I eat here 4-5 times per year and I can say that the food keeps me coming back. The salad and bread compliment the food well and they have a nice selection of wine and beer. The service at this location has always been hit or miss. Sometimes like last night because they are busy but trying very hard and super nice and maybe a little understaffed or other times like our April visit when i witnessed some of the staff underperforming - time to lean=time to clean right? Good food for sure!

Neat restaurant with a really inviting decor. Ordered the spaghetti meatballs for lunch. You can bring a large group to this place. Great service and quite a good selection of Italian dishes. Bread is included with lunch. I am surprised that they don't offer a good selection of appetizers.

I've given Pasta Jay's a few more chances and I can honestly say it's gotten better every time. The service has improved and I'm a bit hooked on the baked pasta! The marinara sauce is one of the best I've had. Very delicious. It's a great date night place, leaving those stuffy chain restaurants in the dust. It's a must try...and may I recommend the baked spaghetti and the pasta noto with chicken. Yum!

Hoping for a relaxing and quiet dinner but turned out the staff was loud, joking and playing around with each other than taking care of the paying customers. Very unprofessional! Conversation among staff was voicing their complaints of management. Observed cook preparing food and eating at the Same time.... Yuck! I've rated at all of the pasta jays. I've noticed that this one is never busy and seems to be struggling... Hummmmm I wonder why?

What a great experience at Pasta Jays! We came in on an unexpectedly snowy April evening. What a great find for good quality comfort food. We originally had reservations at The Kitchen, but we weren't impressed with the treatment we received from the hostess and decided to cancel and leave. Luckily for us, we stumbled upon Jays. Being from out of town, we didn't know the area very well and made a bet. Thankfully, it paid off in spades. We were very kindly received by the hostess and seated immediately. We were informed the owner's son was celebrating his birthday at a large table near us and we were asked if that was okay since it may get "loud". We were so happy to be warm and seated and definitely didn't mind being seated near a birthday celebration! Natalia, our server, was awesome! She was kind, attentive, and great at what she does! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience with her. She was the one who pointed out Jay to us and let us know that he was the owner. She asked where we were from and upon letting her know we are from Southern California, she informed us Jay's uncle has a restaurant very close to where we live! We were happy to get a recommendation. We introduced ourselves to Jay and what a fantastic person!! Personable, kind, humble, and authentic. What a great introduction and a nice guy! He was very generous with filling our glasses with wine and made sure our food was perfect! He wouldn't let us eat until the lasagna was cooked just right. It was a stellar experience! Thank you to everyone at Jay's!!

Pasta Jays...first visit was a success! The Park Meadows area is filled with places to eat, but one place stuck out as we could smell the wonderful smell of garlic across the parking lot and our noses led us to Pasta Jays! We were seated right a way, the inside of the restaurant reminds me of old Italy and the waitress was wonderful! The portion size is huge, you really get your money worth, had enough for dinner and probably two more meals; all meals served with their yummy garlic bread. Great fun family restaurant would go back for sure! Only giving 4 stars because getting water, garlic bread and the check was a little slow.

We ate at Pasta Jays on a Saturday evening. The wait was long and we could see open tables all around. Once we were seated we were stuffed in a corner in a table that barely fit the bread basket. When our food came out, our disappointment grew. We are big fans of Pasta Jays in Boulder, which is why we decided to try this local option. In comparison, you would have thought they were two completely different restaurants. The pasta was overcooked and much greasier than the Boulder location. It was edible, but I don't think we will be returning. Just not a good experience overall...

Love this place! Lots of unique Italian dishes with nightly specials. My wife and I eat here at their bar during happy hour several times a month and always take our out of town guests here.

I have been going to Pasta Jay's in Boulder for years and have never been disappointed. After my first trip here I can say this location is just as good as Boulder. Heck, it is better in the fact there is free parking right by the front door. Anyway, let me suggest what I had tonight, the Jumbo Spicey Shells with the Spinach Salad beforehand. It was FANTASTIC!!!! Ignore the other reviews that gave Pasta Jay's anything less than 4-5 stars!

The first time I came I ordered the stuff chicken genovese. The best Italian dish I ever had. So I came back to try the chicken parmesan two days later and it was fried to death. It even had bored edges. I came back again and then had the pizza...it was good. Overall the food is great but one thing I hated was that they left the front door wide open and you have to shoo flys while your eating. Would get more stars if not for flys !!!

We first went to Pasta Jays for dinner with a groupon. It was busy, we waited a while and were eventually seated. We waited for 30 minutes and still no waiter/waitress. We got up and left. We didnt want to go back, but since we didnt want to waste the groupon we went back. We had great service the second time. The manager even comped our entire meal once we explained what happened last visit. Unfortunately, the food wasnt good. Im being polite here, the food was terrible. I feel so bad saying this too. Service and management was amazing. We went back for a third time (to use the groupon) and again, food was terrible. Maybe it is just not my taste?? Overall, services and atmosphere was great. Give it a try, you may like it. To each their own, right? As im writting this review my husband wants you all to know he liked the food and im just extremely picky. Fair statement.

Awesome place with unique pastas. The cream sauce is amazing and the service is fantastic. We had Jessica as our server and she was as sweet as they come.

RUDE RUDE RUDE! It all started when I went to pick up my to go order. Asked her to split the charges, she acted like it was the most inconvenient thing. Any question I asked she snapped back with a rude response. Come to find out she was the so called "manager", Suzy. We ordered the caprese salad that was $7 and chicken added to it that was $4. Total cost for salad $11. We open the salad and it has 4 lettuce leaves, 5 chicken strips, and is drenched in sauce. Not a salad what so ever. I went to return the "salad." Asked the manager if this was how the salad always is, she says yes in a frustrated tone. And just says "if you don't like it I'll just comp the meal, satisfied?" I was blown away at the lack of customer service. ESPECIALLY when she's supposed to be the manager. Never will return.

Service was good - food was delicious! Had pasta Lorenzo and pesto chicken tortellini. A bit on the pricey side for Italian in my option but definitely will be back!

Very cheap, huge portions. When i say huge, i had this thing for lunch, dinner, and breakfast the next day. Sauce tasted like it came from a can actually. Well, you get what you pay for. But all in all, not bad.

We had eaten here several times in the past. I got food poisoning from the chicken and stopped coming. It had been a while so we decided to give it another try. We had a party of 4 adults and four children. The service was horrible. The kids food came out and there was very little sauce with the spaghetti and meatballs and for the price the portions were very small. This is just the kids meals. The rest of the meals came out burned. One of our party's food was so burnt that she couldn't cut it so she asked for a new plate. The waitress was rude and rolled her eyes reluctantly taking the plate. We then ordered ice cream for the kids and that is the last we saw the waitress. Then when we left the only goodbye we got was from some girl mocking us. Small portions, skimpy on the sauce and rude service. The red headed bartender that said she was the manager when I went to complain acted as if we as the costumer were to blame and the icing was they added an 18% gratuity automatically (4 adults and 4 children only one out of a high chair hardly justifies an auto gratuity). Horrible

We really wanted to like this place. Let me just say that we will never be returning. We ordered a bottle of wine, a caprese salad and two entrees. The caprese salad contained four of the smallest (non-ripe) tomato slices I have ever seen. Seems they try to compensate by adding huge pieces of basil all over to mask the inadequacy of the rest of the plate. I ordered the chicken marsala. It came out sizzling hot and was so overcooked that the edges were burned completely black. It was so tough that I could not cut through anything except the very center (even that required a great deal of force). I have never had sauce like that on chicken marsala. It was so dark in color and the flavor was absolutely horrible. My boyfriend ordered one of their specials. He could barely eat it as he said it was extremely salty. We were there on a Monday (early evening). We were the only people in there so it wasn't like the kitchen was busy and made some mistakes. I'm not sure how anyone considers this place to have good REAL Italian food. After we left, we said maybe we should have just gotten the pizza. I'm not sure what they specialize in, but it sure isn't anything we were served. I have to say that the waitress removed my item from the bill and asked if I wanted something else (which I did not). Evidently there was no manager or anything. No one came over to us to discuss the issue.

