We went to the Millwood Junction Restaurant during our week long stay in Mancos. My aunt had been cooking for us, and while she is really a good cook, asking a ranch owner who slaughters her own turkey to cook for a vegetarian can be daunting. I just wanted some fries and a veggie burger, which is exactly what I got. :-) The salad bar was a bit of a disappointment, and the veggie burger, which was made of black beans and corn, seemed to collapse into itself. The fries were just ok, and the BBQ sauce was weird. However, I felt full when we left and appreciated the vegetarian options. Everyone else seemed very happy with their meals, and my sisters ate more than I'd seen in long time. The server was nice. The restaurant was a bit cramped, and the bathroom was tiny. Overall I was satisfied.

We decided to stop here after visiting Mesa verde national park. The place got decent reviews and is really one of only two options in town. Should have chosen the other one. First, the good things. The place is beautiful, which was part of the reason we decided to stay. We were welcomed and seated quickly. We ordered sandwiches all around. They took a little over an hour to get to us, not entirely sure why. Everyone around us, presumably locals based on the fact that all the waitresses in the place stopped to talk to them, received their food twice as fast. When the food arrived we were pretty much ignored from then on. My wife wanted ranch for her chicken sandwhich, but by the time the waitress decided to stop talking to the bartender she was already almost done. Food was average, the BBQ sandwich tasted like walmart roast beef with BBQ sauce on it. We'll try hamburger haven next time.

Excellent steak and potato dinner with mom. Full salad bar - selection of toppings is good. Service is friendly and personal. Dining inside - two sections, one in bar and a separate dining room. There is also outdoor seating on the patio.

I believe this is the only place in Mancos open for dinner after 8pm. I was a little wary of the fancy lobby and the specials board with prices in the teens, but after a steak sandwich, a beer, my sweetheart's all-she-can-eat salad bar, and a delicious triple-berry cobbler with fantastical home-made vanilla bean ice cream the bill came out to $31 Such a deal! You can eat on the porch or indoors. We ate on the porch and enjoyed the friendly local characters. A digression, if you will: I once drove the road from Ouray up to Silverton. It goes up and over a mountain pass, hairpin turns the whole way and a 15 MPH speed limit. I drove it at dusk with failing headlights in April, melting snow water running across the road to accentuate the avalanche-warning-no-stopping signs. My car was the only one I saw on that road in either direction and it was hands down the most sublimely beautiful driving experience I have ever had. Even as an Atheist, I felt that I could well be in God's back yard, and if It wanted to scoop me off the earthly plane well, it would have been easy. When I arrived in Silverton I slept soundly at the youth hostel there, and the next day in Pueblo my father agreed that when he drove it he too had found that same road as sublimely beautiful as I had. Well, the guy at the next table over had just recently driven that road and it had terrified him. Oh, and you have to pronounce Ouray as "you-ray."

We stopped here for lunch with friends after visiting Mesa Verde. The service was quick & friendly. The place has a full bar with entertainment & dancing some evenings. The ribs were fall off the bone tender with a tangy, not syrupy sauce. French fries were hand cut & delicious. A great find in a small town.

This place was recommended by our B&B hosts as the best in town. Took the family to dinner and we loved the experience. It was a slow winter night and the service was attentive and food good. Nice selection at reasonable prices including some different dishes which I always like to try. Great ambience in older building.

The locals just call it the Millwood and it is a small town gem. The food is delicious and inexpensive. The customer service is great from a local stand point, but when compared to the big city service many people passing through are used it, it may fall short. If you aren't too full after dinner you must try desert. All their deserts are handmade and delicious. The Robert Redford is the most delicious in my book. And it is worth telling your server ahead of time that you want one so that they can set it aside for you. It goes quick sometimes!

It seems to be the only gig in town for a nice sit down meal. The salad bar is ok, the beer and wine selection leaves something to be desired, but the Cajun prime rib was amazing. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food, they didn't mind when the kids ate a bit off our salad bar plates, and the ambiance was nice. We eat here whenever we are in town, and I don't think we've been disappointed yet. Service is friendly and average.

There was a nice, Colorado small town atmosphere. Rustic barn wood decor. The seafood buffet was decent for being so inland. The ribs were very moist and some of the best I've had. They did a good job of catering to our gluten free needs. We would come here again next time we pass through.

