Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Amazing tortilleria and some legit authentic Mexican grocery store items too. Makes me feel like I'm back in California...

Best tortillas in town, $2 a dozen - can't be beat! Get there early in the morning for the bunuelos (sugar donuts) They also, have a small Mexican market, but it's all about the delicious tortillas. There is a tortilleria closer to me, but I go to Las Americas whenever I can!

Best corn and flour tortillas I've had outside of Mexico. And no, I'm not just a tourist that's only been to Mexico. I've had fresh tortillas in 4-5 countries, and all over the southwest. I know there a few great ones in El Paso, Phoenix, Tucson, Yuma, and all around the LA/Diego area, but this has by far been the best. And in a dry/high elevation area, to boot. Great selection of Mexican candies, cleaning products, snacks, and: -mild/med/hot salsa -re-fried beans (fresh) -canned goods (chili's, etc) and a large assortment of fairly priced goods. You want to eat on the cheap for a few days and still enjoy your meals? Get tortillas, Beans, salsa, and some cheese- that will cost you about $7 and you can make 20 burritos. Good Burritos. Yeah.

These guys have the best fresh tortillas in town - corn, flour, and even whole wheat. Keep in mind that unlike the mass-produced tortillas sitting on the grocery store shelves, they are so fresh and preservative-free that they don't keep for very long before getting moldy. That's only happened to us once though because the bag got shoved to the back of the bread box and they sat around for a week - usually they get devoured in the first 48 hours! It's worth going out of your way to pick up a bag of these tortillas, and they are very reasonably priced.

The best in Colorado, I dare say the best I've ever eaten, and I grew up in So Cal surrounded by Mexican mama's. I order their delicious masa every year near Christmas to make my own tamales for the family, but love that when I get a craving for those yummy treats I can head over to Las Americas for some at a great price. They really are the best. Fresh tortillas are eaten warm from the bag in the car because the kids can't wait to eat them until we get home...they're that good. Not mention I can buy my spices, cream filled churros, and Pan Dulce here all for a great price. Don't pass this place up, it's outstanding.

I just love this place more and more as time goes on. I recently tried their tamales ($6 for 6 of 'em) and think they're pretty damn good. The people who run the shop are always really friendly, and I appreciate that they sell a variety of other items, like cheese, baked goods, some veggies, etc.

I'm quite critical of all things Mexican food since I'm from Southern California, but this place knows tortillas!! My husband picked up about a dozen fresh flour tortillas on his way home from work. I think it was only $2-3. OMG! Fresh, homemade tortillas!! Sooooo good. I could have eaten all of them in about 5 minutes. I will definitely have a hard time running to the store to get tortillas, when I can plan ahead and get some from Las Americas. I can't wait to get more!!

simply the best corn tortillas. made fresh, warm out of the oven goodness. Get one of each of their salsas while you are there, some chicharones. Oh, and the chips are the best you will ever have. I never knew tortilla chips could be so amazing!
