park already?!" (Some of us need that 3rd cup of coffee more than others it seems.) We arrived closer to closing than I would have liked but we didn't think about lunch till it was far too late and I was too indecisive all day. In the end, I decided I needed a big Cinnabon type roll and googling it brought up this quaint little joint. I can only comment on the coffee and cinnamon roll for now but I can attest to the Serranos coffee and the ooey gooey cinnamon icing of the giant cinnamon roll. It tastes like a sweet rolled up piece of cinnamon toast covered in sweet sweet ambrosia. It will now be my special reward for hitting the gym every day. I can do it!

I've been coming here for years, and it remains high on my breakfast list. The Coffee Cup is an awesome breakfast place- the sausage biscuits and gravy is my all time favorite! Very traditional, and great food!

I went here for breakfast mostly due to the stellar reviews. I entered before my group and asked for a table for 4. I was not led to a table, but instead just told which tables were open. Once I sat down, I was not given menus or even acknowledged by the staff. Even when the rest of my party arrived, the staff did not acknowledge our presence. We had to ask one of the waiters before we were even given a menu and even then, he proceeded to clean off nearby tables before attending to us. Their espresso machine was broken, and their regular coffee was sub-par. The food, once ordered was delivered promptly. I had the Huevos Potatoes which were substantial, but nothing to write home about. It was done well, but the green chili wasn't the rave that the waiting staff was advertising. However, it was cheap and I can't argue with that. Not a bad experience, but I would definitely call it a mediocre diner than a rustic dining spot.

We eat here frequently since it's close, and the food is dependably good! Service usually isn't great and the place seems to be staffed with teenagers, but the food & price outweigh the lack of professionalism. If you go here on a weekend prepare to wait a while, but its worth it!

We really, really wanted to love this place. We have been twice and the first time the food was ok but it was unbelievably slow coming out and then parts of the meal didn't make it out. We were given 2 free meals to use at a later time which we redeemed today. Our server today was great but the kitchen left off items specifically requested and though both burgers were asked to be medium well, one was very rare. We had to send it back because the cheese wasn't on it, and then when it came back out we noticed how raw it was. The jalapeños were left off mine. They gave us the 2 kids meals free and not our entrees...so we had to pay for the most expensive items one of which was not even cooked. They gave us another free meal voucher but at this point, I doubt we will ever go back again. We are sorely disappointed because we love supporting our local businesses.

Great little breakfast place. My boyfriend for the skillet and I have to admit I was envious. It looked so good and he enjoyed it greatly. The pancakes were on point as well. Love that is kinda tucked away

Stars are for this type of restaurant which is a good old hometown establishment for the locals. The bottom line is the the prices are inexpensive and the breakfast I had was good. Eggs over medium, toast, potatoes and fruit. (fruit was canned not fresh) but nothing was greasy and the place was clean. Clean is very important in my book. And they gave me a cup of coffee to go (no charge thank you) Also I needed a Geocache and there was one close by. The review by Tim K was overly harsh, I think he is comparing this establishment to a 5 star restaurant:( On my way back to Oregon

The Coffee Cup Cafe is an amazing small-business breakfast joint, and is one of my favorites. Huge portions for decent prices, friendly staff, and a convenient location. The atmosphere does not match everything else, and the waiting room is awkwardly past the dining room. However, once you sit down and order a nice meal, you won't be disappointed. A family favorite and a great place to get some brunch!

