La Casa Fiesta is a restaurant I really want to like, but it gives me a reason every time to be disappointed. The food is average at best and service is sad. The patio is a draw, but its a siren song. so many other places to spend money and get decent food. I think this is our last try. chips and salsa came out reasonably fast. Mild salsa tasted like canned tomatoes like another reviewer mentioned. we mixed to the two to make it tolerable. It went sideways after that. Our drink orders took forever to come out once they were ordered. strangely the beers took longer than the margaritas to get out. Dinner order went in and came out in reasonable time but sour cream and corn tortillas were missing and noted when order came out. My green chili burrito come out without the green chili but I didnt bother at this point. After two more requests (20 min in) the waitress got huffy and said the kitchen was backed up and it would take a few minutes. We are talking about sour cream (in a cup) and corn tortillas (which certainly aren't homemade) so I do not know what took so long. She settled down after that, but probably too late to salvage. Bottom line is that it sucks to have a bad dining experience when out with good friends. Life is too short to waste it on bad food.

Typical poor Mexican food found here in El Paso County... I've been to La Casa Fiesta on prior occasions and had always left disappointed. Last night was no exception, but we did have a BOGO coupon which was why I was sweet-talked into going. The patio area is one of the best in El Paso County. So much so that I can't even think of a rival. You can sit near the fire pit or a propane heater. Or waitress was nice, and efficient. The chips seemed to have this day old taste. I tried the mild salsa and immediately pushed it to the furthest corner from me. It was sooo bland. The spicy salsa was pretty decent. On to the food... I got the biggest combo platter they had. I mean, what better way to counteract the hour and a half at the gym right? The taco was terrible. It had the smell and probably taste of canned dog food. Rice and beans were typical and ok. The cheese enchilada with red sauce was good but then again it would be really hard to screw that up. The chili relleno was God awful. Sure it had the requisite egg batter shell, but it was more of an omelet than the crispy goodness it should have been. I took one bite to confirm my suspicions that it was going to be awful. It had the same dog foody ground beef inside of it. The only highlight of my meal was the pork tamale. It had a perfectly spicy red sauce and large pieces of pork. The masa was slightly sweet and it wasn't crumbly. Unless I hear rumors that La Casa Fiesta has made huge changes to their food quality I am going to put up a fight to not go there again.

I swear we live at this place - eat there every Friday and have used it several times to host special occasions with friends and out of towners. Wonderful bar and drinks, uber friendly staff and better tex mex than I can even find in Texas. Finding parking after 5pm can be a challenge though.

Shittiest food in Monument... I'm sorry, but I cannot stand this food... It is sad that they claim that it is Mexican food!!! I have eaten there 3 different times, (going back because I know someone who likes it (IDK how) and won't take no for an answer) and I have vomited every time after eating there... I have a strong Mexican heritage, and am ashamed that they claim this is Mexican food... It tastes like they took a bunch of crappy quality foods and put them on a plate... If you are looking for good food, go to Rodolfo's Mexican Grill in the Walmart shopping center about 2 miles away... The food there is real, tastes AMAZING, and is cheap... The food at La Casa Fiesta is expensive and tastes TERRIBLE. I have vowed to never-ever eat at McDonalds again, but I would be more apt to eat there than at La Casa Fiesta again. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, EAT HERE!!! WHAT SO EVER!

To be honest most Mexican places to me are basically the same. The food here is good, not spectacular. Their hot salsa is very good, has my mouth burning after a few mins. The mild salsa is terrible, it's basically v8 juice.

Um.... Just terrible. The hostess was atrocious. I get that you are in high school and working on a Saturday afternoon is a real bummer but get over it and get over yourself. We arrived at 4:00 p.m. on a Saturday. There were plenty of tables open on the patio but the hostess told us maybe we should just sit inside. We argued with her for about five minutes before relenting and going inside. When we arrived inside, the hostess inside said that we would have to wait as there was nowhere to sit. Um... I see a table right over there!!!!!!! You liar! We are seated and the only saving attribute to the restaurant walks up; our waitress. She is friendly, quick, and professional. Our food, mediocre would be generous.

I just moved here from Texas, so I was wary about trying a Mexican place. La Casa Fiesta doesn't compete with the great Mexican and Tex-Mex in San Antonio, but it's passable fare. I wouldn't refuse to eat there again, but I wouldn't make a special trip to do so. I did not care for their salsa, but that's true of pretty much any cooked salsa--they all remind me of Pace. I did not taste much difference between the "hot" and "mild" salsas, beyond a heavier hand of some kind of spice (maybe cumin?) in the "hot". We had the queso as an appetizer, and it was good, as pretty much all melted cheese dips are. There was a giant, increasingly soggy tortilla chip in the middle of the bowl of queso, which was a little weird and mostly just got in the way until someone ate it. I ordered the carnitas, and the pork was well seasoned, but a little over cooked/dry. The calabacita was cheesier than I expected (I don't normally see cheese involved), but was probably the tastiest part of the meal. The rice and beans were not great, and I pretty much left them alone. The place was packed for dinner on a Tuesday night, and it was loud enough that we had a hard time hearing each other at our table. Service was quick and efficient.

