I've never had anything bad from here and we've been coming here since it opened years and years ago. Favorites include sesame chicken, fried rice, Mongolian chicken and beef, curry chicken, and egg drop/wonton soup. GREAT lunch deals-rice, wonton, soup, egg roll, and entree for little more than $6. Be mindful that they're closed on Mondays.

It is as good as it get compare to any $1 scoop places. The place is small it's flocked with surrounding workers during lunch hours. I ordered the combo chow mein with fried rice. The chow mein ( crunchy cereal chips ) with frozen everything mix and fried. The shrimp, chicken, and beef taste like it should. Fried rice was just. No vegetables added or onions. It was good food, I enjoyed it but it sure bit my wallet some. $7.50 for the lunch special and that is a fair price. It's very good if your ignorant and haven't had any of the fabulous $1 scoop places surrounding Denver

Chef King is really tasty and really affordable. I was reluctant to try it (it's kind of unassuming and most of their business seems to be take out bc the space is small) but after a recommendation from a friend, I'm glad I did! The lunch special come out to just over $7 after tax and includes a ton of food. Soup, cream cheese wonton & spring roll plus your choice of a pile of white or fried rice I've tried it a few times and everything I've had was tasty but their sesame chicken and sesame tofu are awesome! So crispy (even leftover) and really saucy, just delicious. Veggies seemed really fresh in stir-frys we've tried. I'd even give it four and a half stars if I could bc I've never had much to complain about. Try it out- great value and yummy food

Food is sub par at best. If your looking for over battered CHEAP (quality wise) American Chinese food, this is your place. Everything I've had here has been over fried grease lacking any flavor, I don't understand how this place has a 4 star rating.

On 10/15/14, we ordered fried wings as an appetizer. He ordered the sesame chicken, and I had the Mongolian trio. I liked the wings and would order them again, hubby said they were "ok." The Mongolian shrimp was great, the beef was ok, and I did not enjoy the chicken. The sesame chicken has a unique sauce, with some sweetness and honey that we weren't expecting. Perfect the first day, but the texture of the leftovers was not nearly as good. Just something to keep in mind. This place has good, freshly prepared food, and we ate there a second and possibly third time before we moved away from the area.

I had a takeout from this place.Terrible food, I ordered 2 different meals and they both looked eksactly the same, after a second bite I threw entire box away and wanted to bring it back to them for a refund! Meat was all with chunks of fat on it and wasn't processed well. It was the most disgusting Chinese food I ever had, I think a $1.50 a scoop place does a better job than them. Waste of money, never going back there again!

It was suggested I give Chef King a try by a friend of mine after I complained that it seemed like all Chinese food places around here served the exact same food, which I suspect is bought frozen. I've all but stopped trying Chinese food places around here as the bar is pretty low, ok it's very low. I was pretty happy. The General Tso's chicken, while not great was actually pretty good. The beef broccoli had meat that actually tasted like beef and wasn't some grey/white color that I've become used to seeing. This is now my go-to chinese food joint.

Having read other posters, I expected more. All of the food was soggy and tasted as though it had sat in oil. It doesn't help that they were extremely slow. When I called in my order they said it would be 20 min. I showed up in 25 and waited an additional 10 min in the store for someone to talk to acknowledge my presence (there were only 2 of us in the tiny restaurant, and the other person was sitting at a table waiting on their food as well). I understand the Chinese food isn't the healthiest choice and I know it will have oil, but this was just beyond disgusting and flavorless. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered: Pork Fried Rice: bland, the pork was chewy, the rice had a coating of oil on it Crab Cheese Wontons: limp, oily, stuffed with too much cream cheese and a speck of crab. Here you expect it to be fried, but not dripping with oil. It had no crispness what so ever. Teriyaki Beef on Stick: rubbery and oily, barley seasoned Wonton Soup: watered down Lo Mein, chicken: This was decent. The noodles were a bit oily but not as bad as the rice. It was on the bland side though. The chicken in it was subpar and the overall seasoning on this was bland. So disappointing. I will never try this place again. If you are considering this place, drive the 5 minutes more to pick up at Double Happy.

We've been looking for the best Chinese food in Louisville and I'm pretty sure this is it! Everything we ordered was delicious: Hot and Sour Soup, Veggie Chow Fun, Sesame Tofu, Bean Curd in Brown Sauce, and Fried Rice. Don't let the exterior (and, okay, the interior) scare you away. Get your food to go, then take it home and binge watch some Netflix.

