I'm vegetarian and love their veggie/tofu dishes, especially the druken noodles. The tofu is surprisingly tasty. The service is super quick. Word of caution, I love spicy food, you can order, mild/medium/spicy. I've ordered the medium and wish I had ordered the mild. They don't mess around with the spiciness! Caution!

Terrible Pad Thai, very large expensive portion to throw away $20+ for two orders of nasty stuck together noodles, mess, disgusting will not be returning. Stick to Tommy's Thai for decent Thai food in Denver.

I ordered 2 combination and 1 chicken pad that for take out. I showed up to pick it up and the waitress showed me the total; 41 dollars which she explained was so high due to their combination Thai being priced at 14. Their pad Thai is 8, and each meat is 2 dollars. Seemed a little high, but I assumed it would be great, tipped 8, and went home. Our 3 pad Thais had barely any meat....my wife had 5 pieces of meat in total. A little under handed for a 6 dollar up charge for meat. That wasn't the worst part however. The noodles were falling apart as if they were cooked hours previously. My Thai hot spice was not very spicy, and all around the food was bland. 2 stars because the waitress/cashier was very nice, the food was quite edible, and they have a convenient location. I'm trying to eat at all the Thai restaurants in town, and this one is the worst so far. They are failing at the micro basics.

Went for lunch a couple of weeks ago. Meh.....Ordered the basic Pad Thai which had chicken and shrimp in it. Chicken portion was good, but it had 3 little shrimp in it with tails on (which is good or I may have missed them). Good portion size. Good waitress. Only one other table of patrons at lunch time (12:30). It really was just a big plate of noodles tossed in very little sauce (I ordered medium hot, and it was fine for me) and by the time I was about 1/4 through the dish it was so dry I was done. Did doggy box it and added some water to it the next day for lunch. Go to any grocery store, buy a cute little yellow box of "A Taste of Thai" and you will have pretty much the exact same thing. BTW I did tell the waitress that the dish was very dry and she seemed to listen.

My fiancé and I come here a few times a year...it's our favorite! I spent some time in Thailand and this restaurant is the closest I've come to authentic Thai! I love the pad Thai and the tom yum banana blossom soup! Sooo tasty! Service is great and medium spice is the right amount of spice for me while my fiancé loves hot! We love pattaya Thai!

There are SO much better Thai places in Denver. Maybe some don't have the fancy colorful "Official Fun-Thai" exterior, but its whats inside that counts. I ate here twice, which was two too many times. The food was bland both times and absolutely unmemorable. Biggest peeve...I asked for HOT both times and got mild. I do not think they even MAKE hot dishes (like, ynow, in THAILAND). This is a poseur-Thai place..."reliable" standard dishes but nothing will blow your mind. You can travel a mere half mile to get to US Thai in Edgewater and pay the same price for pure heaven, so why would you choose not to?

Where to start... Ah I know...slow service for lunch time. Only one waitress was there as the place was pretty busy. Took her awhile just to come by and get my order. I was in the mood for some curry so I decided to go with Green Curry. After that I just sat there waiting to see how long it would take. Took a bit seeing as there were other patrons still waiting on their own food. It was bland at best. Plus for what you pay, the portion is a lot smaller than one expects at $7.95. Whatever the case I quickly finished and went to pay. The one thing that really peeves me off about this trip is right after I paid the waitress stops me to ask if I was going to tip. I was definitely mad that she would accuse me of not dropping tip. I was ready to stiff her there and then but decided to drop a few dollars. Definitely not coming here again after this experience.

I went to this restaurant without Yelping first (often a mistake). The service is friendly and attentivel. I ordered the cocounut/lemongrass soup for the table (goes by different names at different restaurants). My group had never tried it so I was excited for them. Unfortunately, it didn't taste right,. It had a weird bite to it and the chicken in it seemed a little tired. A couple guys that ordered their food mild said it was way too hot. My pad thai was fine, but not super tastey. This place is just a solid 3 stars.

Meh. Used to be so good and the ladies were so friendly. Stopped by for lunch today and I absolutely have to wonder if they changed owners. Requested Vege's with Beef thai medium on the heat and to add Ginger. This is no problem at Thai Diamond (which is terrific). First the horrible soup came out which looked to consist of old chopped chicken with barely warmed frozen vege's (square carrots and peas) served in water rather than broth. Entree showed up with huge serving of Rice, Entree and overfried wanna be wotton with a dab of cream cheese. The Entree Beef smelled rancid and tasted worse. No Ginger added and no flavor. The gal really could care less. Two bites in, I ran the order to the front desk and asked for it to go, she dropped half of it, I paid and left maybe i could still make lunch at Thai Diamond. After thought the dish went into the trash and I went back to work. i noticed other diners were grappling with the soup and not getting good responses to questions on the entrees. That was my clue to cancel order and run!

Glad I finally tried this place! Friendly service, good portion size and very tasty Thai food. Prices are reasonable and the food always comes out hot and fresh. Save room for sticky rice!