Ribs are the best around. Fried fish and chips are one of our favorites. BBQ beef sandwich is very good too. There is no permanent hostess and the waitress who comes to seat you always makes you wait until they set up a table????? Sometimes you have to try to get someone's attention to be seated. There is food service in the bar and you can walk in and sit there if you wish. But we enjoy specific food items as many dishes are too pricey for our price range. Small glasses for water and tea that always require multiple refills if they get around to it. They need bigger glasses or a carafe for the table for iced tea.

Beautiful patio... It was fun. You will get an eclectic feel for the town, and also get some good food. The wait was a bit long, but we were on vacation, so it was ok. Just have another beer... It'll be OK! :-)

We were headed back to Durango from a Sunday afternoon tour of Mesa Verde (and skipping lunch,) and I was starving. I was looking at restaurants in Durango (on Yelp of course :)) and this place popped up. ATMOSPHERE: The door is nearly impossible to find; they really need to put up a sign or something. Anyway, after we finally found our way in... The interior is very rustic and steakhouse-esque. There are two sides, bar side and dining side. The interior wasn't anything special or fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. SERVICE: As far as I could tell there was only two servers in the entire restaurant, so even though it was basically empty, I won't hold it against the restaurant side server that it took several minutes for her to seat us. She kept walking back and forth whistling, and as I was really hungry and grumpy, her nonchalance was a little bothersome. She was a fine waitress overall, however. FOOD: So I've always felt like the point of a salad bar was to be buffet like, meaning you can go back for multiple servings. Right? Apparently not. I ordered the salad bar with my meal and when I asked if I needed a new plate to go back she paused and then said, "well I guess you can go back. Sure." Why have a salad bar if you only want people to have one serving? I thought that was odd, but it was a fine salad bar. I ordered fettuccine alfredo and my husband ordered the special for the day, which was BBQ (chicken or ribs.) His ribs were okay, again not fabulous but certainly fine (are you sensing a theme?) I have to say, my pasta was surprisingly good. It really tasted like homemade sauce and not at all canned or powdered. So I was very pleased with my meal. With the exception of the specials, everything seemed pretty pricey for a small, middle of nowhere place, but I guess they can do what they want since they are the only restaurant in that city. In conclusion, everything was just fine except the fettuccine alfredo which was really good. I can't think of a situation in which I would be back there, but I would not go out of my way to eat here again. There was nothing wrong with it but nothing very special either. Pleasant enough experience, though.

Eh. Had the Mexican special, not very good. The chili rellno tasted like the fish, I presume because the also have fish and chips. So the oil it was fried in is fishy. The chicken in the enchilada was dry. Wish I would have had something else. Strikes me as a bar that decided to try and serve food.

This place is recommended in the Lonely Planet Guide, but I'm not sure why?! The food is fine and the drinks inexpensive, but the service was dodgy! We were told by the host to seat ourselves, yet no one acknowledged us for 10 mins until we approached the bar, whereupon a waitress who was eating her own dinner at the bar overheard that we were waiting and offered to come help us. The place is dark and dingy. Not a great experience.

This restaurant is in a tiny, tiny town called Mancos. It's near Mesa Verde National Park. We came by looking for food, and this was the most promising joint around, although I did see a diner that looked interesting, but we went here. It's a place where the locals come, the kind where the waitress sits with friends at the table and knows which drinks and foods to bring because they probably come in all the time. For sure this is a local eatery. We were welcomed and could sit outside or inside. They had an all you can eat seafood buffet going on for about $16 but we all three opted for an all you can eat salad bar. It wasn't the best salad buffet I've had, but I liked the options and it was healthier for me. Awesome macaroni salad! Beets. And there was also a meat soup for us. It was about $10 for all you could eat and I went twice and really packed it on. The ice tea was too strong and needed to be watered down. Good service. If you are in Mancos, it's worth coming.

Stopped in on our way to Durango from Meda Verde. Not too crowded. We were immediately seated by a VERY friendly waitress. Shortly after we places out order, the place became PACKED! My side salad came out super quick. Nothing fancy: greens, shredded carrots, black olives, onions, and tomatoes. I had the house dressing. No complaints. My chipotle BBQ chicken sandwich was just perfect. Juicy chicken breast, bacon, cheddar cheese, and a smokey-spicy Chipotle BBQ sauce. My husband had the fish n chips. He rated it a 9 out of 10. Lightly beer battered fish. Fresh cut fries. Our waitress constant stopped by to ask if we needed anything. Our water was refilled 3 times! We were thirsty! Bill was $19.99 for the 2 of us. Not bad! Recommend as a stop!