Both Boulder and Lone Tree have excellent manicotti. That's really the only thing I ever order. Garlic bread is greasy, salads are decent, but the manicotti is sooooo worth it!!

My wife and I went to Pasta Jay's last night and used a Groupon. We were seated promptly although we were placed at a tiny table and the sun hit us both in the eyes. An investment in window shades would help. We did not wait more than a couple of minutes for the server to come over. She was courteous and explained the specials and answered any questions we had. My wife ordered the Chicken Marsala and I ordered the Fettucine Alfredo with grilled chicken. My wife says I am a connoisseur of Fettucine Alfredo. It IS all I usually order, I love the stuff. My wife did not care much for the marsala. It was breaded and she didn't like the breading. My Alfredo was cheesy but, had a strong buttery taste. The chicken was passible. Not the best Alfredo I've had. The garlic bread was good and hot although I noted on the menu that if you wanted more bread it would cost $3.00. After the server dropped off our food, she became scarce and we seldom saw her. We had to track her down to get refills on Coke. Will we go back? Probably not. Best Fettucine Alfredo I have found: Bacco Trattoria in SW Littleton off of S. Kipling and Angelina's in SW Littleton off of S. Wadsworth.

Food is really good. I've been a couple of times and I've never been disappointed in what i have ordered. My only complaint is both times i have been there is a young lady that works there that both times was dressed very inappropriately. The firsf time it wasn't even just me who noticed the table next to me had a couple who was shocked when she walked by, very very short skirt that I'm sure if you looked long enough you could have caught a show. The second time she was also there again and she had on very very sheer legging. Yikes. You could very plainly see her under roos. Maybe it was just the couple of times I've been there I've had the same coincidences but if i wanted to see a half dressed girl i would have gone to twin peaks.

Went for dinner tonight with my daughter. She had the fettuccine with Alfredo sauce, it was ok, I had the tortellini Alfredo dish and it was amazing! It came out bubbling hot and baked to perfection. The garlic bread was ok, but I will be back for the baked tortellini Alfredo!

We have been at Pasta Jays twice now but I want to talk about my latest experience tonight. I had my family of 6 go for dinner on Saturday night. We were told the wait would be 25 minutes but it took 50 minutes to get a table. Admittedly, the host did offer us water and bread as an apology but really not sufficient for the double wait times. Once we got seated, my wife ordered a Caprese Salad for an appetizer. Pasta Jays idea of a Caprese Salad is 4 leafs of lettuce, 4 tomatoes and 4 piece of mozzarella cheese for $7. It tastes fine but for what you get, it is a complete ripoff. I ordered Jays Jumbo Shells and all I got was three shells filled with ricotta cheese and spices for $11.50. The meal included 3 small pieces of bread and I was left still being hungry. My kids ordered three meals. My daughter's Spagetti was done in about 4 bites and it cost me $5 which was completely not worth it. They brought my son's dinner, it was his birthday, 10 minutes after we started eating which is complete unacceptable. We asked for a manager to discuss the wait time issue, Caprese salad lacking substance, my daughter's food only being 4 bites and I only getting 3 shells for dinner. The manager was rude but was willing to comp my kids meals which was appreciated after this awful experience. Needless to say, we will never come back to Pasta Jays. The food is expensive, the portion sizes are small, the service is slow and the staff is rude. Avoid using Groupon's at this restaurant because you will be given poor service once you show them the ticket. OVERALL, NOT WORTH IT. AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!

Everything tastes the same bland and in desperate need of seasoning. This place makes Fazoli's look good! When your paying $17 for a bowl of pasta it better be at least decent!!!

Such a great place! Have never had a bad experience here. The staff is always extremely friendly and social. It's definitely a family restaurant, it's always a little loud in there and it's a small place so tables are close together. On to the food, it is amazing! Best pasta ever, and large portions and makes a great second meal to take home. We had a few Groupons and it was such a steal. Will be coming back again and again! :)

Solid, rich tasting pasta, pizza, etc. Been going to Pasta Jays in Moab for years and excited to find one in the Denver area. We have always enjoyed their standard marinara sauce and variations. I am a huge fan of the baked rigatoni with meat sauce and usually ask them to kick it up a notch with some red pepper. Fantastic! They have some gluten free options, primarily a few pasta types and pizza crust. My kids love pesto, but not here - it has a bitter taste none of us prefer. Kids meal comes with a drink and a pasta dish for ~$5. Garlic bread for the table. Service is solid, not out of the ordinary, but gets the job done.

We went here for the September UYE DTC lunch club. I have been driving by this place for many years, but had never actually eaten here. Usually, I just feel guilty about parking in front of it so I can go to the nearby Starbucks. I did have occasion to sample their food at the Taste of Lone Tree (the best "Taste" event I have ever attended) and it was rather good. The interior space is very nice. It has checkered tablecloths, hardwood floors, brick, warm colors, and a large bar. The window/walls open accordion style to the patio, which is also nice. The service was really good this day. They were very attentive about water, drink refills, etc. They also were good about describing the food. The food itself was a bit of a mixed bag. Everyone in our group ordered a special that day. I had the green chile ravioli with tomato cream sauce, and I also tried the lasagna that someone else had. I did not try the stuffed Portobello mushroom on top of spaghetti. It looked good, if rather over-sauced. I started with the house salad with the house Italian dressing. The house Italian dressing is extremely creamy (almost like an aioli) and tasted like a hybrid of Italian and Caesar. It was very delicious and I polished off the extra with a piece of garlic bread. I really enjoyed the salad and the garlic bread was okay. This was a very good $3 salad. My ravioli came out looking like a small mud pot from Yellowstone Park, still bubbling and hinting at the furious forces below. It was screaming hot in temperature. The sauce to pasta ratio was a bit on the saucy side, but the flavors were good (if a little muted). I think a touch of protein (chicken, etc.) would have rounded out the dish. The lasagna was obviously re-heated from Wednesday. It was a bit scorched on the edges and not uniformly warm throughout (I was told). I am not a big restaurant lasagna fan (although I love homemade), but this seemed pretty good to me. For this dish, I thought the Ricotta to pasta ratio was too high. It was a very generous serving size. I only drank water, but one of my dining companions thought that his glass of house wine was significantly overpriced. I look forward to trying this place again in the future.

Service was good. Husband's pesto tortellini was fantastic. Wasn't impressed with meatball sandwich. Two meatballs swimming in marinara does not a sandwich make.

Food is fine. But service gas gotten really bad. They have new servers all the time , that obviously says something about the restaurant. There is a theme lately with the servers blonde hair & female..? Prices have gone up. They charge extra for bread & Sharing plates which they never did before. They do not tell you they charge extra so be careful.