I found this jewel as I was out to lunch with a friend. Random find, I knew nothing about the place. I did not want fast food and Pattaya Thai found my taste buds searching. Their place is small and family owned I'm sure. The service was excellent and way better than I expected. I order the Massaman Curry dish and a Thai Iced Tea. My lunch was great and cheap. I never am sure hot HOT Thai restaurants can be, so I went down the safe road and ordered it medium heat. The medium was the right choice as it did have a spicy kick to it. Also, I've never had a Thai Iced Tea, so I had to do it. I wound compare it to a Horchata from a Mexican restaurant with just a different flavor. Very good. If I ever am in the area again for lunch, I'm sure I will stop as my experience was right on. Divey goodness rating 2 thumbs up.

This is some of the most authentic Thai food I have had. I love their fish cakes and their Pad Thai is yummy. The room isin't much but it doesn't really matter when the food is this good. My only regret is that I haven't been going to Pattaya enough!

Was craving some decent Thai food about 11 AM on a Saturday and found myself on CO blvd and the restaurant I wanted to try didn't open until noon...headed up to another place in Edgewood and again, not open until noon...ARGH!! Finally settled on a place I hadn't visited in years-Pattaya Hut. Yes, Pattaya Hut is actually an old Pizza Hut gone Thai. It is very comforting to sit inside this establishment, but I kept thinking I was going to see pizza coming out of the oven. Food is ok, service is decent. I found myself entranced by the Thai style MTV on the flat screen tv's. It wasn't too loud, but just audible enough to hear the Thai love songs. This seem to mesh well with the old Valentine's Day decorations that were still up and it is April! Be forewarned though...this place must have gotten busted by underage drinkers...there are SIX signs....yes I counted them between bitefulls of chicken with Thai basil, onions, and peppers. They are plain black and white signs printed out that say something like "we card everyone for alcohol." Then, in the bathroom, another TWO signs...and the bathroom is not that big! These signs say to "Please throw your toilet paper in the wastebasket." Interesting.

I really wanted to like this place since they deliver and, quite frankly, I can be lazy sometimes! I was hopeful that it would be a great second option to US Thai which doesn't deliver, but like the stars say... it was meh! So there was good and not so good. Good... cream cheese wontons were PERFECT. Crunchy and delicious, even after being delivered. The egg rolls were also great. Crispy and not greasy at all. We ordered two apps cause some of the other reviews said the portions were small... they were right. Delivery was quick and free and all the people I spoke with were very friendly. Not so good... mussaman curry was watery, bland and the serving size was TINY. Barely enough for one person. We also ordered the pad thai with shrimp. The portion size was great for two people but it only came with four shrimp, and they were rather shrimpy I must say. For $10 I expect a few more. The flavor was also lacking a bit, again it was bland and a bit watery. I'd still like to go into the restaurant and try out a few more items before I give up on them completely, but US Thai is still better in my opinion. *helpful tip - their new website is great but you can't get past the appetizers section (on my Mac anyway). If you click on Do you want us delivery? at the bottom of the page it will take you to their full menu as well!!*

I'm in Lakewood now and needed something closer than US Thai, where I would usually go. And while I'm on the subject, I think US Thai does noodles great, but the rest average. So, I tried Pattaya. I did a single chicken Drunken Noodle takeout dish. It was ready when I got there 8 minutes later, but not very hot when I got home 5 minutes after that. Could have been hotter, and not sure why it wasn't. The hostess was super friendly and said she wanted to give me a 10% discount and I'm not sure why, but ok. Food was solid. The noodles were quite tasty and chicken was good, tho there wasn't much chicken to speak of. Kinda light on the meat, and not a huge serving. The spice was solid - I ordered medium and it was perfect. And I like spicy and have spent a month in Thailand, so I know spice. This was comparable to US Thai medium spice. On a whole, and a lot like other reviews, I'd say from my one experience that the food is good. Not fantastic, but satisfying and tasty. I will go back.

I'm still searching for really awesome, mindblowing Thai in Denver. So far, no luck. I suppose Pattaya Thai is okay, but the shrimp in my Pad Thai were unforgivably overcooked and tough. Cilantro sprigs and slices of lime were conspicuously absent. The rice noodles were stuck together in clumps in some spots, and the overall flavor of the dish-- though decent-- was really lacking in complexity. My husband ordered the stir-fried basil with chicken, medium-hot. Now before I go any further, this guy goes through jars of Sambal Olek Indonesian hot sauce like it's ketchup. That is to say, he likes it hot. Well Pattaya's "medium-hot" made the dish nearly inedible for him. No... totally inedible. The remainder of his dinner still sits in Tupperware in our 'fridge. Good leftover Thai should never make it past the next day's lunch! It's been over two days now, and those leftovers are still there. Because we ordered our dinner To-Go, we really couldn't do or say much about how disappointed we were (not that we WOULD, but still... I don't think they would've been as ballsy with the "medium-hot" if we were dining in). Still, Pattaya generally gets good reviews, so I'm willing to give it another shot. I want to love it. I hope I do.

