The food portion was really good, the taste was really pretty good, the temp was pretty hot, which is good. Our waitress which knows everyone, all the regulars, was on the ball. Our water never came even half full. She was on it, and real sweet and polite. We will be back.

I lived in San Francisco for several years. I left there 20 years ago. This is the best Chinese food I've had since leaving there. Well cooked. Wide choices. Large portions. Prices are low. The fried dumplings are made there and very good. Hot & Sour soup is excellent. Hunan Beef very tender. Moo Shu pork also great. I've tried several things on the menu and they are all super. It's the only Chinese place I go to now. At least once a week.

Food is "meh" and cleanliness is wanting.

In my book China Panda is: The best Chinese food in Northern Colorado. The best service at a restaurant in Northern Colorado. The fastest sit down restaurant in Northern Colorado. EAT HERE!!!

Oh WOW. That's all I have to say. Actually - there's more. My husband and I have travelled extensively throughout the US and I, being a Chinese Restaurant connoisseur, have somewhat high expectations. Moving to Boulder temporarily put a halt on enjoying great Chinese food. We've tried most (not all - we're getting there) Chinese restaurants in our town, and honestly - for the most part - we've been somewhat disappointed. I had almost resigned to save any Chinese food cravings for when we travelled out of state - not at all ideal. A last resort was China Panda in Longmont. (FREE) Pot of hot tea + mouthwatering (and so very hot) entrees, you know there was some love carefully crafted into our order. China Panda, you've made me a believer in good Chinese food in my area again. Thank you for not disappointing!

Gross! The food was sub par and the kitchen was incredibly slow today. But the worst part, I ate bugs. The soy sauce at our table was FULL of bugs. I found this out AFTER I had poured a big heaping helping into my spring roll and ate it. I had no appetite after that. I was disgusted. Then, the management or whoever it was that came to address the situation (she never did introduce herself) gave 15% off. Seriously? What a joke. I wonder what the health department would have done about the situation. She did nothing but make excuses as to why bugs would be in the soy sauce. The only positive note was the server and busser. They were quick with filling drinks and the server was horrified by the situation and apologized repeatedly. Unfortunately, I will never again visit this establishment and it would not surprise me if they are shut down by the health department.

Hot and sour soup is the what I am looking forward every time I go there. I ordered the kung pao with shrimp and came out really good. Had bad experience eating kung pao at other chinese restaurant because it was really that bad till I discover this place years ago. Sometimes I would order sesame chicken but had to gave up because it contain tons of sugar and deep fry. I plan to go there as often I can when I am in town.

I'm Asian and I think it's the best Chinese for 5 bucks in Denver! hot and sour soup is awesome and everything is good and the meat quality is great. Plus they always play secret garden music, bonus lol.

Food was good. Weird layout of the place but it was fun. They were slow for a Friday night but the phone was off the hook and they needed more servers. Overall very satisfied though. Will go back for sure.

Best Chinese in Longmont. and if you give this anything lower than a 4 it's probably because you've never had authentic Chinese outside of Colorado. Try the Mu Shu Chicken & the Broccoli Beef.. the Sweet & Sour Chicken was only so-so. The egg drop soup is good too, as are the spring rolls & crab rangoons!

Okay FINALLY had an opportunity to try this local place. Yelp only has one review but there are a bunch more on the web singing their praise. Let me first say eventhough I gave them only 3 stars I will go back. I just should have ordered different dishes. 1) I had both egg drop and wonton soups. They were both lacking in flavor, but wonton was better. 2) egg roll was satisfactory 3) garlic chicken was YUMMY. A lot of flavor in this dish. 4) sweet and sour combination was really bland. Would not order this again. I though they forgot about me because I sat there for quite awhile before my order was taken and I had to ask for water when my food came. Both meals were less than a total of $12. As I said, don't let this review scare you from trying it. I will be back!

Definitely my favorite Chinese place in town. It's a hole-in-the-wall, to be sure, but the owner couldn't be nicer and the food is always great. Chinese food is one place I'm hesitant to try at new places, but China Panda has always lived up to my standards. They're fast and reasonably priced and remember regulars. I can't think of a reason why I would ever go to another Chinese restaurant in town!

The only place in Longmont where I'll get chinese food. Their cooking is top-notch.

  • Ricky S.

It's American Chinese food. Anyway, it's still OK for me, a Chinese. We tried 5 entrees. All of them are tasty. Shrimp, beef, chicken. They are cooked by vegetable, source and chilies. Rice is served separately. We also tried dumpling soup and egg drop soup. Egg drop soup tastes better.