A little surprised by some of these reviews. Just over the weekend ordered food to-go at the bar while having a drink with my friend. Service was superior, every waitress made a point to say hello while walking by serving others. Pizza was excellent, and my girlfriend's dish, cheese tortellone, was very good. And I thought prices were very reasonable, not cheap but not expensive either. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Is this really what suburbanites consider "good food?" Four of us arrived, waiting for one more couple. We decided to take a table since it was before the dinner rush. Ordered a small ($12) pizza with shrimp. Don't do it. Little rubber shrimp-like carcasses on a pizza that was chain quality. Then the other couple arrives, we order appetizers and a couple of bottles of wine. First off, who teaches their waiters to handle bottles? Might as well have been serving soda from a 2-liter bottle. My expectations were seriously low after that slop show. There are no appetizers of which to speak, our salads were average, and the Caesar tasted like romaine tossed in store bought dressing: no sharpness, savory flavors or impressive ingredients. The Antipasto Salad was an extravaganza of cold cuts, not premium meats. I tasted their Minestrone Soup. One taste was plenty. Nothing rich, deep or thoughtful about that bowl of average. Our pastas arrived, and we dine as a group because we like to share. Six healthy eaters didn't finish three plates of pasta and didn't want dessert. On our way out, the person who had gotten the recommendation from a co-worker apologized and stated flatly: "She doesn't even have good taste in shoes."

Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!! My wife ate the Jay's Famous Jumbo Shells when she helped chaperone our daughter's girl scout troop. She got sick from the food and had to stay an extra night in a hotel until she was well enough for me to take home (we live 2 1/2 hours away).

Pasta Jay's is a delightful copy of it's Boulder predecessor, but unlike the Pasta Jay's in Boulder, this one suffers from not being owned by the mob. There are not a lot of Italian places to go in the Park Meadows area. Maggiano's, Papa John's, and Pasta Jay's. I admit, I don't know a lot about the mob, what I've leaned has been taught by Francis Ford Copolla's masterpiece "The Black Stallion". I guess the Godfather series also contributed a bit. The uniforms at Maggiano's very closely match the wardrobe from the Godfather series and they play Frank Sinatra music: obviously owned by the mob. Papa John's has roughed up a few of its customers with heavy hands while wearing fedora's and trench coats, but they told me to 'forget about it", so I'm not going to say any more about them. Pasta Jay's is obviously not owned by the mob. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, not dark like the sets of the Godfather, and not once did I hear a French Horn. Their best dish, I think, is their Gnocchi in pesto-crème sauce. "Gnocchi" is pronounced "Knee*oh*key" and not "Guh*Knock*Key". They look at you funny if you say the later instead of the former. It's very tasty, very filling, and even a fat guy like me can't finish the portion in one sitting. Since Gnocchi is their best dish and not spaghetti with red sauce, I can tell that Pasta Jay's is not owned by the mob. It's a nice spot, very cozy, decent food, but if the mob owned it it'd have better food.

I like pasta, load me up with some carbs and cover them with sauce and cheese and I'm a happy camper. Pasta Jays provided all of that, so I was satisfied, but it didn't leave me wanting more. Maybe it was the dish I ordered, I'm not really sure, so I will take the blame for this one. I ordered the Veggie Cannelloni and enjoyed the artichokes, but the overall dish seemed to be lacking in flavor...add some more garlic to this folks!! So, what I did like about Pasta Jays was the service. When we arrived, the place was pretty packed, so we ended up sitting at the bar. This turned out to be a great choice, because Jill, our server/bartender was delightful. She made the entire visit enjoyable. It's also a cute atmosphere, I'm a sucker for red and white checked tablecloths at an Italian restaurant. Don't ask me why...I really don't know.

Was drawn in by the decor and smell of garlic bread, hoping to find a good local Italian joint. Service was great, attentive and friendly. The food was not. I wondered why it was so quiet when we walked in on a Saturday at prime dinner time. Caesar salad was bland. the dressing didn't taste fresh or zippy like it should. Garlic bread was off. The seafood special with white clam sauce was very oily, as though it had been a real sauce yesterday and had broken. My daughter had chicken parm that was a very thin tasteless breaded piece of chicken turned soggy in an overly acidic red sauce. I had high hopes that the food would be fresh, home made, and tasty. Not so. Better to pay a few bucks more and get tastier better prepared Italian from that really busy place up the road that begins with "Magg". Tipped our waitress well, but won't be back. Sorry.

The food from Pasta Jay's that we ate was really bad. Even the garlic bread tasted gross-- I'm wasn't aware that it was actually possible for an Italian joint to mess up garlic bread. The sauce was bland, meatballs were undercooked with an odd texture and flavor; the ravioli looked nothing like the picture, and the cheesy bread wasn't the least bit cheesy. Neither the kids or the adults in our group liked the flavor of just about anything we ordered (4 different dishes). We were hoping for a tasty, local dive, but this is not it. Would NOT recommend this place.

We met here for an little UYE. Mr Dale Z. invited us for this little get-together. I wish, Oh how I wish, He would have chosen a better place. Some people, really? rate this 4 or 5 stars. Why? I have no clue. I had the special...yesterday's crusty lasagna that should have went into the disposal...okay, it was not that bad, but close...just okay...but $12.50...for lunch? Yeh, right.... I wanted a little glass of Chanti for lunch...$8.00 for one...glass, not a big one either. Am I little unhappy? Yes. My bill was $26.61 for the above meal...tip included. Lunch...not dinner. Just me....myself...my share. Stop.

The good: Happy hour prices were good for $3 glasses of beer and wine. Service was very good. The not so good: The tomato sauce dishes in our party were way too spicy for a pasta dish. I believe most of the food must be prepped prior to cooking as I know my chicken parm was not fresh. If you are gonna charge $16 for a chicken parm dish it sure should be cooked to order not reheated in sauce and cheese. The prices are higher than average for what you receive. I would prefer Maggianos 10x over Pasta Jays. It's a shame as I wanted to like this place but unfortunately we won't return.

This place is awful. Been there a couple times, long wait over priced food and the dishes were horrible. Noodles were hard, sauce tasted like crap. To add to things the bread tastes like something I can't describe. Don't waste your money at this place, seems like they hire cheap labor cooks that would be better off working in a pot store.

I really wanted to love Pasta Jay's, I went in there with high hopes and maybe too high because it was pretty much adequate. Service was slow, and seemed to take awhile just to do something like order...and we even got there before the rush - nice waiter but it took forever. Then it got loud in there, small place and you can pretty much hear every convo at every table right near you. And let me tell you, there's a lot of tables right near you. Food, so-so. I did enjoy my food but they gave me the biggest piece of chicken ever and hardly any pasta....which had it been pasta and limited chicken I would have been more of a happy camper. My husband didn't like his white lasagna at all. I probably wouldn't be making any special trips there....and with such a wide selection in the area I don't think they'd pop back up in a we should go there situation.

We have been disappointed by Pasta Jay's a couple of times but have kept coming back just in case. Tonight will be our last visit. My husband and I are both CU alumns and were so excited to see that one of Boulder's establishments had a branch in Lone Tree. We have eaten there several times since and the food has always been okay. Nothing special but if you're craving pasta and red sauce it hits the spot. Every time we've visited the service has been ok. One night I waited 30 minutes for my to-go order which I had called ahead on (so the order took 1 hour) and the manager kindly comped part of my meal. That was nice. Tonight, however, I ordered our to-go order on GrubHub, which we have used at several other restaurants with no problem. When my husband went to pick up our order, the manager told him that all online orders go to the Boulder restaurant so they didn't have our order, my husband called me and I told him, no, in fact I had ordered it from the Lone Tree location. He told her that and mentioned it was on GrubHub, the manager rolled her eyes and said that he needed to say GrubHub specifically because that's "different". Excuse me? GrubHub is online so why is there confusion? I don't think he "needed" to do anything besides show up and pick up his order. Why the attitude? I called the manager and asked her why they would offer GrubHub ordering if they didn't appreciate the business and she told me that people come in all the time and are confused because of it. And that if he would just say GrubHub there wouldn't be a problem, I have never had someone at a restaurant blame the customer's way of asking for their order as the problem. If GrubHub is causing such confusion for them then I suggest they take their business of off their website. Finally, I don't appreciate the way both my husband and I were spoken to, I worked in a restaurant for several years during college and I know customers can be difficult but really? Arguing with someone about some faulty issues they have is not the way to keep customers.