My boyfriend and I love trying new "hole in the wall" types of places in Colorado. This is hands down one of our favorite places to eat. We always get the red curry in between hot and Thai hot. It always comes out hot, fresh and with amazing flavor. It has big chunks of beef and a bunch of bamboo shoots. We also love their spring rolls with the sweet and sour sauce. My boyfriend HATES sweet and sour sauce, but Pattaya Thai does it right! We love the service and have befriended Wee and come to love the family. They know us by name we know them by name. We can't get enough of their great hospitality and fantastic food! GO THERE!!!

Been there a few times. The silver string noodles are very good but watch out for the spice. The decor could use an update but the food is good.

Works in a pinch but only because it's better than the standard Asian food most Americanized places dish out. As authentic Thai food it's a let down. Mediocre curry, larb served without any leafy condiments etc.

I always get the same thing. Ginger chicken (love ginger) and the black rice dessert, at the end. And that's it, it makes me come back again and again. My husband and i are supposed to 'share' the black rice, but i am sneaky enough that i get most of it...

Chef Edie has created a Thai Oasis in the Lakewood Desert! The food is great, I especially like the drunken noodles, the service is good and not in your face every 30 seconds to see if the last mouthful tasted OK. Chef Edie often comes out, has a quick chat, plays with the kids and enquires about your enjoyment of her meal. I will be a regular while Edie is in the kitchen! Oh and the desserts are worth not eating too much for!

This thai restaurant by far has the best pad thai than any other thai restaurant I've tried in Denver. It's the only pad thai that compares to the kind I had in NYC.There egg roles and crab cheese wantons are very good as well. I get delivery from them at least once, sometimes twice a week.

So this time I ordered a Panang Curry, expecting it to be equal with the tasty green curry I had before at this place. Alas, I was disappointed. The curry is very watery and it tasted bland with only a hint of peanut flavor. It looked like somebody accidentally dropped a bucket of water into the mix. Oh well... I'll stick with the noodle dish on this place.

Decent Thai food, but it's never exactly blown me away. Most dishes could be a little spicier/flavorful ... seems like I have a bit of trouble getting the levels to be constant. Best part about them is they deliver, which US Thai Cafe -- my local Thai of choice -- does not, making them my choice during the many nights where I'm blissfully not in a state to drive.

This place has been making a bit of a local stir over the past couple of years; winning several dining awards and being a generally well-vaunted spot for Thai food in Lakewood. Now, seeing as I haven't been to a great many Thai restaurants in general, I cannot speak comparatively for Pattaya. However, the food here is quite simply delicious, and has kept me coming back numerous times, often not deciding to branch out to other spots. It's that tiny, red square building on the northwest corner of the Colfax-Wadsworth intersection, next to the equally luminous purple-glazed Romantix shop. And from the moment you step out of your car to walk in the place, the exciting aromas of Thai cuisine loom in the air to greet you. From first glance at the menu, the relative authenticity of the selection becomes overt. This is the type of place that you have to be somewhat into Thai food to really appreciate, though slight 'Americanized' traits are lent to certain dishes here. The Pad Thai and 'drunken noodles' are two Thai-styled noodle dishes, whose popularity seems to be ever-waxing in the west, and Pattaya's takes on these dishes is simply supreme. The Pad Thai here, is pretty much exactly what I desire in the dish. Admittedly, it's not quite as simple of a take, as what is commonly eaten in Thailand (which is sometimes the gravamen of the occasional diner) but here, it sates my personal tastes like no other. The rice noodles are thin and stringy, but wholesome and slightly firm, and the thumb-sized pieces of chicken, beef or pork that you choose for it offer the perfect texture. Their particular Pad-Thai sauce is excellent as well, though a bit fishy at first. However, as with most good Thai and Chinese food, the flavor is overall rather complex; with sensations of heat, sweetness, richness and freshness, topped off with the aforementioned chicken and fresh, zesty scallions; all conflating in a way that you just have to experience yourself to understand. Thank you Edie. The equally-lauded Pad See Ew/'drunken noodles' offers the same great qualities, but with a much different (but equally amazing) soy-chili sauce, ringing with the taste of fresh basil, bean sprouts, broccoli and carrots. As with any Thai restaurant; the curries are an essential option, and Pattaya's choices and particular quality of the curry dishes remind me of why I love it so much, and also why Pattaya offers exotic, but easy-to-eat creations of it. I also enjoy the Pad King dish greatly, as I quite enjoy mushrooms. And I recommend the Pad Him stir-fry as well. The quality of the items is consistent enough for me, and I can find just about anything I like in any of the menu sections. I do not, however, enjoy the fried fish cakes (Tod Mun Pla). They're rather bland, despite boasting a mild ginger taste (which I'd normally like,) but even worse; they're rubbery. Maybe I had a bad batch that time, but I'm in no hurry to try them again. But the good outweighs the bad here, overall. Prices are also quite reasonable, as for seven to twelve dollars, you can enjoy a nicely-sized entree that isn't too much (and I say this because Thai food must be enjoyed fresh; reheating it later often changes some of the flavor. But it's enough for you to get the full enjoyment of your food. The service is also fast and the Thai folks who own and run this joint are friendly. You can also get your heat from the food in four levels: mild, medium, hot and Thai-hot. I normally stick with the Thai hot, seeing as I'm a chilihead, but for those who don't enjoy excessive capsaicin, the fine cooks here can accommodate you so that you can get the flavor, without all the other steamy effects that seem to coalesce with Thai food's reputation. So for a good bite to eat in your Asian field; don't hesitate to try a nice Thai dish from this place. I'm here a lot, so if you see the pretty boy with long brown hair and blue eyes, come say hi to me.