Great patio on a dry evening...unfortunately, I went on a wet one. Server was nice. Food, not so great. Hot salsa is best, mild is tasteless. Ordered a simple meal and it was just average. Prices are high, place is semi-clean. If you want to go out and spend time with friends then this place is fun but if you want to have a good authentic meal, this place misses the mark. I will only return if I am invited again on a group outing, otherwise I will skip this "average" place and venture over to my hole in the wall Mexican Grill.

UPDATE- I always seem to come here when i'm starving and end up filling up on the chips and salsa. The food and service is decent, but both times i've eaten here i've ended up taking multiple trips to the bathroom with a terrible tummy ache :( I don't know if it's my aging stomach, or the food is just too rich, but either way, i'm not coming back :( sad panda.

The service is improving and I have to say they are stepping up their game on the food. I'd still like to see authentic street tacos on the menu, but for now I'll settle for the insanely good pork tamales I had today. Wow. I was so full I couldn't move after :-)

I have been to The Casa Fiesta many times in the past and always have enjoyed myself. They make some really good Margaritas, go for the gold. The service is good and the bartenders know their stuff. Last time Ibwas there the owners stopped by to make sure everything was ok, pretty cool. If you get anything smothered in chili try their Colorado Chili.

This is the best Mexican we've been able to find. Sometimes the chili is way to hot other that everything we have had is good.

Definitely not what I would consider authentic Mexican food. Service was ok. Salsa was bland and it seemed like the cook's strategy was to put as much cheese as possible on my wife's and my order....The prices are high for what you get. I prefer Rodolfo's 1st for flavor/value, but would go with 3 Margarita's next if you want more of an authentic Mexican sit down dinner

Sadly the beef was boiled / tough with the fajitas and no flavor/ plus the cheese was dry out of a bag or something.. I say sad because it's a cute place.. Maybe drinks and chips but nothing else .. Very poor and expensive .

Taco Tuesdays are the best. I love the crispy beef tacos. The spouse opted for fish tacos. Both were fantastic. And of course, the margaritas were as good as always.

This is a good mexican restaurant. Nothing over the top but good solid food for a reasonable price. The patio is decent but the general ambiance inside is tacky.

We went here last night because we have passed it many times and it is always busy. Well we loved the atmosphere and the outside dining is top notch. We loved that part of it totally. Now the service wasn't bad, just slow. We thought maybe out waitress was super busy but there were some empty tables around us so who knows. She did move like she was busy but it didn't feel like we were actually being catered too but like we were actually waiting on her to show up. I have to say the food was pretty darn good; our only disappointed was the fajitas since the beef was really stringy and the chicken was bland. Oh and like everyone else has mentioned the regular salsa is gross and it does taste like tomato sauce. But the hot salsa rocked it. We did make an agreement to give them another chance but to stay away from the fajitas nest time. If they didn't have such a great outdoor dining room then I think we wouldn't try it again. Oh last thing is to park in the street, this parking lot gets crazy and can be annoying to get out of.

As my wife just said, "I wouldn't come back here, even if it was free." I hope for their sake that this was not the norm. The chile con queso dip tasted like it was made with powdered cheese. The quesadilla had no flavor. The shrimp fajitas were decent. Definitely the best part. Apparently their happy hour must be what brings people in.

I grew up on amazing, authentic Mexican food at home and being from Texas, also had my fill of good Tex-Mex. This was neither. While visiting Colorado, a friend took me to La Casa Fiesta for lunch with our toddlers. The restaurant itself is really cute and has a great atmosphere, the food and service left much to be desired. First, we got chips and salsa. The hot sauce was pretty good, but the mild sauce they gave us tasted like canned tomatoes in ketchup. It was not edible at all. We ordered the Rocky Mountain Queso, which was supposed to be loaded Queso (meat, guac, etc. in the Queso) and the waitress almost immediately brought out a tiny bowl of orange, clumpy Queso that was gross and had no extras in it - it tasted like it was made with generic velveeta or powdered cheese - I don't know, it was just really bad, tasted old, and an insult to real Queso. I ordered the Chile Rellenos, my friend ordered the taquitos with a side bowl of rice, fries for her daughter, and a soft taco with no cheese (with beans and rice on the side) for my daughter. Our waitress, who seemed kind of bewildered despite it not being busy at all and us having a relatively small table (seriously, 2 adults and 2 kids shouldn't be that hard to serve), brought out the fries first and gave them to my daughter, we thought nothing of it at first - simple mistake, so we gave the fries to my friend's daughter. Next, the waitress brought out my daughter's taco - except it was covered in cheese and hard shelled, the total opposite of what we had asked for. She also gave my daughter a bowl of rice, but we figured out that was my friend's side of rice and not my daughter's, by then, my daughter was super hungry and started digging in, so we had to ask the waitress to take back the taco and bring another thing of rice for my friend. There was no apology from the waitress for the multiple mess ups, she just grabbed the food and said she'd send it back to get fixed, but acted as though the taco issue was our problem or like she hadn't paid attention at all in the first place "oh so now you want a soft taco with no cheese?". We ended up all getting our orders soon after and they were correct this time. My friend's dish was OK, no complaints there. My Rellenos were not that great, they were drowned in sauce that was kind of bland and a bit soggy, but I was hungry, so I finished most of my plate. Unfortunately, after our less than OK experience, my stomach hasn't been right. So that was kind of the icing on the cake for me. For what you get, La Casa Fiesta is overpriced - the service is awful, but eerily fast, and the food is extremely cheaply made and tasted old/pre-made, and the stomach disruption thereafter proved to me that the food was old/cheap - it was nowhere near authentic. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys decent Mexican food and doesn't want to be surprised by moctezuma's revenge from an American restaurant.

