We came here for beers and appetizers recently and it was a nice little bar. Great views and all the staff seemed very nice. The nachos were great and they had a wide selection of beers to choose from. That's the way to go!

Okay food, crappy service. Ordered the Sample Platter which had a variety of stuff. It was pretty good with the exception of the clam strips, they were just about burnt. Waitress was MIA most of the time. We sat down, she asked if we wanted water while we looked over the menu, we said yes. Table to our right was finishing up. They paid their bill, chit chatted for a bit, left, table cleaned, new couple sat down, same waitress greeted them, left and a few minutes later they had water, we still did not. Eventually she came back and took our order. Someone else brought our drinks as well as someone else brought our food. We seen her again half way through our meal and then not again until about 15 minutes after we were finished eating and our glasses sat empty for at least that long. We then had to wait almost another 10 minutes for our ticket just so we could leave. Had the service been better we might have gone back someday, but there are way too many restaurants/bar grills to spend our hard earned money at than one where we may get crappy service again.

How can you beat cold beer on the greatest bar patio on a Spring or summer day? Five stars overall. Ok yes, the service can be mixed good/bad but it's not a gourmet restaurant. It's an insanely busy bar. The food is good bar food. The people are awesome bar people. The patio rocks. The beer is cold. Live music some nights is killer. Really - what else can you ask for?

I must say that I have loved most of my experiences at Platte River Bar & Grill! I used to go every Sunday because I had a friend that worked for Jammin' Trivia and we would got to partake in not just that, but soak up some time on their awesome patio. As you can see I also enjoyed their 32 ounce strawberry margaritas' too! They frequently have bands that play out in the patio area. They have some awesome fire pits. Did I mention the patio?! Well their patio puts most to shame. With large garage doors that roll up to bring that great Colorado warmth inside how can you go wrong? You cant, that's how. Let not forget about the food. The food was actually pretty awesome. I don't know why I would expect anything less. Oh wait; I didn't! Go there, go there now.

Huge awesome patio, good food, good beer. Tons of parking and even biker specific spots. Awesome place to spend the afternoon on that patio with your friends, drink beer and maybe watch some sports.

If you're going to eat at The Platte be prepared to be nickel and dimed for every little thing you order. We used to come to The Platte for the great food and prices but going forward we'll give our business to other local bar and grilles. Today I paid for 1/2 order of chips/salsa, combo plate w/ 2 tacos and 2 side dressings. $14.77 - after tip $18.00. So basically I paid $15 for 2 tacos and fries. I think I can do better and find more affordable, even Las Delicias would cost less and you get free chips/salsa.

This is like one of those spots you end up (or I do). It is great to go to if you are at Hudson Gardens or walking along the Platte. It has a super laid back vibe, live music on the weekends, and a great bar. Food is average, but you kinda go more for everything else. I would go back if in the area. It is a easy laid back spot.

Great place to meet friends! The deck is great to enjoy the day. Food is average the usual bar menu.

Well I have to say I absolutely love this place they did make a lot of changes they have a nice patio also the menu has changed a little bit very nice servers there

I am not a huge wing fan, but my boyfriend is. We heard that we had to check out Platte River Bar & Grill and have their wings, so one night we did. Dan described their wings as the perfect spice temperature. For me, they were too hot, but I am a wimp, to him they were the perfect amount of spice, but kept you wanting more. He said they still aren't his absolute favorite (i wont mention who holds his top spot) but he said Platte River Bar & Grill holds a good 2nd place. One item I personally wouldn't recommend would be their smothered green chili cheese fries. Or ask for them crispy. The fries were soggy, and there were just way too many jalapenos. Great beer selection, huge place with tons of room and parking. Right off Santa Fe so you can't miss it.

I have to say this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I ordered a Bloody Mary from the build your own bar. She came out with one from the bartender. This could have been solved very easy. She didn't want to fix it. Maybe she was sacred to ask the MOD to fix her mistake. We tried to order the 2 combination platter, she wouldn't let us order all tacos on the platter. She said you could only Oder a combination. Well tacos are one of the options so why couldn't I ordered 4?

I absolutely love this place! They have live music every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday! If you want good food and a great atmosphere, you definitely need to come here! Plus, they support a lot of good causes!
(5)
Todd M.
I have always loved this place. Live music, huge decks, lots of new area added. Food is pretty good. Pretty waitress's. It has the reputation of being a biker bar but there have always been a diverse crowed here especially in more recent years. Best place to hang out and unwind or go to see music or people watch. Meet singles or hand with friends.
(4)
John S.
The Platte is what I would call a schizophrenic bar/restaurant. Sometimes if can be real good - but most of the time servers are bad, the drinks are very overpriced and the food mediocre. Thanks to an excellent location and a loyal clientele of bikers the place is nearly always busy, especially on weekends. The place is the definition of rambling, they keep tacking on new rooms and decks. The chili rellenos are very good - and keep me coming back. Other than the rellenos the food mostly seems to be the kind of heat and serve stuff that comes in 50 lb boxes from Sysco. The beer selection is lousy and expensive for megaswill. Plenty of parking in back. On a nice afternoon it is a quick walk to the Platte River. Weird restaurant in this day and age that does not have a working website. Maybe that is reflection of its mostly older blue collar regulars.