Just found this wonderful Chinese take out place and love it! I had the mongolian beef, and sesame chicken and they were both excellent. The satay beef was ok, it was bit spicy and salty for me. Food here is made hot and fresh while you wait about 15 mins, which is well worth the wait. There's a lot of beef/pork/seafood options to try so I look forward to coming back. The reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because this place did not have any menu panels or visuals for you to look at once you're inside. The food menu is on a regular take out sheet and I have a proclivity to look at my food options before ordering. I will def be back tho!

Classic Chinese takeout. Large portions, moderate prices, descent food. The sesame chicken was way over-fried - don't get it. Try the vegetable dishes - shrimp and vegetables, chicken and vegetables, etc. takes credit cards. Takeout only.

After seeing all the positive reviews for this place, I had to try it. I ordered the sesame chicken and crab wontons. Not very impressed, it's only ok. The sauce comes with the crunchy noodles (which I love) but the chicken is stringy and questionable. The crab wontons were delicious though. It's about what you could get from the fast food court at the mall, but more expensive. Sad, still have yet to find a chinese food restaurant in the Louisville area that serves good sesame chicken. The best I have ever tasted is The Tea Garden in Arvada.

I can't believe the reviews here. We tried this place and found the food just downright horrible. It's overpriced as well. The egg rolls are okay but nothing special. Crab cheese fried wontons are good. The foil wrapped chicken was inedible. The chicken texture was like slime and the food was so over loaded with soy that you would need to be a deep sea bass to be able to handle the saltiness. The orange flavored beef was like a hollow shell of what was once some sort of meat. It was orange flavor. That was about the only thing going for it. The chicken curry was bland in flavor and hot in heat. The texture of the chicken reminded my wife and I of road kill. Our children found the special friend rice inoffensive. All in all not worth the $48 we paused for it.

Anyone from New England and feel like you can't find ANY good chinese places like home? This place has chicken fingers!!!!!!!! They're pretty good take out. Don't expect something extravagant, but definitely worth going if you want some take out.

This is my all time favorite Chinese takeout!!! Pork with Garlic Sauce is my favorite. You can't beat the lunch specials - soup, eggroll, wonton, 2 scoops of rice, and huge serving of whatever you choose for a main course all for around $6. It easily serves 2 people. Service is quick. We can call it in and by the time we get there it is waiting for us. They have a few tables but it really is just a takeout place.

For lunch, this is the place to go. 7 bucks and you get a FULL meal. The food is pretty good too! Only 3 stars since there's not much of an environment there. Definately a must try for lunch for everyone. Cheap, LOTS of food, and they taste good. =D

Great food! I go here for the Mongolian Beef. Always great. I think the egg rolls are generic, store bought, but still ok.I tried the Seafood Soup for 2 last night. It was more like Baby Corn soup. Krab with a K, and maybe only 3 small shrimp. Will not order that one again. But I love their Mongolian Beef!

5 stars for the Sesame Chicken... It's got that special combination of crunchy, sweet, spicy, chewy.. right down to the sauce in the bottom of the styro take-out tray. I always get the lunch special (before 4:30 only weekdays I think). It comes with an egg roll, wonton, and soup. I have not found a better place for sesame chicken the way I like it - and I have been looking ever since I started going to Chef King about 10 years ago.

Love this place. Nearly everything I've tried over the past few years has been delicious. They're affordable too. This is my go-to spot for Chinese take out in the Louisville area.

For the price, this is probably the best Chinese take-out food around Boulder County. Yes, it's Americanized Chinese food, but I still really enjoy it even though I'm Chinese. Their hot & sour soup is actually hot and sour. Lunch is around $6-7, and you get soup, fired wonton, and an egg roll in addition to your entree. The entrees I order the most are chicken egg foo young, Mongolian beef, beef with green pepper, and the fried rice. The lunch portions are huge; I usually split it into two meals. Since lunch is such a good deal here, I never go for dinner.

So we're in Suburban Hell? So what? You think we can't get good, no, make-that-awesome chinese carry-out? Oh ye of little faith. I am laughing... ha ha ha! This little joint is smack-dab in a strip mall, lonely with out-of-business vendors ( for sale! for sale! sings in abundance!) Okay. Whatever. The lesson, mes amies- jamais judge a book by its cover. CK? So good. So flava-flavourful! Portions? Ginormous- still eating off the delectable sesame chicken as I write. It's STILL crispy and .spicy. So much so, that I think I might finish this puppy off and skip the Thin Mints... Girl Scout Cookie season.