This place is scary! Stay away! They've had tons of trouble with health code violations recently according to the news and I myself have gotten sick from their food. I normally don't put a business on the hotseat like this but when I've had so many friends get sick here due to apparent neglect for public health I think it's important to spread the word! Sorry pasta jays...

This is the second time I've eaten here. The 1st time we had eggplant. It was burned. Sent it back got another burned one. Our 5 year old ordered Mac n cheese. Macaroni was so hard she couldn't chew it, also cold. 2nd visit our mistake to order the eggplant again. Big mistake! 3rd time burned. I ordered a salad with a half sausage sandwich. Salad was very good. Garbanzo beans, olives, beets . Sandwich was served inside a bowl. The bread on the bottom was so soggy, I couldn't eat it. The 5 year old ordered a cheese pizza. The adults were finished eating their meals, when the server apologized that the pizza was not ready because it was burned. We waited another 15 minutes. The pizza was burned on the bottom, and the top was drenched in oil. So disgusting looking that we sent it back without even tasting it! I will not go back. If I could give this 0 stars, I would.

Been there twice now. Great place to take the wife on a date. Cozy, small, family feel atmosphere. Food is impressively good but heavy on the garlic. Minimal wine selection, and food comes out slow, so don't be in a hurry. But since I don't like the big restaurant feel, this is a great fit for me. Will be back.

The service is great and the atmosphere is good- the food, however, was very disappointing. The prices at pasta Jay's are on par with a really nice Italian restaurant, but it is just not good Italian food. Granted, Denver does not do Italian food very well, but this was even more Americanized than most, with the sauce way too sweet, and the ingredients not fresh at all. The sauce tasted like jarred preggo. Not recommended.

Where to start? The waitress was very nice, but the food was terrible. My daughter claimed that this is the worst restaurant she has ever been to. I love garlic, but the garlic bread at Pasta Jays had so much garlic it actually burned our mouths. The spinach in the salad was old and wilted to the point of being inedible. Everything was bad except the service. We didn't complain, we just will never go back.

We had a girls night and decided to go to Pasta Jays since I have to eat GF. I get all excited when there is GF options that consist of more than just salads and steaks. We go in and I verify they are GF and she says "yes but we run out of pasta a lot"...Not good in my book. You need to plan for your customers, its not like pasta goes bad quickly. They had the pasta ( I cannot have their GF pizza b/c it has yeast in it which I am highly allergic too). The pesto sauce was very good. The girls all enjoyed their meals and our waitress put up with our nonsense. The reason I gave this place a "3 star" was because they run out of options. I don't like places that cannot pre-plan and prepare for their customers, heck we were in their on a tues. Most orders come in on a monday/tuesday morning.

People referring to this as "authentic Italian food" is making me want to pull my hair out. Pasta Jays is to Italian as its neighbor Brewery Bar is to Mexican. It's highly Americanized to the point of not being palatable. Eating in Italy never made me feel sick and heavy. Eating at Pasta Jay's makes me feel like I'm sweating butter, covered in a pound of cheese, rolled in salt. Also, if you like molten lava, this is the place for you! Every dish I've ever tried has been absurdly hot. Like, third degree burns hot. There is absolutely no refinement in their menu, in their cooking, or in their presentation. And... at the prices they charge, it really should be a LOT better. It also really irks me that they charge you a "container" fee on take out orders. If you like gnocchi (and I do), I recommend Sonomaz up the street. It's the same price and a lot better. If you like authentic Italian food then, well, I can't help you. I haven't found a place in Denver yet that is similar to the real deal. Pasta Jays is not even close.

I really want to like this place. In fact, I want to like it so much, that we kept going there after a few bad dining experiences. The food is pretty darn good. It's not fabulous, but for the price it's really pretty darn good. The problem is the service. When the place first opened, it was pretty good, but it kept getting worse and worse. So bad, that despite the good food, I won't go there any more. I know it's one thing for a service staff to have an off day, so we tried it again, and again, and again. No more. Examples: Having waitresses and bus staff walk by right after my teen aged daughter spilled her water. Even after we asked for something to clean it up with, they literally, just gave us a few napkins. Two out of three times, not getting what we ordered. The kitchen staff go out of their way to make it right, but they can only cook so quickly.

Boulder location has always been amazing...but Lone Tree was really poor. Garlic bread was overcooked and over-garlic'd. 2 of 4 entrees were overcooked and dinkier portion sizes compared to Boulder location. Baked Lorenzo lacked the tangy/dynamite sauce we've experienced at the Boulder location. Only the Stuffed Genovese special was anything special. Go to Boulder location or take a pass.

Too hot to order wine. What was I thinking? Especially since my baked dish of noodles with meat sauce came out bubbling hot. Talk about sweating oops I mean glowing. The dish was ok but not something I will run back for at least in this weather. The garlic bread needed something more than just garlic. The salad came with a little creamy Italian dressing. It was not great but certainly edible. The restaurant is not big but enough sitting tables and it was almost full. The Italian ceramic pieces on the walls were interesting. I just wish it was better food.

I absolutely love this place! I've only been to the location in Lone Tree, but I've gone a few times now. The service is excellent, the baked pasta dishes are some of the best pastas in the city and the prices are very fair... Recently we had a large takeout order and they forgot one of the meals. I went back to work and realized I needed to run back to get it. They were there waiting with a $20 gift card waiting with the meal. Unreal that I wasn't upset and never would have complained about it and they took care of me. Stop eating at stupid places and try Pasta Jay's if you haven't been there yet! I'll meet you up there!

I'll do a sandwich review here. The service was outstanding. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Prices were decent, too. My biggest complaint is the lack of veggie choices. The server told us that the soup, marinara sauce, and pesto all have some sort of fish or animal base. I didn't inquire about everything on the menu - but those three things I did ask about and they all have animal products. They did offer whole wheat pasta, though, but I don't think it's listed on the menu, you have to request it. My non-vegan daughter had the mac and cheese and loved it! So to recap: limited menu for vegans/vegetarians but great service and decent prices.

I wanted to like this place, the reviews seemed to be positive across the board. I can only speak for the pizza here...the disgusting burnt ultra thin pizza. We ordered a large and when it came out the outside ring was seriously burnt. I'm talking CHARRED burnt. It was a 14 inch pizza and only 12 inches of it wasn't burnt. When I expressed my concern for receiving a burnt pizza the waitress told me that Jay likes it that way and instructs them to cool it like that. In fact, the pizza I received was "undercooked" according to her. What?? Are you kidding me?? Jay, I can't speak for the rest of the people on here but come on man, how many people actually like BURNT pizza? I'd give this place zero stars if I could. Be warned!