I have to admit I went here with fairly high hopes, both because it had been rated fairly highly and because it had been a long time since I had been out to have some real food. This restaurant unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations. The restaurant was in an older building and the decor was fine but nothing special. The servers were very helpful and responsive. The food however didn't live up to what I have come to expect of Thai cuisine. One of the things I really like about Thai food is the complex layering of different spices. The longer the food sits in your mouth the more flavors come out so it's a bit like drinking a good wine where it starts out somewhere and has made a journey by the time you swallow. I got a spring roll which was fine but nothing to write home about. I also ordered a red curry with tofu which is one of my more favorite dishes to order at Thai restaurants. The curry was fine but very one-dimensional. I kept waiting for the other flavors, galanga, lemon grass, Thai basil, etc. to come up but the dish remained stubbornly predictable throughout the meal. It's possible I just didn't order the right dish which makes this restaurant shine, but I'm surprised to see the other ratings it has gotten so far. For the record, the hours of this restaurant are: 11:00 - 21:00 Monday through Saturday Closed Sunday

This is hands down the best Thai food I've had in the Denver area. I have been visiting this establishment for years and I'll admit I was slightly concerned when new owners took over. Well it was all for naught! My favorites are still offered with no discernable difference, however the menu is now expanded to offer many other authentic dishes. This past trip I ordered the salad rolls with tofu: they were flavorful and crunchy and were accompanied by a quite tasty peanut sauce. I additionally ordered the yellow curry as it's my favorite ... Again the flavors were spot on and well balanced throughout. My three other compatriots ordered a variety of dishes and all walked away from the table raving about their meal. A word to the wise: Thai hot is genuinely Thai hot. This may be a huge plus for some but I've found most people who aren't spice enthusiasts don't appreciate the heat past medium at this establishment. This is a must visit for those seeking Thai in this area. The service has always been super friendly and helpful. Price point is spot on.

I really enjoyed my first lunch at Pattaya Thai. The interior is warm and casual, and the service was excellent. I always try the satay when I visit a thai place I haven't been to before, and this didn't disappoint. The peanut sauce was excellent, as was the spicy cucumber relish. I also tried the panag curry chicken, thai hot, and it didn't disappoint. I originally planned to take some home, because it was a large portion of food, but it was so tasty, I couldn't stop. I ate the whole thing. I definitely plan to return.