Friendly service and a great deal for lunch! We have been regulars at this place for some time now. They even know my name on sight! Food is good and freshly cooked when ordered. Only complaint I would have is that the spice level is not always the same from one order to the next. (I kind of figure it has to do with different people cooking.) We have tried other Chinese in the area and for the price, it is the best it gets here.

Great food for a great price! I very much wish I could get food from Chef King more often but it's quite far from where I live. Other than that, it's GREAT! =)

These guys do good greasy Chinese food. They also deliver, which is nice in the Louisvill/Lafayette area. I've had nothing but good experiences.

Not necessarily authentic Chinese food but it's tasty! We have a very standard order: hot and sour soup, vegetable delight w/tofu, and mongolian chicken. We always make two meals out of this for 3 of us. Their lunch deals are pretty good, too. It's inexpensive for the amount of food you get. Closed on Mondays and on Christmas Day, too :-D

Sesame chicken was outstanding!!! From the time I placed my order until I was out the door was under 15 minutes. Food is always great!!!

Okay, tried them for lunch this time. I ordered sweet & sour shrimp. Granted I had just had dental work done, but even without that the pieces of shrimp are so big you have to cut into them to eat it. I didn't get enough sauce (which is separate) for all those shrimp, and the batter was REALLY thick, not overcooked but almost. Soup was the same, rice was the same, egg roll was YUMMY, and I still had to pay for crispy noodles. This time they almost gave me a Pepsi instead of my noodles. I will be back, just not for S&S shrimp.

Best Chinese is Lafayette/Louisville Area! Sesame Chicken is my favorite! Low prices. (Avoid MSG buy asking for other options.)

Went here to pick up dinner tonight and ordered the Mongolian Beef with fried rice and 2 egg rolls. The lady behind the counter was polite and attentive. My order was ready in less than 10 min and I was out the door. Very small and limited seating area, only about 5-6 tables. The Mongolian Beef was tasty and there was an ample amount of beef which seems to be lacking in other restaurants of this type that I've tried. The egg rolls were still hot when I got home and were crispy good. Big portions, I'm a fairly big eater and I could only finish half. Would recommend for a fast cheap plentiful meal that although is not the best I've had it is still was pretty good.

A six dollar lunch special with sides? Yes please! Chef King is awesome. It isn't fancy, but rating it lower for atmosphere seems wrong to me. It's a take out joint. The fact that it has seating at all is a miracle! I generally do the chicken and snow peas lunch special. You can get it with crab cheese wontons or egg rolls or one of each. Soup is also included- egg drop, hot and sour or wonton. YUM! Tons of options and the food is incredible! I used to eat here at least one day a week when I worked in this area and still grab lunch on days off when I can. Be aware, they're closed on Mondays.

Cheap great chinese food- one dinner entree is enough to feed 2-3 people!

So we went here based on the fantastic reviews. Puhleaase. This is yet another greasy tasteless chinese place in CO. I am starting to think people from CO have no idea what good chinese food is supposed to taste like. It was also hot in there on an already hot day. Apparently the A/C doesn't work very well. We will not be going back. I had the Beef Lo Mein lunch special, she had the Beef & Broccoli. Lo mein was super greasy, the egg rolls weren't almost black they were so over fried. The cheese wontons were soaked in grease. The fried rice was bland and flavorless.

Though I really like Tu Lein's downtown and I feel like I am cheating on them right now, I happen to really like this place as well. Really I am not an adventurous person when it comes to Chinese food, so I always stick with my favorite Sesame Chicken. Now especially in California that can be hit or miss, but at this place... it is a HIT! They are one of the only places I have ever seen that pan fries (or maybe it's a wok) the chicken, which gives it this slightly crunchy texture. Ohhh... yummy! Plus this guy has pictures all over his restaurant with people like Bill Owens, now there is the entire reason to go there... he's met Bill Owens! While I don't particularly like Bill Owens that much, I can respect anyone who blows up a picture of themselves shaking hands with a politician and places it in plain view of all their patrons. A+

I have been going to Chef King for over five years and it is one of the best Chinese takeout places that I have ever had. I lived in Chicago for a long time and this tops all small family owned and operated places there. I recommend it for the food, prices, the portions (lasts several meals) and the quality of the service (speed and friendliness). Anyone else who says differently is in the wrong!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