I had the chance to first try Pasta Jay's at their original location in Boulder about four years ago and absolutely loved it, and so I was glad when they opened up a location closer to where I actually live. The Park Meadows Pasta Jay's is easily one of my favorite restaurants to eat at in the area, and its atmosphere is different than the Boulder location. The Boulder location is *a bit* more of a 'special occasion' sort of place off of bustling Pearl Street, where as the Park Meadows location is tucked away from main traffic into a strip mall next to a Subway. But don't let the low-key and casual atmosphere of the Park Meadows location fool you. The food is just as delicious. The food always comes out piping hot and out of the 10 to 15 (or so) times that I've ate at this location, the service has always been top notch. My husband and I enjoy bringing various friends and family with us to dine, and all have left happy and satisfied. In the past few years that it has been open, I have also noticed many of the same waitstaff always happy to serve us. Employee turnover seems low, and that's usually a good sign of a well-run business. That isn't always easy to find in a restaurant! Pasta Jay's isn't without its flaws, albeit small ones. The tables ARE very close together, which can make things a little uncomfortable at times. I also love to really get my "grub on" when eating italian food, and so the small tables make it sometimes difficult to order a lot of things and have a good spread of things to try. I also hate their garlic bread. I know some people go crazy for it, but it has a bit of a weird fishy taste to it. I'm not a fish lover, so I'm not a fan. But when dipped in their marinara sauce, it's tolerable. But oh, that marinara sauce. It's so good! I always get the manicotti and I actually physically crave it at times. It's perfectly done, with just the right amount sauce-to-cheese ratio. It comes out piping hot (so be prepared to wait a few minutes before digging in or else you'll get burned!). My husband always gets the spaghetti, although he enjoys their lasagna too. Unfortunately, they only serve lasagna one day a week (aptly called 'The Only Day You Can get Lasagna' Wednesday on their menu), so if you are a lasagna lover you might want to take note. This location was pretty sleepy for awhile, given their newness and off-the-beaten-path location, but the past few times we have been there it has been bustling--especially around 6:30pm to 7pm hour. If you want to go at these times, you might want to get reservations just to be safe. Other than that, go! Enjoy! It's so, so, so good. Yum.

Great place for authentic Italian. The service is very attentive...you clearly get the message that they are glad you are there. The Jumbo Pasta Shells are absolutely delish! The soup is tasty, the pizzas are right on. Give it a try...it'll be a favorite of yours, too!

Pasta Jays and I go way back. Do you know how some restaurants have that one dish that you crave when you think about it? Like you're in the shower and you just suddenly think, man... I could really eat some Alfredo Williams right now. And then it's all you can think about until you get it. Pasta Jays has that dish for me. Yes it's called Alfredo Williams. They must put endorphins in it. It's a giant slab of fried chicken breast, Alf noodles and a thick creamy white sauce all named for the very large black man who helped CU win the national title in the 90's. It's always packed on weekends so get ready to wait. Service is average, college age kids who could give a fuck but will at least refill your Sprite between texts. You'll find your shower dish here. I promise.

Chicken Michelle is to die for!! It's not on the menu but they will still make it if you ask.....breaded chicken bathed in cheese and a creamy vodka sauce. Caprese salad is pretty great too!!! Service is a little something to be desired but the food will always bring us back

Food was good. Wait staff are ok. The tables were very close together but we got the best table in the house which was in the far back. Eggplant parmesean was wonderful. A little steep on their prices. But nothing too bad about this place.

YAHOO! My favorite Italian Restaurant from Boulder has finally opened closer to me! My husband and I were there for opening night March 1st which wasn't even advertised but as you can see from the pictures, the place was packed anyway. Jay himself was greeting folks at the door and was surprised to see how full it was on opening day. Their new location will remind you of the Pearl Street location except that it's more open, there is more seating on the patio and the customers are lots of young families and empty nesters instead of the college crowd. I had the chicken pesto pasta which is always excellent but my husband had their Sunday special of steak Bracchiole (sp?) which was just AMAZING! I ate 1/2 of my husbands. :p The garlic bread served at the beginning of the meal is awesome.. and the best thing was even in the parking lot we could SMELL Pasta Jays.

Two strikes - one in Moab and one at Park Meadows. Won't be going back despite fond memories of the good old days in Boulder - back in 1989-1990. Recently at Park Meadows - my cannoloni was burned to a crisp, my kid's pasta was a small pile of oily noodles and my wife got sick precisely 3 hours after the meal. Back in October 2011, the meal in Moab wasn't much better but my wife didn't get sick.

I'd been wanting to try Pasta Jays for awhile, just about every time I walk past it as I am going into the Starbucks the food smells amazing, so I decided to finally give it a try. And I must say that my overall total experience was sub par. Here are my observations, good and bad: -------------------------------------------------------- Food - 4.25 Stars. The smell of the food was by far the best part of the experience and the taste of the food wasn't bad (smell 4.5 stars, taste 4 stars). Service - 2.5 Stars. I've been a waiter and I know how the service industry gets on busy nights, it was a Friday night, so I understand how quality of service is effected and adjust my opinion accordingly. That being said the over service was still slightly below average. The bartender was nice enough but the not all that attentive. I sat at the bar for nearly 5 minutes before she acknowledged me and was never given a set of silverware. But, also in her defense, there was another bartender behind the bar, not once did she speak to me the entire visit. Atmosphere - 0 Stars (negative if I could). The atmosphere was great, at first, until some of the kitchen staff's shifts ended and they decided to all park themselves at the bar to eat, drink and bitch right next to me. Like I said earlier, I've waited tables, and had done so for many years, and know how bad it looks to have employees bitching and moaning about work, and being loud and obnoxious around guests. Most restaurants will designate a specific area of the dining room to the staff that has been cut. The owners might think of doing this... Price - 3 Stars. Average prices for an average restaurant. Overall Rating - 2.5 Stars. Pasta Jays has a lot of room for improvement, specifically in its service, but overall isn't a bad place to eat.

We were on our way back from Larkspur. I've never been to Lone Tree and really did not have any idea if I would be able to find any vegan food. I was pleased to have located this place! They did not have a wide variety but were willing to accomodate my order. They have one vegan dish on the menu and encouraged me to add any vegetables I wished to the dish. I ordered the Margherita Pasta - which was deliciouso! The carmelized garlic really gave the dish a bold flavor and the tomato slices were thick and fresh and tasty. I added artichoke hearts and mushrooms. It was delightful. Great portion size as well. The environment or ambience of the place was nice as well... it was not too large with seating inside and outdoors. The place was packed so it was a bit loud.... but a busy restaurant is a good sign! I would stop in here again and play with some of their other menu items to see if they could vegan - ize them.

Tonight we tried Pasta Jay's for the second time. We like Italian cuisine and try to find a variety of places to enjoy it. In a nutshell, their food is decent but far from exceptional. Price-wise, I expect better quality for the investment. The entree prices are not too out of line but do not include any salad. Also, be prepared to pay $3.00 if you wish to get any extra bread - seriously? Our server was prompt and nice and the atmosphere here is pleasant although we did have to deal with being somewhat crowded by the diners at the table next to us. For better food at better prices, try Mama Roma's at County Line and Quebec. If I had the option, I would rate Pasta Jay's a 2.5. The bottom line... there are lots of good Italian restaurants in the south metro area so you don't need to settle for this one.

I have been going to Pasta Jays for years, usually the one in Boulder. I now live in Boston but whenever I come to visit my family we usually head here. The food is always good (super garlic) and the kids love it (kids eat free is a bonus). The garlic bread is amazing! The gnocchi is great and if you are a meat eater order or get a side of meatballs. they are fabulous.

PJs has been a family destination since I was little. Now that I have little ones, we've come full circle. I crave their house dressing and garlic bread among many of their entrees. The Hagan Option is often the only option when I can't choose between my favorites! Good if you like garlic, casual eating, family, and are close to either Boulder or Park Meadows. If you don't like garlic, go to Olive Garden.

This place definitely dresses to impress, turning a few hundred square feet of dining into a spacious looking establishment where you can have the privacy of your own conversation even if a table is filled right next to you. I didn't want to be judgemental, but not knowing much about the place I wasn't sure what to expect. Was this just a glossed over Olive Garden where everything is prepackaged in back? The courtesy bread led you to think so, it was a baked garlic bread served plain. Having snacked a bit earlier that day I went for the spinach and arugula salad. It was served just like the place, dressed to impress. But it wasn't very practical, and needed to be tossed up to get some of the leaves below to mingle with the feta & balsamic vinegar that was spread all over top. It could've used more nuts, but I don't need more fat in my diet so I should be pretty happy, I got what I wanted. My dining mates went with pasta dishes, I did not sample but they were pretty happy with their meals. We were there for lunch, and if what was served was a lunch portion I would recommend splitting dinner plates with a significant other. Each of my fellow diners took home leftovers. All in all, it may be prepackaged, it may not. Perhaps the experience differs, but our lunches were served very fresh, tasted good, and presented well. The only drawback was we barely fit in our meal in an hour's time span. If that means the plates are made fresh to order, then I'll totally give them that time, just be cautious with your selection if you are pressed for time. Will come back!

