If you're under fifty..you'll feel incredibly young walking into here. Most of the customers are easily 70+ years of age. But...the donuts are awesome, as are the coffee drinks. Though this isn't my favorite donut chain..when I crave donuts and coffee I come here. The neighborhood is a bit sketch, but it is on Colfax..so duh. I always get sprinkle donuts, and Winchell's were fresh and delcious, this gets my donut seal of approval.

Dirty. Donuts tasted old. Bathroom was disgusting....Never again. Stay away from this poorly run, poorly cleaned donut house of pain.

Always good, friendly, patient (I have kids) service at this location. The donuts are always fresh and in stock. The person that is there is always cheerful and out to make you happy. Best apple fritters over any other Winchell's (or donut shop for that matter).

This Winchell's is AWESOME! The one on 1st and Sheridan is actually closer to our house but we will keep on driving just to come here because the donuts are ALWAYS fresh and they have a MUCH better selection and the staff and owners are the friendliest people we've met. Love my Maple Glazed and the Buttermilk Bars are NOMS! They were going to stop making the buttermilk bars and the owner told us he'd make some more after we specifically requested it. Sweetie loves her chocolate French Cruller. Located on the corner of Colfax and Pierce next to the JCRS shopping center near Casa Bonita, this Winchell's is the Fort Knox of pastries. Forget LAME-ars donuts. Forget Krispy Kreme. When you have that sweet tooth that needs that sugar frosted fried bread fix, LOOK NO FURTHER! Best of all they are open 24 hours so you can make a donut run anytime!

This is definitely the Winchell's location to go to. Their donuts always seem to be fresh at this location, whereas other Winchell's allow their stock to get old and crumbly. The guy behind the counter? Fantastic. Always smiling, friendly, and always remembers us. Which explains the slew of regulars here. I love their fresh orange juice machine, the stacks of freshly cut oranges and the amazing smell of citrus reminds me of the fruit stands and cafecito windows of my home in Miami. It's on a stretch of Colfax, which, in my opinion, is the BEST location for the classic Winchell's experience. Open 24 hours, too. Rock on.

This place is great late-night after-party food, or quick bagel breakfast sandwich in the morning. They always remember me, and are hilarious and good people. The extreme melt menu items are awesome. Pretty intense, but great. The donuts are alright

I consider myself to be a donut connoisseur and after sampling donuts throughout the greater Denver metro area this Winchells is at the top of my list. The selection is huge and the staff is friendly. I especially like that they offer fresh squeezed orange juice.

I prefer The Small Mom and Pop chains but wanted a Donut. It was good wasnt overly sweet. Went with a Bavarian Creme Long John. And this one is open 24/7 which is awesome.

Always friendly service, and the doughnuts are fresh. Winchell's are my personal favorites. I wish that this place wasn't so close my home. Or right on my way home from work for that matter. I love thees doughnuts and eat them to often. A+

Awesome donut selection. Kinda gross breakfast sandwiches.

Winchell's Chocolate-covered eclair: Because why have just cake for breakfast when you can have cake AND pudding?

Donuts are great for a chain place. I tend to go in at odd hours so I usually find the donuts to be pretty fresh. Staff is always very friendly and helpful.

When the donuts are so good that someone cuts them out of the sign out front...well, the review sort of writes itself. That's right, gang. The east-facing sign that overlooks Colfax has been missing its signature donut for several years, and is surely collecting dust in some aerial vandal's living room as I write this. Fortunately, that red flag hasn't prevented me from dropping in for a donut every time I'm in the neighborhood. Although Winchell's is Denver's premiere faceless donut distributor (until Dunkin Donuts decides to grace us with their presence, that is), this shop offers some surprisingly hometown-style service. The guy that runs the place must sleep in the back: I've probably been in the store a dozen times in the last couple years, and he's always happily serving behind the counter. This touch of friendly, personal service keeps the regulars coming back, too. My roommate calls the elderly morning crowd 'Farmer Browns', and there's always at least a few of them reminiscing over the good ol days and ordering tractor parts...welcome to Mayberry, ya'll. Because they're a chain (and not a particularly spacious location), the store doesn't offer an excess of variety, but the donuts are always tasty and never stale (love their fruit-filling!). I abstain from java, so I can't comment on the quality of coffee, but I do appreciate the variety of beverages (strong hot chocolate, milk, plenty of juice, soda, and energy drinks) on hand. In terms of value, I always manage to get my fill of donuts for a couple bucks. My favorite art history professor used to stop by the store before class to take the edge off of final exams, a tradition I've taken on for my own students. At Winchell's, this is a great options for generous workers on a budget. Or those looking to suck up without breaking the bank on pizza or subs. (that's what we call a 'pro-tip' in the industry) The store is firmly entrenched in the grimy 'charm' of Colfax and Pierce Avenues, but the owner seems to do a pretty good job of keeping the riff-raff away. Every time I stop in at this Winchell's, I find a booth and enjoy my meal leisurely, although the rushing traffic on Colfax is a little less than relaxing. I've visited a few other Winchell's in my neighborhood since moving out of Edgewater last year, but the service and fresh food at this particular location make it a favorite. And let's not forget that sign! It may not be gourmet, but this Winchell's has everything I need for a sugary breakfast.
