Well I love their beer, and I love riding my bike over there on a warm evening and sitting outside. They have a large garage door and opening it makes the whole place feel like you are sitting on a patio. Stopped by Tuesday night this week to have a beer and the garage door was closed. It was a wonderful 80 degree evening. I asked the bartender if he could open the door and he said he couldn't because he would get too hot while he was working. I ended up leaving and went somewhere I could sit outside. I'll probably go back, but not before calling to find out about outdoor seating.

This place is great. Good, flavorful beers. Definitely a place to check out. Friendly service. Love the artwork on the labels. You can buy copies on posters or shirts. A must do place for any beer connoisseur.

Tried the flight. The Red Cap and Huntsman were okay but a little weak. Didn't enjoy the beers as much other breweries.

Very unique brew and gaming pub. The decor theme is Germanic and it rocks. I enjoyed the Dragon Slayer which is a German Amber with a smoky / oaky taste. We played a cool board game -- there are many you can choose from, and enjoyed food truck pizza that was super tasty and reasonable. The pub has a drink and snack list also which is also unique and reasonably priced. It was hard to find, in an industrial park area but there was good parking that way. Definitely recommended.

Green brothers is my favorite brewhouse in all of Loveland they have a wide variety of beers all German recipe based it reminds you of the good old days when I was on active duty station in Germany drinking the heavy beers! The people are great the seating is expanded there's a lot more room they have great bands and visiting vendors for food. excellent, I couldn't be happier every time I go!

As the history of beer goes, German style ales and lagers have been around far longer than most of what you'll find on the craft beer landscape now. Within the last couple decades, Americans have been constantly redefining the concept of beer and pushing the envelope to create new beer categories and styles in the BJCP guidelines (an American institution BTW). This rapid advancement of change and innovation drowns out the once popular and traditional styles that have previously enjoyed their uncontested dominance. With the creation of Grimm Brothers Brewing a few short years ago, the front range of Colorado, we received a wake up call to invoke our attention to the beauty of the German style beers. Back in 1516, German authorities wrote up the beer purity law, or "Reinheitsgebot". This prevented the clever and devious brewer of that time from putting dangerous and psychotropic ingredients into the beer they made. They clearly stated that only water, malt, hops and yeast could be used to create beer; anything else was forbidden. Now, however being almost 500 years later, brewers treat ingredients in beer the same way a chef does in their kitchen. Traditional German brewers were skilled craftsmen that while limited in their ingredient inventory, created amazing beers! Ergo, the appreciation for these beers is not forgotten. We have Grimm Brothers to thank for bringing the beauty of this beer style back into our lives and really showing the depth and variety that exists within that style! Albeit, they might not always adhere to the beer purity law, I would argue that such a myopic approach to brewing would be an injustice to the level of progress and knowledge that has been gained since 1516. The specific beers they have on tap encompass the most popular and some lesser known styles found within the German beer category. Their Snow Drop is remarkably refreshing and light - perfect for a day of summer relaxation. Their Fearless Youth is a smooth and toasty lager that would pair very well with anything BBQ. Little Red cap is another crisp and clean tasting beer that has a slight caramel hint to it. Their other beers are all excellent examples of their respective styles! While I would find myself enjoying American style ales far more frequently than the beer they brew, I cannot deny the approbation they deserve. They have earned a special place in our collective heart and I hope to see their success in the years to come. Cheers!

Awesome service, tasty selection of German beers for all tastes, good strong brews, fair prices, great environment, free wifi....did I mention how awesome the servers were? Overall, a great experience and one of my favorite microbrews. I am from denver and their microbrew locations but will stop here every time I go to Loveland or past Loveland. Worth a stop.

Love the theme, love the beers, open but homey decor works well. It's like the adult version of the Disney fairy tales. I'll be back!!

  • Damien S.

They used to be a favorite of mine, but their selection has grown stale. They have a decent tap room, and they still have some good beers, but they don't experiment as much as the other breweries in Loveland.