I had high hopes for this pasta joint as the other reviewers seemed to like the pasta. We walked in to a kitschy italian cafe - red and white checkered table cloths, stone work inside, flowers in old bottles of wine, etc. There was no wait. There was a decent bar in the middle of the restaurant with the Rockies playing on the TV. But, boy, did this restaurant disappoint when it came to the food. I orderedthe lobster ravioli, which was a special for the night, and my wife ordered the lasagna - a special every Wednesday. We also had dinner salads and the meals came with garlic bread. WARNING: If you don't like garlic, avoid this place. They use it raw everywhere. The salads came out first, and were reasonable inventive. Instead of the usual dumpy salad we normally get, we got a romaine based salad with olive, garbanzo beans and shredded mozzarella. It was topped with a very strong, very thick garlicky italian cream dressing. This would have gone over better had they tossed the salad in the dressing, but instead they just dumped it on top in a big blob. The garlic bread came out hot and very garlicky. You will need the garlic bread for later, so don't eat it all. Then the main course came out. Both plates were drowned in sauce and cheese that had been melted in a homogenous blob on top via a salamander. The result - the pasta underneath might have been good, but drowned in sauce that was so hot it might have just as well been molten lava. The portions were large. (We were told when we commented on the amount of sauce that it's that way because people like to dip). The pasta, once it had cooled to a point where it doesn't burn the tongue and removed from the dripping sauce, was fairly decent. Personally, I'd rather go to Il Fornaio up in DTC. This isn't good enough to rate among even average italian joints. And if the owners happen across this review, please put extra sauce on the side rather than smothering the highlight of the dish, and no - you don't need to use the salamander to convert your creations to molten lava.

I have never been here but passed by the other day and finally decided to check it out. Initially I really loved the atmosphere, it's a quaint traditional Italian restaurant with a slight modern twist. It was felt warm and welcoming. I ordered the Gnocchi and ended up getting a free meal to go out of it because our waitress put in the wrong order. She apologized and seemed sincerely sorry, telling me that I would have my Gnocchi in "two minutes" which was in actuality turned out to be about 10 minutes. I wouldn't have been as annoyed if my boyfriend had not already finished more than half of his meal before I had even received mine. Don't get me wrong, I was sympathetic initially but don't tell me that I'm going to get my food in X minutes if that's not the reality of the situation. When I finally got my food I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the Gnocchi was. It was covered in a cheesy layer mixed with some sort of tomato sauce. I ate every bite because it was absolutely wonderful. I also have to give this place a nod for it's amazing garlic bread. I wanted to give this place four stars but I have to give it three because of my experience but I would still recommend this place for anyone craving hearty Italian food. :)

Pasta Jays - A Haiku Lasagna for me. Ouch my tongue is melting, That's molten hot cheese. Let me start by saying this place was on its way to 5 stars the first time I went there. But each successive time it has lost credit. Its firmly entrenched in "meh, pretty good" territory. I am kind of an Italian food snob. I admit that. So usually I try to grade on a curve. But this place does 2 things I cant stand. It covers everything in gallons of sauce and it burns the pasta. Yes its true that they use a ton of garlic, but I can tolerate it as long as its done for taste. I know their thing is to hit everything up in the massive brick oven or whatever, but hot and melty does not make a great meal. Most of the time the food is too hot to eat. I have had a good meal here, i have had a bad. When it comes down to it, this place is just like Maggiano's or the Olive Garden. Its a solid meal, but nothing to write home about.

Remember on my Il Posto review how I said: "I lived in Italia for three years and I know what good Italian food taste like. Are you one of the hundreds of people that enjoy dining at Maggianos or Olive Garden? Do you like everything smothered in red or white sauce that taste like it came out of the jar? Are you unaware there is more cheese then Parmesan out of a shake can and cow milk Mozzarella? If you answered yes to any of these questions then Il Posto is not the place for you." Well if you answered no to any of those questions then Pasta Jays should be right up your alley. I can not think of one redeeming quality about this establishment. Let me take you on a mental date: My party of six arrived five minutes early to our 6:30 p.m. reservation. They checked their reservation book noted that they had it and asked us to take a seat at the bar until they could clear our table. Our table we reserved became available at 7:05 p.m. Not the best start to the evening. We are seated at what are obviously two tables pushed together. That is not the issue; the issue is that the tables are not the same height and two people have to sit on the uneven crack to eat. Additionally the table I am seated out is completely crooked and shakes when you touch it. My dad orders two of the pesto cheese breads and we all start ordering wine and beer. When our first round arrives the waitress proceeds to set down my moms beer right on the crack of the table; effectively spilling the beer everywhere. Of course beer, like any other liquid, follows the path of least resistance down the crooked, lopsided table and nearly into someone's lap. Our waitress who moves a fast as molasses "rushes" to get some paper napkins from neighboring tables to clean up the beer. By the time she gets back we have the situation under control. She leaves to get my mom another beer and somehow forgets that napkins are an intricate part of dinner. The pesto cheese breads arrive and they look like they might redeem the evening. To bad for me they taste nothing like pesto or mozzarella. They taste like nothing. There is no hint of basil or pine nuts or cheese or salt or garlic; only nothingness. At this point on our mental date it is about 8:30 p.m. and my party has yet to order our dinner entrees although we have asked to do so at least once. Mind you the five person table who was seated after us has order their appetizers and entrees, eaten them, and are now working on dessert. Did I forget to mention we have the same waitress? Finally we place our entrée orders. I go for the Veggie Cannelloni (pasta stuffed with ricotta, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes & artichoke hearts topped with mozzarella and baked in marinara sauce). I suddenly realized I should have order something more basic because as long as it has taken to get a table with a reservation in place and to get my order placed chances are my food is either going to come out cold and/or in about an hour. Now the entire time I have been sitting in this restaurant I have been bothered by how loud it is. I am nearly screaming to my mom who can't be more then 2 feet away. I am bothered by all the gnats flying around the table and in the ladies room. I am bothered by the fact that the waitress still has not replaced our paper napkins from her beer spill about an hour ago (so much so I went and got them myself off an empty table). Frankly I have had it. The entrees come out a little before 9 p.m. and they are hot; which appears to be a miracle. I have two bites and push my food aside. I have never tasted Italian food that was worse. I would have rather eaten spaghetti out of a can. They should hire Chef Boyardee because it would be an improvement. When the check came we realized that our table was being charged the 18% gratuity. Well of course, we are a table of six or more. The waitress didn't deserve a monetary tip, much less at 18%. And I just found out "Many people do not know this: Gratuity is ALWAYS Optional. Even if it's "Added" onto a check, you as a customer ALWAYS have the right to adjust it, up OR DOWN, as you see fit". My mother put it best last night: "This is like one step up from a Fazzoli's". Here is the big difference though: I don't expect quality food from Fazzoli's.