Decided to try something new in Monument today. Arrived with no issue finding parking. Walked in and found our way to the register but were ignored by the first 3 people that walked by. When someone asked if we'd been helped, I asked if it was a "seat yourself" situation. She said no we have a wait list. Problem was there were at least 10 open tables and no one else standing around waiting. After a 5-8 minute wait we were seated before the party of 2 in front of us?? Sat down and the waiter was quick to take drink orders. I ordered the Mainly Marine Meal with French Toast, all bacon and eggs soft scrambled (#10). The wait for the food was fairly short 8-10 minutes. The first odd thing was that my meal arrived 2 minutes before my wife's meal. The meal is huge to starters and looked good when it was sat I front of me, unfortunately that is where it ends. The Sourdough French Toast was cold and over cooked. The eggs were soft about 5 minutes before they hit the plate the Bacon, although close to crisp was also cold. The only thing in the plate that was hot were the potatoes, and they were the best part of the meal! The coffee was fresh but the orange juice is made from concentrate so nothing special there. Overall this meal and experience is a 3 of 5 on this visit. At the point I decide to give it another try I will update the rating if it deserves it.

Stopped here for the first time today- it was not busy at all on a Sunday afternoon. we were directed to sit on one side of the restaurant, picked our table, our waitress was a very nice lady who offered friendly service and answered questions about the menu with knowledge and confidence. The food was average I think for the most part, but next time I am trying their crepes! I would do 3 stars for the food, and 4 stars for the service. We'll be back. :)

Had the early bird breakfast special. 2 eggs cooked to order, sausage, home fries and toast all for $3.50...can't beat that. Of course there's some fine print: order before 8:00 am and you need to buy a beverage. Still this is a great meal and a great deal. Eggs were cooked perfectly, red potatoes home fries were good as well as the sourdough toast. The coffee is made from Serrano grounds...very rich and flavorful. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend grew up in Monument so he's been here a bunch - and I've been a handful of times over the three and a half years we've been together...but that might just be because of the lack of other options in such a small town. They claim that they're not a "greasy spoon" but a "fine rustic restaurant experience." I'd say they're a "less greasy spoon" but there's really nothing wrong with that. The decor is shabby and I imagine it's been the same for years and years. Every time we've been - even when you'd think this small town's after-church crowd would be out in throngs - we've found a seat right away. Service is always prompt and friendly, though yesterday our server was a bit awkward and seemed to be new - he didn't know that skim milk was the same as non-fat, and had never heard of poached eggs before. The food is just alright. Depending on what you get, sometimes it's ok and sometimes it's downright awful. I will say that one time we went I got a skillet with potatoes, eggs, green chile, sausage and cheese which was pretty darn good, the best I've had at The Cup. Yesterday's meal left a bit to be desired. I ordered the French Toast Stacker (made with sourdough) and asked for poached eggs. I got french toast and sunny side up eggs. The serving of french toast was small but for $8, I guess it was an ok value. The french toast itself was a bit soggy - and don't get me wrong, I don't mind a custardy center but even the outside wasn't browned. The boyfriend got the trout breakfast (trout, eggs, toast, and potatoes). The potatoes were over buttered and the trout was dry. His was a bit more expensive ($14). Last note: they do carry Serrano's Coffee now and offer espresso drinks. I ordered a mocha which is made with pre-made chocolate milk so a non-fat option was not available. The drink wasn't bad, but at $4.50 I won't order it again. We'll be back...until we find some place we like more.

We eat here as often as we can. It has very good food, friendly people to greet and serve us. The menu has many selections for breakfast and lunch. Prices are reasonable and you can get a table of booth with a short or no wait at all.

Best I have food... Hometown favorite! The quality of the home fries, skillets, and omelets are superb. Service is great and always filled on weekends. Friends drive from Cheyenne Mt area to eat here.

Definitely a favorite place for locals. Great breakfast and so cheap. Can't beat it!!! The skillets are amazing and the decor is small town America at it's finest. Been going here for years ands have never been disappointed.

Menu so big it's hard to decide. Every item I have had on the menu is affordable and home cooked. The best place for a home cooked breakfast. There Chorizo skillet is one of the best choices.

Not a great first time at Coffee Cup Cafe. Our server was incredibly inexperienced and the food was average or below average. After taking our food order, our server apparently went on break, not bothering to ensure that someone else would take care of us. We waited about 45 minutes before I finally lost my patience and asked a guy (maybe a manager?) what was going on. Our server immediately reappeared and was very apologetic. Our food eventually arrived but it was really mediocre. Only upside was that she comp'ed our whole meal. I don't think we'll be back though- there's much better food to be had in downtown C Springs. Parking was very easy on a Sunday late morning. Menu is fairly large, so maybe we just ordered the wrong things.