I couldn't have been more surprised to walk into this place! It seriously looks like a dentist's office from the outside. Inside there was a nice mix of tattooed hipsters, mild-mannered beer geeks and old women knitting. (Think I'm kidding? Nope.) We tried all of their beers, and I liked them, but everything was too bitter for me except the Griffin -- their unfiltered Weizen. I don't mind hoppy flavor, but I don't like a bitter aftertaste. I did enjoy the Griffin, though. Bonus: get some of their local cheese curds. A great snack for absorbing some of the alcohol!

My last stop on a recent brewery tour in the Loveland area landed me at Grimm Brothers, located in an industrial area off I-25 east of town. As this was my 4th brewery of the day I was going in a little buzzed up and ready for anything. I was very delighted with what I found. The inside was a dark atmosphere adorned with fairytale artwork of their various bottles going along with the Grimm Brother theme. Very cool stuff! As I typically get IPA's if I don't have a sampler I was surprised that they didn't have any on tap, but nonetheless I was happy with The Fearless Youth, a Dunkel Lager that was very tasty indeed. My lady had the honey wheat which was also very good. Overall I enjoyed the beers and the space, however, I for some reason was left longing for more. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something is missing at this brewery. Possibly I need a little more airiness that is typically felt in a more open tap rooms? Not sure what my problem is, but regardless they definitely have good beers and I recommend anyone to hit them up if you're looking for a good brew.

Little red Is one of the best micro craft brews I've ever enjoyed! The only thing I think is better then the taste is the graphic design work! A must try

  • Rebeca R.

Supercool brewery experience! Love the digital beer display behind the bar! It is a big ole flat screen that rotates with descriptors of the beers. There is some obvious artwork in their labels and design which is super great! There was even a lady with her paints doing a piece inspired by the beer art on the wall! Sweet! Plus the cutest little girl came up to the girl in our group and asked if she wanted to color, how nice! The beers were tasty too! I enjoyed all that I tried. The service was lovely and the vibe was cool. I would definitely check this place out on a beer tour or try their beers if you see em on the liquor store shelf.

This is a great brewery, and the decor had me smiling. I love the creativity of the naming of the beers, and it's nice to have some German ales as a theme for a change. Master Thief and Riding Hood red were my favorite here, but I also really liked the Pils, which is not something that too many people get right, in my opinion. The art for the beers is great, it really makes them stand out from other places. Hopefully I can find this in Denver! Cheers!

  • Holly G.

Stopped in here a few months ago because I kept hearing so much about it. The hubs and I split a tasting flight. I don't remember exactly which one I liked the most, but it was alright, not my favorite. A cool spot to stop at if you are in this neck of the woods though! Overall thought: their graphic design is more memorable than the beer.

Can't wait to go back! Great place with a nice selection of German style beers. The bartender was very helpful in my selection! Came in for a beer and left with a growler !

GBs is great. They were the first microbrewery to really take off in Loveland and now have their beers on tap all over Northern Colorado. They are unique in that they have so many German style beers and they do them very very well. The taproom is cool and the location is somewhere that it's never packed with people. This is the first brewery I take anyone from out of town to and it never disappoints.

awsome place, great atmosphere,no cookie cutter beers here...every beer in the lineup is exceptional...love this place

This place was awesome! This was stop 2 and I was so happy. The guys/girls behind the counter were funny and I loved the names of their beers. I tried a couple (I can't for the life of me remeber which ones though) and then settled on The Griffin. The Griffin is a Hefeweizen and what I liked most about it was the slight hint of banana flavor. I know that sounds weird but trust me on this one it was really good. This was a great spot and I hope that I get the chance to come back - or find a place in town that sells this yummyness in a bottle!

  • Corissa B.

Loved the service we just received here! The bartender was not going to let us leave the bar without exactly the right beverage in our hands. She let us sample a few different things and I really love that in a brewery!!