The China Panda is the best Chinese we've has in Longmont so far. On the plus side they have good eggs rolls and dumplings. I think their crab rangoon's are average. I've certainly had better. The Wor wonton soup is also very tasty and not overly salty like some restaurants tend to do. We had Kung Poa Triple Delight, General Tso's Chicken which were OK and a couple of other dishes that I don't remember, which really says it all: We order from here because we haven't found better.

If you are looking for fresh and authentic American Chinese food this is it. Hand rolled dumplings, sauces made from fresh ingredients, traditional dishes make this one of the best Chinese food joints in CO. Now the atmosphere is not so hot but the food is great. The best part is that they deliver!

OMG - Thank You!!! I read all of the reviews last night, and I knew that I would be in the area today. I am so glad that I went! I started with the Steamed Dumplings that are made fresh every day. Just about the best I have ever had. I almost ordered more ... but I still had my main meal to look forward to. I had my stand-by (I pick this for my first visits), Kung Poa Chicken. I almost cried it was so good. And then I got the bill, I could not believe how little it was. And the service was warm and friendly, with personal attention from the owner - Stephanie. I was skeptical, being from California .... no more. A+++ all the way. Looking forward to my next visit!

Date of visit: 8/16/11 after a rough day of work Time: about 7:00PM Location: Right on the corner of Main and 3rd (across from Dicken's Tavern) Parking: Either you have to park on Main St. (good luck) or go behind the building and park in the lot that is shared with the Elk's Lodge. We had to circle the block twice in our stalking of parking. When you walk in the front door head to your right past the odd assemblage of plants. You feel like you are in the lobby of an old apartment building. Size: The place is larger than you will intiially think it is, but shares the space with a few other businesses. They also have a lounge area with a pool table and some super soft leather couches. The kind where you could pass out in them and feel no shame. The place was dead. We were sat right up against a booth with two men. No one else in the entire restaurant. Minimal decorations -nothing fancy. Standard huge gold adorned fan and framed mats. Dinner: Cream cheese and crab wonton thingies (I forgot the name - enjoy my technical term) - really liked these and they were fresh. Be forewarend that the sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard were both oddly runny but were good. Ordered the mongolian beef and tempura vegetable dinners. Came with white rice.No soup offered. They do offer those combo dinners for $10 each for two people minimum. Tempura - I enjoyed the sauce that came with the tempura - sweet with some garlic. Portion for the tempura seemed like quite a bit. It was a mix of peppers, onion and pineapple chuncks mixed with zucchini slivers and broccoli florets. Nothing special. Mongolian beef - was nice and spicy with quite bit of green onions coupled with yellow onion slices. Our white rice came in its own container that we shared. Overall we enjoy this place out of most of the Chinese restaurants we have tried in Longmont. Restrooms: Try not to pass the "Necessary Ladies Room." I do not kid. This is what it says on the door and I enjoy it every time. Yes, yes a restroom is necessary. The restroom has two stalls. Take your pick between the stall closest to the sink with the bent door that doesn't close OR the other stall set back that closes but does not lock and has no lighting. I chose the latter. At least I could wedge it shut. I started having flash backs of stuffing toilet paper in the door to keep it closed (the most ingenious solution to a bathroom dilemma ever). I particularly enjoyed the silver duct tape wrapped around the hole that was missing the locking mechanism. It just screams, "Peek through me!" Not to be overlooked is the melange of graffity scrawled across the inside of the door. I personally enjoyed the "Merry X-mas." That is exactly where I also intially test out holiday tidings prior to settling on the perfect greeting card for the season. In their defense I believe this restroom is shared with the other businesses. Oh and there is also a beer can ad on the door for Oskar Blues if you feel so inclined to extend your night of drinking to another locale. Men's room is down a long hall that is technically not in the restaurant.

We love China Panda for their lunch specials. Great food, great price!

Wow, i guess they forgot how to cook on their extended vacation (they were closed for about a year), anyhow they have reformulated most recipes to almost taste exactly like the canned stuff you could buy at safeway. It is sad too, sorry Longmont, one more reason to drive to Denver.

Well, just moved to Longmont from San Diego...big difference but I love it here. We were in the mood for some Chinese so we checked this place out. Not bad at all but nothing to write home about. My son and his family liked it a lot but I'm pickier and it's hard to give this 4 stars because I've had much better. Perhaps it was the wrong dish? I'll try another dish next time we go. I ordered the Garlic Chicken and it wasn't bad but not enough chicken. Don't get me wrong; I like veggies but enough is enough. If you order Garlic Chicken you shouldn't have to look for it. The service was good and I had a margarita which was pretty good. They even have a pool table and a full bar in there but we didn't check it out. Bottom line; not many choices here so this is probably the best in Longmont. Good enough for a return and again, maybe just ordered the wrong dish.

Consistently great American Chinese food - my favorite in the area (I drive 1/2 hour for take out and it is completely worth it). The Hunan beef and fried wings are awesome. Excellent serving staff and an overall great place!