EDIT 8/1/15: This review was originally written a while back. Since the last time I have been (I am on a college budget), there website has completely modernized, the menu is much different, and prices have gone up 20%+. That being said, I have no idea what the current state of my previously favorite place is... However, with the increased prices and the recent reviews being poor about the change in ownership, I doubt I will be back anytime soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After spending over 3 months in northern Thailand (Chang Mai), Pataya Thai is my absolute favorite restaurant yet. Everything from the staff, to the menu is about as authentic as I have been able to find in the US. I will break the review down into staff, menu options, food, and atmosphere. Be sure to ask for the seasoning rack. They should know what you mean (it has peanuts, traditional thai-like peppers that look like Jalepenos - not sure if they actually are though and they were all over in Thailand, fish sauce, red peppers that you can put on your dishes as desired). Also remember, in Thailand they don't really have "beef," its Water-buffalo typically, so beef is not necessarily the recommended meat you should get... Unless your a foreigner... Go Chicken or Pork! _____________________________________ The staff here have always been extremely courteous, as is the Thai Culture. I have yet to meet someone there in the numerous times that I have been that doesn't speak fluent Thai, however, most of them seem to be from the Bankok region. One thing I will comment on is it seems like every few months there is a different person their. Rarely have I ever gone in and seen the same people. This could be attributed to work visa's or family matters, but it seems like new staff every time. This does not stop the fact that they are extremely polite, have the menu memorized fully, and are on top of their service. _____________________________________ Summary of the menu: Curries or Noodles are my favorite. All of them on those to menus are fantastic and authentic. Green curry is my go-to. If you are not used to Thai spicy, start with medium so that you don't go to hot. Thai Spicy is pretty close here to real Thai spicy, it is really hot. Make sure to finish your meal with ordering either Sticky rice with mango or Black sticky rice, or if your feeling like trying new things - get them both, you wont be sorry (a sweet sticky rice with coconut milk topped with mango, its amazing) (Black - another form of sweet sticky rice, also amazing). The food comes out quick. They also have a fair assortment of Thai beers available for those who are 21. The menu you can also find online to scout out the foods before you even go if you are worried you might find anything you like (very simple, yet good looking and comprehensive website). The menu consists of a variety of authentic Thai soups, salads, and a few other dishes. I have not adventured yet into those categories as my favorites have settled in with the noodles and curry sections. In the Noodles section they have a "traditional" pad thai to soothe the american desire, but it is not a dish that is nearly as common in Thailand (Yes it does exist however). It is very well done. My all time favorites in the food category is #27 - Stir Fried Silver Noodle, #26 - Drunken Noodle, and all of the curries. All their food is served in traditional Thai family style. It comes out with rice and they are served on a big plate with your single entree. The noodles every time I have gone (to many to count) have always been perfectly cooked, reminding me of being in Thailand. The curries are much more to my expertise however, and I have had them all. To eat the curries properly, they will come out with a rice bowl, the curry will be in a elongated bowl on top of a plate. You put the rice on the long plate underneath, and use your spoon to dish out the curry on top of the rice. Massuman Curry is a "orange or red curry," typically this and your Panang curry, and pineapple are more coconut milk based, and definitely are the best mild choices (you can get them at any spicey level, but out of the curry ones these are the best if your going to get them not spicy at all). The Green curry with chicken is my go-to food here, depending on how i am feeling I may get it spicy or not. It is a green curry with bamboo shoots and fantastic flavor. I wish I could explain more in depth how authentic Thai curries are, but I lack the formal training to do so. It is fairly authentic here. Make sure you get Sticky rice with mango, or black sticky rice, for desert. These two items are my favorite deserts still today upon returning from Thailand. They are simply amazing. _______________________________________

New Ownership, different food. I've been coming to Pattaya Thai regularly (at least once a month if not more) since about 2007. In 2012, I gave them 5 stars and raved about their food. I honestly considered them to have the best thai food in the greater Denver area. Unfortunately, I can no longer make this claim. Mid June, I visited the restaurant and had the worst food of my experience while there. The rest of my party agreed that something was drastically different; the spices/sweetness were all off, the food appeared to be rather oily, and the overall experience was disappointing. We returned again to give them another chance; after the amazing food we've experienced over the years, we did not want to write off the place after one bad experience. Sadly, when we arrived we were greeted by a sign on the door stating 'New Owner, New Menu." My guess is that others have noticed. The food again left us unimpressed. I ordered the pad thai (a favorite) and felt like the dish was oily and while the spices were slightly better than the last time, they were still not up to snuff. While I cannot say I will never return, I can say that I will never have their pad thai again.

Looking for some tasty thai on a snowy Saturday, placed an order for pick up... Massuman Curry Green curry Tom yum soup Eggroll Both curry's were just as watery as the soup. The portions were extremely small. The massuman curry traditionally has beef and potatoes in it...what I ended up getting was flavorless sliced beef and too many veggies for the ratio of meat and actual curry.....so watery and dissatisfied. Never coming back.

Wowwwwwwww. A ton of people have talked this place up to me... "For the most authentic Thai, you gotta go to Pattaya in Lakewood." "Dude, you haven't had drunken noodles until you've had Pattaya's drunken noodles." "You'll feel like you're back home!" Back home. I miss it there, sometimes. Back home, in Seattle, there's the world's best Thai on every corner. Nearly. Since coming to Denver almost 5 years ago, I haven't had anything that even comes close. And I've looked. With my mouth. Honestly, I was pumped to come here. I actually *believed* the hype. I let it get to me. I let it build up. I ordered my noodles to go. The ambiance of the place was really, really lacking--but some of the best places back home are soooo uncomfortably austere that I was willing to look past it. When we got home, the noodles were dumped into bowls, chopsticks were loaded into fingers, and hulu was activated. Holy flavorless bummer. No amount of salt I added could pull any sort of flavor out of my boring looking noodlepuddle. Even the texture of the noodles was overdone. Not a word was said over dinner. And there's always a word said over dinner. No words is a bad thing. I realized afterward that I was sad. The emotion I was feeling about my food was sadness. The disappointment of such a flavorsuck, as well as the realization that the "best Thai in town, dude!" was merely somebody's stoned thought one time, a long time ago, as they pounded bland noodles into their munchie-craving cottonmouth. Sad, sad noodles. Never again.