A locally owned and local hangout and busy most nights. Went last night with friends and Dane was our server. EXCELLENT service and food was good. We sat in the open garage area and flies were bad. Coke Products. Chips should be served warm but not- I like the hot salsa better which is mild compared to many but the mild is just to bland. A romantic place for the young at heart.

This place is good. We've got relatives in the area that we visit about 2-3 times a year. This was my second experience with La Casa Fiesta . . . once dining in and once carry-out. The place is always crowded, and that's a good sign. The menu offers a good variety. I especially like the stacked New Mexico style chicken enchiladas with green chile sauce. The rest of the gang had traditional rolled cheese and onion enchiladas with red chile sauce. No complaints from anyone. I'd recommend La Casa Fiesta for friendly service and quality food.

Love the patio! But pass on the Mexican Salad- very little flavor to be labeled Mexican!

Had lunch here on a warm Friday afternoon, seated in the covered outdoor area. Waitress was great, very friendly but not intrusive, and she knew her menu items. Hubby had the pork carnitas which he said were rich but tasty. I had the taco salad, which they substituted black beans for the taco meat. I was initially dismayed that meat was in every dish, but they can didn't balk at substituting so that's a plus. The "hot" salsa was good, but the mild salsa tastes like tomato sauce to me, and I don't care for super-hot salsa. Most Mexican places put way too much salt in everything but this place didn't -- a good thing. Chips and guacamole were perfect. We'll go back here again.

Food was decent but it lacked heat and flavor... Service was sub-par at best. I would not return unless major changes to the menu and staff were made. I am from Texas so my standards for mexican food are higher than most Americans and I prefer spicy food, but if you are okay with run of the mill Americanized mexican food then you will like this place just fine.

Service: Krista was our server. Pleasant and prompt. Attentive. Drink refills and chips as needed. Food: Ordered the combo (Relleno, burrito, and beef taco). I asked if the Relleno was fried and Krista said yes. I meant deep fried. She meant egg-batter pan fried. Not so great. The burrito and taco were good sized and stuffed well. Worth ordering. I'll pass on the rellenos in the future. My wife had the fajitas with chicken and beef. The chicken was tender and flavorful. Good portion. The steak was a little dry and tough, but good flavor. Chips and salsa were plentiful, but their mild salsa seemed like chopped tomatoes with no seasoning. The spicy had some kick and good flavor. I'm fairness, a friend who has never steered me wrong, really likes the fajitas. Maybe I just had a bad bite. Small town feel and outdoor seating is a plus. Price reasonable compared to "on the border" and I think portions here are a little bigger. I say worth trying.

ATMOSPHERE: I lived the outdoor patio, it compliments the laid back vibe of Monument. SERVICE: Bless her heart, but when the phrase of "you guys are keeping me busy" comes along I can't help but feel like she doesn't like working. We were one party of 6, is it a crime to enjoy a thorough amount of chips because you insist on bringing out salsa as a priority over our order? Interesting logic. Maybe I'm just bitter because of the terrible drink recommendation for a prickly pear mojito. Mind you that is the bartender's doing; however, when the waitress usually asks "if you have any questions let me know" and then doesn't really have an answer when it comes to drinks or food...questionable. It happened at multiple tables, if you're new and ignorant, just tell me. I know we just met, we have a new relationship, but just be honest with me. Rant done. FOOD: Prickly Pear Mojito-left it on the table because it was way too sweet and honestly an alarming fuchsia color. Salsa and Chips- the hot salsa was spicy, liked it and ate a lot of it...the medium tasted like a weird marinara sauce, I stayed away from it. Aztec Salad- the taco shell was a little less brown then I would like it. The chicken was juicy and good. The rest of the salad was good. Looking over the rest of the menu it was your pretty standard trying-to-be-Mexican joint. Overall, it was a meh...really translating to - nothing special. PRICE: The prices were average, it matched the quality of food. GO AGAIN?: I would not choose to go to this place again. I would tag along if my friends wanted to, but I'd probably stick to something simple and no drinks. Maybe I'm just a jerk and am not giving this place enough credit, the world is cruel and unfair. As much as I loved the location and atmosphere, I still came to eat first and foremost.

Visited this place on Monday night and had a party of 7. They accommodated us perfectly. This restaurant is located not too far off I-25 and is really easy to find. They have a great outdoor patio with fireplaces and nice lighting. The menu is abundant and have dishes that are not so typical of other Mexican places I have visited. The food has great flavor and arrived quickly and hot. I can't say I am a huge fan of their chips however since they tasted as though they were straight out of the bag. The service was excellent and I would eat here again when I am in the area.