Since moving to Colorado it has been hard for me to find something that brings me back to the Chinese food goodness of the Northeast I grew up with. I was quite happy with china panda, it was quite the same, but it was much better than the most of the stuff around here. The Kung Pao was good, although not nearly as spicy as I would've liked. The other thing that is different, is what I would call a spring roll, is called an egg roll... I'm not sure that it is worth the drive from Boulder to Longmont, but if you are in the area and looking for some cook Chinese, China panda is a great spot.

The food was pretty decent, very Americanized but fresh and not a lot of preservatives that you typically run into. In my own opinion, when you come to a family style Chinese restaurant, like this one, you should expect to be there over an hour. So don't come here expecting in & out service, that's what take out is for. It's a dining, family experience and I really appreciate that. I will say that the layout, floor plan, in this very old building is...interesting. It was also the first time I've ever needed a key to use the Men's Room. It was good and worth the experience, but if someone asked where they should go out for "Chinese," I probably wouldn't say China Panda.

My family and I dined at China Panda a few nights ago and were generally pleased with the experience. We had 3 different entrées and the food was all EXCELLENT. Unfortunately, as good as the food was, the service was about that BAD. Our primary server didn't seem happy about having to be there and several times throughout the dinner we were left for extended periods of time in need of drink refills, etc. It definitely seemed as though they were short-staffed so we'll surely give them another try but if that problem turns out to be a recurring theme, they'll be left off our last of regular stops.

My wife and I have tried literally every Chinese food place in Longmont. This is the only one we return too, and often at that. The owner is friendly and always there, the food is served hot and spiced to taste. We're regulars for sure and when we can't make it in the delivery is prompt. I highly recommend the twice cooked pork, chicken and green beans and egg foo yung as three of my favorite dishes. Stop in you aren't likely to be disappointed.

This place sucked! First of all the food was not so fresh, and the service was terrible!!!!!!! The lady told me to calm down after she verbilly told me that she was not even listening.. And the containers were not even clean..

Everything here was great except for the weird smell in the building and needs to be updated. The food was good and the service was great. I would recommend visiting at least once and I would go back every once in a while!

I have eaten here several times in the 5 years I lived in this town. Today my husband and I dined with you, Saturday night at 6:30pm. Usually a busy time for places in this town. The server was a woman with red, blond and brown hair. She seemed to be in charge of some sorts. Between her and the teenager serving us we had the worst service I have had in 5 years. The food was below average for low end Chinese food. Unfortunately the server who was "in charge" was more interested in serving regulars than the strangers that were my husband and I. She had the table of 6 seated, and their appetizers and soup on the tabke before asking if our meals were ok, or refilling our drinks. As a person who used to wait tables for a living, I understand the business. When you have 3 tables and 2 servers, you should at lease keep the drinks full. This was disappointing and I hope they step it up. Don't know if I'll be back. Maybe next year.

Hands down the best Chinese food in Longmont. The sauces aren't too heavy and are very flavorful. Love the homemade eggrolls, done fresh every day! The owner is always working and she will come out and ask you how your meal was. Very friendly. Only downside is that they are understaffed and over worked. Also, since they are on Main St., you need to either park in the city lots or on Main. Well worth the visit and if you are still hesitating, try out their lunch as it is cheaper than dinner with both soup and an eggroll!

This is my go to place for Chinese in Longmont. If you are looking for authentic Chinese food this isn't the place for you. However, if you are looking for good "American" Chinese food then this place is great. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. The staff is friendly and helpful. The owner is wonderful and around a lot which I think keeps the quality high. It gets four stars from me simply because it isn't as nearly as good as the place I grew up going to in Detroit.

This is our favorite chinese restaurant at work. The food is great (also, MSG free) and the prices are pretty good. The lunch meal gets me about 5 meals.

China Panda is the best! This was the best Chinese food I've had in a very long time! I am a big fan of sweet & sour chicken but don't order it frequently because most places make the crust so thick that the cooked product is hard to cut and eat. China Panda makes their sweet & sour chicken with a very light breading and it was AWESOME!! You get a great value for your money too.. Huge portions at a very reasonable price! PS: get the salt & pepper chicken appetizer - it is amazing!!

This place is awesome. It is located in a very old hotel from the early 1900's so It has a creepy haunted vibe, vintage architecture, and beautiful old fixtures. But the food is wonderful! We ordered the orange chicken which was very good not too sweet. Mongolian beef that was delish! Chicken lo main that I could not stop eating! And bbq ribs that is probably the only thing I wasn't crazy about, they were ok the meat was nice and tender but the sauce just wasn't what I was expecting not a whole lot of flavor. I would defiantly recommend this place in fact I told my whole family they had to try it.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