I have rather mixed feelings about this place. A buddy I was with told me that we had to try this place out, as it is quite famous for it's pasta. Fine by me, I'm up for anything. However, we were not prepared for the wait that was thrust upon us. Upon entering the place we were told our wait would be around 45 minutes. Ok, not a big deal. We decided to go wander Pearl Street as it is known for it's little shops. Coming back 40 minutes later, we were told it'll be maybe 10 minutes more. Ok, not a big deal. We ended up waiting a total of almost 2 hours. Frankly, I dont think any place is good enough to wait for 2 hours. Their saving grace is they do hand out free slices of pizza to people waiting in line, and the pasta is indeed incredible. Probably the best I've ever had. If they become more accurate with the wait predictions, I'll give them 5 stars. I've eaten at a lot of Italian joints, and this place is heads and shoulders above. Quit telling people "5 more minutes/they are clearing your table off now," and give an accurate wait time. Besides that, awesome food at good prices.

Not a fan. Average Italian typical to Highlands Ranch. Service was decent, the food was greasy and way too salty.

We live in Lone Tree and finally tried Pasta Jays. We travel a lot for business so we eat out alot. I liked the atmosphere and décor, great job. The food was a disappointment. I'm sorry but want to be honest as we are craving a good Italian restaurant in our area that isn't a chain. So my comments are to hopefully help. Our house salads were in a heavy creamy Italian dressing, too heavy couldn't eat it. We ordered eggplant, manicotti and ravioli, sides of meatballs and sausage. Too heavy with bland flavor. Our bill for two was over $100 too much money to go down the street and eat mediocre food.

Went to Pasta jay's last night which is just 1/2 from where I live on Park Meadows in Lone Tree. I sat at the bar and ordered a to go pizza. I waited 25 minutes and finally the pizza came out and was TOTALLY BURNED on the bottom. Luckily I caught it and they said they would make me another. They did but it was not fully cooked. I took it home to my family and everyone was disappointed. This will be my LAST Pasta Jay's visit. They offered me a beer. No discount off the food or no gift certicate for my next meal there. Very Very Poor Form...............

Just ok. We have been here quite a few times since moving to the south side, and it is never nearly as good as the Boulder location. I am one of those who orders the same exact dish for years once I find one a favorite and Pasta Jay's in Boulder has my favorite tortellini dish ever! However, ordering the same dish at this location has never come close. Last time it came out so greasy it was orange, and un-edible. I had to send it back which I really never do. Not sure why there is such a huge gap in quality between the two but we will be headed to Boulder next time we need a Pasta Jay's fix.

I debated between three and four stars for a while before chosing three...wait maybe I want to go back to four. Ahh, decisions! Getting my morning coffee at Starbucks I see the Pasta Jay's sign and it sparks something in my brain, "I think I've heard that name before. Must check yelp when I get to my computer." Sure enough its the same as up in Boulder. So I convinced some co-workers to join me for lunch. I love the decor and the friendly staff. I can't wait to go back and sit out on the patio. The red and white tableclothes let you know you're in an Italian place, for sure. The lunch menu is abbreviated, but also cheaper, so I was ok. I had the baked spaghetti. My friends had the Penne alla Vodka Bolognese and the Fettucinne Cocco, which had mushrooms and some other veggies in a tomato basil cream sauce. I also had an iced tea. The food: Everything was good. No major problems to report. However there are few things I need to comment on. The garlic bread was good--once we added some salt. I think they used unsalted butter on the toast that day (probably because that's what they use in the sauces). Also, my friend had to season up her fettucinne quite a bit. Again, nothing major, just not quite perfect. Lastly, the iced tea's were $2.50 each. Maybe I'm just cheap, but that seems a little high to me. Overall, the portions (even at lunch) were big enough that we had leftovers for dinner. And the prices (besides the drinks) were reasonable. I like the location, I like the service, I like the food. I'm sure I'll be back.

Even if everything had gone well, Pasta Jay's still wouldn't warrant five stars or even four. If everything had gone perfectly, it still wouldn't be worth $50 for a kids meal, pasta, salad, and a glass of wine. The food is good. I had baked ravioli, which had a creamy texture. The sauce was so good, I think I absentmindedly sucked my fork a few times. The salad came with a load of gorgonzolla on top ($2 extra) that was so huge it was almost too much for me. My $8 (!) glass of wine was generous. Somethings you may not know from other reviews: paper napkins - not the nice kind thin, scratchy silverware - you know the kind that's usually at the condiment station plastic diner cups for water and milk that were much too small no bread plates - which makes for crumble-tastic tablecloths, although, the hot bus boy did change one tablecloth. Oh, and they were out of this, out of that, which I will attribute to newness. Still, very disappointing to learn the spumoni was on the out-of list. The mac-n-chesse was really just alfredo sauced with a little mozzerella melted on top. Colin's mac-n-cheese meter: 1.

Pasta Jay's in Lone Tree has the feel of a neighborhood trattoria, and offers a full menu and decent wine list. The atmosphere is casual, warm, and friendly complete with red checkered table clothes. The smell of garlic fills the air and stimulates your appetite as you begin to imagine wonderful Italian favorites. Everyone starts off with a complimentary basket of hot buttery garlic bread. We split the Caprese Salad which is outstanding, thick slices of tomato, fresh basil, capers & mozzarella drizzled with olive oil & balsamic. Our pasta dishes were wonderful too with handmade pasta, fresh ingredients and savory sauce. On a busy Saturday night it was not the quiet romantic Italian dinner we had hoped for, but the food was exceptional. The salad, two glasses of Chianti, and two pasta entrees was $45.94, before tip, so the prices aren't bad either.

Pasta Jays - Welcome to Lone Tree! I have been dying for the kind of Italian dining experience that you are. After reading many great reviews of your Boulder location, I had decided that I was going to have to try it myself next time I was in that area. Much to my surprise and pleasure, Chris M. sent me her review of a new Pasta Jays that has opened up in Lone Tree within the last couple of days. Your food was great and the restaurant was decorated in every way that I would want in an Italian restaurant. From the red brick archways to the the red and white checkered table cloths on the table, it was fantastic. Also the retractable walls and outside dining was amazing on a warm day like the day I went On the negative side, $2.50 for a Coke? Come on! As a card-carrying member of PEPS (People for the Ethical Pricing of Soda), I have to protest. Bring down the drink prices or I'll bring a million-man march down on your store. Or maybe I'll just order water. Kayley was my designated table-servant. She did an excellent job and did much to ensure that I would come back again.

I found myself surprised about this place. I headed to Pasta Jays for dinner with a group of friends; and at first waiting for long time to have a table was one of the things I was not expecting for that night. The place was packed and more people showing up. However the staff was working very well to quickly accommodate everybody. The only thing that crossed my mind was that place should have something special hidden. Despite the crowd, it had. The atmosphere is nice with pretty interesting decoration on golden brown walls. The bar area looks cool, and most the outside walls are built with big windows, what makes the place looks more spacious. I believe the reason for having a lot of people was the food. I had a night special, lasagna. Well prepared and rich flavor. Creamy cheese inside, not dry, not much sauce. Just perfect! They have a nice selection of wine by glass or bottle. Despite the waiting time, great food and good ambiance. Service staff nice and friendly.

Vegetarians beware! The marinara sauce contains fish broth... pretty stupid of them to do, especially when it's not listed on the menu and the wait staff don't mention it.

OK, I know their name is Pasta Jays but they make some of the best pizza I have ever had. I have eaten literally hundreds of pounds of pizza in my life and their Roman Orgy pizza is the best. I always order it with the Alfred sauce instead of the tomato and it is killer. The only bad thing is that it's so good that I can't stop eating it. Hmm, I think I need to get back there for my pizza fix.

I got the Roman Orgy pizza, which sounds loaded with stuff, but wasn't: a few peppers, mushrooms, anchovies, etc. The medium seems like a ripoff at $15 -- it's a meal and a half for one person. It's thin crust too, and it was burned in spots on the edges. But it was quite tasty, and the ingredients like the sausage seemed good quality. There's a lot of other stuff on the menu that sounds good and I'll probably try, but not the pizza.