One of my Fort Collins friends recommended that we should stop at a new brewery out of Loveland on my way back to Denver. How could I say no? Hello Grimm Brothers! As with many of my favorite brew houses, Grimm Brothers can be found a few miles off of I-25 in an industrial area. Trust me, this nearly always bodes well. We arrived early on a Friday afternoon, evidently before the crowds rushed in, which gave me time to sum up the space: Wide open tap room with friendly servers; plenty of tables and chairs inside; a garage door that opens to a small patio; and awesome artwork to advertise the name of their brews, which as you'd expect, are all named after Grimms' fairy tales. Normally when I visit a brewery for the first time I like to try a flight of their brews which obviously gives you the best idea of what it's serving. But since I'd just come from Equinox and still needed to head back down to Denver, I opted to try just one. And lately I've been in the mood for lighter beers due to the spring weather, so I ordered their Heffeweizen. It was very delicious and flavorful! I also stole a few sips of my friend's beers as well. Everything was fantastic. And to supplement our beer, we ordered a bag of Cozy Cow cheese curds. Yes, you heard me right Wisconsinites of Colorado, cheese curds! This made me immensely happy and immediately garnered Grimm Brothers bonus points. Although I didn't get the full palate experience that I generally go for, I had a blast at Grimm Brothers. I sampled a few beers, met the owners and brewers, and chatted with the amazingly friendly locals. I can tell you this, my beer drinking friends, I'll be making the trek back up to Loveland soon and hanging out here for an afternoon. I shall live happily ever after, thank you, Grimm Brothers!

  • Christopher B.

The tasting room is small and plain and doesn't exude too much character but the people working there take care of that. Everyone is super cool but they also know the beers inside out. I got a great lesson on a number of beers and all of them were really good, even ones I normally don't drink. If I lived closer I'd probably come by with a growler from time-to-time but I also think I'd just hang out for good conversation over a good beer!

  • N J.

Good beer, nice people, ugly industrial complex. Grimm Brothers tap house is located in a remote industrial strip mall (for lack of a better term) that leaves much to be desired. The tap room itself is basically four walls with a cement floor - seriously lacking in atmosphere. Still, the beer and the staff make up for it. We really enjoyed the Master Thief and a seasonal barley wine whose name is escaping me... The staff were very nice and quite forthcoming when my home-brewer husband started asking all sorts of brewing-industry questions.

  • Doug Y.

Really nice folks doing some good beer. I am partial to beers that lean towards the full-flavored side of the spectrum, usually the hoppier and stronger the better. For my tastes I liked the Griffin Hefe and felt it met the "full-flavored" criteria rather nicely with a nice amount of fruit and a clean citrus finish. The Little Red Cap was decent too.

  • Jeff J.

I'm a big craft beer fan, and Grimm Brothers does it just right. Their mainstays are delicious enough, but my true love of them comes from their seasonal brews. Beer made with passion and craftsmanship, combined with a knowledgeable and friendly staff. The owners are often there, pouring and talking beer with the patrons. Some have made a stink about their location and decor, but I guess it's never bothered me. It's clean, comfortable, and they have a circulating set of local art on the walls. But what keeps me coming back is still the beer and fellowship. Just try it, but only if you plan on coming back often.

Really enjoyed this place. The beer is great and the environment was nice.

I love this place! The hours of operation typically run from early afternoon (1pm) to not-so-late in the evening (8-9pm). Its off the beaten path located in a business suite parking lot. It was like a party in the parking lot when I rolled up for the first time. I got a great first impression of a microbrewery when I saw their front door was a roll up garage door. Dedicated to their craft Grimm Brothers Brewhouse is unique German brews loosely based on the fairy tales from the German academic Brothers Grimm. I'm a huge fan of their 'Snow Drop' honey wheat ale. Now on NITRO it's sure to be a crowd pleaser. One of the best I've ever had. And contrary to Germans drinking their beer warm this one is best served ice cold. Probably my favorite microbrew 'haus' in Loveland.

  • Mo D.

Great little niche micro brewery with fantastic beer. The social scene continues to develop as they have expanded seating and added an outdoor patio. Little Red Cap is my favorite beer but the problem with this place is there are so many great beers the choice is very hard. Try them all. Not much in food service except the occasional street cart and pretzels so eat before you go and hope to catch some local talent entertaining. This place can be a lot of fun when the right crowd and entertainment show up together. Its the kind of place you can be yourself, enjoy your friends, entertain and be entertained. This is an absolutely must stop on any northern Colorado brewery tour.