Amazing outdoor patio, burgers, atmosphere, and you can float here on the river if you want

Good place for casual eats. It's a little confusing to navigate but once you get it down it's alright. Would be 5 stars if they revamped the entry to be level. Food was amazing! Great value for your money. So tasty and lots of food on the plate. We were sitting by the speaker so music was a little loud but bearable. Great patio area!
(4)
Alicia W.
Good was okay, chicken casear was lacking the Caesar dressing. Way too loud outside and I'm young. It's alright.... Nothing special
(3)
Jeff M.
Excellent food and service. The wait staff is friendly and fun. The decks are great in the afternoon and evening. Later evenings the fire pit is nice to hang around. The beer selection is good too.
(5)
Corey W.
Fair food nothing special, indifferent staff to grumpy. Smokers everywhere , very illegal. Could be a whole lot cleaner. No view, packed parking , you will be lucky to find a spot to park. The band left a lot to be desired, very loud. It's all just open seating so you just have to keep circling till you see someone leave to get a table.
(1)
Jahlia H.
This bar has a great atmosphere and vibe. The staff is very friendly and we received our food remarkably fast after ordering. Unfortunately the food was mediocre, I wouldn't eat here again. I ordered The Platte Nachos with Combination meat. It comes with all the usual nachos toppings, no flairs. I'm sure it is great place to go when you're not just there to eat, but if your just stopping in for lunch there are other places in the area that are better.
(2)
Marcus F.
I don't see any reason not to give 5 stars. This place was packed to the gills for UFC 184. Yet the service staff was completely on top of it! I have never seen a place so busy and the wait staff was still constantly checking in on us. The beer is super cold, and comes in GIANT mugs, and the queso dip was amazing. They gave us so much dip it lasted the entire prelims, and main card. They have found a customer for a long time in me.... I'll be watching many sporting events there.
(5)
Sherry C.
Great place! Above average food. Friendly staff! Love the massive deck. And there's always something going on from trivia, jenga, bean bag toss competition, and live music
(5)
Katrina M.
I love this place! Just as good as I remember. The Guac salad is amazing, onion rings were on point, and the beer selection is perfect. The server was the sweetest and very promt. Weill totally be back here soon for happy hour!

Janelle V.
The one star is for the hard working bands that play here.... everything else is horrible and cheap...what happened??? They have bands play until 530 but kick you out of seats at 5 if they have a reservation. They have a dj playing over the band!! Our waiter didn't know any of the beers on the list...we repeatedly had to to flag him down to order more drinks. Every girl that came to deliver orders didn't know who's they were or what they were. They forgot one of our orders...couldn't figure out what should be on what tab and then one girl brought a plate of food threw it on the table and said I'm putting this here. We walked around to our neighboring tables and found its rightful owner. The fries we ordered were horrible half smashed and almost soggy. 6 dollar cocktails aren't worth the hassle watery and half wrong ....

Great views from deck and super friendly nice staff. Came with a large group on Saturday afternoon and we were all very pleased. Food was good, better than most bars, and served very quickly. We did have a bunch of kids with us and did get the stink eye from some of the regulars but hey, that's just how it goes.
(4)
Brandi C.
This isn't a wing place but their wings are soooo good! Their smothered tots are good, burgers nachos you name it and it's all good. Not the best place for kids after 3 pm but great happy hour for adults!
(4)
Cris F.
This is just as 3 stars says it A-ok. I have gone here 3-4 times and its okay. Their food is okay and the wait staff is okay. The best thing about this place is their outside patio in the summer. The wait staff can be hit or miss. I had one girl one time when it was super busy but she stayed on top of it but then another time I went and sat by myself at the bar to watch the world series and the employees were too busy kind of having their own celebration to work and keep up. So like I said hit and miss. They are pretty good about trying to make or arrange for their menu to be vegetarian. They have some good options. Only other great thing about this place is that it is close to my house so I can walk my drunk but home.
(3)
Terri B.
The cheeseburgers are awesome and they have an excellent of beers. You got to arrive early because they get packed in here really quick. They have an outdoor patio and some good bands that play there. The staff is always awesome!!!!

Way too expensive and the food is gross.

I loved it. I had the wings and the jalapeño cream cheese burger and it was delicious. Wings were super crispy and hot sauce was spicy. The burger was great the jalapeños are actually spicy compared to most places where hey aren't. The green chili fries are great to. They have a ton of cheese and pork in them and are fabulous. They have a ton of space and the patio is HUGE. Plenty of parking for bikers and cars.
(5)
Mike B.
I like this place...good bar food...getting a little over priced but beer is still reasonable...awesome during the summer...outside patio with live music!
(4)

If you're looking for bland, mild Mexican food dropped off by a server who hates their job then you'll be in Heaven. The fight at the bar was entertaining.

I went there the other day after my stepson's baseball game with some of the other families and was very disappointed. I gave 3 stars because they have been great in the past. Sunday I ordered the shrimp basket and they were out of cocktail sauce so they give me marinara instead and don't tell me. Splitting up the check was a cluster f***. I will say the waiter, who had way too many tables he was trying to keep up with, was doing his best. You could tell he was super busy. They definitely didn't have enough staff for how busy they were. The live band was pretty awesome though!
(3)
Jeremy K.
LOUD. Couldn't have a conversation with our group at all. The shrimp was ok. Fries had no seasoning at all. Not even salt! My friends quesadilla was worse than something I could make at home and the girl's fajitas was covered in sinfully dry steak. The waitress was rude like she didn't want us there, even though the place was packed. Nothing here to get me to come back. At least the waitress had a nice rack but it didn't make up for the experience.
(1)
Don L.
As mentioned by others the food is mediocre and kind of pricey ( average meal is $12+) but you go for the atmosphere, the huge decks, the diverse crowd (when we told my teenage daughter it was a biker bar she was freaking until we clarified it is weekend warrior, weekday accountant, type bikers). Enjoy the crowd, enjoy the open air, have a beer or margarita, but don't expect anything fancy.
(3)
Arminda N.
This place has a great deck that's always good on a warm summer day or cool summer night. The patios (yes there are plural) always is full but I've been lucky enough to find a table available for between two to 6 people. They book great blues/classic rock bands that play until the night. Plus, they have tv's if my boyfriend needs to "know the score". The food isn't terrible but it isn't great. But if you're not picky it can be right up your alley. Their beer selection isn't vast, but they have 16 and 32 oz options (I always go for the 32- go big or go home, right?!) If you're looking for an easy going, chilled and relaxed night outside, the Platte a River Grill is your best bet for miles.
(4)
Scott S.
Great atmosphere and friendly service. Great happy hour with good pricing on drinks. Wish they would expand their menu with some new items. I don't like Mexican. The floor is open with many walls open to the outside. Patio is great but allows smoking so I won't sit there. Also, the smokers sitting inside step right out the door and smoke. I thought smoking had to be 15' from the building.
(3)
Tom K.
Fun place - great wings and the Papparito is awesome - servers are nice and get stuff quick - summer out on the deck is great - order the big Margarita with the beer hangout the side.