Silverado margarita, a cheese or chicken enchilada a la carte and a side of guacamole. Now it's just about perfect!

My family has enjoyed La Casa Fiesta for years though I've never written a review. For us, it's one of those places that we love to go to in the summer when we can enjoy the terrific outdoor patio and the laid back Monument vibe. We go less in the winter months but whenever our boys get to pick a Mexican eatery, this is the one they choose. Now, why the average rating? Simple: the food is hit or miss. We've been going long enough to know which menu items are the hits but, like most Mexican spots in Colorado Springs, there are a lot of misses too. I really wish I knew why this was true. It simply baffles me. Anyway, I hope I can make your experience a good one by sharing my thoughts on the "hits". 1) The Margaritas are good but avoid the House version. Step it up to a more premium version and you'll be pleased. 2) The Chips and Salsa - I know some people disagree but we love the chips and the hot salsa. Forget the mild. It tastes like Tomato Sauce. 3) The New Mexico Style Enchiladas - A unique, open faced spin on the enchilada. Avoid the beef. Chicken or Carnitas is best 4) Fajitas - Tasty, generous portions and well seasoned veggies. The Carnitas are the best choice but the steak is not bad either. The Chicken is bland. 5) Taco Burrito - This is one of the dishes these guys are famous for. Huge and tasty! 6) Carne Asada - The skirt steak is cooked to perfection and very tender. 7) Our boys really enjoy the regular enchiladas. To me, they are a little too cheesy but, like everything else, it's a matter of preference.

best restaurant in Monument! love their variations on classic mexican dishes. Margaritas (and even other bar concoctions...lemon drop) are great! bring your appetite, but it all works well as leftovers, too. friendly, courteous, and fun staff. patio room is perfect, even if the weather is iffy.

OK, I judge my Mexican restaurants based on the quality of their chips and salsa. I didn't realize this til I visited La Casa Fiesta. B. had gotten tired of my perusal of the miniature shop on the next street and wandered over for a drink. I followed him when I was finished and found him in the rather dark bar. We discussed staying for dinner, and as we looked at the menu I sampled the two salsas in front of us. Ugh! One tasted like warm, old, bland marinara sauce. The other was nastily hot in a "you can feel the burn but not actually taste anything" sort of way. It was so disappointing I decided I'd rather make the 2+ hour drive home and eat leftovers than try anything else here. The salsa just seemed to promise unpleasant stomach issues later. The staff was very friendly.

This place is unbelievable. Locally owned business. Prices you cannot beat on tex-mex. They don't have reservations but they do have call ahead seating. Specifically the fajitas are amazing (big enough for two women to split) and the spinach and mushroom enchiladas are amazing. Free bottomless chips and salsas. Try the prickly pear margarita--awesome!

I was actually really impressed with La Casa Fiesta. First and foremost, the margaritas are really good. They have several ways of making them and Wife and I both got the Silverado and they were quite good. We are margarita snobs and don't drink them if they contain sweet & sour. La Casa Fiesta's don't have sweet & sour and are pretty darn good. My understanding is that the house maragarita is larger than the special ones, but only because there's more "other stuff." Having lived in Texas, we are particular about our mexican food from soup to nuts. La Casa Fiest's guacamole is passable and was better after we salted it and squeezed some more limes on it. They have two salsas, but the spicy is pretty weak. It's tasty, but not spicy to me. The mild was too mild for us and we hardly touched it. It would be perfect for my mother who thinks salmon is too flavorful. Wife and I both ordered New Mexican style enchiladas "Christmas" style. She got chicken and I got spinach & mushroom. We both agreed that mine were better. They were packed with spinach. We also both agreed that we will get the spinach enchiladas with the red sauce when we return. We sat on the patio and, despite some gusty winds, it was a great atmosphere. I'm eager to go when it's cooler outside to see the fire pit up and running. We will certainly be going back and I expect to explore more of the menu. While it is nothing like what we grew to love in Texas, it is the closest we have come across so far. If nothing else, it's worth going for a solid margarita (or two).

We have family in town and always stop in here at least once per visit. The food and service is always consistently good every time, beginning with complimentary chips and a bowl each if mild and spicy salsa. It's quite charming in terms of decor, or you can ask to sit in the "garage" surrounded by glassed garage doors that are often opened to let the fresh air stream in. Great choices to try are the fajitas, chile colorado, carnitas or any of their large Mexican-style salads.

I have been going to La Casa Fiesta for as long as I can remember. Their food has always been good...simple and delicious. Even better, they're reasonably priced. Try their margaritas...they're the best on Front Street! Restaurant is clean, service is always quick...especially when you sit in the bar. Love it!