It was pretty busy when we went on a Saturday morning. Typical breakfast menu with a few interesting options. The place definitely has that "small town locals mostly" feel, which is fine with us. Service was fast and friendly. Food was fine... nothing bad nothing to rave about. The coffee, unfortunately, was weak and a bit of a disappointment. But we'll definitely go again sometime...

  • Tommy S.

Great local restaurant best for breakfast. Think local joint and this is it. The portions are huge and the food is great though it really isn't anything exotic. Try the biscuits and gravy or the Eggs Benedict. The ambiance is exactly what you would expect of a local fare restaurant; plain and casual. If you are looking for a classy, look elsewhere. Also, it is a relatively small place, so I wouldn't try to come in with a big party on a weekend morning. Our experience with the service has been good to date and we haven't seen the issues described in other reviews.

  • Graciela G.

Passing though, from Boulder to Santa Fe. Great place to stop for a bite and pick up a little town history and feel for the community with your meal. I recommend the green chile/chili. History of the cafe on the front page of the menu is a start, stop in the lounge to see and read about more recent notable events. I love the chance to support local businesses active in the community. Made my day, with good food and great service!

This place was a disappointment. A friend recommended it for breakfast. The carpet was really dirty and the food was average at best. My wife didn't like the coffee or the fact that they didn't have any muffins or pastry at all. Only toast. It is not cheap either. Service was OK.

Easy parking, extremely attentive wait staff, immediate seating with a thorough menu. This is a very good local cafe worth a try, we'll definitely be back.

Going to The Coffee Cup Cafe was like stepping through a Stargate portal and into a midwest hole on the wall. The other morning it was jam packed with good ol boy types and those who love comfort food. Our waitress was kinda "short", with a "Whadda want?" attitude. The ambiance... Well about that... Lots and lots of boring tan and brown tones. Awkward church pew type booths. Some of the walls had paint that was cracking and peeling. When you see the saying, "We are not a dive or greasy spoon but a fine rustic eating establishment", on the servers' shirts and in the menu; you can only expect that the food is the typical greasy spoon fare. It is dead giveaway. So let's talk about that food. I had the Huevos Potatoes (hash-brown potatoes smothered in cheese, 2 eggs however you like, and red or green chili). It was a sloppy mess but was pretty good. It just didn't have much of a kick, so I doused everything with hot sauce. My wife had the Meat Lovers Skillet. I had to sample it and it was piled high with sausage, ham and bacon. Mmm! Can't really beat that combo. The hot pad that the skillet was served on was filthy, it looked like they used it to clean the cook top. It was slimy and soaked in grease. The Coffee Cup Cafe might be a place I would goto again - if someone was buying. If you have to pick between Shani's and TCCC, definitely go here. All in all this place could use Chef Ramsey's help. I might just refer them to Kitchen Nightmares.

Average, Average, Average Breakfast Fare! Eggs, hash browns, pancakes, french toast, breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy -- are all of the same caliber you would find at Denny's or Village Inn. The place itself is retro (and not in a good or fun way) -- in much need of a face lift. I thought the service was some of the most unprofessional, inept and inexperienced that i had encountered in a long time. On my recent visit, though the place was packed, I had to listen to several high-school aged waitresses go "on and on" about how the patrons were not tipping enough that morning, and that it was not worth their time to come in. The young help engaged in lots of personal and inappropriate chatter with each other, at the expense of serving the customers (no wonder so many customers were stiffing them that morning.) I never got a refill on my coffee, nor did anyone ever check up on me, though I was sitting right in front of their noses at the counter. not recommended!