What a great place , have been going for years..it used to be a Sumner place with great patios they have added on for the summer time adventures and parties ..your able to reserve for personal gathers as well.. also find heated patios to be a great addition to enjoy in the winter months .. food good , drinks good , the staff is attentive for serving your orders promptly...a great place for entertainment on weekends have not been during a weekday.
(4)
Scott V.
Great place to enjoy the patio. This place is growing like crazy. .. they are increasing the inside space. Mexican food is good, service is usually pretty good. Skip the wings, they are hit or miss, sometimes ok, more often undercooked and rubbery. This is a great place to meet friends for the afternoon. ..

Twice in two weeks I had two different experiences. First experience was great with an attentive waitress bending ovrr backwards to have us enjoy our evening. She messed up our order but more than made up for it . We went to watch Thursday Night Football. . Fast forward 2 weeks. We are now here for wild card playoffs. We arrived pick our table according to the TVs. And everything's great until about half time all of a sudden all the TVs go to ultimate fighting our group and another table said hey what's going on. The waitress immediately changed the TV back to football. 20 minutes later the bouncer changes it back with the exception of one? Again we express our concerns but he says he's just doing what he's told? We proceed to move tables so we're not arching our necks to watch the game. There are 6 TVs in our area 4 tables are watching football and no one's really paying attention to the fighting. The waitress apologizes and we ask to send the manager over. Only to discover Taylor the manager is not even working and won't come over to our table to talk to us. what a chicken s*** now it's after 9 o'clock and there's a seven year old kid still in the bar?? Watching grown men beating each other. place has potential to be cool but it seems to cater to rednecks . Management needs to learn to balance

There is no way this place is 4.5 stars. The food came out far too quickly for it to be freshly made and the fries were just frozen and reheated fries from a local megamart. The nachos had old, canned beans on them and the cheese wasn't fully melted. Probably just popped it in the microwave. For the price, I was hoping the food would be really good, but you pay $16 for a burrito with $4 worth of ingredients. I will make it a point to never go here again.

Janet D.
We loved it! A girlfriend of mine is a great blues singer and her band performs here sometimes and she told us it was okay for kids to come. So all three families agreed to meet up for music and dinner. SO HAPPY WE DID!!! We brought 3 girls and 2 boys (2-10 years old) and they loved it, we loved it, it was a great night all around. The service was great, the chile rellanos were fantastic, and the drinks were awesome. We will definitely go back again and the owner, Pancho even stopped by our table and welcomed us personally!! He said he loves seeing kids and parents have a great time!!

Service is non existent, 40 minutes to get a server. "Oh it's not my area", ok but send another server over. Terrible attitude from the staff.
(1)
Perry L.
I will say that the outside area is nice and I would enjoy coming here for drinks and to hang out. There food and service for our group lunch however were not good. The servers don't smile and don't have any personality. Don't expect to be checked up on and don't expect them to care about empty drinks. The food is pathetic. The chips and salsa were bagged chips and store bought salsa. The guacamole was not home made and was not good. I had the Platte smothered burrito with shredded beef. The beef was chewy and full of grease and just had a weird taste. The rest of my group only ate part of their meals and we did not ask for boxes. I might give this place a chance for drinks only to hang out on the deck however I'm sure the service won't be good.
(1)
Amos L.
Remarkably terrible service. Ordered an Effen cucumber with water and she gave me a captain with water. I repeated my order and the bartender walked away to eat her food at the other end of the bar. Food was not worth the price by any means.

We came early on a Saturday between games in a youth baseball tournament. Crowding and thin wait staffing wasn't a problem. In fact, service was very good and attentive. As others have pointed out, the food came out ridiculously fast. Admittedly, I don't like waiting 45 min for a burger but the burger and quesadilla came out in literally 5 min. There is no way it could have been cooked that fast. Regardless, good bar food - no complaints.
(3)
Stephanie D.
The first time I went here, I almost never came back. The bartender Danielle was so rude and ignored me when I sat down and laid money on the bar. Instead, she helped all the men that came up to the bar before she even acknowledged me 10 minutes later. I recently went back to The Platte and was pleasantly surprised with phenomenal service from our friendly and charismatic server, Caity. The patio was empty late one Sunday night and my friends wanted to dance. Caity turned up the music and made room for a dance floor for us. She was an awesome addition to our evening :) I will definitely return to see Caity any night of the week!
(4)
Lina S.
Food not so great, The chicken on my salad was so soft it had the texture of raw tofu. Disgusting.. The bartender told me it's because they steam their chicken. Who steams chicken?! Just grill it. Weird.
(2)
Dani D.
Awesome hangout. The food looked great but we didn't come for the food. The large beer was more like a pitcher! Defintely a biker bar, today anyway! Would love to come back one day.

For the most part, Platte River is a standard roadside bar. There are two things about this place that stand out for me. First - the size. There is far more room than you'd expect seeing it from the outside, or even from inside the front door. The main room is pretty cramped, but there is a "game room" off to the side behind the bar, and a huge back room with another bar where you can enjoy more space. There's also a large patio in the back for warm nights. Second - I have been here many times and have always been impressed by the friendliness of the staff. They really make an impression with the way they interact with the customers. So there's the good. There isn't any bad, the drinks and fare are what you would expect, nothing outstanding in either direction. But I'm giving 4 stars for the service. Cheers!
(4)
Peter P.
I've been coming to this place since 2005 and I may have had bad experiences in the past but clearly those bad experiences have not been enough to keep me from coming back and not putting 5 stars down now. Lately though the service has been outstanding and the food has been great. The mini rellanos and the paparito are amazing! I hope they keep these two items on the menu. Also the deck is amazing!