We spend our summers in and around the Monument/Palmer Lake area and love trying all the different restaurants. I believe that La Casa Fiesta is one of the best Mexican places in town. The house margies are great and we do enjoy the chips and hot salsa. We typically order bean dip or guac to go with the salsa. Makes for a nice combo. We ate outside this week and love their garden area of trees and flowers. Unfortunately close to us was a rather large and noisy birthday party going on. I know, we should of asked to be moved but we didn't ....we just suffered through the noise. It was Taco Tuesday, and if you don't know this you might miss it. We had to ask our server of any specials and it was almost like she was reluctant to tell us that the tacos were just $1.50 on Tuesdays. Same thing happened in the bar a few weeks ago....if a gentlemen that was leaving as we arrived didn't tell us about Taco Tuesday we wouldn't have known as the bartender did not offer this info to us either. Anyway, we all had tacos and we were all happy with them. I do prefer the ground beef as it has much more flavor than the chicken or carnitas. We have eaten here several times and will continue as it is just a fun atmosphere with upbeat servers, good food and that sense of a small town eatery doing good!

When we have to meet in the middle from Castle Rock and Colorado Springs this is our spot. The service is totally hit and miss. Sometimes good sometimes bad. I went last night and ordered the fajita salad. Loved it. Great size and nice toppings with sour cream and guacamole. LOVE that they have a HOT salsa on the table for chips. Once mild and one HOT with diced jalepanos hot! Love that they have a patio too. Parking can be tough. The time before I got the green chili and I really do not get theirs. It isn't even green. It seems like regular chili to me. Very bizarre and very disappointing. One of my friend's had the Aztec salad and loved that too. So it is an a-ok spot to meet.

Went here for dinner tonight (1/6/11) with my sister, my aunt and uncle. Went in tonight and had a very short wait for a table for four. It's a little dark but it's fine. It was actually pretty busy in the dining room, outside, it was empty because the heaters weren't turned on. Chips and salsa came out - red, blue and white chips along with a spicy salsa, which was decent, and a yucky mild salsa that tastes simply like canned tomatoes. I ordered the spicy chicken salad with the corn and beans on the side, because the corn comes as a relish along with peppers and tomatoes. It came in a tortilla shell bowl with salsa ranch but the chicken was a fried patty sauteed in buffalo sauce - yummy, but not really Mexican. I didn't eat the shell and added some limes to my salad. It also comes with fresh, not pickled, jalapeno slices, which were very hot. My sister had the Mexican chicken salad and it was served with pulled grilled chicken. I thought it tasted okay. My aunt and uncle split the chicken fajitas. They looked pretty good. The service was decent and the food was decent, so yeah, A-Ok. 3 stars.

Really nice outdoor porch. Had lunch there today. We had the new Mexico enchiladas. Plays were hour throughout the whole meal. Not necessarily a good thing. Meal was tasty, server was friendly and informative. We would go again if we were in monument.

After 5 visits, each time getting better, La Casa Fiesta has officially become our "go-to" Mexican place in the Monument area. It's nowhere near to be as good as our all-time favorite "El Taquito #2" in Hayward, CA (best. carnitas. ever!), but, for the area, we agreed that this place is as good as it gets. My go-to dish is their enchilada combo, spicy beef and cheese onion. For me this is a safe tasty dish that can rarely go wrong. The spicy salsa is also pretty addictive, although I do wish they offer the thinner tortilla chips instead of the corn chips that taste like the store bought ones. We'll still be regulars, since we have found some dishes that can somewhat satisfy our Mexican food cravings. But the search for a good, authentic Mexican restaurant in Colorado Spring will still continue.

As a long time resident of Monument I can attest to the high number of cars in the parking lot nightly. There is something that draws people in but I am not sure what it is. The service is genuinely good but the food is OK at best. Mostly because there is very little spice to liven it up. Kind of bland and usually lots of cheese. The two salsa they have run from hot to cold. One is really like tomato sauce with no spice, the other has ground up Jalapenos in it and it can be really hot at times, but again, very little spice. Everything extra comes with a price. Whole beans over refrieds are an up-charge. Some tortillas on the side, also an up charge and they are not made fresh. The margaritas are passable but look for happy hour if you go. They have outside seating which in the summer is nice, and they have a gas fire pit which adds interest along with space heaters for chilly nights. Sadly if you want a better Margarita check out Sr Manuels on Nevada (really kick butt) or Pueblo Viejo for much better food AND margaritas. No up-charges and will tailor your meal to whatever you want. Most of the wait staff is actually Hispanic. Nice touch! Stay if you have to, but there are better options.

Incredible building in an underserved area, with beautiful building, al fresco dining, also. Very nice. Just passable food. Everything my group had was pre-fabricated, from the tacos to the burrito, to the chile relleno. Beef was finely ground and was just out of place - food very much like a low end chain. Nice and attentive wait staff.

Went here for lunch, and I really liked the fajita salad. The pulled chicken was tender and had great seasoning and there was so many toppings on the salad I didn't even need the dressing. My partner got the spicy chicken salad, and they were willing to substitute the pulled chicken for the fried chicken, and he said it was also very good. LOVED their sopapillas! Our server was very attentive and did a great job even though the restaurant was really busy.

Not sure how you could rate the food below four stars. I travel weekly and eat at excellent restaurants all over the west. This is excellent Mexican food. Five of us went. Five great meals. Carnitas were amazing. Guacamole was some of the best that I have ever had. The only negative was while eating outside, they allowed smokers to sit right next to us and smoke. Bad form.