Great brew pub! There was a BBQ sandwhich guy in the parking lot, and lots of tasty brews on tap. Grimm brothers has great graphics on their beers. They sell tshirts and posters. The staff was very friendly. I can't believe how many breweries are in CO. So awesome. Order the cheese curds and explore your way through their seasonal ales. Don't fall off your bar stool!

  • Sean M.

Fun place, awesome beers! Grimm brothers has a variety of good beers. I think what I like the best about them is that none of their beers are watered down or made to appeal to the mass tastes. These are well brewed beers with character in each sip. Staff is friendly. Events are fun. I'd highly recommend this stop whether you are visiting or are a local!

  • Eric R.

A solid offering of both traditional German and experimental beers. I've never had a bad beer from these guys. The tasty room is pleasant enough, but it does get crowded and loud. The barkeeps are usually friendly and helpful. The bonus is both a nitro and cask tap, which always provides for something different.

  • Albertro F.

Tried the seasonal flight set, and the Bearskin Dry Stout was the belle o' the ball. The Brett Bock was also tasty in that I'd never had that style. Bier de (garde) Grimm fell flat. Mind may change after the tour! Lovely, short tour and super friendly staff. I brought some bottles back to Indiana. Cheers!

I am a lover of German Bier. So when I saw there was a German micro that just opened up, I was in. *note, my tasting group went here after Oskar Blues. So it took a while to cleanse our palates after drinking Ten Fidy @ Oskar. Nevertheless, Grimm Bros is cranking out some nice German brews. Talking to a German woman, her favorite was the Pils. It got ze German's seal of approval (mine too) = good. Not many places are doing a Dunkel Weizen, so I was glad to give that a go. And I was not disappointed. We took tasting trays. The Schwarz bier was my fave. It's as good as anything I've had in ze Fatherland. The space itself is tiny. But it's a newly opened micro with a nice little tasting room and brewery. The first reviewer describes it as quaint, it is that indeed.

  • Alden C.

The taproom has moved to the west of the old location and is much bigger and more able to receive thirsty beer drinkers. They have also some new regular beers now like The Griffin and the Farmer's Daughter. The Griffin is a Hefe and the best one I have tasted to date! The Farmer's Daughter though did not look like it was available on tap on my visit here. I also had their Three Golden Hairs Ale which also was good!

  • Logan M.

I come here at least once a week. Delicious beer, friendly staff, and a friendly crowd make this a great place to have a pint. I have talked with many first-time visitors working their way through a tasting of their five permanent beers and the only complaint is usually the beers being "safe". Grimm Brothers does German-style beers, which are not a particularly bold bunch. The hop profile (Magnum and Hellertauer are usually featured) is very mild but yields a suite of very drinkable beers. If you are looking for hop bombs look elsewhere, but if you want a smooth, tasty pint served with a smile, this is a great place to spend an afternoon or evening.

  • Groovy M.

Grimm Brothers Brewhouse is my second favoriest brewery ever. My first choice is Dry Dock. The beer is top notch and this place is going to be huge in a few years. A good selection of beers which are all better than expected. The tap room is on the smaller side, but I'm not even sure if this place is a year old yet - if so, it's just a year old. Don't worry, they'll move in to a bigger area once word gets out a bit more. I know this has nothing to do with beer, but the art work on the bottles and in the tap room is tiptop to say the least. No detail has been overlooked. Keep it going guys. If you are in area, or even close stop by and give them a try. Pro: Great beer Con: small tap room? I feel lame even posting this under con because is a tap room.

  • Aaron O.

The Tap Room at the Grimm Brothers Brewhouse is a great place tucked away in an industrial park that is worth the trip to find them. They will always have their main line beers on tap, but always check the website to see what specialties they are pouring as well. Worthwhile to make the drive from anywhere to stop in and say hello. They do trivia on Monday nights, it fills up quick and the setting is not really the best for it. But they do pack the house to play.