OMFG! I have been coming here since 1989, and it is still one of my favorite greasy spoons EVER. I just returned from two years in Diner country (PA and NJ) and a lot of the places over there can't hold a candle to the Coffee Cup. I am glad to see they have had the opportunity to expand and be successful throughout some challenged over the years. The original is still the best! Keep it up! Try their corned beef hash...that's getting harder and harder to find these days and theirs is amazing!

We went for lunch this week and had an okay experience. Our server was inexperienced and not very professional. The people sitting behind us left because it took so long to get their food and it was cold when it finally did arrive. The server never apologized and just walked away and talking to himself outloud. Our food was decent, but we will likely opt for Rosie's Diner in the future (one of our favorites). One more thing...they charged $2.99 for a drink, which is outrageous.

Really is the best breakfast in town! Recommended to us by a local, we weren't disappointed. The Denver scrambler was really delicious, and the coffee (they serve Seranno's, a local coffee) was delightful!!! I had three cups and took one to go... The atmosphere is bustling and homey. I couldn't figure out the organization of the joint, but the servers made a great team and took care of all of their customers well. Will return next time we visit!

Disgusting is the only word for this place. Ordered scrambled eggs and the yellow and whites of the eggs were separate and they were flat and resembled something that looked like a scab. No pride in serving great food, no thanks...

Great breakfast fare. Everything is always fresh. The wait staff could be friendlier and the place itself could be cleaner, but the food makes up for that. I agree with Tim K that Chef Ramsees could do a world of good here!!! Awesome coffee too!

  • Brian M.

Depending on how the spirits move the waitstaff and cooks, they can be either good or bad. We have been treated rudely in the past, and the food has varied from very good to horrendous. Just went this past week and we were greeted well and the breakfast was fantastic...hot, plentiful, fresh and tasty. I like their sausage patties and corned beef, and my daughters were blown away by the enormous buttermilk pancakes. My big eater brother swears by the number 1 combo burrito with green chili. He says its everything one could want on one plate. They need to do a thorough cleaning, as the floors and walls are getting grubby, but they do have a pretty good breakfast still.

Something has gone seriously wrong here. Been here two weeks in a row, after having been a customer for 15 years. Service has taken over an hour each time and there is no explanation. They really need to write something to explain what is going on. If it is new ownership or staff, we'll understand. But please, let us know what has happened. Thanks.

I am definitely a breakfast/brunch person. ALWAYS on the look out for a new place to add to my rotation. As this place has been open for a while I'm not sure why it took my so long to try them. (FYI these guys used to have a second place that was in Gleneagle but they sold it so if you were wondering yes this is the same place). This place is a little off the beaten path in Monument, just around the corner from the main drag. It's a decent size for a breakfast/brunch place. The boyfriend and I went a little later in the day (noonish) and had no problem getting a seat right away. Our server was Barb and she was very sweet, gave us plenty of time to look over the large menu (large for a place only serving breakfast/lunch and open to 3pm daily). I got the mini French toast stack that was served with a slice of french toast, choice of bacon/sausage (I got the sausage patty and it was delicious!!) and 2 eggs. Gotta say the french toast was meh... basically a piece of Wonder bread dipped in an eggy batter and fried up. Very reminiscent of what I made when I was a teenager when I didn't really know how to cook... AKA not really good. The eggs and sausage patty were very good however, and next time I might just get toast instead of the french toast. My boyfriend got one of their specialties, their colossal burrito covered in green chili, sour cream and cheese. It's HUGE. The plate the burrito comes on is wider than him. The burrito spans the entire length of the plate. It has country fries on one side and lettuce/tomato/olives on the other as well as another tortilla (just incase). The burrito had sausage, eggs, onions, and green peppers inside and was very good. The green chili and cheese on the outside meshed together, basically tasted like a queso..... VERY good. My boyfriend ate the entire thing (except the extra tortilla). I've seen a couple of people on here complaining about the interior of the place. Yes it's drab and kinda blah, looks like it has been here a while. So if your looking for a place that has a nice ambiance, well you won't get it here. But remember your eating breakfast.... greasy, delicious breakfast at a local spot. So just kick back and enjoy the food.... save the money for ambiance for a place like Marigold's during dinner. FYI they serve Serranos coffee and it's VERY good!