My wife and I were staying in Monument, Co for a few days, we decided to go to La Casa Fiesta. The restaurant was picked from a list given to me on my smart phone. Lucky for us, this was some of the best Mexican food we have had in a long time. The prices were reasonable and the ambiance on the patio was great. We both had the #5. Chicken Enchilada, Beef Taco and Chile Relleno. It was all great and washed down with a very well made Margarita. So if you happen to be traveling past Monument, and wanting a place to eat, this would be a good bet.

They have a sign on the highway that leads you down a dark, deserted road. Don't despair, they do exist. The parking lot is equally dark, and I wasn't sure if we were at the right place. It was also packed. And the street. And the surrounding streets. Granted, this is a small town and it was Friday night, but I took this as a good sign since they do have a Taco Bell in town. We went in expecting a wait, got seated immediately. A bit too much football on TV, but I guess people like football for some reason. Our waitress was friendly, if a little forgetful, but no big deal. My kiddo had a quesadilla, as usual, and I checked it for quality, pretty good! The mild salsa was blah, but it's supposed to be. The hot salsa was excellent, wish I could get it bottled. I had some kinda sante fe enchiladas with green sauce. The sauce will confuse you, as it isn't green. It tastes and smells green, but it's not. Very tasty. Next time I'll ask for it 1/2 n 1/2 with the white sauce which sounded very good. $20 later and we were on the road again. I drive past here on the way to see mama, and I'll be back again, thanks party house!

There certainly is better Mexican food in Colorado Springs. Service is 4/5 Atmosphere with the nice bar and also outside seating in the patio area are great. 5/5 Food 3/5. This place is hit or miss with their dishes. Girls in my family all love the Aztec salad which has a ton of lean chicken on it with a spicy ranch. I usually get fajitas which are pretty hard to mess up or the chili verde burrito which is good but not anything to rave about. I do like that they have black beans to substitute for refried. Lots of their dishes though, seem cheap and definitely have the "slop" factor. One of their salsas is great, the other tastes like tomato paste out of a can. Overall, if you live up north and crave Mexican food then go here, if not check out Senior Manuels on Nevada, Pueblo Viejo on Academy, or CHIPOTLE!.

Was visiting Colorado. Took my cousin out to dinner here. She was raving about their fried ice cream. Greeted by the hostess and was seated immediately. The server was very nice. We had the salsa and guacamole. Both were very fresh and delicious. I liked the spicy salsa, it had a good kick. My cousin had the fajitas which was pretty good. I ordered a fish burrito with the sauce on top. Let's just say, my dish tasted like salty mush. I was not happy with it at all. There was no flavor but salt. I decided to forgo finishing it and order dessert. The fried ice cream was good. The serving size looks small but it was very filling. Nice experience but have learned to order what someone has tried there first.

I really enjoy going here. A nice patio area, good food, good atmosphere. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for Mexican food that doesn't want to drive into town.

Very good Mexican good. Nice atmosphere. Good service. Most of their food was a bit spicy, which for me is great but my wife doesn't like spice. She thought the ground beef was too spicy to eat both tacos. I had the beef enchiladas New Mexico style (which is basically like Mexican lasagna). It was very good. I couldn't eat the whole thing. I thought their lunch prices were a bit steep for lunch specials. Good overall experience.

I have dined here a number of times and except for the margaritas, it is unremarkable. Ambiance is good on the outdoor patio when warm or the garage section. Service is generally quick but the food is generally bland. Up charge for whole beans over refried. My recommendation is to go for the happy hour, then go somewhere else to dine.

First of all, I have to agree with whoever raved about this not being a chain restaurant and being family owned. It's unique and I appreciate that. Great location, and I imagine that during the summer, their patio and firepit are amazing. Really good beer selection. Two types of salsa--one that has not much taste at all, and one that is freakishly hot. I don't mind spicy, but this stuff was too much for me. I'd like something in between. I got one of the combos: a tamale, chile relleno, and taco. They were all okay. I didn't care for the red sauce. I will say that I liked that everything was messy. I hate when I go to a Mexican restaurant and everything looks nice and neat. La Casa Fiesta's plates were just one big pile of beans, rice, cheese, and whatever you ordered. Good. I think I sat with my party for three hours, so it's clearly a comfortable restaurant. Not a bad place to eat in the Front Range area... I'll try it again.

Every time I drive by La Casa FIesta I see it packed with cars, and since I hadn't been there in a couple of years I decided to give it another try. I'm upgrading my rating because I didn't get sick. Service was fine. I like the decor. The weather wasn't nice enough for me to eat on the patio, but normally that would be a huge plus. My problem with La Casa FIesta is the food just isn't that good. The claim that it is authentic New Mexican rather than Mexican would have left me feeling really bad for people living in New Mexico, except that I know better from eating there. You can get Blue Corn Tortillas at La Casa Fiesta, for an extra charge. And they do have stacked enchiladas. But I just found their chili tasteless. The rest of the food was bland as well. This is the kind of place I'd go to sit outside and have drinks with friends, but I wouldn't eat here.