I met a friend here for some drinks and appetizers last week and I was shocked at how busy this place was... on a Thursday at that! I also didn't realize how big it really is. From driving by and not really paying attention, you can't really tell. But once you walk in totally different story. Oh and a massive parking lot behind restaurant too. My friend beat me there, so she ordered a round for us and also ordered some chips and queso. The chips were alright, but that queso dip is like crack. Neither one of us could stop eating it - even when we knew we should. They appear to have a decent sized menu as well, and it seemed like there was quite a bit of Mexican food on there. Our waiter was nice and attentive (and totally adorbs...) and we didn't have to flag him down once for more drinks or chips to feed our crack addiction. Cold Beer - check Cute Waiter - check Awesome time with a good friend - check. All in all it was a good night and will be back the next time I am on that side of town!

This is a cool little bar along south Santa Fe with a great outdoor patio that seems to have more space than the inside of the bar. Saying that it is large is an understatement; it's multitiered and has a ton of seating areas. You can arrive with a large group and almost be guaranteed to find a seat for everyone. They a have a nice menu and cold beer. I didn't have any food on this first trip here, but the menu and the food around me looked good. The service is friendly and prompt. You won't ever have to wait for a drink or to order up some food. There's more than enough parking and they're biker friendly so they have a lot of bike parking right up front. If you're coming back into town from a cruise down south or in the neighborhood, stop on in for a cold one and a bite to eat.

Do not leave a coat or sweater there. The staff members will steal it. My boyfriend left his coat there. He called the very next morning and a staff member confirmed the coat was there. My boyfriend let the staff member know that he was traveling for work that day and would be gone a few weeks. She promised it would be there. A couple weeks later, I went in to get the coat and it mysteriously disappeared. The bar staff member assisting me said he'd speak with the restaurant staff and locate the coat. He assured me that he would call me or my boyfriend - he never did. I'll never return to this shady bar.

Pretty awesome little joint right off Santa Fe. We only came for drinks (and the shot skis), but hoping to try the food this summer. The staff was super friendly and prices were very reasonable. We were there late on a Sunday night, so not sure what the normal crowd is like. We had a good time on their off-peak hours, though!
(4)
Jenny C.
We came here one night after a concert. They weren't too busy, which was nice. There were some people playing poker in the front room. We decided to go to the back area and sit on the deck. They had the doors open to let the summer air in. Our waitress was friendly and provided good service. I was able to make changes to my burger without a hassle, which was nice. I had the jalapeno cream cheese burger with half fries and half onion rings. Everything was cooked perfectly. The ranch was good, too. If we're every in the area sans kids again, we'll be sure to come back here.

Great place for a party. Too bad the weather was crappy or we would have been on the new deck. Service was great. Margaritas were tasty but never did feel a buzz. Chips are good but salsa too runny for my liking. Beef quesidillas were pretty good. I would love to go back on a nice day and sit on deck and watch a sunset. Kinda far from home but when did that stop me?

Platte River Bar & Grill is my all-time favorite summertime spot. If you can get a table on the back patio, you can easily waste away a summer afternoon enjoying cold beer, good food, and watching all the bikers (and bicyclers) rolling in. You can get to the South Platte River path just through their parking lot, so you can make a pit stop when you're biking the path, a big plus! I've heard they do a lot of fun events (music, trivia, etc) but to me it's a summertime lunch place... and that's good enough for me. When you pull in this place will look packed, but don't let that scare you as we've never had a problem finding a table. The food is bar food, yes, but it's really, really good bar food. My favorites are the burgers and the chicken quesadilla. Summer is short in Colorado, so if you haven't checked out the Platte River Bar & Grill - go now! Once you visit, you'll want to get a few more trips in before the weather changes.

19.00 for a bottle of coors light and an order of wings. Very nice deck but the food and beverage is way overpriced..

The sunset views off the enormous ever growing deck are some of the best in Southwest Denver! We have been going here for over 20 years when there was a tiny deck out back. This is a no frills place that has cold beer and decent food at a reasonable price. The green chile is very good and a bit different than served anywhere else. The menu has changed since I was last there and was disappointed that the mini tacos were no longer on the menu. We were also not liking the pound of red bell peppers that came in the chicken burrito. Yuck. I have always enjoyed the live music on the deck, too!

One of the best patios..Place is always pack and has a good vibe/atmosphere. Chris was my server 4/27/13 and was awesome. He did everything he can to make the experience good. With the place packed and no seats he still dropped what he was doing to get me small stuff such has ketchup. Also kept the drinks full which was great. Food is good. Had the rellenos which were good but I'll try something new next time. It all looks pretty good. Motorcycles coming and going can get loud but its cool. I can see some people maybe not liking it though? Once you're there you'll understand though..its all apart of the atmosphere.

Wonderful Staff and entertaining activities!!! Started to come here just for the poker games on Mondays... Then... after a year or so I am what you can call a regular. Either your interest is poker, live bands, beerpong, trivia, etc... this is a laid back bar that anyone could enjoy.

As a transplant from S. Florida and only two weeks in Colorado it was recommended to me to stop at Platte River. I have to give a double heads up to the whole staff. Very friendly and made me feel welcome. The establishment is awesome ... It has the homey small town feeling with a great atmosphere and a huge outside patio. However, if your over 6' 2" watch your head as to navigate around, low ceiling height. Overall double thumbs up!

I go for the ambience, not the food. Large deck and adding another. Band usually playing. Nice place to grab a bite to eat in an outdoor setting.

Was here fixing their beer. It was my first time there and the wait staff was extremely curious and helpful to show me where the problem was and where the keg cooler was. The patio was packed and everyone there was having a great time. Keep it up

More of a towny bar but delicious food (guacamole BLT wrap was amazing) and excellent service, Brenda was our waitress and she served the best service I have ever had since living in Colorado. Attentive, friendly, great suggestions as always around when we needed a fresh beer.

Fun patio in the summer and surprisingly good Mexican food. However, their hamburgers are basically the equivalent of cardboard on a bun. I left half of it even though I was still hungry.

Fun place, lots of busy activity, great service, live music...Mexican gringo fare. Ate on outside deck with shade from cottonwoods. Quite an on tap selection, interesting decor. Recommend it for very casual lunch, listen to local bands.

always have a great time, great music, food is good, drinks and fun this is where we go.. normal prices very busy, sundays always fun..you can book a party here and have a really nice deck to enjoy your friends /guests..