We tried this dinner on a trip through Colorado based on the Yelp reviews & boy, are we glad we did! Very friendly staff, clean cafe, homey feel, great food that's priced right. It's so good to get away from the chains when you can.

My wife and I enjoyed breakfast here twice in a row, because we enjoyed it so much! The food is excellent, the service is great, and the small town atmosphere is delightful. I ordered the chicken fried steak skillet the first day, and the heuvos potatoes the next. Both were excellent! My wife loved the classic breakfast options and the scramblers. We'll definitely be back!

Thank you YELP! We were traveling back home from Boulder and searching for a place to eat breakfast and we used you YELPERS for help. This is a great find. I ordered the Denver Scramble. I was not disappointed. It was GOOD.

The Coffee Cup Cafe is quickly becoming my go-to breakfast spot. The food is great and the service is fantastic. Today I had the $2.99 Early Bird special, which was awesome! The special came with two eggs, country potatoes, bacon, and toast. I've also had the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast skillet before, which is also a highly recommended menu item. The Coffee Cup Cafe is a great place to have excellent homestyle food in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with outstanding service from the wait staff. It also doesn't hurt that it is close to one of my favorite fishing spots in the area. I plan on stopping here every time I go fishing.

The go-to place for breakfast in Monument. Great skillets. Huevos Potatoes with Green Chile are a must. The home fires ARE very good. Local Serrano's coffee. Big cinnamon rolls. If you are in the area and need a great local breakfast, this is the place.

Don't waste your time or money... Food was horrible and the service was even worse...Took 45min to get our food...Would have been better off with a bowl of Cheerios!!!

They know what they want to do, and they do it great! I was in CO Springs visiting friends, and they dragged me up to Monument for breakfast. At first I was skeptical, as I am usually early on weekends, but I'm a believer now. Large portions, hearty food, friendly "down home" staff, and nothing too gimmiky (I refuse to order some of the Denny's items, only because I refuse to say the names of them). I know my friends were initially in a panic because I guess it caught fire recently, but they (my friends) are doing much better now, apparently it has reopened and is just as good as before. Sorry I can't speak to the lunch/dinner menu, but I would definitely go again for breakfast and would at least give the other meals a fair shake.

Yummy Yummy food. And Matt there is fantastic. Love all the staff but Matt goes out of his way to make you feel at home! And extra yummy are the potatoes!

Oh my gawd. I couldn't believe there were no reviews for this outstanding "hole-in-the-wall" cafe where the "meals are well-balanced but the staff is not." When it comes to cooking breakfast, they also advise you "not to try this at home." ("We are professionals.") We lived in Monument from 1996-2005, and we had breakfast here often. The food is absolutely GREAT! The home fries have onions and other good seasonings. The corned beef hash and patty sausage are very tasty. And I don't know how they do their bacon, but it is the standard we use to compare all other cafes across the country. Thick, spicy, and chewy, it makes your mouth water and your cardiologist faint.

Wow! This is the dream "local flavor" restaurant! I love local "hole-in-the-wall" places, and The Coffee Cup Cafe is right there with the best - and I've eaten at local restaurants all over Colorado. I had the best breakfast burrito I've ever had today. It was fresh, full of awesome sausage and eggs and smothered with delicious green chili. The side of grilled potatoes was amazing - crispy, but not burnt. My wife had a pecan cinnamon roll that was as good as we've ever tasted. it came out hot with with a steaming, frothy pecan icing. The place was very busy, but there was a whole team of very friendly waitresses and bus persons so we were never ignored. They kept the coffee hot and the service prompt. I can't believe I've lived in Colorado Springs for 18 years and never heard of this place. I guarantee, The Coffee Cup Cafe will be a regular from now on. I can't wait to try lunch.....