I ordered their Pad See Ew for pick up. I was greeted kindly and offered a glass of water while I waited for my order. The guy working there was extremely nice. My food came quickly and I was extremely satisfied with their portions. The food was delicious and flavprful. The spicyness was exactly what I had in mind for being in between mild and medium. I will return! :)

This is one of my favorite Thai places in Colorado! Their noodle dishes are a must! My husband and I love their drunken noodles and pad sew ew. So far it is the best places we have tried. Thai tea is also very good and refreshing! All their desserts are delicious as well! This place does Thai spice correctly! Beware! Medium is good amount of kick! Their curries are okay, not the best that I have had and the only soup we tried was their Tom Yum, which was okay. Their rice is served in a heart shape which was cute. But we mainly just go here for their noodles. I would say the portions are a good size. I know that other Thai places have tiny portions, I usually have a little take home snack after this place. They have prompt service and are very friendly and sweet people!

What an amazing find. Hungry with two kids traveling through the fringes of Denver. After a quick nearby search we were rewarded with an amazing experience. Since I work right off of Federal, I have miles of Thai and Pho restaurants to choose from so I wouldn't consider myself a Thai food rookie. Tonight I met my friends for dinner half way between their house & mine and we chose Pattay Thai. I had the Pad Thai with chicken and Thai Hot - let me just say - they don't mess around, if you order hot, you're gonna get HOT! My dish was tasty with a good amount of chicken, but it was dry. I kept having to squeeze limes or sprinkle soy sauce just to add moisture to the dish. With that being said, I think you need to know that the service was excellent! Our waitress was attentive but not overly so. She was very accommodating and our food arrived quickly. Would I go back? Definitely! Would I say it's the best Thai food I've ever eaten? No, but it wasn't bad, maybe they were low on sauce that night, who knows, but anybody can have an off night every once in awhile right?

We love this place! We have been all over SE Asia on several trips--Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and this place has some of the best noodles we've ever had. We especially love the Silver Bean Thread Pad Thai and we get it Hot and Thai Hot as we love spice. Most places in Denver are americanized and make it too mild even at Thai Hot. We also looooove the Banana Blossom Tom Yum soup. We think this place and US Thai are the only two authentic places in Denver for Thai food--and we have tried them all. Also, the curries are fantastic and they make a fantastic brown rice with the husk if you like brown rice. We order from here at least once a week for delivery and the portions are great so we usually get two-three meals out of each dish.

Find great mexican in Denver: check! Find great BBq in Denver: check! Find great burgers and beer in Denver: check! Find great Thai in Denver: *crickets chirp* I'm spoiled by the most amazing thai place called "ping kaow" in vegas. That being said, puting peanuts and cashews in EVERYTHING doesn't make it thai. I ordered the mussaman, egg roll and coconut ice cream. The egg roll was fried yesterday and nuked today. It was cold on the middle, chewy, and flavorless. The mussaman was TERRIBLE. It was coconut water soup. Nothing rich or creamy about it. It has like 3 pieces of chicken, 3 of potato and the rest was shit tons of onions and peanuts. Peanuts don't belong in this dish! The ice cream was great. But topped with cashews... ew.

I was hesitant to go here after reading the reviews here, but I'm glad I gave this place a try. The issues mentioned below seem to have been mostly corrected. We went there for dinner. The Cheese wantons appetizer were the best I've ever had. They weren't giant, over friend blobs. These had a very light fried texture and were delicious. Main Entree. I decided to go with a classic entree, Chicken & Shrimp Pad Thai. WOW! Perfectly cooked noodles in a sauce that was light and tasty. I've had Pad Thai in the past that was the consistency of pinata glue. Not today! I shared my dish with my friend and still had left overs to take home. The meat portions were to my liking, and I felt that the chefs chosen portions of meat to the meal were perfect. I see that some people felt they didn't get enough meat, but to me the noodles and the sauce are the main focus and the meat is a nice side compliment. When something comes with meat, the meat is not always the main focus of a plate unless you order a Steak or something where it is implied to be the focus. Service. There were 2 friendly gals working the floor and the service was good. We were seated quickly and brought drinks. Our waitress was able to tell us about the different noodles and other ingredients. She checked in on us during the meal to make sure we were happy. She brought us our check in a timely manner. Maybe my visit was a fluke? So in the name of YELP I will go there today for dinner and see how it goes.

Ordered last night asked if they had something similar to sweet and sour chicken...she recommended BBQ chicken. It was a full chicken with a little cup of sauce. The chicken was full of bones. For the pad thai large serving thank goodness it has to feed 3 since the chicken was dry and full of bones. However, the pad thai was not great 3 tiny shrimp that tasted old. Very disappointing. But egg rolls were amazing.

I met a friend who was in town for a brief visit here for lunch ... our objective was to have a quick lunch, and if we hadn't gabbed so much it would have worked out as planned. Service at Pattaya is quick and friendly. We started with chicken larb (described as "ground meat" something or the other on the menu). Not having traveled to Northern Thailand I can't speak to its authenticity, but I thought it was good. For entrees my friend said something about ordering dishes not so sweet, and I should have paid more attention. I didn't think much of it since the dish I was ordering -- pad si ew -- is meant to be somewhat sweet, but as served at Pattaya it was bordering on cloying. I did have a taste of the silver noodle pad thai, custom-ordered "not too sweet" and thought it was pretty tasty. So, all in all, not necessarily the best Thai food I have had, but a nice, quick lunch option. Given the proximity to where I work and now knowing that I can custom-order sweetness level, I would not hesitate to come back.