Their motto is "come sit on our big deck" and the deck does not disappoint! It is one of the largest in metro Denver, is well shaded, and offers some nice views of the mountains. I can't think of a better place to enjoy the beautiful weather we are having. The crowd at Platte River is also one of the most diverse you will find in Denver. Everything form yuppies to little old ladies to grizzly Harley dudes and biker chicks. The best part is everyone coexists very well, gets along, and has a great time at this very relaxed establishment. The place is usually crowded, is seat yourself, and the servers work hard, but can't always keep up with demand so be patient. The menu is typical bar fare. They do some good burgers, but the appetizers are probably your best choice. The hot wings are awesome! Drink prices are fair and their large margaritas are really good. They usually have live music on weekends and it is a great place to people watch so kick back and enjoy yourself.
(4)

Their motto should be "come empty your wallet on our mediocre food'. I like the overall atmosphere of this place, and they do have the largest outdoor area of any bar in south Denver. However, I don't think I've ever had a meal here that I really enjoyed. This place is good for drinks (albeit overpriced drinks).

I really like this place for drinkys. Cold mugs for the beer is a plus. Also, they are really large. (The large ones, anyhow.) Oh, and they're open till 1:40am... which is great for a Night Owl in a town that shuts down at 9pm. The patio is awesome. Big, huge trees growing up in it, which led me to call this place "The Treehouse" before I remembered the name. They have good prices on drink specials, themed nights (most recently it was "Retro Night" and that was a blast.) and lots of "Character" (In the form of bikers!) Really, though, is there any substitute for sitting out under the stars on a balmy colorado night with a cold beer? What more do you need?

It was nice to sit outside, and there weren't too many smokers that made me regret it. I ordered a relleno plate and my guy had a chicken wrap. He said his wrap was really good, I kind of regretted my choice in entree. Not the best I've had, not the worst. The rice could be best described as "white" Mexican and the green chile was nothing special. I had a couple of long islands before the band got started playing and was happy I had finished most of my meal before they started singing. We got there before the crowd started but it seems to be a pretty busy place. They have an incredible amount of servers here, I saw like 5 or 6 different people come to my table while were there which you think would mean we would get checked on more often but not so much. Maybe because it's a mostly outdoor place the servers are a little more laid back, I'm not sure...

An old, but favorite, stomping ground. Used to be a traditional old biker-bar (which I loved) and they've mananged to keep that crowd as well as add the more yupster crowd. Updated decks, seating, etc. with a great menu and really fun staff make this a must haunt!

Great atmosphere... Had a wrap and was suprised how good it was... great fries too! Sat on the tailgate couch... :)

I really like this place. The outdoor seating is fantastic (weather permitting); the live music is usually right up my alley, very enjoyable. The drinks are more hit than hit-and-miss, and the food is definitely decent. This isn't fancy food by any stretch; Platte River Bar & Grill is a biker hang out with a correspondingly relatable menu. I've had the buffalo burger which was actually quite good. The nachos and quesadillas are good, filling bar food (the nachos are BIG). Regular burgers are yummy. Even though Platte River Bar & Grill boasts a healthy biker draw, there are lots of other types that congregate as well: families, singles, barflies, you name it. Makes the people-watching interesting. Staff has never been less than great. Very friendly, fast, attentive. I definitely recommend this for anyone looking to hang out, have good drinks and decent food --- or, in other words, have a good old time.

Prices are high, food is mediocre, but hey, there's lots of room to park your bike on the rare occasion it leaves your heated garage and you feel like playing dress-up.

We ate here last Sunday. We were enthusiastically greeted by the waitstaff. We both had burgers. The kitchen screwed up one order but it was promptly fixed. The burgers were very good, but the potato chips and french fries were not great. Both the chips and fries seemed a little overprocessed. Over all I would come back. I would like to try their happy hour.

4 stars in the spring/summer time! Yummy food and beer! and bikes too! Nothing like a stud on a bike.

I have been going o PRB off and on for the past 20 years. I can say, no mas. The food is terrible. They have cut back on their draft beer selection to just two flavors. Both lite. Truly disappointed. I use to really like this place .

The patio is always fun and the staff is always very friendly! They are accommodating and remember you when they see you. The food quality is always solid- not necessarily stellar, but the atmosphere is enough to keep me coming back.

This is a huge place that's recently expanded their outdoor deck. I went on a Friday night to meet a very large group of thirsty volleyball players prior to playing a tournament the next day. (gotta hydrate, right?) The service on an unbelievably busy night was quite good on the deck. They had a live cover band that was pretty good. I don't know about the beer selection as I only ordered my staple of Breckenridge Avalanche. Overall a decent joint that I'd probably visit a bit more if I lived in the area.

I CAN"T believe they DON"T have Guinness here!!!!! Best patio experience ever wether it's summer or winter. Food is good and the service has always been friendly and good for me. I've heard some complain about the service but they were high maintenance impatient people. There's motorcycle parking right out front that keeps me coming back. There's a kick ass fire pit! It's my fav place to go in Littleton...even though there's no Guinness dammit!

This place SUCKS eggs. Food was bad, service was horrid. It was a busy day, but it still took over an hour to get our food. Half the orders were wrong too. I will not return here again. In fact, I will go out of my way not to go to this place.

