The last time was dine in. The place was/is dirty. However, I just returned from Rhode Island..long flight...I want Mexican. This time I called it in. The guy on the phone did a great job of taking my order and assuring me my order would be ready. I walked in and the place is still dirty. There is a scrub bucket with dirty water as I walk in. The smell completely permeates the air. It's like dirty pinesol..that's been used to scrub dirt and grease. Do these people not have a clue that people want to smell food and not pinesol. Now, the reason they get a 4 star is that the guy on the phone was great and even though I waited for just a few minutes, the food was good , hot and just what I asked for. And...I didn't have to eat it there. I know I know. ..the kitchen is more than likely dirty too...gross to think about. Too bad the owners don't care about the disgusting state of the place. It could be a nice little place. From now on...call it in.

Fast service, the food is hot, the beer is cold. It's perfect and there's never a wait to be seated.

This location was closed for a while, not sure if it has a new owner or not. Service is decent and the food is average. The low prices were what brought us back, but it appears upon re-opening the prices have went up. Given the prices, there are better options in my opinion,

I had lunch here with my husband and we were able to get served, finish our meals, and pay within 30 minutes so that was nice. The food was kind of so-so. Not bad, not great. The green chile here is very mild and not terribly flavorful. I think I got a chile relleno and enchilada combo, which were both covered in green chile. Pretty standard cafeteria-style Mexican restaurant stuff. This place is alright for a fast and cheap meal, and I feel like I'll end up back eating here again solely because there are not very many other places to eat in the immediate vicinity. I wouldn't go out of my way to have a meal here though.

Good service, but food wasn't very impressive. Was disappointed - lots of better Mexican food in the area. Had the enchiladas and the sauce was mediocre, tortillas were too thick or not cooked enough. Not sure which, just not good.

We've been going here for 3 years as it's close to our house. We dine in and get take-out and have always gotten a hot and filling meal until a month ago. We got take-out in April and I received a ground beef burrito when I asked for a bean burrito. Tonight one thing on our order had the wrong meat in it, 2 meals didn't have rice and beans on the side and my husband didn't get his order at all. When he went to pick it up, he saw our order on the computer screen and everything had been put in correctly, so I guess it's the kitchen that is having issues?? Disappointed and probably won't be back. Too bad as we ate there once a month.

I tried this place again today after many years and thought it was actually pretty good. The chips and salsa were delicious, and the nachos were quite good. I've got to go back and try the queso fundido.

My wife and I love this place. We actually had our first date at the Golden El Senor Sol (I know, real fancy) and have been going to this one since it was originally located at Pierce and Coal Mine. Their burrito sampler and pregnant burrito are both the best in town. Their green chili is absolutely fantastic and the service is speedy and polite. You would never believe how fast your food comes out, yet how fresh it tastes. In all, this is a perfect place to bring kids and the best Mexican in Denver.

This is the worst Mexican restaurant EVER! Why, you ask? Because there was a ROCK in my food!!!! Are you kidding me?! It all started a few years back. This place had just opened, so we tried it out and were pleasantly surprised to find that the food tasted pretty good. We went back a few times and then on my forth visit, I only ate half of my huge chicken burrito and took the other half home. A few hours later, I decided to devour the rest of the burrito and commenced with eating again. This was going well until I felt something super hard in my mouth. I figured it was a bone, but upon further inspection is was a ROCK! Luckily, I didn't bite down too hard or else I would have been visiting the dentist. I don't know if my burrito fell on the floor or what, but I hope that this place goes out of business. You've been warned.

Believe it or not we went to this place based on the review from TO who got a rock in her burrito. Living on the western edge of town and sick of driving into Littleton for dinner, we were in a hurry and tried El Senor Sol. I had the steak burrito with extra spicy green chile and you know what, it was just fine. The steak was good and came with a ton of refried beans. It's not fancy, just your typical americanized mexican food. Reminded me of a lot of places in the midwest. Lots of beans, lots of cheese. All said it's a decent place for a burrito if you don't want to drive to your favorite joint.

My favorite Mexican restaurant! They have the friendliest staff you'll ever meet! I used to be a regular when I lived in the area. After not going for almost a year, I went back in the waitress still remembered my usual order (breakfast burrito with bacon and chorizo and a chili relleno on the side). The Bloody Marys are pretty spicy and are by far my favorite bloodys of anywere I go! The burritos amazing! Free chips and salsa don't hurt either. Get a burrito and a bloody Mary while hungover! I wouldn't steer you wrong! 100% guaranteed hangover helper!

Have tried this place twice now - the first time the food was so salty that it was almost inedible. I went back because due to snow I didn't really want to drive far and had a hankering for Mexican. I ordered the Enchiladas suizas and they arrived in about 2 minutes, which to me is a bad sign because chances are good that they have pre-prepared food and shove it in a microwave. I believe that this was the case for my food, but unfortunately they didn't microwave it long enough. The enchiladas were lukewarm on the inside and upon opening them up there was a small amount of unmelted shredded cheese. No onions although the Enchiladas suizas are advertised to come with them. Finally, they were served with a very small amount of sour cream and guacamole that had a portion which had turned brown. You would think they could at least scrape the brown off before serving it. During the meal, I could hear the kitchen staff singing and shouting which normally wouldn't bother me if they took their cooking seriously. Unfortunately that is not the case which just added insult to injury as I ate their undercooked, onion-less enchiladas. I would give this one star but the server was at least friendly and the atmosphere is ok.

Horrible service. Very slow. When you first sit down there is one bus boy to take drink orders for the whole place. He messed up our order both times we were here and is very unfriendly. He acts like he could care less about customers. Then a regular waiter will take your order and you are on your own after that. She brought my fiancé a Margarita frozen instead of on the rocks. We asked her to fix it and she said she would but would have to charge full price for a new one. Her mistake and we pay 26 bucks? Took 40 minutes to get a check after all that. The food is good, that is why I gave 2 stars. The service SUCKS however.

I'm afraid to admit how many times I've either eaten in the restaurant here or ordered takeout because it makes me look like I can't cook. I'm using my 6-month-old as an excuse, because it seems like I never have time for cooking anymore. That said, I've noticed that takeout seems to be much tastier here (and obviously faster) than eating in the restaurant. Here's what I think: - This place knows how to prepare steak! Both the Mexican steak combo and the carne asada are tender and flavorful. Love the asada as it comes with fried jalapenos and onions. - The sopapillas are gigantic, puffy, delicious and come with a side of thick honey for dipping (yum). Do it. - Meh's all around on the burritos - Salsa: yes. Spicy, runny, perfect. - Margs: yes. If you can go in the afternoon they run specials and you want to get on that. Will I be back? For certain.

The service here was terrible - some of the worst I've ever received; we spent most of our time waiting. The food was under-seasoned and totally underwhelming. The decor was hideous and the walls were dirty. Go to Anthony's next door and save yourself some cash.

This place sucks! Nothing like feeling great prior to eating then throwing up in the parking lot. They need to knock this place down and create a parking lot. Nothing against the service, it's the food...

Very decent Mexican food. Prices are reasonable. It's a good place for a quick weeknight dinner with the kids.

Yikes! I love Good Mexican food but two separate trips here proved hopeless. Weak and tasteless food and indifferent service. There is so much better Mexican food. Don't bother with this restaurant.

Horrible customer service!!!! I was excited to have a Mexican restaurant so close to my house, however, the food is not anything special and the tasty margarittas were cancelled out by the awful service. Extremely slow and not friendly staff. Will not go back!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