My family and I drive almost 40 minutes to get here because we love the food and the atmosphere. Sometimes the service is too quick though. We enjoy sitting and enjoying our drinks and appetizers but the dinner comes out too quick. We have started to order drinks and apps and then order dinner after we are done. This helps slow down the meal a little. Other than that...one of our favorite places to eat around the Springs.

The atmosphere of this place is eclectic and one of a kind. It's got a huge fireplace in the middle that really adds to the ambiance. The food is great. Worth going there , and definitely one of the best places to eat in Monument! Casual, great for kids, and reasonably priced. Will become one of our favs!.......oh and coming from Los Angeles, where real mexican food is, I've been hard up to find a place with good real mexican, and this is the best beans I've found in CO so far.

I've eaten here several times over the past few years while visiting friends in Monument. It's never my idea to go here, though, because the food and service are both really hit-or-miss. It's the kind of place where it seems like there's always some problem, whether it's bad service, bad food, the wrong food, etc. To start with, there's a lot of variation in the food quality. On a visit last year, I ordered the pork carnitas burrito because my friend who lives in Monument swears by it. I was shocked when I bet into mine, though, because the pulled pork was full of pieces of fat. I guess the chef got tired of pulling the pork and just threw the whole thing in there. My friend got the same thing and said his was fine. On that visit I also ordered a margarita that was supposed to be made with fresh lime juice and asked them to please not make it too sweet. Despite my request, it came out tasting like a bowl of sugar water. I complained to the waitress and she said "I'm sorry to hear you don't like it". I don't consider myself a picky diner by any means, but with a $8-10 drink I think it would be reasonable to take the customer's requests into account. On my visit last week, my friend and I were joking and smiling when we walked in. The hostess was apparently having a bad day -- instead of a smile, she gave us a dirty look and led us to a table right outside the kitchen entrance. The restaurant was about 80% empty, but she wanted us to sit where you could hear pots and pans clanging a few feet away. My friend, who likes this restaurant, asked immediately if we could be moved somewhere else. After letting out a deep sigh and looking around the empty room, she led us to a table right by the entrance to the covered patio and asked us in annoyed tone if this would be OK. It wasn't a great table either, since it's a very high-traffic area. But we decided it was good enough. After the hostess left, my friend wondered aloud why they don't just let you pick a table when it's empty like that. The chips and salsa came quickly. The pico de gallo was tasty and the chips were OK, but the mild salsa tasted like canned tomatoes and was one of the worst I've ever had. We had plenty of time to evaluate the salsas, because the waitress didn't take our order for about 10 minutes. While taking our order, she seemed to be spacey and forgetful -- I had to repeat my order twice. The food came in about 2 minutes after that, surprisingly. But as I was chewing my first bites of the chimichanga, I realized I'd been given chicken rather than ground beef. This was a problem, because I'm allergic to chicken. I told the waitress and then watched her head towards the kitchen. Instead of going in the kitchen to talk to the chef, she just punched a new order into the monitor near the entrance. So I don't think it would be jumping to conclusions to say that she'd punched it in wrong the first time. In the end, she was mildly apologetic and gave me the dish for free instead of just applying the 50% off coupon I'd brought. So I saved a few bucks there, but was underwhelmed by the whole experience. This is the only sit-down Mexican place in Monument, so I really hope that they clean up their act.

My favorite restaurant ever. I don't live in CO anymore, but when I come back to visit, I have to come here at least 2 or 3 times. Its the best! Absolutely the best New Mexico-Style chicken enchiladas, REAL green chile sauce, chile rellanos, fried ice cream, sopapillas, the hot salsa with the red & blue chips...everything is fantastic, really!

Ambiance: This is the best thing this restaurant has going for it. Great outdoor patio, that is especially nice on a warm summer day or evening. Inside is also nicely decorated and a great "Mexican" feel to it. Service: I tried this place on two occasions within two months of each other. The first time, we arrived at lunch, in which the restaurant was moderately busy (still quite a few empty tables). We were promptly seated outside, given chips and salsa, and menus, indicating waitress would be right with us. After over fifteen minutes (no exaggeration), the waitress had walked by our table numerous times, never acknowledged us, never took drink order, nor water. I went up to the hostess and asked how much longer, and she said she will let our waitress know we are ready for our order to be taken. Another ten minutes go by, the waitress, walks by our table numerous times, does not even look at us or say something like "will be right with you". So, after 25 minutes, we got up and left, but not before I let the staff know why I am leaving. The hostess defends the waitress saying she is quite aware we are there and is busy (she only has five tables, so she wasn't that busy), and will get to us when she can. No "I'm sorry" or anything from the hostess -- tries to make us out for the "bad guys". As we were leaving, I banged on the back kitchen door, and got the manager, I told him the whole situation, and he never said he was sorry, or I hope you come back or anything. Just listened to what I had to say, then said "I hope you have a nice day". So fast forward a little over a month later (thinking maybe this whole experience was a "one off". I return, this time eating inside. At least this time I was served promptly. (actually food came within two minutes of ordering, which is usually a bad sign of a cafeteria-style operation in the kitchen.). Waitress was a complete ditz, with no personality and a very limited vocabulary (looked like a disheveled waitress that should be working in a sleazy truck stop). "Please" and "thank you" were not in her limited vocabulary apparently. It really puts me off when a wait person simply delivers your food and doesn't utter a single word. Food: Decent chips served with a way-too-mild salsa, and a chunky nicely spiced salsa. Food is poor. Ground beef (not shredded) is the standard served in the beef dishes. Little flavor, very similar to the ground beef served at Del Taco. Chili Relleano was so mild, I could not taste any chili flavor whatsoever. Overall, I gave this place two tries. One of the worst Mexican joints in El Paso County. Stay away!