Platte River Bar & Grill - A Haiku After Softball Games Hit the spot with cold beer and Tacos al Carbon For years now Platte River Bar & Grill, or "The Platte" as we lovingly refer, has been a solid member of the rotation. Be it a business lunch, a post softball drink or a cold one after a ride down the river, the Platte aims to serve. The perfect mix of dive bar and local love. The waitstaff is friendly, although they are more than willing to bust your balls. The food is very solid and the drinks are fairly priced. But the thing that puts the Platte over the top? The Deck. The massive expanse of outdoor seating open year round. A perfect place to enjoy great food and the one of a kind Colorado weather. My favorite dish is the Combination Tacos al Carbon. Trust me on this. They are great. Wash them down with an ice cold bucket of Corona and you have the perfect way to celebrate the best Coed Rec E softball team in Colorado's latest victory! (or whatever your equivalent is)

The food is so-so, but this is a fantastic little spot for a cocktail. Been here for late night drinks with friends from work. The prices are great and there is never a problem finding a table. Grabbed lunch here with mom on a Friday afternoon. This place is frequented by motorcyclists on nice days and the patio is great for groups. Even when the weather isn't so great, they cover the patio, so you can still sit out there. Had the fajita burrito. It was ok, good for pub grub. I wouldn't recommend this place for dinner, but afternoon/evening drinks with friends, this is the spot.

I give this place a 4 star mainly because of the patio...it is huge! It seems like it wraps around very corner of the place and is perfect for listening to some tunes. The food is OK...I would probably give them a 3 star if it weren't for the patio. If you want a beer on a patio though, this is the place to go!

We had heard about Platte River Bar & Grill and thought it was perfect for an outside lunch after an early movie. We were right! Ice cold Pacifico, college football on, laid back atmosphere. My husband really enjoyed his patty melt on sourdough, and my ham and american melt on sourdough was also delicious. Quick too! I would have liked the fried to be a little more crispy on the outside, and of course we forgot to ask for a side of ranch! Overall, its a quick cab ride from there to our house, which is what the 4 stars are for.....in case we decide to partake in their vast amount of shot concoctions! Cheers!

CamStar rating of Bonanza! Where to start... So much good stuff to talk about. First off, don't let the abundance of Harley Davidsons veer you away. This is a must visit for anyone on a sunny day looking to enjoy the best patio on Santa Fe. Food is excellent and the service is stellar! Hands down Pancho and the crew provide the best patio bar experience. The Platte has events going in all week with great drink specials. From trivia Tuesdays, a unique and challenging experience brought to you in a fun and engaging format that is great for anyone looking to test their knowledge. Also if you like poker be sure to join Franky D's weekly poker tournament.

I used to LOVE this place but sadly, those days are over. My boyfriend and I went in last night for dinner and were completely ignored by the staff. Several waiters saw us waiting to be greeted and served and then simply turned the other way. We waited 15 minutes before we left, without even being acknowledged. It was completely disrespectful and downright rude treatment. I did not appreciate such treatment after years of being such a loyal customer. We are done going to the Platte River Bar and Grill.

Great place for patio sitting and sipping. The fajita burrito was good, a little greasy, but a large portion. The service was great, very friendly.

"Meh" about sums it up. I called a few days in advance to reserve space for 35-40 people to have a post-major-event dining & drinking time, and when I arrived our tables were ready for us. Unfortunately, that's about all that was ready for us. They were out of shrimp, which put a bit of a damper on 1/2 of their appetizer menu. Considering it was the first real summer-like weekend of the season and they were packed to the gills with patrons, one would think they'd have plenty of shrimp at only 3pm, but whatever. Our server, while being very nice, seemed a bit few & far between with his visits to accomodate us (and yes, we had one server for 30 of us). It took approximately 15 minutes for me to be able to order my drink, and our chips came to the table sans salsa, so that made for some pretty dry app time. It's a great and comfortable roadhouse feel - patios & decks with a mix of live and radio music - so I was disappointed to find the service for a large party somewhat lacking. Must think twice before bringing a group here again.

Take a letter. Dear Platte. Where do you get off? Part of a balanced diet AND delicious? Who do you think you are? By now, you may have guessed I am speaking ironically and have nothing but good things to say about what you do. Platte River Bar & Grill, do not change a thing. Seriously though, for a quasi-dive bar, this is a pretty good spot. Buckets of beer and a porch...what can I say. I am easy to please

Ross D.
This place is GREAT! Great food, great music, lots of great energy. Went there with some friends from my wife's office for a going away party. Great spot! Had a monster margarita, and some favorite beers. I had a great "biker burger" with cream cheese and jalapenos (really). My wife had a great tamale. Lots of food, great deal for the money. First time, but not our last.
(4)
Nick B.
I always feel a little ripped off when we leave this place. I think its over priced. However, I keep coming back because it's close, I like the patio, and the food is actually pretty tasty. I thought the kids menu in paticular was complete robbery last time we ate there. On our last outing unfortunately there were about ten flies hanging around our table. They should get some fly paper and lower the prices a bit.
(2)
Shane O.
Awesome pub grub, buckets of cold beer, great people watching on the deck? I'm a fan... I've never been disappointed with the food, nor have I ever been disappointed by the beer....errrr...service...not a place to find guys prancing around with pepper mills, so don't be disappointed if you don't get a chilled salad fork ok?
(4)
i n.
This place is great for the patio and views. The people watching can be amaizing also. One night I saw an old lady walking around with assless chaps. She tried dancing with me and I told her to go away then I got slapped and she said "no one turns down Big Momma"! Where else can you see crazies like this! The service is allways awesome and they actually have 1 litre beers so you don't have to order constantly if you want to get a little tipsy. The food is great for bar food also!

I've sampled the booze and food at the "Platte" for twenty years. A little remodeling now and again, deck expansion, parking lot expansion, more tv's, bigger bathrooms, etc. but the Platte still stays the same...GREAT! This is a locals pub, a biker pub, a pedal bikers pub, a sport team pub, and an excellent place to visit if you are from out of town. The views of the Rockies are outstanding. If you are in Littleton it is worth the stop...cold beer, good bar food and lots to look at. Their buffalo burgers are my fav.

Nightowl O.
I used to really like this place but recently they have really started catering to yuppies and the prices have gone sky high. Used to be a place to go have a beer and enjoy the summer nights on the deck but now it seems to be all show and has turned into a big dissapointment for me and my friends. Not someplace we spend much time at anymore :(
(2)
Wyatt H.
I've been here plenty over the years and I like it. I'm not a huge fan of the food, but I do like happy hour, hanging on the patio and playing poker there. I find it to be a fun atmosphere on any night and I do like the staff.