I wouldn't go back. The waitress had an attitude and insisted that the chicken we were served was pork. When we insisted it was chicken, she was incredibly condescending. She then talked to the cook and did admit that it was chicken. She also asked one of us if she wanted a drink. When that person said no, she walked away without asking the other two. My pork dish was so small it felt like a ripoff at only $6.95. Overall, the food was really boring, too. I love Thai food! How could it ever be boring? Well, it was here. It was kind of fun to sit in an old Pizza Hut and remember when Pizza Hut was an actual sit- down restaurant rather than whatever the hell you would call it nowadays. There are way too many good Thai places to waste time at Pattaya Thai.

I have eatin here several times and find each visit more satisfying. The curry is very tasty. The chicken satay is very good too. I found the Tom Kha Chicken soup to be a wonderful new tastebud experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for really good flavor. If you are looking for really hot spices(colon cleansing strength), you will probably want to try a different Thai restaurant.

Great flavor here. We had the Tod Mun Pla as an appetizer. This is described as fish cakes and green beans served with kaffir leaves, spices and cucumber sauce. The gyoza and the pad thai were good as well. They deliver to a limited area.

Cruising back from Copper Mountain, feeling a warm, happy, tired buzz. SERIOUSLY famished, and wanting dinner to be as real as the skiing had been. The happy place in my brain started smelling Pattaya around Lookout Mountain. Oh yeah. The aroma. The aroma of real Thai. The smiling faces of Pattaya family....their enthusiasm for their guests. Diners mingling with each other...no one a stranger. I got some fried tofu and a red pork curry, and my face was quickly bathed in sweat. The Singha beer was just right. My whole body was tingling. Real food. Happy people. Yum.

New management. They no longer have their completely unique egg rolls. The food no longer tastes the same. I have been here twice just to make sure I wasn't losing my mind and both times the food tasted different. Heavy vinegar flavor in my Basil Stir Fry and Pad Thai didn't taste like normal. Very disappointed.

Okay, first of all I'll admit that I have had about two visits to this restaurant that I found somewhat unsatisfying, both were last year and both had to do with my spice request not being spicy enough. However, I've been to this place a bazillion times (seeing as how I love Thai food AND it's in my 'hood), and 99% of the time I am deeply, fully satisfied by my meals. It used to be that you could order "Thai Hot" and actually get Thai Hot! That is a rarity. Not that I'm big a fan of Thai hot dishes, but it might be good information. My favorite dishes are the Pad Thai, Pad Thai Wun Sen, Mussaman Curry, Panang Curry, Banana Blossom Soup, all of their desserts are scrumptious (I'm a sap for Thai iced teas and they do them well), etc. etc. I haven't tried the entire menu, but I'm getting there! The waitstaff is charming. There are few places I've been greeted or waited upon so sweetly and competently! Very hole-in-the-wall, small, lovely local place to eat. One draw back, but still not enough to me to take away a star: two TVs in the dining area! Why on earth do restaurants (other than, perhaps, sports bars) install televisions in their dining areas?! It makes me crazy, but usually I focus on the delicious food and fine company I usually bring along for the ride. Thumbs waaaaaaaaaay up!

This place has some of the best Pad Se Ew in town. I have tried too many other places. We also ordered the Stir-Fry Thai Basil. This was not really what I was hoping for, but I guess the Stir-Fry should have clued me in that this is not Thai Basil Chicken, which was one of my favorite dishes in all of Thailand. Still good though. The wife ordered Tom Ka and though it was good, it was not a traditional white soup. We will return here for Pad Se Ew and try out the Larb and Panang Curry. The staff is Thai and in typical Thai fashion are very friendly.

I've eaten here so many times and I never get tired of the curry! By the way did you know that curry can be addicting, I didn't know that, anyhow this place is great. The food is awesome, fresh, and soooo full of flavor.

I have been going to this place for years! From the outside it doesn't look like much and the inside is a throwback to my Mom's kitchen in the 70's. That said, this is the BEST and most authentic Thai food you can find! It is seriously amazing! Try the Tom Yum Banana Blossom soup and you will be hooked! The complex flavor profile of warming, sour and astringent properties make this the healthiest comfort food out there! The staff is also adorable and attentive. They think my partner looks like Ellen Degenerous, which causes mass hysteria and is hilarious. This is truly our home away from home. The sex shop and pawn shop next door just add to the charm- not really, but what are you going to do? If this place were in Cherry Creek, the prices would be through the roof, so just sit back, have some yummy Thai food, drink a Saporro and ignore the sirens.

