This is a small house close to the post office in Longmont. Parking is across the street or farther north also on the street. As the name should imply, the place serves authentic Greek food. The menu is fairly small with Souvlaki, Falafel Sandwich, Mediterranean, Spanakopeta, and a Traditional Greek Salad. Desserts are Baklava and Bougatsa. I had a Lamb Souvlaki (kabob). It contained chunks of lamb on a warm pita with tomato, onion, and Tsatsiki sauce. In general it was ok. The sauce was pretty good and the lamb ok. I also had the Baklava. In general it was also pretty good. I've had Baklava at Falafel King in Boulder with a crispy top and a bit of honey sauce. This wasn't quite that good (I crunched up a little clove and spit a bit of cap out; it must be home made :) ). The portion was moderately sized. I could have easily eaten two of the kabobs if I hadn't eaten the Baklava. This is not a restaurant. You either call it in or order and wait to take it home. They also don't take credit cards. Cash or Checks only. I do want to try it again since I do like Greek food. But now I want a Gyro :)

I'm not sure what all these bad reviews are about. The truck's generator is a little loud which I found slightly intimidating but there was definitely a sink and the staff were wearing gloves contrary to what another review had me believing beforehand. I ordered the falafel which takes a little while longer than most things because it's fried but was still done pretty quickly. It was tasty and I will absolutely visit them again next time I see the truck. The owner seemed a little daunted by her iPhone credit card reader though so save yourself some trouble and bring cash if you're in a hurry.

I worked for the Giggling Greek but I had to quit because it was absolutely disgusting. The woman running the truck leaves the meat out in the open in the front seat of her car. She rarely washes the supplies she cooks/preps with. For example: she took out a crusty, hummus covered spoon, handed it to me and said "I think we used this yesterday or the day before, just use it for the falafels today!" Oh and that black stuff on the chicken and lamb? it's not a nice char, it's built up grease from the basket she fries them up in. I worked with her for over a month and she never cleaned it once (when I got there it was pretty disgusting too so who knows how long that's really be going on for). She does not date ANY of the food. That means no one knows exactly how long that baklava, bougatsa or spanakopita has been sitting in the fridge. Uhm. Ew. But that's not the worst, my friends. This woman never washes her hands. How can she? There is no running water or even a bottle of hand sanitizer inside the food truck. She goes from digging in the dirt, to plugging in wires, to using cleaning supplies to touching your food. Yes, YOUR food. With her bare hands. I have never once seen this woman use a pair of gloves. She uses tongs (sometimes) but ALWAYS touches your food to make sure it's warm. She is such a sweet little Greek lady but oh my goodness, it is absolutely filthy. If you MUST try the truck, order a falafel. It's made from a delicious dry mix and since it's fried, she's less eager to put her fingers all over it. Stay away from everything else, even desserts (freshness not guaranteed). Save yourself some salmonella (or worse) and skip the Giggling Greek - trust me.

My friends and I found Giggling Greek at the Festival in Prospect, a little community in Longmont, CO. The stuffed tomatoes were good. Some of the chicken was half done in the chicken souvlaki, the spanakopita was mushy and the baklava was nasty as it did not have much taste and was like eating mush,

Finally got to the Giggling Greek (and my 2 star rating may have as much to do with my frustration trying to get there as anything else.) I had to rely on serendipity and my appetite; I've been trying to get there for about a month, but most of the time the place looks closed, and she seems to do street festivals, but there is no schedule that I could find. Twice I passed her open just after having a meal, so that was no good. This time was the case as well, I had just ordered a meal at Noodles (next review) in Longmont when my hubby spied the Greek at a Borders sale. We dashed off to Boulder to do our business and stopped by the Giggling Greek on the way back. I know, we just ate, but lucky for my Greeky luck, I was really hungry. We knew we wanted Lamb Souvlaki, and Falafels, but no luck on the Falafels, something about no flame that day. My husbands Lamb was fairly tasty, as much as I could tell by one bite (hummmph!) he didn't want to share, but there wasn't much lamb. My Gyro wasn't anymore generous with the meat. In fact, when looking at it before my first bite, there was just ONE piece of thinly sliced gyros meat showing. Too bad, because it was really flavorful. I must say that the tzatziki sauce seemed to get better with each bite. Is it because of Greek style yogurt? The pitas on both sandwiches were soft and fresh, but I like a tiny bit of browned crust on mine. I would love to try her Moussaka dinner to take home, but with my luck and her schedule, it will probably be very far into my future.

I saw the ad for this restaurant in the local Longmont magazine and thought, hallelujah! Greek food! I was quite surprised to see that this was not a restaurant at all, but someones home and they have their tiny enclosed porch set up as a pick up station/warming area. I ordered the spanakopita. It was about an inch tall and 5 inches square; smaller than I'm accustomed to. There was not too much filling and it was dried out like it had been sitting around a while. It tasted okay but I didn't notice any feta cheese ;-( This was suppose to be dinner, but I had to get something substantial an hour later. No, I won't be going back.