Went here today and will never be back again. Beer? It's beer, you can't really mess that up. Food? Edible. I could make better and I cannot cook. Patio? Nice, but a patio is a patio regardless of how many people you smash in it. Service? The absolute worst I've encountered. I think our waitress was drunk, she overcharged us $10, it took us 30 minutes to get our check, just not a pleasant experience... No matter how busy you are act like you give a sh*t. Also, happy hour is a wash (or said waitress didn't give us a discount).
(1)
Amanda M.
I'd give the deck 5 stars, but the food was a 3. I've only been there once so I'll give them another try, and just not order the tamales. Everyone else I was with said their food was good. The deck is amazing though, and it's the perfect place to have a drink and enjoy the summer evenings. I felt like I was on vacation at the beach. The service was good too.
(4)
David S.
No colors policy means that I can't go here anymore. That sucks! They have a pretty great patio on the back, but if I can't go in the front, I can't get in the back. Change your policy to allow colors, and I will return.

This place is great. They food is always good. We've been going there on some Sundays to catch some football. They have huge HD TVs hung on the walls and smaller TVs in the corners. I've had their burgers and their chicken sandwiches and both are great. One Sunday, I had their tamale plate. It was good. The fresh pico with fresh jalapenos is so good with just enough spice. I just had their chicken burrito and was surprised to find it stuffed with all white meat. It was delicious smothered in their green chili. They have a huge patio so it's a great place to stop after riding your bike on the Santa Fe trail. The hummingbirds stop by and drink from the beautiful baskets of flowers along the patio edges.

I've been to this place a few times and I'm still not sure what the rave is about. Went this evening and had the pleasure of being wait on by a waitress who has worked there for 18 yrs and essentially told us we had to use their ATM to get cash to pay our bill because she refused to take more than 2 credit cards from our party.

This place is fantastic. The food is great and they have quite the variety. My friends and I went here after a day of floating the river and it was just what we needed. We sat on the huge patio and enjoyed the live band they had playing. I had the buffalo reuben with onion rings (yum) and fries, margaritas and nachos for an appetizer. Everything was delicious and the service was great as well. We'll be back =)

Always heard good things about this place so was dying to try it. We had a Restaurant.com gift cert here so decided to try it out on a Tuesday night when it wasn't too busy. Place is HUGE, bigger inside than it shows on the outside. The vibe is cool and laid back. It was even trivia night which I think we will go back to participate in. The food was delicious! We all got burgers and I opted for the Chile Cheese Fries. All cooked well and tasted great. I had an awesome drink too - I think my new FAV - a Grape Mojito which tasted just like a grape limeade (my FAV drink from Sonic) so a grown up version. The only gripe I have about this place was our server - didn't even catch his name, if he ever said it. He made us feel like we were wasting his time not knowing what we wanted to drink or eat right away. Maybe he was just having an off hour or maybe he knew an 18% tip was included in our gift cert so didn't care IDK but lacking customer service is one of my biggest pet peeves. I would have given this place a 4 star review but his lack of pleasantness knocked it down a star. I'll be back but won't be sitting in that section again - just in case.

This has to be one of the busiest, most popular bars in the Littleton area for the last several years. The food menu isn't very diverse but if you're looking for good bar food, it'll do. I think the Platte's best asset is it's huge deck / patio. It's covered, has it's own bar, TVs, and is heated during the colder seasons. The service is always average, at best. The Platte always has live bands and other special events. Their website is maintained regularly, and I would recommend checking it out before showing up. It sucks to show up on "Live Trivia Night" or "Open Mic Night" when all you want to do is go for drinks, conversation, and playing some tunes on the juke-box.

We came here for beers and appetizers recently and it was a nice little bar. Great views and all the staff seemed very nice. The nachos were great and they had a wide selection of beers to choose from. That's the way to go!
(4)Tracy T.
(3)Brian H.
(5)Carly P.
(5)Kaleigh C.
Huge awesome patio, good food, good beer. Tons of parking and even biker specific spots. Awesome place to spend the afternoon on that patio with your friends, drink beer and maybe watch some sports.
(4)Shana G.
(2)Jessica J.
(3)Dyan S.
Great place to meet friends! The deck is great to enjoy the day. Food is average the usual bar menu.
(3)Denise R.
Well I have to say I absolutely love this place they did make a lot of changes they have a nice patio also the menu has changed a little bit very nice servers there
(3)Kyla S.
(3)Jason S.
(2)Stephanie E.
I absolutely love this place! They have live music every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday! If you want good food and a great atmosphere, you definitely need to come here! Plus, they support a lot of good causes!
(5)Todd M.
(4)John S.
(2)Smilie G.
Amazing outdoor patio, burgers, atmosphere, and you can float here on the river if you want
(4)Shelby C.
(4)Alicia W.
Good was okay, chicken casear was lacking the Caesar dressing. Way too loud outside and I'm young. It's alright.... Nothing special
(3)Jeff M.
Excellent food and service. The wait staff is friendly and fun. The decks are great in the afternoon and evening. Later evenings the fire pit is nice to hang around. The beer selection is good too.
(5)Corey W.
(1)Jahlia H.
(2)Marcus F.
(5)Sherry C.
Great place! Above average food. Friendly staff! Love the massive deck. And there's always something going on from trivia, jenga, bean bag toss competition, and live music
(5)Katrina M.
I love this place! Just as good as I remember. The Guac salad is amazing, onion rings were on point, and the beer selection is perfect. The server was the sweetest and very promt. Weill totally be back here soon for happy hour!
(5)Janelle V.
(1)Dana W.
Great views from deck and super friendly nice staff. Came with a large group on Saturday afternoon and we were all very pleased. Food was good, better than most bars, and served very quickly. We did have a bunch of kids with us and did get the stink eye from some of the regulars but hey, that's just how it goes.
(4)Brandi C.
This isn't a wing place but their wings are soooo good! Their smothered tots are good, burgers nachos you name it and it's all good. Not the best place for kids after 3 pm but great happy hour for adults!
(4)Cris F.
(3)Terri B.
The cheeseburgers are awesome and they have an excellent of beers. You got to arrive early because they get packed in here really quick. They have an outdoor patio and some good bands that play there. The staff is always awesome!!!!
(5)Ang H.
Way too expensive and the food is gross.
(2)Shelby M.
(5)Mike B.
I like this place...good bar food...getting a little over priced but beer is still reasonable...awesome during the summer...outside patio with live music!
(4)Linda M.
If you're looking for bland, mild Mexican food dropped off by a server who hates their job then you'll be in Heaven. The fight at the bar was entertaining.
(2)Paul L.
(3)Jeremy K.