Not a chain restaurant and locally owned - huge kudos for that! This place is great for large groups or enjoying a margarita on the patio. The food is tex-mex and good sized portions. If you want authentic mexican, go to mexico. This is where you'll find the locals who want good and reliable service.

This place is quite possibly the best restaurant in Monument, for both food and atmosphere. The Mexican food is GREAT (the flavor on the chicken fajitas is unmatchable) the margaritas are even better (and I am very picky about my margaritas) and there is great seating inside AND out. It is my favorite place to go on a summer evening to sit outside with friends and enjoy a margarita or a bucket of beer. Ole!

I came here with my aunt while I was visiting Colorado this weekend. She loves this restaurant, especially sipping margaritas on their porch when the weather is warm. We stopped in for lunch, the place was pretty busy. I was excited to have Mexican food at a local place out west to see if the food was better and more authentic than the typical place in NY. I ordered tacos, and was excited to see that they offered carnitas as a filling. I chose soft tacos, and was excited when my tacos arrived with two corn tortillas each. Unfortunately, the carnitas weren't carnitas. It was smoked BBQ pork. I had seen a pulled pork sandwich on the menu, and I believe they just use the same meat for both the sandwich and the carnitas tacos. I was so disappointed. They had started off well with the tortillas. The toppings were also more typical tex-mex than what I'd expect on carnitas tacos. I had a huge pile of shredded cheese on my tacos, as well as lettuce and tomatoes. It would've tasted much better with just some queso blanco or some crema or even guacamole. All that being said, I enjoyed the chips and pico, and our waiter was extra friendly. My aunt liked her tacos just fine. I think I might just be spoiled by the taquerías in Sunset Park. If you want good service, basic tex-mex food, and good drinks, check this place out. If you want more authentic Mexican food, I'd look elsewhere.

Stopped while traveling back to ABQ, NM and it was a very nice find. Service was good and the food was excellent. Sat outside for lunch and had a great time. The only thing keeping me from the full 5 stars is the price, which seemed a little high. Otherwise, everything was great.

The only good thing about the place was the staff/service... they were very nice and the food was brought right away... too bad after that it went all downhill. I can see how certain people will like the place: the ambiance, and the "hole- in-the wall" feel almost screams 'Authentic Mexican Food'... But it is all misleading. And i know how hard it is to try and find good Mexican food in Colorado Springs, but this is not the place to look for it. Yes, there are going be to decent things on the menu.. you really can't mess up the taco salad but for the traditional things.. no good! I had the Carnitas. I'm not sure exactly how they cooked it... almost mesquite BBQ style.. what are they thinking!? Plus it was not tender enough. Beans were no good as well. I guess they figured with plenty of cheese on them you wouldn't be able to taste the "can" where they came from. I had a strawberry margarita with my dinner, which besides the staff, was the highlight of the dinner. To end it all, i had a sopaipa, thought tasty because of the honey, it could not lift my spirits with my substandard meal.

Living in Colorado Springs, we rarely have occasion to travel the long 15 miles north to Monument. So when my wife and I had to drive our 14 year old to a social function in Monument we "yelped" "mexican restaurant" on the old iphone, since we had an hour and a half or so to kill, and we both had an taste for mexican food. Up popped La Casa Fiesta, and a good thing it did. We had such an enjoyable dinner. The restaurant is in the heart of the quaint Monument downtown - right across from a park where an band was starting to play oldies from an outdoor amphitheater. The chips and salsa were fresh and flavorful. The margarita was delicious and the Corona super chilled and thirst quenching. The fajitas arrived sizzling and were perfectly cooked. The carnitas were superb. The carnitas came with a side dish called calabacitas, which I'd never had before but was so good, my wife tried to stab me a few times when I reached for a bite or two off her plate. We sat in the "garage" which was opened to a beautiful Colorado summer evening. The ambiance was excellent as was the service. Since we came in without high expectations, we left happy, satisfied and with plans to come back.

Great place for casual dining. The food is great, the service is fast - all while keeping the small town feel. I highly recommend La Casa Fiesta.

This is a good mexican restaurant. Nothing over the top but good solid food for a reasonable price. The patio is decent but the general ambiance inside is tacky.

Don't tell anyone how good this place is. Locals can't get in. Margaritas rock. Patio is beautiful.

Ole!

Standard Mexican American fare. Not great but not bad. Nice room and nice patio. Better food to be found at Tres Margaritas on the other side of I-25.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