Totally a dive inside but the server was attentive, polite and on top of things. I had delicious panang curry and black rice pudding. Oh and chicken satay which was yummy too. My hubbie had pad thai. He was disappointed that there were only two shrimp on it, not enough chicken to make up for the lack of shrimp and it had a fishier taste to it than either of us was used to. Fish paste maybe? No I am not a Thai food connoisseur. I just like yummy food. We would go back he would just get something else. The prices are very reasonable.

But topped with cashews... ew.

While the ambiance reminds me of the rundown bars I've encountered in Michigan, the Thai food here is actually pretty good. Not all of the dishes were great, but I thought they did a particularly good job with the drunken noodles. On the other hand, the coconut ice cream is something I'd avoid next time. With such reasonable prices, Pattaya Thai is a solid choice if you're in the area.

GO THERE!!!

Yum.

The silver-noodle pad thai is still our favorite in town (we always have it; I believe it's a/k/a pad thai woon sen). Thin, light noodles - delicious. We ask for less sweet (less added sugar) than usual -- now they know our routine, and acknowledge this before we even have to ask. (The chicken is quite good, though the shrimp they include is pretty forgettable.) Lots of what I enjoy about Pattaya is the warm atmosphere. They're so friendly there, and really aim to please. You can get a Thai iced tea or a nice, cold Singha with your meal. The black rice dessert (with coconut milk) is fantastic, though we're usually too full to have any room for it. The chicken larb is really good. I'm still not as big a fan of their curries (we prefer the curries at US Thai). But for noodles, Larb, and a warm, friendly atmosphere, Pattaya is great!

I swear this is my last update of this place. This place must put some sort of addictive substance in its food. At first I was not blown away by the whole Pattaya Thai experience but went back for more. Again was pleased but still not wowed. Now I am a full-fledged addict and cannot digest any other Pad Thai. It may not be the best Thai in Denver, but its the best for me. I love you darling spicy heart-burn inducing Pattaya Thai!

This review is the disappointing result of three separate visits, each failing to outshine the last one's subpar result. The most recent visit was about two weeks ago, in October 11'. I wanted...no..needed some thai. Pattaya Thai was about to get it's third and final chance. The building looks cute, possibly a converted Pizza Hut building. Right next to the sex toy store, if you need to combine trips. I ordered a bowl of coconut and chicken soup (Tom Kha I think) to share with the lady, and the half Roasted Chicken for my entree. The soup came out, and smelled like a bowl of fish sauce. When I tasted it, it tasted like a bowl of fish sauce with cilantro with strips of over-boiled chicken. Not sure where the coconut fit into the recipe. As a polite patron, I attempted to put a dent in it, and failed. I've never had this type of soup before, and this may totally be the correct way to cook it. However, had the menu said anything about fish sauce or cilantro, I could have made a better choice. The chicken came out looking pretty nice. Brown and baked, like a stoned wookiee. A couple bites of luke-warm chicken caused me to poke my finger into the center of the bird, where I discovered that it was still refrigerator cold. I let the waitress know, and she was very polite and took it back to the kitchen, from whence it reemerged freshly microwaved two minutes later. The microwaving turned the chicken dry, sticky, and inedible. After explanation of the grievances by the wife, the waitress did remove the offending dishes from the check. We still ended up paying $15 for the beverages and a plate of (also fish flavored) Pad Thai. To sum it up: -Consistently Disappointing -Not too tasty -Needs to reign in whoever is operating that Jug of fish sauce

When I think of Pattaya, I think of the namesake city along the Gulf of Thailand. You know, that one city, originally popularized by American vets and expats, that is well-known for its, you know...sex industry. When I think of Pattaya, I think ping pong balls - and it isn't appetizing. That said, Pattaya Thai makes food that is well-flavored. The atmosphere is a bit pleasing, at least as much as you could expect from its Wadsworth locale across the street from a Wal-Mart. The staff is extremely helpful, cute and nice. While the food is well-flavored, it is just a bit greasy for my liking. Perhaps if find myself out this way, I'll give them another try - but for now, I'm not likely to go out of my way to eat here.

Great flavor here. We had the Tod Mun Pla as an appetizer. This is described as fish cakes and green beans served with kaffir leaves, spices and cucumber sauce. The gyoza and the pad thai were good as well. They deliver to a limited area.

It's a small place, but great food. Never been disappointed with any of the curries I've tried. The cream cheese wontons are perfection!!

We ordered take out and were not sure if the food would be as good as the conversation and lessons on naturalization. But, after being content in our conversations with the owner we were on our way to picnic. The food was amazing and so plentiful we now have a nice collection of leftovers too. Deep flavors, nice spice, and happy tummy foods! The food made our day. We will be back many more times, next time we will plan ahead and eat in! Thank you, thank you!

But topped with cashews... ew.

Terrible Pad Thai, very large expensive portion to throw away $20+ for two orders of nasty stuck together noodles, mess, disgusting will not be returning. Stick to Tommy's Thai for decent Thai food in Denver.

GO THERE!!!

Best Thai food in Denver! Be careful when you order Mild hotness it's medium. Medium is hot and hot I don't dare try...

Yum.