(3)Arminda N.
(4)Scott S.
(3)Tom K.
Fun place - great wings and the Papparito is awesome - servers are nice and get stuff quick - summer out on the deck is great - order the big Margarita with the beer hangout the side.
(4)Sam R.
(4)Scott V.

(2)Seth L.
(1)Janet D.
(5)Peter J.
Service is non existent, 40 minutes to get a server. "Oh it's not my area", ok but send another server over. Terrible attitude from the staff.
(1)Perry L.
(1)Amos L.
Remarkably terrible service. Ordered an Effen cucumber with water and she gave me a captain with water. I repeated my order and the bartender walked away to eat her food at the other end of the bar. Food was not worth the price by any means.
(1)Ethan C.
(3)Stephanie D.
(4)Lina S.
Food not so great, The chicken on my salad was so soft it had the texture of raw tofu. Disgusting.. The bartender told me it's because they steam their chicken. Who steams chicken?! Just grill it. Weird.
(2)Dani D.
Awesome hangout. The food looked great but we didn't come for the food. The large beer was more like a pitcher! Defintely a biker bar, today anyway! Would love to come back one day.
(4)Jeff S.
Cheers!
(4)Peter P.
(5)Erin S.
(4)Larren M.
(4)Tish M.
(1)Amanda E.
(4)Jenny C.
(4)Michelle A.
(4)Christina E.
(4)Culinary H.
19.00 for a bottle of coors light and an order of wings. Very nice deck but the food and beverage is way overpriced..
(1)Duane M.
(4)Carmen S.
I found my home!!! My people!!! Food was great! I didn't want to leave. Great atmosphere! Great people! Great Fun!
(4)Steven Z.
(4)Clarence S.
Wonderful Staff and entertaining activities!!! Started to come here just for the poker games on Mondays... Then... after a year or so I am what you can call a regular. Either your interest is poker, live bands, beerpong, trivia, etc... this is a laid back bar that anyone could enjoy.
(5)John M.
Hands down some of the best steak taco's I've ever had! Service is great, friendly staff and Entertainment all the time! I Love the trivia!
(5)Tom Z.
(4)J C.
I go for the ambience, not the food. Large deck and adding another. Band usually playing. Nice place to grab a bite to eat in an outdoor setting.
(3)Branson G.
Was here fixing their beer. It was my first time there and the wait staff was extremely curious and helpful to show me where the problem was and where the keg cooler was. The patio was packed and everyone there was having a great time. Keep it up
(4)Melanie M.
More of a towny bar but delicious food (guacamole BLT wrap was amazing) and excellent service, Brenda was our waitress and she served the best service I have ever had since living in Colorado. Attentive, friendly, great suggestions as always around when we needed a fresh beer.
(4)Marc B.
Fun patio in the summer and surprisingly good Mexican food. However, their hamburgers are basically the equivalent of cardboard on a bun. I left half of it even though I was still hungry.
(3)John M.
Fun place, lots of busy activity, great service, live music...Mexican gringo fare. Ate on outside deck with shade from cottonwoods. Quite an on tap selection, interesting decor. Recommend it for very casual lunch, listen to local bands.
(4)Karri R.
always have a great time, great music, food is good, drinks and fun this is where we go.. normal prices very busy, sundays always fun..you can book a party here and have a really nice deck to enjoy your friends /guests..
(4)Frank K.
(4)Abe M.
(2)Jamie L.
(4)Cass D.
(3)Stephanie C.
An old, but favorite, stomping ground. Used to be a traditional old biker-bar (which I loved) and they've mananged to keep that crowd as well as add the more yupster crowd. Updated decks, seating, etc. with a great menu and really fun staff make this a must haunt!
(5)Crystal S.
Great atmosphere... Had a wrap and was suprised how good it was... great fries too! Sat on the tailgate couch... :)
(4)Crys A.
(4)Jeremy C.
Prices are high, food is mediocre, but hey, there's lots of room to park your bike on the rare occasion it leaves your heated garage and you feel like playing dress-up.
(3)Cindy D.
(3)Lena M.
4 stars in the spring/summer time! Yummy food and beer! and bikes too! Nothing like a stud on a bike.
(4)Mike S.
I have been going o PRB off and on for the past 20 years. I can say, no mas. The food is terrible. They have cut back on their draft beer selection to just two flavors. Both lite. Truly disappointed. I use to really like this place .
(1)Jill D.
The patio is always fun and the staff is always very friendly! They are accommodating and remember you when they see you. The food quality is always solid- not necessarily stellar, but the atmosphere is enough to keep me coming back.
(4)Terry B.
(3)Dana C.
(5)Heidi F.

(or whatever your equivalent is)
(4)Mo C.
(4)Stacy T.
I give this place a 4 star mainly because of the patio...it is huge! It seems like it wraps around very corner of the place and is perfect for listening to some tunes. The food is OK...I would probably give them a 3 star if it weren't for the patio. If you want a beer on a patio though, this is the place to go!
(4)Renee W.
Cheers!
(4)Cam B.

(1)Robin W.
Great place for patio sitting and sipping. The fajita burrito was good, a little greasy, but a large portion. The service was great, very friendly.
(4)Rachel M.
(2)Josh P.
(3)Ross D.
(4)Nick B.
(2)Shane O.
(4)i n.
(5)Robert H.
(4)Nightowl O.

I love the platte river bar and grill. Great food, great drink, great price. The staff is amazing and makes the experiance so much fun. It is my favorite bar around.