Very very good beers. I was beer impressed with there samplers. Very robust flavorful beers. There is a beer for every person. From light to dark, they have something to dance on your taste buds. Tell your friends... Loveland finally has a great brewery.

  • Katy S.

I love Grimm Brothers! All of their beer is great and everyone that works there is always willing to help you find the perfect beer for you! Eric is great, he could sit there and talk to you all day about the different kinds of beers! I enjoy listening to how everything is different and how they differ from across the world! If you ever get the chance, take the time to go into the brewery for a beer!

SO MUCH FUN! Gee I sure review a lot of breweries for not being a big beer drinker. Says something for the time I spend with my BF :) This place was really fun, and super chill. For a beer I dont think I have had much better then their Little Red. It tasted so fresh and didnt have a bitter after tasted at all. My BF ordered the flight of taster and seemed to like all of them too. The tasting room was the best part though. You could tell everyone was having fun and enjoying their brew. There wasnt an empty seat in the house. Way to go Loveland! You finally scored something cool

This is a nice, small brewery. When we came, the place was hopping (or maybe it just appeared that way since the taproom is very very small). We were given A LOT of beer in our flights (9 total 2 oz tasters). This is the place to come if you like dark beers like Porters and Stouts. Every beer is made from strict German brewing recipes. I actually really enjoyed one of their seasonal beers called Riffraff (if I remember the actual beer type it was Dunkelweisen, but I am not sure). The staff was very friendly. We had an amateur brewer in our group and he was invited to a meeting with a group of local brewers for tasting and tips/advice. They were quick with stories and descriptions of the beer (although we were pretty sure one gentleman was making stuff up). If the tap room is filled, they do have extra seating in the garage/brewing area next door. The labels and artwork on their beer are top notch, so if you are into beer merch, this is the place!

  • Michael N.

Terrific tap room. The fairy-tale artwork is breathtaking - love the artist's take on the characters. Great beer selection. They had something for everyone in our group. Their Brett Bock is one of the best i've had lately (and I drink a lot of beer...). You gotta like sours to like it, but if you do you'll be in heaven. I wish it had been a little less busy so we could have talked to the staff a bit more, but what can you expect for a Friday night ?

  • Tiger M.

This is a cool little brewery. We had a hard time finding it. I didn't mind the beer. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it also wasn't the worst. The art that they do for each of their beers is amazing. The workers are really nice as well.

I have to give them a perfect score, because I am not a beer person at all, but the combination of delicious beers, friendly staff, a variety of food trucks that visit them and fun things like trivia and open mic night, makes this one of my favorite hang outs in loveland.

    (5)
  • Jamie K.

This place is awesome! They give out a free flight of tasters for your enjoyment and I love that they are fairy tale themed! Definitely see why their beer is a gold winner at GABF!

What a great craft beer company here in Loveland, CO. Grimm Brothers is not only a great local craft brewery (which is growing fast), but it is a wonderful addition to the landscape in the community. Not only the great beers, but the community that is being built around Grimm Brothers Brewhouse. I personally love the all that goes on here. The local musicians, the people and the super beers. If you are looking for a stop before going to Rocky Mountain National park, or even doing Colorado beer tours, Grimm Brothers is a must stop. I will back back many times :-)

  • Bonnie C.

This is a brewery that opened up July 24, 2010 in the Anasazi Business Park. They have a tasting room only, which is like a cute little pub. The beers are delicious but some are "heavy hitters" so taste them or have a pint there but bring home a growler if you want more. (And you will!)

    (5)
  • Paul M.

Great. I love Master Thief. That may just be the best beer I have ever had. I love the artwork and the people in the tap room (Eric rocks). I watch their facebook page to see what they put out every Friday in their Fabled Friday special release. Grimm Brothers is the best place to visit in Loveland. The beer is amazing.

Very small brewery, very little seating. their beers are named after fairy tales, I was hoping that they would have had more. beers were OK, nothing special and i would say not worth the drive.