We've been to their location in Moab many times and were stoked to see this one open up. The food didn't quite live up to what we were used to from the Moab location, but it's still something different than your typical Olive Garden style Italian.

Blasphemy - a Pasta Jays outside of Boulder! Once I got past that, I remembered how good Pasta Jays food is. I had the Chicken Pomodoro, excellent! Only one complaint it was too hot! I could barely eat it for several minutes. My wife had the Chicken Cacciatore, it too was excellent, fresh veggies and a nice sweet tomato sauce. Both entrees were huge and left us plenty of left overs for lunch the next day. The garlic bread was nothing special, maybe a little over toasted. The major drawback was the staff, it was very obvious that they were new and still working out the details, but I expect that Jay would have hired a more seasoned staff, our waitress must have asked us 3-4 times if we were ready for order in 10 minutes. The hostess tried to seat a group of 6 big guys at a table that could barely seat 4 "normal" sized guys. The entire staff needs to dress a little less like their going clubbing after work. Overall excellent food, a little pricey, but worth it and 40 miles closer to home than the original in Boulder.

Meh - not impressed. I'm tired of bland food at restaurants posing as Italian. I too can make spaghetti - doesn't mean I can market it. Give me something unique!

Been to Pasta Jay's couple of times since I wrote my last review. The service is still excellent (from hostess to servers); I just love the food here - especially the tasty freshly-made sandwiches for lunch. Very nice and relaxing environment; the manager seems very nice, always greeting and thanking customers when they leave. The house salad is my favorite because the lettuce has always been very fresh and crisp, just love the consistency. The only downside of the last visit was that the dressing for the house salad wasn't made right, the servers agreed that it was little watery. Other than that, Pasta Jay's beats Maggiano's any day!

When you drive up to Pasta Jay's you wouldn't expect the food inside would be something to write home about. The decor is very clean and nice but it just doesn't scream "authentic Italian food!". But when the food comes out the food speaks for itself. The food is always excellent and the service is great. Pricing is not expensive but it's not cheap either. My husband and I dined there ordering 1 starter salad, 2 entrees, each a 1/2 litre of wine and 1 dessert and the total (with tip) came out to about $75. So not too bad for some great Italian in the middle of Lone Tree.

Pasta Jay's is a great local restaurant with a friendly staff, a great menu and very good specials. We find ourselves both ordering pick up, as well as dining at the restaurant -- the staff is very good about remembering repeat/local patrons.

One of the absolute best American Italian places I have been. Tortellini Borbalini, WOW. Baked spaghetti is great and I enjoy their bread. Never had bad service here. If you don't like garlic you won't like this place, but why else would you eat Italian food?

Eh, not bad. I've had quite a few meals up at the Boulder location and it's decent Italian food. The food is not bad, but the service is way too rushed. My #1 pet peeve at a restaurant is eating a salad and having my main course come out while still eating. I cannot stand the obsession of speed at a restaurant. Why is this something I should desire? I would much rather have a good meal than a quick meal. I couldn't believe how many tables turned over in our time there. I didn't feel like we were that slow, but there were people flying through their dinner. As for the food, skip the dinner salad. It is poorly put together, particularly with the out of place beet, a blob of salad dressing focused in the center, and cheese (which negates the healthiness of the salad). None of us at the table ordered cheese on our salad, but apparently it comes sprinkled on top of it. Thanks? I had the alleged shrimp ravioli, which was the special, so it wasn't on the menu. This is important because I couldn't verify if it truly was supposed to be shrimp ravioli or the waitress just got it wrong. The only creature of the sea in my pasta was crab. That was fine, but it just took me a while of searching to realize I wouldn't discover any shrimp. All in all, it was an okay place. If you have kids, it seems like the hot spot for children. If you don't, try dining a little later to avoid daycare atmosphere.

This place is decent Italian... It is not over-priced but is a fun, decent place.. Are orders came piping hot !!! .. Good tasting and not TOO expensive... We ordered the house wine which was decent.. Who needs all that fancy wine, where the price is rediculous and you can't hardly taste any difference.. The service was good and they were super-friendly... We just got two entres and wine... That filled us up. WE did not order appitizers, or desert.. WE were stuffed, They serve up garlic bread to begin, and that with the Entre was filling.. Maybe too much... Perhaps you can split an entre and split an appetizer. This would not be a bad way to go... Pasta Jay's is nice... Decent, not too big and kind of homey italian... Do not like places too big, where the place is kind of empty... Pasta Jay's is reasonable and not a bad place to go.. They go out of their way for good food, good prices, and good service... You can find fancier places that will rip you off like Brio, but it is NOT any better... So why spend too much when you do not have to,, and even have more fun at P J's !!!

yikes-we've loved the boulder location, tried lone tree & i've got to be honest, our server, d****a, gave us the worst service I've even had in my life. *20 minutes to get salad *main entrees were brought at same time as salad (but to only 1/2 of our party) *we waited for d****a to bring the rest of the entrees, but she forgot & didn't seem to know what we were talking about when we asked where the rest of our meals were *waited 10 more minutes for the rest of the meals * she did not notice that our waters were empty-had to ask for more, then she plunked down a pitcher on our table *she never brought one guest a soda that was requested *when asked where the side of pasta was for an entree, she left to get it, but did not return for over 10 minutes, and the pasta and sauce were cold *overcharged for all of our salads *When we thought that nothing more could go wrong, our party of 6 were charged 18% gratuity for a dinner that we could not enjoy very well. This server never aplogized for all of the mistakes, or even had a sympathetic attitude - people understand when servers are running busy, but rarely understand when the service is just plain rude. I've never written a bad review, but it was almost comical how awful the service was.

Uncooked chicken... I think that says it all. My wife and I decided to try Pasta Jay's last night since we drive by it almost every day and read fairly good reviews here on Yelp. We made it before Happy Hour ended (6 PM) and started the meal with $3 glasses of the house Chianti. For $3, it was light and pretty good. We ordered the following dishes: - The Hagan (pick 3); Gnocchi, Manicotti and Chicken Parm baked with a marinara sauce. We thought the marinara sauce was pretty good but the Chicken Parm was slightly salty for my taste. The Gnocchi and Manicotti were "ok" but nothing special. Since everything is baked with a ton of cheese, it was a pretty heavy dish. - Chicken Pesto Tortellone; The lime green (Pesto/cream) appearance of the sauce through us for a loop. The sauce wasn't bad but another very heavy dish. Portions are large but I thought the prices were a little high for the food. Everything was ok but nothing extraordinary. Of course, uncooked chicken pretty much changes everything. Back to the chicken.. My wife ordered the Chicken Pesto Tortellone. The chicken is presented in strips in the "lime green" pesto cream sauce with the tortellone. After a bite of one of the chicken strips, she thought that the chicken seemed undercooked. I took a look at it, and the rest of the chicken strip seemed fine. Since she was already turned off with the color of the dish (I'm not as picky), we traded dishes. I tried another piece of the chicken and this bite seemed off. Tendor chicken is a good thing, however, this was way too tender and had a very odd texture. After further investigation, I noticed that the middle of the chicken was translucent (thus raw).. That pretty much did it for us and we both lost our appetites. After apologies from the waitress and manager, we were ready to leave. It seems like they hired a new prep cook who is still learning to properly cook meats. They had issues with the meatballs earlier in the day.. Scary. I'm sure this is an exception and appreciate the fact that the staff was truly apologetic for the incident (as they should be). They compensated us with a gift certificate to come back. Honestly, not sure if we ever will. If interested, look for it on Craigslist. Like Jeremy H., I felt pretty compelled to write my first Yelp review based on our experience here..

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
